Exactly how long do you want your queue times to be?
I would gladly wait longer for a better chance at a fair and fun match.
-
Can someone please tell me what the DS change is because I can't find anything. Only seeing people talk about it.
-
Well I just had another match where the killer decided to take me to basement and stand still beside me the entire time. My team did try to save me but they just knocked me right down again both times and of course used their mori on me after the 2nd time. This is why I will never recommend this game to anyone. Toxic behavior like this ruins the survivor experience.
This game NEEDS an avoid or block option for killers that survivors do not want to play against. I do not want to play against killers that are going to camp me until I die. I don't care if the feature will have a limit or whatever. I just want an option to block certain killers from being matched up against me. There is no reason to play against a killer that camps you.
-
Well, am I able to access my block list in game anywhere? I can't find anything and apparently I'm unable to block more people which I don't see why that is a thing if it is. I used to see an unblock option after blocking people in game but now it just says block again after I try.

I agree that we do need an unranked mode. The matchmaking would be a bit of a nightmare since one gamemode can barely get any players in a decent amount of time but you never know.
Even though we disagree with eachother on some things, I appreciate you being civil with me throughout this whole ordeal. The forums are meant for debating topics & I love that!
But does anyone ever ask the question why the match making sometimes takes long in the current mode and may take long in another one if they add it? I personally know people that quit this game a long time ago due to toxic killers and insanely overpowered abilities and they have never come back. The game needs to have things that attract new people and make them stay. That tunnel or camped experience is not going to be something thats going to make people keep playing. The instant down abilities are also very quickly going to make people not be interested in having to deal with that again. Fun brings people to games. DBD would get a lot of return players if changes were made. I think it would also bring in a lot of new players if the game had more modes and playing survivor was a more fun experience.

And that happens how often in solo que?
This happens very often in solo que. Solo que is by no means as good as a SWF, but if you're in high ranks you'll usually get better teammates than not. Sure it isn't 100%, but nothing is ever 100%. You have to look at every match as a whole. If you win 7/10 games, those 3 games don't cancel the fact that you win more than you lose. That's just my 2 cents anyway. If you're in low ranks, I'd understand more of where you're coming from.
They are not fair.
They are definitely fair because of the reason I've said multiple times: counterplay. I can agree with your point that maybe they aren't fun to go against, but fair vs fun is a completely different conversation. There are too many instadown things in this game for BHVR to do a full 180 & remove all of it. Therefore, you have to adapt and learn to play against it. I don't see my mind being changed on this.
It sounds to me you're very bias and just want survivors to have a miserable time in this game.
It's funny you say that, because I haven't played more than 1 killer game in weeks. Killer is absolutely miserable to play & that is why the queue times are getting longer. If you haven't noticed, almost every new post on the forums this week has been about queue times. I'd rather chill & play survivor than play as killer on the edge of my seat the whole game. Shouldn't that be the opposite? Just because I'm voicing my opinion on a discussion on killers doesn't mean I'm biased. You don't see me calling you biased, do you?
Without people playing survivor, there is no DBD
Without people playing killer, there is no DBD. It's the exact same thing for both sides. There are far less killer players than survivor players.
Your example by the way is not a universal example of every match
Humor me with an example then? Not every game goes the same, I'm speaking for the majority.
You forget that a survivor missing a skill check is going to notify the killer exactly where you are.
You forgot that a killer chasing a survivor is going to notify all of the other survivors to stick to gens & rush the game to be over. There is pressure on both sides, not just survivor.
Survivor should not have to rely on perfection to have a chance at escaping
Survivors have eachother to fall back on, 1 mistake on their end is not enough to end a game. Killers however can only rely on themselves, so 1 mistake from them could potentially do just that. You've made some decent points (even if I don't agree with them) in this discussion, but this just isn't one of them.
I only care about this game being fun. It only has 1 mode for solo players: ranked and I hate that. It puts all kinds of players into a single mode that has a rank up incentive for some players to play completely different than others. I just want to have fun and I strongly believe this game needs more modes to play. Reverse roles just for fun or simply a non rank mode maybe? Every time you go into a match solo you're taking a risk of who is going to be on your team. I have noticed in my experience that being in red rank or any rank below you still often get people who either just care about doing their ritual/challenge or just want to mess around with the killer. I think the reason why this happens is because there is only 1 solo game mode and nowhere else for players to go that aren't interested in rank.
The power difference between killers and survivors is not fair in my opinion. We can go back and forth and keep saying the opposite on that but I will not change my mind on this until I see the fruit of change happen in the game itself. The mori change was a start but its only a start. Instant down abilities are not fair. If a killer can achieve their objective in downing and hooking a survivor in a matter of seconds when it takes me over a minute to do a generator by myself that does not feel fair to me. The try hard nature of many killers in this game ruins it for me.

