considering the immense amount of money they earn with this game vs the work/investment its pretty crazy to not just pony up the doe to keep the license, even if it means its not profitable, but just to make a stand, to stand behind your product.
Epic makes insane amounts of money with Fortnight? what do they do? give back, they make their engines free to use and up the price point to where they start asking a portion of the profit of a game made by it and they retroactively paid devs back that used their engine when the price point was lower.
Guess not every company can be like Epic when business is good.....
The ST cosmetics aren't available from Fortnite either from what I've heard. To me that says this was Netflix's doing.

I only miss a few licensed chapters, and I didn't buy them because I didn't care about the characters. I think I'd be sad for new players who could want to buy them... But I won't leave because a license is gone.

Actually, I think they could do maps which take inspiration into the license. Like, nothing's wrong about making a laboratory map... I prefer original maps tho. The licensed ones are often the worst to play. (I'm looking at you, Haddonfield!)

I'm just curious: if you left, why do you still read the forums? Not judging, just curious as I said.
Reskin the map and make it Blights or the basement of Lery's, it's not that hard
-
It's survivor sided. Split up and do gens on opposite corners. The reason it seems killer sided is right now everyone is trying to get the achievement so they congregate in the middle to blast out the most unsafe gen in the map. If two players stay on each side you'll always be able to get saves and still pressure objective. The map also has literal infinites scattered throughout. Some vaults are in places with LoS blockers that drop chase while the killer comes around so they'll never get blocked by the entity. Most of the pallet loops are safe. And the lighting in the map is so dark in many places you can hide 1m from the killer then slink back into the maze while they frantically search for another chase. The only killer that I've played on there that does pretty well when the survivors actually play optimally is Trapper and that's playing him the scummy way and trapping the narrow corridors to hooks.

I wasn't running that build, and I was on solo queue.
Just because you weren't running it doesn't mean killers have forgotten how certain perks have been weaponized against them. For example, if I get hit by Head On I will make sure that survivor dies immediately, I will throw the game and camp/tunnel them to death for stunning me with that ######### pos perk.
-
Characters I don't like. I understand Claud and Meg are two of the most played survivors but I hate them. If they do more of these pet cosmetics I can see a doberman for David, a horse girl outfit for Kate, Nea would have a spooky cat (she already has two cat related tops as is), Jake I think would have birds or squirrels, Felix with a German Shepherd, I can totally see Elodie for some reason having a frog and also for some reason I think Zarina would have a snake or lizard.
-
I hate it when this happens. I'll have days where it's all coldwind with one other realm thrown in or last night I got all Autohaven, no others, just Autohaven for 6 games.

Oh, is that why? I don't play in SWF ever, I just main killer and whenever I wanna torture myself, I play solo queue. I don't bully.
I've run into a couple bully squads that all run DS or Head On, Unbreakable, Soul Guard, and Dead Hard or WGLF and bring purple flashlights with batteries. They let killers get a down then swarm them with flashlights so you either drop the person or leave the slug to be picked up in seconds and tank a Soul Guard hit. Not sure how well that strat has changed since the introduction of Starstruck and more killers just opting to bring Lightborn instead of playing around clickies though since I haven't seen one of those squads since Trickster was released.
-
I'm guessing it's because a lot of flashlight bully squads will run it so killers can't slug, those squads are fairly reliant on you running a Hex most of the time though.

Leatherface, Freddy, Michael, Ghostface, Pyramid head, Nemesis, and Pig, all killers that we have seen before the year 2000 (Nemesis almost being modern but is 1 year short, 1999) (And I don't count Demo given he's really not that iconic. For Stranger things? Yes, but not in a general sense like all the others, also he's in season 1 out of 4, can't really compare him)
There are so many slashers and creatures that have come out since 2000 that BHVR haven't even touched. My Bloody Valentine, The Mist, Dog Soldiers, Slither, A Quiet Place, Hollow Man, American Psycho, Purge, etc.
And don't forget the games like Dead Space, Fear, Amnesia, Siren, Fnaf, Evil Within, Outlast, etc.
Some of these might not be iconic to you, but they ARE iconic to others.
All these deserve some position in the "Horror Hall of Fame", and yet all we've seen is ancient history.
American Psycho was released in 2000 and based off a book from 1991, My Bloody Valentine is a remake of a movie from 1981, A Quiet Place is not a slasher but a monster movie, The Mist is Lovecraftian Eldritch monsters, Slither is another monster/alien movie, Hollow Man is yet another in a long line of remakes/adaptations of The Invisible Man by HG Wells published in 1897, the Purge doesn't have any iconic killers and kinda already exists in DBD as The Legion, Saw was released in 2004 and saw Amanda as a killer in Saw 2 and 3 which came out in 2005 and 2006 respectively, Pyramid Head appeares in both Silent Hill movies released in the late 2000s. If you think something released in 2004 and ran Seven straight years with two follow up films since is "ancient history" I feel really bad for you and wonder if your parents know you're using the internet and playing an M rated game....

