How often do you encounter an AFK killer? I can't remember it ever happening in the 2.5 years I've been playing this game to be honest. I'm not sure a perk should be balanced off of potential killer AFK. A counter to that with BBQ(though I really don't think it's useful to compare the two perks) is when a PC DCs before you can hook them. That's now an impossible stack to get.

As for survivors who would abuse the system if you got stacks with gens, I maintain there is a sizable enough portion of the survivor base that would keep gens off the table when it comes to stacks. Of course, I've also never really had a problem getting stacks on my WGLF. I honestly can't remember the last time I was not able to get 4 stacks on WGLF. Thanks to survivor DCs, however, it's not uncommon to miss 1 or 2 stacks.

The AFK example is mainly not just WGLF, but a fundamental problem with how survivors are dependent on the killer for points, who is split between 4 people. Also the protection and reunion events are broken and basically don’t exist. I’d rather get it generously, then not get it when I’m on another survivors shoes

BBQ has a secondary component because if it were strictly used for BP gain then no killer in his right mind would remove 1/4th of his perks for it while trying to rank up (we are, in theory, supposed to be trying to rank up, right?).

If someone takes WGLF then that's only 1/16th of the survivor team's perks.

While I agree the tokens should be more easily obtainable (the current requirements assume that a killer is doing well enough that there are plenty of unhooks to go around), a secondary effect is unnecessary. Perhaps make consistently hitting great skillchecks be a trigger for a token? Or repairing the equivalent of a full generator?

Yeah, it needs a buff. Tokens need to definitly be easier. Or simply require less

Agreed, WGLF needs more ways to earn stacks besides be limited to being altruistic!

Wanna know what will happen if WGLF awards stacks for gen repair or pallet stuns?
People will continue to do their gens while you struggle at the hook. Why should a survivor risk his life for a stack, if he could just get it safely by doing gens?
People are pretty selfish. Your change would result in more 1 hook deaths.

    @Tsulan
If a survivor let's you die on the hook then it's gonna come back later to bite them. With less survivors, it will be harder to do generators since you're more likely to be found repairing a generator. If there was more survivors then you could easily repair a generator since the odds are that the killer would find another survivor to chase while patrolling buying you time to complete a generator and earn your stack.

Additionally, you'll still get stacks for unhooking so unhooking someone will always be priority if you want to get stacks. My change just makes the perk fit your play style more if you don't like to be altruistic.

But gens are more important. Survivors will just gen rush and get stacks for it while you die on the first hook.
2 minutes is more than enough to finish 3 gens.

I see your point and reasoning but unhooking someone gives a lot of points in the altruism category as well as healing. If you neglect yourself from any altruistic actions then you're not making the most from the 4 stacks since you have no points in the altruism category to be doubled. You're literally missing out on 25% of the BP if you don't do any altruistic actions.

Additionally if the killer doesn't camp the first survivor and finds you all repairing a generator then you're in big trouble. You have 1 survivor on a hook, 1 being chased, while 2 of you have 4 more generators to complete. If the killer hooks the guy that he was chasing then you have no option but to save them or end up losing due to your own mistakes because it gets really worse if you don't. Letting someone die on the hook will always come back to bite you lol.

Ge was just trying to find a refute. Mainly due to the corpses of all the other ones previously posted in this thread.

If survivors can get their stacks doing gens they won't care about rescuing people because most of them won't care if they escape. They'll get a lot of BPs, won't rank up and get to stay at the low ranks; it's a win-win for many survivors.

I already explained why that won’t be the case unless it’s a camper. I’d rather secure my stacks earlier than sit on my ass for 80 seconds. Also.... AT LEAST I COULD GET STACKS IF KILLER IS AFK! How’s that fair? That killer gets plenty of points and all BBQ stacks, while survivors get no stacks, no altruism, and no bold if killer is afk? If it’s wraith or freddy, then it’s REALLY bad

Just change the way the bonus bloodpoints are awarded. WGLF and BBQ award the points after the match. No one left behind, Distressing, ToTH and the new killer addons give the bonus during the match. While it should be after the match.

