  • Worst. Map. Ever. Im so disappointed.

  • As a survivor main:

Midwitch. Not only is it a bad design but its so boring to play. Looks good, that's it.

3(4) ways to get up is waaaaay too little and there are no looping tiles, just a bunch of unsafe pallets and dead end rooms.

    Horrible, just horrible.

The worst part is playing killer is no better. It takes ages to roam the map and patrol gens.

This is the last map they made, and the feedback should be enough or them to give up on the indoor maps. But NOPE, here comes another one I just can't stand to play. RE chapter or not, they should at least make it like the police station was the main building and having streets instead of having another indoor map with a roof terrace.

All other maps are fine for me, both killer and survivor.

  • I wanted to say “WP” to a blight the other day. It came out “##”. Lmao.

  • Blight might be the best option IMO. His ability is fun to use and he has the highest ceiling of the 3. He also works well with a lot of perk combos so he will never feel boring to play.

Oni is all right, he is an M1 killer until his power is activated. Powerful, yet faces challenging matches. He can turn a match around in a few moments. I tried Oni on controller and he felt a little laggy when I activated his ability. I don't know how it is now tho since I've been playing on PC the last 6 months.

Trapper will provide you with another form of understanding the game and reading/predict survivor behavior. Though he might be considered weak and boring in the long run for some people. He can feel frustrating when facing a good SWF-group that nullifies his traps in an instant. He is add-on dependant and corrupt intervention should be a mainstay in your builds.

  • It really boils down to being effective and watch yourself at the same time. My most effective solo build is:

Dead Hard, Kindred, Spine Chill, Borrowed Time.

I swap Kindred with different perks depending on my mood. DH, BT, SC is really all I need it seems.

Dead Hard, Self Care, Resilience, Bottany knowledge/Desperate measures I think is funny too sometimes.

  • Anyone given a slight thought that the survivor just want to complete the challenge “escape through the hatch 2 times”.

    Just a thought :)

The poor guy probably having a hard time finishing it though..

  • I would say Doctor, his ability guides you to where the survivors are and are good for slowing down gens. It also doesn't take much skill to learn.

Others might be Bubba, Freddy and Wraith - all easy to learn.

I moved it to the correct part of the forum

    Ahh ok.

It wasn't meant as serious feedback, but no worries :)

  • @Mandy said:

    I liked it tbh

Did you just edit my post? :P

  • Happy to hear some people like it. I just think it is so cheesy and anything but scary

  • Hang in there, the tunneling and camping tend to stop when you get a better rank. Just keep up the grind.

  • LMAO, people really need to stop this. It solves nothing. You handled it well. They are not mature enough to know better.

Although Stridor Spirit is the worst to face, it doesn't justify this.

Hope the next games are better :)

  • Killer: Twins (And I am happy about that)

    Survivor: Jeff

I play Solo survivor almost exclusively- or else I play with one friend but we don't communicate (so the only advantage is that I won't be left to die on my first hook by lousy team mates).

The past 2 weeks have been atrocious for both of us when it comes to camping and tunneling. I dropped 3 Ranks because of it (from Rank 3 to Rank 6). It's just about every single game now. And I'm not being generous or broad when I describe camping/tunneling. I mean a Killer staying mere paces from the hook and waiting for the rescue, then chasing down the freshly unhooked survivor immediately, even beyond Borrowed Time, even if they eat a DS.

A LOT of these Killers were Rank 1. Deathslinger? Hooks his first survivor and just walks away from the hook, waits and aims. Wraith? Well I have never seen a Wraith who doesn't just cloak a few paces from the hook. Ghostface? Stealths by the hook behind a rock, exposes the unhooked survivor, downs immediately. Huntress? Stands on a hill aiming an axe at the hook.

And who hasn't heard of a tunneling Spirit?

The problem for Solos is not just the fact we can't communicate with team mates around scummy tactics like this, is that it's an guaranteed de-pip because those strangers we're grouped with *immediately disconnect*. Or kill themselves on the hook. Last night we had a basement camping Oni, and 2 survivors disconnected at the same time because they were just done with it. So my friend and I are left in an impossible situation ( 4 generators left, like we're gonna get out). Yet this Oni tries to slug us both. God forbid we get any unhook points.

