Just after we fix and ban everyone that's abusing crouch-tech!

Do you see why it will never happen now?

I'm a killer main, what is crouch tech? If it's a bug that people are abusing, then they should be banned for it. Did BHVR confirm it was a bug like they did with "Hug Tech"?

Ain't happening. That's a pretty cruel mind set honestly. It isn't like its murder..

It's many times more cruel that players were abusing bugs and ruining the experience for everyone else.

You wish to retroactively ban players who used this tech in the past? How could anyone even try to do this?

I took wish various confirmed bugs were dealt with in a more timely fashion than years, but I have to admit in general the devs have been fixing things quicker than in the past. However what you suggest is not the way.

Mandy, a DBD representative, confirmed it was a bug three months after the Blight was released. So yes, anyone who abused the bug after that point should be retroactively banned, because they committed a ban-able offence.

The players abusing the bug can call it a "Tech" if they want, but that doesn't magically make it not a bug.

It's an absolute joke. Mangled now does not have a function unless you're playing hit-and-run specifically.

Anyone who gets mangled applied to them is generally put on a hook, and by the time they get unhooked and to a safe place, the status is just gone. There's no "oh it makes them have a hard decision about whether to heal or wait" when the "wait" is like 10 seconds max.

And even if they do wait, what has your "debuff" accomplished? The survivors are more efficient at gens because they do that while they're waiting to heal faster.

Ah yea I forgot about hooked survivors. Mangled will just fall off while they sit on hook. Hopefully this is a joke.

They should consider doubling the duration. Or pausing the timer while they are hooked and in the dying state.

mangled is still 20% healing longer healing. the bonuses for survivor have bigger numbers because their perk are additive while killer perk are multiplicative. multiplicative is stronger then additive because their bonus applies after all additive bonuses. they're only adding a timer to the status effect.

The timer reduces the effectiveness of mangled to 0% because survivors can ignore it to remove it.

  • Why would I use sloppy butcher if survivors can simply ignore it and it will go away?

I will just use more gen regression. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

If the goal was to get people to stop using sloppy butcher, bravo πŸ‘πŸ» you did it πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Perhaps try doing something interesting. Like pick up bandages from the environment to remove it quickly. But only spawn a limited number of bandages so you have to be careful about when to use them. Only spawn bandages if some form of mangled is in play. Does the same thing you want but doesn’t make the perk worthless.

  • Kindred is nearly useless after they released the anti face camping mechanic. It taught killers how to proxy camp outside of kindred's range. I don't see your suggestion doing anything at all.

Additionally, if you are in solo Q and the whole team sees you are being camped due to a basekit kindred. You are probably going to die on first hook.

  • Yea I welcome the window spams. It assures me that 1 out of 4 survivors are doing nothing and lets me know their location. Chances are, if there was a survivor doing a gen near them, they will probably leave the area and look for another gen to work on. Those people probably do not want to do gens and only want to do chases. Which is fine, but they will have to wait until after everyone else is dead and I closed the hatch πŸ€“ then I will chase you all you want and you can use all the remaining pallets to your heart's content. It's my thanks to you for giving me an easy 4 kill.

  • This could be fixed by allowing survivors to see each other's builds in the lobby.

Edit: And the escape menu if you need to refresh your memory

The problem is that heavy regression is almost mandatory for the weaker m1 killers. I personally only run surge on my m1, but I do gen blocking to make up for it. Regardless, I have had a generator get hit by surge 3 times within 30 seconds quite a few times. That's almost half the allotted charges in under a minute! I'm not sure how I'll be able to maintain that for the entirety of the match. 8 is just far too low of a number. What also ridiculous is that the killer is forced with this restriction even in cases where survivors screwed up and 3 genned themselves. They screwed up ultimately leading to a lost match because of their error, but now they get a free pass?

Yea I agree with this. But this is what we get. They didn't ask the community what they thought. They just coded it. And now that it's coded, the chances of it changing are extremely low based on how they handled past iterations.

TBF, in my mind, this solution for three gens was not thought out very well at all. It disproportionately nerfs some perks more than others and disproportionately negatively impacts killers based on their chase potential. I know that many fans and the devs probably don't want to listen to negative feedback, but it is what it is.

As a clear cut example; Ruin. Ruin doesn't remove any gen regression events yet allows you to continue regressing gens as long as you can defend the totem. If you get lucky with spawns, you could create a 3 gen that the survivors cannot break, showing that the original problem was never actually fixed. Because we can still 3 gen, we just have to choose the perks that this upcoming update did not nerf.

Because fixing hug tech is as simple as mashing a keyboard on the forums. It exists because of his underlying code and it's clear they don't want to break him by removing it.

Well we don't know what the actual reason is why they wont fix it. So you and everyone else are just speculating. They didn't answer when everyone asked.

Don't ignore the community. Be transparent.

  • I think 8 is a bit low, but the anti gen-tap is a nice consolation. I think this will force people to stop stacking gen regression perks.

I feel like you could hit 8 gen regression events within the first 2 minutes of a match starting if you use 4 perks that cause those. But killers who rely on those, because they are poorly designed, will get effected the most. Killers that can end chases quickly wont be effected as much. So the weak get weaker and the strong only get a tiny bit weaker. But who knows how this will all play out with the gen tapping change.

  • This sounds like a nice thing to have, I don't think they will add it as part of this update though

"With these changes Save the Best for Last can be hard countered if the obsession has Plot Twist.

It will enable survivors to remove all stacks from a safe location, far from the killer."

All stacks, from a perk that can be used twice a game...

They realize this is possible by bodyblocking the killer carrying a survivor while using No Mither already, right?

would the killer hook you in that case? Sounds like a juicy free kill and lots of value from the perk

  • @VomitMommy said:

It's funny how survivors complain about hold W killers like Knight, or Skull merchant, but also don't like killers where you need to play loops properly instead of just holding W.

I guess a punching bag is only option.

Blight is completely fine except some addons. I consider him quite fun to play against.

I literally don't play survivor anymore because of Blight. He's not fun to play against.

They didn't fix hug tech, who knows why, they wouldn't say anything in the dev stream even though people were spamming the chat. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

  • Blight was why I have not been playing survivor for almost a year now. And the reason is Hug Tech. These changes are welcome, but I'm not sure why they aren't fixing that bug.

  • This is at least a solution to the problem. With this change, there's so many ways survivors can game the perk so you lose stacks. Some of them are going to feel like bugs because you'll look down and suddenly have 0 tokens and you will have no idea why.

  • Lol they banned him.