It is absolutely true if the survivors play their cards right. I've seen and played games where the survivors blow gen after gen & have the exit gates open before the killer even landed a single hit. How do you call that having an upper hand? Not to mention, survivors will always have a teammate to "fall back" on if they screw up, while a killer does not & if they make a single mistake they could potentially lose the whole game without recovery.
Preaching a killer is OP just because you don't like instadown mechanics (Bubba, Devour Hope, addons) is absurd to me and is the reason why killers always get nerfs they shouldn't. I play survivor all the time & would rather go against a chainsaw spamming Bubba than a Spirit. Wanna know why? Because you can actually play around the Bubba, while Spirit is just one big guessing game since there is no indication that she is phasing. Killers like this are the ones that need the nerfs imo
"If the survivors play their cards right." And that happens how often in solo que? And that also doesn't happen all the time even in SWF. It is not true in the slightest that the survivor and killer power levels are fair. Instant down abilities ruin this game. They just simply ruin it. They are not fair. They are not fun. You say killers always get the nerfs they shouldn't. It sounds to me you're very bias and just want survivors to have a miserable time in this game. Without people playing survivor, there is no DBD. Killers are not nerfed enough. They have WAY too much power. A killer should NOT under any circumstance be able to instant down a survivor especially with the ability to play perks like dyeing light that make it nearly impossible to do generators under pressure. Your example by the way is not a universal example of every match. You forget that a survivor missing a skill check is going to notify the killer exactly where you are. Survivor should not have to rely on perfection to have a chance at escaping.

While I think instadown addons are slightly unfair (especially Huntress's), instadown killers are not because there are obvious play-arounds. In Bubba's case, jungle gyms & holding W/L3 is your best friend. Same thing could be applied to PPhead.
I also wanted to mention that killers do not come into a match with more power than the survivors. It is absolutely fair game as nobody has made a move yet. Survivors haven't completed a gen & killers haven't landed a hook. Simple as that.
This is simply not true. Killers absolutely do enter the match with more power than the survivors. They are faster than survivors and have a unique power. It is not fair game at all. The power difference between killers and survivors is beyond ridiculous. The cannibal is an overpowered and unfair killer to play against. No killer should have an instant down ability as their power simply by pressing a button. There is no requirement to having this power. Its just there. It is killers like this (and also toxic players that play killer in a toxic manner) that not only make me want to stop playing the game but also influences my decision on recommending this game to people I know. This game is going to have to go through a lot more changes which involves a major decrease in killer powers (removing instant downs as a start) and a major increase in survivor power.
-
Instant down abilities are a major killjoy in DBD. When I see a killer playing an instant down addon or a cannibal chainsaw spamming I just want to stop playing the game (and often do). Its just not fun to play against at all. Killers come into the match already with way more power than the survivors. To give them an instant down ability just dramatically lessens the chance for fun for the survivors. I do hope they do something about instant downs.

Most killers camp for the survivors to go to struggle mode then mori them. So don't dare say that it's unbalanced!
I've seen this happen and honestly before it becomes a bigger problem and more killers camp hooks to 2nd stage for mori it should be changed to actually require 2 hooks and not just reaching the 2nd hook stage.
-
Keys and moris are 2 entirely different things and are not the balance or imbalance to each other. Keys are necessary in many circumstances for survivors when there is literally no other way out. You also have to be sure the objectives were met and you even find the hatch or you're the last survivor and you still find the hatch after the killer does. Survivors can't just use keys whenever. Mori before the change was just completely unfun to play against. Now they are finally balanced and not a complete annoying nightmare. I've always felt mori should be more of a "cosmetic" ability (if that makes sense, couldn't think of a better word) rather than something that gives the killer any kind of advantage over the survivor. If you think about it though it still does give a n advantage over survivors in which it denies the third hook and the chance to wiggle free or be saved from it.

Make it to red ranks sweetie. Then we can talk. At your level, survivors are so bad the broken nature of keys is needed.
I'm rank 4 survivor and I've already spoken.
-
I wonder how many of those survivor votes are killer mains. XD
Killer is by far the easier role to play. You don't have to worry about dieing. You don't have to work on generators, find hex totems or make it to an exit gate and hope you escape. Survivor role is pretty stressful most of the time and I wish it wasn't like that.

