  • The way I see it is, killers can also bodyblock in order to gain an advantage in very specific situations, so I think the same option should be allowed for the survivor.

    Many times I have been body blocked by a stealth killer because I was cleansing a totem or couldn’t vault a window because they blocked me from being able to vault.

    So again... I think it’s fair game.

  • Stock scream or not, I’m glad my queen Meg Thomas is getting the attention she deserves.

  • Sorry you’re having difficulty with this perk.

    As someone who despises when killers go back to the hook, I totally understand your frustration. Add to that that it is an invisible character that for all you know just stood outside of the required meter range just keeping tabs on who’s going for the save.

    One way I counter this perk (and especially once I know they have it) is to pre-plan for where I am going to be looping. Best option is a safe area with a pallet. The game then becomes out-run the MYC effect while other survivors gen rush.

    This is a typical way to counter anyone who keeps going back to the hook because they aren’t patrolling gens.

    I know there is not much you can do especially if the hook is in the middle of nowhere. At which point if gens have been done at a pretty good pace, I will go over by the hook wait for someone to save and stand at the hook to confuse the Wraith. This one only works if there is some type of LoS but it’s worked for me in the past.

    Hope this gives you at least an idea of how to prepare. 😄

  • Map Pressure issues plague her.

  • You can end a chase by extending a loop, going to where gens have already been done., bringing in stealth-like perks (QnQ, Lightweight, Iron Will etc) and generally playing smart within the area you are given.

    Killers will leave you if they have wasted too much time on you if they are smart.

  • @Lord_Tony

    Not all killers. Certainly not the ones who know what they are doing.

    Comms doesn’t stop a killer knowing how to outsmart and mind game a survivor.

    So how did you share your view to your friends without comms?

    @ChiTenshi

    Huh? By spectating their gameplay.

    Yeah, I would imagine if you are not sure how to play the game SWF is hell to play against.

    It’s supposed to represent different mind-sets people could have in-game. There are some players who bring Prove Thy Self and only work on gens that others are currently doing.

    It’s not assuming that all players won’t do a gen unless someone else is working on it. It’s giving an example of a mindset that can cause matches to flop.

    @ChiTenshi

    So the "I will hide until I know who the killer is" isn't assuming that they won't touch a gen?

    Because in reality THAT is the problem. Comms doesn't solve the mindset of choosing to not be productive during the match. You can have that mind-set even with comms, because some people just absolutely suck at this game. I have caught some of my own friends sometimes being too immersed, and I have shared my views with them and now they know better. It wasn't comms that solved that issue though.

    TBH, the most basic of information can be strong.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2Z18RMWL2V7C/image.jpeg

    Not saying that will turn them into gods during a chase, but we can’t deny SWF will always have an advantage unless they’re all new players.

    @ChiTenshi

    No one is denying that SWF has a bit of an advantage over solo on comms. However, that picture you’ve shown is incorrect and n many levels.

    It assumes you have to “look” for peeps to work on a gen. Guess what? You are likely going to spawn next to someone, in fact I had that happen to me yesterday. A new with Prove Thyself kept following me to whatever gen I was working on. She didn’t need me to tell her where I was.

    If you know how to properly use her vomit she is insane,having everyone infected and forcing them to cleanse.

    @Aexel

    Still didn’t answer the question, where did you get those stats?

    I use her properly, but she lacks map pressure therefore even if someone cleanses from across the other side of the map it is meaningless if I am chasing a survivor who is on the complete opposite side of that fountain.

  • @TAG said:

    I like the idea of making her green bile make already-regressing gens regress faster (though it would not stack with Ruin). A Survivor can clean the goop off a gen by working on it, but doing so will increase their sickness.

    I also think an incentive to cleanse would be nice. This is maybe overkill, but the Pig main in me thinks "What if a Survivor DIES if they remain fully sick for too long?" That way, they HAVE to eventually cleanse. I'd definitely be okay with some trade-offs like making it so you can just cleanse on the go (it takes maybe a second or so to drink some pool water, and five or so seconds after you drink the water, you are fully healed similar to Anti-Haemorrhagic Syringe) or even nerfing the Corrupt Purge if need be. It wouldn't be like the Jigsaw Boxes where you have to find the correct pool or some nonsense; just cleanse at a pool and you're good to go.

