  • They test on console, but I imagine they test on their dev kits rather than an actual console.

  • "You're not forced to do it" is the worst argument for not reducing the grind I've possibly ever heard. Yes, you can play a level one survivor. If that's what you want to do: Go for it! But for those of us who do want to use varied builds and try out different perks on different characters, the grind is too much. To suggest otherwise is completely ridiculous. Just because YOU aren't interested in getting all the perks, doesn't mean there aren't people who ARE. And those people deserve to have it reduced. Why should the game be catered to YOU? You're the one that wants All-seeing-Blood nerfed. Surely you can beat it with your level 1 survivor no problem.

  • The survivor bots were really bad. The Meg Bot was a total Meghead, and stepped in a trap as soon as I unhooked her. So I guess at least it's accurate.

The Killer bot was better than I expected. Though part of that is just me not expecting them to be any good at all.

200k bloodpoints was totally worth doing it.

  • 2.

    First was a Nemesis.

    Second was a Clown.

Okay by statistics object was fine then and totally not abused by 4 mans for free permanent aura reading?

Yes, by statistics it was fine. That's why it took so long for them to fix it. Because the statistics were saying "This is not a problem". But just because something's not a statistical problem, doesn't mean it's fun to play against. Which is why OoO was eventually changed. It took so long because the statistics weren't painting the problem properly.

After 4 years. How long did undying ruin take? Im a 50/50 with mostly survivor hours but even i need to call that bs.

Undying was a HUGE problem in the game. It was basically the only thing killers ran for the duration. If you look at the things it took a long time for them to change, it's because the statistics didn't show they were a problem. How often was Iri Head used before its nerf? DS escape rate wasn't abnormal. Even Key escapes are pretty uncommon (for as strong as they are.) There's actually a method behind why devs do the things they do.

Thats a damn joke. Fix the vaccine to not work with perks, meaning nothing can effect it.

This is like when the Thana buff was reduced, there was a better and more simple solution but you guys take the worst route possible.

That makes Franklin's WORSE on Nemesis, though. I feel like having it work on vaccines makes sense.

  • I actually used Franklin's quite a bit. It's not a terrible perk if there's 3+ items in the match. You'd be surprised at how greedy survivors are for their items when they knew they might not be there later.

Wonder what the drain rate is. Hopefully it'll drain 1% per second.

I think the update is always bigger on consoles I'm afraid.

And yes you might need to restart your console for the update to proc.

But one that's almost as big as the game itself? DBD we're going to need to talk, cause my PS5 only has so much space.

  • This'll take about an hour for me. But I feel really bad for people who's internet is slower.

  • It's 31 for me too. Why is it so big? Like that's almost as big as the game.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

So when you play FD perk, they can still lose it from their hand and "lose chargers overtime" but they can still use it to open it, right? Well, that was the only counterplay Killer had to delete key from a game? I don't know why they suddenly changed this perk. I thought it was in a good spot allready.

They changed the perk because of Nemesis. MandyTalk explained it in the other thread. It destroys the vaccine, which would mean Franklin's would be too strong on Nemesis.

  • Never nerf survivors?

    *looks at DS*

    K. Whatever you say.

  • Franklin's nerf is kind of disappointing. Now survivors won't be rushing back to their key after being unhooked. They can pick it up whenever they feel like it. I feel like this is the point keys should've been nerfed at least a bit. Maybe require charges to open the hatch so Franklin's would still work on it.

  • They are Eduardo Ernesto Emilio Elias Enrique Enrique Esteban Elonzo Elegante VIII and Ann Smith.

  • It's hard for them to make new slowdown perks because you can stack them too much. Thana isn't a great perk, but if you buff it too much it can become oppressive when combined with Ruin and Pop.

    Uhm..

I hate to admit it, but I have a spending addiction when it comes to this game. Bloodpoints? Gotta get more flashlights for my Kate. Shards? Gotta get more bloodpoints to get more flashlights for my Kate.

At this point I'm just going to wait for anniversary to start grinding on the new characters since I've already started on a few others.

