  • Unless they rework the map designs, probably not. But let's be honest, it's a 4v1 game. Not a lot of esports games have an actual team vs one person. So unless they make larger dynamic maps with say an 8v2 then, probably not

Legion is semi terrible but some of legions add ons are borderline useless

Yes, this is true. But the thing is, Legion has been terrible even on his release. He was broken on release, then they changed him enough so that the things that made him uncounterable weren't a thing anymore. So I honestly don't see how it could be said that betrayed us because they never stated they were going to give him any big changes. If they said they were going to but never did, then I'd understand people getting upset

It was said on stream at 1:09:00, that's the timestamp on the latest QnA

They basically said there's no plans, but there's no plans not to update. Basically they're going to see where he goes and feedback. Thing is, right now they're working on changing doctor. And I've had good games as legion in purple ranks. He's not terrible. I like him with blood echo

  • So, it's an instant tier up. So if you go from T1-T2 is pretty good.Wait 60 seconds, you can get them to T3 (if you're lucky you can get 3-4 of them). Along with changes to add-ons which'll make things more interesting especially with the iridescent queen. I'm more interested to see if they'll change how some of the other add ons work.

  • If I recall correctly, you can help finish it even if it's at the last little bit of bar

  • From my experience with SWF, you have a few types you encounter. The well coordinated ones who have hundreds of hours in the game that fall into the subcategories of 1: Wanting to win and will bully the killer as much as possible. 2: Wanting to have a relaxing game. Sure they want to win but they won't be toxic.

You also have the ones who don't really care about winning.

And then you have the toxic ones who'll basically call the killer out for basically anything they felt they did wrong. I've run into 2-3 stack SWFs who basically would accuse the killer of either camping, or tunneling.

I feel some people just have the stipulation that ALL SWF are overpowered. Some can be, but honestly I like the survivor's to be a bit of a challenge. Personally if I do SWF we're there to have a good time.

  • Hag is one of THE most balanced killers imo. Her movement speed is the same as huntress. Doing early traps around corners, strong loops and putting some near hooks makes her amazing. If you truly are going a 4 stack SWF, they won't even know you had a trap there. Use perks like monitor and abuse, save the best for last and you're golden. Grandma's heart and waterlogged shoes are my two favorite add ons for her. Especially on coldwind farm where there's good strong loops. You chase them, they try and go through a window but SURPRISE, it's blocked off and then her current terror radius goes to 0 while the triggered trap's is at 16 meters.

  • I believe on the killer's side on overrated would be Hex: Ruin and possibly even enduring (unless you're paring it with spirit fury but that's two perks you have to run to make them work really well.)

Ruin is better for more M1 killers than it is ones with mobility.

For their underrated, I feel like bitter murmurs and possibly even rancor could be a bit underrated, especially if you're new to the game.

Overrated survivor perks: Self-care (pretty obvious why), DS (Higher rank killers don't really eat it so it's kind of a waste since they'll all assume you have it) and I would say balanced landing.

Underrated: Lithe (it's like a sprint burst but if you can get it on the window on the sweet spot it's pretty great), MoM (I mean come on, three hits and your next down is a free survive), Prove thyself. (Imagine the killer running Ruin while you and one other person can hit the great skill checks.)

  • Look, I main killer. And after a game of survivor, I enjoy talking to the killer. I've had games as killer where people would talk to me after (mainly because they generally die around the same time). I've made a lot of friends with survivor's this way just by talking to them after the matches as killer.

Scott never said remove the flick past 90 with any further change... the devs did further changes... so that’s why he has a problem now.

Hopefully whatever the devs are further doing fixes everything.

I miss his 90 degree flick. I mean, yes he can still get some decent flicks but you have to hope the map is in your favor for it. Hopefully they'll bring Oni back to where he once was on the 90 degree

  • @FriendlyGuy

"A good way to adjust spirit would be making her harder to play. But instead of doing that they made the counterplay easier. And that's not good. I can crush solos with any killer too btw.

