It's funny how people want to complain a lot. Promises get broken at times, those are facts. Not everyone will be happy with some changes or what didn't happen.
However, if it's really THAT bad in some of your views, just take a break from the game and forums instead of complaining about it almost consistently. Where's the lighthearted section of the forums? And let's be realistic, every game has issues and fixing it doesn't happen with a snap of a finger.
-
I doubt that they'll be having people run perks that're DLC base. But it'll probably move from Trapper and Claudette to probably like Wraith and Dwight. I'm assuming they're basing the rifts off the original killers and survivors.
-
So, you want ruin deleted from lower ranks...because? You do realize even IF the devs did do that, you'd still have to go against ruin in higher ranks. So you're going to have to learn to deal with it sooner than later. I suppose higher ranks should remove adrenaline, yeah?
-
Well, this is a rather hard choice. But I'll just assume legion listens to punk so.
-
Hold up. Playing killer is easier? I must've missed that memo in red ranks and high purple ranks.
If you assume abusing broken loops gave the game skill, then I'm sorry you're mistaken. Using an area with 3+ windows, that didn't get blocked no matter how many times you vaulted it. Always had fast vaults instead of what we have now, slow, medium and fast.
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not even that great on survivor, but I've managed to loop spirit. Juke a nurse. And make an oni learn to hate certain loops. Once you know how to loop and mind game as a survivor, you see how killer isn't that strong.
Let's also not forget there are still god loops along with pallets killers can't even mind game with. So, please tell me how again this is because of killers? It's from bad map designs. But hey, remember back when there were insta blind flashlights? So you just want this game to be sided for survivors and not killers. Hmm

I apologies then.
However I still find it redundant that you tried to point out that a good looper can avoid VP be looping, when (as you’ve confirmed by climbing into red with her) the smart thing to do is to force those sorts of survivors to become infected passively via pallets or windows.
My only main problem with her is people don't have a reason to cleanse against her. So you could bring add-ons to increase how quickly people become infected. Or iridescent seal with devotee's tablet. I don't like the idea of having to only use half of a killer's power and being forced to use add-ons to use the other part. That's my biggest issue with Plague. She can be better than what she already is

Lol.
Sorry, but again this an example of either not understanding how to use Plague, or going against Plagues that don’t know what they’re doing.
Firstly, if going against a time wasting survivor, that’s an expert at looping, still in the healthy state, managing to avoid direct VP, then infect the vaults and pallets, and FORCE the vault or drop, even if it means eating the stun. Break pallet, abandon chase, free injured state without even having to hit them.
A Plague shouldn’t be wasting time with loopers because she cannot mind game (not even with her power because of the cool down she still experiences with cancelling her power). She needs to identify opportunities to catch survivors out with their guard down. Which is a reason why I highly recommend players should stick to using Dark Devotion and Infectious Fright. Broken survivors getting slugged, or getting caught out by a Plague sneaking up on them will get annoyed by it very quickly, and WILL cleanse.
That's rather funny. I've reached red ranks solely playing Plague. Saying I don't have an understanding is an ignorant comment from your own opinion. But you have to be honest with the fact there are maps that make it incredibly difficult to get people sick. I'll puke on pallets, windows, lockers to get a survivor sick.
But telling people that a Plague shouldn't waste time with loops or pallets they cannot mind game is the same advice you'd give any killer. Unfortunately like most tall killers, there's a lot of a areas that make it harder to mind game. All you have to do against a plague is go somewhere that makes it difficult to even use your power to get people sick. Most of the time Plague is only using half of her power the entire match or most of a match. Plague needs some changes and you can argue with it all you want, but it's true.
-
Honestly, I liked some of the cosmetics. For the price with some grinding (or putting in a lot of money to get it all. We all know who you are) is alright. I don't know if I would've used any money to get more auric cells to boost the progression seeing as I play the game quite a bit. The last charm they give was pretty nice.
-
I got it on haddonfield playing ghost face. If I had used agitation it'd have gone a lot smoother. Also maybe get lucky on getting survivors that don't really know what you're trying to do and assume you're meme'ing. But I got it on my first try. I think the issue comes down to people trying too hard and attempted just to focus on that one thing. Which is unfortunate
-
I feel like some of the people making comments about Plague haven't really even played her.
Playing "stealthy" is the "counter" to most killers. This also means you're not doing anything. The issue I have with Plague is yes, being broken at full sickness makes it easier to down someone, but she's also so freakin' tall that people are generally able to just loop her anyways. Even if she has corrupt purge, you can just throw a pallet on her, and then she loses the power. She definitely needs some changing.
Also, the way to not even get sick is loop areas that're tight with obstacles blocking her from even getting you sick in the first place. I love Plague, when I first got this game I saw her and said "yes, I want to puke on people." But the unfortunate side is, she's not exactly that strong of a killer unless people cleanse. And most of the time people are cleansing on the opposite side of the map. So you'd have to walk there, walk back. By the time you get back the other gens would most likely be popped.

