I still get exceedingly long Killer queues.
I think it's more likely that people are afraid of being DDoS'd and doxxed rather than not enjoying the game.
I'd be interested to know how much that actually affected the player count.
Whilst on the forums it seems like everyone is furious, I think that the forum users are only representative of a small part of the community. Most people probably don't know what an IP address is, or don't care (and tbh, the actual risks of this issue I'd say are probably low, unless you're a streamer).

Still not sold. paying to send messages/type is not a good enough reason for me. How about agree to disagree.
Actually how about a suggestion? Release limited codes perhaps periodically throughout the day? Seems more fair to me.
BTW not desperate for codes just want things more fair. You know without having to spend money to do it. Consoles players got enough to deal with. Just my opinion though. Sorry it bent you so much.
It's okay, I'm just happy you now agree with me that consoles are not at an advantage, aside from the low barrier of keyboard ownership.
Now where's that cookie.

Thats a great way to blow off some steam, every time I get angry I just get off executioner, get on trapper and trap up shack basement, people dont fear camping trappers like they fear camping bubbas:
Agitation
Iron Grasp
BBQ and Chili
Insidous
Nice build 8/10
I'd replace BBQ with NOED, you only need to hook one person anyway, and the position of the other survivors are irrelevant after you have your first hook, because you aint leaving that hook.
NOED, whilst clunky and questionable on an insta-down Killer, has a 35% chance of increasing survivor post game salt, and often leads to some sneaky M1 kills.

Bruh so let's review. I mention limited codes are unfair to consoles.....You come with plug in a keyboard. Ok so now I have to go buy a keyboard? I play a game on console why would/why should I have to buy a keyboard? All my laptops have built in keyboards so what I need one for? Limited codes only which shouldn't exist anyhow? limited codes for the most part are passed out in the morning/early afternoon so not only is it hard for consoles but impossible most times for 1st shift workers. let me guess your comeback to that is call home and have my wife do the code? Shouldn't HAVE TO. No code should be limited as it cost nothing for BHVR.
Your cookie is getting cold and hard better hurry.
Bruh its 2021 I just assume every house has like 3 spare keyboards kicking around at this point.
I just looked on Amazon and I saw a keyboard as cheap as £6.49.
BTW, might I try and convince you of the sweet benefits of keyboard ownership. As the new owner of a keyboard, you will be amazed as to how fast you can type aggressive and/or patronizing messages to people after they camp/tunnel/teabag you in DBD!
Also it comes in useful if you use apps like Netflix/Youtube, as you can type videos/songs/films/shows in quickly.
Not to mention if you use the console for messaging, at all, you will save a lot of time. If you don't, well now you can.
On the subject of first shift workers, well sure yeah that's the problem with irregular shift work isn't it, you get inconvenienced in many ways. But let's try to keep this discussion to one first world problem, as we already framed this as being a console disadvantage issue.
I disagree with not having codes be limited. These are usually for skin items so it doesn't really impact the game. Having things rare makes them more exciting when they do show up.

90% of my 4 survivors escaping is due to this, body blocking, DS, can't even deal with all that and flashlights and super rush gens. So dead hard if was removed I actually believe even with boons would be very well balanced.
Yeah it's a very nasty perk if used by Survivors who are already good at looping, and if 4 of them are using it (which happens quite often) well there's a good chance you're getting 2 or less hooks by the time they have 1 gen left.

Also on PC I can just do Ctrl-C Crtl-V
that's a fair point, although given consoles have full web browsers I reckon they'll probably have support for copy/paste as well, but I'm not 100% sure tbf

Limited codes ARE a disadvantage to console players. If the game had M&K for console then I'm sure more would go that route.
what you want the console makers to just redesign the controller for this specific issue of typing in DBD codes quickly? To save you just.. plugging in a keyboard?
Who the ######### said that I was implying to not do limited codes.....You seem really bent about this. You need a hug & cookie?
Not really though because as we just established you can just use a M+K if you are that desperate for getting these codes. Takes maybe 10 seconds to plug a USB keyboard into a console.
I didn't say anything about not doing limited codes lol
-
That is what Dead Hard is for, to avoid a hit.
It is harder to wait and bait for Dead Hard now because Survivors can wait until they see you hit on the screen, as the dodge is now validated at the server end, and not at the Killer end (so what the Killer sees on screen is no longer always what happens).

lmao well plz quit complaining because you have a "disadvantage" to PC players who can type in codes faster than you when I've literally just given you a solution which you can't be bothered with
what do you mean "you shouldn't have to". Keyboards are obviously better than controllers for inputting data, what you want the console makers to just redesign the controller for this specific issue of typing in DBD codes quickly? To save you just.. plugging in a keyboard?