Flashlights come in chests. Get flashlights from chests, escape the trial. That's what i do with medkits anyway.

  • Kicking a gen now removes 2.5% progress immediately. Does not stack with Pop.

  • Grind Be Gone

As long as you've got 5/4/3 hooks, receive 1,000,000 BP at the end of the trial.

"God I'm sick of this grind."

    WHERE ARE THEY?

When you start a chase with a survivor, see their aura for 2/3/4 seconds.

"WHY DO I HEAR CHASE MUSIC? WHERE'S THE SURVIVOR I'M CHASING"

    NO MORE BACK TO BACK

When two gens are completed within 6/8/10 seconds of each other, all survivor auras are revealed to you for 6/8/10 seconds and survivors are exposed for 1 minute.

  • Survivor: Borrowed Time.

Killer: Lethal Pursuer. Just so it doesn't feel like you've spent a perk slot for 7 seconds. Even though I think it'll be pretty useful.

  • Pig is a killer who needs some changes. Give her a bit more power in chase, but make the bear traps a little less oppressive. (And maybe a bit more consistent too while we're at it). If you can beat survivors in chase, you'll have a pretty easy time with her. But the game's designed in such a way that without a chase power, all survivors really have to do against her is pre-drop pallets and rush the gens. Once they get all 5 done, she has no power in end game except the ambush -- which you can get some pretty sick hits in, but usually at smaller loops. And survivors that know how to counter her, will give her a hard time.

I wouldn't say she's underrated. I'd say she's rated about right. She's just really good against potatos.

  • How dare a perk reward the user and have no penalty! What, are perks supposed to help the survivor that uses them now? How ludicrous.

  • Turn it into a perk like No Mither, where it's a challenge perk with a strong-ish reward.

    This is not happening

While uninjured, all good skill checks count as great skill checks. Receive bonus 50/75/100% BP in the boldness category. You will be oblivious throughout the trial.

Lol not when many survivors are talking about using distortion. And that will cancel you out

lol survivors giving up one of their second chance perks for distortion.

  • Lethal Pursuer. Finally no more searching for survivors in the early game, only for all four of them to have gotten the God spawn.

  • The Devs actually have done a pretty good job, as long as you play the game for fun and not to consistently win.

  • Too bad they can't just let us 'reset' our account on one system, which gives us a code for all the BP we've spent. I'd have a good 50,000,000 BP to spend or more.

  • As a killer, I'll only tunnel if I notice that you're back on a gen 10 seconds after you're unhooked. At that point, I have to get you out of the game. You clearly don't respect the killer, and that means I have no means of pressuring you. I'll also tunnel you if you pop a generator in my face. It's not because I'm mad you did it, it's because again, you don't respect the killer, and I'm doing what I can to put the fear of the killer in you. I won't tunnel someone out of the game at 5 gens, but when you're just sitting on gens and they go fast -- I don't really have time to try to go after someone else when you'll do.

Now, I realize that survivors need to be efficient, because they don't know how the killer will play. But the killer has to be efficient too. If you're not healing up, then I'm just going to put you back on that hook where you can't do generators.

Are there people who just tunnel people straight out of the game at 5 gens, when it's not necessary? Sure. It's a playstyle I'm not a fan of. Neither as survivor or killer. But survivors often dictate a need for tunneling based on the pace of the generators. Best thing you can do is run DS. Or at least act like you're running it, and not hop back on that gen in 20 seconds. Maybe you don't do that, and these are just the typical killer who only cares about getting 4k's, and will tunnel you no matter what's going on. In those cases, not much you can do except run perks that help you get away from them. (Resurgence will be very nice. 8 second heals off hook? 4 second heals if the unhooker has We'll Make It? Sweet!)

Sometimes tunneling is your teammates fault. Don't save next to the killer. I don't CARE if you have BT. I mean that literally. As a killer, I can count to twelve. It's a skill I learned when I was four. In those cases, its your teammates fault for not respecting a killer.

