It would be nice if you could just skip it on your end. Like the animation still plays out for everyone else in the game, but you don't have to watch it for the millionth time.
That is a great idea, something like "Press Scape to skip".
I guess they won't lose their time with animations that for now are beautiful enough? It's just a money loss. BHVR is well knowed for the dilema "if it works, I won't change anything, even for the sake of the our loved comunnity who endure all the ######### we spit on them"

Surge and deathslinger is fantastic. Being able to pull survivors into gens repair zone is devastatingly strong. My favorite way to regress gens as slinger since it eats no time kicking gens. Outside of slinger it is pretty bad espicially because of the m1 clause. Just why?
YES I agree. I've started my journey to P3-50 all perks on him and I've been using the perks that I had, which Surge was one of them, and it's amazing. I played so much with Surge that after I replaced it another perk, the difference of not using it was noticeable.
I wish the cooldown on Surge was removed ot at least lowered, such a great perk!

I got it done last night, too. It was a longer slog than usual because of the killer challenges. I don’t own Clown at all and all of the Billy ones are repetitive and ridiculous. I’m lucky if I hit one person with the saw in a match, no way I’m going to do 5 or 6. Lol
I did somehow manage 4 stuns in a round against a Legion player. Not sure how that happened either because pallet stuns are still one of my weak skills as survivor.
Does really playing Billy is that hard? Like getting 5-6 chainsaw hits are hard? I'm really not flexing or anything, but I find it very strange how much people struggle with him. How much hours do you have in DBD?
-
Isn't it amazing that one specific perk is used 95% of the games in high ranks and everyone who plays Killer, the first thing we remember when downing someone is "does this guy gave DS?", "oh there's a obsessesion, DS"
Like, why the developers let such a perk have so much importance that every match all Killer needs to remember it. Like you don't ever see someone saying "better be careful with that boil over/buckle up/flip-flop/lucky break/pharmacy/insert any X perk here that isn't in the meta".
That's so wrong, no perk should have that impact on the Killer's gameplay EVERY MATCH.
-
Just another bug, happenes to me too.
-
I really don't. I assume most SWF would use it since it would be very strong, but at least it refreshes the meta, and so people will tend to combo with other perks.
-
It's just another of these perks that suffers from the "cooldown" thing. It would be good and useable if it didn't have the cooldown.
They could just test things out and change the values, like removing the cooldown of Blood Favour, Surge, etc.. and see the results, but they don't even try to see a new way to change perks, they just release it and let it gather dust in a corner, just consuming our disk space for nothing and stocking useless lines codes for these perks.
-
I find stupid that they released this skin as a "special event". All frosty eyes were just added automatically for most Killer, it just looks like they don't have anything to give us in the christimas event so they just give anything random.
-
Yeah ignoring the bugs that comes with every new chapter release (with also the old ones from previous chapter which they don't fix), the grind to get ALL PERKS is ridiculous, we have almost 200 perks for each side.
Just remove the perk tier, that alone would be of great help. It was a cool additiong when the game released with like 20 perks, it needed some grind, but now, with the actual game state, NO!
I also like to mention I hate some perk tier that change like 1 second duration to 2 second or something like that.
-
The only problem about sounds I had recently was survivor not making any noises while downed, and generator which are inside buildings you can't hear them from far away, you need to be close like 5 meters or completely inside the building.
-
To be honest, almost all perks except some 15 perks, needs to be changed to be in pair with the meta.
They're too weak and devs are afraid to change to drastic number. They PTB for nothing I guess? They could release perks change every week in the PTB to see the outcome and release it to live servers.

Oh #########, don't give them ideas :(
I really don't care about Rift skins coming to the store. But I do like exclusives because it's kinda a reward for you to be playing the game at that specific time.
For example, people with Legacy skins, we recognice them as old players that played back in 2016, it's a reward for old players and exclusive to them, which is cool because it kinda makes your "signature" of how much you played the game.
The way BHVR is leading the non exclusive thing is because they just want your money. They give everyone the outfits from past events because they didn't like people were selling codes for the skins, it's a big ######### YOU for everyones who playes this game for a long time.
The only thing that show how much we played is our devotion level, which is hidden for everyone and almost no cosmetics can show how much you played the game.
-
Branch op please BHVR nerf it!
-
They could do it, but I guess it's not worth it? They already have the whole game built in using Steam servers so I guess it's just a loss of money.
It really sucks when it happens during a match but thats why I always stop playing when the maintenance is going to happen.
-
"expect dead hard to not work" Well everyone knows that DH isn't reliable in these situations when the Killer is hugging your back, so just use it to get distance. If you managed to fail 4 DH's it comes to my mind that you're being mind gamed too much on loops or running randomly and waiting a 50/50 to try it.
-
Yeah. What a special event right? It's exactly what the community wanted, 10k of BPs in our Christmas, that only happens one time per year.
Can the team just please DELETE this event and give us bloodhunt for 1/2 weeks again?
-
300k in ONE MONTH. I can get 300k of BPs by playing 5-6 matches as Killer with BBQ in one day. That's ridiculous, this event is ridiculous and stupid.
-
I guess If you're the last survivor, you could try to unhook, if you fail by reaching struggle phase, you will automatically be killed.