    @TAG

    Actually Pig came to mind when I was thinking of ideas. I think a huge part of why cleansing just isn't as devastating as some people make it out to be is because it also heals them. This is a BIG advantage to them, considering you usually need a medkit to heal or a teammate, and also how out-positioned you have to be in order for Corrupt Purge to actually feel lethal.

    I don't know if staying broken for too long should kill a survivor, but I definitely think that it should add another status as @Blueberry pointed out.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/248461/what-kind-of-buff-would-you-give-plague

    Plague needs no buff,she just has a high skill level cap,just practice more with her.

    @Aexel

    Do you mind me asking where you are getting those stats?

    I've always thought she was mid-low tier, definitely not over mid-level. IMO

  • @TicTac said:

    They need to fix the hit registration. But im not sure whether i like the corrupt purge activation over a distance. Right now cleansing far away is a good counter, so without that i think less people would cleanse.

    My problem with plague is that i dont know how lethal her corrupt purge against good survivor is, bc there are not many survivor which are experienced against plague. Additionally her lethality depends on the structures a lot. Strong short wall loops are useless against her and make some maps really strong for her. So bc of that i dont know how much you should buff her corrupt purge without making it broken.

    @TicTac

    I am not being specific about the distance btw, I think even a 10 meter range would be ok without making survivors feel they can no longer counter it. Sometimes the problem with how far apart these pools spawn is atrocious. Especially once you realize which ones to cleanse from.

    A good survivor will dodge her puke via LoS. Since I have played her for a long time, I can pretty tell where it will hit me and where it won't. Someone not experienced enough might not realize that though. That goes for any killer's power though.

    I don't think adding (for example) damage to gens would make it broken tbh. Just anything that would help her. I think thematically it would make sense since her VP already contaminates them, but it's just an idea of course.

  • @Trickstaaaaa said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2172974#Comment_2172974

    Trapper is way weaker than her. She can shoot her power from a distance, she can get survivors to a one hit status with her vomit. Trapper is the second weakest character in this game, not a good comparison because he has no power while she does even without her vile vomit.

    @Trickstaaaaa

    I wasn't comparing their stats, I was comparing their powers in that they are so spread out, when they already suffer from map pressure issues.

    If Trapper wants to set a trap, he needs to go to x/y/z location to pick up that trap, if Plague wants her CP, she needs to go to x/y/z location to collect her CP. that is what I am comparing.

  • @Blueberry said:

    1. Can remotely collect her Corrupt Purges.
    2. Fully infected/broken players have the Oblivious status effect.

    This would go along way. She needs help.

    @Blueberry

    Something we can both agree on. 😂

    I agree that broken status just seems kind of... there. So I would love to see another status added to broken, or like the more you stay broken you gain x/y/z status.

    I would love to see her be able to at least like I said be able to collect CP from a distance. An animation like old Freddy's when he put survivors to sleep, but for Plague she would just pull and consume her Corrupt Purge.

  • @Trickstaaaaa said:

    None she is in a decent position. She is not weak, but not overpowered.

    @Trickstaaaaa

    Fair enough, though I do agree she isn't weak, I don't think she is in a decent spot considering she suffers from the same problem Trapper does, which is that her power is basically spread out throughout the map which makes it considerably disadvantageous for her.

  • If the killer is good they will find you.

    Most of the time survivors spawn where gens are blocked for starters. So unless you are crouch walking the entire time hiding is ineffective. Not to mention you are also not allowing your team to progress on their own objective.

  • Detective’s Hunch will always trump this perk. Why? Because it actually shows you location. Which is much more important than knowing how many totems are on the map.

    You have people on this forum who've argued that using Dead Hard requires talent lmao

    pressing e is so damn hard for some of these blokes it seems

    @kyogul

    Pressing E is not hard. You still need to know how to use it though. You can run into a wall if you don’t time your dash correctly. I’ve seen it happen even to the most experienced players.

    pressing E is as hard as pressing M1 to hit a survivor. They both still require some skill around it.

  • Meg or Dweet.

    Meg is queen. 👑

    Dweet is a cutie pie. 😊

  • It’s the frosty eyes for me.

  • If only she was as strong as her wink is.

  • People on here talking about synergies.

    Most people who bring at least Ruin/Pop aren’t doing it for the synergy. They do it to have a back up. Buy enough time until Ruin dies and then use Pop as back up.

  • I don't think in the years that I have played this game, I have actually read anyone asking for them to get rid of Camping, Tunneling and Slugging. Like, legit erasing it from the game.

