glad to see a nice post, the feed was just clouded with killers whining about op snowmen😂
Agree.
To the OP: Love that sweater! Don't have it yet. 😄
Edit- I have it now! :)

MMR just being crappy as usual.
-
Doesn't really matter to me, just get the paid subscription if you want it.
-
I'm sorry, but no. Sometimes you get disconnected for reasons that are out of your control.
-
Unfortunately, this happens on both sides. I think people need to remember that not everyone is toxic. Most people just want to enjoy the game... I've met so many great people during this event (this is the most fun I've had in a while).
-
I've only escaped once through the exit as a snowman. Unfortunately, you can't see it after you've escaped.

@Hannacia said:
People should stop taking this game so seriously. The snowmen are cute and funny. I play both sides so i know it can be frustrating for killers to lose 1 hit but just try to have fun with it.
There will be sweaty survivors that will abuse the snowmen sure and there will be sweaty killers that try to get their 4k no matter what and deny peoples fun, but if you go against me as a survivor i demand we have a snowman race at the end!
As a survivor im just having fun with the things and dancing around not caring if i die. So my tip for you all is to stop taking the game so damn seriously. Have fun! Make your own fun! Have a laugh! Stop caring about being sweaty and must 4king all the time and survivors stop caring if you live and or die.
Exactly! Most people seem to be enjoying it, though. It's just a few loud people on the forums that don't like it. I've had so much fun playing as killer and survivor during this event. I have a lot of funny screenshots, haha!
-
You know killers can enjoy it too, right?

That's so weird. Mornings are 90 seconds on killer, at least 5-10 minutes on survivor (I've had queues of almost 20 minutes). Peak is more like 10-30 seconds on killer, 2-5 minutes on survivor.
Probably depends on where you live. I've never experienced survivor queues that long. It's usually instant during the day and 3-4 minutes at night. Killer is usually around 5-7 minutes during the day and instant at night.

Survivors are just as whiney. Most people that play one side cry all the time. It’s not fair to single out one side.
I disagree. Survivors cry too, but I see it a lot more from killers.

The event is awesome! The best one we've had in a long time. You seriously need to stop crying (killers are seriously the whiniest part of this community). I've had fun as survivor and killer.

I personally love the updated maps. I'm excited for the Haddonfield and swamp updates!

Why do you let something so trivial bother you? Letting other people live rent free in your head is silly.
Go grab a drink...use the restroom...watch a YT video...
Seriously - stop letting the inane actions of a few bother you so much in an online game - it serves no purpose.
I don’t get it either...

It's hilarious how quick the survivors mains immediately troll threads bringing concern to how survivors can be so toxic to other players.
Bringing silly survivor rule book arguments when all killers can do is progress the game with their actions.
What does tea bagging do at the gates? It needlessly extends the game. Until the killer comes to them and be trolled.
What does clicking do? Nothing it does not progress or extend the game, it's just there to annoy.
Tunnelling progresses the game.
Camping also progresses the game.
Slugging is the only method for killer to be 'toxic' but you will die over time and requires all players to be slugged. Else then it loops back to survivors being malicious again and not picking people up.
The survivors are in the complete POWER ROLE in terms of toxic behaviour.
Pig and GF can t-bag... Killers can constantly smack survivors on hook as well. Let's not forget watching the slugged survivors bleed out because killer won't hook them. Killers can be just as toxic.

Exactly... it's not like crouching up and down is a bannable offense. I mean, I hate it more than anything when Killers hit me on the hook, nod or shake their head repeatedly and stand over my body for four minutes until I die on the ground... but none of those things are actually bannable.
Teabagging has existed in multiplayer games since their beginnings, and people in other games (usually) don't lose their minds over it--I think the issue here is that people take it so personally. It seems like many Killers feel like they "deserve" to succeed at what they are doing, so when Survivors instead succeed against them and then flaunt their victory they don't handle it well (at all).
I personally don't give the Killer crouches unless the Killer has been doing an actual negative action in the video game, such as hard tunnelling at 5 gens or facecamping teammates. And even then, I still don't do it every time (even though most of my games involve either hard tunnelling or facecamping). But I still have the right to do so if I want to... it's not "toxic", it's just bad manners. Same as the Killer hitting Survivors on the hook or shaking their head repeatedly. It's just BM. "Toxicity" is being abusive in endgame chat or sending hateful messages to players/commenting negativity on their Steam profiles, not pressing CTRL repeatedly in a video game.
That doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see people being a little more civil in the game, because (like I said already) I do hate being hit repeatedly on the hook or having my time wasted by being left on the ground for four minutes. However, Survivors will continue to crouch spam and Killers will continue to harrass Survivors on the hook because people react to it, and that's just how multiplayer competitive games work.
This is pretty much how I feel as well. I'm not saying people should behave this way, but I'm honestly baffled that people get so upset over it. That's why these toxic people do it.

