Nah, that franchise is to brutal.
Although I don't necessarily disagree, I do find it hilarious to day that about something in DBD

Good Ole flippy

Happy Tree Friends theme. Please.
(Bit of an older reference that I hope at least someone else knows about)

Wraith is fringe a main of mine that I considering using more but I still want to unlock all teachables on Myers and Pyramid head first

So guys I've unlocked self care for Kate, Bill, claudette (obvs) and meg.... but for some reason hit feng min up to level 47 and the perk hasn't come up on her blood Web? I've unlocked her teachable? Would there be an off chance I've missed it somehow or does it unlock at specific levels for each character? If I've missed it by chance will it appear again at all?
Reaching out to my very experienced dbd amigos for some help here ♡
Thanks, guys and hope you're all having a good round of matches x
For survivor, I'd recommend just finding a single character you plan to use and get them the perks you want and don't worry about the other survivors (unless you want their teachables of course).
Killers id just pick a few you know you'll likely play a lot of and do the same. Unlock what you want on then then move on to more killers.
I'm in the process of getting all teachables unlocked for both sides (just need Yun jin, Elodie, and last one for Steve) and then I'll start putting points into my main killers (Myers, Pyramid Head, Wraith, probably whoever comes on RE chapter) and one survivor (whoever comes in RE Chapter)
-
He has a fee different issues imo.
-first, yellow bottles just aren't that useful. Too situational (mostly when you carry a survivor) and has high potential to counter yourself and buff survivors.
-he has the least lethal ranged attack while everyone else's can do actual damage
-he takes a good bit of effort to down a single survivor while other ranged killers can multitask more.
-he can have more downtime in comparison to other killers since you typically want to reload after each hook or down but you'll often have to reload mid chase.
-he doesn't have much natural pressure capabilities like most other killers.
- his addons overall are pretty lackluster
I mained him for a long time but don't use him much since he has a lot to be desired and I was very disappointed in His rework

Jeffrey Hawk is not his real name, he used it later to not be found.
his real name is Kenneth Chase, though, so your point still stands :)
Ohh oops. Good catch. My bad.
But yeah OP if you wanted to complete this more you could check into last names place of origin.
Thanks for putting this together either way

I just hate the the thought of giving a survivor a speed burst, that and they just take too long to actually activate even if you throw them quite far!
Plus that it cancels out you other bottles effects/makes your other smoke disappear
-
If you wanted, you could probably figure out the heritage of a lot of these people based on their last name origin.
For example, Fredrick Kruger would be Saxon since Kruger is a very Saxon based name.
Michael myers with myers being a very European last name (found in Dutch, English, or German but all connected to Anglo-saxon)
Clown is Jeffrey Hawk with Hawk being a British based name.
Etc etc
-
Id assume Meg and Kate have at least some Irish in them

They just renewed the license for Michael Myers. Not saying that means any changes are coming, but you wouldn't give your hopes up if you think it does.
Although I'd bet money we will get some new skins one way or another (and likely some touch ups to the current ones)

Id love an Australian killer and survivor. It feels like somewhere that could very easily offer interesting options for both

This map reminds me of Street Fighter.

I'm actually surprised people say Myers is outdated. His power is build-up similarly to Oni's and if used correctly can be game changing. I would change/buff some of his addons, but that's pretty much it. IMO one of the most balanced killers up to date.
Id his biggest issues are his tier 1 isn't very useful anymore, his addons are kind of all over the place to some (most people feel like some addons are trash and some feel like a few addons are broken), him being limited on stalking each survivor is an unnecessary hindrance and that he can only talk 1 at a time as well.
He is just a bit too slow overall. I love using Myers but hate that there are times where I can't gain more stalk on a survivor
-
I kind aof think some fundamental gameplay changes would need to happen before they can properly address both without making major changes to then and other stealth killers.
Right now the game doesn't work well for stealth killers overall largely due to being so slow. The game needs to be slower one way or another before stealth killers can be addressed properly.
I think they will eventually get some love but other things need to happen first
-
As killer "Well found my first victim"
As survivor "we're about to have a bad time"

