  • Don't tunnel.... if you can help it. Especially if they are "bad". Ease up. You get more points, so do they. Everyone has a little more fun.

Idk. When I play I tend to go for points more than for kills. Prolong tye obviously shorter easy games bc "bad"

    Just me.

  • I hate em. Blurry screen. Slow down. Every clown player spams the bottles and you stay slow and can't see. It's awful.

Hate the killer. Hate his laugh. Hate everything about it. Trash.

  • Pc player. I play mouse and keyboard with killer. Controller with survivor.

First 3 years I played ps4. Last few years pc. Pc is better by far with response times.

I honestly don't know. I played one game and he felt unplayable. His knives are unbearably slow and his main event is a joke that is no different from throwing regular knives. His gameplay is also even more boring and unengaging than before. Also the game heavily neglects to actually explain what a combo is as its tied to add-ons but I very much doubt anyone will actually notice it in game.

It's the speed I think. Yes he walks faster but he throws slow as hell, and now it's 2 more. His main event comes faster but it's short and very limited.

I was excited to see they worked him. I want to play him but just can't. He just feels so slow and clunky. I had times where the short main event shined but it was situational at best.

It sucks. I like him. His lore. His look. But playing him feels like your dragging around an anchor. And if any swf or any coordinated team is in the match it feels like your always one step behind.

Maybe it's his power in general. Idk. I can't pin point it. It just isn't fun. That's all I know. And it's a shame. I really want to like him

Tunneling is the most effective way to kill survivors. It's heavily incentivised both by the overall pace of the game and the current meta. Survivors use no protection against tunneling and killers use that weakness, while also progressing their objective way faster and more efficient than normal. It's not toxic, it's natural.

With that being said, I'm not happy about this either. I would love to go back to Decisive Strike being a popular and very strong (against pretty much all killers) perk because then a killer that doesn't tunnel wouldn't be punished by the survivor perks working more effectively against them than if they did tunnel. I would take a 7 seconds DS stun over what we have. Then I'd only have to deal with 12 / 16 perks, if I don't tunnel. Problem is, then it'd be abused. More than the old version already was.

There is no incentive not to tunnel. At all. But there are a million different reasons to tunnel. I don't see this as an issue with killer players but as an issue with the game. Survivors play as efficient as they can too, because that is how you win. A killer trying to win shouldn't be frowned upon. It's more that this is the way you win as killer.

This. Bring back that extra second or two from desisive. Tunneling feels crappy when it happens to you. I hate it. I don't get to play, I lose points pip and time.

When I have a streak of matches where I'm getting tunneled I swap over to killer or just atop playing. It's not fun. It ruins the game.

I get why it's done but it's a game killer for survivors. Wish devs would think of something

  • Turrets are the thing you use with him tho. If all 4 are placing them consistently, he has a hard time.

It doesn't always knock him out of crawler mode, but it's definitely a henderance.

  • I use it alot. It just depends on the killer your going against. When it works its good

Helps get distance. However it only works 50% of the time.if that. Therefore won't be used.

  • It's my favorite game. But it's hard to tell anyone new to play it because it's so harsh for new players and it takes patience and dedication to improve as well as luck.

Alot of people don't take that kind of commitment to something new. DBD is a double edged sword.

It's great but it has alot of unfair stressful mechanics in it as well. Most new players have to really WANT to play this to stick with long enough to get better.

I've had at least 3 friends buy this game, dl it, and play it 4 or 5 matches and quit out of frustration for one reason or another.

I love it, but I no longer recommend it to people

  • Nvr played him on those. Don't wanna know

  • He's not that bad once you realize he's just a pinball. It's the killers that hit you mid-animation, during vaults when you can't do anything about it that's frustrating.

Xenos tail. Pyramid head with range add ons. Etc that are the real frustrating culprit.

  • Quick re-release. I'm sure they'll re work it. For now tho. Weeeeeeeee killers.

  • Seriously? Do you not remember the headache this map was?

If they rework it... sure. But as it was? No way. It was a terrible map.

Like I said game 2.0. With way less safe pallets.

I mean, the Map is horrible for both sides. This was always the case.

I dont really understand how so many people could have the feeling of missing it. Especially because there were loads of complaints before it got removed.

(I dont like it, but it is better that the content is back in the game. So I see it positive)

This. Always was a terrible map.

  • Shoot me for saying this I guess.....

But leave it be. Its not that bad. Yeah you feel it against m1 killers but it's not that bad...

