Personally it is gens speeds for one reason. You can't pressure all survivors. If you're a good killer and you're facing a team of good survivors, with most killers they can get 2-3 gens done by the time you hook a survivor and go to patrol gens again.
Solo/Duo gen speeds are fine, maybe find ways to limiting only 2 people per generator or increase skill checks if 2 people are working on the same gen...again though i've never been gen rushed on Gideon, Lery's , Hawkins or Dead Dawg for the fact they're harder to find generators and much smaller maps than what we usually play. Solo Gen speeds are fine. It's hard to rely on randoms to come and do a generator with you. It already takes like 2 minutes (without debuffs) to repair a generator

The most killer sided concept I’ve ever seen. You do realize by making gen speed slower you’re only encouraging More SWF right? Because solo is near impossible. How about they do something about Mori’s ? I think all survivors should be hooked before killers can Mori. It’s not fun for survivors either to stick around for long when you’re able to kill people so fast. Killer players just want more and more. I get that gen rush is a problem. But there are ways to slow it down already. You don’t need to do anything about that. Toolboxes were already hit hard. I might just uninstall if they keep hitting survivors . You realize the last few patches were killer buffs right?
It's worse on Xbox when you get dodged 6 times in a row and then you finally load into a game after 30 minutes of queuing to have 2 minutes of action before you're immiediatley tunneled and mori'd...Killer just want us to hold the same button down longer to make the game more fun for them and less stressful while we're losing braincells staring at a progress bar.
-
Gen Speed & Gen regressing really isn't the answer for gen speed balancing. Think of the hardest maps for survivor right now...IMO that's Hawkins, Gideon, Lery's...Small maps...I would hate to be playing survivor and just holding RB Longer and right now perks like Dying Light and Thanataphobia are being used a lot more...Map balancing is what we need before we get anymore perk reworks because as a map get's reworked then perks are going to behave in different ways...

I dont think killers need buffs. There is great/op perks for killer, same as survivor. I feel like the big issue is killers try too hard to get 4 kills. But while I do agree with the SWF statement, survivors are definitley not overpowered. Sure some perks like DS or Adrenaline might be a bit too good for what they do but I don't find a issue with any of them when i play Killer. The fact is there is a lot of 1 shot killers in the game and to me that's fair balance. You should look at the real issue instead of blaming perks and that is map sizes & loops.
The last map added and the Lery's rework was great balancing the game needs. I find it almost impossible to win on Lery's as a survivor and the new map feels like it could go either way (which is what the game should be like). Maps like Autohaven, Crotus and Macmillan need rewords desparately because the size of the map for killer and the way the game is played now is very different to when the game came out.
For me Springwood is the map that needs the biggest rework. Maybe make is a complete indoor map of the school and playground because there is too many buildings, pallets etc..it's my favorite survivor map because there is so many pallets and loops to run.
But yeah that's my opinion. I love the game and how it is right now, i'm glad the old Ruin is gone from both sides because it really was "Ruining" the game. I don't think nerfing gen speeds needs to be the solution either, with the toolbox rework it seems to be like gens getting done slower now & nothing more FUN than sitting there longer to repair a generator.
What I want right now is more Double BP's events. Man it's a grind...

And "The Time" as a killer woop woop!
Seriously, i would love to see Marty as an independent DLC.
I mean they wouldn't have to add a killer but it would be a cool concept to have someone who is like messing with time xD

if anyone finds the game boring and repetitive, why would you waste precious life on it...
legit no one said the game was reptitive...it's called adding variety to the game which is what we're in desparate need of. There's been enough forum posts by other players leaving the game because they're bored of there being no variety basically. I just said i'm bored of them "adding" humanoid killers. Not Bored of the game. There's a difference.

Hag crawls around so I honestly don't see why we couldn't get something akin to a werewolf. I mean werewolves ARE humanoids.
yea they are, but what i meant by humanoids was the actual human killers we keep getting which is boring, they all just look human...apart from the Hag maybe, we have too many, that's my point.

hu·man·oid
- having an appearance or character resembling that of a human.
- "a small, green, and hideously warty humanoid figure"
noun
- (especially in science fiction) a being resembling a human in its shape.
- "a three-eyed humanoid"
I think Demo-goodboi fits the humanoid description just fine.
Not really what i meant by it, yeah he walks on 2 legs but he should also have a crawl fuction. They could still have a beast like a werewolf or something that wouldn't have to crawl around, even a Xenomorph can walk on it's back legs, doesn't make it a humanoid :s
-
@C3Tooth said:
Any beast that crawl through window, yes, but they will never get bigger than the windows (talk about Killer's size)
Have something that low, Hag is the lowest by now. I dont think lower than Hag will be easy in Cold wind farm, especially if lower than the windows, you cant even tell a Survivor run to left or right from the window when you're at the opposite side.
Okay so if the window is a issue add a killer that can wallhack windows, like i said the creature from a quiet place goes by sound and maybe all it can see is survivors auras...

