  • BBQ - Probably. I find it very useful to know where to go next. Makes up for my lack of game sense.

WGLF - I barely use it now, so yeah, no. Wouldn't use it without its bonus.

  • I'd say use perks you know will help you survive. You have to play a little selfishly and stick to generators. You can offer a hatch location offering, but then the killer will know where the hatch is. That's why I prefer the add-on that shows you the hatch location.

  • @Viciusaurus said:

I'm still trying it, myself. I'm running a pink map, Left Behind, Bond, Iron Will, and Sole Survivor (in case of BBQ). So far, no dice, but can't lose out hope.

I'd recommend the addon that lets you track hatch over Left Behind. Also wouldn't advocate Sole Survivor. Ideally you want your team to just leave or get chased out. I hid in a locker while my team left. It helps if the killer has a one-shot that they might be afraid of.

  • Well finally got it. Used the add-on to help find the hatch, one teammate sadly got tunneled to death. But the rest of us just focused on generators, and the other two left and I hopped through the hatch. Very stressful to do as a solo though, without being able to explain to my teammates what I need to do.

When are we nerfing BBQ? Every killer runs it, so it must be nerfed.

Bingo. Lots of people running =/= overperforming.

  • Survivors can literally disable Trapper's Traps without an item. Seems fair to me that a flashlight can destroy a Hag's traps. Survivors need some sort of counter to them other than just crouching.

  • That's great for PC players who have pre-game chat. But for those of us on console, we can't do that. If I turn Crossplay off on PS5, I will never find a game. And then I have to direct message each of my teammates.

  • Or the Grimm version! Nick Burkhardt for survivor tbh.

  • I don't really care what they do, as long as they do something significant.

  • Twins, Leatherface, and Spirit.

Twins are the worst, because Victor is as fast as cloaked Wraith, has a huge hitbox, can hit over pallets, and has no terror radius. And on top of all of that? While the demon spawn is chasing you, you get 0 BP! Nothing towards chaser! Then you get slugged, and probably lay on the ground for a long time unable to do anything but recover.

Leatherface and Spirit are more because of how people play them, more than anything.

  • Because I don't feel like giving the killer 200k bloodpoints when they inevitably camp me. I feel bad for the killers who don't do that -- but the ones who do (and it's way more frequent during this event than during normal play) are ruining it for them.

I haven't managed to convince survivors that I want to farm. They just push through gens when I don't engage.

Yeah, that's happened to me a lot too. Though usually if I get them all on death hook, they're eager to farm. I've had a lot of matches where there's 3 BNP's, and gens get done super fast.

Usually when there's a DC, or I get them all on death hook, they're pretty eager to farm. I was getting my Oni crown, and someone DC'd, so the others just farmed with me. Sadly I STILL didn't get that stupid challenge where you demon dash for ten seconds, because I mistimed it. I've only had maybe ONE group come to me at the beginning of the match, and indicated "Let's Farm!" (There were 5 cakes, and it was DELICIOUS!). It seems like, oddly enough, SWF are better for farming because they get the message much easier than solo queue, who aren't sure if they can trust the killer.

  • So I hear you like Nemesis. So here's Nemesis with Nemesis.

  • @Tsulan said:

I haven't seen a single farming killer since the event started and I've played at least 10 matches per day.

Not even the ones that use the bloodpoint charm (there was a thread where they said this shows that the killer wants to farm).

Killers: "I don't want to farm."

  • NEW KILLER: THE ICE QUEEN

    LORE:

Adelaide Snowe never knew what love was. Heiress to a billion dollar fortune, she was raised by a strict nanny who insisted she grow up to be a proper young lady. It was this, perhaps, that led her to falling in love with her ski instructor -- a young man named Henry. Adelaide and Henry spent years together, as he taught her a love of ice and love of another human being. Her father never approved, but Adelaide didn't care. She wanted to marry Henry.

On the night of her engagement, Adelaide spent the evening with her friends celebrating the occasion at the Ski Resort where Henry worked. When everyone went home for the night, she went to find Henry -- only to find him in bed with a woman staying at the resort. Henry had her and her boyfriend as students earlier that day. Daggers in her eyes, she confronted him. Henry chased her out into the snow. Adelaide threatened to leave him, and the two struggled. A light shove one way, and Adelaide fell off the cliff. It wasn't the fall that killed her, though. She landed in a snow drift, left there by her now ex-fiance.

The bitter cold made her shiver. She thought rescue crews would arrive shortly. But they never came. As hypothermia set in, a fog set in. It was an invitation. A calling for revenge... and maybe something more. Adelaide's body was never found.

