I'm gonna say Nurse, with how many dead zones there are in the reworked and new maps for her blinks and her base movement being slower than survivors she's the more difficult killer to me for getting kills.
Blight being a 115 killer I can use his power for mobility and when survivors are out of position but I'm competent enough as an M1 killer I have no problems mind gaming, in fact it's easier because survivors will assume I'm gonna use his power and end up mind gaming themselves half the time.
As far as actually learning their powers I feel they're fairly even in difficulty but Blight is easier to be more consistent since he's not built with a ball and chain around his leg like Nurse is. Yeah there's a lot of surfaces he slides off of but you and just hold W to end chase instead of being punished hard for missing a rush.

The point I'm making is there are a bunch of killer mains complaining about someone taking a protection hit with Borrowed Time, when the point of ithe perk is to combat proxy camping. Which is why you are even having to hit the person with the status affect in the first place...
If I walk away and can't find anyone I'm going back towards the hook because that's where they're also headed. If BBQ doesn't show anyone then it's safe to assume that they're near the hook so I know to search the area near it and there's no reason to leave. If I'm in a chase and the survivor leads me back to the hook I'll be there and am not camping. If I hook and am breaking pallets and kicking gens near the hook I'll be close to it and not camping , just doing things that make chases later for me easier/slowing down survivor objective, not my fault the team decided to swarm the hook while I was still in the area. Want me to give more examples of reasons the killer would be near the hook?
The point of BT is in its name, to give Borrowed Time, it's a bandaid that isn't necessarily going to save you. BT is best used as insurance for those that choose to tunnel or for end game saves when the killer will be more desperate for that last kill. If you are using BT to take a protection hit then you are in fact placing yourself in a position to be tunneled and have no excuse to complain about it because you willingly got back into chase despite the killer trying to ignore you for your rescuer.
IMO, the point of this thread is that if you force a PROTECTION hit from BT you are not being tunneled, you are willingly placing yourself back into chase and the consequences that come with that.

Posts like this make me want to create a Smurf account just to see what the state of the game is like for brown and yellow ranks on both sides. I started almost exactly two years ago in August of 2019 and the game has changed massively since then.
When I was coming up as survivor I played in a swf so I was never paired with low rank killers. As a killer I had mixed matches until green rank where it became rainbows or solid red swfs I was facing and took a very long time to break through to purple and get the game sense I needed to improve more.
I have spent almost a year and a half now at red ranks thanks to the reset changes and have been so removed from low ranks that it's impossible to fathom what it's like to play there now and any speculation or conjecture about the new players experience is worthless without experiencing it myself.
-
They exist because the community wanted him to be more viable due to his lack of map pressure and many people associate mobility with map pressure so they exist to give him "mobility" without actually changing anything major from his basekit outside of reload speed. When I play clown I never touch the yellow bottles.
-
My go to for Doc is Iron Maiden, BBQ, Pop, and Whispers with Calm and Restraint add-ons. This prevents people from being able to hide at all from my power. Calm increases TR when the AOE blast is ready to be used so you don't need to run Distressing or anything like that, Restraint shows the illusions to you so anyone with any level of madness can be spotted, Whispers lets me know when I need to use my AOE blast, Iron Maiden will make people afraid to hide from the blast because they'll be exposed and alert me to their position anyway, BBQ for more tracking, and Pop because it's imo the stronger regression perk since Ruin can be destroyed.
Using his power at loops takes practice and sometimes with pallets it's best if you can position yourself in a spot to prevent the vault instead of tying to prevent the pallet throw since many people pre drop pallets against him. Timing is everything with the shocks and just spamming them slows you down and prevents bloodlust so it's best to shock when needed instead of all the time.

When I start feeling like that I take a break, when the anniversary hit I was a bit disenchanted and wasn't feeling it due to either burn out or facing Nemesis 100 games in a row and killer queues being long af due to the massive influx of RE fans playing killer, so I picked up Horizon Zero Dawn on the steam sale and spent most of my gaming time playing that. Single player games give me a good break from DBD for a bit until I feel like getting back into it. Usually that break has to happen around rank reset or towards the end of the rift for me because I'm just bored/exhausted by DBD or it's community. Thankfully they extended the event so I was able to get the crowns on the rest of my killers and dump BP into survivors to get more cakes for later.