Nobody said mr bean (but we had spock tho) so far, but they all dont fit with this game. This is just my opinion, i like Marty as a figure trust me, but i would not want him in dead by daylight at all, sorry.
Also where is this negative? From my pov all posts were just constructive feedback to your suggestion, nothing more nothing less. If a suggestion is bad in their mind, why should people not say what they think? Do we have to be positive with everything everyone says?
no but legit anytime someone shares an idea for the game people can't help themselves but want to be negative about it. It's a fact...I have several other posts and while people are entitled to their opinions there was a few comments in them that felt more like people just wanting to be negative for the sake of being negative. But I get it. Just saying, the game needs something refreshing about it.

The game is designed to have just humanoid killers. Demogorgon is an exception, that from my point of view should have never happened. I really hate Demodog and i hope that never ever another "thing" will come into this game.
that's probably the most fun killer in the game to play against, better than the usual boring Killers we always get. Hope Demo get's a buff
-
@C3Tooth said:
The problems from the core design that no matter how Killers look like, they still have to have those requirement.
- We will never have a Killer that has base speed more than 115% (Stranger thing, I believe it should have a mode to run at higher speed because they can run like a dog, but they dont in game).
- Stunned by pallet (I think Oni gets stunned by pallet is stupid, but its the game core design)
- Sight limited, which mean we will not have Killers that have eyes on the their back.
- Same M1 lenght (Oni has really big katana that the weapon models have break in half to make the M1 range the same as Legion's knife)
- Slow vault (Nurse should have to fly above windows, why she has to slow vault it?)
- Able to cross terrain where Survivor can cross (you will never get any Killer that bigger than those doors)
They dont have to be 115% speed, they could easily animate any beast to actually crawl through a window, like I said having something that's low to the ground isn't a bad thing, makes it harder to spot etc...it wouldn't be hard to have anything i've said above in the game and also have it fit the core design.

All the licensed survivors are horror icons. Stranger things is still mystery-horror scifi and it had even some scary moments.
I think it is still a horror game, and i want it to be that way, which is the reason i dont want characters like Marty, Mr Bean and Spock in Dead by Daylight. Dont make this game even more to a clownfiesta as it already might be please :)
Legit nobody said Mr Bean or Spock...I feel like someone like Marty would be an exception. But hey not like this community to pretty much turn any post into a negative one.

Marty McFly is super iconic and i absolutly love all the Back to the future movies (got a big wallpaper of him and doc in my gaming room), but he wont fit with the universe. This is still a horror game with characters from that genre, B2tf is Sci-Fi commedy.
So no thank you, sry Marty as much as i love you but you dont belong to DbD.
This aint a horror game anymore, you seen the new chapter? Lol...and like i said in another comment, the survivors don't have to be scary. I wouldn't call Stranger Things more of a horror than BTTF tbh xD. Still feels likes a Sci-Fi Comedy

I think they know and don't care. All they care about is their next cash grab. They probably know the game is dying and only care about making new cosmetics and content for people to spend their money on rather than actually fixing issues. I play on Xbox, we still don't have dedicated servers, frame-rate drops...I lose frames just sitting in the menu spending my bloodpoints and not to mention all the errors.
That's just the beginning...unbalanced perks (on both sides)...terrible hit detection (aparently this is ping related)...
They legit said in a previous Dev stream that they use these "capsules" for hit boxes which is probably one of the oldest methods for a hit-box and they have them so big compared to the characters. It's quite dumb how this game is being Developed and IMO they don't deserve the IP.

As a back to the future fan I would love, but as a dead by daylight player no, BHVR would never add it, cuz there's nothing to do with horror (tho this game is not horror anymore)
The Survivors dont really have to be scary or from a horror, they could easily just figure out a way where Marty ends up there through time travel or something.
Yeah with the new update, slowly looking like a kids game. 0 horror related things from the new chapter. The map is awful and doesn't belong in this game, the killer isn't scary at all...
-
I mainly use it for the extra bloodpoints, but I don't think it is much of a issue. Especially since toolboxes are now pretty much pointless to use for gens and are better for hook sabos now.

Back to the Future isnt a horror, what makes you think it is just out of curiosity? It shares some common elements to Stranger Things like the comedy elements but that is as far as it goes.
Aside from Doc getting killed near the start of the first film, does the Back to the Future series even have a kill count or what could be seen as a serial killer? No.
There's literally no need to get all professional over a supposed to be FUN forum post, just goes to show how actual toxic this community is and it need more people making these kind of posts instead of the usual complaining and people being toxic to eachother...I was joking with saying the second movie was a horror just because of all it's plot-holes and mistakes...and if you want to be all serious about it. It does have quite a high death toll with all those poor people's timelines being written over which causes them to not exist. Smh.