All in all, what I'm trying to say is that while there are some killers who'll go out of their way to make a match miserable for people, survivors often dictate how a killer plays. If you show the killer respect, the killer might just show you respect in return. If you don't, then they might just get you out of the game.

So basically, you want to camp and tunnel, use Insta-downs as much as possible, to reduce chases to as short as possible, to keep that meter as low as possible.

Chases aren't the only things that fill the meter. Chases are just one thing among many.

  • The Entity's Hunger.

As the entity gets fed, the gauge fills up. Different things (including chases) fill it up. At the start of the match, the meter is empty, and generators take longer to complete. As the entity gets fed, the meter fills up and generators speed up.

  • I had a game a while back as survivor where I earned less than 3000 BP! Why did I get less than 3000 BP? Because my team left me to die on first hook. Was the killer camping? I mean I guess if you can camp across the map chasing another survivor. (They had Kindred too!) I mean the killer did eventually come back to the hook, but they had taken so long anyway. After that, I hoped the killer would just straight up slaughter the rest of the team. I was glad when he did.

  • Both sides should get more BP overall. The grind is absolutely ridiculous. I feel really sad when people end a game with less than 10k BP. "Oh yay, I can buy three brown nodes.... great use of my time."

  • Probably Leon, then Jill and lastly Nemesis. I've got a bit of BP saved up through the rift. Hard to believe it's just a few days away.

  • What would the point of an FOV Slider even be? All you're really asking for is a change to FOV, but think this makes it sound more reasonable. Because no killer is going to be like "Nah, I'm good with more limited vision." And what happens when people use stretched Res + the FOV Slider on PC + Shadowborn for that matter.

What is happening is that Killer Player probably never uses that particular Killer option. Thus, with MMR running he/she put it in. They pulled a bunch of newbies because the Killer reads as a newbie, and to that Killer they are new. However, certain basic skills are common to all Killers and a Rank-1 with any Killer will know the basics well enough no matter who they play. That is why MMR should just STAY UP and let us all quickly adjust as the system learns.

A friend of mine is a newbie killer, never above Yellow Ranks. She only gets Red Rank Survivors, which has frustrated her greatly. Especially since she doesn't have any killers above level like 10. Which means playing with 3 perks, little to no slowdown, being new to the game, and going against Red Rank Survivors who know the game better than her.

  • Pig needs some tweaks all around.

But no way should survivors not be able to see their timer or be afflicted with oblivious while searching their boxes. As a Pig, you should generally ignore survivors searching for Boxes. Maybe chase them off, but generally you should be paying attention to survivors without party hats. I know some pigs do, but I don't think we should be encouraging it by making it even easier to down survivors trying to get their hats off.

  • Does anyone even wear the crowns? I think I maybe see them every 50 games or so. But they're like a big flashing light saying "Come get me!" I don't have any (well, I did. But then I changed platform so I had to start everything over) but I don't think I'd use them even if I did.

  • They want to make it so it's harder for people to manipulate their MMR Ranking.

  • Oh yeah, another thing matchmaking can't take into consideration: Maps. There's a huge difference between playing Huntress on Autohaven, and playing Huntress on Hawkins. Then you have the uneven spawns, where three people can spawn on three different gens on opposite sides of the map. Or all four survivors spawn together. The two matches are absolutely 100% different experiences for both killers and survivors. And I'm not sure that's something matchmaking takes into consideration.

  • Faster speed while crouched. Like I'll gladly give up Tampered Timer for faster crouched speed.

  • It goes all over the place. One game you'll be facing baby survivors or a baby killer, the next game you'll be facing someone with 6000 hours. I feel like MMR can't take some things into consideration. Like add-ons used, or perks, or anything like that. Like someone can be terrible at an add-on dependent killer if they don't use add-ons, but if they use add-ons, they become absolutely lethal. MMR seems to be going for a balance of "Two Escape, Two Kill" but doesn't take into consideration what items the survivors are using, what perks they have, what perks and addons the killer has, etc... Because it can't, because you can change those things in the lobby.

  • I let a console Feng boop my snoot yesterday. She was very pleased.

