I like that they're trying to create a cast of diverse characters with different ages, body types, gender expression, etc. The thing I care about most is having a cute outfit, so I'm interested to see what shows up for her in the store and also get a better look at the unlockable anniversary outfit. The default style looks pretty plain.
-
Thanks, man. Several times during the broadcast, I realized I wasn't paying attention and I was like, "I'll find out from @GoodBoyKaru later." You did not disappoint.
-
I enjoyed the snowman event and the Lunar New Year event, because they gave me simple, easy tasks to do that rewarded me with free stuff. It made me want to play more because, even if my match was awful otherwise, I could always make progress on the event. That's honestly the main thing that makes me excited: feeling like I'm not wasting my time, and I got something out of the match even if it goes badly.
-
There's a challenge where you have to get stuns, and that might have been what they were trying to do, but they did it in the rudest way possible, and that sucks. At that point, your choices are to basically let them keep stunning you or walk away and hope they give up and finish the gens, which also sucks.
-
I think the game is actually designed for everyone to play completely selfishly, but most of us have tacitly agreed not to do that because the game isn't actually fun that way. Which is a candidate for The Core Problem with DBD: the fact that, if you play in the intended way, no one has a good time.
Anyway, I'm right there with you. I wish people would try harder to get a team win, and I wish we were rewarded more for team wins.
-
Same -- I find losing as killer much worse than losing as survivor or losing in other team-based pvp games. I agree with the reasons everyone else has already said.
I will also add that, because it's an aysmmetrical game where people aren't forced to play both sides, the culture around DBD is kind of shame-y and us-versus-them. So, when you play killer and you lose, not only do you take the loss alone, but you can end up getting shamed by the other four people, as if you did something wrong by playing a different character than they did. So, there's losing, but there's also ostracization from the group.
-
I started as a killer main and then switched to survivor. In my heart, I still feel like a killer main, because that's how my first impression of the game formed.
-
IMO, the main issue with No Mither right now is that it's obvious to everyone that that's what you have, so the killer doesn't ever leave you slugged. If it were possible, I'd have a version of No Mither where you start with full health, but you can't ever heal once you get injured, you don't have the Broken icon on you, and you can pick yourself up from slug unlimited times.
-
If I see 3-4 then I'll probably put Lightborn, mostly because 3-4 suggests to me that it's a group loading in with the intention to shine flashlights all match. If it's just two then I don't bother.

Then that should be mentioned in the game.
This. I'm greatful for the info, but I got so frustrated trying to pick up glyphs in normal matches that I assumed my problem was other people getting there before me, and I started throwing matches to look for glyphs I couldn't find. If it works differently than every other glyph challenge, it would be helpful to say that in-game. It would also be good to know how many glyphs are spawning.
I also agree with the OP that there should be another way to find them besides waiting for EGC or wandering randomly..

