If he was standing there physically resetting it, yes that's a thing he can do. As for the desync I know what you mean, had a match where I went to disarm at the gate, a good 5m away from the switch but it vacuumed me to the switch instead of the trap.
-
The stupid part is they don't even need to change the achievement, just what in the game procs "merciless." Like they could say a depip is "entity displeased" still and pipping could be "entity pleased" and change Brutal, Ruthless, and Merciless to number of kills. Like 1 would be Brutal, 2-3 could be Ruthless, and 4k being Merciless. Then they wouldn't have to go through the hassle of changing the achievements through all the systems and I can't imagine it would take much to reevaluate the wording at the tally screen to reflect number of kills over number of pips.
-
Meh, the problem is this is a casual game at it's core. They ######### up with the rank reset giving the illusion it's a super competitive high level game. If everyone reset further the casuals would play with the casuals and the sweaty try hards would play with the other sweaty try hards. And those of us who play both ways can have some more varied matches. As it stands now I have to sweat and sweat and sweat at red rank killer because depipping takes for ######### ever and/or I just get bullied trying to play for fun. At least with Survivor I can stay around purple where match making gives a wider variety of players.

This is the only survivor achievement I'm missing (minus all the adepts for the survivors I don't have). I'm at about 1500 hours now, and I've only ever had 4 chances to get it, all of them failures.
- First attempt: Freddy. He placed his snares in front of both switches.
- Second attempt: Twins. Charlotte camped one gate and Victor camped the other.
- Third attempt: Ghostface: I tried hiding in a locker relatively far from the gate, and he found me in it.
- Fourth attempt: Spirit. She spotted me despite trying my absolute hardest to be stealthy.
I hate this damn achievement.
I've only had one attempt, a gen that was at 50% against a trapper right next to a gate with hatch right next to me on the gen. He came so I bolted for the hatch before he could close it. I was working on the "escape perkless" achievement at the time as well so I opted for hatch escape over death.
This is also the only achievement in the game I don't have.
-
Now that EGC and hatch exist as they do the one I'm having the hardest time with is Left Behind "as the last remaining Survivor finish the last gen and escape through the exit gate"
-
I used to use it a lot, then I was a kindred gamer for a minute, then addicted to Spine Chill but anymore I've built up enough game sense I prefer to use perks that help me with the things I can't fully rely on teammates for. Lately I run BT, Lithe, Inner Strength, and Stake Out and if I have a challenge that needs a specific perk or would be easier with a different perk I lose Stake Out.
-
I kinda agree with the buff being a bit too strong, wouldn't call any of it unnecessary though. My only issue with bubba is even with BT you cannot escape from many unhooks since he hits you in one sweep for the endurance and in the next sweep gets the down. His speed limiter is also BS in the fact that unless you're at a pallet all he needs to do is hit his button one more time and gives you two health states in what is essentially a single use of his power. Imo, he needs his chainsaw built like Plague's red vomit, can hit multiple people but only once per person per charge of the power. Or Plage needs to be able to deal multiple health states with a single charge of her corrupt puke.

Chucky has so much movies but i only love original 3. I can understand why you forgot it because there is so terrible movies about him. But there is adult Andy and i am sure he will also be fit in DbD. He is one of the icon survivors in slasher movie story.
Personally I don't think he'd fit into DBD since, imo, the best part of Child's Play is Brad Dourif's banter and Don Mancini's writing leaning into the humor of the situations whereas, with the recent exception of the Trickster, killers are silent killing machines. They even went with the remake Freddy and not the bantery "#########" slinging Robert Englund version.
But like I said in a previous reply, if they were to add him I'd be okay with it.

Andy was adult on last movie. Before remake ofcourse.
Sorry, Cult was so godawful I forgot it existed. So yes, adult Andy appears as a main character in the direct to streaming 7th movie in the franchise after only being mentioned in passing in films 4 & 5 and only appearing in the post credit scene of film 6.
-
A couple ideas I've had is reduce blades to 6 per health state or make Survivors manually decay laceration. If they don't want to go for "easier downs" that way then reduce the million speed penalties he has: make him move faster while throwing, less time to ready knives or put them down, decrease main event activation animation, decrease main event "stun" when finished, etc. Another super helpful change would be to allow him to hold main event or at least increase the activation window allowing people more than 10 seconds to decide if they should use it or waste it. And if you don't want to do any of that then make him a 115 killer so players have the option of playing him as mostly m1 with the option to use his power to aide in chases or catch people out of position with his power.