  • Idk why people are so excited about Hawkins. Do yall remember how awful the pallet layout was?

How so many pallets had zero mind games? It was the game 2.0 for killers.

  • Does this mean Hawkins is back?

I get put into Deep Wounds a decent bit already because Killers often try to tunnel me off the hook; it's just a thing that happens.

As I mentioned before, you will have to use perks with it to get better value, but the perks that are going to be used are already perks that were used with MFT anyways. Seeing MFT + Dead Hard already insanely common anyways.

Mft and DH are it. As of now. It can't be used while exhausted. So mft wasn't combined with other OP perks.

It was mostly used with end game builds like hope. Which to me was fine bc the games basically over with anyway. That's where MFT shined when combining it.

Now it has to be used with other perks or be situational

  • Now you have to use it with other perks for it to activate or... be lucky going against a killer that puts you in deep wound for it to activate.

The perk has become situational in order for it to be used. Tell me how often you get put in deep wound? Is it common? Nope. Not really.

It happens against specific killers. That's about it. Maybe some addons. The perk has been gutted compared to what it was.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I expected them to destroy Made For This instead of making reasonable changes to it. But they exceeded my expectations, the Perk is now completely useless.

Oh wow. They just completely gut the perk!? I figured they would tweak it but this???? This completely destroyed it.

Any time a perk becomes situational like this it immediately becomes obsolete. Nobody wants to take up a perk slot at the off chance something very specific happens. What kind of payout is that,

The fack you have to be in deep wound to have the 3% deletes this perk. It's rare to go into deep wound while already injured.

What's the point of taking all this time to create a perk, implement the thing, just to gut it, make it situational, and re-release it and Nobody use it?

How many times have we seen this happen? It's counter productive. It serves no purpose other than frustrating the players and accidentally rewarding opposite side.

This is disappointing. Seems like every time I find a perk I enjoy using it gets stripped down and I always revert back to the same 5 meta perks on either side.

This right here is why only 5% of perks are used on either side.

  • Is it? This is a question to ask. Is it honestly a placebo effect? 100% Idk. It could be I guess. I could be inside my own head but one wonders.

After years. I do feel a different game.

    I hate it.

It's a total waste of time as a killer when gens can be finished in less than a min by a single survivor to get a hate buff that is halfway gone by the time you use the portal and for horribly placed haunts to slightly slow down survivors. It really makes me wonder if BHVR actually tests this stuff or not. Or just don't care as long as survivors benefit the most. I been playing less of the game as a result.

It's good if everyone focused on event objectives. I noticed that if we all open the portal a ton we all get so many bloodpoints

Unfortunately not everyone does this. Alot don't in fact. They miss out on points by not doing it

  • @Hex_Llama said:

I let go in two situations:

    • We're down to 2 survivors & there's no chance that we're both going to escape if my teammate tries to save me
    • I somehow ended up in a match with red ping & I can't even play

I've been tempted to let go just because I'm not having fun or it's clear that we're going to lose, but I don't let myself do that and because I don't let myself do that, I've had the chance to see how often the match starts off really bad but then the rest of it plays out normally and I get to do enough that it feels worthwhile.

Now, when I feel like letting go out of frustration, I remind myself of all of those other times.

(I have never been tempted to let go because my teammates aren't coming to save me; in that case I try to live to spite them.)

Fair point. I just don't see why anyone would frown upon a justified DOH. Is all.

  • @pseudechis said:

Well if people can rationalize that one minute of game time makes no difference to the team then I'm sure they can also accept that the same minute of game time makes lil difference to their overall experience, so why not stay in game for as long as possible.

You might get saved and then get a lucky out but you never know if you never try and the quitter mentality is strong with some of the replies here.

I wouldn't call it toxic but there is something kinda lame about the "Its not going my way I quit" mentality.

There's a difference between "it's not going my way" and "this games a bust" playing solo. Sometimes that's just how it plays out. And DOH to save several minutes for a bust match in my opinion is fine.

However there's a fine lone between the two.

  • I see Alien and Sm quite alotnin game. As for streamers no I don't know any who main them. Sorry.

I see knight in game the least. I get my ass chomped by SM Now tho. Bc I don't see her alot

  • Play how you want. Tune it all out. No matter what you do, there's going to be someone who's upset. Who cares?

Lately I've been going in as slinger going for good 1v1 shots. Not caring about anything else and I've been having a blast.

Win. Lose. 3k 1k 4k. Who cares? Play how you want to play man. The real players of this game won't rage at you in the end. Have fun. Tune the rest out.