There hasn't been any official statement about the F13 lawsuit ending, just the hearsay musings of Cory Feldman. So I doubt the lawsuit is even over let alone they'd have enough time to get Jason in the game.
For me personally I would be overjoyed if it is a Hellraiser or Candyman chapter but as long as the killer power is good I'm cool with whoever.
-
For me it changes up from time to time. I was a Doc main at start switched to Wraith for a minute then I was obsessed with Hag (she's still my go to killer), then I was on a pig and Ghostface kick for a while and then Trapper and now I jump around between Trapper, Hag, Doc, and Ghostie.
What helped me a lot for finding killers that clicked with me was grinding individual killer achievements. It gives enough matches to learn some better strategies and get a solid feel for their powers. For example I hated Ghostface the first couple matches I played as him but as I started to grind out his stalking achievement I learned how to handle him better and use his shroud to mess with survivors in chases and he became one of my favorites.
-
I play on PC with a controller and the only killers I have problems with using one are Huntress and Trickster because there's no crosshair or clear indicator to line up my shots. Controller makes it a little harder to flick blinks, lethal rushes, Demon dashes, and chainsaw sprints but I do just fine with that slightly smaller degree of motion.
-
Once survivors get used to the layout it will be the most survivor sided map in the game, there are literal infinites all over the place, numerous safe pallets, and lots of dark nooks and crannies to hide out in. It can be a mix of fun and annoying as killer because it keeps chases interesting but there's so much distance to cover that patrolling gens is impossible. The map is fun and something completely new to the game.
-
The blind effect physically hurts my eyes so I've been running it anytime I see a Jill in my lobby or more than one flashlight.

I probably won't be here for the next Chapter's release, but I would like to see a killer without a chase power.
I want another trapping killer. I'm over anti chase and ranged attacks. Outside of Trapper and Hag we don't have any trap killers. The most recent killers have all been ranged, mobility, and "what're pallets?" killers.
-
I thought it didn't affect his reload time?