    Solos<Killers<SWF=Nurse

The true underlying problem behind everything balance related is people ignoring the power of coms and building their opinion on matches against solos."

I agree with you on that 100%. She was listed as "hard" but she's really not that difficult to play. If you can master a killer that's labeled as hard, you should get rewarded for it. I feel like the thing they should do to change spirit is to change how her power works. Like, what if you could see survivor's in increments, the survivor's can also see you. Maybe even remove her ability to hear the grunts if they're injured? I don't know, I see them possibly really nerfing her to the ground eventually and it makes me sad.

  • BT got buffed because of the deep wound changes.

As for DS, it's a one time use. So if you're worried about the end game DS, just eat it early on when there's 1-3 gens done.

  • DS is fine in my opinion. Sure it sucks that it wastes a killer's time, but if you have high mobility and there haven't been much gen progression, I'll typically just eat them up before it goes to end game.

MoM is more of a meme perk at this time. It's good, but still meme'ish.

  • @FriendlyGuy said:

He said the nurse base nerf were fine. He also said the spirit nerf was not enough. And he clearly stated, that oni is op.

He got no facts, that prove his argumentation, that's why i think he got no clue.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/924073#Comment_924073

If he would just say his opinion and base it on facts or observations there would be no problem.

He lost me completely while he ranted about spirit and told people over and over again how op she is, oh sorry, how little counterplay she got, completely ignoring the 1v4 aspect. He ignored facts and basic maths at this point only to spread his obviously really biased opinion. Not very cool imo.

Yes, the game is a 1v4. But if you want to make an argument that spirit had no counter play due to that 1v4 mentality, then you don't have much of a grasp on balance. People can generally get consistent 3-4ks with weaker killers once they know how they work, looping and when to break chase. Spirit on the other hand could consistently get a 4k even if you don't know how to play her to the full potential. THAT was the problem with spirit. It was high reward for little skill. At least now she takes a bit more skill. If anything, spirit just needs a rework. It doesn't matter how much they nerf here, it'll either be to the ground or not enough.

I haven't heard any crying, just him stating his opinion.

It is possible for one person to both think that a killer has little to no counterplay and also believe that steps taken by the devs to address that issue went a bit too far.

Just stating that he's not a fan of something and explaining why doesn't equate to "crying". Even when he was lamenting the Oni nerfs, he said at the end something to the effect of "they said they were going to make changes so we'll see what happens", which to me would suggest that he's not mindlessly whining but trying to remain reasonable and approach the topic from a rational standpoint.

Unfortunately people don't seem to get the difference between crying and stating an opinion. I 100% agreed with him there wasn't much counter play to oni and that was mainly due to how big the flick was with his power. After the first fix on it, he felt it was fine. But then they did an even bigger nerf on it which was where he said that oni was basically nerfed to the ground. As for spirit, I honestly cannot see much difference while playing her now. Sure I don't have collision but it's still easy to find survivor's based off of scratch marks and hearing the constant moaning of pain.

But this is all coming from someone who generally mains Plague, Freddy and a bit of doctor/spirit.

  • The problem stems from people always complaining that a new killer is overpowered. And then they change their powers. One dev will say "their power was intended to do that" and another will say it wasn't intended. Either way I still primarily play killer. I mean, Freddy isn't even that bad with his add on changes. I can still get consistent 4ks and that's without running ruin and maybe Swing chains or jump rope. Never together.

  • I think some people just enjoy making excuses for how they play. It's unfortunate but true.

  • I've actually done a few games using blood echo on legion (lower purple ranks at the time) and it's really good in my opinion. As for the spirit lunge, I can't say I've noticed any huge differences though I haven't played her in awhile. But I still get some consistent 4ks with her. As for blood echo on Plague, I love plague and she's one of my mains but I haven't actually seen it as being overly useful since they can just cleanse and it's only 45 seconds of exhaustion so you'd have to be lucky in finding a survivor within that time limit. That's my personal opinion of it on Plague though

  • People who are giving props to last year, that's fine. But their company has had many huge scandals and let's be honest, it came out last year (see what I did there?) and only released one new killer. And has worse reviews than dead by daylight. Sorry, the game is a huge dumpster fire.