  • Yeah I agree. It definitely is odd. I went against a Billy who didn't use his chainsaw once. Baby Billy. Match went as expected.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/395076/is-this-a-wrong-way-of-thinking

You intentionally killed yourself on hook to get out the match as fast as possible. As far as i'm concerned i would report you for it. I don't know if it is bannable. But it should be and harshly. In fact, if i had my way, i would permanently ban people who did this too often.

If you want out of the match, take the L and the DC penalty and let your team have a bot.

The times I DOH is circumstantial. I don't just do it bc I'm mad, or don't get my way. I do this when the matches are a bust. As in you gage the situation and know you're not getting saved or your team is messing around and not doing literally anything. Not playing the game.

That's when I do it. Bc I'd rather move on and play an actual match. I see nothing wrong with it.

I can understand not accepting it when survivors are just mad they got downed etc. That's not what I'm taking about.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

When they released a teaser trailer for the twins. I thought that was the Wendigo from Until Dawn.

Until dawn Windigo. Sam is the survivor. The cabin and surrounding area is the map.

I'm not a fan of it, but I get it and I'm also guilty of it. Matchmaking is often terrible to the point that games are 10 minute cutscenes.

Yeah. To me my time is valuable. It takes minutes to get a match going. Sometimes quite a few minutes.

It's frustrating when playing solo and you have a team that's to afraid to do anything and you find yourself doing all the saves and the only one doing gens.

If my entire team isn't playing the game I tend to just move on, especially if I go into struggle my first hook, there's 4 or 5 gens and multiple people are down and I see nobody still coming to save me.

I'd rather just DOH and try to move on

Wouldn't you all like this as a variety in weather? I think it would be scary as hell having Ormond at night and seeing Myers in Tier 1 when lightning strikes. I'm surprised this isn't a thing in a horror game 🤔

Yes. Would be fun. A thunderstorm effects sounds too. That would be crazy.

  • @Caiman said:

It's an ambitious event and I appreciate that. I think it requires going too far out of your way from the basic gameplay to engage with, for somewhat okay BP rewards, but it's fun if you don't care about the usual objectives. The new Halloween cosmetics are good too, the Void costumes are cool.

Making a shop with unique event currency is a neat idea, though waiting for the next page of the event tome to open to earn more has been dull.

Tying a Halloween item to buying Auric Cells is scummy.

Yeah it really is fun. I'm also waiting. I feel like they shouldn't have separated the tomes so far apart. Idk. I'm waiting. The points are amazing if you focus mostly on event objectives over winning

My issue, gen rushing. Survivors who plow through matches in 3 minutes making it to where nobody wins

  • @jesterkind said:

I don't know about happy, because the new windows really are really obnoxious, but it's definitely a massive improvement from where it was before.

You're missing some things from your problems with pre-rework Haddonfield, namely the ridiculous fences that could loop for ages without a gap. Those are completely gone, which is itself a big improvement. The street is also more dangerous than before, which is both good for killer and provides a little more strategy for survivor.

Really, the problems with new Haddonfield begin and end with those windows, which I'd consider hugely easier to fix than what we had before. It's not perfect and still needs work, but it's definitely nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

This. Not great. But better than before.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Exactly why old DS needs to come back it was the only counter to a hardcore tunneling killer!

Well no. I hated that perk. Just like the camping mechanics they added, maybe they can explore some straight tunneling mechanics as well.

I'm all about fair gameplay. But we all know playing "fair" ruins killers matches. We need to fix that!

  • I got that playing killer as well. Don't know how. I guess I got lucky. Just focused on getting ghosts out as much as possible

  • @AssortedSorting said:

The addition of a zone that connects with the trial is novel for this game. I like the ambiance it provides, and I'm curious if Haunts will have any further implementation into the game. The Broken status effect on Survivors when Injured can act as a visual signal that a Survivor has entered The Void (and also gives an incentive for entering Healthy), item charges on releasing Haunts for Survivors can be nice for item builds (though I don't know how many charges it restores). And Haste+Undetectable on Killer through the event interaction is cool (but somewhat reliant on understanding where you exit the The Void).

But there are some things I don't like about the implementation of the event mechanics:

The layout of the Void could also be improved to give better clarity on where exiting portals will lead to in the Trial. Instead of a box, match the shape of the Void to its given map. And place identifiable landmarks (possibly just floating in the skybox) accordingly, so players can get a better understanding of their surroundings should they exit.

