  • I don’t know about removing him at first maybe try making changes and see how it goes if it doesn’t fix the problems then remove him

  • I just want oni nerfed then I’ll be happy until then I’m sticking to the normal mode

I like all of these buffs, particularly because they would help them where they need it; in improving their chase potential against the better Survivor teams and to better deal with the counter play of Survivors splitting up.

But to be entirely honest, I don't think they're in desperate need of any buffs right now.

That said, I'm of the opinion that's it's OK for some Killers on the roster to be "weaker" (especially the ones that have mechanically simple powers like Ghostie/Legion/Trapper). I've never believed tier lists are relevant to most players because I think it's actually a lot easier to hit BHVRs 60% kill rate target with the simpler to learn Killers in public matches, so long as you are playing to win and not pulling any punches. That's especially true if they're SoloQ stompers like Pig/Legion/Freddy/Sadako. It's just comparison with the crazy powers of some of the more recent Killers that have made the older Killers feel weaker than they actually are.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4100102#Comment_4100102

True, there are countless rework suggestions but all of them are terrible and completely destroy what Legion mains love about the character. I've not seen a single one yet that I like.

I think a lot of the Legion hate is residual hate from their very first iteration. Killers only get one chance to make a positive impression on players and if it's not a good one on release, the hate for them lasts way beyond any nerfs and partial reworks they might get. I wasn't around for the OG Legion release and I think that might be why I don't fully understand the lasting hate for them in the community (obviously, I'm also a little biased because I main them. People hate Killers that they personally play a lot less than the ones they don't).

Just dropping in to say I think people dislike Legion so much because of the mending for half the game. If Legion knows what he’s doing, he can make matches drag on a lot longer, and it can be a slog to play against him. I don’t think it has much to do with OG Legion, and I say this as someone who loves playing Legion (used to main them at one point) but still hates going up against them.

  • I personally just play matches for fun, almost always using meme perks because they’re more enjoyable than meta perks. I never go into a game expecting to win, so losing doesn’t really bother me at all.

  • I’ve seen it once, and I don’t think it’s anywhere near as broken as people made it out to be. I think most people, even killer players, have forgotten about it, lmao.

its effective immediately, you might need to restart game though

Thank you, Mandy!! This is great news!

  • Tunneling and camping are extremely common, and getting stuck with unskilled teammates in solo queue is just miserable. I can see why people don't want to play survivor tbh.

Edit- I forgot to mention all the annoying killers in this game. Yeah, I’m looking at you, Jason (and Ghoul).

  • Thanks for the Trapper and Dwight skins (Dwight is one of my mains)! I’ve been looking forward to them and they look awesome. But about the cake situation—you definitely should’ve given out more this year. I mean, it’s the 10th anniversary after all. I love DBD, it’s my favorite game, but you could’ve done better. Please take all the feedback from this year’s event and make next year even better. Hope everyone has a great day!

  • @iOverSpray said:

Dont worry, you'll cry enough and they'll strip him of any thing good. Perkless trapper should be the only killer in dbd.

Oh no, a killer who’s a bit too strong right now might get some much-needed changes so the survivor side isn’t so miserable when playing against him. The horror! Oh please, lol.

  • @KerJuice said:

So that’s why I see nearly every Jason running that build….jeez.

Yep, I went against three so far today.

  • There’s no doubt Jason will get nerfs, but who knows what changes they’ll make. Hopefully, they don’t make him too clunky while keeping him fair and still fun to play against.

  • @jayoshi said:

They could make changes. Tweak numbers. Limit how many times you can go invisible. Scale back the survivor power ups. They just won't do it. But they could.

It’s a pretty limited game event, and the game is doing extremely well. The forums, Reddit, and other places make up only a small portion of the player base, and most people are probably enjoying it, to be honest. I don’t really see them putting much effort into it right now. Nothing will likely change until next year, but at least the normal mode is still available to play.