I do. Not once have I ever felt the need to crouch besides maybe dodging a ranged attack... that I wouldn't need to dodge if I walked left, right, or stood near the edge of the gate.
You argue for nothing.
Seriously?

Oh please, spare me. If you act dumb at the exit gate you deserve to lose, don't wanna get hit by a huntress hatchet? Stand next to the damn edge. This would change nothing gameplay wise and you know it.
Do you even play survivor?

It's so funny watching people madly defend BM like their lives depend on it
If it was taken out of the game it would simply be better, there is no con to doing so besides jackasses not being able to act like stupid pricks anymore. Only one group suffers because of it and NO ONE should care about that group.
It’s not gonna happen. Crouching is very important in this game and they aren’t going to change it because some people get upset. It’s a game. You guys should not be playing these types of games if little things like t-bagging upsets you. No, I don’t do it myself... but I’m not going to let that stuff bother me.

The sad thing, if you are actually being serious, is that your genuine response to people being unpleasant is, rather than people should try to not be unpleasant, people should stay away from activities/areas/communities which they might otherwise enjoy because they should have to be able to bear the people being unpleasant.
Feels like you are shifting the blame to the wrong side.
It's not likely to change. Crouching is needed in this game, so t-bagging probably isn't going anywhere. If someone is getting this upset about it, then it's time to move on. Maybe play offline games or something. It's just ridiculous.

People overreact like always. I've only seen it twice since release, lol.

I started gaming on arcade machines and playing chess on ancient green and black monitors.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2683834#Comment_2683834
You're strawmanning.
In the context of what we are discussing, there is no difference between yelling a slur at someone and deliberately belching in their face (following your own example).
In both cases, you are acting in a deliberately nasty manner to make someone else unhappy for your own personal enjoyment.
That is the long and short of it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2683863#Comment_2683863
The core issue is that toxicity propagates outwards.
Someone BMs me in games 1 and 2, so I go into games 3 through 10 out to hurt people. Which gives them a miserable experience, leading them to be BM - and on it goes, ad infinitum.
Tit for tat is one of the most powerful human responses.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2683943#Comment_2683943
Honestly, I'm inclined not to believe you - because your conduct on the forums (ranging from being disingenuously contrarian to deliberate, Sluzzy-esque flamebaiting minus the self parody) does indicate either a tendency towards extracting enjoyment from annoying people or a blistering lack of self awareness. Not trying to be mean, just saying what I've observed. There is a reason why a lot of people lose their temper with you, Iron.
That said...this is true of a lot of people who engage in toxic behavior. They aren't even really aware of it anymore - which is why a warning system can be so effective at letting them know 'hey, you are spoiling things for a lot of people - knock it off'.
And see - that's the thing. It's not a matter of being 'offended' (lets not bring that culture war crap into this) - it's a matter of sportsmanship. Having a decent, sportsmanlike community or at least building your game towards encouraging this is what determines whether you end up as League of Legends or Smite.
But I'm always amazed at how much effort people will spend shifting the blame...rather than just mannering up.
I've actually suggested something closer to the Overwatch 'endorsement' system, where you'd be able to give good, non-toxic opponent some sort of reward.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2683996#Comment_2683996
You're...either totally missing or deliberately trying to twist what Sherbert was trying to say.
Let me see if I can paraphrase here:
Just because something happens in an online game and is almost possible to completely prevent does not mean that you shouldn't bother trying - because both hacking and toxicity make your game a lot less enjoyable for a ton of people.
It's a non-issue. I can't believe people get upset at a video game character bouncing up and down... Like I've already said before- I don't care what strangers think about me. It's completely fine if you don't believe me. People who get hurt so easily shouldn't play online games.

It doesn't for me? I don't care if there's a hacker in my game. It's so rare it barely happens. And again, it's in every game. Legit if you dislike hackers, try single player offline games. See I can be dismissive about issues that bother you but don't affect me. Fun, huh? I'd MUCH rather deal with hackers every 5 or so matches over tbagging children every game. Hackers exist in every game so if you expect people to just deal with BM I don't see why you shouldn't be expected to deal with hackers especially when it hasn't affected me at all as I never see them. Your posts issue is you basically are lacking empathy and are incapable of seeing why for some reason. Don't expect anyone to have empathy for your issues in return is all.
Not the same thing.
-
This is something I already knew and have been saying for a long time.
-
@SunsetSherbet said:

I don't really care if some hacker flies around my matches, doesn't make the hacker issue okay. If people can't handle hackers, they shouldn't be playing online games. Can't name one without them.
That is a different issue. Hacking is cheating and ruins the entire game. Not the same.
-
@StarLost said:
Yup.
I very recently quit the game, primarily because I ran into incredibly BM survivor groups that eventually got under my skin.
I'm not just talking about the obnoxious teabag/flicky flicky types - I'm talking about full TTV SWFs with a smurfed down MMR who will 99% the last gen, stall the match out indefinitely with sabos, flashlights and perks and then report you (when you finally AFK out) for 'non-participation'.
That said - judging by the responses these threads always get, there are a lot of survivor players who derive their enjoyment from making killer players miserable. These same players will turn around and tell you that it's actually your fault for being miserable, that 'this is just the internet, man up' and other such tidbits of wisdom.
I've had multiple groups tell me in postgame that their primary goal is to get killer players to uninstall. I even had one saying that he hopes he manages to give someone a seizure with a flashlight macro.
These are the people you are dealing with here - and you may as well try to dig holes in water.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2680315#Comment_2680315
I'm...oddly unsurprised to see you defending ingame toxicity.
And no. The blame for acting like this is on the chuds trying to spoil another player's experience by gloating on them (which is essentially disrespecting the effort they put in) - not the people who have their experiences spoiled.
I don't care if you've got an armadillo hide - this crap wears you down. If it doesn't, it just makes you numb (which isn't a good thing either).
You may never fix all ingame toxicity, but you can damned well fix a lot of it. The League of Legends example is the best one I can think of - one of the most poisonous communities of all time. Once Tribunal was introduced, something like 80% of the toxic players reformed after a simple 'you've been reported in a lot of games recently, shape up or you'll get banned' warning.
Doesn't wear me down at all. I just don't care what some stranger thinks of me. Let them t-bag and flashlight click all they want. I personally never do anything toxic as killer or survivor. That's just not how I like to play. If someone gets that offended over a game, then they shouldn't be playing (especially online games).
-
Yeah. It’s really not that hard to get kills. Some people just want easy kills every game. They really don’t want to work for it. These forums are a joke.

My point was that I prefer to actually loop, but certain killers make that very hard to do... so I have to just hold W. Very boring.

How is holding W at the right time so much less fun than repeatedly going around in a circle against someone like ghostface until dropping a pallet more fun? Also if you hold W against the Artist at the wrong time you just guve her a free hit.
I find trying to mind game the killer (at certain loops) super fun. It's more fun for killer as well because I can sometimes mind-game them resulting in an injure/down. It's way more unfun (for both sides) when survivors run in a straight-line holding W and pre drop every pallet.

@IronKnight55 That's you. Others react differently. Especially if they care about what they're doing. It's why some people can just shrug off being told to F off when doing something, while another will get pissed.

Nope. I play both sides equally. 🤷♂️
Edit- When have I said I don't use perks? I've only ever said I don't use addons because I like the extra challange and it feels more rewarding. I also don't 4K every game. No you didn't, but I'm not going to spend another hour going around in circles with you again.
Just understand that when people are frustrated and making balance suggestions, popping into their threads and just negating everything without trying even slightly to defend this negation, all you are doing is derailing them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yX_1gJ_51M&ab_channel=ThatKidFromSpace23
Going into a thread and giving my opinion on the topic being discussed isn't derailing it. If you or anyone else has a problem with my posts, then feel free to ignore them.
-
It can be both sometimes. Killers that suck at injuring/downing survivors are likely to camp/tunnel. I've seen this a lot. Also some good players will do this because they have a better chance at winning when it's a 3v1.
-

Shrug. That's on you then. Just remember - it's fine to be wrong, but when you stubbornly stick to your guns despite people spelling out in great detail why you are wrong and your only response is 'no u' - then you really are just embarrassing yourself. And this is the case whenever anyone tries to have a discussion with you.
Your constant, ever changing 'x is fine, I play that killer' responses really do not contribute anything to a discussion besides derailing it.
Is that your intention?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2679511#Comment_2679511
Because it's entirely possible to really like something, but also point out it's flaws and give feedback on how to fix them.
Naturally, this is the internet - so any feedback you agree with is amazing and if the devs don't implement it immediately they clearly don't care about their game, and any feedback you disagree with is whining and should probably just get people permabanned.
I already explained that in the post above.
-
No. He is fine now.

@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2679488#Comment_2679488
And I was trying to explain the reason.
Killers have a lot of legitimate gripes. The role is stressful, and a big part of that stress comes from some areas of this game that are poorly designed, outdated or imbalanced. Combine that with how BM survivors generally are, and you get one role that is becoming increasingly frustrated. They then come to the forums to express that frustration and suggest ways to improve things.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2679494#Comment_2679494
Aren't you the guy that pops up in basically every thread and goes 'no, x killer is totally fine, I main that killer trust me'?
Just...stop.
When one side of your game is incredibly unhappy with how things are, then it's usually an indication that something needs to change.
Part of that change is going to be balance related. Part of that change is going to be moderating this community and getting rid of the chuds.
No, I usually only say that when I get accused of being a noob survivor main by all the salty killers on this forum. I am allowed to post as long as I'm not breaking the rules and I will continue to do so.

Yep. A lot of killers just want much easier games. This is also why they complain about MMR so much. Killer isn't that hard (unless you get a VERY good SWF team). It's kinda funny seeing all these threads at this point, though. Very entertaing to read.