Ah, the typical "are you sure they weren't just potatoes?" Definitely expected coming from someone with hex in their username along with killer main. Maybe you should stop watching things in a one-sided perspective and see that dead hard truly isn't as good as you say it is lmfao.

Furthermore, saying DS is good now? No, it really isn't. It's a waste of a perk slot unless you're in yellow ranks where killers will instapick any survivor for whatever reason. Get off your high horse and realize maybe you just aren't that good at the game.

Ah, the good old getting mad because they see the other person is using a meme name instead of something "original."

I have definitely seen amazing DH's it comes down to your experience. DS is still a good perk no matter what you say. Sometimes killers don't care and will eat it just to get rid of it. And I'm not that good at the game? I see you're definitely one of those kinds of folks that think their word is golden. That's perfectly fine. But I guess I must be bad if I can win red/purple ranked games without having to rely on ruin, yeah? Tsk tsk tsk. If only I could have an ego as big as yours. Well you've basically just did an argument without any clear logic behind why you think DH is bad. And don't get me with the "it's easily baited" bs, maybe you need to get good on using it?

Ok something might be wrong with you mentally like a lot of the brick walls on the forums so I will just end this conversation here. Dead hard is not at all a good perk considering how easy it is to bait it out.

End what conversation? That you're probably playing against potatoes who can't tell if it's going to be baited out? Just because it can be baited out doesn't make it a bad perk. That's like saying DS is bad because a killer will slug you for 60 seconds and then it wastes other people's time to go pick you up only to possibly get downed again. Sorry but your argument is invalid. There are plenty of good survivors who aren't so easy to bait it out of. Lot of people will disagree with you on it being a bad perk. Sorry bud, that's your own bad opinion

  • Tapp. I mean, look at him. I'd buy a used car from him that had a triple homicide-suicide with some brains still sitting on the dashboard. Also because I can use a lot of jokes with him. Gen Tapp, Map Tapp.

So we're complaining about one of the worst exhaustion perks in the game. That's unfortunate. :/

Deadhard is not the worst exhaustion perk in the game. I've seen people slip up on a loop and just deadhard away to drop a pallet they shouldn't have even gotten. So if people want to remove bloodlust, they shouldn't be so one sided on it. Both things exist for a reason. And if blood lust was removed, then they'd eventually cry for them to nerf Play with your food because then killers would be moving too fast.

  • Some people just won't accept a loss. You'll get accused of camping/tunneling no matter what you do (not all the time.) Sometimes you accidentally tunnel, which I do at times but it can't really be helped if they run straight into you. You can even look up videos of Otzdarva when he plays the hag.

  • I feel the best way to solve the solo issue is implement a voice channel for them in game. Granted I've seen solo survivor's who do really well because they have the knowledge and experience.

I can’t take you seriously if you think infinites still exist lmfao

Infinites don't exist? Maybe not to the extent they once were. But look at the indoor section on coldwind farm for a prime example. There's also so many pallets survivor's can abuse without the need for mind games. Wanting to remove bloodlust would be like me saying to remove dead hard and balanced landing. They're the most free get out of jail card perks survivor's have

  • @aazimuth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/918689#Comment_918689

Yeah because rewarding the killer for doing poorly in chase takes skill too! Nice one-sided observation we got here.

Really now? And dead hard isn't one sided? Do you know how many survivors get a free out of jail card because they royally messed up but "oh look, I have dead hard." If you really want one sided, how many survivors get carried in a mind game because of the red stain or terror radius. Quite a bit. The amount of no brain loops that survivor's also get is pretty ridiculous. When they take those out, then sure remove blood lust.

  • @silverwolf4455 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/918689#Comment_918689

Bloodlust was implemented back in the day as a bandaid for to infinites. Once maps get reworked to be balanced, there isn't a need for it. The killer should mind game not just run around the loop waiting to get fast for 45 seconds.