Survivors can't be kids.
That's why they chose Steve and Nancy for the Stranger things chapter instead of one of the kids.
Thought I was being obnoxious enough to make the sarcasm of my comment clear. That being said, Andy is a child in 1+2 and still literally a minor in military school in 3 and then takes a tertiary role from that point on. If they found a way to add a child's play chapter then more power to them and the people that would enjoy it but for me personally when I think Child's Play I think comedy horror and in terms of DBD a killer that could be punted into space lol
-
Perfect Chucky idea, Chucky and Tiffany standing on each others shoulders in a trenchcoat, that'd make their combined height around Hag or Blights old POV. Go for the triple whammy and give them a fedora for the Mr. X fanboys. Lean full bore into the ridiculousness of the Child's Play franchise. Hell, why not have 6 year old Andy as the Survivor?

As far as I'm aware the only crossprog is between Stadia and Steam. The next closest crossprog in progress is with switch but that hasn't been finalized yet. After Switch my money is on sometime down the road with Xbox. Don't hold your breath if you're hoping for PlayStation, Sony doesn't really like to play friendly with things like that.
As of now you can't cross progression over from PC to any console though, unless you could Stadia as a console.

Here's the thing for the most part it's true. I listed examples and I'll even give you more examples.
Remember not so long ago people were crying for freddy nerfs and how he was S Tier...? Do you see any of those posts now..? Why...? Because of the "nerf" ? If anyone plays Freddy. They know the nerf did nothing to him. He plays EXACTLY the same. They took away some snares ? Ok you still have 5 and can still spam them at whatever loop you want. At no point would you need 10 snares to end a loop. The speed reduction when setting them is irrelevant...So what changed to end those posts ? They took away slow down add ons and "forever freddy" ok..The slowdown add ons did not add that much time to gen speeds..So was that enough to take him from perceived S-Tier to mid tier (where he always was) ? Or was it people like tofu and otz making their tier list and saying Freddy is mid tier. For people to go "oh alright ! He's mid tier !'
True played like ######### as nurse and blamed SWF. Next thing you know there's an influx of posts about SWF being a problem.
It's to the point that anytime something happens with a popular streamer. The posts here correlate. It's no coincidence
I can give you a simple more accurate reason you don't see "Nerf Freddy" posts anymore. Cause he actually got a nerf so less people play him. Look at Billy, I used to see him quite a bit but now I've played against 2 since his rework. Billy's rework didn't fundamentally change anything with how he plays just makes it slightly harder to feather and curve. It's the same with Fredward, I used to play against a lot of them but I've only played against 2 since the midchapter.
-
If they could make it like it was a little while ago where if the grab is cancelled it causes a hit that'd be great. Now I'm just stuck there with my arm out for a few seconds while the Survivor gets a head start to the nearest loop at full health.
-
In the last level there was "hook the obsession 8 times" with furtive chase and strategic camping I managed to get it done in one match. Only got a 2k but I had fun and got a grindy challenge out of the way ASAP.

Well then show us your ways O high lord.
When playing solo learn when to be selfish and when to be altruistic. That's basically it.
Oh, and run a build that allows you to be self sufficient while still contributing to the team. I run Lithe, Inner Strength, BT, and Stake Out. One helps me get away, one helps me heal (and bonus, encourages me to do bones), one helps me save, and one helps me power through gens or heals as I gain tokens.
Yeah, solo can be frustrating when you're paired with potatoes but if you can identify what role on the team you need to fill that match it can lead to more wins. Just remember it's just a game and try to find fun when your team is essentially throwing.

Will the legendary skins be available on release day?
Most likely, there was a huge dump of skins with Silent Hill, the legendaries took a little while to implement for that chapter but they were a new thing at the time. My money is on BHVR making money and releasing the legendaries when the chapter goes live especially since the next patch has portraits for the legendaries in trial and changes their name in lobby.

