  • Pig, mostly because of what @Lx_malice said above.

Also, I still believe Billy is a top-tier killer. He still has insanely good map pressure and with the right build, I find it difficult to not be in a chase with him: Whispers to find survivors early on, Sloppy Butcher to keep them injured longer, off of gens while they try to heal, and get some more value in a normal attack (because it's just not very effective to go for saw hits every time), BBQ so you know where to zoom off to after a hook, and hopefully land a surprise saw hit (happens somewhat often actually), and then I usually finish off my build with Tinkerer, which often allows me to get saw hits at very effective moments as well.

All in all, I think any killer can be effective in the right hands and that's what makes this game fun - being surprised by things like a god-tier trapper in 2020 lol

I guess its relaxing if you go into every match expecting to lose because one survivor makes a POH ridicolous play. I cant stand solo anymore.

I don't go in expecting to win or lose. I just go in and play my match, contribute as much as I can to my team. Honestly you just have to normalize having fun even if you lose. I'm still escaping quite a few matches but I'm absolutely the player who'll trade hooks during endgame so someone else can escape just because going for plays like that is more exciting to me. That might be a loss for me but for somebody else, it turned into a win... Again, it's just perspective

  • I dunno man, I started playing solo survivor more often lately and it's so much more relaxing than almost always playing killer. Guess it's all perspective, but I really don't think solo survivor is bad at all ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ

  • I love it. I'm still having a blast with this game, even as solo survivor. It's honestly rare that I run into issues that are commonly complained about in the forums (camping, tunneling, dying on first hook, etc...). On the killer side of things, I see far less toxicity than I used to from survivors and can appreciate being outplayed. There are bugs, and I have faith that they'll be resolved. For now I'll just continue to enjoy this game as I have been for a long time now

  • I'm definitely a fan of the new maps. I'm glad they kept that little tint of green on Autohaven, but wish they would've kept the blue on MacMillan (but I still love the new MacMillan). I'm really excited to see what they do when they get around to Coldwind. I could imagine the killer shack being turned into gory butcher shop, that'd be sick

  • Resilience. Play injured, but heal yourself to 99 with a medkit and take half a second to fully heal when the killer is about to chase you. The whole time you're injured, you get a 9% speed boost on almost everything really. It's become one of my favorite survivor perks recently

That's a decent amount of effort for a response on the forums.

You deserve this upvote oni XD

Screw the upvote, give that man your macaroni. It's what he really wants!

  • Both. But at the moment, I've just got a cat

Pennywise would be dope. I could see that happening. I think there's room for two clowns, but if I had to guess more likely, Jason.

Both of those two would be sick, and I'd agree they almost have to be at the top of BHVR's wishlist. However, with the mess around Jason's licensing, he definitely isn't likely to be the next licensed killer. One day for sure, but it's just not possible right now, unfortunately... As for Pennywise, I don't think they're in a rush since we already have a clown (even though Pennywise is the better clown by far lol). At the moment, I could see either a Candyman or Hellraiser chapter coming up with how many people are talking about those two on here. But whatever happens, I'm more than ready for it lol

  • I disagree, there's enjoyment to be had in many different ways: Make a good play? Finish a challenge? Grab Dwight off a gen and spin in circles because you love him? All are fun regardless of the outcome of the match.

Besides, it's kind of a rush to play from behind and try to gain control! Just gotta create your own enjoyment if you ask me

  • It's just a fun game. I want to level up my characters, master my builds and playstyles, and try new ideas. On top of that, I just keep learning and discovering new things the more I play. Plus when you get a really close match, there's almost no better rush I've felt from a game before

  • @carnage4u said:

New game mode would probably involve them rethinking perks. I love the idea, but they built everything around this one game mode.

F13 game at least allowed their counselors to do multiple things. There wasn't just 1 goal. some worked on fixing cars, other worked on getting boat parts, other tried to fix the phone to call the cops. It was fun to have multiple options of things to do.

I've always thought a blend of dbd and ft13 would be an amazing game if it's done right!

  • Recently, I started playing survivor more often and kinda got pulled away from killer because of how much more relaxing it is to play survivor. I'll wait 5 or so minutes between matches and take some time to reassess my build, play on my phone, whatever as opposed to jumping right back in as killer and having stressful matches back to back with no break. Soon enough I'm sure I'll go back to about a 50/50 split between roles but for now, I'm just loving survivor

Are we playing the same game? Or did you now play Billy much in 2019? Billy has been horrible to play for nearly a year. Not exactly super buggy but not fun in the slightest. And BHVR aren't doing anything about it, they think it's fine that he has such horrendous animations and camera that they decided to butcher for no reason. They really need to stop touching things that didn't need to be touched because all they do is break them even more.

