Blight’s addons are the problem, not his basekit. Artist? I feel like she shouldn’t be able to injure survivors at loops without being swarmed. It can put survivors in lose/lose situations. I feel like a slight nerf is needed,

I disagree. The quickscope was BS and they should make his current state get stronger as compensation.
Absolutely agree. I wouldn’t mind if they buffed him in other ways, but that quickscope shouldn’t have even been in the game at all. It was busted.

Every killer that had a range attack gave you a warning that they were going to strike, Huntress, Demo, Pyramid head, trickster, nemesis. Slinger had none he could chain and down you by the time huntress raised her hatchet. These people need to stop that’s bad game design. Yes it’s strong but that doesn’t excuse bad game design. Yes he should have gotten buffs to compensate but everyone treats him like he was the best killer when in reality he was the most unfun and flawed killer
100% agree. Well said.

Whenever a killer gets nerfed people usually overreact and say that the devs killed the killer (then they switch to a different one)... She's still a really good killer.

Not really, considering the fact that SB actually takes skill to use.

Bruh people have been saying the perk was OP for years with good reason and that was before hit validation when it could only reliably be used for distance. There is a reason it's seen in pretty much every single game and its not because its just a fairly strong perk
Just because some people say it's OP doesn't make it true. It's a balanced perk.

Dude you have too many last posts. The truth is survivor can't run if they want to use SB in correct time, and it would waste lots of time. DH is the most convenient ex perk with most powerful ability. I doubt people who claim DH is fine or good survivor can mess up blah blah blah use their legs to play the game, oh and without brain. Please use brain to play, or you can watch high MMR clips to learn.....with brain.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but k...

When used correctly. That takes a bad killer, since you have to walk in chase for 40 seconds, and incredibly skillful timing on the survivors side with no lag. SB does give more distance, but it's also EARNED.
With DH it's just a free pallet or window with nothing the killer can do about it. Having to be injured doesn't mean anything either since DH can only be used in chases. You will always get injured in chases. As for it being "easy" to mess up, it's literally just aiming the center of your screen at where you want to go. There is no messing up there unless you don't know how far DH goes, which you'll know the very first time you use it.
SB is earned, but DH isn't? Weird. lol

@Askin said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2711876#Comment_2711876
DH gives you distance on command though, any time you want to use it, with no downside. Every other exhaustion perk has a downside, and this is usually because the survivor has to go out of their way to use it effectively. SB forces the player using it to waste time walking or 99% it and never do gens. BL requires a drop. Head On requires coordination. Smash Hit requires a stun. And Overcome requires you to be healed for every usage. DH, on the other hand, doesn't have any meaningful requirements. It extends chases more than any other perk when used by a skilled survivor, and only requires a normal chase, nothing more.
To add insult to injury, DH is one of the perks that widen the gap between killer viability. It does next to nothing against the S tier killers, but is game changing against the bad killers.
I'd say SB can extend chases much longer when used correctly. It can save you from even being injured and you can most likely make it to a safe area before the killer can get a hit. DH requires you to be injured and it's pretty easy to mess up. Even good survivors can mess it up. I believe it's fine.

A super niche perk, that only ever works if a flashlight is in play.
Let me guess, you wanna blind bully the killer but you can't so your complaining about it.
God I play survivor for god knows how long and this is the dumbest thing I heard in months. (Well weeks)
Let the damn killers have it, it's already bad enough that you guys are increasing the queue times for survivors.
I agree that complaining about this perk is ridiculous, but blind bullying? Are you serious? I have to ask.. lol

I'd be very surprised if the devs can nerf DH without making it trash. It's a very tricky perk.

I don't know what you'd change. Problem though is any change will probably kill dead hard.
Which will cause every survivor to run Sprint Burst or Overcome instead and killers will be complaining about them.
Yep. Just about any changes will kill it. I guess that's what a lot of people want, though.

If they can't fix the validation issues, remove the i-frames. It should be a dodge, not a defacto third health state.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2712130#Comment_2712130
Distance is annoying, but it's more annoying when it futzes with powers or gives you fake hits that cause you to lose survivors.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2712070#Comment_2712070
120s imho.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2712063#Comment_2712063
No it isn't. It was arguably overpowered before the 'fix' (see: buff) and now it's so omnipresent that you almost never don't see it. If BHVR cannot fix the validation issues, then it's going to need to be balanced around them.
DH and CoH are the two abilities that basically every Fog Whisperer and honest player agrees are problematic right now.
I just don't see DH as a problem. CoH? I think it needs a nerf so that it doesn't stack with other perks and medkits. Maybe more is needed, but that's the nerf I would give it.