I feel bad because I'm the one who introduced this game to my friend, and now he's too irritated to carry on. What's the point? It's the same crap game after game.

Solo survivors are just the forgotten filler material between the Killer/SWF. SWF has a tremendous advantage over Killers. So Killers change tactics and get buffed to be able to oppose them (as they should!). But Solos just fall between the cracks, and I often feel like Behaviour is just throwing Solos to the Killers to keep them coming back because compared to SWF, they're easy to decimate.

    Exactly.

My gaming experience is just like you described it.

No one I know plays this game anymore, maybe occasionally 1, because of this “strategy”. When we know the killer had a bad game against a SWF and then takes it out on the solo squad next game.

Look at my Console thread. "It's Becoming Harder and Harder to Enjoy this Game."

Go ahead and try to invalidate everyone else's clips and experiences.

I know its bad sometime, but for me its not that bad.. kinda weird.

Anyway, it still is much smoother on PC which I hope they can address some day.

His Shred freezes the game if you charge it, it's fairly well-known

I play this game on pc and console and I’ve never had this problem.

Think you need to sweep some dust off of your console :P

  • I really don’t know. Which I could start a custom game on my own as well.

Like a practice mode to try out new stuff so I don’t ruin the game for others in a trial.

  • Unrelenting?

  • @Toblerone007 said:

    I agree completely.

You used to be able to in p2p days. You shouldn't have to commit to a ranked match where another player has an advantage over you because they have a bad connection (whether it's intentional or not). High ping VPN killers use it for an advantage.

They have to revamp the netcode and have hits only pay relative to the servers time. That or your suggestion.

Naturally this topic has been brought up a lot since release of dedicated server but alas it took five years to change the struggle mechanic. One day maybe.

    I'll do a repost in 2025 then! ;)

  • Most enjoyable ATM: Blight, Oni, Billy, Huntress, Demo, Pyramid Head

    Not enjoyable: Spirit, Hag, Twins

Then there is the rest which is just fine and fun, I have no problem with.

    I play 90% solo q.

  • @Axe said:

    Lerys already got reworked

Hawkins is already using the graphics BHVR is trying to push out on all the old maps.

So its just Haddonfield, backwater and red forest left now

Ok, I'll edit the post then. Thanks!

Hmmm, I might prefer it based on seconds just to make the numbers easier lol

    Indeed.

Thanks, I did not know this.

  • Really? Then I've missed something. Isn't it 5% for each injured survivor?

Anyway, still not too much IMO.

  • It's not that overwhelming, max 16 extra seconds of gentime, and that is if all survivors are wounded the whole time. That is not game breaking.

Counters: Resilience, toolboxes, heal, power through, cooperative repairing. Probably more.

  • Wild Kate appeared!

  • Remove Midwitch map. JK.

Balance solo survivor and SWF. In game speak/audio should be a priority and buff killers to balance again. Right now solo is so bad sometimes that everyone is desperate for friends to play with. Which again makes it miserable for some killers, its just an evil circle.

    Then balance matchmaking.

  • He must have had his timing off, you can't blind too early because then you will not get the save.

The pick-up animation takes about 3 seconds, it takes 1 second to blind. If you completely blind the killer before the animation is done the killer is blinded but don't drop the survivor.

  • I honestly think that the generator should regress 5% for each kick, it's weird that a big and strong killer kicking the gen isn't doing any damage. 5% is 4 seconds of work time for a survivor, and kicking a gen takes 2 seconds. It just seems unfair that a survivor can tap the gen to stop the regression after the killer kicks it.

It will still be worth picking up PGTW for the 25% regression as well.

tunneling is the same as it has always beem

new DS stops tunneling the same way old DS did.

    "

you just can't ######### abuse it now by gen tapping and healing mid ######### chase and baiting on totems.

What are you talking about? You must be a killer player?

I mostly play red rank solo, and there has been so much more tunneling this last week it's ridiculous, camping not so much. It's like the killers expect that no one is running DS anymore - there are maybe 1 per game.

I know that Killers are having a hard time against gen rushing SWF's and bullies, but when they do meet a group of solo's it's like they take their frustration out on us. Even when they are clearly winning :(

Don't get me wrong, I feel that there are mostly fair games right now and the DS nerf is a good thing.