I play Queen of the Mire Hag but will occasionally change it up with her for the Plant sets either blue or green, Shiny Silver Ghostface, Krampus or Blighted Trapper, Minotaur Oni, Black Piggy, and Yellow Biohazard bag Nurse. Clown is the only other killer I usually switch it up for, Santa in the Winter, Mr Puddles if I'm feeling memey, and the purple haired creepy ass masked one most of the rest of the time
-
Spirit, I refuse to use Stridor (which messes with me more than it helps anyway) and have issues hearing over ambient sounds and music.
Blight, I play on PC with a controller and he got better with the last patch but he's just too mechanically difficult for me.

After flexing my 2.4k hours (insert cringe emote) maining killer, I can reveal to you the Trickster secrets. I can comfortably say that Trickster suffers from:
- Pubstomper syndrome;
- Legion syndrome.
Regarding 1), he's one of those killers that when going against bad survivors he thrashes them HARD. Keypoint: seemingly harder than stronger characters on paper. That's why he gives the illusion of having potential.
He doesn't have range limitations (unlike Deathslinger) and doesn't have to double tap survivors too precisely. If they take bad pathing, you sort of wind up your knives and spam until they go down, which will happen very fast.
Go against decent survivors, not even optimal, and they'll make you a 110% m1 killer, or pay dearly for landing every knife. Pick your poison. Sure, you can get them stuck in situations where you slowly chip away at their laceration until they inevitably go down. Keyword: slowly. Too much so.
He's very strong in open areas where he can throw over loops. Sure. But guess what happens in open areas... Yep, survivors with eyes can see him and simply run early to a high wall. Gg.
Unironically, his power is very decent for camping. Even more so because you can often build up main event in those situations, instead of it having to go wasted.
But that's it. There's no hidden secret to Trickster. No shaolin-like 5head combo mindgame prediction. If survivors run straight, you go m2+m1 and they fall down. Easy money. If they know to loop high walls and they don't panic, you're facecamping Bubba's cousin. No amount of brain power or skill will change his strength.
Regarding 2), his power design is inherently flawed. So, even small buffs have the potential to butterfly-effect into busted gameplay.
Take, for example, his best add-on combo in melodius murder plus the can, imho. On paper, they don't seem to do much. Yet, throw'em on and even against good survivors you will eat away at their health states, not proportionally, but exponentially faster than the add-on descriptions would imply.
I'd say it should be 'reasonably' safe to buff his main event (he'll become a hell of a camper). Other buffs to his core power are definity riskier with unforeseen consequences.
Lastly, is he viable? Against your casual survivors when killer queues are instant: ######### yea. In the early ranks up to purple? He's a blast. Against boosted red rank Blendettes? Bring'em on! But against confident survivors, maybe at hours when killer queues are a tad longer, few red rank killers who tend to get matched against the better survivors, then no. Don't walk into those trials expecting him to perform like the killer he's not.
My 2 cents.
Your points are exactly why until MMR is in place and each killer has their own matchmaking he is entirely unplayable for me unless I want to depip in the most frustrating way possible. Day one I got his adept without throwing a single knife and that's only because I was on dead dawg and the team I went up against decided to try to go for head on plays and flashlight saves instead of finishing the last gen.
NGL, my post earlier was moreso to call out people that just say "practice" or "get good" as the OP is clearly ranting but also seems to be looking for tips and unless you can provide some decent info and insight like you have or a video or some other explanation of what to try it's completely counter productive.
IMO, he needs two things:
1. A reduction of number if blades to down from 16 to 12, make it 6 per health state and adjust his add-ons as necessary. Or just make the USB drive base kit at 7 blades per health state. Nothing drastic just a slight reduction to ease the time since as we all know killer is essentially just an exercise in time management.
2. Either reduce the startup time for Main Event or give it a longer timer before it expires.
-
Instead of giving up on hook and screwing your team I'd suggest playing as those killers, get good as them. The longer you play them against a wide variety of Survivors you'll be able to see where their weaknesses are.
For example, I couldn't do anything against Hag until I became a Hag main and got experience from how I was being outplayed.
I'm atrocious with Spirit and literally only play her for Dailies and for her Tome but during that time I learned how to be unpredictable when playing against her. How to fake a loop, when and where to hide, when to walk instead of run, and most importantly to stay healthy as much as possible against her.