I sympathize with you. People in this game say some horrendous #########. It's the reason why I always block everybody in the lobby before every match so that I don't have to deal with it. But reporting the messages is the only thing we can do about it unfortunately.
Yep and I do hope the reports I make against people in this game do something to make the community a better and less toxic place for everyone. Its disheartening in that every time I play DBD with my friends or meet others who play it too the most common complaint I hear about the game is how toxic the community is. That is why I really think this game needs some filtering options for both survivors and killers to lessen our chances of being matched with them. Maybe a rep system of some kind?
-
Yea its not for the better. I have had people say extremely heinous things to me in this game. Things that go beyond harassment and I do NOT want to play with or against these people. This block option is not enough. It should block them from being able to be matched with you. I would gladly wait longer for a match that isn't against someone is toxic. At the very least there should be an "avoid as team member/killer option" for a few days at least.

What are you talking about? It's an offering for Survivors.
This isn't unfair for the survivor. He's not going to literally start next to the killer in his view. He's going to start on the killers side of the map, nearest the killer opposite the other survivors. This is actually good for the survivor, because the killer tends to move towards the other survivors and doesn't search the other side.
With Corrupt Intervention in play this also spawns the survivor near an open gen.
These are advantages for the survivor.
You have completely misinterpreted the suggestion.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1903443#Comment_1903443
You also misunderstood.
Nope. Once killers know about this they'll just search around them first. Trolls would abuse it thinking they can run the killer forever and it'll just be another annoying thing to deal with in matches.
-
An offering to make the match completely unfun and unfair for 1 survivor that they have no way to prevent? No thanks. Why do you want this? Are you having trouble finding survivors with your BBQ & chili, whispers, discordance, Hex Undying and everything else killers have that literally tells them where survivors are? Sorry not trying to be mean but this is literally a no fun allowed idea for survivors.

Oh guest I was crazy when I had three games where I lost 2 kills each cause keys don't need to be nerfed, yeah in high ranks you'll get keys commonly.
You're not crazy. You just played in a way that let the survivors get enough objectives done to be able to use the key. They are conditional. Don't forget that. They also have to find the hatch if they don't have a map or left behind perk. I really don't see keys that often let alone get used if they do play one. Usually they are found in a chest and the other survivors don't even know unless they're shown it by the survivor. I don't play keys that often anymore because I know its a high risk of being tunneled or hard focused the entire match which is not fun. If I do play a key I like to set it up where I have the best possible chance to use it but even then its very risky and again, very conditional.
-
The Pig is another killer I hardly ever have fun playing against. Mostly because most of the match feels like survivors having to deal with getting traps off their head rather than being able to focus on objectives. The fact that she can still give you pressure even after you're trapped is too much in my opinion though if I remember doesn't the timer stop if you're within her terror radius? Honestly I think once she traps you she should not be able to interact with you while the trap is on your head (after being hooked and unhooked of course. Forgot to mention that). The RNG factor means you can literally have to run through every box before finding the key and you're cutting it close in many situations even if you hit every skill check. The traps should only be for delaying survivors working on generators diverting their focus from main objectives. The fact that the killer can still attack you after being trapped is too much in my opinion. You may also have to deal with hex totems which will give the killer even more time to pressure you and keep you from objectives. I think I have seen more no gens completed 4k matches against the pig than any other killer. She's just not that fun to play against. It feels like more of an annoyance than a fun experience. She does eventually run out of traps though right? I guess it all depends how the player plays the killer. If someone can run her for awhile you can get the trap off no problem but how often does that happen really? I have been in matches with the pig where they actually left trapped survivors alone and would focus on other survivors which was very nice of them. A few days ago I had a match where I got trapped early and as I was running to the next box the killer was chasing another survivor and ran right around me out in the open where she could've easily just knocked me down again. I even stopped to accept the inevitable because I had nowhere to go and figured she was about to turn and knock me down but she didn't. Don't bank on every pig being this nice though. I've had terrible matches against the pig before.
-
I completely agree with the OP and have been saying this since my first match against the cannibal. He is extremely overpowered and I never have fun playing against them. There is no build up of power or conditions to be met with the chainsaw. They literally press a button and if you're in that hit area you're going down. That is WAY too much power for a killer. Look at devour hope for example. Conditions have to be met for that totems instant down power to be able to be used. The cannibal basically starts every match with a 3 token devour hope attached to his chainsaw. Not fun. Not fair. This killer needs a major change along with his perks too which I also feel are ridiculously overpowered and unfun to play against.