Even with the Haste effect upon interacting with the Unstable Rifts, the interaction itself is more M1 gameplay and feels as though it detracts a bit from the movement you used to reach that Unstable Rift point. I don't think there should be any interaction prompt for the Unstable Rifts, and the player coming into contact with the Void Rift should simply automatically add energy (if they have enough).

Exiting and Entering the Void is mildly annoying. The interaction prompt takes time and isn't well used in chase and feels clunky from the Killer perspective (always slashing at it). I think it would be beneficial to make entering/exiting the void simply be based on walking into the center of the Portal with near instant teleportation. (If you want to add a cooldown, have the portal itself destabilize for a couple seconds.)

Unstable rifts you deposit energy into don't remain, so there is no mark where a portal will open (for you or others). I think a better user experience would be to create an "engorged rift" that signifies that's where a portal will develop when energy is deposited (into other Rifts).

The Portal generation seems like it could be improved. When the Void is opened, no new Portals can be opened. However, it would be nice if there was player agency on creation of additional portals once they have entered The Void, such that for Killer their exit options can be more strategic. It doesn't have to be totally open-ended where they could open a new portal, but it would be nice if instead of releasing the Haunts, you could tether them to a point in the Trial, using them as a new portal.

Even if you have a full bar of energy, you can't deposit it all into one unstable rift, there is a minimum number of unstable rifts that have to be interacted with before they open. I don't like this. It would be nice to be able to perform interactions with an "engorged rift" to open The Void from a single point. Such that in the event that gameplay has necessitated your full interaction for a while, you don't have to spend time running around the map interacting with Rifts if others haven't.

Then there's the Haunts. Not sure what the translucent Haunts in the Trial are for. Surprised you can't run into them to collect more void energy. And the friendly Haunts that you spawn always seem to spawn on the opposite side of the map (that I've seen so far).

The haunts do seem to spawn on the opposite side of the map. I try to do as much of the event objectives as I can and release as many ghosts as I can per match to get the added bloodpoints.

Many matches don't allow it though if the team isn't all doing the same thing. I do notice not alot of survivors go for the spawned ghosts as much as I'd hoped.

This is either because they don't understand it enough to do so or they are more focused on the match itself.

I hardly see killers interact with the fragments either.

  • Yeah my game just crashed too. Same thing. Server crashed. My internet is solid as well. Is it because of the event?

  • @UndeddJester said:

Anyone else just breaking off of survivors mid chase to smash demonic pumpkins and occassionally just going for a wander through the void because raisins?

If you want to win, ignore the event... that's probably sound advice for all events going forward. If you wanna have a laugh... jump in a blue tornado. I might even sit in the void permanently one game and slap anyone who comes in, like an angry farmer kicking the local children kids out of his crop field :D

    This is the right attitude

  • There is cross progression between the two. However if what you are asking is can you join your account between the two?

I'm not sure if we'd get another woods map. I get we don't have a jungle as a map but, we have Shelter Woods and Mother's Dwelling which are perfect environments which fit the predator vibes.

No. Legit jungle. I'll drop my wallet the moment they introduce all three from the movie. Hands down.

  • I'm all for survivors having endurance and speed perks. I'm all for killers having tracking and slow down perks. We all agree the chase is the best part of the game.

Killers shouldn't be punished so hard for sticking to a chase, nor should survivors. The game should encourage diversity and chasing. It doesn't. That's the problem.

  • Predator would only be good with him Arnold and the jungle map

  • I've been playing solo all 6 years of playing with the exception of a few swf games randomly a handful of times over the years with family friends and even my daughters.

I prefer it honestly. Yeah it's way more fun with friends but I like the solitude. When matches get stupid bc of survivors throwing I just swap to killer.

However, yes solo is hard. The game almost demands swf. Yet coordinated swf teams drives killers away. Tis a conundrum

  • I dont mind them making good money. It keeps the content going. I want them to make good money and for this game to thrive.

However share the love. Give back to the community.

  • Won't have that from me. Only time I purposely make noise is when I'm drawing the killer to a trap I've set at gens. But usually it's only once or twice.

Doesn't Elon Musk have asie as well?

  • Haven't played her yet. I've played against it tho. Was decently fun. The lack of terror radius gets to you. Had a few jump scares.

  • Same issue for me. Us it bc I'm still an applicant?

  • Guess you have to claim them within 3 hours? I had to leave after the 2 hour mark. Came back around 8pm. It let me claim the sweater initially but said processing when I refreshed the page.

Opened the game and I got the charm and hags arm but no sweater.