I think Mordeo looks great, but the weapon is blocking the view and I don’t okay Huntress so don’t care that much.
Look-See is also great! I don’t know how fitting his powers are for a doctor legendary skin though? Maybe one of these days I should start watching CryptTV videos?
Hag for me is the best. It looks so naturally fitting, I love the birch look generally and it is mix and matchable!
I just started watching them.
Mordeo was pretty good overall. Definetly made you uncomfortable at times but was intriguing.
Birch was not that interesting to me. Not a whole lot happened in it.
Look see was pretty great and the scariest of the 3 to me. Look see doesn't have powers like doctor. Although it's another license, I'd almost put freddy or demogorgon as better fits .
I'll likely check out other ones but those were the ones I've watched so far

I’m sure @GeneralV can back me up but old Freddy wasn’t completely terrible. He just requires a different playstyle to do well
New Freddy is just boring tbh
I thought old freddy was fun overall. He just needed some buffs to him tbh.
I missed out on the rework until it was around for awhile. Freddy before ptb was okay but not that exciting but now he is just uninteresting for everyone involved.
Id love to have old freddy back with a few extra tools
-
To me it feels more like an unnecessary addon tbh. Sure it helps her some but not thattt much imo

I honestly don't know what they could do. Decreasing the bleedout timer speed if the killer is close would be one idea as well, but that would need to take other aspects, such as not working when the killer is in a chase or a survivor is within that radius of the hooked survivor, into account as well.
The problem with the exposed effect is that the camping killer could easily prevent the survivor from even unhooking, meaning the camped survivor would remain on the hook while the killer now also has another survivor downed that he just slugs.
Yeah that all is true and i can agree with a lot of this. I do think something should be done about the grabs though but I don't know what is the best solution honestly
-
Clown for sure
He is pretty unique in playstyle and has a lot of personality. He isn't the strongest killer but he can help you learn a lot on how to anti loop as survivors.
His perks are each very simple with one being very good (pop goes the weasel), one that can be good (bamboozle), and coulrophobia being one with potential.
He has a lot to offer just by himself but his perks can be fun and useful on other killers as well
-
DS is an unnecessary perk imo. I've been playing both sides for years and never used DS. I still get in red ranks consistently and get plenty of BP without it.

Fair enough, but as long as camping isn't somehow nerfed heavily, making survivors exposed while unhooking is not an option in my opinion.
Yeah maybe a camped survivor could get a much higher chance to unhook and have a built in BT like effect?

Why is nobody talking about hags cosmetic? Her’s look super cool and I love it very much, probably the most underrated outfit in the Crypt TV set.

I mean, I think there is enough time to press unhook denying in the right time. If anything though, they should then just implement it so holding the unhook denying button prevents survivors from unhooking. Butt increasing the time to unhook a survivor is not a good idea. It was decreased for a reason. If you then add to that survivors getting exposed while unhooking, and camping killers will have no problem at defending a hook at all anymore. It would be broken. With those changes, it would be pretty much impossible for the camping killer to not hit the unhooking survivor while they unhook for like 2 or 3 seconds, which would then end in an instant down. Not to mention that the killer wouldn't even have to drop the survivor in order to just slug them and keep on camping the hook.
I sure would stop playing survivor if I knew that the game was 100% over for me as soon as I get camped. We definitely can not make it even easier for killers to camp someone.
Yeah I could see holding a button down before a survivor tries to unhook working. I would still want to do away with the whole grab mechanic due to inconsistencies and replace with exposed, even if the window stayed the same.
Camping killers do suck and I'd like more counterplay to camping but that's somewhat of a seperate issue imo.

