"If it's giving them a status effect IE, blindness, hindered, and so forth, would you not want to cleanse against that instead of just being broken?"
Nope, I think most wouldn't. Bar a couple, most the status effects in the game are pretty weak. Now if in your idea you picked a specific status effect then we might agree as some are pretty good. Which more specifically?
"And the fact if you do end up having corrupt purge and don't pay enough attention, all they have to do is stun you and it's gone."
I think the Corrupt Purge is in a good spot, I wouldn't want it nerfed or buffed. I think it's strong but it has counter play and is already asking a lot to get it. I'd like staying infected/broken to be more detrimental and encourage cleansing more. This is what you're going for, I'm just not sure about the idea yet is all.
"it just sucks that you're working with half of your power and the other half is easily taken away."
Well if you were getting the Corrupt Purge more often this wouldn't be as big of a deal as it is now.
My issue is, yes it's a good power to get corrupt purge. But I wouldn't mind seeing some add-ons slow survivors down just a little bit, IE perhaps healing or gens. But not both in one (I don't want to see another slow down freddy build while Plague can already use thano and dying light. Annoying to see..) But seeing 6 of her add-ons being based around Corrupt Purge, which are mainly duration. Minus Iri seal and ashen Apple. With one makes you get corrupt purge from fountains faster and movement speed increase while holding it. I don't see the point really if I'm being honest. You basically have to HOPE the survivors cleanse. Or you run Ashen Apple and worship tablet. So basically vile purge, get everyone sick. Get the fountain, hope you can down 2 or more. If you down all 4, then you basically will de-pip because you could've ended the game too quickly.
-
I suppose my main issue with the Plague is half of her add-ons revolve around corrupt purge...and you basically need a survivor's permission to get it unless you run iri seal
-
To be honest, Lerys could use a rework, and it does make sense to rework it since doctor is getting changed. I'm a bit excited to see what they'll add. Maybe some easter eggs
-
@Marcus said:
I see much more survivors cleansing lately, even in red ranks. I would say that the no cleanse meta is kinda gone, at least in my experience. Tho her deviousness and emblems could certainly use a buff.
I think they need to work on some of the deviousness in certain killers. Some get it very easily, meanwhile others struggle to even get 3-5k. You can get it easily on doctor, freddy, legion, spirit and a few others. Meanwhile Plague and Pig and maybe a few other killers like Bubba (though you can just rev up the chainsaw and move around with it to get points) have a struggle. Sure you can spend the game puking on lockers, gens, pallets, windows but it's only giving 25 points per. And then you get I believe 300 for infection damage once fully sick. So that's what, 1200 for all four survivors?

"Most of the time unless you go against survivors who don't know how to play against a Plague, you're just using half of her power. It's easy to loop and dodge her vomit if you can get in a corner where she can't touch you with vile purge"
None of this I disagree with.
You just listed off issues with Plague, you didn't answer any of my question. Why would the changes you are presenting fix the problems we have agreed on? "How would it not" isn't an answer. I don't think your changes fix her problems which is why I was wanting you to elaborate.
If it's giving them a status effect IE, blindness, hindered, and so forth, would you not want to cleanse against that instead of just being broken? And the fact if you do end up having corrupt purge and don't pay enough attention, all they have to do is stun you and it's gone. Which is my biggest issue with Plague. I love Plague, she's my favorite killer, it just sucks that you're working with half of your power and the other half is easily taken away. And then you hook one or two people, if corrupt purge is still active and the other survivors are clear across the map, you either A: Attempt to find them and injure them. Or B: wait for it to go away to puke on the feet so the infection timer can start going up once unhooked.

@Blueberry said:
How would this make her better?
I mean, how would it not? Most of the time unless you go against survivors who don't know how to play against a Plague, you're just using half of her power. It's easy to loop and dodge her vomit if you can get in a corner where she can't touch you with vile purge. So if you want to go purely for vile purge, you'd want to use incensed oitment with infected emetic or rubbing oil. The only games I came close to a perfect game with her was using iri seal and devotee's amulet. Even at that I had to let people get back up just to mess with them more in order to gain more points.

