Neither does anyone purposefully kill themselves to activate these perks
I dont see people using them every game because thats is how you would need to play to use them

Bigger issue for this is losing healing progress whenever interrupted.
But yeah, if you want better iron will and trade off is few seconds longer healing, then it would be massive buff.
I wouldnt say that its an issue at all since it works the same way right now when you get interrupted.
On the second thought how about it doesnt take longer to heal but haemorrhage(effect as in you have to heal all at once or else it does back to 0) is baked into it?

You never said fun?
Then who made the title of this post?
Sorry i fixed it now. My point is its still boring to go against. Because all of those specific play styles are the same everytime someone uses them. Tombstone will always be boring because they always go to mori a person and the only counter is to not get grabbed. Broken mirror is played the same every single time hit and run and if they fail to pressure the gens its just gen simulator. Plague is boring because you cant heal or clense unless you are in swf especially if you bring multiple perks that are used for healing.
@Ivanynakov said:
In current game state we play blindly using few strong meta perks (both killers and survivors). Because other perks are just so risky to pick that it doesn't worth it.
I think that players (killer and survivors) took turn in choosing perks it would bring much more strategy into the game. And suddenly all perks would make sense.
The argument I've heard is than some perks would become useless when another side knows about them. I don't think so. Being aware of enemy perk doesn't negate it. It changes the playstyle in more mindfull direction.
Its not even strong perks that I am talking about, urban evasion against hag, spine chill against mikey with broken mirror. Not having a healing build vs plague.

It's part of the game to discover who is the killer and what he uses, I love to recognise them and adapt my playstyle
I don't mind if the killer can see my build while the trial is loading (remember we are in a 4 vs 1 game) , but i won't like the other way around, it would too busted, especially for SWF and to a certain degree soloQ
This is a statement I didnt ask for anything to be implemented.

Agreed. Remove all red addons. Both killer and survivor. And I don't mean specifically rarity. I mean OP stuff. In meyer's case, that's tombstone piece. For blight it's C33+alch ring. For spirit it's MDR+amulet. For plague it's both iri's. Huntress iri hatchet. Clown pinky finger. Etc.
Cries in medkit addons... literally the only good addons are ultra rare

So they are basically fun for you, when you can completely counter their power. Makes sense...
The fact that it would be exact opposite for them doesn't matter.
I really like to play against mirror Myers. He makes this game actually feel like a horror game. Not just game of tag.
I never said fun, its just boring. Why do I have to play with my hand tied to my leg because of what addons you choose. The only counter to it is to rush gens, there is no interaction from killer by design. If you want to feel like you are in horror game play against pig.

If survivors could see killer and his add-ons in lobby, lot of killers would be unplayable.
Also lot of dodging the lobby.
Just no, there is a good reason why it's hidden.
Literally not my point, so objectively you are right but you are barking up the wrong tree.
You cant really enjoy no matter what you will say a match where myers sees through walls without spine chill (unless they are bad in which case its still boring because you gens will pop relatively quickly). Same with hag if you dont have urban evasion for at the very least unhooks. Plague if your current build is made around healing. Nurse if you dont like 5 second chases in open spaces. Tombstone is never enjoyable but especially if all 4 survivors dont know to spam gens/jump in lockers/do bones/vault when he has tier 3.

You can report people because they HIDE?
What the actual hell is this, that's so dumb.
You can hide as long as someone else is doing gens or gets chased by the killer

4: The game should do something to punish survivors that are hiding for excessive amounts of time, since they are breaking the game rules. Maybe give them all 3 crows, so the killer can easily find them.
They are already punished since you can report it.
-
@DaddyMyers_Mori said:
Your buff to survivors would result in killer perks nerfing.
Sloppy would be brutal against this. You would never get to heal unless you go hide in corner of the map.
Nurse's calling to interrupt any healing if possible, your progress is gone and it will be even slower next time you try it.
Bad idea, also making the game worse for new players.
But that depends entirely on how much the healing time is extended. Also sloppy couldnt be changed so that it doesnt take into account extra time.