I do alright as Slinger but he faces part of the same issue Trickster does. If you split up and hammer out gens you'll have the gates open before he can get multiple people on death hook. He really only excels in the 1v1 and many matches even that can be very map dependent. Pallets destroy his 1v1 in many cases unless it's a very unsafe pallet anyway.
-
I have a feeling this is bait but I'm gonna reply anyway.
SWF is a mechanic made so people could play with their friends. Using Discord or any other comms to play is out of BHVRs hands. Most SWF play casually or to BM, the super sweaty squads do exist but they are the minority of swf players and pretty easy to identify though common usernames or the items they're bringing into the trial, usually double beamer toolbox and medkit and are almost always all on the same platform.
Yes SWF is strong and yes comms can give an unfair advantage but banning them or saying they're cheating is one of the most ridiculous things I've heard in regards to this game.
What needs to be done is find a way to give solos more info to bring them closer in line to swf and buff killers as needed to balance the new disparity.
-
@CoalTower said:
Trickster is perfectly viable. Just practice more.
Please then if you have the secret upload some videos so those of us that want him to be viable can get the strategy. Otherwise could you be a little more constructive with your feedback than "practice more" cause I'm perfectly competent with Huntress and Slinger so it's not my aim.
-
The problem with discussions on killers is people don't separate Base Kit from Optimal Builds and scream until they're blue in the face despite talking about two different things.
At base Wraith is meh, he's at least no longer bottom of the barrel but he's no better than Ghostface, Pig, Doc, and other mid tier killers. When you add All Seeing and a silent bell or faster uncloak speed he gets incredibly oppressive.
It's kinda like, to me, base Spirit is a solid killer but not the greatest but when you add strong add-ons and Stridor she is oppressive as #########. And just like Stridor Spirit, All Seeing Wraith is what I encounter arguably 80% of the time I face him.
-
Best ways I can think to change it:
1. Remove fog offerings.
2. Remove the Hatch spawn at main building offering since nobody uses it.
3. Remove low tier luck offerings or just the ones that affect personal luck.
4. Change rarity of some from green to purple, with how many map offerings there are it's actually rarer for a killer to get bloody party streamers than it is to get an Ebony Mori
5. Reduce the amount of useless add-ons for Survivor, take a look at what is rarely run and get rid of them.
Once some of the worthless add-ons and offerings are removed or consolidated they could even reduce the amount of items needed to claim to finish a web and bring the average BP of ~45,000 needed to ~25-30,000 BP.
-
Had a Dwight refuse to heal me after I healed him with all gens done one on hook and the rest of us injured, when he went down almost immediately trying to get the rescue and the other person got slugged I just opened the gate and left because I was still injured and on death hook. In the post game he was so salty and bitter about it I just told him, "if you had returned the heal I would have helped rescue but I'm on death hook and injured, what do you want me to do?" His swf buddy said I could have helped but the other random who was the one slugged sided with me and said it was smarter of me to leave then feed the killer a 4k given my circumstances.
-
Playing a little devil's advocate here but at 25 killers in there's not much in terms of original ideas that can be well implemented. Look at how buggy and jank the twins released and still are or how mechanically difficult Blight is or how bugged the Nurse still is. In my opinion this chapter is more for the Survivors and the newcomers. @PixelBush put out a great video about it and I agree 100% with his sentiments. I think I'll have a little bit of fun with Nemesis, kinda like how I have a little fun with Pyramid Head, they're not gonna be mains for me ever but I'll enjoy playing them occasionally.

The difference is this. Yes those survivor ones could be hard, but can be easily done as SWF.
- Its really easy as a SWF to do 4 generators. Also it was finish 4 generators not do a total of 4 generators
- I play quite a bit of trapper, I didn't have a problem with any of the trapper ones.
- And there wasn't a challenge that was get 6 pallet stuns... It was get 6 stuns. Which is easy with head on and pallets.
Yes all of these were hard, but something you could realistically get done within a few matches and most of them could be in your control. I will admit, the finish 4 generators one is a lot harder as a solo then it is as a SWF. But you can hit up the discord for SWF friends and know out most of those survivors ones fairly easily.

