I feel it underfoot all the time lately as survivor and occasionally as killer. Also when playing Hag, Trapper, and Demo if you're not sure you feel it you can try placing a trap or portal and if it's there you won't be able to place anything.
-
I feel ya, I've been grinding tome challenges so save up for Pinhead and finishing survivor challenges has been a beast because of the time of day I can play ("peak hours" in my region) and the mess that rank based match making has been. I'm usually a rank 6 survivor and some games it's me and 4 rank 1s and I do okay but get garbage BP and struggle to complete challenges or I'm the highest rank survivor against a rank 1 killer and we just get clapped. When I play on Sundays and Mondays during the day I have fantastic matches for both killer and survivor, nobody seems to really sweat (except once in a while) and things go pretty good overall.

that and prolly to prevent deliberate de-ranking to get easier matches.
The grades won't affect match making any longer but it's a reasonable assumption by some that "If I derank my grade I'm lowering my MMR" so after a certain point there's no way to assume based on your grade how much lower your MMR is going.

"RANK CHANGES & REWARDS
You may be wondering: With Skill-Based Matchmaking enabled full-time, what will happen to ranks?
Ranks will become Grades and feature all new icons, ranging from Ash to Iridescent. You can increase your grade by earning pips just like before, though there’s now a limit to how many pips you can lose.
On the 13th of each month, grades reset to Ash IV (the lowest grade) and you’ll receive up to 250,000 Bloodpoints depending on how far you’ve managed to climb. You’ll be rewarded for each role separately, so playing both sides can reap double the rewards."
Yeah, after going back and re-reading, it does come off like how you described it. Though I am curious about the "Limit to how many pips you can lose" thing is about and if MMR could limit how far down it can fall, but that's a huge reach. I just assumed with the rank change, something similar to OW's competitive titles would follow after.
The way I interpreted it is that your grade wont diminish and you won't be "punished" out of your rewards each month if you have a string of bad matches or you switch to a new killer you've never played or hardly played and it has to calculate where your MMR should stand.
-
Claiming tomes didn't work for me. Lost around 20k BP. The only time the cap has been exceeded for me has been log in rewards and redemption codes from the store.
-
Nope, don't miss them, don't even remember what they look like.
-
Don't feed the NOED, if you stomped them and find out there's NOED then open the gate and gtfo. If it was Blood Warden then just leave when the killer slugs during egc to wait out the timer.
-
He's ######### to play against. At least his minor nerfs made him less picked since you can't play forever Freddy anymore. His strength is alright, he's a solid A tier just not comparable to Nurse, Blight, and Spirit.

thats a fair point and all, but i think it is still a useful framing device, because people like to go on tyrades about how BHVR hates killer mains etc. whether or not you played it its a good standard to keep when examining these ideas on their merits. like for example, even though ds turns off if you even breathe, (hyperbolic i am aware) people are still made of piss about it and it is a useful framing device for examining their ideas of changes to it.
Using the argument as a framing device is fine, like I said "remember the past so you don't repeat it" and whatnot but to dismiss a players feeling, opinion, or argument by using that statement is a strawman fallacy.
For example I can say that I'm frustrated by the new pallet hit validation because of the camping pallets tactic many survivors are now using because 9/10 times my hit is gonna be taken away but someone replies "well back in 20whatever pallets were like x so don't complain" it's a bad use of the argument.
-
As someone that started in 2019 I really don't care how the game was in 2016-2017. People will constantly compare things to what they know but really shouldn't. It's ever evolving, even in the two years I've been playing the game is very different from meta to look to even how it feels to play.
While I understand the "remember the past so you don't repeat those mistakes" comments the fact remains that the game is constantly changing and evolving. Most people use it as just another Strawman argument, "thing x isn't a problem because back in 2016 thing y existed."

I haven't tried cause I'd rather get the bonuses from the Calm, Restraint, Discipline, and Order add-ons. It'd be worth a shot to try it out though.

The problem i see is that the concept of the power, the intent, are no match for a sweaty competitive match, mostly have more downsides then upsides.
True enough, it's not a great system. I'd rather they release a killer with a higher skill floor that can do amazing with the effort like Nurse, Blight, and Oni not killers with high skill floors and low skill ceilings that can't do ######### like Depipster and Twins. When your killers power is splitting map pressure and the best use most players get out of them is to camp or mass slug they're a badly implemented killer. Or when they're a ranged killer that takes 4times as much to get a down with only downsides to using their power and a speed debuff because "reasons", they're not just badly implemented but badly designed.
-
The new idea is to release a killer that's a bit weaker then work on tweaks after they can see how they perform. The next chapter has some Nemesis changes and I'm sure the midchapter will have more. Every update since released has had some trickster changes, he feels a bit better but for a ranged killer there's literally no topping Huntress so I don't know why they bother.
Hopefully Pinhead won't feel like trash upon release but we'll see.
-
What it needs, in my opinion, is to just reduce the cooldown. If they made it 60 seconds it would be much better. The fact that it's an entire gens worth of progress before it's available again is ridiculou.

