I mean BHVR can say it doesn't rob killers of hits but the evidence is seems clear that it does. The only way to know for sure is to disable it and have it tested.
Definitely worth testing out. There's a couple of things I'd like to see tested, like the effect on matchmaking if there's no lobby just find appropriate players and load directly in.

Are you on Series X? That issue seems gone on that console at least to me.
That was for sure a thing on the OG One and somewhat on the Xbox One X. You need to reset after a few matches. I cant speak for Series S?
Since you know about xbox. You know how when you lose internet it dashboards you and says check network? Or you hit guide and most of the top icons are grey? I've literally turned on the xbox and let it sit there for an hour at a time while im doiing PC stuff watching for it to seemingly have a connection issue. Never once do I see anything go wrong
But lately once I load DBD up. There is like a 30% chance I start to see the packet loss symbol in game. It's really weird. Only today did I actually get dropped from a match. But when I am not technically IN a match it dashboards me. Weird how being in game actually buys a bit of leeway.
Usually I run the network test and sometimes would see very TINY packet loss. Run the test again and see ZERO packet loss and everything would be good to go.
Like ######### does everything always have to be so random and ahrd to pinpoint for.
Yeah I'm in Series X. True it's more stable than it was on my Xbox1x, but I still do the restarting and rarely get the dashboarding nonsense anymore. It is definitely just with DBD though, always has been.
-
May or not be related, as I'm very far from an expert, but I've seen others say the game has a memory leak problem. All I know is for me the longer I would play DBD the worse it would run. So I got I to the habit of restarting my Xbox every 3-4 trials and it would run the game better.
-
I'd say he's prolly the weakest ranged killer at the moment yeah, but not worst overall. Trapper and Freddy etc. still down there imo. He definitely lacks map presence big time, but despite losing some of his zoning he can still do that effectively.

is it just me or hackers is on the rise atm. Encountered 3 times now in span of just 2 days compare to once per month before.
and most of them are P99 or 100 full.
Characteristic is
they know how to normal like a veteran until near end game where they caught and got down, zoom flying away.
So, most of the hackers are kinda long time players, not just newbie one! Kinda wonder, what push them to hack like this
Best thing to do is report them if you record your stuff.

If they kill by letting everyone bleed out? Does that affect their MMR as it would if they hooked everyone?
Yeah, only kills and escapes through the gates change MMR.
The emblems are another story, where hooks and how survs die matter more, just like chases & gens done etc.

Would be nice if a dev would comment on why this is still a thing in the game or at least why it isn't something we can turn off as killers. Although I'm guessing if its turned off then survivor spinning you would be a thing of a past because a lot of the reason you miss with a spin is the aim assist kicking in. if this is the case and we could disable it we would see an increase of complaints from survivor mains as they are getting downed more often than before.
They've said in the past the Aim Dressing doesn't rob a killer of a hit that the server says they registered, just cleans up the animation to look more like a hit. So make of that what you will.
I think it gets confused in tight spots and can absolutely lead to misses, especially if you lunge instead of just swing.
-
I too would like to see a different & more robust MMR system, but how can we complain about the matchmaking while lobby dodging and shipping wreak it anyway?

Killers can play with anonymous mode on to hide their name. I usually due this whenever I play killer, because since OCE is such a small region, if a SWF that doesn't like how I played recognises my name, they will sandbag or troll me if I matchmake as surv and they are in my lobby.
And before anyone claims otherwise, yes this does happen. It happens enough that I have taken measures against it. OCE is so ridiculously small compared to NA/EU servers, I see the same people regularly, albeit its a bit wider now that crossplay exists. And yes, I have literally been told in chat and PSN messages that they chose to bodyblock/troll me because they don't like that I beat them as a killer.
Those of us on Xbox cannot use their Anonymous Mode.

I'm aware that BHVR has comment on this about a year ago, but could we please get more info other than "we want to but we can't"?
I want to play this game, but I started on PS4 and it simply cannot handle the game anymore. I moved to PC and don't have any plans on upgrading to the PS5 right now. The game is legitimately borderline unplayable on PS4, so I just lose my account, I guess. This is a saddening thought, made even more so by the lack of updates or transparency from BHVR.Could we get any more word on cross save, please?
They know this is badly wanted, and it's not entirely in their control.
In one of the surveys a while back asked if we'd be ok with a limited Cross Progression. That is the latest word.