    In fact, funny you put it that way because whoever asked a question in relation to those 3 things (in one of the most recent dev streams) asked "Why Camping, Tunneling, and Slugging?" which is neither specific or explicitly asking to get rid of it, yet that is exactly how the devs took it.

    Look. I get that it is part of the game, but much and sometimes most of the time those actions get used could sometimes boreline be abused, because they aren't used as tactics.... they are forced as 'tactics'.

    You have people now that Wraith has been buffed (as an example) who only got excited for his buff because they can rush back to hook as soon as the opportunity arises to do so. Not because they felt that they needed to outpace the survivor's objective or because they somehow saw a survivor going back. They did it because they chose to and to attempt to take out that hooked survivor asap.

    I don't think punishing them through points is the answer because people will still do it regardless. I think giving survivors more options OUTSIDE of perks would be a great start. That camped survivor especially should feel like they are playing the game and not a sacrificial lamb.

    At the end of the day people just want to be able to play the game without waiting 20 minutes for a lobby only to go in there and do one of two things Hold M1 or Accept death on hook. That is not fun and that is not the concept of this game, because if it was I don't think people would have bought it in the first place. At this point the worst thing BHVR can do is nothing.

  • I would find it very surprising if they allowed another game to feature a newly introduced character in their own game.

    Like here..."go play DBD and you can play as our brand new character in our own game". Just seems... odd.

  • Sometimes it’s the better option, but you have to look at each situation individually.

    Like if 1 is on hook and the other went down, with a 3rd already dead...I’d personally open it. I’d use it so the killer thinks I’m going to leave them because I have no help then sneak in a try to get them out. This has worked many times for me as it made the killer question is I was just standing at the exit etc.

  • Only 2 posts on the forums and you are talking about something that has been the way it has for years?

    Nice bait.

  • You’re comparing a one shot down add on to a perk that may/may not work depending on your set up??? 🤨

  • Very well put together OP. This is one of the reasons that drew me to DBD initially, is seeing how much representation there is culturally. It gives the game a specific flavor that no other game has. Specifically when you talk about killers and start to wonder and ask “where do they come from??”. It’s just a cool element.

    Personally I’d love to see more Latin American cultures in this game. There are a lot of specific folklore and legends of character within the horror genre that would be cool to see.

    Trapper and trickster are not viable at all in red ranks, nice try

    @Lord_Tony

    I’d be interested to see how you play Trapper.

    I play him and constantly get 3-4ks. My build is Corrupt/Sloppy/STBFL/Whispers. I try to use the extra traps because that is where I feel trapper suffers the most.

    I know you speak from your own experience but to say he is not viable at red ranks, meanwhile I am getting kills from one of the weakest killers in the game. I don’t know if I can relate.

  • Most people that I know that play SWF play because of reliability of their teammates.

    The fact that you don’t have even know what rank teammates are in solo queue os recipe for disaster. The whole time you’ll be criticizing them for not saving correctly and/or running the killer to you while you’re the only one on a gen. Only to find out they are a rank 17.

  • @Rivyn

    Before yes, now if you get stunned with DS, you were tunneling.

  • Pretty much a made up term to blame something else other than your skill.

    To be fair they will never do a flamboyant queer character because that is the definition of stereotyping which is what they are trying to avoid for the character.

    I can totally see Ace as a dragqueen tho, the dang silverfox 🤪

    @Itooshie

    I don’t know, I’d like to think it’s just the way people are. I own my feminine side and my masculine side. I’m also quite capable of acknowledging that there is also gay people that are only feminine or masculine.

    I don’t think there is anything wrong with adding a specific personality trait.

    Whichever way they choose to bring a lgbtq character, we all know it isn’t going to encompass every single gay person out there, but the representation will still be acknowledged.

  • @RoboMojo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/247159/would-the-game-s-performance-improving-ease-some-of-the-game-s-unbalance

    Making there be less bugs and improving overall performance would help but ultimately, no. This game will never ever be truly balanced. One side will always hold more power depending on the situation. Especially when you consider the sheer amount of variables in a given match. Are the survivors solos or swf? If they’re swf then are they on comms? Is the killer playing a high tier killer? If not then they may struggle against a strong swf. All of this is exasperated when you consider the obscene amount of RNG. If survivors get an incredibly strong set up of tiles across the map then an M1 killer or a killer who has trouble catching up will really suffer. The strongest killers however (Nurse, Spirit, Blight etc) can shut these tiles down. Consequently, when the tile spawns favour even the weaker killers, then the strong killers will dominate with little effort, even against a decent swf. Unless the Dev’s address the RNG, the game will always be unbalanced. Hell even if they do address the RNG, it’ll still be unbalanced. It’d just be slightly closer to balance.