Try mind gaming at a loop where it's fairly safe and the survivors can clearly see your head sticking up above the corner. If you want to remove the bloodlust, remove the survivor's ability to see the killer's red stain then. Seems fair enough, right? Because then the survivor needs to be able to mind game and not rely on killer red stain or perks like dead hard to get them out of situations because they messed up.

  • I think it comes down to experience on either side.

For me, I generally play killer. It gets stressful when ruin is destroyed in maybe 40 seconds or less (this is if I'm playing a killer that doesn't have much mobility). Or if the survivors play really well and I get maybe 1 kill with 3 gens done.

Now when it comes down to survivor, I think the stress comes down to a few things.

1: Your experience of looping and mind gaming.

2: If the killer is running things to really slow down the game and the 3 gen game. Imagine a lot of stacks of thano and dying light paired with pop.

3: If the killer tunnels a survivor heavily or is just slugging everyone.

  • Look, I main killer. I sometimes play survivor. While yes it isn't a purely anti-tunneling perk, it also serves it's purpose. As a survivor, you need to do anything possible in order to escape. But it also comes down to how much a killer could get rewarded for just tunneling one person at a time. The only frustrating part about DS is when you hook someone, gate gets opened, you get them back down and pick them up and then bam, they've escaped. Maybe to combat it, make blood warden activate when you hook someone when the last generator has been repaired.

  • The ranking system as it stands right now is a mess. That isn't Behavior's fault, it just comes down to player numbers. If there were 100k+ people playing on their respective platform, it'd probably be more accurate. It isn't that I dislike being in red ranks, it just doesn't exactly feel like much of an accomplishment to me. I feel like I probably belong in purple ranks and some do as well. Maybe with crossplatforms it'll change it

  • I like PT for the exta blood points along with getting gens done a little bit faster. Having two people who can hit great skill checks or maybe miss a few with ruin up makes it so much more fun.

  • @badster While yes it can break some maps. But it also comes down to map design. There are killers like hag who have lower movement speed. Imagine survivors using the coldwind farm loop. Sure you could put traps down but soon as they notice that they'll just move to another spot. And no, I'm not talking about cow tree

  • Why remove bloodlust? If you remove it then you basically let survivors abuse multiple loops without taking any sort of skill. A lot of those maps are fine, I just don't really like ormond.

  • Saying Mori's are the bigger problem is a bit of an understatement. Imagine going into the game as a killer, not camping, not tunneling and playing the game in a normal way. Survivors are better at hiding and then two gens are left and they all hop in. Meanwhile imagine using a mori and just killing people as soon as they're unhooked. I feel as if both should be reworked but due to achievements they can't. I feel like keys should only be able to open the hatch if all the gens were completed and mori's should only work if they're on death hook.

  • The better question is, what were they thinking giving him an M1 attack. Change him to where he only gains blood passively in order to use his ability, but it only lasts for 20 seconds.

  • I can get your frustration, however if the killer seems too good to be true, then that's probably the case. I actually absolutely love playing Plague. However she's more niche and not exactly the best killer out there. Maybe one day I'll finally get a Plague rework or a buff. I tried Oni for a little bit, he's fun but not really my style. What you also have to understand is most killers that have high mobility generally get some kind of "nerf." I knew immediately that they were going to change the flick. I just hope they don't nerf his power.

  • I honestly couldn't watch more than 2-3 minutes of his gameplay with Jess. Super loud and obnoxious. If the devs are able to do crossplatforms with console players, maybe make new modes and larger maps. Do a 2 killer vs 8 survivors. But if I'm being completely honest, I don't really see the point of having a rank system, it doesn't say much due to the number of people there are, it's not very accurate. You can get to any rank just by grinding. Not all red rank survivors play well or optimally. I've run into some who just stopped doing gens because of ruin and wasted most of their time searching for it. Hit majority of your skill checks as great and it's almost as if there is no ruin.

  • I just put the second one, however it depends on my mood and how the survivors acted. But if I'm about to give last person hatch and they wiggle, I just hook them. Usually if someone DC's within 1-2 gens being done, I just let the rest of them escape and live. There's no reason I should punish them or they should be punished because someone decided to leave.