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/294804/how-would-you-all-feel-about-a-killer-boon
It's like you don't understand how to play killer.
Killers already complain enough about how they don't have time to cleanse totems or anything. Now you want Killers to waste time hunting down a dull totem, then spend 24 seconds to place a boon for a weak isolated local effect that is inferior to map-wide game-changing effects like Ruin or Devour Hope, and there are four survivors who can easily find a humming glowing blue totem (because Survivors have had tons of practice hunting down Ruin/Undying/Devour Hope).
Now, several years back I suggested that the Killer have an alternate win condition called the "Monstrous Shrine." Basically killer has to collect twigs or voodoo materials or whatever from around the map, then place it in the basement shrine. When completed it will auto-teleport a survivor into the basement hook. Survivors can bust the shrine while it is being built like cleansing a hex totem.
Everyone hated it and crucified me and called me an idiot and said my mother wore army boots yada yada.
And I think my idea was a lot better than yours.
Chill out lol, op didn't necessarily say Killer boons would be as weak as Survivor boons. They could be more powerful given its easier for Survivors to snuff them

I genuinely don't think it's a standard build. If you actually count how often you reload the time savings aren't that great. You'd be much better off bringing an Infantry Belt

The point is that iron maiden now forces bbq to be more powerful , yes to counter flash bang too and inner circle though I dont use inner circle but my point am trying to get on with a combination of corrupt iron maiden and bbq your trying to avoid being to any close gen that ofc the killer will easily go to because they know your not able to do the far ones close to corrupt. On a very small map its even worst its almost no counter play then.
If you see someone go down, you have time to get closer (to be within 40m range) OR even further, to make the trip over to you take a long time (remember, Huntress is slow)
Or you could run one way for 4 seconds and go the other way.
Not to mention you get a massive warning through her humming radius if she does come towards you.
That's at least 3 counters for BBQ, not requiring a locker, which you can use when a Huntress has Iron Maiden.

dummy who likes to be found after someone gets hook, dont insult me for no reason, so you want me to be found after someone get unhook by bbq? I will ask you back the same thing how dense are you
It is irrelevant if you hate being found by BBQ.
Iron Maiden counters lockers so that's why people run it. Just like your flashbang perk counters some things the Killer can do.
You are running your perk because it is useful to you, the Killer also gets to have tools that are useful to them.
Sorry if 1 in 10 Huntresses are running Iron Maiden and are going to counter your build.

-
@LeonxJiwoon said:
Usually I enjoy and respect huntresses but now lately from what I been experiences between their tunneling ways/camping/slugging greed they went to bottom of list + hate for me and I much rather be slug by twins since its kinda what they are made for, this build of corrupt invention/bbq/iron maiden and whatever 4 perk maybe ruin(which i dont care about ruin), so you cant really go in a locker to hide from bbq when someone is unhooked becoming exposed and one hit or waiting on corrupt invention as of most likely they will assume and go to the gens that is close to them and none ofc wanna do that and rather be at a far gen from killer as possible and wait out corrupt
It is awarding them some rather lame and easy kill and this is worst on small maps where the gens are abit distance yet pretty close. The only slight counter to bbq/iron is shadow step but still that is just lame especially when I wish to make my flashbangs. Tbh I rather be face camped instead of facing this very disgusting build
"I'd rather be face camped than face this disgusting build"
So you'd literally rather be denied any chance to play than play against a Killer who is bold enough to use perks that complement each other....!

I wasn't being specific on that part. I meant balancing killers around old Billy and Huntress, two killers the majority of the community agree are A tier killers.
I feel Billy is more like C/B tier these days
-
I mean, if every Killer was A-tier, then you'd just have A-F tier within A tier.
I get what you're saying, Killers should be stronger in general, but if we want to have diverse Killers with diverse powers then there is always going to be tiers.

This is such a funny post, this is one of the bait post isn't it?
I mean if all you have to moan about is the survivor using what little they have to try to evade the killer, which is the aim of the game for there side, then that is a you problem.
Have you ever played survivor? Probably not. Most killers that come on here have never gone into a game with teammates you have no idea how they play, or how good they are. With perks that can be countered with killer addons, and had to try to escape a faster killer chasing them, with a third person view instead of a trusty first person view, whilst trying to find hidden objects. They have just loaded up on perks, spawned into the game and had highlighted gens to head for, then followed red marks leading right to the survivor, who they catch up quickly because of the speed difference.
Please BHVR, make it so everybody has to play equal sides to stop all this nonsense.
Lol did you just say having a first person view is an advantage over 3rd. Absolutely not
-
Disagree with Huntress being so low, I feel she is one of the most balanced Killers to go against and leaves lots of opportunity for jukes and mind games