Well, I support this idea, and here's why. I got injured on my wrist and I couldn't move the majority of that part over a week. I managed to play dbd, mostly killer, but when I started playing survivor I realised my mistake. Since my left hand couldn't reach the shift button without hurting, I decided to replace the sprint button with m5. Not a huge deal, I could play. But when I got into struggle it was difficult. My wrist couldn't keep up and I forgot to change struggle to m1 so I died. And since both of my hands have some kind of weakness, smashing m1 on the hook was a difficult task. If I miss a click for a quarter of a second I die. So, with a few words, for people with wrist/hand injuries or problems it's hard to keep up.
So, in conclusion, please either make struggle automatic or make is toggle. It would be great for me and a lot of fans of this game.
Also when there's a lag spike and it recognises that as you've stopped struggling it instantly kills you...but yeah I 100% agree with this being a feature, I don't so much want to who game to be a simulator or at least make it easier to struggle because imma end up with arthritus at the age of 30 through this game, Holding the same button down on a gen even starting to hurt my hands after a while now

Nerf keys so you can't open the hatch after all the gens are popped and can't be open again after the killer shut it. After that, yeah, nerf the mori
i've never seen a issue with keys before tbh, but seems like a lot of killer find them annoying i guess, it takes some coordination to get a hatch escape, i'm speaking from a solo/duo xbox player who never uses comms with tms so it might be different on other platforms
-
@Flatskull said:
I ain't equippeing an offering for an animation and 500 more blood points.
That's straight up dumb.
If you nerf them at that point they are literally a cosmetic that they might as well be basekit. Which would ruin potential for saves.
Keys are dumb. They still end the game early and with how quick gens are, that can be in a matter of minutes. Same as a mori. The biggest issue with mori is that there isn't a lot of perks to help a survivor freshly unhooked who is normally buggered when a team mate decides to sprint burst from the killer, run off or not provide distraction at all or they "distract" the killer by predictably running to a safe loop then wonder why the killer didn't follow them.
Keys do have countered to some extent. I mean, franklins demise ruins keys.
Neither keys nor moris are meant to be fair. They are blatantly broken. I guess the idea is to have something that will always make the other side still fear-and respect- the other sides abilities to an extent since it's hard to tell when either of them have it.
IF...you wanted moris to be fair I guess you could get rid of them as an offering and have them as something that sort of kicks in when a killers meets a certain condition. With cypress being base kit since its condition requires the survivor under its effect to be pretty much utterly screwed anyway.
Only issue with that is that there are so little worth while offerings on each side as is. It would thin out the mechanic much more.
i'm yet to see a game with gens being done quick other than actual SWF since the toolbox nerf...Like i said I play solo/duo and sometimes killer. Gens don't get done as fast as most people say (on xbox) because I literally will run the killer as much as i can without my tms doing a single gen. This is in RED RANKS. I like the mori'n like i said, i just wish the survivors got something out of it other than a triggering experience of finally getting a game only to have it ended in 2 minutes :)

For me on Xbox things were great when Dedicated Servers came out. I know that a lot of people hated them but god my ping was so good my Xbone stopped having problems running the game. Now were back to P2P everything's laggy and my Survivor players always live over 40hrs away from me and use spotty WiFi, happens with Killers too.
Bring them back devs, there's too many WiFi gamers who refuse to hard-wire their console and that's like 90% of the problem.
I play hardwired all the time and have experienced the so called Wi-Fi players who lag really bad on the P2P connections. But man I never got a game less that 200ms ping on dedicated servers

I never play killer so can't speak to anything with Demogorgon---who I hardly ever see in any event. I mostly play solo but do have a swf group I play with and 90% of the time have no issues...maybe a few times someone won't be in the lobby for some reason or someone won't see the others as "ready up" and will be searching for a match forever and we'll all have to back out, but it's rare.
Rare? I stream this game and play with a couple of my viewers, throughout a 4 hour stream i'll probably have to restart the game about 6 times. If I don't restart it because of errors then i have to restart it because of frame drops...I played probably 20 games in a row solo and then went into a hawkins game...the framerate was so bad Doc was phasing through pallets.