    @RoboMojo

    Yeah, I know ultimately even if the game ran perfect without bugs and other technical issues the parts that make it unbalanced are still going to be there.

    My thought came more or less from the frustration that I sometimes encounter on both sides in my experience. I feel less frustrated when I know I lost fair and square whereas I feel very frustrated when I know that, that one hit I didn’t get cost me the game.

    I do feel you on the RNG part, i don’t know how they would address that.

    I honestly quit playing the game after 8 hours gametime, because of the balancing issues, and the fact that hitboxes also don't even work right on killer. Also mm doesn't exist at all lol. Don't know about now, but I'd say Jane is top meta with the camera girl being 2nd. Unless they changed something. All I really saw often was those 2. I saw the others, but not as often, because their abilities or their strengths weren't as good as those 2.

    @GodLikeTerror

    MM doesn’t exist because the game is still in early access. So they are adding things as they go.

    As for who is stronger, it’s hard to say. You have to remember they also have statuses. Which means that while someone might be strong when it comes to their damage, their stamina might not be that great.

    I don’t think it’s unbalanced (aside from some perks) Helmet and Auto Guard come to mind. Seems a bit too OP from a killer perspective.

    With that being said, I do think it’s a bit too late for DBD to add built-in abilities. They can barely balance perks . Though I think it would have been cool to see unique built in passive stats. It would have made each survivor more unique.

  • By definition tunneling is ignoring everyone else and only chasing the one person. I don’t know what point you are trying to make.

    Tunneling is what it is called.

    Now if you have additional context to add, then yeah it might be called something else. Like survivors farming a person for absolutely no reason.

  • @GodLikeTerror said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/247133/do-you-think-each-survivor-should-have-their-own-passive-ability

    They did this in HSH and honestly that game is just a balancing disaster on it's own. Everyone would pick the most meta most of the time.

    @GodLikeTerror

    Ive been playing HSH who do you think is The ‘meta’ survivor, because I thought everyone was pretty balanced. Maybe Jane I could see.

    Ive been playing Tim and I love his ability, it isn’t OP but it isn’t weak.

    Legion are a group of edgy teens in masks and they fit just fine

    @Phasmamain

    I think they could have gone further with his aesthetic tbh.

    Plague for instance was a beautiful priestess for example, turned into what she is now.

    I’m not saying every killer needs to have a deformed look but IMO even without any deformity, he doesn’t even look menacing at all, and I still see a survivor whenever I see him.

    Thats not to say that K-Pop was the wrong idea but that the design didn’t go where it needed to.

    I think that’s what OP is trying to get to anyway, because you think of other A-list horror killers we could have had.

    Like I’m still waiting on Dracula. But who knows if they will go with more traditional killers.

    "Doing gens as an action is not enough of a downside. Of course survivors can still do the objective, but if they want their teammate to remain alive, they will also try to help where/if they can. That is fundamental to the game as it is a team-based game and working on gens isn't the only way you have to survive."

    Losing the entire game is not enough of a downside? That's literally as bad as it can get.

    "Inconsistency # 1: You cannot heal yourself but you can have others heal you and still keep DS. (doesn't make sense but ok)"

    You're right, it should deactivate if you get healed as well. They were trying to be generous. If either of those actions are happening you aren't being tunneled.

    "Inconsistency #2: You can touch a gen for a split of a second and lose your DS, because somehow that gets the killer off your back. When in reality there is a reason why the devs added a 60 second timer. Because they felt that was fair. Not a 1 second deactivation that does nothing to progress the game."

    And they changed it later because they felt that is was not fair. That scenario you are presenting is not an issue with the perk, it's an issue with you making a bad decision. You should be making sure you are safe before touching the gen. The perk is to prevent you from getting tunneled off the hook, not from going down again in 60 seconds.

    "Inconsistency #3: Doesn't work on both hook stages, even though people on here claiming "it only counts as tunneling if it is done right after an unhook".... *killer proceeds to tunnel at 1st and 2nd stage*."

    Do you realize how many times I run into the same survivor after they happened to be the last one unhooked? It's purpose is to prevent tunneling off the hook, that's it.