Make it so simply bringing another survivor "up" one health state is enough to activate it, as opposed to filling an entire bar.
It feels pretty stupid to heal someone 99% of the way on your own, then someone else joins in on the heal for a nanosecond and you get cucked out of activating the perk.
It's a perfectly fine effect once it's activated in my opinion, just has to be easier to activate in the first place.
I believe this always work in this way. I was using Second Wind these days, I unhooked a survivor and I started healing him, after 50%, some random dude just came up and helped me healing, after the healing was completed, I had my Second Wind ready to go.
Also I don't find it fair to just "tap" on a survivor when he's almost done healing.
Another thing I don't link about this perk is because it can only be used 2 times. It should have more trigger activations.

That about sums it up, but I will say that BHVRs only excuse can be that they're focusing on graphical reworks.
Which sounds like a fair point, but what's stopping them from reusing the hallowed blights mechanics, or moonrise's?
Maybe it will be too much work to use the same code since the game changed a lot recently? It just shows off how they coded the game in a way that it's not flexible, or they don't want the same event. For me, I would prefer the copypaste of the old event at least.
-
General
It's such a great game concept. I really don't know what to think about the team behind it. Recently they're just making bad decisions. These are the two options I can think of about them:
- The developer team has great ideas and good changes for the game but the person(s) responsable to approve them doesn't allow them to implement, maybe because the input money will exceed the output and they will lose money, idk.
- The developers don't care about the experience of the playerbase and thus dont make any changes, only what matter is their money output.
The game went from great events, hotfixes all weeks and priotized fixing bugs from just a game that do all it can to grab the customer money, shaving contents to our throats without even fixing the before chapter bugs. And after all that #########, they are still trying to compensate with this bad calendar event.
The community yells for changes in multiple things in the game, they take 2 years to make these changes(perk changes, killer changes, anything), they just take so much time to make any decision. And sometimes they change things that we event didn't asked.
I will still be playing this game because I have nothing better to play of this genre, but I hope that 2021 will be the year that BHVR will redeem themselves, with great contents and events.
About the calendar event:
I guess the only thing worth is the sweater? That you need to waste time on their social medials to get the stupid codes, instead of just giving to whoever logs in. We get 10k per day of BPs, which is useless since you can only get 2-3 items from the bloodweb with it, and the bloodweb is already expensive.
"Ah but counting all the total days you will get 300.000 of BPS". I can play 5 matches with BBQ to get the same amount. This is ridiculous, this was supposed to be an event. You need to think of all the playerbase of the game, either could made the rewards of shards and bloopoints to scale with player devotion, so veterans can get more rewards for it and new players can still enjoy it.
We're in December, we don't have a Winter event and they said they will not focus on other events anymore, only in important ones. December is a very important month of the year, we should at least receive Bloodhunt for 1-2 weeks again to compensate all this mess.
-
I just tested it here, my results:
I managed to use the same camera angles and position to test this out.
With normal speed, I keep going forward for 9 seconds, and then stopped. I was here:
Then using Frenzy, I was here:
I've tested this multiple times just to be sure I was correct.
So in 9 seconds, I walked (4.6 x 9) = 37,8 meters.
In 9 seconds WITH frenzy, I walked (? X 9) = 42,8 meters (37 + I guess 4-5 meter based on the distance of the original position)
So in resume, I managed to walk with frenzy 43 meters compared to the normal speed with 37 meters.
Legion is supposed to walk 5.2 in Frenzy, (5.2 X 9) = 46.8 meters, almost 47 meters, a difference of ~5 meters.

Im guessing you're referring to Ruin and PGTW. What about Oppression though? I use it all the time now. It's great with surveillance.
As for these suggested changes. Yeah don't reduce the range. 32m already feels like it's too short since most of the time the survivors will run more than 32m away from the gen when you approach. Other than that I like it. Especially with the lack of need for basic attack means that Demogorgon himself can fully enjoy his own perk unlike now. But I don't think the devs would go for this since it'd make it rival meta perks.
I completely forgot about Oppression, now that you mentioned, I'm sure it's a really good combo for gens information, I will try it later.
They just need to edit some 10 lines of code to make it work on any attack, really sad devs won't listen, as always.
-
Sigh, I just wanted the cooldown to be removed.
Dead by Cooldown Bars, yeeeey...
-
Don't lower the radius, let it be 32m or maybe it should scale with the current TR of the Killer.
I'm so mad we have only 2 decent perks to regress gens. Some simple change in a perk can make it viable.
-
If money is not involved in the idea, it's not gonna happen.
The game is alive for 4 years, there's 6 pages of perks for survivor and Killer and yet we don't have a simple system to filter perks by name.
-
I guess you're luck then? I have never found a hacker on my 2.k400 hours.
-
Also Freddy is such a generic Killer, he's just a M1 Killer that can teleport and slow down survivors in loops, that's it, he doesn't have a unique mechanic to him like the old version of him had. I prefered the old version.
-
@BadMrFrosty said:
How about they keep him powerful and just make him, I dunno.. INTERESTING? I used to play a ton of old Freddy, and yes, while he was total crap compared to the current version, he could be really fun (Spooky Fred especially). That version of him could've been buffed enough to be viable and unique, but BVHR instead went with "Let's make clown and hag with a generator teleport." I mean come on, it's Freddy! The guy can do anything and that's what they settled on. My leg. MY LEG.
Yep, I liked playing with old Freddy. The best thing was some block addons that made survivors sleep in 4 SECONDS instead of 7!! It was funny because most of the times I managed to grab survivors off totems and generators xD
-
Balance team be like: "We need some way to nerf Freddy, what should we do?"
"Let's just slap some overheat bar on him and call it a day"
Like everyone is saying, he do too much for the low effort it requires. I find it a nice idea to remove the sleep timer passive, so in order to get his power to work on Survivors he needs to hit them first.
It doesn't resolve 100% of the problems but hey, at least now he needs to work for his power.
-
That's a common bug, You do not receive the damage, but you survivor model will imitate all animations when the Killer interacts with another Survivor(hit the air, hit a survivor, hooks another survgivor, grab another survivor, etc..), being hooked seems to resolve this. But it's a cool bug.