I did play Billy a lot last year and the year before, and I still play him a lot now. He's always been one of my main killers. While I agree he didn't need to be touched, I can honestly say it hasn't changed my playstyle or performance with him at all. I really just don't think new Billy is that bad ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  • I'd actually really like a You're Next chapter. I think we'd get a pretty cool modern hitman type of killer maybe with a crossbow and an axe and a badass survivor whose perks could offer new ways to fight back

  • I've been using Iron Will, Spine Chill, Lithe, and Resilience as well as bringing medkits to most matches. I can usually lose chase with Lithe after taking a hit and heal myself to 99% then play with the 9% boost on gens, totems, healing, really almost everything using Resilience, and Spine Chill gives me a heads up when I should be ready to heal the last little bit. Or, if I'm unable to heal again, I have a chance at hiding with Iron Will. It's been a pretty effective build for me playing solo. Just have to feel like a cocky ######### turning down teammates crouching next to me at gens because they wanna heal me lol

  • I mean... I've played mostly killer for as long as I've played dbd until recently. Switching to solo survivor has honestly been so relaxing compared to killer, and I don't think I'm alone in saying that

  • Anybody who complains about you doing what you need to do to help your team is just mad that you were effective against them with it. People just need to get used to being outplayed at times and accept that they're not a god

  • Don't mistake being forced to play differently with a killer not having any counterplay. If you have to stealth, then stealth. If you have to fake vaults, fake vaults. If you have to become less predictable in chase, play less predictably. When I play killer, I'm anticipating the survivor's next move constantly, and since so many people play almost identically, it's usually not hard to guess what their next move is. It's the survivors who are able to hide when they need to, able to trick me at windows, able to lose me in chase rather than run straight to a pallet that get me. Because of that, I mix it up with these strategies as survivor (especially against the killers you listed) and tend to have much better luck

  • Wait, what bugs are we talking about? Genuine question, cause Billy plays nice and smooth for me

He's too strong, just look what he did to me! Nah, but actually I think he's fine. I like killers that make you play different from the usual looping, plus his jumpscare potential can be a fun rush

The thing is, if they would only punish for the "Leave Match"-Button, players would just Alt+F4 out of their games. And even if they would punish for everything except for connection loss due to internet issues, players can get out of their games for free by just pulling the plug.

So they have to include everything, otherwise players who want to DC will have a free pass to do so.

That's valid, I hadn't really considered any of that I guess

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don't know if they will let us discuss it or not; but you should probably hop off for the evening. Not just for your teammates sake, but because the regression of it also takes longer and longer.

Last I tested it when it was new, it was like 5 min, 15, min, 30 min, an hour, and then it starts growing very rapidly into very long lockouts; but if you make it to say an hour long lock out but you DC again like 24 hours later it might be a 30 minute lockout or so again because it regresses slowly.

So best to just leave it for the evening at the 15 marker or the 30 minute marker one I find.

Thanks for the info! It's really too bad they're not able to distinguish between a DC and the game crashing. I want to love dbd, but sometimes it's just difficult lol

  • I started playing survivor more often lately and it's honestly such a refreshing change of pace, even playing solo

  • Yeah it's tough. I usually have to play killer with BBQ just to be able to level up more than half a bloodweb at a time... And what's even worse is when you can't even get the perks you want on a character until passing through level 50 multiple times over ๐Ÿ˜’

  • I would say Billy. You have to be more skilled to use his ability to down people (most of the time anyway) but even if you're not good at that, you can still make use out of being able to zoom across the map super fast, or even do a lap all the way around the map if you're able to steer well enough

    https://youtu.be/XGy5ZrJYwRk https://youtu.be/FjsK3NSYcZo

(To be fair, the Feng I got in the second video ran me in circles all match and I'm pretty sure she intentionally gave me the hit, so I carried her to the gate and let her go - she earned it lol)

  • I've only played RE7 but that game was amazing! I definitely need to try the others, even if they're quite different from what I've heard. Anyway, here's a fun moment from RE7:

    https://youtu.be/bp7uPuTJg5k

This one was pretty decent. Looking back I'm pretty sure he heard me turn and sprint up the stairs lol. Learning experience at least

  • Looks like grabs have been explained above. I've gotten plenty of hits through windows before, or I believe I've landed them over shorter fences as well. As far as I know it's a fair hit if the survivor is close enough

  • My grabs have become almost nonexistent unless I'm going stealth. What really sucks is after the grab animation begins, the survivor runs off and the grab gets canceled where you should at least get a basic hit. So you lose the grab and get no hit after an attack at point blank range...