I agree with with what you're saying. Two things I would do. The trap colors on different maps like you suggested. And I would have him start with all of his traps on him personally. Just like Hag has all of her traps on her already. Or Seals w/e you know what I mean.
I think all of his traps at once would be too oppressive, you could slap on Iri Stone and the best setting speed and lock down half the map by the time the first two gens are done. Imo, his brown bag needs to be basekit and change the brown to the yellow, yellow to the purple, and purple to start with 3 in hand able to carry 4 or something like that.
Think of Hag's as magic power and the number of traps as her mana pool to maintain active traps. As traps are triggered her pool replenishes. Like Freddy's pallets and snares or Demo's portals.
-
He needs some QoL changes. If you think about it Ghostface is similar to Trapper in that he's an M1 killer that gets the best use of his power by out positioning survivors. Ghostface is alright he just needs some consistency with his reveal mechanic. Trapper isn't in as awful of a spot as many people like to claim, he just needs his RNG fixed and to make using his power more efficient. I agree with some of the above ideas but the Stone add-ons should stay as they are, death state on escaping is incredibly useful but niche and Iri Stone is one of the only good Iri add-ons in the game that isn't absolutely insanely strong.
I would also add that traps should tint with the color of the map, there's no reason they should appear the color they do on all maps, right now they blend well with Coldwind and okay with Dead Dawg but stand out against the slight blue, green, and purple tints of Macmillan, Autohaven, and Yamaoka/Badham respectively.

Iron Will in general wouldn't be a problem if it didn't also remove breathing noise and sometimes footsteps. With how bugged sounds get IW can be stupidly strong.

I doubt the next chapter is licenced again. As far as i know they said they only add one licence per year and we already got a licenced chapter this year.
Maybe for Year 6.
If I remember right the road map implied there would be two licensed chapters this cycle so RE and another. They had Leatherface, Freddy, and Pig all released back to back. Then a string of OCs followed by Ash, Ghostface, and Demo all back to back in 2019.
With how bugged a lot of the killers that have been released recently have been I wonder if Candyman was supposed to come when the Twins did but because the movie kept getting pushed back they had to adjust their cycle and put a rush on Twins and Trickster to compensate. Many of the bigger licenses have been timed with releases of the other media they come from: RE Village a couple months before the chapter, Jigsaw in October of 2017 and the Saw chapter in January 2018, Stranger Things Season 3 in July 2019 and the Chapter released September 2019.

Nothing against Lightborn, but it's takes positioning and timing to get the save. Upon that, the killer can easily bait out the flashlight user by pretending to pick up or just use a wall to make the save impossible.
Again, I'm fine with Lightborn, but flashlights are fine.
I don't have a problem with flashlights or their counters, what annoys me most is pallet blinds. Because of my eye problems that sudden bright light is physically painful so I bring Lightborn to not have to deal with it. I like to think of it like a perk to prevent/deter annoying things survivors do, like Starstruck, Mad Grit, Iron Grasp, Agitation, and STBFL against body blocking hooks.

Well thank you for info but i really never watched him movies, i learned him because of this forum. Should i give chance him movies?
The first movie is great and the second is decent, we pretend the third never happened. from what I understand the new movie is like what they're doing with the new Halloween trilogy, a sequel to the original and ignoring the other movies that came before it. The man that plays Candyman, Tony Todd, is a horror icon and has made appearances in numerous movies and shows that are horror related.
As for power he could be teleporting, possessing survivors, using swarms of bees as a semi ranged killer, or even stealth.
-
You're the third thread I've seen complaining about this, I made one myself the week he was released. It's utter BS that he requires 4 games to finish his daily, the only other dailies that are this annoying are "Open the gate with X survivor" and "Unhook X number of survivors with X survivor" because it's never one I have good perks for, usually Laurie Claud, Steve, or Ace.

How can an ancient greek minotaur be canon to japanese demon?
They didn't even change his club! Like a Minotaur wouldn't be running people down with a Kanabō, he'd be using a stone club or tree branch or something like that no a samurai's war club.

