Dude this isn't a eSports tournament game. It's.meant to be a casual game. It's not league or call of duty. You are confused about what game you are playing. The majority of players in DBD is casuals who don't want to spend hundreds of hours fine tuning there skills. Some people have lives and other ######### to do.

This is exactly what survivor mains are asking of killers here on the forums. Apparently, it's okay for one side to play however they want, use whatever tools they want and rush their objective as fast as they can, but it's wrong for the other side to even think about it.

You say it's casual, but it's been my experience that Survivors are sweatier than killers and when things don't go how they plan, they behave worse than any killer I've faced.

Killers complain that gens are too fast, Survivors : "Apply Pressure"

Killer slugs to apply pressure, Survivors: "Nerf Slugging"

Killer tunnels to apply pressure, Survivors: "Nerf Tunneling"

Killer camps to apply pressure, Survivors: "Nerf Camping"

Killer goes for 12 hooks and gets 1 or no kills, Survivors: "GGEZ baby killer. You should uninstall".

Killer switches to Blight and Nurse, mastering them after countless hours, Survivors: "Nerf Blight, Nerf Nurse".

When I see people cry that this is a casual game, all I see is that they want an easy time.

I'd willingly put Nurse and Blight on the threshing floor if it meant the maps got the pass they desperately needed.

It's not going to happen, I am fairly sure at this point that BHVR is intentionally using poor map design to prop up the current DBD experience.

Yes, I do believe the current map design is intentional. If things were more fair, then certain people couldn't make their YouTube Videos where they laugh at their opponent. If they wanted things to be fair, it would have been done a long time ago.

Just one thing: DH and Eruption are both having the game in its stranglehold and are sucking the fun out of the game in big, rasping gulps.

Both roles can offer phenomenlly good plays and fun chases without these perks, but they are clutches for mediocre players and elevate skilled players to incredible heights, making them oppressive in unfun ways.

Nuking this two perks would increase the fun and excitement of both roles approximately 10x, if not 11x or eben 12x; its true, I have done the math and it's just as I said.

Yes, there will always be "the next thing to complain about", but this two are so transformative in a bad way for the game, that their nerf should be a no-brainer.

Agree with everything you say but would like to add that it would be nice if maps were actually balanced to be fair with less “god pallets/windows” and more 50/50 pallets.

I understand that the strongest killers would have to be brought down in power if it happens, but I’m okay with that.

  • I don't hate BHVR as a whole. Just the bean counters who pressure the devs to make a much money as they can at the cost of making the game healthier.

Rather than pumping out a new chapter every three months, they could reduce it to every 4 months and focus on things like making maps more fair for weaker killers (While adjusting stronger ones to be more fair), improved optimization (especially for console), new game mode to spice up the monotony of the grind and to come up with ideas to make the game fresh.

Instead, it's pump out subpar chapter after subpar chapter that usually have game breaking bugs but plenty of cosmetics to sell.

If the killer tunnels the weakest link first there is no chance for all other 3 to escape.

That's not a problem with the killer, thats the problem with the survivor, who should learn to be better. Matchmaking issue, not a balance one.

  • They won't because it'll make it harder for survivors to abuse the killers POV and then they won't be able to make funny YouTube videos where they laugh at killers for not being able to see them.

I'd rather have base kit Whispers because I'm bad and I hate looking for people who want to hide most of the match.

  • @Rudjohns said:

The better the survivor aka they still die eventually and the killer still wins since all pallets are gone

It's one versus four. One survivor targeted by the killer isn't supposed to be able to survive if the killer gives up pressure on everyone else. Survivors are supposed to survive by working together with the option of being selfish and letting their team die for hatch.

  • @Rudjohns said:

If tunneling was hard to do, the kill rate would be lower

Tunneling is only as easy as the survivors make it. The better the survivor, the harder it is to tunnel them.

Believe it or not, but not everyone who says not to tunnel or camp is doing so for their own agenda. It's a fact that tunnelling and camping are sure-fire ways get more kills. It's also a fact that more kills increases MMR and pits you up against more challenging survivors. OP is new. They have only played a couple dozen games and are finding their opponents too challenging. When people in this thread are telling them not to rely heavily on tunnelling and camping, they are giving good reasons to a new player. I haven't seen anyone try and guilt them - OP didn't even say in their initial post that they camped or tunnelled - they were giving general advice on how to try keep their MMR at an appropriate level.

