Each killer’s worst perk?
I made a thread for this the other day for the survivor side, and it was quite fun, so doing it again for the killer side.
The Trapper: Unnerving Presence - This perk is showing its age, as it’s really bad. Maybe on an impossible skill check Doctor, it could be okay. Apart from that, it’s not good. It gives extra skill checks, which often results in survivors completing gens faster.
Wraith: Predator - Three awful perks, but this one takes the cake. It’s often hurting you, as it won’t spawn scratch marks on walls, which are useful for tracking.
Hillbilly: Lightborn - He has two other good perks, and this really only helps in a lobby of people carrying four flashlights. Should never be a standard perk in a build.
Nurse: Stridor - Amazing for Spirit, but pretty mediocre for any other killer. Not worth the perk slot.
Myers: Dying Light - This is a horrible, horrible perk. It buffs a survivor at the start of the game, and then applies a tiny 3% debuff for everyone else every time you hook someone. It’s really insignificant, and most of the time will only be impacting two survivors at once. Never use this, it’s a joke.
Hag: Hex: The Third Seal - Insultingly bad, I laugh whenever I see a killer using it. For a hex perk, it’s actual garbage.
Doctor: Overwhelming Presence - I debated between this and Overcharge, but at least Overcharge can be ok at lower ranks. Close call though.
Huntress: Beast of Prey - Has such a minor effect that it’s hardly better than running something. At least Territorial Imperative could occasionally get you a down, maybe.
Bubba: Knock Out - Pretty worthless against SWF. Even against solo queue, it’s not very good. Counters tenacity, I guess.
Freddy: Fire Up - Requires you to lose objectives, in exchange for a buff that hardly helps. The breaking buff is the best part, but all the good pallets are generally gone by the end of the game anyway.
Pig: Hangman’s Trick - Extremely niche. There are much better perks to use to help you when carrying - starstruck, agitation, etc.
Clown: Coulrophobia - Survivors will just leave your terror radius to heal 100% of the time, which isn’t great as you can’t interrupt the heal as easily. Nurse’s is a much better anti-healing perk.
Spirit: Spirit Fury - I was unsure between this and Rancor. When combined with enduring, it’s quite good, but otherwise pretty bad. Rancor gives information and can help get a kill, I guess?
Legion: Mad Grit - Funniest perk in the game, but not really something to use outside of a meme build. Iron Maiden is fine on Huntress.
Plague: Dark Devotion - Her other two perks are incredible, so this one gets the short end of things. Not bad, just hard to use.
Ghostface: Furtive Chase - Uhhhhh? Who made this #########?
Demogorgan: Cruel Limits - Blocks windows (not pallets for some reason) for areas close to gens for a while, but it’s an area survivors are going to be leaving ASAP. Going for survivors that have just finished a gen usually isn’t optimal either. Mindbreaker is very bad too.
Oni: Zanshin Tactics - Alright for beginners, but doesn’t hold a candle to windows of opportunity for survivors. It’s not going to help people who have a decent understanding of the game.
Deathslinger: Dead Man’s Switch - Probably the least known perk in the game? I’ve seen it used maybe once in a match, and it’s very minor.
Executioner: Forced Penance - I had a hard time choosing between his perks, and could have gone for any of the three. I chose this because protection hits aren’t going to happen too much, and it can be a hard perk to take advantage of.
Blight: Hex: Blood Favor - Survivors can easily outrun the distance of the blocked pallets. Bad.
Twins: Hoarder - Spawning extra chests is a risky investment for this perk. It should be buffed to make you undetectable when it activates, then it could be okay.
Trickster: Hex: Crowd Control - Not worth the hex perk, it probably will get cleansed before you get much use out of it.
Nemesis: Hysteria - Awkward to activate, and most of the time will do nothing.
Would love to see other people’s list, and where people disagree with me!
Comments
Okay, let's try
Trapper: Unnerving Presence. Only works for lower ranks and Impossible skill check Doctor.
Wraith: Predator. I actually hate to use this because it's harder to me to track survivor in small spaces with this.
Hillbilly: Lightborn. Good against flashlights, useless when there is no flashlights.
Nurse: Thanataphobia. Well, if you play killer who can snowball injure survivors then this might be usable but not with my Bubba, Shape & Billy.
Shape: Play with your food. Rather run Dying Light or Save the Best for Last. Don't like let obsession run freely if he/she is easy to caught.