So spend 7 million to perk out plague to do one challenge. I have Brutal, Dark, Infictions, mindbreaker, predator, spies, whispers, agitation, dying light, furtive chase, devour, noed, make your choice, monstrous shrine, Pop, rancor, BBQ, corrupt, distressing, hang mans trick, insidious, knockout, play with your food.
I got this one by cheesing it. Put on an apple and iridescent seal, get a down and then hook someone near a corrupted fountain, grab the corrupt purge and camp. Do this with every hook since as gens get completed you'll gain corruption. You can also try to get more pools by making sure the person on hook is infected since once they realize every time they finish a gen they're vulnerable to ranged attacks they usually cleanse more often.

And the plus includes Demisexual, pansexual, nonbinary, gender queer, and other lesser know gender and sexual identities.

Players like this are the ones that are inadvertently "killing" the game. They're the ones that drive players away from killer further jacking up Survivor queue times. They're the kind that would come on here or Twitter and scream until they're blue in the face to get something nerfed or changed. In post game chat they get a "gg" or a "too bad" from me before I move on if I even say anything back to them at all.
Ironically they're the same kind of people that will call other Survivors garbage for not doing what they want. I had a match where all 4 were alive, gates powered, one on first hook and the other three injured. I healed one and instead of healing me back he ran off to the hook so me being on death hook ran to the gate, opened it and left when the killer slugged the rest of my team. In post game I was called trash, garbage, dogshit, and all kinds of other names. Replied "if you had returned the heal I would have helped save but being injured on death hook and solo queue I'm gonna secure my escape, gg" and left.

The issue seems to be people thinking it will be an issue and it not actually being the case, and then making threads like this acting like minorities haven't been targetted for smaller things.
Heres the thing, people absolutely will be targetted because of the charm, there is no doubt about that, but it will be a small amount and there will never be any way to tell unless the killer admits it, people already have LGBT things on their steam profiles and aren't suddenly using it as a reason they were tunneled so I don't see why a charm would suddenly make that happen
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JIFHT7V4O7G2/chrome-27-05-1622101692.png
But don't think for a second people aren't targetted for these things.
Exactly, the biggest issue is those thinking it will be an issue.
I'm gay myself and for the longest time my steam name was Hex: Butt Stuff and the bulk of matches nobody said anything and if they did it was either joke flirting or on a whole two occasions in the 8+ months I was going by it "your name is gross and you should change it."
-
1st, you can barely see the charm on Survivors so even if someone tries to say you camped/tunneled/slugged/sandbagged because of it there is plausible deniability.
2nd, if someone is claiming those things in post game chat you have the option to not engage by leaving making any report or argument on their side null as there would be no evidence to support their claim.
3rd, played with it on for a few games tonight (didn't play much because ngl I'm a little burnt out after finishing level 2 of the tome) and not a one person mentioned me wearing it on Survivors or having it on my hooks as killer.

I am also trying to get them to see that. I was simply saying that you can make up the lost points in an hour or so if you play killer, maybe a bit more as a survivor. Maybe instead of white knighting, you can also offer constructive ways to BP farm, if you missed a gift opportunity.... which was a gift...
In any case, have fun in your future endeavors in dbd, see you in the fog. You can have your hill back.
Awww, thanks for my hill back. Appreciate it boo

If you think you only get 96k by slugging, then you are crazy. even if you get 90k, thats 270 after 3 games... and I would venture to say I average 30k on killer. 32k is all about managing hook states and farming bps, you dont have to slug or kick any gens.
Why is this the hill you're choosing to die on? How is people complaining on a public forum about an arguably short time period to enter these hurting you? All anybody here is doing is bringing up grievances so hopefully someone at BHVR will see it and hopefully in the future realize people have jobs, classes, and other commitments that prevent them from being able to jump on the game at a moment's notice to claim rewards for a game they love.

This person lol. Most I can make in a match, unless multiple people bring BPS or Cakes is 96,000 using BBQ and Survivor Pudding, 12 hooking, and plenty of slugging and gen kicking while also using my power and M1 attacks numerous times.... The average for me in a killer match with BBQ and Survivor Pudding is around 70,000, and the shards that came with the code is 3-7 levels so depending on player level 5-15 games lol ...

