I have managed to do frame perfect dead hards by accident and I do not use any cheats. So I wouldn't use that as a rule of thumb for cheaters. I know auto dead hard exists, but a random frame perfect DH is bound to happen.

    It's about consistency...

If you constantly see a frame perfect DH, then something is clearly up, but if you only see it once in a blue moon, they it's fine. Because of this, I always advise recording your matches in case you see something odd (plus you get the added bonus of being able to share any sick clips you hit).

Yea it doesn't make sense to have a kill switch for "game breaking issues" yet not actually use it to prevent game breaking issues. I'm guessing it's still not known enough to cause wide-spread issues but I hope they disable her or fix the exploit soon because it'll only become more common.

Maybe it's because "Sadako is an A tier killer"... she is so powerful that she apparently bypasses any killswitch.

    Sadako Is Clearly A Tier.PNG

  • To be honest, it really seems like BHVR forgot they could killswitch issues with the game. I mean they did it with Clown but like every other issue has just been left in the gutter. Phasing into survivors on hook and survivors not being able to unhook would surely be enough of a reason to disable her, but I guess not.

Yea maybe one day. I only like his old revving animation mainly due to how scary it made him look lol. And also I miss his old cooldown animation

To be honest, whenever I see that animation, I kind of just think Hillbilly is just going to go bowling using his chainsaw for the ball. Could just be me though lol.

I think his current animation he doesn’t move like he has a limp. They stated they changed this animation to make billy and other characters look like they are sliding when they are moving. But who knows

It's a slight stagger in his step but nothing insanely noticeable, I still feel like all of his animations need to be redone, especially the mori.

Actually, scratch that, everything about Billy needs to be redone, since he is kind of in a horrible state imo, especially when compared to modern DBD map design.

I believe the official statement by the devs is that it’s not a skilled play if you don’t escape.

I need this quote mounted on my wall... like those awful inspiration quotes that people put in their homes, the "Live, Laugh, Love" signs, but instead it's just this quote.

  • I dont know why, I just dont see it as fitting him. He walks around with a limp for a reason, but him walking normally has always felt unfitting... even in his mori animation.

Alert shows killers aura, any means shows downed pallet auras, i think alert is def better

Again, I stated some stuff in the post I linked for a reason.

    1. Any Means Necessary will show who is in chase regardless if a pallet is broken or not. If a pallet is broken, the aura is gone, which is good against stealth killers since their auras wouldnt otherwise be revealed by Alert.
    2. Any Means Necessary has the ability to reset pallets for added utility.
  • @Aurelle said:

Alert is fine as it is. It's a good information perk.

I made a post about Alert, and personally, I feel like it is competing with Any Means Necessary in terms of information. Both have their ups and downs, but I feel like Alert can use a tiny bit of a buff to make it compete a bit better with AMN.

i don't listen to music while playing killer because you do need to be aware of survivor's noises at all times, but i usually have some music playing in the background at low volume when playing Surv, mainly...

    • Here i Go Again - Whitesnake
    • Sleeping Goliath - Espinas: Sunbreak Edition (not what it's actually called but i don't care) - Capcom Sound Team
    • Endless Maze - Jungle: Sunbreak Edition - Capcom Sound Team
    • Dung Defender - Christopher Larkin

and whatever else YT recommendations give me really

Good ole Christopher Larkin's music. Man the Hollow Knight OST does slap, I have a lot of the songs in my Spotify playlist.

Yeah like i can throw on spine chill and put sandstorm on loop while playing survivor, but sometimes sounds don't even work properly as killer and they're kinda important as it is without being drowned out by a tasty jam.

For survivors I normal listen to:

~ Howling (Lupus Nocte), Hold The Night (Foret De Vin), Skeletons (Easy Life), Lost In The Rhythm (Jamie Berry), Sandblast (Fox Stevenson), Martini On The Run (Jules Gaia), Marble Machine (Wintergatan)

Just a lot of variety music.