I feel weird that they made a big announcement on social media, and I hope there will be other inclusive content in the future, but I'm generally happy with this.
IRL, people are complicated, and identifying as gay doesn't always mean you never had an opposite-sex partner, or never liked your opposite-sex partner, or never identified as anything else. So, it doesn't bother me in terms of back story, and I'm interested to see what's in the Tome.
-
I like the Jake skin, too. It was enough to make me dust off my expired Prime for a month.
-
How about a compromise: do FNAF, but make the killer that dumb random chicken instead of Springtrap. Then no one is happy.
-
I would spend a few minutes yelling over the music, trying to explain to my friend that we were about to get murdered. My friend would comically misunderstand me and think I was praising the show. "Yes," they would say, "He kills! He kills! Yes, he's a real one. I know!"
This would escalate until I tried to rush the stage and grab the mic, but I wouldn't be able to get past security. Queue another comic misunderstanding where the security guards can't hear me over the screaming tweens and think I'm trying to get back stage. They see that I have a pass and take me there while I tell them we're going to die. They're like, "Wow, his fans are into some weird stuff," and they go back to guard the stage.
Yun-Jin is backstage with me. She's on a phone call and won't pay attention to what I'm trying to tell her. She just keeps hearing snippets of somebody talking about murder while she tries to negotiate a contract. It starts to feel creepy, because I won't stop -- then she wakes up.
-
It's at the point now where, when I see a banner for new survivor skins, I'm like, "Okay sure, but let me see the back." I can't count the number of times something looked cute until I spun the character around and saw the random items hanging off of them.
At the same time, I understand that it's hard to please everyone -- a certain number of the skins are just not going to be for me, and that's okay.
-
No. It's also getting to the point where I'm almost relieved when I don't want to buy something. In this case, it's mostly because the VFX look like they'd give me a migraine, but there's also nothing about the power or perks that really call to me.
-
Yes -- this is bad enough in everyday situations, but if some random kid decides it's funny to deliberately try to give someone a seizure, there's no safeguard in the game to stop that ATM. I had one chase me around all match one time, spamming a super bright flash in my face, not seeming to understand what a horrible thing it would have been if he succeeded. :(
-
From what I saw on other people's streams during the PTB, it looks like the VFX would make me sick, so no. :(
-
In general, I like it, but there are some interactions where it messes up -- unhooking being the main one. IDK if it's because I have my actions bound to controller triggers or not, but I find that sometimes if I don't immediately release the trigger, it behaves as if I've pressed the button twice.
-
I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to do a save. I also don't think the killer was trying to deeply criticize your moral character by using "greed" as a verb.
FWIW, the reason it would look greedy to the killer is because the killer's viewing you and the Meg as one unit that makes up the opposing team -- by saving her, you're hurting his team and helping your team; trying to take points he could have had when you've already won. One of the weaknesses of DBD is that it doesn't really account for team play, so you're right that whether the Meg lives or dies doesn't affect your score -- but it does affect the killer's score and it affects how much glory people feel like they took from the match. So, from his POV, greed means, "It wasn't enough for you to win; you had to try to make it a total shut-out." Which some people would also consider overkill or BM depending how the rest of the match went.
Again, I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to save, but I also understand how it looks from his POV.

Different types of players are motivated by different things. I'm more about collecting stuff than mastery, so I don't really care if I rank higher than someone else -- I just want to work toward unlocking in-game rewards. In every PvP I play, the only reason I try to fight my way up the leader board is if it means I get more stuff.
I can totally see how players focused on mastery would be frustrated that they don't have any way to gauge whether they're making progress, and I wish the game at least gave people statistics so they could see themselves improve. But that's not what motivates everyone to play.
-
I've never played Bioshock, but I think it has a steampunk vibe or something? I think that aesthetic could be cool.
-
Honestly, the main thing I noticed was just that repairing gens is boring. Playing as killer it feels like they go really fast; playing as survivor, it feels like they take eight million years.
-
Probably less than 50%, honestly.
-
The reason I say no is that I don't think the game has any way to tell the difference between people who rage quit vs they DC accidentally vs they get body-blocked or taken hostage and have to DC to get out.
-
I'm also stuck on this one. I spent all evening chasing people around, but no one wanted to do a double heal.
-
Every time I try to walk toward something, I think I'm doing okay, and then I suddenly get re-routed in a completely different direction until I don't know where I am or how to go the direction I was originally trying to go. I hate this map so much.
-
I would say the problem is that there's no way to get rid of it for good. Maybe the Boons should have tokens or something -- you can only relight them until you run out.
-
I mostly agree with the OP's list, but I also think that reasonable people can disagree about what is and isn't toxic. It bums me out that these threads always turn into people arguing about what the exact correct definition of toxicity is as though everyone has to perfectly agree on that before they can try to make the game more friendly.
-
I think there should be a way for everyone to end the game if it goes past a certain number of minutes (not sure what the number should be), since you can get held there indefinitely in some cases. But I agree that, if you could just end it at any time, people would abuse that feature.
-
Maybe they had a gen repair challenge they'd been trying to do all night. That's what I tell myself when that happens.
-
Yes, the six-year-old story sounds like a weird lie.
-
Anyway. I suspect that the rule against going AFK is more about people who repeatedly load into matches that they don't play, because they're farming blood points. I used to see a lot more of those.
I'm actually surprised to hear people describe body blocking the Jigsaw box as being AFK, because the killer is obviously standing still as part of a strategy and not just abandoning the game. (IMO, it's also not a very good strategy).
-
In the entire time I've played the game, I've only had once instance where a Myers I had never interacted with showed up and killed me at the exit gate. The rest of the time, it was basically the same as the old Red Mori.
-
The perk needed a buff because it wasn't very useful, but IMO it was enough to just raise its stats without adding the 25% drop component. I don't even understand what the reasoning behind the drop component would be except to facilitate trolling by running to isolated locations.
-
Of the two, I think DS was worse, but OG Object was also horrible.
-
I'm also on the shard train.
-
This doesn't really bother me, to be honest, but I'm also not really bothered by dying when I play survivor in general.
The correct strategy, which someone already posted, is to 99 the gens and hope that she either leaves the box or you get hatch. It's hard to get solos to coordinate on that but, if they don't, then oh well. You had a weird match against a weird Pig.
-
If you just want to see an index of all of the skins, the DBD wiki has everything listed pretty extensively for each character, including where they are/were available
-
Okay, but what you're forgetting is that Mikaela is a witch, so maybe forcing you to jump down the stairs and activate Boil Over was her spell.
-
To answer the original question -- I did notice a difference when Bloodlust was turned off, and I mostly noticed it when I played survivor: suddenly, if I just held W and tried to make distance as much as possible, I would get far enough away that the game would keep dropping chase. It seemed like I got remarkably better at chase, but I actually didn't -- I'm the worst. But being the worst was suddenly rewarded, because I didn't need to play around pallets.
-
Be thankful it's not green.