Well, maybe. I don't think it really does that any more.
I move around rank 11-12 and my wife is usually 8-9. We have been getting rank 1-5 killers regularly the last week. We can tell almost right away when it's a 'good' killer. I almost feel like it would be easier to not know the killers' ranks after the match. Knowing I went up against a rank 1 is a little discouraging, in a way. Maybe we're playing during peak hours like you mentioned..
I haven't played much killer except to get some dailies done or get some quick blood points when my wife isn't playing, so I haven't ranked up as killer but I don't think I'm getting dramatically higher ranked survivors.
Being mid ranks you'll still wind up against high rank killers because there are so much fewer killers than survivors playing so MM prioritizes time over rank.
On the inverse, when I was coming up in killer ranks back in late 2019 there were more killer players so killer queue times were very long and as a rank 9 killer I was paired with solid red rank teams.
The two things that affect the disparity in ranks nowadays are swf and number of players. Since I don't work in Mondays, when I play during the day survivor queues are short and MM seems balanced but if I'm playing at peak hours in the evening/night I'm waiting 10-20 minutes for a survivor match and it's a rainbow while killer times are instant and either balanced 100% with my rank (or a swf that's close but has a lower rank or two) or a cluster of mid to high rank survivors.
The only time I seem to play against or with rank 20-16 is when they're paired up in a swf with high rank friends.
-
Descend Beyond: Blight was and still kinda does have a mechanically off-putting power to me, his concept feels like a letdown for a killer that was teased in lore and events for so long, no map, and immediately followed up by one of the worst "events" in the games history.
Felix saved that chapter a little for me but that's just cause I'm a simple man that finds his design and look very
hoter... pleasant to look at... -
Leon is gonna be my new main and if they have his RE4 cosmetic on release that's all I'm gonna wear. Also, not gonna lie, I low-key have a crush on Leon, goofy haircut and all <3
What would make me most excited for Jill is an Ada Wong cosmetic.
Nemesis seems like he'll be fun, kinda like Pyramid Head, not crazy strong but not weak like Depipster or off-puttingly (at least to me) mechanically challenging like Blight.

Which I was for the most part, I could only catch the stream and had 2 updates that needed to go through on my steam account so I was only able to use it once on my switch and not again on my steam account (bummer).
Yeah, something like that should be 48-72 hours not just over 24 (if they were even still active earlier this afternoon)

Does anyone know when those codes expire?
Just went to enter them and they're already expired, which is some major bs

Yes but you run the risk of turning away new players. As MM is now rank 20s are more often paired with other rank 20s unless they queue up with higher rank SWF or are playing killer during the worst peak hours that MM prioritizes time over rank so badly that 16s are up against 2s.

Now they've gotta change the Minotaur's club from a Kanabō to something more Grecian/primative and give the Krampus some festive traps

My first though was "I ######### called it for survivors!" My second was, "it'll be interesting to see how Nemesis is adjusted to fit in"

The one that took me the longest just throwing games tonight was 15 unhooks or protection hits.
Advice for blood debt, get hooked then as soon as you see the person who unhooked you gets injured find them and rush the save with BT. Probably take a couple matches, I did it in two but that's just because I got lucky and the Kate that saved me my second game was a competent player and I hid after the gens were done until she got hooked again so I could rush in for the save and take aggro while she finished her gate and got out.

I disagree tbh. I'm the first one to say his add ons are strong. But his add ons are the perfect example of how add ons SHOULD BE. How many killers have useless add ons that do nothing for their power ? It's too many. Wraiths add ons have everything to do with his powers.
Mostly it's just all seeing that bothers me. For a purple addon it's broken, like playing against a scratched mirror Meyers that has permanent Coup and moves at 150% with a minimal slowdown just before a hit.

Wraith definitely needed the buffs but I feel now he needs an add-on pass. With his speed and invisibility All Seeing is now pretty much completely uncounterable and some of his other add-ons give a little too much power. Base Wraith with no add-ons isn't that bad to me but when you give him the insane speed and almost true invisibility plus add-ons that make him uncloak incredibly fast or able to see people through walls he becomes a little too oppressive.