Now hear me out
What if instead of the entity being displeased they had a bunch of different sayings indicating its displeased that are kinda humorous
Such as
"The Entity will not be sending you a Christmas Card this year"
"The Entity swiped left"
"The Entity ghosted you"
"The Entity says "Get Gud""
"The Entity disowned you"

This would be awful in my opinion, since having survivors exposed while unhooking and increasing the unhook animation time would be a huge buff to camping killers, and that's the last thing this game needs. It would be nearly impossible to unhook a survivor against a killer who is camping, because the survivor unhooking would just go down immediately and not even be able to unhook the other survivor.
I don't even want to imagine that.
With that though the survivor on hook could kick the unhooker away to cancel the animation though making the unhooker no longer exposed.
Right now grab essentially doesn't work because of how glitchy it all is. I dont see hook denying working if the animation window stays as short as it is tbh
-
He is potentially the least in shape for one
-
No way it's her
-
@GoshJosh said:
Heck no! This is even worse than what we have now mate. Forcing a survivor to be locked in an animation, and exposed against a camping killer? Further, sometimes it's strategic to make a killer wiff and hit the hooked survivor, which you're also removing the option for. Just no.
The issue is that the game glitches because of the cancels, which makes grabs practically worthless to killer and can cause the survivor on hook to die as well. Exposed would accomplish the same thing as a grab exposure rather than a grab animation that has a lot of issues.
This also prevents survivors from being dive bombed (more for the sake of the survivor on hook)
A survivor has the choice to make a save and should factor in the risk as well. If the survivor on hook kicks the unhooker off the animation is cut short of course
-
I think the Look see has the coolest looking one but it does feel the least appropriate one out of the 3.
Birch naturally fits Hag but I think it's so natural that the change feels super minimal.
Mordeo looks cool but the axe is too much in the way
-
It does feel misleading tbh

idk,the game seems great already,My favorite Resident Evil is 7 and doubt anything can top that for me.The story was just amazing.
Id be cautious on assuming this will be the best. A lot of people were expecting re6 would be the best game they released for very similar reasons (included well liked characters, popular mechanics used in previous games, etc) as why people are excited for re8 and we all know how re6 was received:/
I'm inclined to think re8 will be good but I'd temper my expectations slightly

Not everyone I know always wants to play DBD at the same time I do. Plus, I'm pretty sure most people here seem to think that SWF is "toxic" and should be removed. So make up your mind. Are you okay with SWF or not?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2165274#Comment_2165274
I thought about it, but it won't stop people. They'll still have the ability to farm.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2165281#Comment_2165281
The big deal is people farming others and getting away with it. If someone isn't punished for doing something wrong, then they will continue to do it. Considering this new system, I'm half tempted to just DC if someone runs up to me while the killer is next to me.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2165286#Comment_2165286
I'll do the math for you since you said "Im to lazy": Killers (including Nurse while blinking) are faster than survivors. You cannot just out-speed a killer out of a chase indefinitely.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2165289#Comment_2165289
I have about 20 people in a personal Discord who play DBD... Being an adult means people have responsibilities. We don't all go to school and get home at the same time.
Also, anyone who says "just don't get caught" loses all credibility. The fact that you say that tells me you either only play Killer, or just not at all.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2165290#Comment_2165290
Honestly, never thought of that. It sounds like a really good idea! That would be perfect!
Grabs in general are very buggy, so replacing it with exposed would work out nicely. And increasing the animation time would make people more likely to get caught in the act of farming and even prevent the possible trolling that could come from a kicking mechanic.
Thank you for actually reading the post and having enough brain power to process it maturely.
Much appreciated! :)
Lol no worries. Yeah I feel like that's a pretty good middle ground that addresses a number of issues without favoring one side too much