Survivors just need a new perk that gimps their game while using it, but in return awards more points. Maybe something that reduces the terror radius of the killer for every survivor who uses the perk.
Additionally I would introduce a special item that slows gen repair speed by 50% but gives 100% bonus points for gen repairs.

I like that idea. Using a perk to gain more bloodpoints(survivor side) while auto reducing or eliminating the killers terror radius.

I don’t. Notice he said for everyone one running it, makes it stronger for everyone. Basically one Guy effects the whole team. I don’t want to lose my ears because some turd put in that perk

That doesn’t make sense. If killers couldn’t find survivors, that means their is too many killers, not the other way around.

It needs a buff (no mither) Yeah, DS was meant for that. That’s because it was designed before Patch 1.4.0. That patch re-sized the Survivors hit boxes to be smaller, which allowed for Looping to be more powerful by allowing for hugging objects tighter. No Mither was designed AFTER that patch, with Looping in mind for what it is today.

What you want is for No Mither to be made a viable perk that rewards you for taking the challenge. The reward is supposed to be in beating the challenge and still winning like normal. The challenge is the reward in itself. Though for the new generation, that’s not enough. Have to have more, have to be able to make a build around it to be viable.

Get that through your thick skull. What you want is essentially like picking Dante Must Die mode on Devil May Cry, but you get triple the amount of Green Orb drops from killing demons, as well as get double red orbs to level up faster, double yellow orbs for resurrections if you die.

What’s the damn point of picking hard mode, if they just give you a bunch of free ######### that basically takes the challenge out of even selecting it?

You want buffs on No Mither that counter act the draw backs so basically you aren’t even challenging yourself. Just changing your play style a little.

Not all killers are meant to be viable. Wraith should be unbuffed. Freddy shouldn’t get reworked, Spirits fine

So because Survivors have one perk that is unviable,  that is totally optional to use, you think it’s perfectly fine to make a whole Killer completely unviable too?

That is the dumbest argument you could possibly make. Though it’s funny how completely blind you are to the variation of “viability”. Completely black and white to you. You act like sticking on No Mither means you’re completely useless as a Survivor.

Are you viable as a Survivor with No Mither? Yes, yes you are. Most of all if you pair it with Dead Hard.

Are you viable as Freddy? Yes, yes you are.

The difference is what level of viable you are. Survivor with No Mither? Very viable, can still do a hell of a lot. Freddy? No where near as viable as any other Killer in the roster. Not even close.

Same reason I ######### at Tru3Ta1ent and we get into arguments all the time. He’s so “black and white” about a counter. Either you counter it or you don’t, no middle ground. He refuses to realize there are “Soft Counters” and “Hard counters”. Just like you here, you’re so black and white. You don’t want to see the shades of grey.

It was sarcasm. I’m saying that whatever the devs day is irrevelent. Freddy needs a buff, spirit does, wraith does, no mither does. Many other perks too. You missed the point, you missed it hard

When's the last time you played both? It's far easier to get BP as a killer. Especially since the emblem rework and WGLF nerf. Jeeze I really hate when people are so full of themselves.

Okay kiddo lets calm it down with the insults, "full of themseleves." I play around 80% Killer, granted that is a bias opinion. But before you jump on your high horse, read what I said. Killers, statistically are at a disadvantage, k? Making it easier for one person, aka Killer, to make BP, k? Now, the other part, that you avoided, I mentioned that IF Survivors WORKED together, they would make just as much BP based on a 1v4 system. Now, would you calm those delicate feelz and reply with a constructive counter, instead of picking one line and throwing a toy or two out of the pram because someone disagreed with you?

Ok kiddo. How do you suppose 4 random survivors come up with a plan to work together? That sentence alone tells me you only play killer, be gone... can't be bothered with your biased opinion

"Loop when you're being chased and do gens when you're not" isn't exactly a difficult plan to follow yet it wins games

Still doesn't earn me 30k+ BP for hooking a few surivors. Try again loser.

survivors actually earn more BP over longer sessions as its quicker between games

Survival category is stupid, it needs more ways to get points.

When will you add a "one free kill" button for the killers?

Yes, this is a rant, but a right one.

    Well don’t we feel entitled.

Yeah, entitled to gain the free escape, while the killer wrecked your team, and you deserve to lose.

