  • Pick up a controller, Play as Nurse, play my best.

That's a guaranteed way for me to depip. It's also good practice for the inevitable kill all 4 survivors using the Nurse tome challenge.

The thing is that ranks do not represent skill on a 1:1 basis as was mentioned many times before in this thread.

As of now, ranks represent rather how much you play instead of how well you play, so ranks aren't a reliable indicator on how well or skilled someone is. With ranks being disabled soon as means of matchmaking, this won't be an issue anymore. I'm not sure on whether they decide to keep ranks implemented in the game, but they won't be there for matchmaking any longer as far as I've understood their statement.

What I'm trying to say is that OP's post and screenshots actually prove that ranks do not really matter in this game anymore. If we take into account every game in which matchmaking seems not to work, we've got at least 7 games in which s/he got an average of about 2,5 kills which is above what the devs would call "balanced".

The ranks will still be there but they will not be used for the purposes of matchmaking. Which makes me think that they have already switched on the MMR.

  • Give him a yellow outfit, make him say "Get over here" and he should take his face off and breath fire for his fatality. I mean Mori.

  • When I first started the game, I got very used to his camp and tunnel playstyle. After getting rescued from the hook I would run and run and run. No matter how many laps of the map I did, as soon as I started healing...bing bong...and I was back on the hook again.

This was before I learned to stop healing in the corner of the map and heal at pallets instead.

  • I like people that play all the killers. I'm also impressed that you showed the screenshots of all the games, not just the ones that backed up your complaint.

  • Yes they are listening to 80% of the players.

  • Switching off matchmaking rank checks. I fear the worst seeing game after game of red rank survivors facing yellow rank killers.

It could be a bug but they did say to expect these mismatches of rank when they switch on the MMR.

It is...its a result of not enough killers playing at the Red Ranks, which happens because of GEN SPEED which cant be countered anymore because of RUIN.

Because of this the search parameters widen, because in the end its more desired to get a match with possible rank miss-matching / bad ping, then no match at all.

Thats why you end up with these RANK DISAPARITIES after a long SURVIVOR QUEUE time which take long because the search parameters widen because it cant find properly ranked killers because gen speeds prevent them from doing well because ruin was nerfed so their number 1 counter they relied on is gone.

There was supposed to be a hard limit of a 6 rank disparity. Even THAT was rough as it matched red rank with green but they really need to put that limit back.

Yes it will lengthen queue times but as more lower rank killers are giving up, that also lengthens the queue times.

    > Late DLC again.

Its not late as no date was ever announced, just because you assume something based on past events does not make it real.

    > Make Doctor even MORE frustrating to play against.

They adressed the exact problem people had, namely that it requires the doctor player to actively know/guess where survivors are, before it was passive and that is what survivors deemed cheap.

    > Butcher Hex: Ruin

Ruin is different now, idk how much experience you have with it but it can still be super fun/effective but whatever I never used Ruin anyway, too cheap, atleast now its more fair.

    > Fortnite Battlepass

Crying over optional content which will cost you nothing as long as you do the tasks? smh...

    > No more events

Yep, I agree, this is some lazy boring bs, I loved the events, I miss them greatly.

    > Slugged survivor sound bug

Yep, this is also bs, survivor bugs get fixed asap, killer bugs have to wait.

    > Survivor queue times

Play killer then? reduce the queue time for others while you get fast games yourself?

    > Gen speed

Yep, bit of an issue, but also, git gut.

    > No console KBM support

Playing the game on console and blaming BHVR for no proper KB&M support lol

    > In game rank disparities

You are kinda doubling up on issues to arbitrarly lengthen your list, Ruin, Gen speed, Survivor Queue and Rank disparities are all kinda the same related issue.

I think the rank disparities should be on this list. So many screenshots posted here and on Reddit of new yellow rank killers facing battle hardened red rank SWFs makes me worry that many killers will leave the game.

This is not caused by Ruin, gen speeds or survivor queues. Although I accept that BHVR may have switched off matchmaking checks because of the problems they have caused.

  • @ToastyBois said:

Honestly, ruin. Yes, games are fast af now, but I’ve had more fun as killer actually being able to run 4 perks rather than 3+ ruin. Unpopular opinion, but it’s an opinion, so ######### you :)

That was one of my favourites. I feel like the game is in limbo now while they try to compensate for the speed in which gens are done without Ruin, but at least they don't have to balance the game for both with Ruin and without.

For the long term health of the game, I'm glad to see the back of the free wins old Ruin could give you.

  • I like to teabag them for the entire duration of the self-care if they do that.

Not all that excited for the new chapter so i don't really care. More waiting form the next archive.

The new killer is a little uninspiring but I am looking forward to playing on a new map.

  • Since the new killer seems to be considered in a good spot for release I can't imagine a good reason for them to stray from their two weeks after PTB pattern. If he was as broken as PTB Ghostface was then I could understand it.

The only reason I can think for them needing an extra week is that maybe they have decided to fix matchmaking.

I'd certainly take a weeks delay if it meant I could verse people of my own skill level.