  • @Akumakaji said:

I wouldn't dream about listening to even the slightest whisper outside of my killer gameplay. Chasing survivors is very demanding and you need to be able to notice the most faint of moans or cracking of dirt. The chase music is so loud that I at least can't afford to listen to some music besides the game ^^

I only turn off the music when the game demands it, I dont listen it to it the entire time for obvious reasons.

    1. The statistics everyone keeps using for the killrates is across all MMR ranges. The truth is BHVR has data that makes them unhappy about the balance of the game and they decided the buff killer, this could becomes of high MMR, or maybe because they felt like killer wasnt in a good spot, we dont really know, only BHVR does. So even if the killrates are 50%-60% before the update, it isnt really accurate to BHVR's vision for the game, rather people like it or not.
    2. They have released basekit mechanics to try and discourage tunneling, and while not the best, I dont think people realize how impact the upcoming 10 seconds of 10% Haste and Endurance is. Some people have been going crazy over it on both sides, a lot for and opposing it. I want to remind people how much tunneling actually influences killrates, if no killer tunneled at all, the killrates would be much higher, so mechanics that discourage easy ways to get hooks and kills are going to have more impact on killrates.
    3. Both of the previous things being said, we dont really have an accurate way of tracking killrates after the update. We dont know what is going on at BHVR's end. We dont know how much survivors giving up on hook that plagued the beginning of the update actually influences killrates. Killrates dont even take into account stuff like hackers or killers farming. There is a lot of inaccuracy in the data and the fact that the basis for "the game isnt balanced" is focused around old data at that doesnt help the case at all.
    4. One thing I will admit is that queue times are horrible, but here is the thing, my queue times have always been inconsistent. Some days survivor has faster queues, some days killer has faster queues. Time of day is also important. There are a lot of factors in play, nothing is cut and dry. But I do think there have been survivors that quit or moved the killer, since I do think a lot of the changes made are in favor of the killer as a role, and not a lot of people are happy about that.
  • @CluelessWanderer said:

If they really cared about camping they'd get rid of hook grabs.

Mhm, hook grabs make no sense. But in all fairness they make just as much sense as the awful grab validation which more often than not messes you up since it can deny hits entirely. This game does have a lot of issues with it tbh.

  • I dont really use the forms insanely often, so I dont really have that many people that I constantly recognize, but Id say:

~ C3 Tooth - I love their art, they also seem like a nice person. I also just love how youll go into replies and see art posted by them to sort of meme or make light of certain things, I just like it a lot.

~ Sluzzy - This is entirely because I know that if Im having a bad day, I can look at a Sluzzy post and instantly feel more comfortable with my game skill... Im sure everyone has seen a Sluzzy post so yall can kind of catch the drift with this. Also it's really hard to tell if their posts are bait or real, but there is something about it that I just really enjoy.

There are a few honorable mentions but I wont dive too much into it since my main gripes with them is the few "Us VS Them" posts/comments youll see, I mean I guess it can be contradictory considering I put Sluzzy, but at least it's fun to read their posts.

This is were people get it wrong. The 1 shouldn't be stronger than the 4. The 1 should be on the same level as the 4. If the 1 is stronger than that's an imbalanced game. This notion that the 1 should be stronger needs to stop.

Well, realistically, in a 1v4 like DbD, having everyone to an equal power will just lead to a stalemate more than anything. I feel as if the 1 needs to be slightly stronger, the 4 with coordination can overcome the 1 but the 1 still has the strength to be able to do stuff. But with certain situations it becomes a lot more complex, as when you shift the power too much in one direction, or have things way too equal/even, it leads to situations where either the 1 or 4 feels hopeless.

Overall it's not as simple as people make it out to be, there is a lot of nuance with this type of stuff. It's not as simple as the 1 being stronger, the same strength, or weaker than the 4, because of said nuance.

This video literally showcases it and explains it was apart of the Rift. Plus I literally have the same outfit, I got it through the Rift, I remember it vividly. Sometimes Rift outfits come into the item shop to be purchased by others once the Rift expires, that's why the item shop has a lot of recolored cosmetics.