OP can take or leave the info, it doesn't matter to anyone. But you're warning OP about bully squads, while simultaneously telling OP to use strategies that are guaranteed to get new players plenty of those sorts of teams. I don't get it sorry. You're pretty much telling them to jump straight into the deep end, while everyone else is telling them to first learn to swim.

With how broken matchmaking has been for the last two weeks, OP will be getting the sweat squads irregardless of what strategies they use. MMR is basically useless, as evident from the fact that the OP has only played a few games with one killer and it's already mismatching him against opponents he shouldn't be facing at all. He shouldn't be trying to keep their MMR at an appropriate level, the game should be doing that for him so he can learn the game gradually.

You're also reading too much into my post about tunneling and camping. I simply don't want OP to feel guilty about it if they choose to do it since there is never a reason to feel guilty about accomplishing their goal. I never told them to make sure to always camp and tunnel and that it's the best way to win, nor did I say that everyone who advised against camping and tunneling have their own agendas. And no, camping and tunneling aren't sure fire ways to get more kills unless the survivors are bad or it's endgame and the map resources have already been used up.

*Sorry Gan, I had to. I haven't seen you posting in a while and got excited.

  • People on the forums will tell you that you can do well with any killer as long as you “git gud” with them. That’s simply not true.

With killers like Doctor, Trapper, Pig and Clown, no matter how good you are, you won’t be doing well against a well coordinated and efficient swf. You’ll most likely be their plaything. Wait until you get a bully squad on comms running Head On, Boil Over, DH and a map offering to make you as miserable as possible.

My suggestion to you is to master Nurse or Blight if you don’t want to feel helpless. You will lose a lot while you build the required experience but once you have them down, survivors will have to take you seriously.

Also, don’t listen to people about not camping or tunneling or slugging. Survivor mains have ways to try to guilt you into thinking about their fun while never once caring or considering if you might be having fun. Heck, they get a kick out of making the killer miserable enough to DC. Plenty of YouTube videos to prove it.

This isn’t saying all survivors are the same, but once you get into sweaty MMR, good luck.

…you speak of killer being the more stressful/less fun role but people who play killer can directly prevent people who play survivor from playing this game. I can’t think of any other game where one player has that kind of power over another. Can you?

The only way a killer can prevent a survivor from playing the game is by body-blocking them in a corner or room with no exit and should be reported. Being camped or slugged is not preventing you from playing the game. You make not enjoy the experience, but saying you're not playing the game false.

I wouldn't bother...we could spell out in detail all the ways to counter blight/nurse and they would still argue the facts. I am suspect of a lot of these "new"/low post accounts of being alts of folks that have been banned or don't want to get banned

Honestly, when someone has a complaint that something is OP for either side or something is too EZ, we should require video evidence from the complainer before we have a discussion. But you know the moment we ask for it, they run away like OP did just now (post after yours).

Ok, gonna be snarky here but… Maybe if you took the time to get good at the ‘non-viable’ killers in the game you wouldn’t need to rely on the 2 OPAF killers to give you easy wins.

Again… it seems like killers act like they are facing killer 4 man swfs all day long and are in such misery that they NEED nurse and blight to just get a win. This is utter hogwash and everyone knows it. Killer players have become accustomed to winning. They get 3-4ks all day long and they don’t want it to end. That’s the story.

My first game today: Blight on Coal Tower. Lethal, Agi, IF, Deerstalker. Iri Blight tag, Alchemists Ring. P47. He slugged everyone. 4k. 0 gens done.

Why can't you take this advice and apply it to yourself?

If you learned how to properly loop killers, how each killers abilities work and what to do in order to counter them, you wouldn't have to make a thread whining about how strong killers are and just get good?

Survivors like you are no different from killers who think all they face are swf death squads. You always think it's the killer that is OP and it couldn't possibly be you or your teammates lack of skill.

If any killer slugged everyone at 5 gens, then the problem isn't the killer, it's the survivors who massively failed.

  • They bring shame to The Bush. I’m sorry for your suffering.

Anyways, I don’t think base-kit Unbreakable is needed at all. It’s one of the few ways a killer could apply pressure. It has multiple counters in the form of perks, teammates and not grouping up.