  • I seem to be a Ghostface magnet. I'm sure I get more than my fair share of Ghostface matches, he always comes to me first and I'm never paying enough attention to avoid getting instadowned at the start of the match.

If I last to the end of the match I am trying to find the exits while facing the outer wall just so that I don't accidentally "spot" him. Oh and of course no terror radius means that's he's probably watching this potato survivor hugging the wall trying to get out. And probably recording it to post on YouTube.

Or just spend down to 900k and save again? Its what I've been doing since saturday lol. Also have almost 16k shards for SoS before AND after it changes.

But I'm so close to 1 million. I'd never get that close again without going over.

I am aware how sad this sounds!

Soo... nurse and huntress are the worst killers cause someone just picked them up and do terrible? That's the same case with any other killer. I could say that spirit is the worst cause people that just play her for dailies get looped for days and i am 100% correct going by your logic.

I don't know what you mean but Nurse and Huntress require precise controls. Spirit does not.

I'm sure there were some stats that reflected this where both were further down in the table than PC players would have expected but it wasn't really important to the point that I was making - In my opinion, console players will not be used to god-tier Huntresses and Nurses because on console, they do not perform so well.

Nurse and huntress the worst killers? Since when? Have i missed something?

Yes you did, on console we are used to these killers being a pushover. Although there are some really good console Nurse and Huntress players, usually you hear the scream or the humming and can expect a nice easy game against somebody who is just doing a daily.

Being consistently near 15-20FPS is a huge disadvantage on it's own. But once you consider how limited the sensitivity is and pair it with the crappy FPS, it becomes a massive disadvantage. So much so that sometimes it's difficult to even land a simple swing. Console survivors would still be at a disadvantage due to the frames too. Console can't even reach what a somewhat decent PC can. I can at least play killer and know my opponent is operating the game roughly the same as I am, which at least makes the game more fair. Like I said, if they were to improve these aspects, there would be no downside.

I think it only matters if you are directly comparing yourself to other killers as killer and other survivors as survivor. On console we a definitely more likely to lose a survivor because of the framerate. But that will be the case whatever format our opponent is on.

I can play DBD on my laptop at a far higher frame-rate on Ultra than my PS4 Pro can manage. It makes no sense when you see how beautiful PS4 God of War is in 4K AND with a decent frame-rate.

  • I have currently have 999750 bloodpoints ready to put into the new characters. If it doesn't come out tomorrow I'll probably not play for a week. I'll never get that close to a milllion again without going over.

I'd rather wait an extra minute to find a game that is fair than to find a game where I am at a significant disadvantage solely because of the platform I'm playing on. If they managed to fix the FPS and controller limitations as a killer, sure, I'm all for cross play. But until then, I'd rather play the game knowing I have a fair chance in every game I play.

You aren't really at a disadvantage on console. Yes killer is harder with a controller but you won't be versing another killer so it shouldn't matter. Mouse and keyboard survivors are arguably the ones at a disadvantage compared to survivors on controller.

Console survivors will be in for a shock when they verse the two worst killers in the game though - Nurse and Huntress.

  • I know that some of you PC players are getting a little scared at the prospect of playing console players. Don't worry, we'll go easy on you. 😉

    I like facing SWF.

I think once you have established yourself as a regular rank 1 killer, SWFs could still be enjoyable.

But for those of us that languish outside the top echelons, facing survivors that are both red rank AND on comms is a huge problem. For the sake of keeping killers playing the game, I would love to see this as an either/or situation. I'll willingly take on red rank survivors OR I'll take an SWF. But for those games that are both, please don't match purple and green rank killers with them.

  • @yeet said:

ofc the devs will ignore the fact that 1 DS in a game forces you to have to treat every survivor like they have DS because there's NO indication to see who actually has it

    Schrodinger's DS.

  • I feel so bad when I one hook and Mori someone because they brought in a key and it turns out to be a green one.

  • @asergioam said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1132974#Comment_1132974

But will you focus on them, kill them and farm with the other 3 or will you continue to play normaly and kill everyone? There's a big difference here!

Yes I think that is where the difference lies. Repeated tunnelling and using a Mori of the same player should not be bannable when they are part of the game. Many killers will identify the weakest survivor and take them out early. That could look like the killer is targetting someone personally, when it could just be their playstyle.

  • @Laakeri said:

I dont care what killers run as if noed gets more than 1 kills thats survivors fault for failing to act.

On other hand when I see my team mate(s) running urban evasion / spine chill / self care Im ready to flip a table.

I run Windows of Opportunity so you flip that table!

  • I think the Deathslinger needs some work before release. I don't think console players will even see him after the first week.

  • As a solo I don't like Noed because I have no way to know whether all the totems have been cleansed and I can't just go running around looking for a totem that might not exist when there are gens to be done.

But with the current balance of the game, with so many survivors running perks that are far more powerful than Noed, you should absolutely not be ashamed of using it.

  • @ccactus623 said:

A more recent one is mettle of man it killed m1 killers, not that I agree with its current state

Actually I forgot about that one. I played without ruin back in the day and 4 players all running Mettle of Man was almost a guaranteed loss.