  • @Anniehere said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4094713#Comment_4094713

I'm pretty disappointed with all of this too, honestly. But I feel like we're just beating a dead horse at this point if it's impossible for them to make changes now.

Exactly, I’m sure they’ve heard the feedback and will hopefully make improvements for next year’s event. Just play enough to grab the rewards and stick to the normal mode. Personally, I don’t enjoy it on either side because when I’m playing survivor, my teammates waste too much time, and it’s pretty obvious why it’s not all that fun on the killer side either. Still, I’m not going to call the devs names or hate on them… I’m sure they had good intentions, but it just didn’t work that well in the gameplay.

  • Because forums and other places like Reddit, X, etc., represent only a small portion of the actual player base, most people are probably playing the game and having fun. Not everyone plays for hours every day as if it’s their job—many also play other games. Those who are complaining most likely play the game too much, and anything added that they don’t like will upset them and push them past the breaking point, as they’re already burnt out and probably just need to take a break.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

Mandy is right though, people, myself included have been riling each other up.

Like people are clearly enjoying the game, the numbers of players is still high lol, I just think people are more vocal of their issues coz there is more playing rn.

I get legit issues, but… patience for those who are coming at BHVR, they do listen but things take time to change believe it or not. We all love the game here/enjoy it, so just take a break or play normal queue while you wait or wait until next years iteration lol…

No reason to sit there kicking and screaming, I think the message has been seen at this point and they'll address it when they are ready lol

Better things to be stressing over and putting energy into lol

    I agree!

I don’t get what people want from them. I’m sure they’re aware of the feedback. They don’t need to come out and say they’ve seen it-we know they have. I’m sure they’ll be working on making changes, but believe it or not, these things take time. It probably won’t happen until next year’s event, so some people just need to chill. PLAY the normal game if you hate the event so much.

I play solo with random perks all the time as my friend rarely plays this with me. Still most of the matches are around that 150-250k even on survivor side. Sometimes less when the match goes bad from the start.

I can only speak from my own experience, but my games have been terrible lately, with a lot of tunneling and camping, or my teammates giving up after dropping like flies… even when it's not against a super strong killer! It's crazy.

  • @Wezqu said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4094188#Comment_4094188

I don't even know how you can run out of them. You get one about every two or three bloodweb levels guranteed and you get about 150k-250k every match if you are not tunneled out basically or the match falls a part like house of cards. You will get so many levels with that 150-250k that you have surplus of cakes even if you use another next match.

I’m lucky if I get that much with how my games are going. It’s probably because I’m playing solo. I’d imagine I’d get a lot more if I were playing with my friends, so rip to solo players. lol

Edit- I think I might try the play while you wait feature so I can get in some killer games, since I need to complete those challenges and hopefully earn some decent BPs.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4094137#Comment_4094137

This is most likely why they went with the double approach. Making them very rare guarantees at least one in every P50-Bloodweb and making them appear on specific levels guarantees a certain amount of Cakes. In the end, from what I have seen, with 5 Cakes burned each game you will get enough BPs so that with every 8-10 games you have 1 Prestige Level which gives you 27 Cakes. So people in the end will still have a lot of Cakes at the end of the event.

You could be right, but yeah there will be plenty of cakes regardless. I rarely have cakes left over from events, so I’m not complaining either way.

  • @Wezqu said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4094127#Comment_4094127

Its more likely more because them being Very Rare level makes them more likely to appear in the P100 characters bloodwebs thing that people complained in other events of not getting event offerings on them and in this one nobody has complained of that so it seems to be working.

But then you have everyone else complaining that they’re getting fewer because of the rarity, but I’ve seen people on Reddit say that cakes now appear on certain levels of the Bloodweb and it’s like 20 cakes per prestige or something along those lines.

  • @Angy_Quentin said:

I have no idea why they even changed the cakes rarity and drop rate. They had no reason meddling with it.