Keys are unfair, you click and escape how is that not unfair? In most stand offs spam clicking makes survs win. You even have a perk that tells you where it is. Not to mention map markers and maps and voicechat. Survivors need a hard kick in the ass to balance this game
No. Survivors need a strong BUFF in this game to attract more people to it and to play survivor. Killers already have more than enough to motivate people to play them. Survivors have the risk of being face camped and tunneled which doesn't make for a very fun experience and certainly won't make people want to play survivor. If anything survivors need more fun stuff in their arsenal to use against the killer.
That perk you mentioned about being able to see the hatch literally only works when you're the last person alive and serves no other purpose. The survivor takes the risk of using up a perk slot in the hope it'll be of use to them in the right situation. More than 1 survivor alive in the end game? Well good luck with your now only 3 perks that may or may not even be helpful then. KEYS ARE CONDITIONAL! Yes it makes sense that they can press a button and instantly escape through the hatch. Why? Because the conditions were met and the killer let someone with a key get to the point where they can even use them. Keys are not a problem in this game. They are SO risky to even play because if a killer sees a key in your hand good luck not being hard focused and tunneled off hooks because oh no can't let the key holder play the game and have fun too. If a survivor escapes using a key they deserve it. If they didn't do much that match they depip and you'll probably eventually not get matched with them again.
-
@WishIcouldmain said:

No keys are unfair they're a free escape that'll allow a escape that shouldn't have happened. There's been many instances nowhere multiple survivors can escape through the hatch especially with the offering to decide where it goes.
And you literally can see that offering before the match even starts or in the match by looking at the match details. Again, thats on you and not the key holder. They are NOT a free escape. REMINDER that keys are conditional. A key escape IS an escape that should happen because the conditions were met to allow the survivor to use it. Do you honestly think the door play should be the only option for a survivor to escape? I hope not. The doors so often spawn so close to each other that you will never get them open in time especially against a killer with extra mobility. It should be a challenge for killers to 4k and part of that challenge should be killers dealing with the possibility of survivors having more than 1 way to escape. You already go into the match with so much more power than the survivors. There is no reason whatsoever to nerf keys.
-
Another reminder that keys are conditional. I can count on 1 hand the amount of times I actually see a key get to be used after a week's worth of playing. Keys are not a problem! Killers letting enough gens get done so the survivor can use them is the problem. Ever heard of ruin and kicking generators? I hear they make keys take longer to be able to get used along with gen pressure. It just amazes me that people who play killer go into a match with so much power over the survivors and yet find it in them to come on the forums and feel the need to complain about keys being a problem. Maybe the problem is you and not the key?
-
@WishIcouldmain said:
Moris did have to change. Though it is unfair that keys and nothing else survivor based came to the changes.
Keys are not a problem and they are not unfair. They are literally a backup plan for when you're out of options or you get enough generators done (remember keys are conditional) and hope you find the hatch with whoever else is still alive before you're found. If you're solo playing good luck getting your team to even see you have a key let alone make it to the hatch with you.
-
No. If they revert moris back to requiring just 1 hook again I will quit this game. That WILL be the final straw for me. There is so much more that needs to be done to balance the power difference between killers and survivors. The mori change was a small step in the right direction. It was insanely unfair and extremely unfun to play against. It was so bad I can't tell you how many times I just closed the game and didn't think about playing it again for awhile. Moris should NOT be easy to do and they SHOULD be a rare thing that happens.
-
@Unifall said:
It should not. You should be rewarded for trying your best and being a team player. Like healing team mates, unhooking, trying to repair gens. If you do nothing all game and just hide the entire time while your team mates get slaughtered then you shouldn't be rewarded for escaping.
Yes it should. I just had another match where I ESCAPED but I had to run the killer for 3 generators and was hooked twice AND tunneled off both hooks so I had every bit of about 15 seconds of generator time if that. But I escaped so all good right? Nope! I was punished for escaping. I literally depipped for achieving the main goal of a survivor: escaping. This is beyond ridiculous. This is beyond frustrating. This is beyond annoying and beyond unfun. I am tired of escaping and depipping under circumstances where I LITERALLY had no other option to get enough done to just safety pip.