I get a few errors in the lobby but it is not to the degree I'd go crazy over..1..2 times a night maybe. Now this past summer I had days I'd get dropped by the host 10 and 20 times a day, but now things like that are pretty infrequent really. The trash servers are now gone so no longer an issue. At my rank 4 queue times are a bit long...5 minutes or so but at rank 14 nearly instant. All I can say is my experience with DBD on Xbox is different than yours, and you might note if you read either here or the Steam boards crashes and bugs and the like happen just as much on PC.
do you play solo? Seem like everytime i'm with people they cant see other people in the lobby and that forces us to restart the game because of errors and the queue times arent that bad im at rank 1 because theres loads of people playing the new killer. So you're telling me that the framerate is fine on this game? Like how bad it stutters playing as Demogorgon? Trust me PC will have barely as many issues as we do on Xbox.

Because your entire post is based on wrong statements.
DS does not only come in effect when the killer is tunneling, read through the thread and you will see many examples where a killer didn't tunnel and yet gets hit by DS. Here is a point where I kinda doubt that you are a rank1 survivor for ages, do you expect me to believe you that you only ever used DS when you were tunneled? I highly doubt that I have seen it so many times come to use without any tunneling at all and the same goes for BT. When I do play nurse bbq, i hook a survivor yet i only blink once or i am in the middle of the blink when the person gets unhooked. So tell me why should I traverse the entire map when i can just turn around and find 2 or at least 1 survivor immediately again? The perks just give too much power even considering that only one out of four has to equip in order for the killer having to respect it.
Why do you think old ruin was used instead of devour hope when both existed? Yeah right lets assume the hex lasts, ruin made for a longer match while having a survivor exposed is neat and all but punishes the killer via emblem. Ever played billy and using the saw for curves and not only for mobility? It is a sad song good billy mains sing. Always funny to see keyboard warriors explain how people like zubat do suck for using ruin.
Oh yeah BT, BT was buffed so many times that it just is a safe unhook even tho the unhook was utterly ######### in the first place. Not the unhook itself but when it was made, alot of survivors simply unhook while the killer is around in order for him to come back while the rescuer hides. So none of the perks actually just work for their intended use but beyond it.
It is odd, you claim on the one hand map sizes are a problem yet gen pressure is good. See that doesn't make sense when maps are too big for killers to put pressure on gens how can the gen pressure be good? How do you make those assumptions about killers that they just want easy kills, 4ks and nothing else? I do not like to generalize because it is stupid. Same could be said about the other side, all survivors just want free escapes and nothing else and are super lazy who can do nothing but hold m1. Fact is that it is way easier to rank up as survivor and it is also a fact that with the dev blog entry about ruin that indeed yes the game is being catered for survivors.
SWF is the nice example for it, the mode simply gives survivors alot of perks, which they actually have to equip to obtain the info but you get it just like that. Add stuff like OoO into the mix and you have basicly the entire time complete info on the killer by all 4 survivors. The game is balanced around solo play, devs simply ignore the issue that swf brings because "goofing around with friends". Probably one of the most pathetic excuses ever to avoid having to balance the game. Alot of the toxic garbage in this game is enabled via the devs because they choose to ignore problems because to be frank, i mostly bully/troll killers because I am bored and know that I can ######### up way too much before I have to play serious. I think i am not the only one with that.
What I see is people that do want to have fair (skillwise) matches most of the time which is not possible due a ridiculous flawed matchmaking. And whenever the devs do decide to implement their superspecial superduperwooper mmr which is going to fix matchmaking, people will be unable to even see what they played against, did they do good or not? Should they have won due to mmr? Was it the expected result? Nobody will know but more importantly nobody can complain.
Oh and another contradiction is your hardcore survivor bias. DS/BT get used because killer only tunnel and camp and that explains the high usage of these perks. But on the other hand you have no problem insulting most killers for using ruin as it was used 80% by red ranked killers. Did it ever occur to you that this was due to gens/maps? Nah they are all lazy and just want easy 4ks. 🤦
Not sure why I even read all of that or even bothering to reply. Like i said in another comment, I've been playing a lot of killer lately i've yet to have any issue with someone running DS or BT. I'm not sure anywhere in my post I said or asked you to traverse the otherside of the map when you could just go back to the hook to down someone, i Said Killers tunnel, it's not tunneling if you go for the guy who just unhooked the other survivor? Legit that whole DS paragraph made 0 sense to anything i've said. Survivors only run DS beccause they get tunneled so much, it's a FACT. As for your concern i'm not Rank 1 i've got plenty of proof of that.
Again a reply about trying to slow the game down even more, as a Killer and Survivor slowing down generators is such a boring and cheap way around making matches longer. Just saying survivors don't want to be sitting there for 2 minutes holding down the same button doing "skill checks"...I was glad when they got rid of it and if you really want to slow down generators Thanataphobia with a few stacks of Dying Light works pretty good too...might take till 2 or 3 gens are done before it has a real effect but it will still make the game "last longer"...
Yep maps are too big (certain ones) Crotus Prenn is a broken map with the main building containing too many loops and pallets...yeah gen pressurising is good at a certain point in the game, being clever and trying to force survivors into a 3 gen situation is a fun tactic for a killer to try...
Pretty sure i didn't say anywhere that survivors want a free escape...I actually said i enjoy getting into chases with the killer and i don't mind if i die, i'll move onto the next game and continue to have fun.
BT is a boring perk, i only run it with Were Gonna Live Forever for the stacks. But if the Killer really wants to hit the same survivor who's the most vulnerable then they deserve a BT hit.
Not sure what to say about SWF because I've came across it loads of times, getting bodyblocked etc and it is annoying, i've also had 4ks alot against SWF. If it is such a big issue i'd make the maximum queue with friends at 2 and make a ranked mode for 4 swf or something. But last thing this game needs to do is split it's playerbase up.
The whole matchmaking change i dont care about, end of the day i just want to have fun playing this game, I get 0 joy out of sweatting for a pip at rank 1 and not getting anything for it.
Not sure where i insulted killers for running Ruin? The only thing i said was i bet most Killers struggled if it got cleansed straight away...also i'm pretty sure it was 80% of Killers in general because they removed it for newer Survivors to find the game more enjoyable which from a business POV is a smart choice, when i came into this game, every game was Hex Ruin and Thanataphobia or Dying Light, it's boring and put me off playing it. Lery's is such a good map now, I couldn't tell you the last time i escaped on that map because it genuinely is balanced and they'll work on more maps to be balanced like this.
I feel like you're just trying to make me look like an idiot or something. But everything i said in my post i stand by. Killers need to stop moaning and just get on with the game, "i'm doing behaviour a favor by playing Killer"...seriously...then all I see is DS/BT nerf questions too...k let's just let all the survivor perks get nerfed because we want to make it much easier on a killer :) okay maybe 60 seconds is a bit much for DS but even then slugging stops that player from doing anything anyways so it's easily counterable.
Killers just need to try and have fun instead of feeling like the game owes you free kills.

