  • I think this covers everything....

How I feel about the current Summer Event in Dead by Daylight: Excited for that sweet sweet new Hillbilly hammer, BUUUUUUUUT (fast forward to 8 seconds.) https://youtu.be/rnzMkJocw6Q?t=8

  • Most recent round. I play nice, I don't tunnel, i get body blocked at three hooks, I get "pity" drop only to be d-struck and the survivor runs out the exit tea bagging the whole way.

I get too many more of these I'm bringing an ebony....

  • While I DO like him I am having issues with survivors literally running through my traps and not setting them off, or for some reason people somehow vaulting OVER the god damn things when placed on the other side of a window.

After about the fourth or fifth game of this I've basically stopped playing him.
  • I believe the devs had stated they didn't want to involve in game voice chat because the realm of The Entity is sort of like being asleep and you can't talk in your dreams.

Of course we also weren't going to ever get a Clown killer so who knows lol
  • Myers does too to some extent.  It also makes the cloak of an approaching Wraith harder to spot. Plus if you have All-Seeing Eye, mist REALLY isn't an issue.

Consoles in general have been plagued with FPS issues this most recent patch and that's something that they're already aware of.
  • My Pig build that's only had one altered perk to it's roster since patch: Ruin, Overcharge, Pop Goes, STBFL (Formerly NOED or MYC)
  • LukaKovac said:
When i played pig for the first time, sirvivors opened exit and i downed one of them next to thr gate and he was crawling to exit and i was like oh he has bear trap he cant escape and he escaped by crawling with bear trap on him please fix that
The devs actually commented on a post like this before. Basically what it amounts to is that there is an invisible line. If the Pig either drops the survivor and traps them on the other side of the line, or carries them to the exit and drops them in an attempt to auto-kill them, it won't work.

This was a purposeful thing put in place. It's basically meant to prevent Pigs from just using NOED, bear trapping survivors, dropping them in the exit, and auto-killing them.
  • With all do respect pop your head over to the killer section. It goes both ways lol. I do agree though the toxicity that exists between both sides is very inappropriate but it's not just one side.

  • Honestly big maps like rotten fields, wrecker's yard and blood lodge coupled with spray and pray. I don't have it myself but that makes the most sense to me.
  • Depends on the team and the map paired with the add-ons you're using. Big maps are best for Game Over kills whereas small maps are best for ambush attacks. As odd as it sounds middle sized maps are generally the ones I struggle the most with her.
  • Oh random note should you see some Object of Obsession users. Don't put too much effort into chasing them. OoO users have a complex 9 times out of 10 where if you ignore them for a prolonged period of time that they'll feel a need to run up to you and get you to notice them. They'll make mistakes and that'll be your time to attack.
  • @Confused_Senpai I added more to my post as well though I don't think you saw it. It was an edit since I didn't want to double post.
  • If traps regenerate I think it should be a similar timer to that of Trapper's sabotaged traps perhaps giving Hangman's Trick more viability by allowing it to make them regen faster as it does with Trapper.

As for the activation bit I honestly think the activation on generators isn't bad if they make Rule Set 2 part of her base kit otherwise it should be on generator if they are able to wiggle off the killer's shoulder or on unhook if they get hooked.

As for add-ons I think maybe make it so there's one that reduces skill check size on Jigsaw boxes,  one that can make skill checks randomly come from the other direction, and maybe change Amanda's Letter to be purple as opposed to iridescent since other aura reading add-ons amongst other killers that allow such things are purple.

My last QoL change for her would maybe make it so her snarl occurs while the charge is happening and not while the charge is charging up.
  • It's because for whatever reason hatch doesn't count as "an escape."

That's why the "escape with new item" daily and adept achievements need to escape through the gate to happen. If you escape through hatch you don't get them.
  • One of the most important things I can offer is to look with your ears. Grass is very loud in this game and can be a telltale sign someone is near. Also survivors grunt when they enter lockers so listen out for that too. If you get blinded by a survivor, listen for the off click to get an idea of where they're headed or for their grunts of pain if they're injured. Auditory ques will help you a LOT once you recognize them.

There ain't no way Thanataphobia is useless, not with how many killers run it in there builds.

Yes Killers use it a lot but it's mostly a psychological debuff more than a physical one. I've used it in the past but RARELY were there circumstances where I could get it to full effect. Generally the moment I injure one, all other i injured people are healed. In short your only usually increasing their repair/heal times by the smallest amount.
  • Yeah. Moves it around like any other skill check.
  • @Zarathos hell even on HIM it's been weak lately. Four matches in a row as Doctor with Unnerving active. I down an Obsession and they are T3 insanity. Every god damn one of the lands the d-strike skill check.
  • Obviously you've not faced a super stealth Doctor lol. Stack those two add-ons that reduce terror radius in Punishment mode and toss an M&A on for good measure. Scares the CRAP out of people to have a Doctor like that.