Probably because people were hoarding thousands of cakes, and they want players to grind more. What better way to keep people playing and grinding for longer than by taking away their cakes?

  • @pidgeon said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4094106#Comment_4094106

People are genuinely complaining just to complain simply because "b-b-b-b-but its not 200 cakes per prestige how will I get my 3000 cakes like last year?" Its not like the game is losing any genuine players over this, its mainly just people who were already burnt out of the game and wanted an excuse to stop playing after 2000 hours.

I get where people are coming from, even though I personally never hoard cakes because I don’t play enough to end up with a ton left over. The grind in this game is brutal and gets worse every time a new character is added, and cakes definitely make that grind easier. So, I understand their frustration, but throwing tantrums and name-calling won’t help. People need to calm down and offer constructive criticism, even if nothing ends up changing.

  • @Wezqu said:

That is not that common as I have run that perk and quite often it does not cause this. It also could be that the person had no other place to run anymore. I have had tons of situations where I am running away from the killer and have to run through or close to gen being fixed its just part of the game. If they are doing that intentionally then yeah it sucks but in the end telling it here in the forum where most people are experienced enough not to do that is little bit a wrong audience anyway.

Still I understand you needed to went.

It’s extremely common in my games, which is why I’ve completely stopped using perks that reveal my aura or generator auras to other survivors. They usually run straight to me when the killer is chasing them.

Just going to be quick here i won’t give you a full run down of why when google exists. However regalia is deeply sacred, in fact it is so personalized that no one other than the owner is even allowed to touch it without permission. There is a spiritual aspect as well as it being worn during dance as a form of prayer. There is way more too it than that, if you really want to know more i do suggest you look into it. I just am not the best at explaining these things.

That’s actually really interesting, thanks for explaining some of it to me. I’ll definitely look more into it.

  • @MashedBroccoli said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4093753#Comment_4093753

its not about it being sold a month or now for iri shards. It should not have had an auric cell option point blank period. As a native i would’ve rather they left his regalia out entirely instead of ever making profit off of it.

May I ask why it’s such a big deal? I’m just curious, and I don’t mean to come across as rude or anything.

  • @MashedBroccoli said:

as a native tc is right, maybe they should’ve used another cosmetic as the auric cell purchase instead of the regalia but of course this community wouldn’t understand how wrong this is. Screw marginalized people think of the corporation!

It will be available for shards in about a month or so. I'm not going to comment on whether it's right or not since I’m not part of that group, just letting you know.

  • Honestly, this doesn’t bother me, probably because I rarely have extra cakes left over since I don’t usually play much during events, and I’ve gotten a decent amount so far. I can see why people are upset though. This is the 10th anniversary, and it does feel a bit stingy of them. It should be a huge celebration with tons of BPs.

thank you for reminding me, that makes me feel a little bit better about the money-only part. one other person in the community let me know as well. it's not often i pay attention to how skins are provided, but this was an exception.

@random1543 editing my comment to reply to you, but that's not always the case. most of the time bhvr locks cosmetics into sets to prevent broken cosmetics or incompatibility with other pieces. there can be a variety of things with this one, but that's as far as i know as one of the reasons they do it.

Yeah. You don’t have to pay anything for the original content, as I mentioned in my earlier comment. The outfits currently available for Auric Cells will become purchasable with shards in about a month or so. This is why I don't really see any issues here.

  • I get where you’re coming from, but BHVR is a business that wants to make money. All original survivors can be bought with money or shards, and these characters cost BHVR money to create. They’re not just going to give them away for free.

  • My teammates keep giving up against him or disconnecting.

What? People are having an easy time vs the new killer who nobody really knows how to play against? Who could have guessed that. It's almost like every other game that adds a new character has super inflated stats for the first few months.

Or, you know, it could be a little of both. Jason is a bit too strong at the moment and needs some adjustments, but I’m sure the devs will have a much clearer picture once the killer has been out for a month or so. This way, they can make the necessary changes instead of butchering him right after release.