People want to use the “it’s not fun” well then, if that’s how everything is going to be designed upon, God-loops and Strong Structures like the house in Garden of Pain and God Pallets need to be removed because it’s “not fun” for most killers.

And if it was a toggle option that you could activate or deactivate, if it turned out to be lower quality matches, it could be turned back off.

Yes, give me a sweaty fair match over getting stomped on over and over and over. I honestly wouldn’t mind waiting 10 minutes for a match as killer. I can rub the belly of one of my fluffy turds of fur as they draw blood from my hand while I wait.

I play at 12AM-4AM on NA so that I get better survivors to play against. I can't say they are much better but they stack busted items and map offerings to compensate. Went against a team that's watched too much skermz or something last night, all the parts of a "bully squad" without the skill. Except the Steve, he was semi-competent.

I’m in the MidWest and I play anywhere from 3PM-8PM. It was fine until the last week. All I’ve been getting are fully decked out SWFs and TTVs who I can’t catch at all. And if I do, it doesn’t matter because they’ll have the gates ready, and come for an easy rescue.

I may just need to move on and only come back when I see there’s a new cosmetic for Claudette to earn.

Oh, thank you for saying this. The game has been sending me to this map a lot and I've struggled so much on this map. For a bit, I just chalked it up to me being bad (which I admit I am), but man does that map cause me to get angry. I'll take pallet city meat packing map over that. Don't get me started with how almost all totem spawns are like little light houses that are so easy to spot.

  • It’s just hard to play through a match when I’m obviously outmatched by the survivors.

I know it’s a video game and I shouldn’t take it to heart but it’s very demeaning when you constantly t-bagged, pointed at and repeatedly get locker stunned and just feel helpless because I like weaker killers and use brown/yellow add-ons. And then, when I try to salvage something out of the match by tunneling and camping, I’m some horrible human being that shouldn’t be alive.

Sometimes it’s just so frustrating and disheartening that after the hundredth t-bag I just go do something else for the rest of the night. All I ask for is respect and if they can’t do that, I don’t want to play with anyone anymore.

  • I used to be against rage quitters when I mained Survivor, but I recently switched to killer due to burnout and while I am mostly against it, I admit, I’ve dcd a couple of times .

As a survivor I’ve never really had a killer anger me to the point of making me want to quit. Even being slugged for 4 minutes or face camped until death didn’t aggravate me much. The worst thing that happened when I played survivor is being on hook with the killer nowhere near by and getting to second stage because two of my teammates are hiding and the third is being chased. Then, I’d stop hitting skill checks and move on.

With killer, I didn’t have much problems until recently, when matchmaking decided that everyone I’m put up against for the last four days are exceptional at looping and know how to rush gens and have three done before I get my first hook. Now, I normally have no issue with losing, died a lot as survivor, but when I constantly get t-bagged because I’m unable to catch someone, it starts to feel demeaning. Sometimes, it becomes one too many t-bags and I’d rather DC and go play another game or annoy/cuddle my cats.

  • In celebration of the news I will Insidious Face Camp with Bubba for the next three days!

For the OP and anyone saying they're frustrated I second, third and if possible, fourth never let people gaslight you into thinking you are bad. It's unfortunately a huge tendency in video games for people to say anyone who is new or having an issue to say 'they're bad' when everybody makes mistakes and has issues at times. Even the best players at anything in the world can still improve so always self reflect but don't pay attention to people who try to put you down.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3319763#Comment_3319763

I think some of it is power creep. There are more tools to bust 3 gens now and you don't have a lot of the perks to keep up. For Trapper, I run CI and Deadlock and, depending on RNG, sometimes I still can't get all my traps placed before the survivors bust my planned kill zone and the match is a wash.

As an example, no Sadako so no Call of Brine for the notification, no Nemesis so no LP for a strong early game to disrupt survivors and no Knight so no Nowhere to Hide to catch any survivors stealthing by the gen.

Doctor and Trapper are both low mobility and, honestly, they're outclassed by the newer Killers. Doctor's whole shtick seems to be designed for when DbD was hide and seek and fares poorly in chase and, with Trapper, quite often my match is determined by what CI blocks. I've beaten groups on Artist that I don't think I would have gotten more than 2 or 3 hooks on as Doctor. The delta between the strongest and weakest Killers is pretty significant.

