This! For the longest time I ran a total totem buster build of Smal Game, Detective Hunch and Counter Force and honestly, if you arent the survivor who runs into the killer by sheer dumb luck right in the beginning, you will cleanse that 5 totems in no time. But I soon noticed that not very many killers are running any hex perks these days. I prevented a handful of NOEDs, but triggered about tripple the amount of Hunted Grounds. And of course, the Mikaelas will get mad of you, if you bless everything. Heck, I havn't even been able to cleanse my 100 hexes for the achievment, yet, so hex perks have really fallen out of favor. So in theory "do bones" might be a counter to NOED, but neither NOED, nor any other hex perks are meta right now and you can more or less just ignore bones unless someone forces you to go hunting. And then its just a minute or so till you find the glowing pile of bones. So sad.

sadly, Hex perks are "almost" worthless since they get spawned right in the open next to a generator. Absurd.

  • i dont have screen recording software but i just had another game, tried over and over. Hook a survivor, pop lights up with the red bar filling. I go to as gen with progress. kick it, no flash, no sparks, no instant regression. same with oppression.

Jolt and ruin work though. Very annoying

What graphic setting are you using.

max but why would that matter?

  • @brokedownpalace said:

You make it sound like just the animation is missing but are you saying the gen isn't losing progress either? Because I've gone against killers using Pop and it definitely works

when a gen is regressing you should have that inistial flash and then sparks on the generator. this does not happen for me and i know it should due to gameplay i see where people use it. I dont have time to sit and watch a gen to see if it regresses. but I get zero feedback on either of those perks that it is regressing anythging. where as ruin does.

  • ok so i have played a few more games and the perk isnt triggering at all. Is there any way to fix this? that seems kinda problematic

  • and other killers have humanoid mouths. Do you struggle to tell the difference between them?

and dredge and blight have similar mouths in a vague sense. They still look quite a bit different. This post is just.....sad.

At the Current State ist very Hard to get more than 1k against a good team as a killer that isnt blight or nurse if the team also have more than 1 DH ist mostly impossible to get even 1k

Im pretty Sure the Devs want this Game be Balanced around 1k so Survivors can Escape the most Time andpay more Money for Feng Min Skins Survivor are allowed to have Fun the Killer doesnt

thats simply not true. if you can only get 1k consistently against good teams with c and d rank killers thats a skill issue with you.

Im an average killer and while good teams make me have to sweat hard, they are absolutely beatable.

Yes there are some things in the game that feel like utter BS but they CAN be played around.

Either by learning better mind games, predictions, map layouts and learning how to make split decisions to try and optimise your movements or bringing perks that complement the killer/playstyle.

Ive never played blight or nurse, and primarily play trapper, gf and wraith, 3 of the weakest killers in the game and I have no issues winning even against good teams most of the time, or at minimum close games.

COH can be a pain in the ass but doesnt prevent you from winning games. Most survs will try to boon again which is predictable and often boon the same spot. anticipating this can allow you to gain free pressure because the booning survs are addicted to booning.

DH can be a pain but majority of people DH into walls or use it unoptimally. I agree that in High mmr and pro level people yea you might lose. game wasnt meant for pro level play. and all these people complaining about these high mmr play are probably not high mmr.

But complain about mmr being unfair when it comes to them just not willing to admit they need to improve their skill.

The game, possibly the worst map for killers can still be won frequently.

i wish people would stop acting like DBD is a political election and blaming everyone else for things they arent willing to learn to play around.

Does that mean there arent things that can or should be adjusted? No but so many people on this forum are so utterly whiny because if there is a playstyle you dont like we just call it broken and OP.

I HATE flashlight with an utter passion as well as body blocking. but i do my best to play around them or when i suspect in lobby such tactics will occur i adjust my loadout accordingly.

Theres no point in looking at a valid startegy (this goes for tunneling and camping which all have multiple counterplays) and whinign because it doesnt fit your preference instead of being mature, and learning how to adjust a playstyle or build.

and finally, lets say your complaining about going against these amazing teams. why would you WANT to beat them all the time? just means youd be playing against them even more. once mmr starts putting you with sweats, losing a few games is a GOOD thing.

    Its all in your mindset.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/324325/is-oppresion-supposed-to-show-you-when-its-on-cool-down

This sounds like a bug as you're supposed to see the explosion sound auras of the other generators effected.

Also it should show you the cooldown like how Surge JOLT does.

So it sounds like it was bugged and wasn't going off at all.

hm ok. Its been 3 games in a row then that it has not worked =(

ill try another time or 2 before i remove it for wasting a perk slot

  • the only thing speaking the same language comes in handy for is EGC so why does it matter?

  • I wanna see how many people are actually high MMR because if we go by this forum every single person here is high mrr lmao

  • One of the issues imo anyways is that way too many people see a killer face camping but still try to save. iof 3 people focused on 3 different gens you can get 3 done before the hook timer runs out.

But so many people try to force a save which helps propogate camping. Only time i face camp is if ive had a bad game and its at the end and i have a hook. if i leave the hook i wont get 1 kill but even then i back off a bit and allow a chance for a save cuz chasing is fun, standing doing nothing is not.