As for Myers, M&A removes that 8 meter TR in Tier 1, so you have none in Scratched Mirror build. Plus Dead Rabbit with M&A gives T2 a similar TR.

But for WORTHLESS Perks, Surveillance is certainly the worst currently. That and Thanatophobia. I mean YES it slows, but the extent of that slow really doesn't make it worthwhile. Let us also not forget Spies From the Shadows. A perk used so little that even top tier streamers aren't even aware during their random perk builds that they've received a Spies alert lol.

  • 1.) There's an open gate nearby

2.) I hear something. Usually a breathe, grass movement, or footsteps.

3.) Scratch marks that run to the hook but don't leave.

4.) Last second flashlight swapping punks that just follow me the entire match and do nothing but attempt to blind me as I turn around EVERY GOD DAMN CORNER.

  • If that's the case it might not be that the Killer didn't WANT to pick you up but couldn't. If survivors can't heal you that means you aren't targetable by them or the Killer. You generally see that glitch with Trapper.

  • The birds are for people who are AFK. At a certain number of birds it actually triggers an alert like a failed skill check for the killer. Otherwise it's just the noise. They go away after you've moved for a bit or work on generators.

They were put in place because people would basically dick over their teammates by hopping into a locker and stay in there the entire match.

The term "This is why we can't have nice things" is an apt description.
  • One of the few recent survivor matches I was in I went against a Leatherface. Within the time he finally downed someone and camped them the entire time we had finished 3 generators, almost 4, and had broken his Ruin totem.

Yes being camped sucks but the worst things you can do in that circumstance are 1.) dc, 2.) Struggle, and 3.) attempt to rescue the person being camped.

If you truly wish to stick it to the person camping, don't go for the rescue, be as malicious and sadistic as you can on the hook by making that bastard wait the entire length of time with you on the hook.

I say this as a killer main who generally will not camp unless I'm near an open door or it's one of those "special" survivors who's bent on making your life hell.

  • I make use of this play quite frequently though in a different way. I've said it many times on the forum but I have lost track of the number of people who have active trapsthat attempt to push me off the hatch as opposed to actually trying to get the trap off their heads instead.
  • I'm in agreement that that's b.s. If the killer dc's within a short amount of time into the match or before the match even starts it should at least count as a safety pip.

  • With all due respect while I DO agree that survivors dcing at the beginning of the match sucks, even with at third hook DC it is bad. To use an example: I was playing Myers on Rotten Field. Just before I got one of them to a hook as they got the gates open, the person dced, removing my ability to use Blood Warden.

Any time a survivor dc's it is not only detrimental to their team but to the killer as well. And whether or not I'm nice to the ones that remain depends on the level of toxicity I've received up to that point.
  • That and exactly when NOT to use it.... I've lost track of the number of people I'm chasing who Dead Hard somehow into the basement stairwell....

  • When a survivor does this and has nowhere NEAR the skill to back it up lmfao....

  • Yeah first hand experience as a Wraith. You can indeed be Lightburned when you're not looking at the person.

As for Nurse, only ever seen it pulled off once in recent matches and I'm fairly certain it was because the Nurse in question was fairly new to the killer.

Quicky caveat, hold off on buying all those expensive customizations until you're certain you like the killer.
  • Do not forget all the BNPs for the lunar gens. I think another reason why they get nerfed now is because of the upcoming summer event.
What me personally triggered the most back then were the „balance“ changes they released. It was so triggering that I only unlocked the cosmetics and stopped playing, until they reverted it.
Yeah I quit until the event was over as well. I think that was around the time one of the devs said "If you don't like the changes play another game."
  • I forget who it was but someone uploaded their streamed hatch stand-off and ate his dinner, worked on some of his paper taxes on stream, whole bunch of stuff, then stepped off screen. The survivor's buddy was stream sniping him and let the in game survivor know to jump. Unbeknownst to the survivors, the streamer had a wireless controller and was waiting on the guy to jump and yanked him out.
  • Give Nurse something like The Dancer of the Boreal Valley song in Dark Souls 3.

Clown like a demonic version of Pop Goes the Weasel.
  • The caveat ofcourse being that even though killers would camp people, as long as their teammates were working generators the hooked person would still get tokens. A full sabo or flashlight team could have full red envelopes played and prevent the killer from ever getting a hook.
  • During the initial bit of it things were fine. But then halfway through it the Devs altered flashlights and pallet slams so that the stuns would release picked up survivors immediately after the pick up animation was complete. I believe this was also the period of time where the nurse was getting double stunned after successful hits on survivors. So after that patch hit you had multiple last second swapper teams bent on just being dicks. That or sabo teams going out of their way to break every holiday hook in play to prevent the killer from being able to use them. Flip side you also had killers camping and tunneling, but I didn't go for the survivor skin until after so we were WELL into the Howling Grounds at that point.
  • And therein enters the problem. Both sides are at fault in many ways.