Hag: The Third Seal. Had this perk in 6 or 7 games and once got everyone blind before they got totem. Doesn't help you.
Doctor: Overwhelming Presence. Survivors can just stop using items inside TR when they know you're running this.
Huntress: Territorial Imperative. I don't know why you should run this unless you camp basement from distance.
Cannibal: Knock Out. One really good perk, one situational perk and this which can be countered by playing swf.
Nightmare: Fire Up. Sure you get boosts but I only run this with Tombstone Myers.
Pig: Hangman's Trick. Easy choice, one of the worst perks which needs to be reworked.
Clown: Coulrophobia. Another easy pick Comparing to those other two perks he have.
Spirit: Rancor. You get slight advantage everytime gen is repaired but obsession can always hide at the end to counter your aura reading.
Legion: Iron Maiden. Works for Huntress or Trickster, Useless perk imo.
Plague: Dark Devotion. Not a bad perk but I rarely use this and I use IF and Corrupt a lot more.
Ghostface: Furtive Chase Used this once when went for adept.
Demogorgon: Cruel Limits. Rarely works for me and was gonna pick Mindbreaker but atleast it counters Sprint Burst running from a gen.
Oni: Blood Echo. Doesn't do much for a perk.
Deathslinger: Gearhead. Rarely run this perk and it was tough choice between this and Dead Man's Switch.
Executioner: Deathbound. Usually Im chasing someone so it doesn't give me that much value.
Blight: Blood Favour. Not bad but I don't use this on any character. Never.
Twins: Hoarder. Why this is even a perk, Total joke for me.
Trickster: Crowd Control. This can be helpful but again it's Hex perk which gonna be gone under a minute.
Nemesis: Hysteria. Would be useful but it needs basic attack to trigger.
Interesting list!
Trapper - Unnerving Presence. Absolutely useless.
Wraith - Predator. Actively makes things worse.
Hillbilly - Lightborn. It'll actually be a decent perk after next update, though.
Nurse - Stridor. Except on Spirit.
Shape - Dying light. Terrible.
Hag - Hex: The Third Seal. I mean sure, the other two are Ruin and Devour, but even if they weren't it'd still probably be Third Seal.
Doctor - Overwhelming Presence. Even more useless.
Huntress - Beast Of Prey. Territorial Imperative has its uses, but is incredibly niche and still bad. But it's still Beast of prey which does practically nothing.
Leatherface - Knockout. Useful on slugging killers, I guess. Like Twins. But overall, not too useful.
Freddy - Fire Up. Tough choice, though. they all kinda suck. But Blood Warden has some uses, and Remember Me slows the exit gates down.
Pig - Hangman's Trick. Why? Just why?
Clown - Coulrophobia. Who heals in your terror radius?
Spirit - Spirit Fury. Rancor is a useful tracking perk, while Haunted Ground helps protect totems. Spirit Fury is okay when paired with Enduring. But otherwise, a tad unimpressive.
Legion - Iron Maiden. Chances are you'll hear AHHHH AHHH AHHH AHHH as survivors hop in and out of lockers trying to get your attention. Mad Grit is pretty bad too, but at least has some potential use. And Discordance is easily the best perk of Legion's.
Plague - Dark Devotion. Not completely terrible. Can be used to get a sneaky hit on someone. But still not in the same league as corrupt intervention and infectious fright.
Ghostface - Furtive Chase. Only use is that stupid tome challenge where you have to hook the obsession 4 times.
Demogorgon - Cruel Limits. Yeah, good luck ever getting use out of this one.
Oni - Blood Echo. Tough call between it and Zanshin, but I think Zanshin is a little more useful. Blood Echo can be pretty good to stop things like Dead Hard, but getting it to proc at the right time is... yikes.
Deathslinger - Gearhead. Dead Man's Switch at least has minor value of blocking generators.
Pyramid Head - Forced Penance. Doesn't really do much. Oh no, not the broken status effect.
Blight - Hex: Blood Favour. Why is it a hex AND have a cooldown, and a very limited range?
Twins - Hoarder. Not particularly useful. Survivors may not even open chests. ANd if they do, do you really want to go after them over survivors working on gens?
Trickster - No Way Out. Slightly better than Remember Me, but it's not going to really do you much good unless you pair it with NoED.
Nemesis - Hysteria. Perk is interesting, but I think a bit weak with a long cooldown. And doesn't even work with Legion's power.