Rancor is exactly what the killer hatch would be. It’s almost gueenteed, but not quite. Same with normal hatch.

While Rancor is along the same lines, the killer has to use a perk slot for it, whereas the hatch is a built-in mechanic. There's no necessity to grind bloodpoints on a character for a teachable or use shards on the shrine on the off-chance it shows up. The obsession also gains the slight advantage of being able to see your aura and gaining the knowledge of if you're coming for them or not. I see where you're coming from but if Rancor was built into the base of the game and the survivor wasn't given any advantages then I think it would be more comparable.

And if it would allow the killer to instant down and mori any survivor, not only the obsession.

The reason this doesn’t exist is due to how personal it would feel... and survivor kinda needs to be 3x more appealing.

Why are killer queues faster than survivor queues then? Explain that pls

They aren’t. It’s taking forever right now. But nice asspull. Just don’t wave it on my face, it’s smelly

If you actually read everything, you’d know how it’s important as you can spend money on both sides. Why is it hat if I want to level up survivors, I should play killer? If you play both sides, and the goal is leveling up; you’re argument gets thrashed

You need less BP to play the game optimally as a survivor. You can’t “thrash” that argument, because it’s simply a fact of life.

Its also common sense that a killer will score more, they are constantly doing things that increase their score and they have four people to do them to as well while survivors have one.

And I’m saying they should change that. WGLF needs more ways to gain tokens. They should also add more score events for survival, as surviving doesn’t even fill it

While I don't mean to steal your thunder, I also want to suggest a third option:

    1. Remove the bloodpoint bonus from both, make that passive for everyone.
    2. Add an effect to WGLF.

That way the end result is the same (faster progression for everyone), except that way you're not forced into using a specific perk just to level up faster. BBQ and Chili is a perfectly good perk on its own, you don't need extra bloodpoints to make it more desirable. I'd rather have that be a passive increase across the whole game. That way you're free to use another perk if it doesn't fit your playstyle.

I'd rather have a bonus perk slot just for those bp perks.

    And not permanent double BP?

Since I seen a lot of fog travelers who wanted to buff WGLF, I wanted to give my 2 cents on it and hopefully you'll agree!

WHY IS WGLF WEAK COMPARED TO BBQ?

The main reason why WGLF is weak is because the requirement to gain a stack isn't the survivors objective and it's not reliable!

On the other hand, BBQ gives you stacks for rewarding the killer for DOING THEIR OBJECTIVE instead of not going out of your way to do something risky such as let's say "Hooking a survivor in the basement to gain a stack".

So here are my two suggestions on how we can buff WGLF while being balanced:

WGLF: (More Ways to Get Stacks)
Your few friends deserve the best protection. Each time you rescue or take a hit to protect a Survivor, repair a generator, stun the killer with a pallet, gain 20 % stackable bonus to all Bloodpoint gains up to a maximum of 60/80/100 %.The Bonus Bloodpoints are only awarded post-trial.

WGLF: (A Warning if The Killer is Coming)

Your few friends deserve the best protection. Each time you rescue or take a hit to protect a Survivor, gain 25 % stackable bonus to all Bloodpoint gains up to a maximum of 50/75/100 %. When you perform hook rescue, after 3 seconds, receive a notification if the killer is coming to you.

If you actually read everything, you’d know how it’s important as you can spend money on both sides. Why is it hat if I want to level up survivors, I should play killer? If you play both sides, and the goal is leveling up; you’re argument gets thrashed

I get rancor a lot and I don't run any obsession perks as survivor. It also favors me over the others with DS or whatsoever.

I usually just sneak as much as I can and stay out of the killers terror radius or try my best to pay attention to their location.

... I thought a survivor with an obsession perk will always get picked over someone who doesn’t have one? That’s what it used to be at least

Apparently not always. A obsession perk only increases the chance to be the obsession, but it is not a definitive.

Huh. Must increase it by a ton then. I know if a survivor has an obsession perk but killer doesn’t it’s girenteed. So it must be the killer perk that throws it off. Kinda dumb, given rancor is good for countering DS.

    I'm fairly certain that's a bug.