@Cheeki_Beaky_Bird said:
I almost exclusively play killer. Easily 90+% of my games are killer. Despite this, my survivor rank is somehow higher than my Killer Rank. I've never pulled off a single DS (brought it a couple times, never even got the skillcheck so decided not to bother again). The response to almost every sticky situation is "Hold M1 on something". You don't have to be good to win as a survivor.
The issues, realistically, are that:
1) Ranking is broken. Survivors are able to rank up without escaping, while killers can often safety or even depip (especially Plague, who can almost never get gold in chaser or malicious) on a 4k.
2) There are more good survivors than good killers. A quick look at the survivors a green rank plays against in 20 games will show you that about a third of them or more are red ranks - players they should only rarely play against, and even than only one at a time. There are no high ranked killers for these high ranked survivors to play against so they're being placed against mediocre/casual players.
3) Survivors are much more able to bring powerful tools every game. The upcoming change to addons will somewhat change this, but survivors get to keep items on an escape, where killers guarantee they're losing everything they bring. Survivors also have a good chance of gaining an item if they didn't bring one, or upgrading one if they brought a poor one. Keys that can unlock hatch (which, if used when 1 player died and 1 gen is left, does more than 4 BNPs at the same time, instantly, 8 BNPs if 2 gens are left and 2 players died), come in pink AND purple rarities, and can be pulled DURING A GAME from chests. They're also much harder to see coming than Moris (the obvious "secret" offering, where the only secret other than a Mori is ACTIVELY DETRIMENTAL to the killer.)
Realistic solutions to these problems are:
1) Reworking the chaser and malicious emblems to not punish killers for using their powers, or going against survivors who didn't heal enough
2) Giving some overall buffs to killers, or nerfs to generator speeds, so as to bring the average skill levels for survivors and killers closer together
3) Follow through with the planned changes to addons, reduce the spawned chests to 2, and remove dull keys from future bloodwebs.
I really don't think Gen speeds should be the answer to balance the game better for killer, since making this post I have been playing a lot of Killer games and can actually understand peoples replies on here abit better, regardless I haven't wanted to come on here to complain to the devs about why they should be "thanking me" for playing killer...I don't get why Killer mains are being so annoyed just move on to the next game, I'll have a game where I'll have a SWF team and then the next game it's a EZ 4k.
I have been getting gen rushed a lot easier lately but that's only due to certain maps being bigger or having better loops than others so I don't think gen speeds need nerfed the maps are in desperate need of a rework. Look at the new lerys, tbh i couldn't tell you the last time i escaped on that map because of how better balanced it is for the killer!
If I could change anything on this game it would be to remove generators alltogether, nothing bores me more as killer or survivor than the generator mechanic behind this game. There should be more interesting solutions for the survivors to escape without it feeling so time based for both the killer and survivor if that makes sense.