I'd rather have it as a dead perk than an OP one. But I haven't seen Ash in a match for quite some time!

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1132958#Comment_1132958

We're talking here about griefing, where one individual is being targeted match after match - that is something that we will investigate - it's not about tunnelling off the hook or using mori's, but targeted harassment from reading the OP's post and replies.

And whilst you are right about the messages being the responsibility of Sony on PS4 and they deal with any chat offences, they can also be used to back up a report of this nature, because it has a definite in game effect.

All cases like this are looked at on an individual basis.

The OP did not claim that he got messages from his opponent. He said the messages were between him and his opponent's mate that was banned by Sony.

If my playstyle was to tunnel EVERY player in EVERY game one at a time, and Mori people a lot, someone who I didn't realise I had played multiple times could show "evidence" that I am targetting them.

What if the killer is just reacting top the current balancing and matchmaking crisis by bringing a Mori into EVERY game?

Without any claim of messages between the OP and his opponent, I rule the defendant not guilty.

  • @stylisticx said:

    That's all.

But I'm injured and I'm helping you take a hit for me so I don't do down. 😀

  • "The random is coming to save me, stay on your gens"

Compare how powerful that is compared to the solo experience when you are dangling from a hook and three people are just...crouching.

  • @asergioam said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1132958#Comment_1132958

Has I understood from the OP, there are messages to back up the griefing. And if not, if the same killers sees you in several matches, tunnels you, moris you and farms with the other 3 than it is cleary griefing and is bannable.

PS4 messages are not admissable as they are Sony's domain so it would have to be purely on the gameplay.

If I saw someone like Truetalent, Ochido or Ayrun in my survivor lobby I would 100% bring a green Mori specifically with the intention to take them out. And if I saw them the very next game, guess what, I need to bring another Mori. I wouldn't be greifing them, I just know that they are way above my skill level and I don't like to lobby dodge.

If you are banning players for repeated use of Moris then what's next? Bans for repeated use of keys?

  • @Mandyalk - I'm confused why you agree that this is bannable. Neither tunnelling off the hook nor using Moris are bannable. This could even be that players play style, bring a Mori into every game, take out the first person you see.

  • @Fibijean said:

They've made great strides recently, but the game is far from perfect, and there's still a lot more they can do. The devs have said in the past that they plan to keep working on and supporting DBD for as long as there are people who want to play it.

So they'll only support it for a few more weeks then?

  • @Walker_of_the_fog_96 said:

why nobody wishes me a happy birthday to me :(

    Happy Birthday @Walker_of_the_fog_96!

  • Why would anyone pick Wraith! What is wrong with you people!

  • As a killer I have already decided what rank my survivors are by the end of the game. I'm often wrong but once they hide the rankings I'll just start stubbornly assuming I was right.

I like to see the rankings just so I can feel better about my performance. "Oh that was a rank 1? Then I don't mind that I got destroyed", or "That was a rookie Huntress running a single level 1 perk? I'm trash".

  • I have a question. If on average two people per match run DS, is it a worthy gamble to tunnel the first person down that isn't the obsession?

  • Skill checks aren't really skill though lets be honest. They only put them in there to stop people texting while they work on a gen. Or from falling asleep.

  • I don't understand any of these.

    I'm too old for memes.

Isn’t he like a purple rank killer/green rank killer? No offense but those survivors aren’t exactly operating at peak gen efficiency

Last time I Watched @Peanits he was in red rank, playing a variety of killers against red rank survivors. And winning.

It actually made me a little sad that anybody watching could think killers OP plz nerf.

  • I wonder if some surviver mains even value bloodpoints. Some players only play survivor, and only play one character. So they only need to get the other survivors levelled up to unlock their teachables and then what's the point of bloodpoints when their main has 100 Commodius toolboxes in their inventory.

I play all the killers so bloodpoints are in really short supply as each killer needs many millions of bloodpoints spent on them just to unlock BBQ at level 3.

Is there any particular reason you blindly believe one person's stats and not another's? Not saying op is lying but your logic doesn't check out

Because @NoShinyPony has not given me a reason to think she would post stats that paint a picture that backs a hidden agenda. That "other" source of stats has been accused of presenting their information in a way that suits them, forming a conclusion first and then building stats that will reinforce that conclusion.

  • Thank you for posting that. It is really interesting and the great thing is we don't need to question your findings like we do with certain other stats out there.

  • @Hoodied said:

Well, the issue isn't really Gen speeds....Solo gen speeds that is but with teammates thats more people off generators

    Its map size and design

If all survivors get onto a different generator at the start of the game on Mothers dwelling as clown for example, you cannot apply pressure easily as you will lose generators quickly

You are very probably correct, but right now I would take changing the code from TotalGenTime=80 to TotalGenTime=90 in a heartbeat. Somebody could do that in their lunch break.

  • The best way is to do gens.

  • I have been having really rough killer games since the rank reset. I was looking forward to some chill games with fun builds and different killers but have had nothing but elite survivors and heavy defeats. If they have flipped the SWF matchmaking to match with the lowest rank member it would certainly explain my dip in form.
