  • The Spirit is one of the main reasons I got into the game, from her power to her amazing design to the amount of emotion she displays as opposed to every other killer who is either smiling, growling or wearing a mask. The other killers I like to play are the Pig, the Doctor, and maybe the Nurse since she was my first killer (I know, bad choice for your first killer) but I still suck at her and pray every day for higher sensitivity on consoles.

This game will NEED to follow a ranked system that changes gameplay as a person ranks up. So it begins to feel balanced. AN average ranking system will need to adjust the following.

    1. NUMBER of generators on map.
    2. Number of hooks on the map

I know there will be the discussion of the following:

    • If the players are throwing games to lower the difficulty of the match.
    • SWF vs PUG, vs De PIp Squads. - What match quality changes could there be?
    • People creating "Smurff" accounts to avoid a certain rank.

Ultimately the system may just be fine where it really only can be. Since people circumvent ranking systems all the time. It might just come down to not having a rank, and using a system that tips the scale of the match all together. So if it feels like it is moving too fast or too slow. It can compensate for that. Which would be a HEADACHE for programmers.

What about the No Mither + Sabotage + Boil Over + Tenacity/Break out/Breakdown meme build? The less hooks on the map, the more viable and annoying the build will get.

I think the biggest problem is wait time ratio to game time. It's not inherently bad that the games are relatively short, but the amount of wait time you have to go through makes it awful.

I think the things that should be fixed first are matchmaking, maps, moris, keys, and toolboxes. Those are the biggest culprits to bad experiences as of right now.

    Remove milky glass

    • Uses Vigo's Shroud
    • It's a Legion or Plague with discordance and now your entire team has deep wounds/the plague

We're trying something a little different. We are in the midst of planning a technical livestream that will explain how hitboxes work, how they are affected by latency, and what we are doing to reduce the feeling of hits that don't appear to be close enough. We'd also like to answer some of your questions; and that's where you come in.

If you have any technical questions, feel free to ask them below! Questions related to theme of the stream are preferred (hitboxes, latency, dedicated servers, etc.), but we may take some other technical questions (e.g. How does this thing work?) if they are interesting enough. Please note that this is not meant to be a balance discussion, and questions about game balance likely won't be answered in this stream.

    Rules

    • One question per person.
    • Please try to keep your questions short (we need to read them on stream!)

Higher sens on console, I'm begging you.

Instead of the perk being run by the rescuer, what if the perk was made to be run by the rescued survivor?

So you would run the perk to prevent yourself from getting farmed ever by bad teammates and not just have to hope they are running it.

Also has the benefit of now survivors would be more inclined to make better saves since they aren't sure if you have it.

Trying to think of a downside here but I'm just seeing positives.

    Thoughts?

    @Peanits @not_Queen

Maybe it could notify people if someone with Borrowed Time is within range, like what they did with We'll Make It.

I have been playing around with her for about a month. I'm the reason survivors think EZ game when they hear a nurse.

I'm really struggling with blinks at middle distances. Sometimes I'm not even close . I'm going to keep working on her though. But it's a grind..I wish there was a mode where I could practice blinking at specific distances. Something similar to a golf driving range.

Have you used the cloth addon that shows you where you'll blink to? for me it's a lifesaver.

I asked this question in the reddit threat the other day and I want to ask it here and see peoples responses.

Survivors: Who do you find you get tunneled/targeted as the most? personally for me it's Adam

Killers: Who do you tend to go for first and why?

Adam gets tunneled because all his perks suit a stealthy, altruistic playstyle yet his bright white jacket is basically a neon sign that shows up to the killer way more easily than any other character. The same thing also applies to Nancy, her sweater makes finding her way too easy.

  • The Spirit or The Wraith, neither of them wanted to be killers and they just had anger management issues unlike a lot of the other killers. For survivors probably Kate or Jane so that they can continue spreading happiness to other people.

Yes we did, so far the art team does not have any plan to rework other hairstyle.

Adding physics for default Feng Min and Nea Karlsson maybe? Those hairdos are really stiff, especially Feng's. Girl used way too much hairspray before entering the entity's realm.

If the killer closed the hatch, it's not supposed to be easy to win as a survivor.

I'm not exaggerating when I say pretty much impossible. Unless you have a key or the killer is dumb as rocks, you will not escape.

  • @McLightning said:

Whispers doesn't give an exact location...how is that so hard to counter, and are we really complaining about "whispers" of all perks now?