Third Seal isn't bad. Imo the perk just doesn't have anything to complement or synergies with it, until Hex: Play Thing comes along.
But Hex perks are a problem within themselves not because of the perk, but the totem
When Plaything comes my Blindness Hag us gonna be even grosser. Right now she's Third Seal, Undying, Franklin's, BBQ, deffo gonna swap Undying for Plaything and see how people react to being Oblivious on top of blind for a bit.
-
Pallet hit validation changes. They're ######### stupid and what are making me hate playing killer right now because the only anti pallet killer I play is Doc and people pre drop so early against him he's more of an ani vault than an anti pallet.
-
I got it in two games with the perk Nemesis, that helped a ton. But I totally understand and don't get why DC's don't count as kills. I've been screwed out of so many challenges and adepts because of DCs.

It’s not as bad after the last patch. Even nurse blinks would destroy the game. Now it’s just Dead Hard, and Nemesis. I’m hoping I can find a PS5 in November. I heard next gen handles this game a lot better. I wouldn’t want to assemble a PC just for DBD. My variety of games has gotten so small now as to not need PC anymore. Sadly... Then my favorite exclusives were never available for PC. Like Bloodborne, and Sekiro. Which is the ONLY reason I chose console over PC these years. Soon to be Demon’s Souls. I’m a dedicated Soulsborne fan. 😂
Sekiro was 100% released on all platforms simultaneously. That being said Sony does, imo, have the best exclusives and hopefully the success of bringing Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn to PC will mean more Sony exclusives being ported over in the future cause I refuse to go back in technology and PS5s are no where to be found.

I was wearing it on pride month. Tbh I am not even sure of my sexuality. When I was dating it was straight but sometimes I am not sure what exactly am I and don't think about that much at all.
I don't find it important and I gave up dating and relationships like 6 years ago when I ended my last one.
Sounds like you could be Demi or Ace but human sexuality is fluid and you don't have to label yourself :) Your show of support is great no matter what

The biggest complaint with wraith is his add-ons. They've changed him to not be windstorm addon reliant so players can stack super strong stuff that has minimal counter like silent bell and all seeing blood or double windstorm so he just appears hits and then disappears and body blocks preventing any actual chase.
Aside from add-ons if he didn't have built in Coup every time he uncloaks he would be more tolerable in my opinion, because when he was bugged in one of the ptbs he was actually pretty fun to go against and more involved because he actually had to play around pallets instead of just camp pallet, uncloak, five mile lunge for the hit, then disappear.
-
The funny part is it doesn't cost BHVR much to make more outfits for less played characters that, if cool enough, could potentially earn them more money and increase the pick rate of those characters.
-
My best trapper snowball was in Torment Creek, I was running Honing Stone and Trapper Sack. Trapped like 6 pallets and was in the middle of chase with one survivor when two ran into traps at the same time then as I downed the one I was chasing the 4th ran directly into a trap so I 4 man slugged in under a minute.

I fail to see how someone leaving a game prematurely is such a pressing issue, it can certainly sway the game's balance if done really early but even then, it's a game, it's not like you actually lose your life if you die, just move onto the next match.
Didn't you know? Taking an L in a video game because of something completely out of your hands will actually literally ruin your life.
To the point of the thread, there have been times I went to give up and got rescued (because you can't immediately give up anymore) but I begrudgingly continued the match and won. There have been times I've done it out of spite for my other survivors either because of sandbagging or prioritizing/ignoring gens and there have been times I've done it to prevent the killer from tunneling me.
Even with the DC penalty I will still on occasion DC because I need to leave for real world reasons or I've loaded into a match that I shouldn't have readied up for in the first place and just close the application because it's better for my mental health to take a step back and do something more productive with my time. Because in the end, it is my time.

The license for the chapter is the Ghost Face mask by Fun World not the Scream franchise. The question of bringing the TV show mask in is whether or not the mask and show, in the first two seasons, was created and licensed by Fun World like the movies and season 3 were. If the Lakewood slasher mask was made by and licensed to mtv by Fun World it's a good possibility it could come to DbD but if not don't hold your breath.
-
As a Hag player I don't trap hooks until my third seal is cleansed and even then I will place a single trap at the hook (if I feel like it and most gens are done). Otherwise I'm trapping common survivor pathing and teleporting to anyone who sets off a trap without distinction.
The worst tunnelers imo, are Wraith players. They go invisible just far enough away from the hook that they're basically just running insidious with invisibility and as soon as someone comes for the save they zoom back and uncloak and go immediately after the unhooked survivor. Spirit is also really high up there as are Nemesis and Freddy players.
-
Pinhead's new perks seem more in line with the old ones.
1. Hex: Do Bones!
2. Scourge Hook: Sloppy+IndividualThanat
3. ######### yo Genrush!
Hopefully they don't mess them up with a bunch of conditions or cooldowns upon going live.