Honestly they should've just done the Christmas theme lobby and music when the Curse Legacy chapter came out instead of the Japanese background/lobby for Oni.
They never did that with any other killer before and now you do it, with this chapter release around this time knowing people were likely expecting the Christmas "event"
Seeing as he was released in December/Christmas time and I'm sure everyone would've been happy with that
Are you sure? Because I'm pretty sure they did the same thing with demogorgon except for the background change. They added it's chase song at the loading screen. They have oni's chase song and the new map as a background. I'm not sure why that should even be a pet peeve
-
I'm most likely going to get the next rift pass. I mean, it's exta BPs even though you have to grind. And the cosmetics are aight
-
I love playing plague. But I would say she could use either a rework or change (like doctor/nurse).
You puke on people, they get broken. 1-2 gens are left then they all cleanse away from the exit gates and gens being worked on.
I wouldn't mind seeing them change the add ons and how the power works. Instead of breaking them, let them get injured and have add ons effect how being sick effects them. (Like a mix of how pig and doctor add ons work.) At least this will give them an incentive to cleanse so you can actually use the power. Because if I use iridescent seal with another add on for increased corrupt purge duration, entity forbid it because then I'll be accused of "try harding" or unable to use her without those add ons. Which is a shame. Doesn't stop me from doing it here and there. But still, she barely gets any points in deviousness.

Gens regress at 0.25 c/s.
Survivors repair at 1 c/s base with no buffs/debuffs.
So if a gen is 99% it would take (80*0.99)/0.25 = 79.2/0.25 = 316.8 seconds (5 minutes 16.8 seconds) to fully regress.
Basically for every second it takes a survivor to repair a gen, it takes 4 seconds to regress.
Wow. That's pretty bad

this could be a change i would accept with open arms, as long as great skill checks still offered no extra percentage as well.
Yeah of course other wise it'd be a bit too broken. I had a game with purple rank people who just stopped doing gens to look for ruin. And I was the only one doing gens. Like come on, just do the gens. If you're at least in purple you shouldn't have as much problems or know how to just gen tap.
-

it said to be next on their plan chart.
Honestly though, if they could just change ruin so it just slowed the progression of gens by a percentage instead of regression and it wasn't stack-able by other gen slow down perks (thano, dying light) I think it'd make it better. Cause I will admit even having to tap a gen is a bit annoying. But it makes it almost as if ruin isn't there. And if you can hit great skill checks, then ruin is kind of useless

yeah at higher ranks, Ruin slows the game down (just a lil bit), but at low ranks (or when im high rank and this amazing rank system puts me with rank 20's) survivors find that when they hit the good skill check and progress is paused for 3 seconds that it's not worth their time when in fact it is, i would just think if it was reworked to still be as powerful, but this aspect is changed then it will help lower ranks, and people who stay on the gen but still find it annoying that it stops.
Yeah, they really need to fix the ranking system