Is this just a list of nerfs? Looking at your name this feels like a troll.
Not sure where you'd get the idea that it would be nerfs. Survivors have no intensive to cleanse against a plague in the first place. And when they do, they'll find where the gates spawn, cleanse on the other side of the map. So by the time you go to a side where you could get corrupt purge and go back to the gate, they're already long gone. So most of the time you're just using half of the plague

yeah makes sense, i agree
I have a friend who's stupid good on nurse and can still destroy without using add ons or perks. And I believe that if a killer is put in the hard category, it should be just that, hard. Giving the person using the killer and is good at it more rewarding.
-
I've basically been farming with survivors the entire event. I just add the points evenly between survivors and killers. I was able to get 6 new perks for survivors and add points in to get more perks added to some killers. It's really a win win imo.
-
It seems like a good idea. However, it comes down to how accurate it would be and if they would want to do that. I know a few people that just put a dot on their screen to know where it'll go. However, I think it'd be a good option to enable or to disable crosshairs
-
To be honest, I wouldn't mind the idea of barricading yourself in from the killer. Make it about 4 seconds to break it down, gives the survivors a way to escape. However, I highly doubt it'll be implanted. I wouldn't mind getting stunned by having the door slammed in my face. Or stepping on some legos
-
Here's my thing, I'm sure some people aren't trying to be toxic by t-bagging. I don't exactly appreciate someone doing a t-bag when I didn't tunnel or anything. T-bagging just because you got a close pallet stun means I will go Liam neeson on you. Flash lights, I don't find to be toxic unless they're all ganging up to get flashlights on you. DS I will only find toxic if someone goes in a locker just to get you to open it. However, if I'm running DS and I go for an unhook and I know the killer will attempt to grab me. Well, I unhooked someone and basically let them get a hook on me. Worth it? Maybe not. Would do it again? 10/10 of course. But being toxic goes both ways. If a killer is being toxic, then be toxic in return as a survivor.

Pretty much, and now with the way rank reset works, alot more people that shouldn't be in red ranks, will be there considering to get back where they were they need to play less(If you are a red rank you go from 1,4-5 which is just not enough at all and that goes for all different colors of ranks except brown i think)
Which sucks. I've made it to rank 2 as killer but honestly, it just wasn't really fun. I had a decent amount of knowledge on the killers I normally play as. But not exactly confident enough to run some of them without ruin. And I feel the difference between a good killer and a great killer is the ability to play without ruin. Granted, some killers you do need to rely on ruin (even though at times I wonder why I even run it since some games it lasts 16 seconds or less)

Red ranks aren't even red ranks anymore lmao. They are just a bunch of urban evading claudettes and neas in my games. Also what addons do you use,and how many hours do you have on her is a big part in how you play nurse which you yourself probably know already. From my experience you need hundreds of hours with nurse to be even decent with her, especially now with the recharging blinks which slow you down alot.I agree she is still the strongest killer, but how high the skillcap is for her just isn't worth the time and investment into learning her IMO and you are better off playing other killers(freddy, billy, huntress etc.)
Unfortunately, this is so very true. I remember getting into red ranks by playing Plague before they reworked the ranking system. And this was without using dying light, thano combo. However, anyone can get into red ranks and basically play against the same people they were prior. Granted, even before the ranking system change I feel like some people didn't belong in red ranks
-
If I'm being honest, you have to be GOOD at nurse for her to be the strongest. Basically, they gave her a higher skill cap so people who were decent at best can't really do what they did before. Which, honestly I think is a good thing. Same with spirit. Spirit is still good but you can't snowball win like you used to imo

Why do you think this is a nerf?
Because of what they spoke of previously. Which basically they're changing it to where he doesn't have a stance (I'm in favor of that) for a shock that is from my understanding his terror radius that has a 60 second cool down but is an instant madness tier up. His iridescent king add on won't give exhaustion anymore but instead will do a counter clockwise skill check. But they did say none of the changes they mentioned are finalized and that they may do other tweaks. Honestly, I'm kind of excited to see how the doctor will play out. He's not super weak, but more annoying like legion was in the past. I've actually been playing a bit of legion and not as bad as I would've assumed that it could've been. Definitely fun to play as.
TBH I think people always assume that the killer is getting nerfed...if you're honestly good at the killer, or have a good understanding how the powers work and how they interact, any one of them can be viable. I don't want to see easy mode killers, I enjoy playing killer and enjoy a bit more skill while playing them.

Exactly, make some huge maps a bit smaller so you dont spawn furthest from your hex to find it takes more than a minute to get there. The inside and outside idea is good but again, both would have to be reasonably good to use, which means a big size map to fit boths potential.
If there's one thing I noticed most killers that have indoor maps are generally favored to them. Maps that are more out doors are generally favored to the survivor. Maybe if they did a best of both worlds it'd become more balanced to both sides and then the numbers could show what's really strong and what isn't. If I'm going to mount ormand and I know I am, I'd pick a more mobile killer (freddy, or spirit. Most likely freddy and not forever freddy..disgusting) I feel those are more balanced on larger maps since they can still get around easily. However, on smaller maps they absolutely dominate. I would just love to see the game become more skill based and mind games instead of knowing what's unsafe and what is.
-
I honestly feel your pain on that. Poor map design I think is what really takes most skill from the game. Either the map is overly killer sided, or survivor sided. I had a game on cold wind against a 4 stack (really optimal btw) one had objected and it was a brutal match, even playing Freddy. Now, I'm not saying that a good loop should be removed from the game, just make it a little more mind gameable. Imagine having a map that's kind of a mix of Hawkings and either coldwind or mountain resort. I wouldn't mind seeing a map that's out doors and indoors tbh. Have the gens split up in between the layers
-
Forever freddy I wouldn't say is toxic, just annoying. Also, people saying that placing snares around loops to catch up to people doesn't take skill, news flash: neither does running basically a really good loop or pseudo infinite loops. It's a good way to shut down loops that take way too long and you either give up so you wasted your time or you move onto another person who can just run over to the next best loop.