Are you saying we should encourage hiding in a corner for 15 minutes until the killer finds someone and on top of that reward the survivors for it? the killer stomps you but you stayed still for 5 minutes so congrats here's some BP and only a 2K for a killer who was clearly winning?
Also nothing forbids you to hide currently, unless you literally afk in a locker? Which again, why would you want to encourage that?
Genuinely don't understand why you would think turning this game into a hide & seek simulator would be a good idea. Sure stealthing can be fun for some survivors, but I'm not sure many killers would stick around if they had to go around checking every locker over and over again because they were winning too fast.
Finally, if there's 3 gens (or more) left the chances of survival are low but they wouldn't be so low if survivors did gens instead of hiding.
Anyways, hope i grossly misunderstood what you were trying to say (and I'm sorry if that's the case)
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3412374#Comment_3412374
Side note on this: perks that gives survivor a bonus when their teammates die have never been any help to solo q, it just encourages selfish plays. the idea is nice but these perks always backfire into the form of a P3 claudette waiting in the basement for their teammates to die.
All i said one of said 3 scenarios needs to be implemented for survivors to try doing literally anything. Hiding is by definition holding the game hostage so you cant hide, but thats the safest way to actually escape which is the goal of entire match.
Also regarding the perk Sole survivor its ######### because +75% is nothing when you are last survivor as I said 2 vs 1 with more than one gen you would need 100% + at least 200% gen progression speed so that you can make one gen solo at 22.5s thats fast. Sole survivor would need to be +400% to actually make a difference since you would need to finish a gen before killer checks all of the remaining gens.
-
@DaddyMyers_Mori said:
It's part of the skill of survivors to find out what perks and add-ons is killer using.
It's quite easy with Myers.
Didn't go to tier 2 and used indoor map offering = mirror.
It took him 3 gens to get into tier 3, I would suggest jumping into locker whenever he gets close to you.
Vaulting window or working on gen also works.
You will find out really fast Hag is using Shackles...
I don't mind Hag, but shackles are so annoying.
Skill is irrelevant to the topic. I have played enough games to know who plays what but if I dont have specific perks against that, its going to be boring game and I will definetly not try my best in that game.

Just use the "Autodidact" perk and won't have to change anything.

@Cynwale said:
I agree, the crows thing it pretty annoying.
As a Killer, I think stealth is the road people should go into, chasing isn't fun cause your retire pallets and boom loopers are suddenly all gone.
So you're not chasing a survivor, you're chasing pallets.
But I don't understand the third point, what?
And 200% progression speed should be a perk, to help solo queue.
As in you get end game screen. Match ends with 2 survivors alive but everybody gets some extra points because match ended prematurely
-
Afk killers should get crows... Killers standing near 3 gens for prolonged amount of time should get crows. Killers camping or tunneling should get crows.
How about they fix the game before they start giving everything crows as a bandaid
-
You could make any or all have healing +1000000000000000000% and I would still not use it on anybody besides me. The only time I would use it on somebody else is at exit gates before running out. You are better off bringing any healing perk if you are so inclined to heal someone...
-
Would 3 health states but you are dead on 2nd hook (and somehow killers can’t tunnel the person out) be viable for both sides?
-
Unbreakable is too situational to have a requirement. To even attempt that you would have to make it impossible for killer to pick up survivors for 20s. I would be fine with self care one, tho I hate when something like healing has 24 stacks since it’s basically 1 stack of heal. 48 stacks or at least 36 stack would have been better