If you're open to trying newer Killers and don't want a licensed one I would try out Dredge. Artist is better but you don't like the bird sounds and the Knight, while I find fun, is still very macro strategy oriented and is weaker than Artist. If you teleport a lot as Dredge you might find the much better map mobility to be a huge relief. You'll also want to maximize your time in Nightfall. If you're going to try a licensed Killer Wesker is both strong and fun (and, if you're indifferent to whether it's a licensed Killer or not, Wesker is stronger than Dredge).

    Anyway, I hope that helps.

Thank you for the advice! I don't let people gaslight me into thinking I am bad. It's just true. I don't think I am terrible, but My attention span is terrible, so keeping track of everything is very difficult for me.

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I may splurge and get Dredge. I'll probably get Poopy Bird Lady for her perks. I really enjoy Devour, especially how, if well hidden, it sends them all into a Panic, so with Pentimento, it would be fine if it got cleansed earlier. I just wish Devs cared enough to hide the totems better. The Knights map is terrible for hexes since they're all out in the open and most maps have them spawn right across gens.

I heard lots of good things about Whiskers, especially about how much fun he is. I'll probably get him eventually, but I'm cheap so I'm waiting for a sale. Hopefully the next killer they release is decent.

The only Hex-Perk worth running is Haunted Ground. They will find them anyway, here u get value if they destroy it. However, if they smell it, you have wasted a slot (but tbh you already do this by playing Hex-Perks). If u use a Hex-Build, u need Pentimento from The Artist. If you dont have this perk yet, do not run Hex-Builds. Then run standard-things like Brutal Strengh, Enduring, Noed and things like Spys from the shadow to be in a chase all the time and dont waste time for searching.

I have plenty of shards (close to 170K), is the Poopy Head Bird Lady (forgive me, I hate the sounds she makes) worth the purchase? Is she difficult to play as?

Who else is worth purchasing for their perks? And as far as anti-loop killers, who is easy to pick up?

What all killers do you have and what slow down perks are available to you?

I'm too lazy to list the the perks but the killers I have are

Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Nurse, Huntress, Daddy Myers, Hag, Doctor, Bubbi Boi, Freddy, Clown, Spirit, Legion, Vommy Mommy, Ghostie Boi, Demopuppy, Mr Cowboy, Pyramid Head, Blight, Trickster.

I did buy some perks from the shop: Plaything and Pain Resonance.

I really just play as Trapper or Doctor, but I waste too much time with survivors just trying to catch up to them. They're always running long before I get to their gen and by the time I catch up to them a gen is gone. I know I should run Corrupt Intervention, but even when I do, by the time I finish setting my traps with Trapper, and down one person, three gens are gone and the traps I set are disarmed.

I'm tempted to just buy an anti-loop killer at this point or suffer playing Nurse until I get used to the headache nausea inducing fatigue.

  • I feel the same. I will admit, I am bad at the game in general. I'm really not skilled in any multiplayer game, but still enjoy playing them, but with my recent experience, playing killer has become miserable for me. I just can't win against the squads I keep getting matched up against.

I read on these forums that "killer is the easiest it's ever been" and that the meta destruction patch has made survivors weak but I haven't noticed a difference against good survivors at all. Well, except that I see a lot Boiled Over perks and Hook Spawn Distance offerings. I don't really have any anti-loop killers and I don't have the new slowdown meta perks that many survivors whine about on the forums. I mainly play with hex perks since nothing else seems fun or interesting, yet gens go by way to fast, especially if I'm playing Trapper. It's gotten so bad that I just feel helpless and tab out after I get t-bagged after a pallet stun for the 10th time. Better to go play Witcher or watch a movie.

  • There is an easy fix to this. After 60 seconds of not doing gens where there are two survivors left, the aura of the standing survivor is revealed to the killer. They can adjust the time to if need be.

Yup, as it is the buff they gave survivors to prevent tunnelling is being abused to body block the one who unhooks. Then they complain about being tunnelled by the killer.

I had someone DC the other day because I refused to chase them and instead, chased the unhooked person who bodyblocked me with BT. He t-bagged to get my attention and when I went around him to chase the body blocker, he pointed at me and dc'd. I'm like, yall can do what you want to do with no care of how annoying it is, I'll do the same.

