There's a good reason no one runs the iri addon that makes blink a 110 killer with 1 blink.
I personally think nobody uses it because:
- It's an Iridescent addon, and not really worthy of that placement. Compared to Nurse's basekit it is weaker, but easier to use.
- Consistency; because it is an Iridescent addon, you cannot consistent use it, it's just easier to learn the basekit since you dont have to rely on addons.
- There are just better addons; like increased Lunge Range on second blink.
-
I still use Hex: Ruin, I just slap on Surveillance and Jolt and turn my brain off since I have all the slowdown and information I need.

DBD would be in a better place if more people used Aftercare.
I think Aftercare could maybe use a buff to make it's proc condition a bit easier, but it's still a decent perk, I use it a bit.
-
I think they medkits themselves could honestly be changed, the addons are fine, at least in my opinion, but the new medkits seem way too similar to one another.
It also would be nice if the medkit addons were a bit more diverse as well. It would be nice to see "while your medkit has charges, you see the auras of all injured Survivors within 48-meters, altruistic healing speed is increased by 50%" or something.
TLDR; I think the potential is there, just the item is really boring now.
-
I think that maybe going for a unique set of Survivors should be incentivized more; maybe instead of role incentives, we can see Survivors and Killers get rewarded for making better or healthier plays.
Survivors should be rewarded for taking protection hits for teammates, rewarded for protecting teammates who are going to die, and rewarded heavily for progressing the objective. (Old Were Gonna Live Forever.)
Killers should be rewarded for hooking unique Survivors, using their powers effectively, and for handling chases well. (Old BBQ.)
Old We're Gonna Live Forever and BBQ enforced those ways of playing but players often felt restricted to using the perks since they would lose out on a lot of BP if they didnt use the perks, so I think this bonus should just become a basekit effect.

If the survivor perks stay universal, they all you get when you buy Steve and Nancy are........just Steve and Nancy.
Give them new perks.
I know it would require BHVR to create new perks which can take a long time but the perks that Steve, Demogorgan, and Nancy have are perfect for beginner players and solve a lot of the issues that beginners have.

honestly, i think it's great that old skins and cosmetics are coming back from old events and rifts. i started playing DBD in 2021, but i've never been that invested than i am now. it's been a few months since i began playing more seriously, even buying every single DLC to get all the characters, complete old tomes, and all. getting to know all the options from the store makes me want to dedicate myself even more, and i hope one day behaviour will bring back DECK THE TRIALS collection and both BEWITCHING BARISTA mikaela's skins 😅
I dont think most people even checked the dates on the thread, I posted this back in January... it's nearly a year old now lol.

In my experience, most people want both; nerfs to strong perks and buffs to weaker perks. Buffing weaker perks is great, but if you only buff perks to keep up with the most recent strong perks, you end up with power creep. You need a little bit of both to keep things in check.
They might sound very similar on paper, but buffs & nerfs aren't exactly interchangeable. They'll both end up with more perks becoming meta, but that's where the similarities stop. There's a limit to how strong perks can be before they become frustrating. People understandably don't like to feel like the main reason they lost was because the other person/people used strong perks, they want their skill to matter most. Buffing a bunch of other perks to that level doesn't make that problem go away, it just makes it feel like how well you played matters even less, meanwhile the build you bring matters more. Now instead of facing one perk that annoys you because it feels to strong, you're facing four.
I honestly think this is a good response.
It's not exactly about only buffing or nerfing, it's about doing a mix of both to try and balance out the positions/strengths/weaknesses of things.