at least you have an idea i guess.
how about this:
since items are the equivalent to powers in the bloodweb how about making all items available at all times and universally making it so they're all balanced.
in theory this is similar to what you wanted right?
so to continue the idea of "dropping an item". what if in order to get an item in the first place - rather than discover it in the blood web you have to get it out of a chest in a trial then escape with it?
once you do that - you have unlimited uses of the item until you "drop it" in a trial. then you have to get it again.
that would free up blood webs for exclusively perks, offerings, and addons similar to how killer's blood web works and increase the value of perks like pharmacy and whatever the flashlight one is.
Then you would have no use of bloodweb period after getting all perks.
-
@wydyadoit said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/364521/can-we-remove-item-rarities
well... then what would be the point of the blood web? as a survivor what reason would you have to search chests? ace in the hole would be dumb as well as plunderer's instinct?
You use more addons than items. I have more than enough items to last me a life time same thing cant be said for addons. So items in chest could spawn with very weak or no addons. Ace could still do its thing for 2 addons. plunderers could show chests and grant just one rare or very rare addon.
-
Simply make it so that if a killer hooks someone out of the game 3 consecutive hooks. Everybody gets 100% to get progression speed.
-
How about we change it to you are guaranteed to self unhook but you get a lot of debuffs in exchange. So for instance you get broken for 3 minutes, also get deep wound timer and debuff to actions for 3 minutes at lets say 25%.
-
Do you know what would be a better move? Place the majority of best perks in the base game (within reason)
And then just have "eh" perks across the board and it would matter, because then perks would enhance certain game play and not create it
-
@xni6_ said:
and then a survivor aggressively uses ds. in these 30 seconds where the killer is unable to move, 33% of 4 different gens can be done. now that is balance.
what they could do, is make it better to not tunnel than to tunnel
DS should be basekit and no longer a perk. This way they can adjust it as they wish. But that's the case for majority of perks.
-
They should make survivors be ghosts for duration of the BT. They go through walls cant be hit etc. After 5 gens are done it no longer grants you ghost status.(just so people can't get free escapes)
-
@Raptorrotas said:
"Be happy with a 3k, you dont need 4"

I am ok with not escaping all the time. As long as Doors get opened by survivors every game. Otherwise I don't even consider it a match since there was no chance of winning as survivor.

The way the server validation is supposed to work, is if the server gets the hit event before it gets the dead hard event, then it’s supposed to register the hit. Server validation isn’t supposed to check if you pressed deadhard within a certain timeframe after your screen showed the killer attacking.
Yes but if killer has high ping they can hit me before I think they will hit me because of discrepancies in my and their view and I can't use dh if I am already on the ground.
-
@Verconissp said:
You had 5 years to abuse the dh though,
It don't need to come back, should be stayin' dead as a perk or just deleted from the game entirely =D
It was for like a year or two and then they broke it when they switched from p2p to servers. (Exhausted on the ground etc.) They fixed it recently and now it's broken again. If killer is playing with high ping you have to use it before killer even thinks of hitting you.

This is a very neat and engaging concept! My only fear is this would entirely enable complete stealth plays by survivors who only want to escape (kinda like F13). Hiding the entire match would inevitably lead to an incredibly frustrating meta that would need to be addressed immediately. That being said, perhaps some additional brainstorming on how to prevent that would make for some interesting discussions! :)
What would the consequences be of the deadly fog? Would it reduce health states? Reveal locations?
Alternatively map is filled with deadly fog and survivors have oxygen tanks on them. Gens grant you oxygen for working on it. All is good until you run out of oxygen and then you get slowed, blurry vision, and eventually death.

That deadly fog is well... deadly as the name suggest. You have to do gens constantly (until the timer runs out) between chases in order to stop the fog from appearing. If survivors don't do gens then they start getting poisoned. Each survivor has 1 minute of poison resistance. It doesn't refresh. If gens stop after a little while it starts ticking down until you die.
-
I assume it would depend on how long the match is. If it's a long match you would have to ban camping and tunneling since you can't speed up the timer. Alternatively you could speed up the timer when camping and tunneling happens.
Either way you would have to fine tune durations and what's not allowed when the system is in place.
-
If you wanted to nerf iron will. You could have made it so you get 100% quieter for 30 seconds everytime you get injured. (Amount gets reduced by 5 for everytime you go from healthy to injured)
Because now nobody will use iron will and on top of it they will have to rework spirit again.
-
The only reason there is so many counters to counters is because base mechanics where never chanced for past 6 years...