Survivors swapping in flashlights at the last second to be troll pricks and simply blind the killer any time they get.

Killers that dc the moment their totem is broken.

Obsessions that dc the moment they are dropped or fail a d-strike.

95% of the cannibal mains that refuse to get good with the killer beyond camping, tunneling, or 1-hook moriing.

Don't even get me STARTED on the behavior of people during the Howling Grounds event. Honestly I feel as though that's when the toxicity went into high gear on both sides and I don't know if relations can be mended so we can talk about this sort of stuff objectively and not like a couple of rival high school sports teams...
  • Potentially the hardest is Hag. At least currently. Reason being all three of her perks have the potential of being removed leaving you a perkless killer vs an onslaught.

Easiest probably Billy. Protection from pallet stuns, flashlights, and either a faster saw now or no terror radius for 12 seconds come next patch, he's got a lot going for him.

  • That's kinda the point of this post. The blood and scratches aren't always appearing
  • I'm honestly glad it's not just me. It's really hard to tell some times when it's this thing acting up or an actual juke.

  • It's entirely possible. A couple of the times though I literally saw them disappearing into the distance with no scratch marks or blood and then it suddenly picked back up with markings. 500+ hours I ain't perfect by any means lol. It just is very odd that this suddenly has been happening since the clown patch.
  • Oh yeah... it's there and definitely odd... Chainsaw charged someone that dropped a pallet as I got stunned it allowed them to turn and then they dropped as though the charge finally registered. I let them get healed up because that was total bs.
  • @yeet to be fair the topic creator DOES possess a point.

That being said. @aarongai the nurse has a HIGH skill cap. To be one-hundred percent honest I am terrible at her. Even at my best with her I'm not good. The problem if there is one with Nurse is that her kit is VERY closely treading a thin line. There was a glitch a few months back that gave the nurse a double stun. She was literally unplayable until it got fixed. If any changes get made they need to be closely monitored otherwise she'll drop down to Freddy tier.
  • Tunneling isn't even a real thing if you ask me, just an excuse to explain why they feel angry after they lose.

-laughs- apparently you've never been on the receiving end of a tunnel so bad you should've brought a flashlight cause that's how pitch black it is in here.

Playing killer let's you see what some of the stuff people pull as survivors do and yeah...  Me leading a killer on a chase for four generators and they're STILL chasing after me is the definition of a tunnel.
  • -survivors bring in multiple BNP's

-I'm just trying to get my Huntress Hatchet Hit daily done. Not a TRASH Huntress but not great. That and the blood web has not been kind to me on her save for one thing: NOED3

And so the final generator pops and I down and kill three people due to NOED.

Thusly the end game chat was filled with people going off on me using NOED on Huntress until I point out all their BNP's. There was silence and I'm fairly certain they all left. I just started laughing.
  • That's rather stupid. The whole point of "blindness" is to remove all that stuff. Could a sworn I never saw the circle while I was under the influence of it but I may have been remembering improperly.
  • Or maybe just straight up remove 1/2/3 survivors ability to read aura with no stipulations of needing to hit them.

Also @Master blindness removes the ability to see hook locations including the bubble. So you wouldn't be able to see downed people or hooked people while it was active.
  • Best add-on for her is most certainly rule set 2.

Next up is Tampered Timer and Jigsaw's Anointed Plan. Both work well with Rule Set 2.

Green ones all basically suck. I mean mangled from Rusty Attachments is ALRIGHT.  It could be WORSE but in all honesty is not that powerful. All the others are just jank.

The yellow ones are generally what I use the most. I mean the only one that's bad is the utility wire. Messing with survivor's heads so they don't know when their teammates are coming for them with Face Mask? Awesome. An extra bear trap with Last Will? Yes please. Utility Blades so that survivors bleed even when fully healed. Also awesome. And Video Tape for those crouch plays.

Seriously out of all her add-ons that aren't common only 7.5 of them are useful. The fact that the uncommons rock out and destroy the vast majority of the rarer ones combined is just kinda sad...
  • Blood Warden on Myers. I have no idea why no one sees it coming. It's absolutely beautiful to see three survivors who obviously aren't looking forward running up against the blocked off exit, strafing against the wall.

  • Best part is Franklin's as Hag or Trapper when you trap their dropped item after... Mehehehehe.....

  • Entering a lobby as a Pig with four SWF all with toolboxes. Three of them with BNP's and getting a 4k. My GOD that was a fight and I hope I remembered to have OBS open to record that but knowing me I did it off stream >_<

  • Honestly depends on a few things. Ironically as of late the only thing I've seen multi-flashlight teams do is clicker macro. No actual blinding. Truth be told I can get around by strictly sound fairly well so I tend to use Franklin's since it also causes a psychological factor of them trying to get their flashlight back which gets me a second hit.