I agree with you 100% ! Most of my matches have been s**t since his release. No one wants to do anything once they realize that it's Jason so they hide in the corner of the map. Most of my teammates have been giving up or disconnecting. I have not been able to have a full decent match since his release while playing survivor.

I’ve had a similar experience with survivors disconnecting when it's Jason. I've even seen Steam names saying they'll disconnect if it's him, lol. The hate is real.

  • Some changes that I'd personally like to see are:

    1. Omnipresent Evil should have a longer cooldown and include a timer of around 30 seconds when using his power.

    2. Remove Killer Instinct and the survivors’ scream when Jason reveals himself… it’s just too much. He should have to put effort into finding the survivors instead of having it handed to him for free.

    3. Jason also needs an increase in the time it takes to grab another spear, as refill stations are everywhere and he can just keep chucking them at survivors until he lands a hit. Survivors should be able to create more distance if Jason misses, and he should be punished slightly more for it. Plus, getting one after hooking someone doesn’t even make sense.

I don’t mind strong killers, but Jason just has too much going for him, which makes playing survivor really unfun. I hope he doesn’t get made overly clunky or weak, but some changes are needed because Jason just isn’t fun to play against or balanced.

Same thing for me with the Twitch drop and when I enter the code as well.

  • Yep, Omnipresent Evil absolutely needs a nerf, but I'll keep playing as and against him and share more thoughts later.

  • I think his model is much closer to his trailer, and that’s what they’re going for. It looks way better in my opinion.

Imagine asking people to buy hardware in this economy. Absolute insanity.

It’s not insanity at all; that’s just how it is when your hardware is really outdated. Like I mentioned in another post, people are complaining about the new graphics update even though they’re already playing on hardware that lags on lower settings. The game needs this update if it’s going to last another decade. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to point out that these players need to upgrade, and if that’s not possible, I genuinely feel bad for them. But the truth is, this update is necessary for the game’s longevity. It’s just far too outdated at this point.

Oh yeah "some of you may die but it's a sacrifice I am willing to make", I guess. I'm happy for you that you have good hardware, but not everyone has enough money to upgrade their system, especially considering current RAM prices and what not. Of course the game won't be supported forever, but it's not new story-driven AAA game and it should be expected to run smoothly even on 10+ year old hardware and it's true for literally all of the most popular games - Fortnite, LoL, Apex, CS, R6, GTA V Online etc. all run great on very old hardware and I'm sorry, but saying "well, sucks to be you" to a large portion of your playerbase is not the way to go.

I’m going to have to disagree with the idea that it should be expected to run well on hardware that’s over 10 years old. If they can optimize it enough to run on some lower-end systems with lower settings, that’s great, but I don’t think it should be an expectation. If they want the game to last another 10+ years, changes will need to be made, and players will have to upgrade sooner or later. That’s just how it goes for many games. DBD has been showing its age in both gameplay and visuals for years, and it’s time for some improvements.

  • @random1543 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4087797#Comment_4087797

But they need to come with optimization or not at all. Other companies are able to optimize their games, Especially a older game from 2016 who have tons of people playing on lower end hardware they need to consider that.

Some people are still playing on PCs or consoles that are over 10 years old, and they’ll have to upgrade eventually. You can’t expect BHVR to keep supporting those systems forever. I saw some people complaining on Reddit because they might not be able to play on their PCs that are already struggling with lower settings. Like, it sucks when you have to upgrade just to play, but sometimes it’s just necessary.

  • @random1543 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4087788#Comment_4087788

You can have stunning looking games that can still run or be adjusted for lower end pcs / hardware.

Helldivers has so much more going on but I'm able to still run it at low setting, with current dbd optimization afraid anyone without a good pc or next gen just wont be able to run it at all.