All it takes is a good search to find it.

  • That's a Rift skin, you probably obtained it for free from a Rift a long time ago or something and never realized it.

  • Im sure it's worth a shot, might be better to wait for the new chapter release first however since queue times typically even out a bit during then.

Being hit after an unhook and and instantly going down to just be put back on the hook is no different than just staying on the hook really.

It forces a hook stage that shouldnt be forced at the time.

If Im on hook being camped, reach second stage, get unhooked and immediately downed and hooked, then Im just dead. If I were being camped in that same situation, I would still be dead, but it would take another 60 seconds of being on the hook before I die, wasting the killer's time, giving the survivors more time to do generators and heal.

There is a very clear difference.

  • @Cameragosha said:

    Obviously devs is survivor sided.

Old thanatophobia before patch 6.1.0 should return.

Now thanatophobia is useless it get over nerfed , hopefully in future it will get changed.

The developers arent survivor sided, nor are they killer sided, they are just trying the balance the game the way they see fit. Granted, they dont always do a good job, they are only human and are prone to making mistakes and such.

  • @OrangeBear said:

Basekit BT stops the killer from hitting the unhook survivor immediately that's the camping part of BT that it prevents.

That would still be tunneling since an unhook occurred, not camping...

  • @Karth said:

Why do you guys all of a sudden started (proxy)camping and tunneling so much more during the latest patch? Is it strategy? Is it easy? Is it fun?

I just try to understand why, I never tunnel when I'm playing killer and I cannot complain at my killrates at all.

EDIT: cept for those annoying clicky clickys that just ask for it to get tunneled out of the game

The game design rewards camping and tunneling way too much. It's not really an issue with the players, it's just moreso the game for enabling the players to do so, but hey, at least 10 second basekit BT and 10% Haste is coming in the next update.

  • @DeleteSWF said:

Solo survivors don't need buffs of any kind.

They need to start repairing gens more and stop playing badly. Low survival rates are entirely due to poor tactical decisions, cockiness and entitlement.

Yes but a lot of the poor tactical decision making comes from the lack of communication and information. There is a reason why SWFs typically do better than SoloQ (with a nearly 30% higher escape rate). They can share information when it is needed, that SoloQ would otherwise not have. People have made countless suggestions that BHVR just ignores. HUD UI to show what people are doing, basekit Kindred, etc; simple quality of life to make the game a lot better.

Plus having SoloQ up to the level of SWF means that BHVR can start to balance the game a lot more accordingly, youll get more difficult teams, but those killers stuck in the gutter from how weak they are might actually be made useful for once, and we all know killers like Sadako really need it.

Then again, with a name like "Delete SWF", I dont know what to expect, and I dont mean that in a rude way. People should be allowed to play with their friends in a game, they shouldnt remove an entire feature because you dislike facing strong teams, which is what your name would imply.

  • This shouldnt be in the bug reporting section, this should be in the feedback section instead.

I love how all the killer mains in this thread are like: Bamboozle? Perfectly fine perk, just adapt, survivors!

But god forbid there were a similar perk for survivors, even if limited to a timer or being an exhaustion perk. It's only fine if survivors have to deal with dumb mechanics, like blocking windows whenever you want or Endfury, but killers should not have to deal with any such annoying mechanics.

You know what I want? a Franklins equivalent for survivors, when used (maybe when stunning a killer with a pallet) it makes them drop their addons, which they have to pick up. It also removes charges from addons and makes them get disabled if they are on the ground too much. I mean, when people complained about Franklins I saw a killer just say "just adapt and learn to play without items", well then I think killers should learn to play without addons.

    Excellent point!

You're the first person to raise that question, so I hadn't thought about it until now.

If a perk like this were to exist, I suppose there would need to be an order of operations--one of the perks activates earlier than the other, preventing both from being used at the same time.

I agree with several other comments here, tho--multiple maps would need to be updated for this perk to exist. I'd sooner disconnect than walk back down the Myer's house stairs if this perk was used on that upstairs window.