I tried Bitter Murmur. It's alright but I can't rely on this perk. It works up to 5 times and sometimes you can make sick unexpected shots with it. But problem is gens often pop when I'm extremely busy with chasing, carying survivor or reloading hatchets.
Another good perk is I'm All Ears. This perk is very good but long ass cooldown made me discard this option. It's frustrating when you down survivor while he vaults and this perk reveals aura of a slug. And you have to wait another minute to use it again.
Huntresses often use Iron Maiden for faster reload. But I don't like this perk oh her. Offered time save absolutely not worth a perk slot and expose status effect is not good on 110 killer. Anyway survivors rarely use lockers against Huntress because you never know when she decide to reload.
I don't recomend any M1 perks on Huntress because she more like M2 killer. NOED can compensate some amount of speed but her hatchets are already deadly weapon so One Hit perks also not effective for her in my opinion.
I haven't try Lethal Persuer but I think Whispers and Discordance are better options to find survivors at match start. Whispers also help during the match and extremely helpful to find last survivor.
Yeah I use I'm All Ears. So helpful on certain loops, especially when learning survivor movement.
Perhaps the extra hatchets add-on is also helpful with Bitter Murmur, as it means you are less likely to need a reload when the perk triggers. I just find that perk comes in clutch sometimes, eg when survivors try to stealth near a gen after completing it

nope I feel like I escape almost 50% of the time in solo queue

It could be that Killers who know how to play well are playing less if they don't like Boons etc.

This looks like the build I am using:
Lethal Pursuer, BBQ, Iron Maiden and HEX: Blood Favor.
Since recently Blood Favor now also works on special attacks, and it is surprising how well it works on Huntress. I still wanna try it on Legion or Plague.
I mostly don't use add-ons on killer.
Spies from the Shadows is also surprisingly good. It will give you info you otherwise would NOT have gotten. It is a little unreliable, but the times it works, it works well. Like finding the survs hiding around a gen, cuz they set off a crow.
It never occurred to me to try Blood Favor as Huntress, given she can score hits at a lot of pallets even if they are dropped. But I guess it would really help on some of those short loops the Huntress really struggles on with her slow movement.
@kaeru said:
I can play with any perks on Huntress because I like her power but I get used to one build.
Whispers, Nurse's Calling, Discordance, BBQ
4 detection perks, you can run but you can't hide. I noticed that if I constantly know where survivors are, I don't need any gen slowdown. I don't even waste time on kicking gens as Huntress.
She is my all time favorite killer.
Yeah Whispers is so useful on her. Should try Bitter Murmur, I think it is one of the best perks for getting long range hits the Survivors don't expect, and is sometimes absolutely clutch for useful info

Not blurring names because these guys were super good, they actually made me tryhard to win. They were great players and were super nice after the game. Whatever the opposite of naming and shaming is what I'd like to do with these guys, they were just wonderful, honestly. They messaged me "GG <3" and that made my day.
However, this game was incredibly stressful. Afterwards, I spoke with two of them and they agreed. They had been "sweating their asses off" because I was ending chases so quickly. We decided it was really just a vicious cycle.
Moral of the story is, Killer is absolutely playable. It's just needlessly stressful and it can be very difficult. There's also little consistency. One match is like this with a really good 4-man, the next is versus a bunch of poor Solo Q players. I have no way to tell the difference except based off of memory. So I end up stomping a group of Solo's, who then go play SWF and the cycle continues.
It all comes back to the enormous disparity between Solo Q and SWF.
If it's only "playable" by incurring excessive stress on yourself then that's not really playable in my opinion. It's almost more like a chore at this point.

I just feel this obligation to play because of these limited time things. I want to stop but I just... can't. I don't know why. Am I insane? Stupid? Both?
Neither insane or stupid, the rift is basically doing exactly what it is supposed to, and creating a sense of false urgency in you to play the game.
Food for thought, I think other rift pass content ended up on the store previously. So maybe that stuff you are worried about missing will end up on the store anyway.

It's not the action of the silly character doing the funny bouncing up and down that annoys me, it's the fact you get people playing a rigged game, but then still deriving obvious pleasure from rubbing it in your face that they won. It just triggers me that people like this exist. Go get good at a proper game.

I don't think there's much to look up. Almost no asymmetrical PvP game survived longer than a year. For all its undeniable flaws and problems, DbD has accomplished a phenomenal feat by staying afloat this long.
I just looked and yeah the list is pretty pathetic lol, although Among Us was a popular game on the list which I suppose technically is asymmetric (although that is reduced as players take turns playing both roles. Maybe DBD needs a game mode which has quicker rounds, and everyone in the game takes turns playing each role, as part of a single matchmaking game. Would help the community a bit I think.

Yes because I play both sides, enjoy both sides, but am still willing and able to spot issues and potential improvements which could be made to either side to progress the game towards its best potential state.

Yeah not Ark I meant Evolve like the other guy said.
Yeah it might lead to lots of people playing Bill and David, especially at high MMR.
And yes agree that due to the current perk situation, and people having invested money into skins and "mains", this probably won't happen. I guess this is a "what if..?" discussion.