Outlast trails is another one that looks good, but can still run on lower end pcs.

Elden ring is another game that works for me on lowest settings, and still looks good and gives option to go higher settings, while also maintaining low setting options.

DBD is not the sorta game that needs to be gate kept behind high end hardware.

We don't know how it's going to turn out yet, but if upgrades are necessary, then so be it.So many people play this game on potatoes, tbh. Sooner or later, these people are going to need to upgrade to a better PC or console.

  • @SoGo said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4087788#Comment_4087788

Ok, but don't expect those people to continue supporting the game.

That is just how it is, too.

I mean, that’s completely fine, but they can’t keep holding the game back just because some people don’t want to upgrade their 10 year old systems. It’s either that or don’t play, I suppose.

  • Guys, it sucks to have to upgrade your PCs or consoles just to keep playing the game, but it’s a necessary step for it to last another 10+ years. The reality is the game is getting outdated and needs improvements… that’s just how it is.

  • @Blueberry said:

Why are we nerfing (much less not buffing) a killer that wasn't strong in the first place?

Why didn't his bad perks get buffed? Even the one that did is still mediocre.

No one is going to be running these perks post release hype. People want to run new perks but everything being released is just bad.

I mean, Jason is strong and he did have some issues the devs are trying to fix before he goes live. Honestly, these changes are fine and won’t hurt him too much. It’s all good in my opinion.

  • @Wyndsor said:

In my opinion it's an inclusion so overdue its hard to get hyped for it, I feel like Jason doesn't fit modern DBD Dashslop ADHD killer gameplay so I see his inclusion going one of two ways:

    1. They don't give him a dash/anti-loop and he's not played because he doesn't autowin

    2. They give him a dash/anti-loop and he becomes Ghoul 2.0 and gets a bad rep because of it

Neither would do the character justice imo. He should've came out ages ago.

Well said, and I totally agree. I saw the reveal and thought, "oh, okay, cool, I guess." It’s not that I dislike Jason or anything, but as someone else mentioned, he fits almost too perfectly in DBD, which makes me wish they had gone with something a bit more unique. But hey, it’s whatever.

  • @Chrarcq said:

Yeah I'm sure that -1% battery consumption was exactly what we needed to finally make use of the Springtrap doors, Behaviour.

Yeah, I’m not even going to bother testing this stuff on the PTB because it’s not really going to make much of a difference. I was excited to see what some of these changes would be, but now I’m just disappointed.

  • Finally, why it’s taken them this long is beyond me. I mentioned Blight should be 4.4 years ago here on the forum, and of course, some people told me it would be way too much of a nerf. But no, he needed this change, and he’ll still be one of the best killers in the game. You’re just going to have to be a bit better now and actually be good at using his power instead of missing with it and then relying on your 4.6 speed to catch up and hit them. Good changes.

  • I agree changes were needed for the blood gens from last year, but having all the blood pumps spawn together on the opposite side of the map from the blood gens is frustrating and needs tweaking. Killer perks now affect these gens as well, so there’s no reason for the spawns to be this bad. Please fix it. I'm just trying to complete my challenges, then I'm done with the event.

  • @scoser said:

Everything about him is slow. Walk across the map to find a survivor? Takes ages. Chasing a survivor that got a head start? Too bad Trickster ate 50 hamburgers before the match. Try to throw knives? Might as well be walking through quicksand trying to do that and keep survivors in sight. Fewer knives so you're out almost instantly? Gotta waddle your butt across the map to a locker to restock. Maybe if I played him 24/7 I'd be able to trickshot and have S rank up constantly, but just trying him out for a few games after the patch is sapping my will to play him much longer.

I totally agree. I tried playing him for a few games, and he feels awful to use. On top of that, I even tried using a controller on PC to play him, and it felt even worse. I’ve stopped playing him, which is a shame because I got the new skin for him too, but oh well… I won’t be touching him again unless changes are made.