SWF is more of the issue but the game is even unbalanced against 4 "good" solo queue players, SWF just exacerbates the issue even more.
How do you accept the issue but are also confused why they come to the forums to complain? When there's a balance problem with the game people will complain in order to bring it to the devs attention to try and get things fixed. That seems like a pretty normal scenario to me.
"there's so many killers who can just one shot a survivor."
There isn't that many, and most of them have substantial requirements to do so.
"Mori without even hooking them."
I have no idea what you're talking about here, this literally isn't a thing. The only thing allowing this is a DH at 5 token...if the team really left it up for that long they misplayed hard. Not to mention that is an extremely niche scenario that rarely ever happens. This isn't even worth bringing up.
"It's like all killers just expect to get 4 kills easy every game."
I don't get why people like to default to this made up scenario. This is not what anyone is asking for at all. Especially seeing as you already admitted yourself that there are indeed balance issues which makes their complaint valid. How does a valid complaint lead to "killers just expect to get 4 kills easy every game"? I don't see how that is the logical conclusion we come to based on the information we have agreed on here.
"Toxic survivor behaviour begins with the killer...from my POV anyways."
I disagree entirely. You could have zero campers/tunnelers etc and it would still be happening. They play toxic because they are bored with the base game because it is currently too easy as survivor and they're trying to make the game more entertaining. They are able to get away with it because they know they are the power role and have the extra time to goof around because they aren't the ones on the tight time clock, the killer is.
Michael Myers has a addon that allows you to Mori before even hooking a survivor

According to you everything is fine so why do we even need map reworks or adjustments on the sizes? Killers are just lazy and want everything easy right? You contradict yourself, you ignore the way BT/DS get used most of the time and I doubt that you ever played both sides.
The fact that ranks need to be hidden, so you can feel good about winning against some person that has 10hrs in the game says alot about the state of the game itself.
Because it obvious we need map reworks for killers who are too slow. The killer i played wasn't too slow...so how exactly have i contradicted myself? I never said everything was fine...I said I can manage, it's obvious most killers can't. Ranks are getting hidden for the reason of they mean nothing in the game, i been a rank 1 survivor for ages and i've died to green, purple & red rank killers, the game isn't all about surviving and it aint all about killing. If killers can't just have fun getting in a chase and in some cases one shot downing and mori'n a survivor then don't play the game. The game isn't catered to one side. SWF sure is an issue, but I never seen it a issue when i played as Freddy, Demo & Michael...if I die after being chased by the killer for a while, i'm fine with it because the chases make this game fun not sitting doing gens and killers should enjoy getting at least 1 or 2 kills a game than worrying about getting 4 kills...

I play both sides at rank 1 as well and I disagree with almost all of this.
"The main issue with this game is the map sizes. It takes someone like doc a good 30/40 seconds if not more to get across coldwin...map reworks are coming."
This is the only thing I agree with.
Most those complaints people have are pretty valid complaints that have been an issue for years. Not sure why you'd call them killer complaints either, it's pretty easy even as a survivor to see how busted those perks are with the games current balance.
You blame killers for camping/tunneling and point to them as the source of the problem and the need for those perks. In reality the blame is on the games balance team for making those things needed to win in many scenarios. Against "good" survivors and on a bad map (which is the majority of them) you aren't winning playing completely "fair", if you did the survivors were bad. There is obviously an exception to this on some of the top tier killers, but it holds true for the vast majority of the killer roster.
I shouldn't feel like the power role on survivor.
I agree and hope DS and maybe even BT get a little nerf. It wouldn't bother me. The only time i run these perks is if i have like 5 games in a row of solo queuing being targeted off the hook. I think the main reason behind the complaints is SWF. I duo queue at most, i hate 4 man queuing. Even when i duo queue i don't communicate with the player. But I get how easy it can be to get ran by a single survivor while 3 others do gens. I just don't see why people come on the forums to complain about it so much...and act like they're a victim, there's so many killers who can just one shot a survivor. Mori without even hooking them. It's like all killers just expect to get 4 kills easy every game. Toxic survivor behaviour begins with the killer...from my POV anyways.