Not really. Otherwise the perk description of survivor perks would actively mention that you are the obsession for sure. It only increases to be the obsession. If the killer has a obsession perk, a survivor with no obsession perks has the possibility to be the obsession.

That's why it says it increases the chance to be the killer's obsession, but it's not guaranteed. The word Increases is the main factor. It is not a 100% chance if other survivors have a obsession perk or if the killer is running one.

My understanding is that if one or more Survivors have Obsession perks, then they and only they will be the Obsession, no matter what perks the Killer has. We should ask the devs about this.

Yeah, I’ve never had it not do that before this update. Maybe it is a bug. Increase is ambiguous. It could increase the chance to 100%

  • There is almost no possibilities. And survivors wouldn’t fear him, they’re in an endless loop, and have died thousands a time.

All perks and Killers should be viable. Im not against "hard mode" perks for survivors like Killers got addons like Padded Jaws and Speed Limiters. However its clear that NM wasnt meant to be one evident by the lack of Reward and the compensation of the broken effect by allowing to get back up. It was meant for an alternative playstyle.

Also, WGLF is not even in the top 5 used perks for survivors. While BBQ is strong #1

You'd think that would be a reason to think why survivors have 5 more broken perks than wgfl analogue that makes you grind faster ;)

It's not in top 5 because top 5 is so stupidly broken and survivors don't need to farm to be viable. They don't need items or addons and they even keep them if they survive -_-

Again, give me a single NEGATIVE effect if tokens were easier to get, and required less farming.

    1) economy problems. Killer and Survivor should be in equilibrium so that it does not become reason to play either side. Both sides should have balanced point gaining way
    2) look what happened when WGLF was 200%
    3) Less insensitive to help teammate. This is what this perk is for, right?
    3 is not enough?

    1) then buff killer gains too hot damn. 2) did I say make it 200% it’d still be 100%, but it’d be consistent like BBQ is if you don’t suck. 3) It just causes farming, and you should know that. 4) three isn't enough if all three are ass

    1) then economy has to be redesigned. I've seen they have position for economy designer on DBD open right now. Want to apply? :D
    2) I can get those stucks consistently, like I said, it's not hard. Want to fix bug with protection not procing when you think it should? then... sure, I'm up for it. bug begone.
    3) It causes me to take hits. Also, they're gonna change it so only safe unhooks will give stacks, so no more sandbagging.
you asked for one, got three and still not happy. Only can say "facepalm"
1 and 2 are objective, and 3 is design. You not liking them does not make them invalid.

    2) A negative effect of buffing WGLF isn’t that it’s already easy to get stacks, that doesn’t make sense. 3) isn’t a negative. 1) The amount of points needed to p3 everyone increases epontentially every new chapter.

2)... then what we argue? OP asked for easier to get stacks.
    3) less incensitive to help -> is negative.
    1) lol, wrong

    2) I’m asking you to give me reason to not buff WGLF (as its buff doesn’t hurt killers). In that case, making it easier for people IS NEVER BAD. 3) There’s plenty incentive as it is. Especially with autodidact and deliverance. Even before it was fine, as not helping can lose a game. The people who don’t help never will anyway. 1) you’re right, it’s not exponential. But it still snowballs. Every perk has 3 levels. 6 new perks are given every chapter. That’s 9 levels for every killer and survivor you’ve already gotten p3 with every former perk. Then there’s a new killer and survivor, which adds to the list of people. With each person costing (after p3 with every prevoius perk) roughly 500k to level up 9 times.

    2) one proposed hurts killer, second hurts economy. Making it easier for people is not bad for people. Might not be as good for game, but I'm not competent enough to answer that part ;) don't have whole info.
    3) perk design is to make incensitive, not to force. It does it's job.
    1) p3 50 takes 200 bloodwebs. Getting all perks at p3 (p3 max) increases progressively for single killer and exponentially for every killer. Getting perks you need for the build does not require getting all perks, since you can choose what perk you want from available options. Usually enough to play competitively. <--- this is not part of the current thread argument though :D

Okay, at this point we broken down to literal philosophy (its based on our moral compass, not logic) so neither of us will win. Let’s just go with “it doesn’t NEED a buff, but it’d be nice, and jack personally wants it

    WHY would you even THINK, that invulnerability for survivors would be a good idea? ;-;

Because being killed by your teammates is probably the least satisfying way to die?