Its an annoying and unfun mechanic. I haven't liked it at all since I started playing the game. It honestly should be passive and a prompt should come up saying "press spacebar to give up" instead of having to press it or whatever keybind you have to it over and over.

like ffs, i swear to god every other game im in has AT LEAST one guy kill himself on the hook, first hook, despite the fact that people are coming. This game NEEDS something to punish this behavior apart from a report system that dosent work.
It already has one. Its called getting very few blood points and depipping. This suggestion is literally implying forcing players to stay in a game they don't want to be in. We already can't just leave the match anymore without being locked out of match making for a duration. You want us also to be forced to stay in a match regardless of the circumstance just so you can have a longer match? Give me a break.
-
I think this is a great way to make a lot of survivors quit the game. As if we needed anything to make it harder for survivors to escape. No. Keys are conditional. They are VERY conditional. You HAVE to do generators to even have the chance to use them. Even when survivors die, you still have to have a certain number done until you're the last survivor in which case you better hope you have a key otherwise good luck getting a door open when the killers can go back and forth between them in a matter of seconds most of the time. Keys are not a problem. They are only seen as a problem by killers that play poorly enough to allow survivors to use them.

This games MM does not exist. I know all about being thrown to the wolves in this game. Pretty much everyone does. Unfortunately you just have to push through it because it's the only way you will improve. It's never going to get fixed because there isn't enough people playing one side or the other. No matter what they do to the MM it can't work if there is hardly any players.
The reason the survivors don't safety automatically on escape is because there are people who literally do nothing except hide all match and find the hatch when everyone dies. If you escape by the hatch they can't find a way to determine if you were hiding all game or your team was getting clobbered and there was no other option. That's why the emblem system is in place, even if it is a piece of crap sometimes. It's also why there is no punishment for face camping. Without recording the match and watching how it went down. They can't write an AI that can tell if the killer was doing it to be toxic or if the survivors were constantly looping the killer right next to the hook.
I would think more players don't just hide all game to hatch it (gaining a small amount of points and depipping) as opposed to those who actually try to escape. If you get nowhere, how long is someone really going to do that? Even with the safety pip, how long would someone literally just play to hide, do nothing and hope they find the hatch before the killer does in the end? I really don't see this as a problem. My guess is more survivors suffer a loss from escaping than those who do nothing on purpose and escape. Escaping is a survivors main goal in every match. A safety pip at the very least should be given for that. What would make that any different than the whole camping can't be fixed thing?
-
There is nothing wrong with keys. If they change keys to do anything less than what they currently do that will be the final straw with me. Keys are a backup plan. They are extremely conditional and if a killer lets those conditions be met then the survivor deserves to be able to use it. Half the time I play a key I end up dieing or losing it to franklins and other times I barely make it to the hatch to be able to use it anyway. Keys are not a problem!

Honestly this is one part of the game I DESPISE. Just for the killer mains. I've had a lot of games where I have done gens, unhooked one person and been chased yet when I leave I do not even get a SAFETY PIP. I don't care if I get a pip or not, but just a safety pip for escaping for ######### sake.
I have learnt playing this game that in order to get a pip you must; heal someone, do at least one gen, get chased and unhook someone at least once. If you do not unhook or heal someone (both are needed) then you're ######### depipping or safety pip if lucky. Due to this, newbie killers make it difficult for survivors to even pip. Believe it or not.
Isn't escaping the main purpose of the game? why am I punished for it?
I couldn't have said it better. This is the point I am trying to make. Clearly some of the people replying here don't get this. Its not as easy as some people think to safety in this game especially against killers that are trying very hard to end the match as fast as possible. The bigger problem with all this is all kinds of players are playing in 1 game mode that has a ranking system. The players that are just trying to have fun playing a scary game are also having to play with players who treat this game like a job or competitive sport. This game needs a non ranked mode or some kind of new fun mode without the ranking system influencing their play style.

It sounds like the killer was playing very well or you and your team were playing badly. If you escaped via hatch and didn't even safety then you didn't do much that match.
Did you unhook or heal someone?
Did you repair any gens?
Did you cleanse a totem?
Were you in a chase for a decent amount of time?
Did you search a chest?
Did you pallet stun the killer?
There's a lot of ways to pip as a survivor. If you didn't even get a safety than you played very poorly or the killer was kicking ass. If it's the latter than why should you be rewarded?
The killer was way out of our league. We had no chance. I already explained what happened and how I literally could not do enough to even safety. Yes, regardless of your personal opinion or perception of how every match should go at the very least, matches like this actually do happen. And yes, I should at the very least safety pip if I achieved the main goal of what a survivor is supposed to do in this game: survive. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that survivors should depip for escaping. I'm also guessing you didn't read my reply earlier where I said I had 2 disconnects and the third gave up first hook and I hatch escaped and still depipped. I had no control over any of that but yet because I was there and that happened I depipped for escaping a match my entire team gave up on. This is not fair and it is not fun.
-
Oh here's another example of why I think this change should happen. Just had a match where 2 people on my team disconnected after being downed by the killer once and early in the match. The 3rd survivor got hooked and then attempted to 2nd stage and gave up. Only 1 gen was done (by me) and I just barely made it to the hatch in time before the killer did. What was my reward for literally having no control over the situation and actually escaping? I DEPIPPED! And literally right after I just lost a pip and then got it back in 2 matches before that. This is just ridiculous. I'm sick of losing rank literally over crap I have no control over and I am literally about as far on the edge as I can be to quitting this game.
-
@BreadLord said:
no, pipping cuz you crouched in a corner the whole match while the other 3 did all the work does not make sense
Which is not what I did nor what happened in my match. Did you read my post or were you just giving an example? Also if someone does manage to hide and escape in the end being the last person left, yes they too should safety pip. Why? Because how long are they honestly going to do that without ever pipping? I don't see it being a problem.