I thought Iron Maiden would become more popular whith double exposed time. But I never see it.
Because the only killers it actually works well on are Huntress for the reloads and Doctor for the people that want to hide from madness. Most Huntress' that I face use it but Doctors seem to not understand his kit and use Monitor and slowdowns to either only mess with skill chicks or try to play him as a pseudo stealthy killer. The most common Doc build I see is Monitor, Overcharge, BBQ, and Sloppy or Thana with Iridescent add-ons.
-
I feel like the hyperbole in this thread is outstanding. As a trapper player I rarely "lose" games, I consider a loss a 1k or 0k, and when I do it's against a map user constantly disarming or a 4 man with all meta builds and BNP. Hag got me out of purple ranks and Trapper got me to rank 1 with a merciless almost every game.
For a build I run STBFL, Brutal, BBQ, and Pop and usually bring a bag and a setting speed add-on.
Yeah his power is weak but as long as you always have one trap on your person you can shut down a loop or fake shutting it down. Not to mention with all of the anti loop/strong powered killers not many survivors have skill against an M1 killer anymore. I got my adepts for Trickster, Nemesis, Twins, Blight, Billy, Bubba, Slinger, Demo, and Plague without using their power more than once.
Don't get me wrong, it would be nice to get some QoL for his power starting with a couple traps base kit and tweaking his RNG would be very welcomed.
-
Rookie Spirit is the one I'd replace for something that works well with Iron Will and Blood Pact, maybe Bite the Bullet, Desperate Measures, Bond, or Spine Chill to make it a more altruistic/immersive geared build. Really it depends on what you need help with in game, like if your map knowledge is pretty good Rookie Spirit is a wasted slot, and what kind of play style you want to approach the match with.
For example my biggest problem as survivor is escaping chase so I bring Lithe and Iron Will and as a solo queue player I always bring something to heal myself so my go to healing perk is Inner Strength and in solo queue you can't coordinate saves easily so I bring BT to give us more of a chance. The way I play is to be more of an everyman for the team to fill whatever role is lacking, like if I see nobody is going for the rescue I'll be the team unhooker and healer or if no gens have been done for a bit I'll switch gears to gen jockey mode.
-
He's in an alright spot, he just needs some tweaks to start:
Make the hindered effect on an infection hit actually be a thing or just remove the speed boost from it.
Look at zombie AI and collision.
Possibly readjust some of the perk times and percentages from the chapter as a whole.
-
Because too many people are queueing up as survivor. They have a lobby and the game expands and expands it's search parameters for them until it finds an available killer. During peak hours I get instant killer queues but playing survivor I'm waiting 10+ minutes to get a match.
Every time the match making starts balancing out, like during the event when there were a lot of people playing Nemesis or focusing on getting all crowns, they change an aspect of the game that causes less people to queue for one side or the other. Right now it's the pallet hit validation and until it's patched so killers aren't given false feedback the queues and MM are gonna stay like they are now.
-
If/when people actually learn the map it'll be quite survivor sided. I think it's fun and am apparently in the minority but my games there have been as Trapper and Slinger for killer and against Blight and Huntress as survivor. The slinger match was a 1K cause I already suck with him and I had to camp that one after the gens were powered. The Trapper game was a stupid easy 4k due to an afk player, another left to die on first hook, one that ran into every trap I placed, and one trying to meme the whole game. As survivor the Blight match was a 2E and I got the achievement for the gen and we had a 2 man that included a No Mither David and a Bill that seemed allergic to gens lol. The Huntress match was terrible, one DC, one give up on hook, and the last two of us slugged at 5 gens.

I mean, Pig, Ghostface, and Trapper were all also pretty hardcore countered by the whole hold w and pre-drop strat, only anti-chase killers like Pyramid Head, Doctor, and Nemesis were also countered really badly. If we return to the looping + greeding meta then Spirit Fury/Enduring, Brutal, Bamboozle, etc all become much better perks, and killers without movement but strong chase powers also become so much better.
Looping is the best of 3 evils (the other 2 being massive stealth and hold w pre-drop) for the game imho. There's also a lot more counterplay to looping than the other 2
For how I play the hold W doesn't work as well against me because I know how to cut people off and use map knowledge to my advantage.
I absolutely hate looping.
I've only had one hit reset so far but I've already noticed a lot of Survivors are more prone to running the same loop over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again until they finally drop the pallet instead of keeping the chase interesting and switching up tiles or evading away. It gets boring incredibly quickly and takes away any variety of the game. Trapper could still work for me since all I'd have to do is identify the strong loops and go lock them down and hope they don't watch me do it and disarm them immediately but when every match is "get in chase find the shack or long wall loop closest to me and run it until the killer Bloodlusts and is about to get a hit before dropping and moving to the next strongest loop" playing killer becomes more if a boring chore and just a repetitive and monotonous task.
-
I hate that we're back to looping and greeding the pallets. Good bye m1 killers and hello again chase/pallet denier killers. Looks like I'm done with Pig, Ghostie, and Trapper and will have to go back to being a full time Hag and Doc main and should start getting good with Pyramid Head and Nemesis.
-
The only time a 99 did me more harm was when I was slugged 5m from the gate and the killer chased someone else to the other side of the map slugged them, then got in a chase with the last person alive and slugged them. If the gate had been open it would have been a guaranteed 2E since I was on death hook anyway. And that was almost 2 years ago now...
-
Yeah it's ######### she threw but at the same time you are BMing by constantly slugging or just letting her bleed out. If she was giving up on hook it's on her teammate, not you, that she should have put her aggression into but by not killing her you said it yourself, you're playing against a 3 man anyway. Sacrifice her so she can move on and that whole post game exchange could have been avoided, and her teammates could have played the game normally instead of wasting a bunch of time picking her back up.
To me it sounds like the only reason you held her in the match was to apply more pressure to the three survivors that kept picking her up. I've had plenty of games where a three man team won after someone DC'd, gave up, or was tunneled out immediately.
-
Pre match should return offerings. Check your number of cakes before the match starts and if it happens again check the number of cakes. If it's actually consuming them there's something wrong and it should be reported as a bug.
-
If the legal issues were indeed settled they'd definitely save Jason for the Anniversary. Also, if they got the rights immediately, like the second they were available, it'd still be somewhere around 6-9 months before the chapter releases (at least I believe that's what they've stated is their development timeline for new chapters)
Although I'd love to see him make his way to the game and he's one of my dream chapters I'm not holding my breath.
-
It's also red rarity? That's a first.