The endgame is pretty much impossible to win as survivor is the killer closed the hatch and has whispers.

  • I used to let survivors go if I caught them being stupid, like self caring in my terror radius behind a tree when I had Nurse's Calling, but now I think that if you punish them for it they learn from their mistakes and won't do it in the future.

"Survivor Hope" = second chance. Failed to do the gens? Well we'll give you another escape option. Now with EGC, failed to get to the second chance escape too? Well we'll enable two more chances for you.

If you hate it so much, put on whispers. Also what's the point of still playing if you can't win? It kills all the excitement to know you're going to die and you have no control over it. A lot of survivors would just DC

they should nerf them, but only when they nerf keys.

Just remove/rework the Milky Glass add on, you don't get to leave the match early AND keep the key.

  • Freddy isn't as op as he is stupid boring to play against.

  • I liked the contest, is there a place I can go where I can see a lot of these concepts? I can't find any.

  • Gen speeds aren't the problem, map sizes are

  • I love playing as:

    Spirit

    Pig

    Plague

    • I main killers because of their character designs and basically nothing else

    I don't like playing as:

    Nurse

    Huntress

    • I'm bad

    I like playing against:

    Oni

    Wraith

    Pig

    • pig has stealth that isn't annoying, wraith's power doesn't disable survivors but instead enables himself, Oni is scary and fun

    I don't like playing against:

    Freddy

    Legion

    Clown

    • stupid, brainless, boring gameplay that makes me truly understand why people dc
  • @Advorsus said:

Because unless you're just a god and perfect blink with her every time, she's very perk/add on heavy. She also does take a lot of skill to learn. Like I love nurse, love her power, her looks, her lore, everything about her. But I was dumb and didn't practice with her or level her while I was in low ranks. Now I'm in high ranks with no decent perks or addons for her. So every time I take her into my games, even if my blinks are good and I apply pressure well, I don't have the stuff to stall the game, so I get stomped by these red rank survivors who only play the same survivors with all tier 3 survive perks like DS, DH, sprint burst, borrowed time, iron will. It's not impossible to win those games, just unlikely. Usually the gens get rushed and I just don't have time to practice her blinks during a match.

But that's probably why you don't see many, just too much skill required and nowhere to practice her without getting stomped and deranking cause of it.

We should have a separate rank for playing the nurse

Killer: BBQ (aura reading) - it's a cheap perk that allows Killers to skip tracking for survivors and enter chase immediately

    Survivor: any second-chance perk

What if we kept the double bps?

  • If the survivor have a key. If they want to leave the match early, then I suppose I’ll just help them out.

  • Freddy, Legion, Clown. They’re all stupid boring to go up against

  • These sound good, it might make Freddy less awful and boring to play against.

  • There are no character specific challenges on the main path, unless you're referring to the last archive. Also licensed characters would never appear in the archives since they're licensed, so you won't have to run Freddy or Inner Strength.

  • Wraith and Demogorgon should be higher up, they have pretty good mobility and element of surprise.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

I'm not a fan of this idea as totems should be something they want to cleanse. It's like punishing a killer for kicking a gen since that could be considered a second objective for them.

It could mean removing power from some hexes since there is now more of a risk in doing them. I.e. devour hope. So the risk can't be too high.

There are already thrill and haunted grounds and it doesn't stop them cleansing. If anything thrill makes the killer patrol totems and haunted grounds well it screws over someone else rather than the person on the totem almost all of the time.

They want to do something with totems so these should be something survivors feel like they should do. Too much risk and they won't care and just rush gens and get straight out instead risking NOED since its a mechanic which is known.

It could also make an swf even stronger over solo since they could communicate when best to do them.

You're actually comparing kicking gens to cleansing totems? Kicking gens does practically nothing without pop, while doing just one totem gives the survivors 1500 points and sometimes gets rid of a hex. Most hex perks are immediately cleansed when a survivor finds them as a low mobility killer even with thrill of the hunt, because the moment you pick up a survivor, the rest of their team will swarm to the totem like flies to a carcass and you won't get back in time to stop them. You also seem to underestimate how powerful NOED is, especially against bad survivors. It can completely turn the tides of the game and give a killer a 4k even when the odds are stacked against them. You already have a good incentive to do totems, you get free points, and possibly get rid of a hex, NOED, or you could get Inner Strength. You just want to have no risk to doing totems instead of the minimal risk there is only when the killer has Haunted Grounds or Thrill of the Hunt.

  • Freddy is the worst to play against, same with legion