Don't you think defending survivors only because of the things killers post is quite... odd? I mean, come on, both sides complain equally as much.
Dead Hard does need a nerf that addresses the issue with the perk itself. It extends chases in an unfair manner, and can also grant another health state.
You've told me that the devs know more than us, which is why you justified Wraith's nerf. So if the devs ever nerf Dead Hard while addressing the issue with the perk, would you agree with the devs?
No, I don't think it's odd. I play both sides, so some of these nerfs would affect me as well. Of course, I'm going to give my opinion on it. I just think killers whine much more. I've also defended stuff on the killer side. Would I agree with the devs? I wouldn't like it, but I'd admit I was wrong. They have more data than we do. I can only say how I feel about the perk based on my games.

Nope, not that I've noticed. I get a stable 60 fps.

There is nothing crazy about wanting DH nerfed, I see it in every single game on at least 3, if not all 4 survivors. That is an experience shared by a large portion of the population. BhVR has gone on the record about having a problem with seeing the same perks overused. In this case not only is it too strong, it's also so buggy that it screws over several killers even more than usual.
You don't play killer in any meaningful sense of the notion. Otherwise, you'd understand that DH is a problem. Hence, troll at best, bald-faced liar at worst.
I've stayed in red ranks as killer and I've been playing since 2017. I'm not a god killer, but I'm decent. I just don't have any problems with DH and I'm sure I'm not the only one. "Otherwise, you'd understand that DH is a problem. Hence, troll at best, bald-faced liar at worst."- This is exactly the kind of stuff that I'm talking about on here. 🙄

Dead hard is not meant to give you a free distance. The concept of this tragic perk is meant only to avoid a damage.
Oh, I know it was not meant to be used that way. I'm only saying it doesn't need a nerf.

That actually doesn't make me a troll. I do defend survivors a lot, but that's because of all the crazy things killers post here daily, lol. Anyways, I play killer as well. Things definitely need improving on both sides and I've said this a lot.

Of course you'd say that. We know your posts. But it is indeed. A problem.
Sure other perks offer distance(except head on) But no other perks erase your mistake after messing up. No other perks once used. Offers you any more help in chase. Offers you distance you don't deserve.
There's a reason you see 4 dead hards every game basically. Be gone with your gross survivor/trolling posts. You clearly have no interest in conversations that involve fairness for both sides.
No, it isn't. I wouldn't really say it erases mistakes... People just purposely play a bit riskier when they use the perk. Other perks give distance as well. "Gross survivor/trolling posts"- LOL! This doesn't surprise me... I guess I'm a troll because I don't agree with all the "omg, poor killers! Nerf every survivor perk into the ground because killer is sooo weak!" posts/threads. Killer isn't as bad as you guys say. Sorry, but it's true. I actually do want a balanced game. Let's start with perks that actually need it, though. ;)

@BrokenSouI said:

DH is absolutely fine. It's just that people get frustrated (doesn't mean something should get nerfed) and then come to the forums to complain. I don't like seeing gen defense perks every game. Does that mean they should be nerfed? Nope.

Solo is pretty bad. It's definitely the weakest role in the game and does need some buffs. I never said he couldn't be beat, I'm just saying that's one of the reasons why he's disliked. I'm not saying PH needs more nerfs or is OP. I just think solo needs some love!

Not at all. It's because he hurts solo players the most (solo players suffer the most in this game). They can't coordinate to solve the box like SWF can. This makes him pretty unfun to face.

Can i quote you, when survivors complain about getting camped or tunneled?
On a more serious note, my escape rate as solo survivor has never been higher. Of course, my perception of the game might greatly vary from everyone elses. But, for example. When Otz played survivor. His escape rate was also drastically higher than what most people claim.
Maybe survivor just isn´t as hard anymore.
Go ahead and quote me. I hate tunneling and camping, butI know it’s part of the game. I do hope we get a fix for facecamping, though. Survivor is harder than it used to be... We have less pallets, nerf to toolboxes, anti loop killers, etc. Killer has definitely gotten easier over the years. The game is far from perfect, but it’s definitely more balanced than people want to claim.