Hey all sorry if this is in the wrong spot but here is my idea for the Doc.....
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/QCQ1BMDV93YH/screenshot-20210712-004823-chrome.jpg
I just started playing last week and I don't have many killers yet but this is my idea and didn't know if anyone tried this combo yet
If you have the perks my go to Doc build is Iron Maiden, Whispers, Pop, and BBQ with Calm and Restraint add-ons. Basically no hiding from my Doc unless they're running Calm Spirit, and even then Whispers and BBQ will give em away. Pop is my go to regression perk but on killers without mobility in their power I feel Surge could actually be more useful for me.
-
I main Ghostface, Doctor, Hag, and Trapper and am competent with almost every other killer in the game with some difficulty using ranged killers and Nurse due to playing with a controller instead of M+KB and their slower movement speeds. If you can get good as any M1 killer you have over half the roster available to you.

I read through all of these replies and honestly none of them seem like good answers. You can specifically turn comments off and make just your friends list private so you can hide your SWF. There would be no reason to turn your entire profile private. I'm actually curious as to why people do it too because it seems like you're distancing yourself from the community when you turn it on private.
I'm assuming it's just because people want privacy and not show off their games.
It's easier on steam to click a button to turn your profile private than it is to go into your privacy settings and pick and choose what you want people to see/ access. Me personally, I had mine private for a while cause it's literally like two clicks, but after I started playing around with my page and adding showcases and whatnot I decided to figure out how to change it so people just can't comment or see my friends list unless we're friends.
-
Get the first down and use their altruism to your advantage. I've turned a 0k all gens done into a 3k against teams like that because they refuse to let one person die. Drop unhook grabs and slug as much as you can in those cases.
-
Cause the skill disparity is so jacked with this game due to what I consider the huge mistake of not pushing people back further at rank reset and matchmaking still using ranks to match players. You have these sweaty matches that are 100% guaranteed victory for the survivors unless they start to make mistakes or you have to resort to the "scummiest" of tactics.
-
They're garbage offerings that choke up bloodwebs unless you have a basement challenge or want to play basement Demi, Trapper, or Hag.
-
I bounce around a bit but I keep coming back to the same four: Trapper, Hag, Ghostface, and Doctor. Been on a heavy Doctor kick lately though.
-
None need nerfs, some need QoL adjustments or minor tweaks. Let's go down the list:
Trapper: needs a "buff" in that at least brown bag should be basekit.
Wraith: needs some particular add-ons *cough* all seeing *cough* adjusted.
Billy: needs some bug fixes
Nurse: bug fixes as well
Huntress: pretty good spot now that iridescent belt is gone, maybe adjust the hotboxes of her hatchets
Hag: introduce a more reliable counterplay that doesn't completely destroy her power like flashlights do. I do like the suggestion I read recently about disabling traps near hooks after a rescue for a period of time.
Doctor: good spot atm
Clown: alright spot, needs some tweaks to make his yellow bottles have more of a purpose.
Spirit: just needs a tell that she's phasing so she has more reliable counter play.
Plague: I dunno where to begin, she's not in a great spot to play as since she feels so clunky but isn't anything crazy to play against.
Legion: in an alright spot
Pig: needs something to make her tunneling survivors with traps less appealing otherwise no nerfs needed since the rest of her kit is fairly weak.
Meyers: same spot as plague, feels clunky and off but not bad to play against.
Bubba: chainsaw should act like plague red vomit and not be able to double hit survivors so BT plays can actually work against him and speed limiter is actually a hindrance instead of an instadown with extra steps.
Ghostface: reveal mechanic needs fixed, can be revealed from behind a wall sometimes but can be taking up 50% of a Survivors screen and not be revealed is obnoxious.
Freddy: hate playing against him in general but now that "forever Freddy" massive slowdown nonsense is gone and BT works against him he's alright.
Oni: good spot even though infectious is obnoxious on him.
Demo: can't really say, last time I played him he felt super clunky and off but that was before the recent changes.
Slinger: pretty good spot, maybe add a very short delay between lowering the rifle before an attack can be made to prevent quick ads zoning.
Pyramid Head: good spot, feels a little clunky to play as but I think that boils down to sound design for me.
Twins: can't say, haven't played them since their recent nerfs.
Blight: pretty good spot, hardly play against them but even if I get clapped chases are usually still fun.
Trickster: needs some buffs to make using his power feel useful.
Nemesis: needs to remove speed boost on contaminating hits and increase hindrance time on that first hit, otherwise he's in a pretty good spot.
Keep in mind these are my opinions playing both as and against these killers in the 1,300 hours I have put into the game split between both roles for the last two years.
-
On top of all the counterplay people have put on here as a part time Hag main (been getting back into Doc heavily lately) I'll give my two cents for possible QoL changes/nerfs if you will. The best suggestion I've seen to "nerf" her is to make it so her traps within a certain radius of hooks deactive for a period after an unhook happens. Makes survivors question if they should rush the unhook or take some time and unhook safer but be able to actually get away.
Honestly, if survivors would stop rushing unhooks against her it would solve 99% of the problems people have with her and I'd be cool with making it so the survivor can get away after an unhook without being immediately tunneled.