I play more killer over survivor but i RARELY see face camping. like 1 in 50 matches is face camping so idk what matches everyone else gets where this is such a problem. Is it a new player problem? I can see baby killers do it because they dont understand the game yet and even while I myself am by no means a great killer, i see no validity in the argument "we have to camp cuz survs too strong"

My early killer time, i agreed with that. After learning how to chase anfd loop and semi mind game well, there just isnt a need to face camp. Proxy camping is infinitely superior while allowing you to still have hook presence AND you can pressure 1-2 nearby gens.

Surely experienced killers know this and if they know the fundamentals of the game and they know how to play tiles then i cant see any justification to camp.

So am i wrong or is this a symptom of newer killers just not learning the game yet?

Honestly, you'd be surprised! Combo this with something that brings a painful choice between losing a lot of gen-time or going for the rescue and it could be really impactful. There are so many times survivors are barely making it before stage 2 and that could be very, very impactful on them.

ohhhhh good point. I didnt think of the stage 1 to 2 speed. So you could more easily cause a 2 hook kill instead of a 3 hook kill if i am understanding correctly?

In that case never mind, i can see its utility more with the right build

  • @Firebird1 said:

You should constantly be threatening survivors with the chainsaw. Ideally, you want to always force the survivor to get downed instantly or drop the pallet. In addition, find that sweet spot where you are a bit close behind a survivor in a loop. InvadeGames, Bubba shouldn't be too close that the survivor can stun you, but not too far because the chainsaw gauge will run out. As Bubba, deadzones are very easy to create.

Eventually, you will encounter survivors who will use windows effectively to neutralize the chainsaw. Leave them and try to find the weak link. Also, don't be afraid to camp/proxy camp to secure a 2nd hook stage or kill. Camping can also be helpful if the hooked survivor is in a midst of a 3-4 gen. 1 perk I recommend is Tinkerer. Survivors will be caught off guard and downed instantly. It is extremely disgusting on Bubba. Try that perk out.

tinkerer comes from hillbilly right? I tried him once and I hated him so utterly much i swore never to use him again. That was early on in my switch to killer from a survivor only player.

And I definitely am a proxy camper, its part of my playstyle but with bubba i guess i am hesitant because of the raw amount of complaining about hook camping bubbas. I have no shame in proxy camping, its a valid and effective strategy if done right and is not the same as face camping but I dont want to ruin the experience for other people so with bubba, i have been moving farther away than i usually will on a killer.

as in the first post i usually choose a 1-2 generator and hook patrol to time it so that im either on my way back while a hook save happens(which hell yea im popping a chainsaw sweep on the save if i can) or i can quickly come back in after one happens.

and in reference to your deadzone statement, i assume you can thus break pallets with the sweep? I have not tried this. And when doing so do you get stunned or stopped or can you continue to sweep through the pallet for a hit?

  • IMO its a pretty worthless perk. how many games have any saves that take place within the last 10 seconds of a survivor struggle on hook? imo feels its value is far too inconsistent to be worth taking a perk slot when you could throw on one of a dozen other consistently value generating perks.

That being said i have literally never used the perk so my position may be worthless. let me know if so.

  • yea but he sings us lullabys before we die. Spooders dont

The hatch was added bc of situations where the last surv(s) were not able to finish gens and prolonged the game by just hiding, with the intention of making the killer dc. To at least reduce such griefing scenarios hatch was added pretty early on (it was not there from the start).

So you could argue, if the survivor would just be good sportsman and admit defeat when it's unwinable, hatch wouldn't be needed.

    Survivors being good sports

    hahaha good one!

  • I dont have epilepsy or seizures but clicky clicks in my face create highly uncomfortable sick feelings within my body. the ONLY point of clicky click is to be annoying and to taunt. it holds no gameplay value. Its not hard to restrict them So DO IT.

  • @RisingTron said:

Why would you block the gens...? Just have the killer's aura show up if they're face camping.

theres already a perk for that

  • while a basement build is viable it sounds like you need to learn the fundamentals of chasing more. after maining killer for over a month now chases usually dont make me mad now because i have learned how to run them and how to play loops and which ones to drop. I main the weaker killers too, Wraith, GF, trapper, and i get 3-4k the majority of my games. and i am by no means a top level killer. I have bad reflexes and whiff alot.

Only baby survivors are gonna fall for someone obviously just camping basement.

Also, sounds kinda boring to do nothing but sit on basement all game. once you learn to chase and loop against survs, it does become enjoyable.

On the non god loops i often intentionally dont break them in hopes i can ge ta surv there later to play the loop on them.

  • yes, strobing you in the face with their clicky clicks for no reason other than to be annoying and toxic is a problem and should be addressed.

    And is very uncomftorably visaully.

  • @OpenX said:

It's pretty much always gonna be toxic. If you play 10~ killer games and win 9 of them, I wanna say you will get:

    4 Salty Lobbies

    5 Silent Lobbies

    1 gg ez lobby

I can literally go whole days without a gg as killer. But the second you lose it's gg ez. Best thing you can do is turn chat off as killer imo.