    >Mind you I got into red ranks playing plague and she's bottom mid tier

    She not. Mid or better.

I honestly can't see plague as bottom tier. But that's my personal opinion.

  • I usually play killer, and the survivors aren't that much stronger. Yes, there are a good few weak killers that could use tweaking to be better. But right now legion is possibly one of these worst killers to play. If they're going to fall high enough off and you're close enough to them, you can hit them before they touch the ground. If you KNOW they have balanced landing and aren't confident in getting to them in time, don't waste it...Don't even use your power to try and catch up to them. His power is more about slowing the game down and getting some information, nothing more, nothing less. Spirit is still good even though she's been "nerfed." I believe it's m ore of a balance than anything, same with nurse. Learn how to mind game people a bit better and how to counter loop. I generally play Freddy, Plague and a bit of spirit/doctor. Mind you I got into red ranks playing plague and she's bottom mid tier.

  • My only issue with it is, two survivors are left, one is fully healed, one goes on hook. Healed one opens the gate, unhooks the guy. I can't even get that kill because DS says "haha no"

Thank you, it was just a small idea of mine lol, some people are so butthurt

Maybe be a bit more specific and give reasons why

  • @Andreyu44 An opinion, yes. But no constructiveness to it or giving an explanation as to why she needs a nerf. Every killer has ways to be countered (most of them) and plague is basically one of the weakest killers unless you give her corrupt purge which is usually the survivor's idea to cleanse. So I'm wondering about their logic in this

  • Survivors: Killer shouldn't slug to get a win! It's not fair!!!

Meanwhile, you have perks like tenacity, unbreakable (which is meta for anti-slugging) along with many other perks to counter slugging. But you think that one of you deserves a free escape because the killer isn't playing the way you want them to? Then play killer.

I had a game where 3 people DC'd because "we needed to deplete our med kits and you're playing plague." Well, I hope your friend enjoyed not getting the hatch either. So thank you for wasting add-ons and an offering. Survivors need to stop acting like they own the game even though the devs kind of make this more survivor friendly.

  • What makes you even think for a second plague needs a nerf? If anything she could use a rework or a buff due to being weak without corrupt purge.

All survivors have to do is not cleanse until 1-2 gens are left and know how to loop.

  • So if you run both Swing chains and jump rope, it's 24% increase in speed. A full stack of Dying light, Thano with both those add-ons would make doing one generator about 150 (along with everyone asleep) So at most people are probably taking 110 seconds+ to do a single generator by themselves. An issue I've noticed with some survivors is with just a little bit of repairs to go, they'll panic if the killer comes by, miss the skill check, regress it by 5% now the other guy who was attempting to finish it can't then may or may not go down due to other person's mistake. If anything I feel like the build punishes too much

  • @Rydog said:

I really don't get threads like this. You complain that the game is too fast, and then you melt down when a build like this slows it down? Which is it?

Also, figuring out how to deal with the other side's tactics is the game.

If a game goes by too quickly it's incredibly boring. Most casual survivors or ones who don't know how to loop for longer periods, I generally will kill and hook everyone within 3-5 minutes. Again, boring. If the game is more back and forth, it's more fun for me.

  • It's actually I believe 25% if I recall. The two I really run on him is either nancy's masterpiece and jump rope. Sometimes pill bottle. However I feel like Freddy is the strongest with the power up to port to gens and kick them..even to mind game them. My concern is the day that Dying light, thano become nerfed due to the strength of them together. Unless however they make it to where they don't stack together. I really honestly don't think thano needs a nerf due to it being easily countered by healing or someone dies on hook.

  • @LordGlint I've definitely had games playing as survivor where the killer would want to extend the game as long as possible. It's really not fun at all. 10 minute games are the best and if you somehow extend the game beyond that without doing all the add-ons and perks to slow it down, must either be putting a lot of pressure or toying with them. The games I like most last maybe 5-10 minutes long. I just don't think that any of his add ons that slow the progression of gens, healing, sabotaging should stack.