TTVs can go either way. People try to control the impression they make when they know they have an audience. If they want to give the impression that they're cool-headed and professional, the TTVs go out of their way to be polite. If they want to give the impression that they're irreverent comedians who can't be controlled by social expectations, they go out of their way to be rude.
Personally, I know there are a lot of people on TTV who no one has ever heard of, who are just trying to break into streaming and not really doing anything wrong, so I don't care if someone has TTV in their name. But I think some people probably imagine the worst, rudest possible version of who it could be every time.
-
It's much happier for my controller and it feels more like I'm doing something.
-
Cool, so, the basement stairs count as a "great height" for Boil Over, but in order to fall from a "great height" for a rift challenge, you have to climb to the top of a multi-story building. Glad the terminology's consistent.
-
Hear me out -- what if Sadako is the survivor and the killer is whoever put her in the well?
I mean... that's not what I expect. I expect the unholy child of Nurse and Spirit. But what if?
-
I'm happy about this too, but I'm afraid to talk about it in case it's a mistake.

You can read "You" as "Someone". Not you specifically.
And well, my empathy might be quite low for Killer players currently, because of the constant complaints and hypocrisy. (And use of unfun playstyles.)
You can just say - Boil Over is a strategy. How about that?
Boil Over might be the first Perk which actually hinders the Killer in a way that they cannot make BPs. Obviously, still more than a Survivor getting facecamped, but usually only Killer players are able to ruin the others experience by not letting them play. The worst thing Survivors were able to do is being annoying. But they cannot really hinder the Killer player to get points or to win.
But now with Boil Over there is a big outcry (which will go down soon, since not many players will run Boil Over anymore after it loses the "new"-feeling) - because suddenly a killer player might not be able to get Hooks. So maybe Killer Mains will stop parroting "It is a strategy" to highly unfun playstyles. Because it is equally a strategy to play Boil Over and spam Map Offerings which benefit the Perk.
Hypocrisy.
IDK where "suddenly" is coming from. Bullies always try to block killer players from getting hooks -- now they have another tool to do it. The way that this particular perk can be abused is pretty concerning, IMO.

Playing the free track is really rough, and it feels like that's intentional, to push you to buy the paid track before you know if you'll complete the rift. In this case, though, almost everything on the paid track looks horrible to me, so I don't think it would enhance the experience.
-
I don't care that much about charms, but I appreciate that somebody is putting work into at least some of them. There's some cool-looking stuff mixed in with all of the metal circles.