Old stubborn people, not everyone wants a killer just because big boobs, lol.Ignoring the OG resident evil characters just because of this would be really dissapointing.
Also,
Regardless of the success of the current game it just is true that old re games are some of the most popular ones (1-4) and culturally relevant.
I'm sure RE8 will be really good but it would be risky for capcom and bhvr to put their money on a game that hasn't released yet.
-
How is the new progress for the rift? Less grind feeling at all? I havent gotten to check into it yet but was wondering
-
No way capcom would lend out assets before their game released (as in bhvr has been working on this chapter for a while now). No way re8 is the chapter (maybe a chapter reduced down the road though).
It'd be a much safer play to do older content that's universally liked rather than new content tbh
-
Id be into this change.
Also never thought I'd see a sentence started with "what if blindness"

I think hook interactions would need a few changes to make this work. Otherwise it would be a mess with trying to prioritize kicking away, unhooking, cancelling unhook, and killer grabbing all at the same instance.
1. Remove cancel unhook ability- this is already super glitch and inconsistent. Survivor has to commit to unhooking
2. Remove killer unhook- also a big part of the glitches. Replace with unhook survivor being exposed during the animation only.
3. Lengthen unhook process- this would allow both the person on hook and the killer to respond properly. It's a bit too fast to respond while on hook tbh. Make it maybe 2 or 3 seconds? I believe it's 1 now

Spirit's a special case, honestly. I think most people who are objective or try to be with balance can see she's a problem. But it's an issue with the very design of her power.
Freddy is STILL a better clown than clown which is kinda sad, even with the snare nerfs and the clown "buff". Also the sleeping part, remember that current Freddy gets that for free. Survivors fall asleep passively.
I agree that the new add ons are pretty pathetic, but I have no idea what they could have done to make them useful. They clearly are aware snares were a problem and didn't want to make you able to just have the last version of freddy with add ons.
Freddy's a hybrid killer, he has elements of several different killers, by design conventions he -should- be weaker then them individually. Jack of all trades, master of none.
Yeah spirit needs attention and I'd much rather the Devs address someone like her rather than a killer a few notches down personally.
Clown yes he is better than but clown is one of the weaker killers overall, sadly. He needs a lot of love tbh. His yellow bottle was not what he needed.
Despite him putting survivors asleep eventually, other trap killers don't have a requirement like that. They can just use traps while he has to hit a survivor first or wait for a survivor to be asleep.
To me though he is still outshined almost across the board by most killers, not even a jack of all trades imo. Id personally put him in bottom 5 or 7 killers now honestly.
I'm totally fine if they wanted to change how people played him but just nerfing everything on him doesn't really motivate people to play him that differently. It results in playing almost the exact same, but less effective. If they wanted people to not spam snares I'd hope they would make something else a little better but instead they just made everything else just as bad or worse so he should play similarly but less effective.

I would argue base freddy was fine. But when add ons and perks came into the equation it went from challenging to boring/unfair really fast.
The amount of times I've faced a freddy that's made the game last 20+ minutes, they aren't even good at chases they get destroyed but their slowdowns just slow the game down so much, is unbearable.
He's still a strong killer, played him last night. Still as brain dead as ever, place snare on other end of pallet loop, if they run free hit, if they hit the snare free hit, rinse repeat. No amount of numbers changes will make people like playing against this killer.
There were times he could be tough but I hesitate to want to nerf him when other killers are clearly stronger like spirit but aren't addressed at all.
Right now everything he does someone else does just as well or better.
Teleport to gens is his best thing but lots of other killers have the same or similar ability.
His entire kit (other than teleport) requires survivors to be asleep do be used while other trap killers have no prerequisite with a similar amount of time for set up (and the other traps are actually lethal). He now has additional barriers to use his abilities that already had prerequisites to be used.
I honestly kind of liked freddy having some slowdown, even against him, because it made his addons unique while now they are worthless.
-
Just always assume a killer is running it if you are far away from hook but the 1st or second closest survivor to hook. Before he hooks, just jump in a locker for a few seconds
-
Freddy was good before but not broken. Right now I don't see any reason to play him with the updates.
