  • I do that as killer. I don't typically see this particular situation, but more often people who I'm chasing running to a hook and "saving" the person right in front of me. I'll always just let that person go and kill the person who unhooked them right in front of my face instead. Or if they start lagging right in front of me pretty bad I tend to not take advantage of that.

But of course, if you're running around teabagging and clicking a flashlight at me then I'll disregard these personal rules and just say screw you too

  • #########. I didn't even think about the possibility of black friday sales. I just bought freddy, spirit, pig, and ghostface last week after refusing to spend any actual money on the game for a long time... Then I decided to cave in cause I play dbd more than any other games. I feel like an idiot now πŸ˜‚

  • It's super boring to play against, but you literally can't even get mad at them for doing it because it's almost the only option survivors have if they're in a chase. As killer I like when a survivor takes me through a few pallets right away so I can destroy as many from the start. Less looping to deal with for the rest of the game

If you are in a lobby as a solo surv, it is almost guaranteed because you cannot coordinate how many totems are left. So that means you have to search for every single hidden totem and make sure they're broken.

Also, it awards killers who couldn't get it done during the actual match. A speed boost and insta-down is literally what you would give to someone struggling.

I would definitely argue that "the actual match" still includes the EGC. It's not over when the gens are repaired, otherwise the game would end at that point instead of after all survivors are either dead or escaped (or killer DC's). The point of picking perks is to pick ones that will help you get the job done at any point, and NOED helps some with that. Killers generally don't patrol dull totems so it's not like it's unsafe to cleanse them 9/10 times, plus it's a super easy extra 1,000 bp's. Yeah it's easy to feel a victory after all the gens are popped but the game's still not over, it's just shifting objectives that you still have to try to survive while completing. NOED just makes it harder for the survivors just like survivor perks make it harder for the killer.

I generally play survivor more than killer, and yeah it sucks to get hit with NOED, but it's just part of the game, so

  • Everybody gets a boat and jaws gets two hits and then drags the boat to a giant octopus that is controlled by the entity. Other boats can come drag you away from the octopus just like being saved from a hook. Instead of pallets and jungle gyms, etc... there are harpoons and just random junk floating in the water that extends so deep that jaws would just lose sight if he went under it. After five signal towers on different islands are repaired, the exits are opened up and revealed.

I hope nobody took this serious because that would be a major garbage dump and I hope to god that it would never happen in this game

Edit: but if for some God awful reason this was implemented, baby shark is the chase music

  • I would lose my ######### playing survivor if I saw shrek running toward me and heard All Star playing as chase music. As much as I enjoy the serious side of DBD I really want to see more of a meme side as well

  • Best: Billy by a long shot. When I started playing, I always played trapper which just got stale. Tried a couple different killers and Billy became my favorite, probably because he resembles a character I played in a halloween attraction lol. Started getting better with him and he became my main.

Fun: I've experimented with Leatherface and The Wraith for a little bit, which is sometimes fun, but ended up becoming the same story as the trapper for me. More recently I've been playing spirit and really enjoying it. She might become a second main killer for me.

But I'd also like to become good with the nurse... Wish me luck on that one lol

It's been a while since i've seen a good insanity movie.

Plus, though we can't tell in the game, he's supposed to be very ######### smart, so i hope we get some SAW-level planning.

And that f'n laugh, dude... How it's somewhat staticky just sounds so creepy. I love it.

I've been to one of these before. It was a tractor ride through a corn maze and then you guys jump out with REAL chainsaws sans the chains and scare the crap outta people. This poor girl was screaming so hard, I bet your supposed to go for those ones huh? xD

I mean, I'm supposed to go for anyone I want really... Those ones just tend to be a little more fun to go after lol. That being said, there's still nothing better than making the big dude up front (we're told to jump out in the middle of most groups anyway - they're the ones who didn't wanna lead and tend to be more afraid) who's talking a big game about how nobody has scared him yet almost piss himself. I usually have to go a little over the top to get that scare, and obviously it doesn't work 100% of the time - but when it does... Oh man, that feels good πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  • I was playing against the wraith, played a really close game, the rest of my team died, and I'm left injured. After looking for the hatch, wraith found it first so I went to an exit gate. I hide behind a tree to watch for him to patrol the exit, and I saw the distorted air from him being invisible come close and then walk away. I go to open the gate and get it to around 80-90 when I see the killer come back. He reappears but the gate is so close to open I just stay on it until I realize I don't have enough time. I get off the gate at the last second and he downs me with the gate at 99. I'm thinking it's over, but I'm wiggling anyway. We walk past two hooks that must've had someone die on them and were unusable. We're right next to a hook when I finally wiggle free. I run to the gate and tap it open and escape. Easily the most intense finish to any match I've played

  • Chase people with a chainsaw

    No, actually...