By the holy mother of all that is straw-manning.
I understand that certain players take their complaints a bit too far, but you have a terrible understanding of how killer is played.
The DS complaints... DS is used so much because of killers who are lazy and just want an easy kill. While I get that survivors would feel less reluctant to use DS if they weren't getting tunneled every game, I hate running DS it's boring as hell. But sadly I gotta force myself to run it because killers feel like it's fun to instantly down and target a somewhat exposed survivor. You only got yourselves to blame for the high usage of DS.DS is used because it is one of the most powerful survivor perks in the game, not because killers want easy kills. It doesn't matter if you down a survivor the moment they get off the hook, or 59 seconds later by randomly finding them again, DS will still reward the survivor with a free escape and head start because the killer did their job correctly while the survivor messed up and got rewarded.
I understand that being tunneled and camped can be frustrating, but claiming that only bad killers do that while also complaining about being targeted because you are exposed, (out of position and easier to down), is a double standard.
Ruin... Oh boy I would hate to see how much you guys sucked back when the old ruin was a thing and it got cleansed... Probably a instant DC...why do you guys try and rely on a gen slow down totem to get kills. Devour Hope is a great alternative...if you want to run a hex or even Noed. But there's some good builds out there, make your killer stronger with perks instead of trying to slow the game down.Ruin was only useful against low-mid tier skill survivors. High skill survivors were already able to hit skill checks consistently and thus rarely bothered cleansing it unless they happened to find it's, (usually terrible), spawn placement.
Do not try to group up all killers as salty losers who DC the moment their totem is cleansed. It's factually inaccurate and just furthers the divide between killer and survivor communities. I could just as easily say that all survivors DC the moment they are downed. Some do, but certainly not all.
As for slowing down gens, they get done extremely fast. Playing any killer that cannot reliably down survivors within a minute means that for every chase you finally complete there will be at least 1 completed gen, usually more. You should be complaining about the objectives, not the builds that killers use to counter the speed at which they are completed.
BT is the same scenario to camping, tunneling killers...we wouldn't run it if killers didn't camp :).I've said this once and I'll say it again, tunneling and camping are both perfectly valid strategies that can each be easily countered by just doing gens. You'll more than likely bust out all 5 if you work together before the person the killer is targeting is killed. Also, you seem to have forgotten that BT allows saves directly in the killer's face even if they aren't camping. Another example of bias.
I love when I get a good killer, has good perks... Doesn't tunnel and still gets 3/4 kills. All I seem to get is lazy killers...gen pressure is good."I like it when the killer follows the rule set that I have made and still somehow wins even though it puts them at an objective disadvantage than if they were to play optionally." This is just unreasonable.
The main issue with this game is the map sizes. It takes someone like doc a good 30/40 seconds if not more to get across coldwin...map reworks are coming.Something we agree on!
Overall, you have a severe bias and fail to understand the basics of playing killer.
Please do not claim that every killer is automatically wrong because they don't play the way you like.
Don't understand playing killer? I was rank 1 for a long time...I only stopped because i got bored of it. I never tunneled or camped once as killer so i'm not sure why it is used so much.
How about instead of people moaning on the forums about apparently how OP survivor perks are, figure out new ways to play...most killers who are moaning are the ones who think that they have to get 4 Kills EVERY game for it to be fair to the killer. Face IT, people will die, people will live, but to moan because survivors run perks that counter certain killer playstyles is annoying. I could run Detectives Hunch, Inner Strength, Bond & Iron Will. I would still escape easily. No need to run "OP" perks.
It's funny how i never see any survivors complain as much on the forums as killers do. I'm quite happy for killers to run Noed, Third Seal, Devour hope. All fun totems and make it more difficult to escape. If most killers just played for fun instead of trying to sweat and pip (for no reason because ranks are pointless)...they would have WAY less to complain about.
The only thing I will say is bad for killers is the map sizes, which they are working on anyways. Plus how weak base game killers are like Wraith and Trapper. I get it. I'm sure they're working on a fix, but i don't get why killers are moaning so much and acting like they're doing the devs a favour...

I agree.
Rework some of the, and there are simply are no other words to describe them, USELESS perks. There's so many already. Stop adding new perks and rework ######### killers like clown and ######### perks.
Aren't cosmetics/rift milking us enough as is?
Exactly they're making enough from Stranger things skins as it is.
Can't think of many useless perks atm being 3am for me but perks like Technician, Babysitter, Second Wind, Fixiated..they all need worked on.
Sadly it looks like they haven't got their priorities straight and focusing on making new DLC while the game is full of errors is shooting themselves in the foot.

If only it worked like that.
Take it this way, it's like asking an artist to take up programming.
Does this make sense?
Not really. The Dlc team will have map designers, concept artists aswell as programmers and 3D animators which would all be able to help on reworks.
This runs on the unreal engine. Probably the best and easiest engine for games to run on, I've got experience with it and it's really not hard to create maps and stuff with that engine.