  • I'm probably trying to learn a new killer and want to practice chasing... Otherwise it's a waste of time

  • I dunno, I honestly like playing solo more than playing swf most of the time. I don't seem to run into many of the issues people complain about on the forums either, maybe I'm just lucky. It just feels more intense and obviously more challenging playing solo, which is kinda what I look for in a game like this

  • Screenshot_20201119-105656_Xbox.jpg

Apparently people just enjoy it..? Kinda sad lol

  • I admit, I had to check myself in a game a couple days ago cause another survivor threw down a pallet that a downed teammate was under and ruined our chance at getting a pallet save and keeping our teammate off the hook. I was upset. A little later I got them off the hook and took just a little too long trying to heal which allowed the killer (a god-like nurse) to get too close, down and hook that same person just cause I thought I could fully heal her in time. Poor Nea, I apologize that you died from our mistakes

  • Yeah, I highly regret prestiging the few characters I did. Unless there's some new reward that makes it worth it, I won't be prestiging any characters again

Then the issue isn't leatherface, but the intentions of the human playing him.

For example, white guy in his ford f250 diesel intentionally decides to run over a black kid. If we assume racism is the motive, do we boycott ford?

That's basically what I was trying to say - that Leatherface himself isn't the issue, but that's how so many people are approaching the topic when they say things like, "Leatherface isn't racist, he'll wear anyone's face" or whatever. I'm just trying to open up a little different point of view how it made sense to me. Like if that white guy (or Leatherface) didn't have his Ford (or Claudette's face as a mask), he couldn't run the black kid (or the black dbd playerbase) over with it. Yet it's still a feature allowed in-game, and there are people who are bothered by it which is why the debate exists in the first place.

So yes, that is correct: Leatherface himself isn't the issue and no we don't boycott Ford in that instance, nor did I call for boycotting Leatherface in this instance

  • I'd love that so much. I haven't even played the whole first game yet but I own the second as well lol. Speaking of Evil Within, check out how bad I am at remembering controls when starting a new game... ๐Ÿ˜‚

    https://youtu.be/r6Yzc1yZC9A

  • I think there's a big miscommunication over the topic. I believe people are more upset over the fact that it allows some players who actually are racist to throw Claudette's face on simply because she's black. It doesn't matter if Leatherface himself isn't a racist, the issue lies within whoever's controlling him while wearing Claudette's face with ill intentions. Having that feature in this game allows those types of people to celebrate it differently from those who just see it as another cosmetic.

It's like this: maybe sweet, sweet Dwight himself would never teabag and click his flashlight at you; however, when controlled by someone else he gives that person the opportunity to use what he's capable of (in this case, crouching and using a flashlight) to teabag and repeatedly click his flashlight just to annoy you.

    Does that make sense?

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

While it's not the best solution:

Get lightborn. usually these swfs will bring flashlights from the start. then pretend to try to avoid getting blinded and mow them down. I have yet to have one swf to play like that that wouldn't result in a 4k simply cause they can't wrap their head around the idea their plan to be obnoxious isn't working.

Yessss the lightborn/agitation combo has given me so much value. Pick someone up in a position where you should easily bait someone into going for a save and turn your camera acting like you don't have lightborn. With agitation you might be able to run them down while carrying another survivor, and that's gotta be the most satisfying thing I've ever done in this game lol

  • Lol it's just a video game...

  • I prefer Billy, but still enjoy Oni as well

  • I agree more should be done to discourage camping, but this just isn't a very good solution as survivors already swarm the hook often. At least if I'm wasting time in a chase I won't win next to the hook because a survivor decided to stick around, their teammate might hit the struggle phase. And if your team lets that happen to you, you can't even blame the killer

  • Yeah, I still enjoy the hell out of this game for the most part. I wouldn't play if I didn't

  • I'm sorry your opponent didn't play the way you wanted them to

  • Happened to me the other day. I was gonna run around and sabo some hooks for extra bp's and did one as soon as the match started. Hook goes down, and instantly clown is on my a** lol

  • I'd like if they just defaulted to no items when switching characters in the lobby. They're not gonna get a quick switch to a 4-man identical Steve with keys unless they make that switch with enough time to equip their keys and add-ons