    I work at a Halloween attraction πŸ˜‚

  • As much as I dislike when people kill themselves on first hook, I do think it's warranted under some conditions, but only after giving your team time to react. As a solo player (swf is annoying and a lot less fun on both sides imo) I occasionally have teammates who don't care whether or not I live. If I can see all of my living teammates' auras across the map and they quite obviously aren't going to come save me from the hook and go from one gen to the next instead, then yeah I'm gonna use my escape attempts and die. Otherwise I really am just wasting my time waiting for nothing. Maybe if struggling granted more bloodpoints I'd struggle and give them more time, but when they're not reacting to me on the hook then there's just no point

  • Maybe speed up the rate that the killer gets bloodlust when in a chase against someone in a swf group? Also not entirely sure how practical this would be, but if comms were based on proximity so you couldn't hear your teammates all the way across the map and had to be quiet when the killer is near you, I feel like that would actually be really fun. Again, not sure how realistic/practical it would be to implement something like that, but it would definitely make things interesting

  • You can play survivor or killer to do that challenge. Weird that you didn't get the 43k. I've been getting progress on that challenge with the bp's earned after each match

It really isn’t rude but you should at least be noice

I mean, if I would've known they were rank 20's I probably would've cut em a little slack... But there's no way to know until after the match. So I just did what I usually do and I doubt they had a good time, and now I kinda feel bad lol

  • @FriendlyGuy said:

Isn't it a bit unfair, if a rank 10 killer gotta face three rank ones and one rank 10? That's how the matchmaking was before.

Guess I wasn't aware of how it was before. Regardless, I'm not saying they should change matchmaking at all. I just feel like people should let their friends get a feel for the game before dragging them into a match they're quite obviously not prepared for lol

  • The unpredictability of this map is the best part, I'd say. As survivor it's more interesting to mix up the chase and find somewhere to hide rather than trying to loop all the time. I would honestly much rather have them rework other maps to be more unpredictable like Lery's is. It's just more fun. Doesn't eliminate looping, but adds other options with so many different rooms and obstacles inside the rooms to break line of sight. Chases are more fun as killer too, considering you're not always just chasing survivors around boring loops

I'm pointing out that Killers would not feel the need to camp if they did not feel a time pressure from the start of the match. You kind of missed the point, dude.

Killers did not camp as much before the genrush meta because they did not feel like they had to secure THIS kill, because, back then, 2-3 gens did not pop in the first chase like they do now.

So you're telling me that when you're pressed on time in a match, that you'll get a hook and further take up your own time to let everyone do gens instead of maybe getting them off gens and slowing the game down? If just one person goes for the save, that's two people by the hook, two people *potentially* on gens. Maybe you find one of those other two, that's one person *potentially* on a gen. If you're camping, once they realize it that's three people on a gen and the game is over faster. If you're not putting pressure on the gens, you're just asking to be rushed. Asking survivors to not to gens is like asking killers to not kill you. It's their main objective..

  • Dude I hate being the guy who dodges lobbies, but when, let's say, three people enter all at the same time that's a good indication that it's a swf group. Last night after getting screwed by some swf groups (saw the same three people in two games), just to see how many people were playing swf, I dodged lobbies when this happened and went six lobbies in a row before getting a lobby that didn't seem like swf. There's no doubt swf puts the killer at a huge disadvantage, and it seems like the majority of survivors are now playing swf rather than solo, which is absolutely sad. I mean, I get wanting to play with your friends, but doing it just to taunt the killer into chasing you so you can tell your friends they're safe doing gens? Or on the flip side, just so your friend can tell you you're safe on the gen? That takes away the thrill of playing a true survivor role. I mean, how much help do you need?

  • Jack Torrance from The Shining could be pretty fun

  • I love playing killer and being taunted by players who really just aren't as good as they seem to think they are lol

  • I disagree, honestly. I play solo all the time, and survive a fair amount of matches. I'm not about to say I'm an amazing player, like I've only gotten to rank 11 and I'm god awful at getting away in a chase lol. But plenty of people do just fine on solo. The game isn't meant to be easy for the survivors, that's why there are four of them so it's not game over after one or two kills and it doesn't get boring for survivors or killers. In my experience, if I die, it's usually on third hook, or if I'm hooked when the exit gates are opened, it's not uncommon for someone to run away from the gate to try saving me. Maybe you just have the worst luck with matchmaking...

This post just begs the question, how much help do you need?