(Note: I do not own this image, but found it to fit the idea of what she might look like)

    PERKS:

    Ice Water Veins

    • You're at your best when under pressure. Every time a generator pops, you receive 3 tokens up to 8/10/12 tokens. When you kick a generator, spend a token. The generator will lose 15% progress instantly.

    Cooldown

    • When things heat up, you know how to keep it cool. Your other perks will cooldown 20/25/30% faster.

    Ice Sight

    • If you've been out of chase for 40/35/30 seconds, you will see the aura of all survivors more than 40 meters away for 4 seconds.

    POWER

    FROSTBITE -

The Ice Queen can throw ICICLES at survivors. These do not damage survivors, but instead increase their cold level. Survivors inside the Ice Queen's terror radius also (slowly) increase their cold level. Survivors can decrease their cold level by going to one of Four Fire's around the map. It takes 5 seconds per level (up to 15 seconds) to reduce cold level to 0.

    Effects of Cold Levels:

Level 1 - Survivor shivers (sounds are as loud as survivor grunts of pain with Iron Will TIer 1)

Level 2 - Survivors suffer from a 5% speed penalty and a 10% repair speed penalty

Level 3 - Survivors are exposed. If Injured, they become broken.

Ice Queen throws Icicles similar to the way Trickster throws blades, but she doesn't have to reload.

Additionally, Ice Queen can use her icicles on Generators to cause them to raise the survivor's Cold Level as they work on them. (Similar to Plague's vomit)

    ABSOLUTE ZERO

The Ice Queen's Secondary Ability Absolute Zero builds up as Survivors use campfires to reduce their cold level. When used, Absolute Zero will instantly raise the cold level of all survivors within her terror radius by 2 levels. Absolute Zero also causes all Camp Fires to be put out, requiring survivors to restart them (Takes 10 seconds)

    Mori

Adelaide impales the survivor with an icicle, straight through the heart.

    INFO

    Speed: 4.6 m/s

    Gender: Female

    Ethnicity: Swiss

    Terror Radius: 24 Meters

    Height: Tall

  • 3 BNP's, gens done in almost no time. 5 cakes. Sadge.

Zero slowdown perks, survivors constantly working on gens, on The Game with several safe pallets.

Nobody is ruining the game. You'll have good games and bad games whatever side you play. Most people -- I say most, aren't out to actively ruin your day. Some are, sure. But I think they're a minority.

  • Rookie Spirit. Completely useless perk.

  • Best way to do this, is to wait until the killer is already in range of the generator. That's what I did at least.

  • Spine Chill. Played a game without it, got tunneled off hook by a Tinkerer Blight. Was NOT fun.

  • Random Lobby

    Earn 3x BP

If you queue up as survivor, you pick your survivor, then all four of your perks are randomized. You get no items to start the trial. You don't know your perks before you enter the game.

If you queue up as killer, you don't know what killer you'll be playing. All four of your perks are randomized. Your add-ons are randomized too.

No offerings allowed. Randomized perks are selected from ALL perks, not just the ones you have unlocked.

  • Just DC when that happens. Killer gets no points. Sure, you don't get any either. But you can move on to your next game a lot faster. There's no DC penalty now.

  • It is kinda weird. I prestiged Legion and Freddy. Freddy has a lot more cakes than Legion. And I took them both to level 50.

  • I feel like she's the loudest character. I have to run Iron Will on her, because she's just too loud.

  • Maybe she had a daily to open the exit gates. IDK hard to say. I've had survivors refuse hatch before. But not during the event. Have only had one killer help me with my crown (well two if you count the doctor who farmed with me) would love to run into killers who care about survivors getting crowns. Even if selfishly wanting the rewards from 500k crowns.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

This whole stupid "decay" is the reason he can't provide any pressure on survivors to begin with.

unlike plague and nemesis you cannot recover from infliction unless you activate an item which could buff the killer in some way.

All you have to do against trickster is hold W in a high wall loop and completely remove any laceration pressure he dealt.

Imagine if you could remove GF exposed over time it would be stupid.

Uh you can remove Ghostface's exposed over time. That's exactly how he works. Now, you can't remove his stalk percent, so he can 99 survivors. But the actual exposed status effect is timed.

  • @Altarf said:

For those who haven't read the dev update, the short of it is the following:

-6 knives to injure, down from 8. (Buff)

-Laceration takes 10 seconds to decay, down from 20, and decays faster when running. (Nerf)

-Main Event activates in 0.5 seconds, down from 1.5. (Buff)

-Main Event can only be used if you have at least 30 knives. (Nerf)

-Main Event holding time increased to 30 seconds, down from 20 seconds. (Buff)

Also various add-on changes which I won't go into.

What do you think? Will edit in a link later to the update, just writing this as I see it.