Big words from someone who thinks keys (used to end a match early) are okay but BBQ (used to help killers interact with all 4 survivors and play the game while earning much needed Bloodpoints) is overpowered.
I used to mostly play survivor. Now I can't really play anything other than killer because queues are too long. That burns out quick. It's not fun to be stuck playing one role constantly. So, right now, I'm playing a different game entirely.
Maybe you haven't read the forums enough, but a lot of the people here play both roles or mostly survivor because survivor is the more laid back role, and a lot of us don't feel like sweating it out trying to juggle four survivors constantly. Even memeing as killer gets stale after a while.
I'm sorry but you lost me at "survivor is the more laid back role." You've got to be kidding me. Every time I play this game after about 5 matches of survivor I feel like I've harnessed enough stress to break my soul. It is absolutely NOT a laid back role by any means. Killers on the other hand can literally afk a match and end it with over 10k points if a survivor runs in front of them. Try going afk in a match as survivor and see how many points you end up with.

and by enjoy the game you mean little to no effort required and easy escape, because that's what survivor is right now. People just want to have balance, is that so much to ask?
It is absolutely NOT easy to escape especially in higher ranks and a LOT of effort is required to do so in most situations at least in my experience. It is not fun to be downed quick in a match. It is not fun to be found the killer in the first few seconds of the match. It is not fun to be tunneled. It is not fun to be camped. It is not fun to be slugged. It is not fun to have a match end quickly for any reason.

So, you're saying you did nothing the whole game, found the RNG hatch, and want to be rewarded for it?
Escaping is the main goal for survivors. Yes, we should be rewarded for it. And you clearly did not read my post where I literally explained the situation of the match. No, I did not just do nothing the whole match. I was constantly running from the killer and worked on a gen in the very short amount of time I had. I was hooked twice and was very lucky to not die. After all that and the odds I still depipped for it. Not fair.

This is the entitlement they cater towards. "I'm entitled to have my second chance and the killer shouldn't be allowed any way to counter it", they'll nerf Pyramid head's cages for this reason too.
I'm sick of people calling survivors entitled when they bring up things they don't like about this game. This is not entitlement. These are legitimate complaints. Killers are so worried that survivors are going to get another thing to help them that they just scream "entitled survivors" without looking at it from a survivor perspective. Its this idea that every freaking survivor has to play on a sweaty rank 1 level prestige level or you're just bad at the game and want an easy way out. People are just trying to have fun in this game. Not everyone plays on a competitive level and just want to enjoy the game.

Or you know theres this thing of punishing the people doing it rather than punishing all who had nothing to do with this behavior. If this idea of remove/replace anything that could possibly offend someone keeps going we're going to live in a world where everything is eventually cancelled and life has been confined to nothingness. This has to stop. In the nearly 1000 hours I've put into this game I have never seen this happen in any match I've been in. I don't believe your 1/5 bubba matches claim at all and even if this is happening how hard is it to report them and move on? You're not going to end racism by removing a cosmetic from a video game. You're not going to take some powerful stand against inequality by taking something from a fictional character who wouldn't give a crap what color you are before deciding to kill you. Its a freaking video game and I'm sick of seeing the things that have happened in the gaming world because of the crap that is going on in real life. I don't just disagree with this but I give an outright HELL NO to your suggestion OP and hope you will realize that things like this are not something that calls for a universal approach to deal with. You're never going to cleanse the world of everything that offends you and we should not be canceling or censoring everything to try to create a utopia of equality for everything. We just simply need to treat each other with respect and be nice to each other. Is that really so hard to do?

I can not think of any other perk as balanced as Franklins Demise. It is the only perk in the entire game able to counter toxic items like med-kits, flashlights, and keys. You take that away and then I am mad :(
Med kits, flashlights and keys are not toxic items. I would not even play this game if those items were any less useful than they currently are and there isn't much in the game right now really keeping me there. Pressure from killers is how to counter items not a perk that can delete it from the game.