Realistically they have all the pieces to make this a thing. A bot could take over the killer or survivor until the person could reconnect. And then maybe the penalty would only apply if they didn’t rejoin before the match ended.
This I wish was a thing as well. Save tons of frustration, especially with the things we cannot control. Players having iffy Internet is on us, as is manually leaving a trial. But issues with the servers and/or the game's coding acting up, well.....
Sadly I think it's not coming anytime soon.
-
Each time the DC penalty system is off for whatever reason evil things happen. Every time.
Players in both roles proceed to DC at the slightest inconvenience, and games quickly get out of control. Don't like the map? Yeet. Don't like the killer? Yeet. First one found/hooked? Yeet. Head-on'd? Yeet. And the trials become unplayable, bots or no bots.
-
Ah yes, the heal tech.
Since this is certainly tech-hunting season, I imagine this one will be squashed at some point as well.
-
Mercilessly kill the vets, then boopage and a little farming with the obvious newbies.

When the legion first came out, everyone thought it would be a killer that would be disguised as a survivor which is honestly a really cool concept and I think that an interesting idea for a killer would be inspired from the movie “It follows” where the monster shape shifts into different people. I think the killer could shape shift as a survivor on the map and creepily follow one of the survivors to allow the real survivors to tell the killer apart. This would honestly be a really terrifying killer in the game because the player wouldn’t know if they could trust their fellow survivor.
Wouldn't comms completely negate such a power?

Mandy, a DBD representative, confirmed it was a bug three months after the Blight was released. So yes, anyone who abused the bug after that point should be retroactively banned, because they committed a ban-able offence.
The players abusing the bug can call it a "Tech" if they want, but that doesn't magically make it not a bug.
They don't ban for something like this, especially considering how long this bug has been around. That's prolly tens of thousands of players. I most likely accidentally did it and I haven't touched Blight hardly at all.
How would they even enforce this anyway? Unless they streamed it? Most players don't even record their matches.

I've only played as Chucky once and I didn't have a serious build, but he's 110 speed. He feels slow to play as and I play a lot of Deathslinger. I would take Deathslinger ten times out of ten vs. Chucky.
You should try him with a controller. 🤔
Slinger too. Might alter this entire list...

Yeah I was able to interact with its original position. Like it was just an invisible locker that I could open. I don’t remember if it had sound effects though.

You need hooks and hook states on most of not all of the survs to max out Sacrifice. So 4 kills but only with say four or five hooks total then yeah less in that category. Survs killing themselves on hooks doesn't really help the killer for points overall.

So now that Blight's Hug Tech is finally fixed in this upcoming PTB, can we please ban everyone who was abusing it?
You wish to retroactively ban players who used this tech in the past? How could anyone even try to do this?
I took wish various confirmed bugs were dealt with in a more timely fashion than years, but I have to admit in general the devs have been fixing things quicker than in the past. However what you suggest is not the way.

so let me get this straight now dbd came out on PC first before console so the skilled huntress achievement was 20 back then…so why is it that on console you need to get 100 but on PC still 20,that's with the fact that it's hard to aim on console
so anyone plz explain that….
I think the one on PC was originally 100 as well, but was lowered years ago. Since it's almost impossible to change achievements on the consoles (unless they become unattainable they resist any change) it is likely to stay 100.

Yeah but stated by mclean himself (the creator of blight) was fine.
McLean will always have a place in my DBD soul for getting Blight playable on console on his way out. Before his efforts Blight was soooooo bad, with or without the bellybutton pov.

Is the intention for Blight to only be able to bounce off a single spot per rush, only while looking straight ahead? Seems that way to me.