Wonderfull idea, So I can get body blocked by someone not only for 12 seconds but for a whole minute !
Unless you want the unhooked survivor to become a ghost of somekind that materialize back only when interacting with anything ?
But like i said it in this thread. They are like a ghost or like mikey when he stalks. You can walk through them. They are not affected by anything and they cannot affect anything. If they dare to do anything that disables DS they lose invulnerability. So the only downside to this is that you cant tunnel. You could camp the hook to down the person unhooking tho.

Doesn't this neuter killers like ghostface and hag?, since while the unhooked person has this invincibility they can trigger all traps without punishment and follow ghostface to reveal him, same with freddy pallets/snares, artist crows, and even twins because they could kick victor without any drawbacks.
Well i said that they would be like ghost. So they wouldnt trigger traps, reveal ghostface. If they kick victor they lose invulnerability status because they slow killer progression.

Have you ever tried swinging at nothing when chasing a survivor?
If the distance you gain by invalidating the hit is so big that its already too big of an issue. Why would dashing 1-2m forward be that big of a deal?
-
@BrokenSouI said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2984147#Comment_2984147
Because right now. Most maps have no resemblance of balance to them. They're too big. Too many pallets. Holding W alone is too strong of a strategy on most of them.
Maps need to drastically be altered to allow killers to get pressure a lot more easily. Way before they punish/disallow camping/tunneling. You can't take away something that gives a killer SOME sort of pressure, and give nothing back
But as I said, making map smaller doesnt balance it. You would have to make loops and pallets stronger. You would have hooks 2 seconds away, making wiggling completely pointless. It would 100% make gen rushing more prevalent. You would have to nerf and buff alot of perks to fit the new map realities.
Back to my question how does map size affect the killer who wouldnt be able to even sniff the unhooked survivor. You could make the map 1 by 1 meter long and the killer would have to stand there and do nothing for a minute so that he could finally down him the survivor. You could say that without it (1min immunity) they would just tunnel and camp the other person but the game will still end before that happens especially if the survivor got BT effect and DS. So instead they could know that they cant do anything to the person that was unhooked, instead focus on either the person who unhooked or stop the other 2 surivors doing gens.

Dead Hard is "make killer miss attack" but with extra steps and a dash..
yes but without the distance you will just get hit again right away. unless you are literally in the middle of the pallet or infront of the window ready to vault.

I think the easy "Fix" would be to remove the dash, that's the gripe most killers have with the perk.
You can keep your free hit which still works with the theme of being "Hard" but you can't act like you're in the world tag championship.
Yeah it exists.
Unless you get some insanely long wipe animation i dont see how it would be beneficial for anybody to use a perk that makes killer miss attack once.

Unless they massively nerf maps...Which they wont. Thats a terrible idea.
I dont understand how. They would be like a ghost to the killer and survivor wouldnt be able to do anything even bodyblock until they touched a gen, totem, doors, heal etc. You would still be able to down person who unhooked. Also how does map size affect any of it. Also for sake of arguement lets say they did make all maps smaller you realize that you would have pallets everywhere those pallets would have to be strong every totem would be visible because of lack of space on the map, etc.
-
Killer shouldnt be able to interact with unhooked person for like a minute or until they do any progress in the game. Its a simple fix that would stop tunneling, but killers could camp to down unhooker.
-
I would prefer if hug tech became an addon with a downside than being straight up removed from the game.

But that's just me.
Deliverance with no requirement feels dumb, but when I use it I dont play like i would with any other perk. Also when i dont get to use it i just rush gens.