Survivor brings item, killer uses Franklin's, survivor may or may not get that item back. Survivor may be able to find a new item in a chest.
Killer brings hex, survivor cleanses hex, killer has lost an entire perk for the rest of the match.
Both sides have gambles, only it's much rarer for a killer to bring Franklin's than it is for survivors to cleanse a hex.
Killers have power and perks. Survivors have items and perks. My item gets depleted fast or can be lost from franklins or death. I can't stop the killer's power.

OP you sound like one of the most stereotypical survivor main that ever existed.
Your egotistical point of view heavily blinds your perception of the game.
As a fellow player who has been here since release, playing both sides equally (solo surv or killer; preferring survivor now due to being easier/more relaxing), I can easily tell you that Franklin's isn't a problem and never really was.
At best it allows killers to cope with survivor's bullcrapping (in 90% done by SWF teams). Can be used with certain killers for a better downing potential (Hag and Trapper) or just to complete some challenges if needed.
Otherwise it is a waste. Mostly used when keys are in play, as other items aren't as powerful as they once were.
If you want a key in game for whatever stupid reason (you toxic courtesan), just bring plunderes instinct and appraisal. Congratulations, you will loot pink maps and pink/purple keys EVERY game... .
So there goes your silly argument about these items being "rare" or "hard to come by".
I would recommend playing both sides so you actually start understanding the game's balance and state and will save you from sounding like a completely biased newbie.
I should not have to play plunderer's and appraisal every match. I'm sorry if you don't agree with me but my opinion is that this game is extremely hard for survivors and extremely easy for killers. I have also played both sides. Its so easy to find, down and hook survivors that I literally don't care to play killer anymore. In fact I felt bad for them at how easy it was after literally just a few games of me playing killer. On the other hand I have most of my nearly 1000 hours played in this game devoted to playing survivor and I still die most of my games. How is that fair? How is that balanced? I don't consider myself great at the same but I also don't consider myself bad at it either. I think I play well enough to at least be able to have a fair chance at winning but I hardly ever feel like I have a fair chance at getting anything done.

Killers are supposed to be stronger than survivors, that's why there are 4 survivors against 1 killer. Imagine if there was a perk that disabled killer's ability (not one like Calm Spirit that prevents screaming but one that disables any ability for a duration). Now imagine how all 4 decides to equip it, prevent Nurse from blinking and make her run 3,85m/s. It would be a disaster and an easy win.
That's the same problem with strong items. 1 medkit in the lobby doesn't do much, 4 good medkits is a different story.
"Killers have far less stress to deal with than survivors."
This is subjective, but I strongly disagree. Gens go fast, and if I decide to play a chill killer game without stressing about wasting time and chasing too long, that's 0 kills. Whereas I can play a chill survivor match and still do pretty well.
"I can play a chill survivor match and still do pretty well."
Are we playing the same game? This literally does not happen for me in purple+ ranks. Like literally never. Maybe in some green-20 matches but never for me in anything else. Also an addon that would disable franklin's would not be unfair. Franklins is always played at a risk (is that a brown or purple toolbox). It should NOT have continuous unstoppable power the entire match and no I should not have to hide my item somewhere to prevent it from being deleted by franklins. I have had my item knocked out of my hand over 5 times in a single match. THAT is too much power. Just like how I feel about Hex DH. It has too much power. They should not be able to instant down and kill you too. Franklins at most should only disable you from being able to use the item for a duration of time. It should not remove it from your hand. It should not cause the item to self delete after a short duration. It is not fun to play against and it is very unfair to survivors. All we get is points to buy items to use in our matches. A killer perk that literally is able to delete them is completely ridiculous, unfun and unfair.

I've actually died on hook because of my wrist or forearm locking up trying to press spacebar enough to not die. When I first started playing I died so many times with this and it still annoys me. I don't like it at all. I know I can keybind it to something else but thats not the point. The point is having to press a key over and over and if you mess up for half a second you're dead. Its beyond annoying and something I really wish they would just remove from the game. If you reach second hook your character should automatically struggle without you having to do it. The consequence of the struggle phase should only be dieing if someone doesn't save you in time. Its honestly probably one of the most annoying parts about the game for me.