Just because you don't use something for toxic reasons doesn't mean other people don't do it either.
Flashlight clicking can be benign. So can tbagging. Tbagging can mean 'hello', 'thank you', 'heal me', 'look at this'... and it can mean 'haha ######### you.' It's all about the context, and clicking is the same. Clicking at a pallet, at the gates, or after something like a Head On play/DS/a flashlight or pallet save is a taunt, and macros exist purely to be irritating.
Even the 'get the killer's attention' argument is a little flimsy because while there is a tactical element at play, that tactical element hinges on the killer being annoyed by the clicking.
The devs could easily remove strobing issues by capping the amount of times the flashlight can be activated in a very short period of time. Bam, epilepsy fix right there. Photosensitivity in general is harder (some players have an issue with the blinding screen), but I think that could be dealt with just by creating an option that turns the visual of a blind from white to black, like colorblind mode.
I don't really agree, but I'm honestly just tired of commenting on this thread. Not really... I don't try to annoy the killer with my flashlight when I'm trying to get his attention. I just want him to notice me. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm not constantly running after him, lol.
Edit: Would be nice if the devs did something for those people.

Sadly true. It's the OG meme - anonymity + audience = words I can't say on the forums.
This is why games generally need some sort of moderation. And the weird thing is - it's worth the investment, even if it seems petty. Players will not only be more likely to remain in games with good communities - they also tend to recommend them.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2703076#Comment_2703076
Bingo.
There's room for rivalry and midmatch taunting while also drawing a firm line in the sand. Toxicity, if left unchecked always propagates outwards and eventually you have to overcorrect in the other direction, which tends to get really silly.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2703059#Comment_2703059
It messes with photosensitive players for starters (I've got minor issues after a bad concussion a few years, and it definitely makes me feel headachy and nauseous at times - the first game in ages to do that), and I've had survivors say in postgame that they hope they can give someone a seizure one day.
But okay - what is the qualitative difference that separates those two things? Extremity? Then where is the line exactly, and why do you draw it there?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2703057#Comment_2703057
It's tricky, and always dependent on context.
Camping is the equivalent of a cannon rush in Starcraft. It's a cheese - annoying to face and more difficult to counter than to execute, but it's a tactic that gives easier victories. Tunneling is...just how killers are supposed to play. Get one person dead ASAP so you can assume control of the game. If you don't have someone dead by the time 3 gens are done, you're probably going to get 3-4 outed. These are both a balance issue, if there is an issue.
Strobing your flashlight, especially if you are using a macro serves no purpose but to irritate, taunt, gloat at or even potentially harm your opponent IRL. It serves no purpose but being nasty to other players.
Like I've already said: Clicking your flashlight isn't toxic. Survivors will usually t-bag if they really want to be toxic. Flashlights can be used for many different reasons. I personally click my flashlight sometimes to get the killers attention (especially if he is tunneling my teammates), for saves, and I also do it because I like the clicking sound, lol.
Killer players shouldn't take everything so personal and assume every survivor is evil. Telling someone to kill themselves is very extreme... I don't consider clicking a flashlight to be on the same level as that.
It sucks that flashlights can make you (and others) feel sick, but I'm not really sure if the devs could do anything about that. I do dislike people that use flashlight macros, though. These are just my thoughts on flashlights in the game, nothing else. This will probably be my last post on this thread.
I hope you have a good day/night wherever you are.
-
@Veinslay said:
I mean clicking the flashlight in the exit gates is very clearly a hahaha f u, you suck lol
Not always. Sometimes it's fun to just play around in the exit for a bit. Of course, killers have no way of knowing this though. Everything doesn't have to be toxic.
-
@BenSanderson55 said:
Some of the comments are just proving your point. A lot of disingenuous people in this community. In the same breath a person will say camping tunneling flashlight clicking are not toxic and part of the game, then these same people will get all defensive when you message them about them doing these things lol.
None of those things are toxic. Of course, some people are going to get defensive when you say things like flashlight clicking and tunneling are toxic when it isn't. Some of those things aren't fun, but it's part of the game. But apparently if I click my flashlight at the killer, it's the same thing as telling them to kill themselves. 🙄
Edit- I think I read your post correctly. It's very late here. Had to finish some stuff for work 😆

But why? I mean, seriously? What is the difference? If you just want to belittle someone's response to toxicity, why is this such an abstract difference that merits distinction? Do you actually have a reason, or is it the fee fees?
Clicking a flashlight isn't even toxic. Telling someone to kill themselves is completely different. I shouldn't even have to say this.