There is actually something for that. The perf which is in the left most slot will have it's effect done before the perk in the right most slot. It's why you always want to put Soul Guard first then Unbreakable second, because if you put Unbreakable first, it will always use Unbreakable before Soul Guard even if a Hex is in play.

When you play killer main you are expecting a challenge of four survivors against one killer and it's crazy how they keep nerfing all these good perks because "KILLER MAINS" always crying about how op survivors' perks are but of course we don't talk about how killers got perks that block windows, gens, pallets, exit gates, and also have perks that stop you from healing teammates now that's OP

Both sides have stingy players that complain, it's not exclusive to a single side. People who play a lot of survivor will complain about killers, and people who play killer will play about survivors. It would be nice if both sides had some level of empathy but instead everyone wants to kick each other in the shins until someone bleeds. Im tired of the "Us VS Them" posts on the forums, for F sake.

Also killer perks are designed to be stronger than survivors perks by nature since it's 4 perks the killer can bring VS 16 perks the killer can bring. And while I know SoloQ doesnt have the luxury of coordination that SWFs have, survivor perks in general are meant to have large benefits when used in coordination.

However, of all things, I feel like the following is really needed in the current state of DbD:

    • SoloQ needs major quality of life, it's been years, it needs something, it has always had the worst end of the stick, even worse than killer has been.
    • And DS needs it's stun time increased to 5 seconds or have the animation of dropping the survivor reduced so the survivor can make more distance.

It's a solo queue thing, you generally can't rely on your teammates to do anything.

Youre still better off bringing any other healing perk or a medkit. Boon: Circle of Healing isnt too bad; Inner-Healing is my go to perk, plus you can run Overzealous with it.

Thank you for the Suffer or Slaughter challenge, which is super easy to do as a survivor and never forces me to play as a killer, because it's so easy nowadays to escape from the trial in solo q. I'm doing this challenge for the whole evening not because killers 4k every match, but because it's so fun that I DC every time so I can do this challenge over and over again!

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/UW8AUD6ECDWY/image.png

And send best wishes to your colleagues, who developed MMR system, it works so well that despite the fact that I escaped 0 times from the trials today, it keeps giving me killers that 4k again and again, so I can actually git gud!

    Thank you DBD team!

I swear they really need to redo the Emblem and Bloodpoint system, because maxing out Unbroken and Survival is the most annoying thing to do (not counting the Conspicuous Action bug when I say this, of course).

  • Because on some windows it would be insanely strong. Like the Myer's House top story window will require you to go out the hole in the back giving the survivor way too much distance. If the maps were designed with this perk in mind, I would 100% agree with it though, it wouldnt be that bad of an idea.

  • I really feel like they should add an icon for it, if they were to add basekit Kindred, like while someone is on hook, mist forms around the screen a bit and there is this eye icon with Entity tendrils around it at the top-center to indicate that you are seeing the survivor's aura because someone is hooked.

Idk, might just be me, but I feel like perks turning into basekit mechanics need to be glorified a bit or something, just something to make them seem way cooler than they actually are visually.

Realistically it doesnt make sense to hold the same mindset after all the changes. I know Billy use to be a top tier killer, but using it for a justification to force people into a playstyle when that killer has clearly been nerfed into the ground is just dumb. Especially when the killer is made worse by BHVR's overall map design; Garden of Joy, Eyrie of Crows, Haddonfield, and RPD are all painful experiences for Billy, but people sweep that under the rug Ig.

Legion and Plague was really unaffected so how was it not a slight nerf? BHVR made sure those killers would still be grossly oppressive.

All you really need is to have a single person healed against Legion to shut down Thanatophobia. Healing perks, and decent medkits still make Legion not too huge of a threat. Inner-Healing also is really good at shutting down Thanatophobia.

As for Plague, over-cleansing exists for a reason. Survivors can corrupt all fountains which causes them to reset, Plague gets Corrupt Purge but they only get it for 60 seconds (cannot be extended by addons unlike the Corrupt Purge obtained by fountains themselves). You shutdown Plague's usage of Thanatophobia and get rid of a lot of Corrupt Purge usages.