  • Love the skin!

  • @Pilot said:

Being rank 1-2 and not getting killers that are above rank 4 is normal, at least for me.

Getting rank 9 and 13s in your team of survivors when ur playing solo ... is completely messed up and demoralizing.

However... the vice-versa can happen as well. This is a screenshot from a couple of days ago.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/RUQ15LJ8OYZY/untitled.png

Matchmaking is broken, what a surprise. I could've taken more screenshots like this, but I didn't bother.

I've farmed with the other 2 that escaped, hence why they have such high scores. The game ended really fast

    ------

Then again, looks like you developed a burnout and some frustration.

I would recommend taking a break, at least a couple of days and try your luck again.

Also yeah, Que times for survivor right now are terrible. I feel your pain.

    @Bastard_Disaster said:

I have the same frustration as well, it's not nice and I reckon it all boils down to BHVR not having a vision for their game. There's no set objective so it's all over the place and some killers just like to get the one hook kills and other swf teams just like to rush gens and t bag at the exit gates.

It's tough on both sides and it's hard to find that balance between stomping and being stomped that makes the game rewarding and fun atm.

That being said I do a few things to lessen the frustration.

-Play with a friend if you play survivor, just a duo is fun to play with and you can take the game less seriously if there's someone there to keep you level-headed and discuss your frustrations with or just meme a bit.

-Play the other side, just play the other side of the game if one is being very frustrating, that usually helps keep things in perspective for me

-Take a break, obvious and simple but it's necessary sometimes. Just be glad you're not one of those streamers who is now stuck only playing this game to be able to keep their channel/stream alive. Play something else. I hear Civ is a good game.

-Dont go in expecting to survivor or 4k. Set a low goal like simply doing a rift or getting mettle of man to proc, god bless Scoot Bund patron saint of mettle of man and flops. This helps me to focus on something else and by passively using what I know to get that goal I'm learning and achieving my goals.

It's difficult not to get frustrated in this game since by its nature it is a pyramid of difficulty and frustration of solo queue, killer then swf and no in-between with no set 'win' condition officially stated. Just try to have fun and if you're queuing up again like a gambler who lost again and again just cut your losses and take a break. A lot of doing well in this game is mentality.

TL;DR: Take breaks, play the other side, find a duo partner and set lesser achievable goals rather than getting out or killing everyone every game. This isn't life or death, just take it easy and remember that it's a silly arcade-y game about trying not to get stabbed by spider legs before you can pull a lever for 12 seconds :)

    Thanks for the reply guys.

I have decided to take a break for a while, and only play if I can get some friends to join in and enjoy the game with.

Hoping to get my motivation back soon.

  • Im guessing you are playing on console? Well, yes. That is a nightmare LOL.

I switched to PC in December and it is waaaaay better controls.

  • Its all right to me.

The movement feels better again and the hits seem fine.

    UI ok.

  • Wraith sounds like an elephant to me.

My favorite stun noise would be doc though. That stun is for real.

  • @Shirokinukatsukami said:

Is normal. Is it a little worse than usual? Not really.

Probably a bit worse than usual because from what I can tell a lot of survivors quit the game, because survivor queues are now instant. So that means smaller survivor pool for matchmaking, weirder matchmaking results.

Just a theory I'm talking out of my rear end here.

Your rear end is making sense :)

I can see why a lot of people are taking a break.

  • I’m sorry to hear that you always have bad ping. It’s not a good experience. Sadly, the only thing that would work is to move closer to the server.

Or install fibre network, we did it and ping dropped by 20-30 where I live.

Tbf that room has always been a death trap if you’ve been caught there

Indeed, but now its even worse considering they put in a breakable wall as well..

  • When you play it more, you can see that the middle part is just a wasteland of boxes. Very little to work with, in the rooms around though, there are a safe pallet in almost every room LOL. The SAW bathroom right by the basement is a dead end, really scary place to be as a survivor.

  • Its a shame, really. Money rules, I get it. But if players dont want to play then there will definitely dont be any money so its for the better in the long run.

Anyway, Im playing Killer until this gets fixed. Its not the worst right now :)

  • Same with me, played survivor most of the night last night but also some killer games.