Even when you play fair you will still get BM'd, alot of the times by people you went out of your way to give another chance

    what is BM?

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Try to break as few as possible. You literally don't have enough time to kick one.

    My main! <3 <3

Yes! we need more Hag lovers in here! People don't like her for the same reason they don't like going against nurses...she's strong (not S tier but she is high A). People don't like her because there's no chasing with hag, which is what a lot of survivors like. But playing AS her is a different story, because arguably you need good map sense and killer intuition as well as strategy to decide how to use your resources effectively and when not to teleport when your traps are being harassed.

She has plenty of counters, and going against a coordinated team who knows how to go against a hag is rough. But she's a strong killer and is definitely fun to play!

very very fun. ill need practice on best placements for surv paths but she can be all over the place with good set ups im finding. its been probably 50 plus surv games since ive seen someone use her sadly.

  • @VirtuaTyKing said:

She's grown on me a little after using her for more than the odd game today.

what has been the unlikeable part?

  • ive never cared about grades. the weird obsession people have with them is odd.

  • @Mandy said:

    MMR is not turned off.

Yes the new rules were implemented last night and Grades hidden permanently.

i know everyone complains about everything you do but as for what its worth, as I am a presumably mid mmr killer, my match quality has definitely seen improvement. Last night when normally the swfs would crush me i was able to consistently remain on average at 2-3ks. with a sprinkling of 4ks and 0ks. was far far more enjoyable.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It's a rough feeling, especially since the point of view prevent's you from seeing why sometimes, the drop action got changed at some point so you couldn't drop survivors outside of the escape zone (don't think it was the actual reason, but was a noticed change), this sort of changed the space requirements when you try to drop a survivor to have ample space on your left (not sure if another survivor can prevent it by standing within that zone), but that's mainly the most common case for it.

Othertime's generally fall to the auto-escape percentage that was added when killer's woud dribble to avoid old DS, or generally as stated the game just doesn't listen and ignores the action and you started spamming the key for 3 seconds.

there is an auto escape chance when dropping? geez

  • @bm33 said:

I've noticed with killer when I'm trying to drop a survivor there's a delay. There's also a delay when I try to drop my item on the ground as survivor. It's fine if I'm switching items using pick up but if I'm just dropping an item it does the same delay as when I try to drop a survivor as killer.

reeeeally needs to be corrected in imo. sure, thats a very situational thing, but it matters alot when the situation arises.

  • you can get plenty of bloodpoints by playing normally.

it sucks when people ruin games like that

  • im confused by this. people say they see them all the time but when i play surv blight and nurse COMBINEd make up maybe 5-10 percent of matches. my games are overwhelmingly sadoko and freddy to a combined amount of like 50-60%

Well tbf you asked what makes gf low tier and people answered.

Don't let that stop you from enjoying them. I play weaker killers a lot myself and while it can be rough, it doesn't matter in the end.

I would rather play who I want to than strictly better killers just because they are... better.

thanks, that makes me feel better. everytime i wanna talk about killers i enjoy, it just seems like people complain about how bad they suck.

Seems like people would rather whine about everything then enjoy the game. makes me wonder why they even play. I get there are issues but does it really have to be constant negativity lol

I can completely understand that feeling...some of my most favourite matches have been what would be considered a loss because I didn't get a kill or I got a singular kill in EGC. But the matches themselves have been fun with good chases, lots of action, no searching around trying to find hidden survivors.

having good fun chases that dont feel like survs are running circles around you are very fun and to me have generally kept even my 0k games very fun and not frustrating.

  • interesting. ive not had any troubles so far today.

its felt today that hes really good as he essentially is like having almost constant oblivious with potential exposed value. i guess im just lucky enough that my games today have been mostly against fun teams and not sweaty teams. Ill enjoy it while it lasts i suppose. what is the rework they are doing?

  • hm, alright then. all my favorite killers suck apparently lol

  • personally i consider 2k a win. if the game is ideally intended to be balanced for an average of 2k and 2 escapes then i see no reason you cant consider 2k a win. considering how hard it can be to get 1k sometimes. I can be happy with 1k sometimes. its only 0k i consider a pure loss because even with1k i still did my job by feeding the entity. imo anyways.

  • @OpenX said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/319837/what-are-the-weaknesses-of-ghostface-that-make-him-low-tier

He has no real chase power. SWF can call out your location on comms. Add-ons are bad for the most part (changing soon). Pretty map dependent since huge open maps like Blood Lodge really mess him up

Spine chill hurts him the most of any stealth killer, making perfectly executed ambush almost impossible on those players

He is OK against solo Q and average loopers. SWF and good loopers will ruin him

oh ok gotcha, i hadnt met any swf teams of high caliber yet, but its approaching evening for me so im guessing the misery is about to begin lol

  • im glad the perks exist then and are available. i likely wouldnt have used him as i get very easily lost and disoriented so i avoid teleporting abilities as i easily lose survivors im chasing normally, quickly changing locations likely would be very hard for me.

    yes i suck like that