People constantly do it anyways, and those who don't (like myself) are those who are afraid to get falsely flagged by EAC. Because it's 'technically' game file editing, which EAC doesn't like, but it can't tell the difference between file editing done maliciously (for cheats), and just some visual changes on the UI... and cute new icons for perks are NOT worth losing my whole account. 😥
iirc, BHVR said "you can do it, we won't ban you directly, but if EAC catches you and bans you we won't appeal it." (Correct me if I'm wrong about that, please!) It's not worth risking my whole account, no matter how much I want to customize portraits and such.
But I really want to do it, and so do tons of other people! So is there a chance we could ever get this added in properly? Or would this be too difficult?
Yeah the devs don't ban for it, but if EAC does ban that's permanent.
As a consoler I'd like for such things to be part of the game, solving all of this. Maybe a mod workshop integrated somewhere all platforms can use?
-
Wait a minute, the Piggy is throwing the match by slowly doing this. The other survs even if mediocre potatoes will just do gens and all get out. Sucks for that one surv yeah, much like direct tunneling, but a win for the team as they escape.
With the extra 30 seconds on an active trap that Pig is absolutely throwing.
-
I didn't even get this question.

I hope they drop those platforms. They hold us back.
You do know most of the playerbase is on the consoles, something like 70% and globally around half of them are still on the older machines. Can the game afford to lose so many players?
Also this is a live service game, meaning unless those consoles cannot physically run this game any longer at all they have to support them so long as Nintendo and Sony and Microsoft all do. So a year or two more I'd say.

I have never gotten to experience the utter joy of playing on the colecovision but I reckon playing DBD on it would be quite the experience. Probably with about 1 frame / year.
And with that controller… I really don't see anyone topping that. 😂
Might, just might, be able to play surv with this old relic. As far as frames, could it really be worse than what our precious Switch cousins deal with? 🤪😜

Exactly. I am very curious to see how they pull this off without making him absolutely miserable to play. I am actually kinda terrified they are going to ruin blight.
Or give him the previous Billy treatment. No one should want that, not even those survs who already dislike Blight.
His collisions have never been consistent on many of the older maps, or some of the reworked ones over the years. Is ironing most of them out going to damage him? We'll have to see.
-
Everyone is hoping for some kind of 2v8 or the like, seen this request the most by far over the years.
Dunno how it would run on a Switch or the consoles though, they couldn't even get a third zom zom for Nemesis to perform acceptablely....

Providing M&K support would solve any of this, but sadly they've said repeatedly they have no plans to. I can't speak to OP's issue, but I can say the camera movement does feel a little bit unresponsive & clunky with the sticks, even at max sensitivity. It's part of the reason why killers like Singularity in particular, but all of the ranged killers are more limited on console. That said the disparity has much less effect when playing as a surv.

This is the error im receiving. Im now hit with a 60 min penalty
Usually no one gets the DC penalty when the server dies,. But I have rarely gotten a penalty when getting this error message and the trail continued, as in my teammates were still playing when I got tossed. Again super rare for me.
Their DC penalty system does treat any leaving of the match the same, no matter the cause. But yeah I thought the server crashing didn't apply a penalty most of the time.

Why take away things like BBQ giving double bloodpoints when that was a great incentive not to tunnel?
Don't even remind me… :(
I would routinely go out of my way for those stacks, as did many killers back then. By default tunneling was less in most matches. And wayyyyyyy less common early in trials, which is the flavor of tunnels most complained about by far.

As others have said, he's kinda rare so the newbies won't know what he can do nor how to verse him, and those precious few maining Freddy have likely mastered him.

Hello,
I would like to see gens upgrade. Ex: while doing a gen, I would like to see the progress bar to have a percentage so I know where I’m at on the gen.
Also, I would like a better animation while working on a gen.
Thanks.
The approximate progress of the gen is visible on how many of their pistons are moving, and how fast. One piston starts moving when you first start the gen, and goes faster as it is repaired. At 25% the second piston starts, at 50% the third one starts, etc.

The killers already get priority when it comes to ping differences and then we are matched with individuals that are lagging well before the game starts and then expected to have fun and stay?
Why is this a thing? Do they think showing us that the killer is lagging is going to make us accept it and be fine? It's not fun when I get hit WAY further than where the killer is standing.
Part of the problem is not enough dedicated servers globally. We have players in Australia and South America and Asia all not too close to existing servers, and many use VPN's.

I will never condone DCing or nexting against any killer, but with SM I get why it happens so much. The reaction is a lot of leftovers, her bad reputation from prior versions of her yes, but I get it.
The community has rejected SM, plain and simple. And they are entering in their protest quite unmistakenly.