I just wish I was better at killer because now it seems like MMR is turned off and all I get are swf bully squads with DH, Head On, Boil Over, and hook spawn offerings. I

  • Yes, every time I play Doctor or Trapper and I see all the brown crappy add-ons I have. I really wish they would let us sell or combine them and get a better rarity add-on/item. I also want the quick purchase feature that is suggested. Let me pick the first node and the blood web would branch out from there after three rapid clicks.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/360786/how-to-i-beat-good-loopers-as-doctor

You play a different killer. No seriously - I know that is not the answer you want to hear but it is the truth.

I would say considering all addons Doc is probably the lowest tier killer. I'll be happy to play a KYF game with what you think is a "lesser" killer (usually people say trapper/MM) who are both easily in the "A" tier range if you bring best in slot addons. Trapper honestly should have bloody coil base kit and start with 4 traps in hand. Purple sack should just be start with +2 more in hand and add +2 more traps on the map (meaning he could have +3 total with green +1 trap addon).

Doctor has no good addons like Pinky Finger or Infinite T3. He has no M2 attack so he can't safely run STBFL. Doctor has weak antiloop that can take 6 shocks vs a good survivor to get a hit in worst case scenario. If we could find the best doctor in the world he would pale in comparison to say just a "decent' Nemesis. Doctor would be a complete afterthought to just a mediocre Nurse/Blight.

Doc has : no movement powers, weak antiloop, minimal 4v1 pressure with madness and instead of being more lethal in chases he has detection. Since his kit is based around detection he has a severely low maximum skill ceiling. Detection is something you learn to do by being a good observer as killer. You notice when people touch gens/ and see birds moving around. You don't need Doc's Blast to find people except when you are new to the game.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3315547#Comment_3315547

Doctor is pretty much tied to those addons. When I main a killer I normally run no addons because it gets expensive game after game otherwise. Doctor is a complete joke without some of his better addons (such as the ones he mentioned).

And even then Pinky finger Clown in a skilled player's hands is going to be miles ahead of what a good doctor can achieve. Simply put Doctor doesn't get more lethal with addons - he just sucks less.

This is how I feel after playing him for the last month. He's a noob stomper, but he doesn't really have much going for him. Even after watching some videos last night (I checked out D3ad on youtube) and I still don't see much potential other than hoping the survivors screw up.

I actually like Trapper, he used to be my main killer when I first started, but as you point out, he's add-on reliant. He can get rushed so fast, which basically forces you to tunnel can camp, but I did have some memorable Devour Hope matches with him where I was blessed with a well hidden totem (That I trapped out the wazoo).

I'll watch more vids, but I may just try out others. I did buy Bubba just in case they're losing his license.

  • The purpose of hooks existing is two fold. First, its a way for the killer to kill survivors, secondly, its a way for killers to apply pressure by forcing survivors off of gens in order to go unhook. If they can self unhook, at least two people are free to rush gens while the third distracts the killer. How are you going to compensate killers for the pressure lost?

I don't really care about points anymore. Ranking means nothing and aiming for High MMR just means more suffering so I don't care what they do as long as I get matched against similarity skilled players and I continue to earn the same amount of Blood Points I currently do. An increase to shard earning would be nice.

  • I can't.

    I'm bad at this game.

Movement Killers like Blight, HillyBilly and Oni just shows all my opponents how bad I am.

  • Cause there is no other game like it. I am burned out though. I switched to killer since I got tired of playing survivor for over 4k hours and now I'm getting tired of playing killer. It just feels tedious having to run around the same thing 3 times until the entity blocker kicks in, only to be led to another loop and to the shack. I only like m1 killers so there isn't much I can do.

Good thing though, I snagged Witcher 3 on steam for 10 bucks, so I'll be taking a nice break!

  • Base-Kit Whispers (I suck at finding people without it) for killers. I also want Undying to get buffed to working two times instead of once. Would help with build diversity.

For survivors, I've been wanting action icons for a while and since they're bringing them, um, well......Allow me to store more than one heal with Inner Strength?

  • Claudette already the killer of killers. He Dredge had to recently learn it the hard way. He underestimated The Bush and his winter cosmetic is the result. Now he’s in constant agony.

As for which survivor would turn and kill other survivors…..Dwight. He gets tired of being underestimated and ridiculed by the others and finally snaps.