I can't speak for console, but on PC the game is not dieing, but instead is at an all time peak of average daily players (aka being the most successful since its release). And that trend keeps going upwards. So Behaviour's business model of luring new players in with new content, and removing "frustrating" elements and then milking them dry works better than trying to hold on the veteran playerbase by improving the current state of the game.
And every veteran player who just complains on the forums while still buying stuff in the store, and keep playing the game, actually further enforces this model.
The console playerbase (on xbox anyways) is terrible. We can't play Demogorgon without ridiculous frame drops. Sloppy butcher freezes the game and exhaustion perks like SB. It's like playing a beta its that bad on xbox. I play on the one x aswell.
I played on PC last week on the PTB it was so smooth and nice to play. Sadly I can't swamp to PC because of the progress.
I'm not a veteran player either I enjoy playing this game and will continue to do so regardless I just hope theyre going to have their priorities sorted.

No not really happening.
It's different teams working on different things.
The game can progress with the design team working on new chapters while another team does balancing etc etc.
But the game is in desperate need of reworks on maps. They did a great job with Learys. Not sure how they work but they should be drawing man power from the dlc team to get these reworks out faster.

Would like to ask Xbox players if DBD ever came with the consoles "free monthly games". It did in PS4 by sep/2018 and then the player base got how it is now.
About the OP, well, bringing new content is a thing to keep this game going without getting out of new things, wich can attract new players and keep old ones.
Buuuuuuut... i do feel they need to slow down the frequency of new DLC down to 2 by year, for a time, and use this "free time" to work more on bugs. Buuuuuut (again), balancing and bug correction teams are different from new DLC teams, i think. So, maybe stopping for a while in bringing DLCs will make no diference, since the DLCs team will keep doing DLC. Imo.
We have the game on gamepass which pretty much everyone has on xbox.
As for new content reworking maps and balancing would pull alot of people back to the game who have played it previously.
Getting new people to a game that's 4 years old and full of bugs, new content or not unless its a big license like stranger things no one is going to be interested really.
Streamers as such are big influences on people playing and buying games. If viewers see a streamer having a bad time because of errors and all kinds of issues then they're going to be losing out on new players that way aswell.

Just to be blunt, consoles come out with a new generation every 3 or 4 years. When you buy the next generation console your current one will likely stop being supported.
If Behavior wants to keep you guys on board before the next Switch or PS5 or whatever comes out, they need crossplay.
I have the game on PC as well. If I could cross save I would play on PC because Xbox is so painful. The fact they have the game on Game pass and it has such a low player base is a joke. But only got themselves to blame for not delivering what the game needs.

If my MM exp as a red rank survivor is indicative of anything killers are dropping like flies on PC as well.
Because the only incentive to play killer now is Bp's I think if you get found by the killer on the game it should be incredibly difficult to escape unscathed. I think it's very unbalanced in some aspect for killers. Killers have to run Devour Hope or builds like that but even by the time you get a hook 2 gens are done. It takes too long to get someone in a chase, it is fun on the survivors end though running the killer round like a scooby doo cartoon.. Imo every killer needs anti looping abilities and gain bloodlust much quicker. Survivors are too fast at finding pallets and window loops and abusing them for the rest to do gens. Sadly this is hard to balance so let's hope they figure a new system out.

Oh I think they know, but don’t care. They’re choosing the quick cash grab instead of the long term success of their game. I say it over and over, when DBD is done a handful of people will move on to great jobs and the rest will be left with this mess on their resume. Try applying to a “real,” game company and tell them the same bug lasted over a year but they should hire you to program their gsme.
That would be really sad to see this game die because as frustrating as it is its the only game I enjoy playing vs all the typical battle royale games we keep getting. We will see if they're still passionate about this game, the fact that it is one of the most watched games on twitch and that it's so poorly developed is laughable and embarrassing for them.
-
@johnmwarner said:
Me too, but they’ll keep churning out money grabbing cash grabs til the game is done
I just don't get how they think it's effective or efficient to waste players time with broken lobbies, surely they should know their playerbase is dieing because of slow queue times and terrible balancing. The errors are what get me though, I shouldn't have to restart my game because my friend can't ready up or vice-versa. Heck if they're making us wait in lobbies they should pimp them out abit so we can have something cool to look at while we wait. We see a campfire...woo. Why not a fullblown survivor camp, tents, have all your charms you've unlocked on show, make it more customizable and fun for people.

I have to agree on Xbox it's becoming more and more of a ghost town for Killers. Since Dedicated Servers were taken off all I get now is DC'ing Survivors/Killers or lobby dodging. Spending 30 minutes trying to get a match as survivor is not a fun way to spend my time, and trying to play killer is just getting more and more frustrating by the day. I really do hope they start making serious balance changes asap!
I think i might have played against you before on Xbox haha. Just goes to show how shallow the playerbase is on there. I think as soon as this new killer/survivor is dropped they need to focus on maybe cross-play with consoles to expand the playerbase. This game is lobby simulator sadly it never used to be. But i'm happy to re-queue to find a half decent ping game than play on those horrible dedicated servers again, that was unplayable.