Another point of view:
Is it playable for the killer if there are a lot of items? Yes. Is it fun to get genrushed because of good toolboxes and BNP? No. Is it fun to see a survivor heal in your face with a decent medkit during chase or with a syringe, ruining all your efforts to down that person? No. Is it fun to go against Sabo squads with Breakout and insta Sabo toolboxes? No. Is it fun to get harassed by a survivor with a flashlight all the time (aka the clickyclicking toxic jerk)? No. Is it fun to get all your traps or totems destroyed because there is someone with a map? No. Is it fun to have a decent game with 3 people on death hook, one person dead at 1 Gen left and then seeing them tbagging at the hatch and disappearing in front of your eyes? No.
That's why there is a perk like Franklin's. Items are very strong indeed, especially if paired with perks or in a swf. Franklin's is not unfair or unfun. It's the only way for the killer to rob you your extra buffs.
And please don't tell me that the Survivors can't do anything against a killer. There are a LOT of perks which are so strong I would like to see nerfed because they can tip the tide quite easily.
And you CAN do something about Franklin's.
1. You can hop in a locker, so he can't smack the item out of your hand.
2. You can use the item early and then hide it to pick up later.
3. You can hide the item for later.
Oh and if you are just doing a challenge, I would not use the best item for it. Just take a yellow FL and slap 2 batteries on. That works well enough.
Sigh... Firstly your list of what I can do against franklins is not going to help me much against it. You say use a locker so they can't knock my item out of my hand. Ok... if I'm being chased and jump into a locker before a hit, they're still most likely going to hit me when I come out. So thats not an option. I can't always use the item early because it depends on what item it is. If I hide it I have to hope no one else picks it up and I remember where it is. Not everyone runs plunderer's every game.
You mentioned the killers perspective on this. Killers have far less stress to deal with than survivors. They don't have to worry about getting injured, hooked or killed. They don't have to worry about objectives to access anything unless you're running a token build. Killers come into the match with more power than the survivors. The items are supposed to help us counter that power. Its a lot easier for a killer to have fun in this game than it is for a survivor in my opinion so those "what if" scenarios from a killer perspective don't hold as much weight as you think they do. Keep in mind all those items we get to use in the match have charge meters and they deplete pretty quick even with addons. We can't flashlight the killer forever or use brand new parts on every generator. The killers power however is with them the entire match. Survivors don't have unique individual powers. We have perks yea but so do the killers on top of their power. We have items and the last thing we need is a killer perk that can literally delete those items from you.
-
Its unfair I agree but also know that survivors suffer in a similar way when we have team mates d/c and the killer still goes crazy on us. I'm lucky enough to just safety pip with a playing team these days let alone pip. If someone leaves its super hard to get enough done just to safety in my experience.

@Aquamarine said:
I agree, and also the same option for killers to avoid toxic survivors.
Absolutely. Lets be fair for all. Let killers avoid survivors they don't want to play against too. I'm just really feeling pushed away from this game lately and I feel like soon I may just not want to play anymore. The mori change was appreciated but I feel like much more needs to be done to make the game amore enjoyable experience.

they brought an item to counter a chase item seems fair, you not being able to do your challenge does not factor into the balance of this game.
if you seriously think a bunch of items don't seriously impact games you need to see the bigger picture, just 2 medkits saves a bunch of time for the survivors.
Lastly as for keys lets agree to disagree because that conditional argument is laughable, it is really easy to find hatch and getting it to spawn in a losing game is also easy since there really is no excuse for not getting at least 2 gens done in any game and you only need 3-4 gens done to survive if you are not the one dead. Is it conditional? yes but are those conditions hard to meet? no you just survive long enough and find hatch having a key doesn't go into those conditions because we are assuming you have one in the first place. for a good group the conditions are literally just survive and find hatch.
Spoken from a true killer perspective. The keys are conditional. They are not easy to meet. It is not easy to get gens done in many situations. "For a good group" is way more laughable than your claim to the conditions of the keys. Yea I'd love a good group every time I play solo. I can't recall the last time I had one. You're basing your argument on so many assumptions. Survivors NEED help in this game. We NEED more to work with. I truly believe most survivors are not trying to be great at this game. They're just trying to have fun in a scary survival game.

What item exactly can't you live witthout?
The game is perfectly playable without items.
Playable... but is it enjoyable? If you prefer to play without items then go for it. I don't. Items are fun to play. This isn't about whether the game is playable with or without items. This is about a killer perk that literally deletes your item if you get hit and don't recover it in a short amount of time. Its unfair and unfun. Why can't survivors have an item or perk that disables the killer's special ability for a duration? Too much? I don't think so. You can delete my items, block my gens, camp my hooks, tunnel me, etc. etc. etc. but how much power do we really have over the killers? Survivors should be able to interact with the killer a whole lot more than we can now. But that is besides the point here. Franklins sucks and ruins the fun for me.