I am not gaining any advantage. I am literally at a disadvantage on Autoheaven if I do not slightly change the contrast/brightness. I am not ruining the experience of anyone when I do this. I am not making everything more saturated or a lot brighter so I get blinded on Eyrie of Crows or Ormond. I do not brighten red hues to see scratches better.
I just do a very small alteration on 1 realm so that I am able to play the game normally and not guess it there is something coming towards me.
I will not just "stick to single player games" just because you think you can tell me what I am allowed to do and what not. I know very well how filters are seen by a lot of people. Which is exactly the reason why I keep it as minimal as possible, as I do not want an unfair advantage. I just don't want to have a disadvantage.
I feel like a lot of people use them for accessibility but are often just put in a negative light since there are people who used them for an advantage.
People who need stuff like filters to see stuff (i.e. colorblindness or visual impairments which cannot be catered to with BHVR's settings) should not be held back by people taking things too far.
Also I know people love to bring up "people on Console are at a disadvantage" but Consoles/TVs have visual settings to help people see better as well; most of the settings through Nvidia are stuff that can be changed on your Console/TV display settings... I should know this, Im a former Console player.

If you’re only seeing it in 1 of 20 matches is it really that big a deal? That means once out of 20 matches you may not have a good match. That’s not a bad record tbh. If I only got tunneled in 1 out of 20 matches I would never complain about tunneling ever and consider that a blessing. 🤣 Just saying.
I get your overall point that it’s not fun and that’s valid but every match in this game is not going to be fun. That’s just the nature of pvp and if your track record is dealing with this perk 1 in 20 then you’re in good shape.
Ive said this many times before, multiple things can be an issue. I think Tunneling should be addressed, Ive been an advocate for the game prioritizing Hooks over Kills for a long time.
Also Im not exactly sure if Background Player is balanced or not to be perfectly honest; I kind of feel as if it is slightly too much but only slightly, but then again I still havent played against it enough to formulate a proper opinion on it's balance yet.

I'm sorry, all this time I was under the illusion that survivors were supposed to use perks at their advantage, my bad!
This is all very comical.
You can go through my discussions and see that Ive pointed out MANY things on both sides that were just unhealthy for the game, saying "oh this one side isnt allowed to have anything good" is such a bad argument when Ive talked about both sides.
Heck, go through my discussions (and I mean actually go through stuff and not just stop at the first page) and youll see that Ive been an advocate that the game isnt really sided to a particular side and I firmly address issues on either side.
You can probably even just type in "Eruption" into the search bar and find the dozens of "nerf Eruption" threads I made back when it was OP.
-
I’m fine with Sprint Burst since it requires some micromanagement to use effectively.
Lithe is mildly annoying but fine in terms healthiness. Also it’s not as effective on certain maps (The Game) which helps balance it.
I wouldn’t be upset with them being meta, but when I play Survivor I’m just going to stick with Balanced Landing, especially with Hawkins being back.

Maybe its me, but a game shouldn't be balanced around such a small group of people
Color Blindness options are great because it does not effect balance what so ever
but making blood and scratch marks WAY easier to see is different
Borgo is an actual problem for everyone tho and needs to be changed
I have been saying this for years, but I think BHVR should add the ability to change the color of Aura Reading (both sides) and Scratchmarks.

This game has a lot of accessibility issues, BHVR has made significant improvements over the years but I feel as if a lot still needs to be addressed.

So they were using it, and you got a 2k. What's the problem exactly?
You are completely ignoring the point I was making.
It's not about winning or losing, it's the fact that this perk can consistently put the player into a lose/lose situation.
The only counterplay that exists is hitting the For The Buckle Up user but doing so puts you in an awful position still since both Survivors make distance and you are still denied a down/hook.
My problem is that there is no meaningful counterplay against it.
-
It depends.
Since in some cases if you throw the match too heavily by working the the Killer it can count as "not participating in normal gameplay", but there is also a lot of nuance to the topic as well, it most depends if you were reported for it and rather the DBD Moderators think it broke the rules or not.
I know most things are handled in a case-by-case basis since some things are against or not against the rules depending on the situation. Punishment is also case-by-case, very rarely do I see people get perma banned, I think the usual punishment is an ingame ban for a week or month.
Either way, I would always recommend going to the Information Center to reading up on the rules of the game.
-
Or just make the addon apply to more than just the initial infection?
0.2 seconds of Hindered isnt much, but having it only apply on the first hit just makes it really, really bad.