Stop trying to force others to do what you want. You know the vast majority hate this map, yet you try to force it on them anyways. So how are you any better than people who don't want to play it?
Actually nobody knows if the vast majority hate this map. All I've seen is a handful of the same people on here, which is no way a majority of players playing this game, complaining about a map that has had very little rotation because of bugs that cause crashes. I played a lot of survivor on the PTB almost exclusively on RPD and enjoyed it and didn't escape every time. Since the chapter went live I've only gotten to play on it twice; once as Deathslinger while trying to do a daily and got partially wrecked but still finished the daily, and the other time as survivor against a laggy huntress hitting me well around corners so I gave up on 2nd hook because of the killer, not the map.

Well said.
OP, just to give an example, here's how it would work for a game during the bloodhunt in which you scored 32,000 bloodpoints, 4 BBQ stacks, and 3 cakes were used
Total = 32,000 x (base points(1) + bloodhunt bonus (1) + BBQ stacks (0.25/stack) + (1.05)(# of cakes used))
Total = 32,000 x (1 + 1 + 1 + 3.15)
Total = 196,800
Versus, if 3 cakes were used OUTSIDE of a bloodhunt, and you had 4 BBQ stacks with 32,000 BP score
Total = 32,000 x (1 + 1 + 3.15)
Total = 164,800
-------------------------------------
So feel free to use the cakes whenever you want. Bloodhunt does not multiply the value of any BP offering, it's just an extra 100% BP from your base match score
Thanks, I just realized though that BPS isn't the right comparison, a more apt would be Survivor Pudding or Escape Cake basekit on everyone since if everyone had BPS that'd be 500% blood points lol
-
I keep saying the biggest problem with sweat is rank reset. When I started you were pushed back 10 ranks and all the sweat lords were back facing each other within a day or two and the rest of us could have more balanced matches. Now it's easier to get up to red ranks because you aren't thrown back as far but it's impossible to back pedal, unless you afk every match until you're down a color or two.
-
To me they both have their niches.
Lightborn is my go to if there's more than one flashlight in a lobby because my eyes are very light sensitive and I don't want a headache from the barrage of pallet blinds and attempted flashlight saves. Also if you down someone out in the open you can just pick them up without having to worry about the Blendy with the beamer hiding behind the rock.
Franklin's is my go to for Hag since Flashlights can completely counter her power and you can easily trap any items for added pressure because we all know most survivors just can't play without their item.
-
Think of it this way, Bloodhunt is basekit Party Streamers for the duration. Anything on top of that adds not multiplies.
-
When I played with friends we would do map roulette, three picked maps they wanted to play on and one picked a map that sucked so at the time the maps we all hated for survivor were Midwich, old The Game, and Lery's.
That was the only time we would use map offerings and over half the time we wouldn't bring old Ormond or Haddonfield because even we viewed them as sweaty maps that provided too much resource to our team.

Would you like Forest Spirit killer? She will use ivy traps, she will carry them all on herself like Hag. When survivor trigger trap, ivies will block survivor. Survivor can not move, they have to clean ivy. This mechanic will work like mend. If they do in time, they can escape.
That'd be a pretty cool concept too. Similar to what I was thinking with spider webs :)
-
Two things I want potentially in one killer:
1. A new trap killer to love and adore (I'm primarily a Hag+Trapper main)
2. A spider themed killer.
The trap killer would be cool to do an Evil Within license using Stefano and his time slowdown cameras as traps. Or better yet, a Jorōgumo or other spiderlike killer setting up webs to trap and stall survivors.
-
I really enjoy it for the lore and it gives a different kind of grind that simultaneously eases the main grind with the BP awarded for completing challenges.
Personally I play the game on average 2 hours a day and complete the rift with a week or two remaining every time.
-
To me Nurse's is a niche perk, it makes great plays against bold/dumb (hard to tell the difference some times) players but I can definitely see how you can get some more plays with it against BtB players.