I had a Cheryl realize what I was trying to do on my first game trying for it and willingly let me have it. I despise playing Clown so her assistance was a godsend for me getting to move on and have fun in later games. Thank you console Cheryl player who helped me about a week ago on Yamaoka Shrine - I was the clown who only had bamboozle in the third perk slot.
I've noticed when I have to farm challenges or achievements console players seem more willing to help while PC players will die to prevent you from progressing it. I enjoy playing Clown but the counterproductiveness of this challenge is just beyond idiotic. When I play Clown I play him as pre-rework with extra bottles and longer intoxicated duration add-ons or as only yellow speedy wall hack with increased invigoration and aura reveal add-ons. There's never been an instance I've felt the need to use both colored bottles in the same match.

I finally got it on attempt 15 on Lery's at the long hall god pallet. Had two survivors there thew a yellow past them at the pallet then hit one directly with a purple, didn't break the pallet and the next time someone ran me there I threw the yellow past the pallet and hit the pallet with purple just before they vaulted.
-

get to the pallet side of a loop throw a yellow bottle at your feet then throw a purple at the survivor and just push them around the loop.
I'll have to give this a try, thanks for some actual advice!

You kill them while trying for this challenge? That is probably one reason why you haven't gotten it. Rofl. You basically have to throw the game to even attempt it, if you ask me.
I start by throwing and get no progress cause they don't run into the yellow after the purple then they get really cocky and it just turns into a quick slaughter or a 3k with hatch escape lol
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
I feel like you just need to give them some space at the exit gate and hope they help. But you know how survivors are. They aren't staying at exit gates to be polite. Now are they?
I kill them all before that happens. Haven't had an exit gate butt dance party in a while.

I have 250 hours in a killer. And I dont have anyone I can win easily without perks yet. And even if I had, I would had to pour millions into that killer just to get these perks for challenge
I get that, keep in mind you could add in NOED or Sloppy or something else you might have to help you out. Hopefully you get it, in stuck on this BS "Self Deprecating Joke" challenge myself.
-
@ShinobuSK said:
I am using pop, bamboozle and coulrophobia to get 3k now and already depipped 5 times
Play a killer you don't need perk to win with and add a fourth perk that will help you. For example, I can 4k pretty easily with Hag so I threw clown's perks on her and then added Franklin's for any potential beamers and got it in one match.
-
I hate Wraith, have since I started playing the game. Is he strong? Nope. Is he annoying to me? Yep. Do I think he needs nerfs? Nope, just one add-on needs to be changed.
I also hate most Steve players but that's because they usually play scummy or stupid and neither here nor there.
-
As a gay man, if I had to pick a killer based on their physique and lore to lust after it's my boy Evan. Built like a brick wall, strong, a little gut, tall, and daddy issues ;3 Oni is nice but Trapper can hack me to bits with his machete any day~
-
Play a killer that's not perk reliant for you. I did the clown perk build plus Franklin's as Hag and got it my first try. Probably could have done it with Ghostie or Oni too.
-
I'm guessing that they heard the awful feedback from the Trapper tome so they started to do multiple killers and survivors at a time but realized they would burn though things too fast so they went back to single killer and survivor but needed challenges to fill some spots so they've thrown in random recycled challenges.
-
A Scarecrow or a Spider themed killer! I really want another trapping killer though, we've had too many chase/ranged killers lately, I want another take on Hag or Trapper
-
A lot of us PC players only play the PTB for a couple days because of the horrendous queue times in there. The people that stick around longest are the content creators who play custom matches to test builds and look for bugs. I only played as Pinhead once because I waited almost an hour to find a match.

Instead of bolting when working on a gen and the killer approaches hide nearby, if someone is in a chase try to get in a locker at the loop they're on, if on The Game, Midwich, or Lery's don't leave when working on an objective and a chase is happening in the next room/downstairs/upstairs of you. You don't have to do the whole 30s in one shot, it can be spread out over the course of the match.

Blocking off all totems for around 15 seconds after one is cleansed sounds like a simple and fair idea. I’m all for a (non-hex) perk like that.
I'm just thinking the biggest complaints you hear from users of hexes are "it's cleansed in the first minute of the game" so a Corrupt Intervention that will block your Ruin for two minutes at the start of the match could be nice for those people. To me a 15 second block is too short/situational since it takes that long or longer just to find another totem unless someone is already on one when you finish yours.
-
If/when Netflix's game streaming fails there's always the possibility of a license renewal. Stadia has proven not a massive amount of people are interested in streaming games and Playstation Now on PC has shown how ineffective it is unless you throw massive amounts of resources into compression and optimization or else the games will run at 5fps and be unplayable without insane speed and bandwidth on the clients end.
-
I feel it's too oppressive. Instead of the shuffle they could do one that lights all totems after one is broken to provide confusion, or block off any active totems for a period of time like Corrupt Intervention does for gens.
-
Gonna admit, I didn't read your wall of text past your statement of "hiding in the TR for 15 seconds is a downside." I regularly run Stake Out and can guarantee you that by just playing normally and working on gens you'll get 8+ stacks per game provided you work on gens/heal. Work on a gen while the killer is in a chase near you and you'll use stacks as you get them. Stake Out is by no means a phenomenal perk but it is a fairly strong gen jockey perk that pairs well with Fast Track, Medkits with suture or glove add-ons, and most healing builds.
-
Please god no, more offerings cluttering the bloodwebs to play a fairly addon dependent killer as just basekit..... No, please no