That's kinda the point, though. They didn't remove, gut, destroy, kill, or whatever word you might want to use, Circle of Healing.
It's a decent perk in solo queue and a great perk in SWF. In what universe is that removing content or lowering the pool of available options? It's a good perk, you'll get moderate use out of it. It's also good in specific builds; pair it with Overzealous for near-constant gen speed, for instance.
This is my point in microcosm. People aren't willing to accept that a perk can be less impactful than the literal strongest things in the game and still be 100% viable. Nobody wants to put any thought or effort into making use of the plethora of good options they have available to them and then complain about the supposed staleness of perk variety when it's completely on them.
I have been preaching this for years.
There are tons of amazing perks, the game isnt stale or restricting, the player is restricting themselves and making the game stale for themselves.
We have hundreds of perks, all allowing for different and diverse ways of playing, some are victims of power creep, of course, but frankly they still hold up rather well even today.
-
Reporting Killers for tunneling or camping and claiming it is harassment is false reporting.
Sending in repeated false reports gets your account blacklisted for a few days or weeks from the report system and your reports basically get sent into a void where BHVR does not look at them.
I think BHVR mentioned this a few years back or so, it's to prevent moderators from having their time wasted on false reports.
If you need to brush up on DBD's rules, you can check the Information Center listed on the top of the DBD Forum website, there are a few links that lead to the Forum and Ingame Rules.
-
Honestly I think we have a higher probability of seeing a Blighted Demogorgon over seeing a Blighted Bubba, mainly since I think license holders are focused more on keeping TCM interesting and appealing over anything DBD related.

The most useful of the combo is first chase of the match, simply make it works outside the first chase. But how? Because each perk alone is fine. I dont know about BU, but I dont want them to touch FTP
My point is that the justification that "this perk combo is healthy because Killers tunnel" is inherently flawed because people dont use this combo to prevent tunneling, they use it to undo the Killer's work and because it is a strong combo.
I literally just got done with a match where a SWF was using For The People + Buckle Up.
I never tunneled this match, yet half of the downs I got results in them getting a jail out of free card solely because of this perk combo. The idea that "Killers tunnel so it's fine to use it" does not apply here because I never tunneled, and the intent was to use the perk regardless if the Killer tunneled or not.
Worst part is that even if I went for the Mikaela, both Survivors can effectively just make free distance and I still get denied of a down/hook regardless; it feels awful to play against because you are put into lose/lose situations.
Also I think Buckle Up is solely the problem here. For The People is a good but niche perk, it does not need a nerf. Buckle Up does what Soul Guard and We're Gonna Live Forever does but has no cooldown or requirement like Safe Unhooks or Protection Hits, why use either perk when Buckle Up does the same thing but objectively better.
And frankly, I cant blame people for using the combo, it's strong, it's effective, and has limited counterplay that often puts the Killer into awful situations regardless.
-
@SOULWARRIOR71K said:
It’s great against tunneling too not just swfs. Until tunnel off hook is made less rewarding, this combo should stay as is.
And if the Killer doesnt tunnel and the Survivor still uses this combo?
"Because of X (problematic) is in the game, then Y (problematic) should also stay in the game" completely ignores the idea that either thing has a chance of not being present and should not be used for balancing (in my opinion).
Multiple things can be problematic, and they must be looked at independently of one another.

Can be pain unless you equipped Infectious or Lightborn.
Personally I think the main problem is not the perk itself but blind saves are much easier than before.
Im talking specifically about Pallet Saves with this perk, not so much about Flashlight Saves since I can look away/look at a wall.
-
While I think this can be an issue during the Endgame, it is often just best to leave that area so the anti-camp mechanic can kick in.
I think BHVR could honestly just remove the barrels there though, it makes the area wide enough to walk around the Killer but they also dont have to move the hook position either.
-
@GannTM said:
I haven’t really been affected by it that much tbh.
I mean I havent seen many people use it, I probably see it once every 20 matches or so, but anytime I go against it, it has consistently just been a horrible time.

@sizzlingmario4 said:
Just make the hex move to a different totem instead.
I think this is the best option, as the match progresses and hooks are sometimes just not available (rather it be sacrificing, sabotage, or perks), outright removing the ability to hook in a certain area just wont turn out good.
I think the best thing BHVR could do is have it so the Hex Totem moves to a different Dull Totem if it is within 40-meters of a Hooked Survivor.