    "You keep saying "you're not suppose to be immune to tunneling" but we haven't even began to scratch the surface to make such assumption. Even with the previous DS, you weren't immune because the killer could still down you."

    And then he gets picked up by a teammate, Unbreakable, Soul Guard etc. Downing them for 60 seconds was not a legit counter. You are immune for 60 seconds. You are the minority here. The vast majority of the community understood how overpowered this perk was.

    "Your views on tunneling are far from what encompasses tunneling. It isn't black/white as I and many others have explained many times. If you can understand how there are certain circumstances where the killer is forced to tunnel, then you should have enough understand where there are also circumstances where they didn't have to, and chose to anyway. I mean, as a 50/50 killer player I can at least admit that one."

    And these circumstances that the killer would choose to tunnel you DS is protecting you in its current state. You want the circumstances for DS activation to be so ridiculously loose that it would be abused and carrying games in high skill matches as it was before. I play 50/50 as well and what you want is not balanced at all.

    "A far more realistic and fair balance would have been for the timer to start depleting AS survivors are doing objectives, not immediately."

    That makes no sense whatsoever. You are not being tunneled while you are working away on a gen, that is ridiculous. If you are that worried you are getting tunneled then you shouldn't be touching a gen, you should be getting healed and in a safe place away from objectives.

    @Blueberry

    You honestly just don't get my points. That's ok though, you seem to have an excuse for every single thing someone says against tunneling.

    I'll just agree to disagree with every one of those comments. I like to have healthy arguments when players aren't biased towards one side or the other. I never said I wanted circumstances to be ridiculously loose, I want them to be fair. Big difference.

  • @Pulsar

    I think Solo Queue as a Concept is great, as a heavily RNG-based concept it is miserable.

    You never know teammates from which side of the aisle you are going to get.

    "It is still an oppressive way to play with hardly any downside."

    That's simply not true. Your team should be pumping out gens in this time.

    "There are so many inconsistencies in this perk’s design that I wouldn’t call it anti tunnel for those reasons alone."

    Like what inconsistencies? It's quite consistent for an anti-tunnel.

    "Let alone for the fact that you can still tunnel someone out of the game and now in an easier form than ever."

    No, it isn't easier to tunnel than ever. All the circumstances that were removed were not tunneling circumstances. It's just as good for tunneling as it was before.

    "Even at two hook stage activations I wouldn’t call it anti-momentum. You are still tunneling after an unhook."

    As we've been over, it's anti-tunnel, not immune to tunnel. There are circumstances you are forced to tunnel as a killer and 2 activations would make this an immune to tunnel perk.

    @Blueberry

    Doing gens as an action is not enough of a downside. Of course survivors can still do the objective, but if they want their teammate to remain alive, they will also try to help where/if they can. That is fundamental to the game as it is a team-based game and working on gens isn't the only way you have to survive.

    As far as inconsistencies:

    Inconsistency # 1: You cannot heal yourself but you can have others heal you and still keep DS. (doesn't make sense but ok)

    Inconsistency #2: You can touch a gen for a split of a second and lose your DS, because somehow that gets the killer off your back. When in reality there is a reason why the devs added a 60 second timer. Because they felt that was fair. Not a 1 second deactivation that does nothing to progress the game.

    Inconsistency #3: Doesn't work on both hook stages, even though people on here claiming "it only counts as tunneling if it is done right after an unhook".... *killer proceeds to tunnel at 1st and 2nd stage*.

    You keep saying "you're not suppose to be immune to tunneling" but we haven't even began to scratch the surface to make such assumption. Even with the previous DS, you weren't immune because the killer could still down you.

    Your views on tunneling are far from acknowledging everything that actually encompasses tunneling. It isn't black/white as I and many others have explained many times. If you can understand how there are certain circumstances where the killer is forced to tunnel, then you should have enough understanding that there are also circumstances where they didn't have to, and chose to anyway. I mean, as a 50/50 killer player I can at least admit that one.

    A far more realistic and fair balance would have been for the timer to start depleting AS survivors are doing objectives, not immediately.

  • I don’t agree with this.

    Sometimes hook rushing is a strategy against killers whom you have already established that they like to camp. Especially those with an Insta down.

    Example: Survivor gets hooked, you can sneak behind the killer and as their back is turned you unhook with BT.

    With your proposed change that would no longer work and would instead give the killer more control over when unhooks happen.

  • DbD is skilled and RNG sided.