As long as they are somewhat true to history I don't see a problem with it. I think it's pretty dope some of the badass native American warriors. The face paint, the weapons, the outfits, their tactics in warfare. Other games have done it with no issues (Killer Instinct's Eagle and Thunder come to mind).
Honestly if people get offended by it that's their problem.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/967562#Comment_967562
Wendigo would be cool too. But a native American warrior seems more interesting to me.
So do you mean a native american like a Mayan or Aztec? That would be pretty sick. The mori could be taking out their heart of something with the weapon. Granted, I know that was typically the priests that did that in human sacrifice rituals.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
I think a native America killer would be cool. Someone who was a warrior during the time when America was first being colonized. He would be a bit like Nurse or Plague where he is not a malicious killer, just someone that kills for what they believe to be the greater good.
And if we are going with American history, a Civil War era soldier as survivors, specifically someone from the Confederacy. Kind of like the kind of person you'd almost cheer to have killed in a horror movie. IDK it would be interesting to me to see that. Plus it seems cliche to go with the Union for this kind of stuff honestly.
Maybe something like a wendigo. Like shape shifting abilities (only with the power)
-
I've been using surge and ruin on Legion. Surge has put in some good work especially if you can deep wound everyone, go to one person, down them. If they're moving away from a good number of gens, I don't even bother. Reason for surge is that way I can get an idea of which gens were being worked on and where I can go to check. Corrupt intervention is also very useful if you want to block 3 gens off the start for a good minute or two. One shot killers, you could possibly use surge for M1 downs and then thrilling tremors (or if you have a good mobility killer). However, on Freddy I only use pop and not ruin. The build I use is Pop, BBQ, Brutal strength and STBFL.

Yeah, and assumes they're all in comms instead of the possibility that, random people, have actual skill and work together, and just MAYBE are better than them.
But that HAS to mean its sweaty tryhards ruining the game. No ez 4k = ruined game.
I mean, it's really as difficult as people make it seem to be to win against a SWF. Unless they're very optimal and know when to leave someone behind. But if I see that the people I'm going against are really good, then I have to rely on slugging (I don't normally enjoy doing it, but if I want to win and see the out come, then I want to see both sides at the best) and surprisingly, most of them don't get toxic about it. Because it comes down to knowing both sides want to win and are going to do w/e we can to do it. For me to consider a 4 stack SWF sweaty, I'd be looking at a map, flashlights, med kits and possibly a key. With object of obsession or w/e. BUT it is in the game. People need to learn how to adapt to those situations. Even as a killer main sometimes I play with my survivor friends so we can bully at times...it's how the game goes
-
Because the devs basically said the size of the player base on each platform isn't enough reason to make another game mode or to change anything. The ranking system is out of whack because of the lowered population almost anyone can become a red rank
-

You said sweaty tryhard swf. That's less than 10% easily. Do research before ranting hon.
I think this guy is just salty he's probably losing games against good solo que survivors.
-
You do realize that a very small percentage of players on DbD you go against are a 4 stack SWF, right? Not all of them are that difficult to even beat. And the only ones I really lose against are the stupidly good ones.
-
If I have streamers, I'll attempt to farm. However, I've had games where they didn't want to farm, so I'll play normally. But the thing is, if you know they're camping, don't go for an unhook
-
If you're a good nurse, she can still destroy people. But the problem is, I don't think most people who played her previously were as good as they once thought. That being said, yes nurse is kind of garbage right now

Are you sure you are understanding what I'm saying? I don't mean counter play when I say counter. I'm talking about how many totems are left.
Then word it differently. Saying a perk to counter totems isn't a good way of putting it. A perk that says how many totems are left on a map would be different. IE, a perk that gives tokens saying how many totems are on the map.
-
Of course I'd have to say Plague. She's got that strut
-
@arslaN said:

Small game has no totem counter. You could use detective's hunch or maps but no one has infinite maps so no need to bring that up really.
It's just another case of, swf gets free info but screw solos. I said this before, a totem counter isn't necessary. The game should play a sound or something for both sides when all totems are cleansed. That would be enough to make it more fair for solos.
It gives you an idea as to where a totem is. You're telling me survivors, especially solo survivors should have a way to counter totem perks? So you just want to basically remove totems from the game right off the get go. Imagine what that would be like with SWF. If a map doesn't have the burning barrels, even I can find a totem fairly quickly just by listening for sounds of a little fire.
-
There are totem counter perks though. Small game. You could even run a map using detective's hunch. What more would you want? To make a perk that becomes useless as soon as it's broken become even worse?
-

The game is such a huge mess right now.
If you check out YT highlight compilations or similar, you can see that atleast half of them are just showcasing bugs, its not even funny anymore.
A lot of those were older videos. And the bugs aren't as common as people like to make them to be
-
Shadowborn is alright. If you want a good FOV I'd probably use monitor and abuse. Or maybe even sloppy butcher instead so it gives a slow down on how quickly they heal. I'm currently using Nurses, BBQ, Ruin and STBFL so when people want to try and body block, plus if you can stalk your obsession you don't lose 4 stacks to down them
-
To be honest, I don't really think iri head is a problem. And I don't believe there are a lot of people playing the huntress that I'm aware of. However, iri head has been around for quite some time and I doubt they're going to change it for a good while
-
This is why mobility killers and killers with good one shot potentials are some of the best ones out there.
If I were to go to mount ormond resort as Plague, I'm most likely going to lose. If I'm playing a killer along the lines of Freddy or perhaps Spirit, then my chances of winning is higher. Unfortunately, the problem will probably never be addressed.

Panda Costume Feng Min
Daisy Dukes Dwight
More emotes for both roles. Creepy nod, “No” finger wag, and thumbs down for killer. Distracting shout (with a 2 min cool down) for survivors.
Trapper starting with 4 traps, and being immune to his own traps.
Devs keep to their word and iron out a lot of the bugs, optimize the game for all platforms and finally introduce crossplay.
People stop complaining about things that the devs have already addressed.
Pretty sure there's one we already have called dead hard. Having a healthy survivor dodging is too rewarding in my opinion counting the fact there was already time put into a chase.

Honestly, even if you play killer at purple and higher green ranks, you'll go against red rank survivors.
-
This game is mostly RNG based. I fail to see how you can have a competitive game that's RNG based... Plus I don't exactly feel that the ranking system is completely accurate, you can just grind hours to get a higher rank and there are many people that don't exactly belong in those ranks.
I'm talking about the red rank potato survivors and killers. So, again how is this competitive besides the fact there's always a rank system implemented?

#########? U trolling. U shot yourself in your own foot.
Do you know how easy it is to find a lit totem when people aren't talking? It's a lot easier. I can just walk, hear a small little fire sound then cleanse. If I'm playing with friends, they don't really care about winning, more about having fun
-
The reason it's in the game is because there hasn't been a fix on gen speeds. Two survivors on one gen is 45 seconds. Little bit less if two people have prove thyself so there's at least two teams working on gens. Of course this doesn't count if someone is being chased by the killer.

Team? I just do it whenever friends randomly ask me "hey want to SWF." It's not a "team." So please don't label them as sweaty survivors. It's easier to do solo cause it's easier for me to listen for food steps and sounds since people aren't talking
-
Maps, detective's hunch. I do better on solo survivor than I normally do SWF. I feel like people rely on other people too much rather their own skill....which is kind of sad.
-
If I recall correctly pointing at another survivor if you miss a skill check on a gen either means go do another one. Or "how could you miss a skill check." Pointing to the killer can be either trying to farm or if farming "hook me." And if the killer chased you for awhile it's a way of saying "go chase someone else" because they haven't hit them once during the lengthy chase. Those are usually my interpretations

Lmao. I wouldn't mind seeing a ruin change. Like make it to where it doesn't regress if you don't get a great skill check with a slow down to gen progression but where it doesn't stack. I don't want to see it being abused with thano and dying light.

yea but im wondering what they do after going through all non dlc characters.. unless if they release some new free dlc in 2020
It'd be funny if they did release new free characters in the future. But doubtful. What I really want to see is some good new killers and survivors with perks that're better. I understand some perks are there to be gimmicky but Demogorgon didn't really have any great perks. I think Nancy was the only one some good perks and steve had one good perk. Oni's only two good perks I would say are nemesis and blood echo but are niche. Yui's best perk is probably breakout.
If anything I'd like to see more killers that apply status effects seeing as the only two we have right now that I can think of is Doctor and Plague. Honestly I'd love to see them add a killer that you can set something up and grab a survivor. Kind of like isolating one survivor from the others for x number of time.