Now that keys can't open hatch with no charges in my opinion it's literally no different in effect than it was before
?
You don't consider anything I've said, here, a buff?
Nope, to me it's a lateral move, like side stepping instead of moving forward. I guess you could consider it a buff in the sense that if they get a chance to pick up the item again they'll get less use out of it but going back for it while injured is already a very very risky move and a smart survivor will abandon it. I can't begin to tell you how many free downs I've gotten from greedy players coming back almost immediately for their items.
When I'm playing survivor I bring a med kit for backup for Inner Strength. If a killer is running Franklin's I abandon my item and focus on objective or rescues because I know that I'm probably not gonna get use out of that med kit anyway since I'm either gonna get downed going back for it or another survivor will take it. Plus there's always the option of losing the killer and finding a chest or getting healed by teammates. With how common Prove Thyself is after the DS nerf I never feel the need to bring a toolbox, I suck with flashlights so I don't bother unless I have a challenge and can pallet blind, Maps I only use for challenges, and as someone that plays killer as well I despise Keys so I don't bother with them unless again there's a tome challenge for it.

Do you not view it as a buff solely because it doesn't affect vaccines & flashbangs?
Now that keys can't open hatch with no charges in my opinion it's literally no different in effect than it was before. Remove items from the game or remove their charges and make them worthless, all the same to a Hag that hates items lol
-
It's a lateral change to take T-virus vaccines not affected by it. It does have the downside of not countering flash bangs though. I wouldn't call it a nerf or a buff.
-
What killer was it, on PC I've had a couple Billy's that were like that, no stealth add-ons but no TR while chainsawing and no chase music half the match.
-
Half the problem is current rank reset, if you want to play casual you slowly get up into sweat ranks and can never get back down unless you can let awful matches slide and manually depip. Instead you get stuck in red ranks where other players almost force you to sweat and try hard. If reset threw everyone back down 10 ranks like when I started you could play more casually and remain in the casual/chill ranks and let the try hards fight their way back up to red

I am not best killer in the world but i am good at killer. And i never needed this perk. I used it on Nemesis for adept. And after i get achievement, it is on my trash perks box.
But i really tried some different builds on Blight. But survivors were still salty. I do not think problem is perks. Problem is survivors wanna win. They can win but if they lose, that is not our fault.
Agreed, if you've been playing longer than 10 hours you'll have a good idea of survivor spawns and be able to get into chase in no time without wasting a perk slot. It's the same to me with Corrupt, so many people say to use it on Hag and Trapper to prevent early gens but that pushes the survivors to you so you don't get a chance to set up and now ruined your midgame and might not be able to recover by endgame.
-
My two rules:
DS me on your first hook after I've tried going for someone else and you're getting tunneled/camped.
Flashlight/pallet/flash bang save before I've gotten any hooks and the rest of the match is you being tunneled out.
Old rule of mine:
You bring Object and you're getting slugged and bled out. (With Object nerf I no longer adhere to this rule)
-
The things that make the game unfun for me are the players that just want to rush through their objective, killer and survivor, that being said when the game is dragged out just for the sake of dragging it out is tedious and feels like the players are just rubbing it in your face that they could end the match but won't. Also when I have "escape" challenges in the tome.... They take so many matches because of the specific conditions and when I spend 8 matches trying to escape through hatch with a map and get close 5 times but the killer closes it in my face or my teammates won't leave preventing me from doing it I'm gonna get tilted and annoyed and every other synonym for pissed off about not being able to make progress on that damn challenge
-
I'd rather play against Spirit any day. For the most part she can be countered by holding W and messing with your scratch marks to throw her off, as long as she isn't phasing she's a 110 m1 killer. Wraith in the other hand is a 115 m1 killer that can go 150 anytime he wants and the "slowdown" from uncloaking is completely undone by the built in Coup De Grace that he has for his post uncloak lunge. I've hated playing against Wraith since day 1 because of this, the buffs just made him super common to go against now and made it so more and more are running silent bell and all seeing. Add the number of wraith players that proxy camp and tunnel off hook and the fact that you get Jack ######### for chase/boldness points against him and if you're the first downed you might as well have DC'd because you're leaving the match with less than 4000 BP anyway.