3 games I was lying on the ground with a nurse nodding her head over me after slugging all 4 survivors till they bled out. Infectious-fright nurse vs a solo squad. Well done. Didn't get a single gen done.

1 game I played against the Twins and the same happened. Looked up the killers profile, he was from MONGOLIA. I am from Norway. WHY do I get matched up against him?? He had 100000s of comments about him being toxic as well. CLearly he is out to make other peoples lives miserable.

The fact that the hitboxes are all over the place does not help.

I also tried out Wraith, wanted to see how he is after the update. I got to say that I like the new wraith, but not vs a sweaty Rainbow-rank SWF. I am rank 8 killer and faces survivors ranked 1, 2, 10 and 18. The dude being rank 18 being the worst of them all, toxic-wise. Everyone having 1000s of hours played. WOW.

The same happened last time there was a BP-event.

    Hate it.

    Yet, I keep playing :(

  • Maybe all the bugs are hints? A new insect killer?

  • I feel with you. I have made 10 or so friends I know irl buy this game and only 1 have stayed to actually learn it. Everyone else feels it is more frustrating than fun and they just say it is a bad game. I even bought the game to 2 of them just to get them started but they uninstalled after a few weeks.

There might be a reason only like 15% (I think) of Stram-players get to rank 5 as killer/survivor (Steam achievements stats).

I can understand them. You have to invest a lot of time to get into this game and be ready for a big grind. It takes time to learn the maps, perks and killer powers etc. as well as game flow.

It is fun when you get there though.

  • The question really is which survivors perks should be in the base game and not have to be unlocked in any way? The survivors themselves are all the same.

Based on this I’d say Adam Francis. Deliverance, Autodidact and Diversion could all be in the base game IMO.

  • Breaks my heart to say it, but I’d have to say Twins. I was so hyped about them but I have met about 3 since the release. Been destroyed 2/3 times though. But, since they’re so rare I’d have to say Twins. The game wouldn’t change much. I can’t remember to have seen their perks either.

I don’t get all the hate for Deathslinger. I love to play him and against him. It changes the way you have to think, almost like a Huntress but not completely the same. I think he was a good addition.

  • Thanks for the post, Karu! Much appreciated.

And thank you devs, I feel these changes are taking the game in the right direction. Looking forward to try it!

  • 5 stuns and 25 teabags.

  • JungleGym.jpg

So, I couldn't let this go and tried to make one myself. Sorry for the bad drawing...

I miss a tile that can be looped over 2 floors. A little like some of the rooms in Hawkins, but outdoors. So I think it would be cool to add stairs and some sort of bridge over the tile. Also I wanted to have window and a pallet that can be used to loop and used to mindgame on both sides.

The bridge can also be used to look around.

    Thoughts?

  • @ALostPuppy said:

New tiles would be very welcome, but absolutely not the Yamaoka/Ormond ones. Please no. That long wall gym is so stupid and the other one is so weird I don't think anyone still knows how to run that tile, survivor or killer. The ones on the saloon are decent, but could be made better without the breakable walls.

Agreed! I have had some interesting chases around that gym though, with both me and the other guy being totally confused xD

  • I have my hopes up for MMR.

I bought a PC in december (been playing on PS4 and have everything there), I obviously had to start the grind over again and it helps me that I have done it before. BUT:

I am rank1 survivor now and that is solely because I have invested a lot of time played lately. My in-game mechanics though I feel is not good enough to hold my own, yet I face the most sweaty people. It just doesn't feel fair sometimes when I meet someone that is waaaaaay more better that me. I got the most important perks, but thats it. A daily challenge to escape with let's say, Kate, is almost impossible since I have her at level1 atm.

I have mostly been ranking up survivor since I like to play with my friends casually. So when I play killer I have yet only ranked up Bubba (for BBQ) and I am rank 10 killer, but all other killers are pretty much level1-5. With Bubba I can handle my own to at an average of 2K per game, but not anyone else.. I meet the same ranks with other killers as I do with Bubba, it feels wrong when I even haven't tried them out yet and I will. Killer on PC is so much better that on console imo.

I hope the MMR system will help with this! Fingers crossed.