You can fail the adept if you had less than 71 points in Gatekeeper. You get 28 points for completing the match without an open gate, but that isn't always enough to tip Gatekeeper into iridescent if the game was just over too fast. Pretty possible if you lose the first two gens immediately or get Prove Thyself/Brand New Partsed at the start, because you get points per second per gen remaining and holding the last gen for a long time provides surprisingly few points to make up for the early loss.
That's what I was wondering with them, if they didn't keep survivors off of gens early and lost a bunch. It's per minute now for the first 9 minutes of the match you get points for each gen not completed. Having the gates closed only barely guarantees you a gold emblem.
-
I buy linked sets if they look good and they're for a character I play. I don't often mix and match, the only one I've done is make my Nea look like a punk/street walker with the hooker boots and red skirt, the grey pixie cut head, and the leather jacket; otherwise I only use full sets because most of the mixing and matching looks like hot garbage to me.
-
So far I've heard July 1st is when the event starts. The grind sucks so much right now though
-
I ran Lightborn against it one game and didn't realize it stuns as well as blinds. Kinda obnoxious honestly.
-
Try learning a killer you suck with. You'll lose a lot of matches but get a little better with them as you go and by the time you start safety pipping or ranking up you'll most likely be down a few ranks.
Or just be a not fun player and run wraith and stand afk in a corner so you can't be found or initiate chases or interact at all with the survivors.
Personally I'd recommend option one since it allows you to grow as a player and doesn't necessarily bring down the survivor teams you're paired with too since all they can actually do is objective and light bringer emblem.
-
I've noticed queue times seem pretty sporadic but I'm attributing that to new chapter, had survivor times super fast and slow in the same night. Lots of people probably aiming for that adept Nemesis or swapping back and forth. I know I got my two survivor adepts and have switched over to killer and am playing everything but Nemesis for now since I've faced probably 15 of them already

You should try Pop, BBQ, STBFL and Whispers. Once you get 8 stacks, shock and whack. If you're fast, you can get a grab after the whack XD
That's similar to my regular m1 killer build I run on Trapper, Ghostie, Pig, and Legion. Just swap whispers for Brutal lol
Since I P3'd him though I haven't gotten STBFL yet, I'm running low on add-ons though so during the anniversary after I get Nemesis' perks unlocked I'm gonna be spending BP in Doc and Nea to reup their add-ons and items.

OMG! Why have I not thought about running this on my Doc too?! You, my friend have enlightened me in to a new path of murd- errr I mean, therapy. Yes, that's it therapy! I now have a new method of treatment for my vic- patients.
I like to play "you can't hide from me" Doc using BBQ, Iron Maiden, Whispers, and for a regression perk Pop, with Calm and Restraint add-ons. Whispers and Restraint kinda counter Calm Spirit but are good for general tracking since Restraint shows you the doctor illusions longer and at lower madbess. Then the Calm makes your TR larger when the blast is ready to find even more people. Iron Maiden makes them super hesitant to hide from the electricity because even if I can't get to them while they're still exposed I know where they are, it's kinda gimmicky and there's probably much better perks to run but I find it fun.

I have the Krampus and Minotaur skins, they're both pretty fantastic. My favorite Doc skin is the Hallowed Blight skin, just looks so brutal and disturbing, downside is it's bright so you can't really play stealth doc with it but if you're like me and play anti stealth chaser Doc or impossible skill check Doc it doesn't really matter lol.