Because solo players shouldn't be thrown under the bus for not playing with friends?

Because getting downed when you haven't even had a chance to press a button is bullshit?

so lets punish the killer. great suggestion. just punish the guy who farmed you! dont reward him, since he A loses A LOT of emblem points, B A LOT of BP (if its not here yet, it will be coming soon) and C also gets screwed, when one of his team insta dies.
so again: WHY WOULD YOZ OUNISH THE KILLER FOR DOING HIS JOB?

How is it that hard to kill the unhooker? Holy hell

It is hard because you are auto aimed towards the survivor being unhooked.

I woudl have no problem if the game compeltely removed the other survivors hitbox while being unhooked.
But right now, my swing is directed towards an invulnerable target, then I have to swipe of the blood and both survivors are gone.

I understand. That message was meant for someone based on principle though. It wasn’t auto aim, they just thought they should tunnel and reward the farmer instead (they even said making them lose 500 was better) even though killing them is.

Also, nice job assuming I’m the worst, and that I’m fine cause I DC to save a flashlight. I want the points to get everyone p3, including killers!

read previous comment. I didn't even assume you bring it in the first place, just pointed that survivors DC to save it, so there is no risk and items can be saved. You want to say it was about you?

Why’d you even mention it? This is about BP (that can and will be spent on killers) not some flashy stick

    BP = more items/addons + perks + prestige.
Killers need addons. Survivors don't and even save it.
less items spent = less BP needed.
I explained it 3 times, you can't seem to grasp it. wonders

BP is shared across both factions. Let’s give you a hypothetical. If I want p3 Dwight. But I’m fine playing either side. Which side is better to play to get points fast? Killer, or survivor? When I’m spending the points on Dwight? It’s killer. Stop assuming I play survivor to spend on survivor. I want everyone p3. And I have one p3 killer and survivor already. And billy don’t need add ons

I play survivor to farm. I have BBQ, but with survivor it's much faster, efficient and relaxing. your point is..?

ps: Billy uses up addons. Survivors can find item+addon in trial and retrieve it.

Survivors don’t make more, not if you’re even somewhat good with killer. I get like 26k a game with billy. Also, I don’t use items for survivor or killer, so that point falls flat on its ass. I said it earlier but you ignored me and repeated yourself like some busted up record.

I'll repeat however many times you need, since you don't get it.
It's easy to get tokens. There are 4 ways, at least. If you can't it's only case of git gud.
If you don't use addons to farm on killer, it's your own choice. You being good enough to do that does not mean that it's actually easy. It's just that YOU are good that you can catch 4 different survivors once. It's objectively easier to get token as survivor than as killer. Are you arguing that or smth?
Or are you arguing with 26k points average? It's just you who's good. If it's someone else they might not be as good. And kiler is taking whole length of the match always. If survivors take whole length of the match, they get nearly same.

If its so easy why is there such a disparity in matchmaking right now? On PS4 (community I Mod is 56k people) 30k reported as playing killer! THATS INSANE! THATS UNREAL! Also, if you’re good enough to get 4 WGLF tokens, it doesn’t mean it’s normal ;)

And DS was MEANT to be get out of jail card. Doesn’t matter what it’s meant to be. If the original concept is messed up, or useless it needs change. You can already make the game harder by bribing no perks. It’s inclusion is stupid. It needs a buff (no mither)

Yeah, DS was meant for that.

That’s not what I want. I want it to be a good perk with a drawback to balance out its big bonuses

Soon as people realize how powerful this perk is, it will likely get called out for nerfs. I'm calling it now.

Remember when on PTR it had 80% boost?

Yup, but 50 is still too high. If you hit at least 1 skill check, you've already halved the time it takes to heal somebody.

Killer already hurts for time as it is in this game, we don't need things shaving even more time off him.

Now, perhaps it will be fine if they implement the universal healing nerf. I'm willing to put up with it till then.

It’s drawback is no self care, and rng. It usually only saves 6 seconds anyway. That’s after it potentially got a teammate killed