I know you might say "oh, but SoloQ doesnt have that coordination", but like, as soon as a single person cleanses, everyone else cleanses, it's for a reason ya know. You literally get an audio cue for when it happens, so you can tell when survivors are mass cleansing and when to join them.

  • I personally feel like the basekit Borrow Time duration should be increased to 10 seconds, and they should just rework Borrowed Time to be an anti-camping perk (I had the idea that whenever a generator is completed, your hook timer is paused for a duration, so it fits the name "Borrowed Time" in a more literal sense).

I know some people will say "but the unhooked person will just bodyblock the unhooker", which if they want to do that, you are within your own right to wait out the full 10 seconds and hit them afterwards, nobody is stopping you. I 100% have no issue with tunneling or being tunneled over bodyblocking with BT. If you arent being tunneled but are actively getting in the killer's way intentionally, you 100% deserve the consequences then.

Survivor winstreaks are dine with wrong rules. With same killer rules (-> anything less than 3 escapes) we wouldn't see barely any streaks in the double digits. Let alone 3 digits

They are done with the standards BHVR have set in place, BHVR themselves have seen the qualification for what does and doesnt count as a win. Qualifying what counts as a win is based on the MMR win and various rating conditions.

    For Killer

    0-1 Kills = Loss, Restart

    2 Kills = Tie, Restart

    3-4 Kills = Win, Continue

    For Survivor (SWF)

    0-1 Escapes = Loss, Restart

    2 Escapes = Tie, Restart

    3-4 Escapes = Win, Continue

    For Survivor (SoloQ)

    Death = Loss, Restart

    Escape = Win, Continue

  • I know for a fact that perk dependancy is 100% a thing for killer (and even survivor). Killers are running multiple slowdown, so survivors are bringing in generator speed-up (toolboxes, action speed bonus perks, etc) to counteract the slowdown. Overall it just feels awful to not run meta on either side, so they never really did change anything in terms of removing dependency for both sides.

The only thing the midchapter update did was "shake up the meta" which it hardly even did; killers bring slowdown, just as they did before, survivors bring all the generator speed-up and second chance perks they can muster, just like before. It just pushed us to different perks that ultimately have the same purpose.

  • Plague, in my opinion, has always been a rather balanced killer since there is a level of thinking between the killer and survivors as to counter and prevent their power.

Im not sure if you are aware, but Plague already has a mechanic where if all fountains are Corrupted Fountains, they all return to normal and Plague is given Corrupt Purge directly, this is done quite literally to make the killer and survivor manage fountains and coordinate to deny potential power usages (hence the SoloQ rule "dont cleanse unless someone starts to cleanse"). You can actually do this method to counter Thanatophobia.

The only thing I would change about Plague is fixing their Vile Purge validation for Console because it is horrendous.

In general, it is way more than 5%. Do look at the continuous winstreaks of killer mains and compare it to survivors usually losing.

Didnt Hens go on a 150+ winstreak? I mean their streak ended I believe but they are trying again to see how far they can push the streak.

Survivors are capable of going on long winstreaks, it's just insanely hard, and the same is said for the killer's end of things, long winstreaks are earned and fought for by both sides, not to mention that long winstreaks are stressful and you are bound to make mistakes, as a result that could lead to the streak ending leading to further stress.

It's not easy. It's not something to sit here and pretend like it's some cakewalk when it isnt.

Which killers? I can’t think of any killers—not a single one—where survivors constantly healing is somehow worse for them than survivors actually just completing gens. Survivors really waste a lot of time healing when they should just be on generators—injured or not…

    Twins.

The only time you can really pop off with your power is if people are injured. When Boon: Circle of Healing, or hell, even Boon: Exponential is up, your power is basically useless and you have literally no pressure on survivors. It's one of the reasons why I run Shattered Hope on Twins, but even then, sometimes it doesnt help as much as Id like it to.