Not even a close comparison. Slugging for the 4K is just being sweaty. The equivalent to tbagging at the exit gate is smacking a survivor on the hook.
Yes and no, hitting on hook is BM but it doesn't hold someone in a game for any period of time. I also said it feels like, not that it is. Yeah, it is sweaty as ######### though, I will also give you that.
-
The only killer I use Franklin's on is Hag for the clicky clicky sticks so this isn't too big of an impact to me but it definitely sucks they've nerfed a perfectly fine perk.
-
I surprisingly got it on my first actual attempt. Almost failed it though cause they had all the gens done by the time I popped tier 3. Ended up killing one then lunging and downing the others so I could pick them up carry them away from the gate and let them wiggle off so I could kill them one by one.
-
I used to ######### about it a lot on here but when they only answered half of my question about it during a dev stream when they didn't remove the higher pick rate of it for 3 damn months I resigned to defeat that they won't remove all the stupid pointless and miserable "variants" of it.
-
Yes, and some changes for animations.
For example Minotaur Oni still uses a Kanabō instead of something more Grecian.
With the RE chapter including legendaries and Chris and Claire sounding vastly different than Leon and Jill it would be another welcome addition to the price tag.
-
Right now I'd have to say Flesh and Mud cause I'm a Hag main and it introduced Hexes but that came out before I started playing so changing that criteria to since I started playing I'd have to say I'd have to say Cursed Legacy cause Oni is fun to play, Yui is a boss #########, and it was the last chapter to actually expand a realm instead of clogging up the bloodwebs with more ######### map offerings.
Ask me again in a week though cause I'm pretty sure I'm about to be a Leon Main and I love what I played on the RCPD map.

So you are the guy that gets 1 minute into corrupt and has done little more than cleanse a totem and open a chest?
Nah, if I see there's corrupt I cleanse a totem for my Inner Strength and by then the person that spawned next to me and went running is already injured so I know the killer is in a chase and will go find a gen that isn't blocked and start hammering objective while my "teammates" hook farm and trade hooks over and over again. At least that's how a lot of my solo games go. Who knows, if Nemesis' new perk becomes meta I'll get reckless too and throw all caution to the wind cause the killer already knows where I spawned.
-
For me it's the people that run and leave scratch marks upon immediately spawning drawing the killers attention then going down 10 seconds after the chase has begun within the first minute of the match....

They do have the advantage of stretched res, which we can't use.
Stretched res looks like dog ######### and the only people that use is are sweaty esports wannabes that will use anything at their disposal to cheat within the parameters of the game.
I've also seen brightness thrown around and I'll give you a simple fix for brightness on console, turn up your TV brightness and adjust the color and saturation settings. Every modern monitor/television has color and brightness settings built into them that can be adjusted.
-
Since half of his add-ons are worthless because you need to run a bag and highly benefit from darkening them on most maps, I suggest the traps tint the color of the realm at base and the tar bottle and dye color them closer and closer to the color of the grass or ground, brown bag at least basekit, reassess trap spawn locations so they aren't out in the corners or up on high structures, and continue to tweak the escape chances.
-
The grind is pretty awful and the main thing preventing me from recommending the game to friends. If they would just reduce the cost by 1000 per item it would be amazing. At lvl 50 it costs me an average of 55,000bp per level, if that could be reduced to 30-40,000 it would be a huge load off the grind and basically a full web per match or two, given my average bp per Survivor match is 15-20,000and average for killer is 50-60,000 (with BBQ).
-
Lithe, BT, Inner Strength, and Stake Out.
If I need to run a perk for a challenge the one I always swap out is Stake Out because while it's very useful it's the most expendable perk for me in my build.
-
I'd love an Ada skin down the road. I'm just really hoping there's an RE4 skin for Leon right off the bat though.
-
Since I'm gonna be a Leon Main my plan is get Jill's teachables and adept her then spend everything I have into Leon to get him fully loaded then focus on Nemesis adept and unlocks. With the event coming up I'm sure I'll be able to get all three to lvl 50 no problem, last year I P3-50'd a couple killers and Survivors and got them fully leveled by the end.