Maybe something that improves his stealth would be good? Tinkerer? Dark Devotion, maybe?
Dark Devotion is pretty good, also the new Furtive Chase really fits into the Nemesis + Enduring playstyle I mentioned. Perks like BBQ and Gearhead can also be good if you manage your portals correctly.

Easy to play killers shouldn't be strong and hard to play killers shouldn't be weak
I would agree but rather something is easy or hard to play is really subjective.
Some people find Blight hard to play, but I find them easy. Meanwhile I find a Killer like Spirit hard to play (mainly because of a hearing impairment), but other people find them easy.
Balancing is not really a cut and dry thing and Ive learned that things are far more complicated than people make it out to be.

The large knife could be hinting towards Myers receiving a rework; there are many scenes where Myers just takes kitchenware and uses them as a weapon, and all the other knifes are held up like kitchenware.
Either that or it's a double teaser, maybe we're both right.

Its sad that the Trapper decided to troll you in end game after using such a noob perk. 🤦♂️
To be fair, newer players dont have access to much nor are they told much either.
Back in 2018, when I was new to the game, I thought hitting people on hook increased the pace of sacrifice progress, mainly because a friend told me that and it took me 50+ matches of being cussed out in the post-game to final understand that I was BMing without realizing it.
Not to say that this is the same kind of thing of course, some people might just BM because they were in a gaming environment where that is the norm, though I think resulting to insults over it is not a good example to set forth (not saying that you did, but moreso just saying that it's something we shouldnt do).

If anyone is refusing to admit or see how the nerfed version limited its use by a lot, opposed to being active at all times when injured, they're just trying to gaslight others into thinking it's not a big nerf so they stay silent. Exhaustion part doesn't mean much when the perk's work condition is to stay in deep wound.
You use Made For This in a chase; if you are in Deep Wounds, it means you are being chased. Being in Deep Wounds isnt not as much of an issue as people make it out to be since nobody is freaking out about Made For This value while a guy is repairing a Generator, it just isnt realistic.
Im talking from a build standpoint, the perk on it's own is objectively weaker, but you never saw Made For This by itself anyways; look at the current meta and it's nothing but Made For This + Hope OR Made For This + Dead Hard; I personally think nothing will realistically changed that much and the perk will retain a huge amount of strength when looking at a complete perk build.
-
@XshyguyX said:
Now you have to use it with other perks for it to activate or... be lucky going against a killer that puts you in deep wound for it to activate.
The perk has become situational in order for it to be used. Tell me how often you get put in deep wound? Is it common? Nope. Not really.
It happens against specific killers. That's about it. Maybe some addons. The perk has been gutted compared to what it was.
I get put into Deep Wounds a decent bit already because Killers often try to tunnel me off the hook; it's just a thing that happens.
As I mentioned before, you will have to use perks with it to get better value, but the perks that are going to be used are already perks that were used with MFT anyways. Seeing MFT + Dead Hard already insanely common anyways.

Wow, 9 hrs of charcoal drawings 😮that is some dedication.
The timing is interesting because the last time Stranger Things was in fortnite store was 2019. And that's also when they did the chapter in dead by daylight. So to me it kinda seems like after 4 yrs stranger things is interested in doing gaming collabs again.
9 Hours of Charcoal Drawings because I had to finish up some stuff for my Fabrics Studies (College ~ ArtEd Degree); Ive been working ahead to get this stuff done since Im going to be out of my classes Tuesday to get my Observation Hours done for the EPP and EdTPA, I already notified my professors in advance and they said that I wont have to worry about being marked absent as long as I get my stuff done.
This entire week has been: wake up, enter art studio, work on art all day, leave art studio, eat, sleep, repeat. College is exhausting sometimes, but tis' is life sometimes. I have to build up studio discipline to really improve myself as an artist and by proxy create a better environment for teaching others how to make art, it's merely just apart of the process.
I know this is off-topic from the original post, just art and education are things Im passionate about.