No I was at like 860,000 or something when I got the 10,000. Played for like about 2 hours, then went over 1 million. I know that if you’re at 1 million and you get the daily login, it goes over. But that’s not what happened here
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1794770#Comment_1794770
yeah maybe the daily login triggered it to be a max of 1,010,000
The Bloodpoints from codes and dailyes goes to a separated "bank account" from your norma bloodpoints, so it sums with it, after you spend what's been added to the "bank account", it won't pass from 1.000.000 again.
-
Why the Killer must be punished if he accomplished his objective to kill all survivors?
If you are the last survivor and theres still gens to do, you failed your objective. And even after that, the game allows you another chance to escape via Hatch, which is a stupid mechanic and should be removed.
-
Yeah the Chade music is the same that plays for the survivor. Oni is having the same issue too.
-
Yes. They really need to fix the base game of bugs before adding new content. They keep releasing new contents and leaving a pile of bugs to fix to the next chapter, and this pile has accumulated so much that the code is probably hard to mantain and they just keep ignoring it.
-
Yes you can, I just tested it.

David's inability to wear clothing is a well known issue. Could you post the names of these problem cosmetics so the DBD team knows exactly what is clipping into what. Thanks.
I think they can discover it by themselves, it's their job and they should be aware of the cosmetic name since they made the animations for the models.
-
That's not a surprise. It's been like this for years.
The matchmaking of DBD is a total mess. When I'm playing solo, these situations always happens:
- My 3 other teammates are god survivors that know how to play the game and the Killer don't have game sense and end up being stomped.
- My 3 other teammates are potatoes and the Killer has a good game sense and end up stomping them while I'm also being draggued along with them because the Killer isn't dumb to spend time chasing the only decent survivor.
I prefer my queues to be longer to have balanced matches with my team knowing how to play and the KIller knowing what he's doing than being in these scenarios.
There's no gap to show skill in this game. You know that by reaching higher ranks in most games its a indication of skill, you will playing with people with the same game awarenes as you, but in DBD, the only thing who separates the good and bad survivor/Killer is the luck from the matchmaking.

thanks for the offer, but i'll pass uwu

The thing with Pyramid Head is that he can hit you from far away, while Billy and Leather can't. Billy can curve but his saw don't go over windows and walls or any obstacles, while Bubba can only down you if he's close.
So there's no need for such cooldown.

This is good. Without DBD this man would be out trying to murder people. Praise be to the devs.
Said the man with the ghostface pic xD

That's normal. On my region, during the day, survivor queue times are fast(like 30 seconds), but Killer queue are long (4+ minute), but during the night, the table shifts, survivor queues is long and Killer queue are fast like 15 seconds.
Seems like people only like to play Killer during the day*

There's no need to attack the Dev team here, expecially when the aim is to make fun perks, not ones people will routinely never swap out, or that would push the game in a pay to win direction.
"not ones people will routinely never swap out" It's not to turn the game into a pay to win, it's to give us more flexiblity in our builds, we are stuck with the same perks as always because there's no better option. They don't change old perks to make them stronger and so, the meta will never change.
@CustomerService said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1764678#Comment_1764678
Yeah, let’s release perks that are instant guaranteed hits instead. Never improve or try to play well. Demand the game to carry you at all times.
Jesus ######### Christ.
I don't want to be the "what about x thing", but do you realise that most perks are designed this way? NOED gives you instadown, Hex: Ruin gives you free regression, Corrupt Intervention blocks gens for free, Decisive Strike free escape from Killer's grasp, Dead Hard free distance, and the list continues... Most perks requires no work yet their effects are great, so I don't see any problem with a perk that can be used only 5 TIMES in one match.
By reading your comments, it looks like you only play survivor? The only thing you complain is about KIller's side, and reaching rank 1 means nothing, anyone can achieve that, thats why we have so many unskilled survivors in red ranks with no game sense that complains about everything, get it? :)
-
Yeah, another perk to throw on the pile of useless perks that no one will use, nice job balance team.