  • The only change Trickster needs, IMO, is that laceration should not automatically decay. It should only go down through survivors actions, so that he gets SOMETHING out of it one way or another. That's the real problem with Trickster IMO. Though being able to hold main event for a bit would probably be a good change too.

  • Harbinger from Mass Effect. It'd be pretty cool to have a Reaper as a killer tbqh.

  • If you leave the hatch with an active RBT, you should start the next trial with it on. The next killer will get the Pig who put the trap on them's screenname and be able to say "Got em' for you." Would even work cross-consoles/pc.

    "Got em' for you pig."

"Thanks. They sent me to HADDONFIELD"

"Absolute monsters. Glad I was playing Nurse with Starstruck and Infectious Fright."

  • I'm just messing with you.

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

No I'm not. Look in the tree.

  • Meg probably has Sprint Burst.

    David certainly has Dead Hard.

Bill probably has BT and Unbreakable.

That survivor who you took a while to chase goes down easily after being unhooked and is super eager to take a protection hit, they have DS.

  • Trapper - Unnerving Presence. Absolutely useless.

Wraith - Predator. Actively makes things worse.

Hillbilly - Lightborn. It'll actually be a decent perk after next update, though.

Nurse - Stridor. Except on Spirit.

    Shape - Dying light. Terrible.

Hag - Hex: The Third Seal. I mean sure, the other two are Ruin and Devour, but even if they weren't it'd still probably be Third Seal.

Doctor - Overwhelming Presence. Even more useless.

Huntress - Beast Of Prey. Territorial Imperative has its uses, but is incredibly niche and still bad. But it's still Beast of prey which does practically nothing.

Leatherface - Knockout. Useful on slugging killers, I guess. Like Twins. But overall, not too useful.

Freddy - Fire Up. Tough choice, though. they all kinda suck. But Blood Warden has some uses, and Remember Me slows the exit gates down.

Pig - Hangman's Trick. Why? Just why?

Clown - Coulrophobia. Who heals in your terror radius?

Spirit - Spirit Fury. Rancor is a useful tracking perk, while Haunted Ground helps protect totems. Spirit Fury is okay when paired with Enduring. But otherwise, a tad unimpressive.

Legion - Iron Maiden. Chances are you'll hear AHHHH AHHH AHHH AHHH as survivors hop in and out of lockers trying to get your attention. Mad Grit is pretty bad too, but at least has some potential use. And Discordance is easily the best perk of Legion's.

Plague - Dark Devotion. Not completely terrible. Can be used to get a sneaky hit on someone. But still not in the same league as corrupt intervention and infectious fright.

Ghostface - Furtive Chase. Only use is that stupid tome challenge where you have to hook the obsession 4 times.

Demogorgon - Cruel Limits. Yeah, good luck ever getting use out of this one.

Oni - Blood Echo. Tough call between it and Zanshin, but I think Zanshin is a little more useful. Blood Echo can be pretty good to stop things like Dead Hard, but getting it to proc at the right time is... yikes.

Deathslinger - Gearhead. Dead Man's Switch at least has minor value of blocking generators.

Pyramid Head - Forced Penance. Doesn't really do much. Oh no, not the broken status effect.

Blight - Hex: Blood Favour. Why is it a hex AND have a cooldown, and a very limited range?

Twins - Hoarder. Not particularly useful. Survivors may not even open chests. ANd if they do, do you really want to go after them over survivors working on gens?

Trickster - No Way Out. Slightly better than Remember Me, but it's not going to really do you much good unless you pair it with NoED.

Nemesis - Hysteria. Perk is interesting, but I think a bit weak with a long cooldown. And doesn't even work with Legion's power.

Ouch, were you doing the sacrifice challenge while that happened?

    Yeah, I was.

Then had a DC yesterday while doing the "hook the obsession 4 times" challenge. Had furtive chase, but THANKFULLY the obsession didn't DC until after they were saved off the hook.

  • A little, maybe. I might tunnel the key user if it's worth the time investment. And I might try to not take anyone out of the game until I know multiple people are on death hook (including the key user).