8 down to 6 is a huge buff for Trickster.

Laceration actually decays faster when NOT running btw. You got this wrong. Higher Numbers = More Decay. Not sure how to feel about that. I'm guessing it's in large part due to the reduced number of knives.

Main Event activating faster is nice.

I'm pretty sure it takes 30 knives to get main event, not that you have to have 30 knives on you. It was 20, now it's 30. I think that's a fair change.

  • I'd guess that the goal is pretty achievable. They looked at last year's data and added new players into account, then set a reasonable goal.

  • My guess is we'll get images of reworked Swamp.

  • A lot of killers will still camp/tunnel. This doesn't solve that problem at all. It just tosses a few BP the survivor's way, which is still probably far less than if they were just in another game with a killer who didn't camp and tunnel. Like, I get it. Sometimes it's a necessary strategy. But there's killers who camp and tunnel at 5 gens left, with Ruin/Undying.

  • Just start bringing BNP's or Keys. If the killer plays nice, then don't use them. If the killer is a jerk, then use them and gen rush the heck out of them.

  • Yeah, I hate offering cake as survivor, then someone ends up losing connection and the killer goes super try hard, and face camps. And they didn't even offer a cake, they had a personal offering to raise their BP only. Makes me wish we could see offerings before entering the trial.

Exactly. This event showed me how ######### up the DBD community really is. And its sad

Sadly it's not the community, it's people in general. You'll find this elsewhere too.

  • It'd be pretty cool if we could signal "FARM GAME?" somehow. That way people who want a regular game can back out, and people who want to farm can do that.

  • Overrated: Pig. I see people put her above bottom tier. She has extremely limited chase power. Pre-dropping pallets against her is stronger than against ANY other killer. She's really good against potatoes, don't get me wrong. But against good survivors? It requires a bit of luck to go your way.

Underrated: Hag. People really don't understand how powerful she can be in the right hands.

Rightly Rated: Nurse. Does anyone disagree she's the top killer?

  • Stealth Killers + Stealth Perks like Tinkerer are why Spine Chill never leaves my loadout.

  • There's only 5 I think. They move around though.

  • Yeah, I've hooked a couple people and killed them without intending to. Yesterday, it was an Adam who I thought I only hooked once. And the other was a Meg who I DID only hook once, but they let her go to second stage, and I didn't realize it.

  • I leveled Jill Roughly 160 times, and got 104 cakes. That's about one every 1.5 levels.

  • Sorry, got all the cakes in the game from getting Jill all the perks at P3. I have 104.

First off the objective of the game for the survivor is too escape and a survivor can't control the true speed of the generators that's completely on the devs yeah yeah you have proved thyself and leader which are perks that the developers put in so you getting mad survivors are doing there objectives....also there are slow down perks you know

Then don't complain about tunneling and camping.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2325540#Comment_2325540

That’ll be because survivors need to escape to get the crown. If there was another requirement to getting the crown, I think people would have played like they normally do. Gen rushing is about the only way I can ensure I leave with a crown & it’s awful. It’s not enjoyable for either side.

The team that gen rushed me didn't even get crowns. All they did was sit on generators. And they had a red forest offering. That would've required them to actually look for the crown. Also most of them were licensed characters who can't get crowns anyway.

  • @van9684 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/262581/why-should-i-use-cake-offerings

Killers are once again ruining the event with the sweaty, entitled play style. Never fails. They only care about getting that 4K with zero effort or skill. It’s boring at this point.

And what about survivors who gen rush, and only care about escaping? Yeah, get out of here with this. I've had ONE group of survivors that cared at all about me getting any BP.

  • I farm if they want to farm. But they have to signal it first. I will, however, usually let people go if they have crowns. If I don't, it's because I forgot how many times i hooked them. I even let them go if they have their anniversary items, cause I don't want them to lose them. I'm a big softie. Way too soft to be a killer, I guess. But as long as I get some BP I'm happy.

  • Did Nurse REALLY need a buff? Now she can throw hatchets with battery add-ons and summon a Myers?! I guess the Devs really do just look at stats. *sigh*

  • The crown respawns. Had a farming match where me and my teammates all got crowns, and then I led the killer to a crown to make sure he got one. Very nice Doctor.

  • I had a Huntress drop me off at the exit gates cause I had a crown. Some people are nice, some people are not. I don't expect nice, but I do appreciate it. So I will show it in return.

    "Who are you again?"

    "The Nea."

interesting would the normal killer be able to damage and break ######### like the ghost

The normal killer would be able to do anything a killer can do now. It'd probably need some kinks worked out, but killers would finally have a mode where they can play with a friend. Killers get lonely too.