to answer your question: no they just run around like an idiot with their head cut off.
Maybe they could also revise all Totem Placements on the maps and make them super hard to find, i find that some are harder to find then others like i will find one totem out in the open, while another hidden in a tiny corner.
Ah, that explains a lot then. I think it comes down to when they want to stop being so immersed or feel that ruin is going to make them lose. If one person looks while the others do gens, you should be fine. It comes down to experience though I believe
-
If everyone is running to find one perk, then that's on them. Ruin is strong but also weak because all you need to do is find it, break it and no more ruin. If you have good head phone or good at listening, you can just hear ruin. Most killers around that rank will constantly check to see if anyone is cleansing it so it helps the survivor's in finding it more than the killer. Even maps help counter ruin. Do survivors in those ranks not know how to just tap gens?
-
It comes down to if you really want to be meta or not. Most survivor's run perks like iron will, borrowed time, derisive strike and an exhaustion perk as the most meta choices. But it also comes down to how you want to play as a survivor or killer

You’re right. However, we are allowed to have first impressions of something. That’s what my post was. If Doc goes down the same path Freddy did, then my impressions will change.
I just doubt they're going to nerf him. If anything it's just changing how he plays. Because let's be honest, with dedicated servers you can't really shock someone to stop them from vaulting a pallet unless you time it just perfectly. You can't do it too soon or too late

My reply is based on the information that we have right now.
The counter clockwise skill checks are part of a very rare add-on and they won't be that effective against good Survivors most of the time.
I love the removal of stance switching. It got annoying having to do that every time I wanted to shock someone and it sucked moving at 110% speed.
A 60 second cooldown is way too long for his Static Blast. That's a long time in DbD. All it does is increase the Survivor's Madness tier. That's all. It doesn't warrant a 60 second cooldown. Unless there's some secret ability that justifies the cooldown, then the devs should either lower it to 30 seconds at the most or just bring back the Static Field and buff that. Unfortunately, this is probably going to be ignored (at least the second part) because the devs have showed that they have no clue how to balance this game by prioritizing Survivor fun over everything else. It was better when they were trying to come up with brand new powers and "break the game".
Yes, it's the information they gave. But they also said nothing was finalized. It could be a "nerf" and it could be a "buff." Remember when they said Freddy's rework was going to make him worse when it basically made him one of the better killers in the game? It's a wait and see process and I'll reserve my opinion if it's a buff or a nerf when the final product comes out

Counter clockwise skillchecks is a purple add-on and it's a gimmick, that's not enough to call that a buff and most people including me rate the killers off base kit, they're removing so many things from him base kit and replacing it with weaker versions of it, call it what you will or as the devs like to say it the nice way "soft rework" but there's no covering it that this is a straight up nerf and devs don't want to address it as such.
About the stance change, switching stances was part of the skill gap you had to learn to be a great Doctor player. Knowing when to switch, shock them then switch back to punishment was a testiment of the work you put in to be skillful with him at loops, getting rid of the stance change nerfs him in so many aspects as I explained in another reply.
Also his "Power" static blast does absolutely nothing for him because of the immense cool down duration and the fact that the Calm Add-ons were leaked and seen to be nerfed so the only way to increase his TR is by wasting a perk slot on distressing and for what? A 40 meter blast that people might or might not be in? If you waste it then you have to wait a whole minute before you can try again.
You can literally run whispers so know where people are. They're changing his add ons, so there'll probably be a cool down reduction along with a charge speed decrease. NOTHING they put they said was final. I don't understand why people are just calling this a nerf when it might not even be that bad. It could be a buff with what they do.
-
I'm confused as to how people are already calling this a nerf to doctor. Imagine having counter clockwise skill checks with huntress lullaby (assuming it isn't cleansed right off the bat.) Doctor was already a weak killer. If anything this seems more like a plus to me. I hated having to switch stances a lot to shock people. Now I get a 60 second cool down? Nice. I'm sure the range add ons will be changed to other things. This is basically about a nurse level change which might actually make him better. Don't cry nerf until we see the final product.
-
Do survivor's in those ranks not know how easy it is to do gens and how quickly they can be done? I've had games completely screwed even in purples because someone wanted to get off the gen due to killer pulling up. It's at 95% with prove thyself. Just do the gen. In any case, if they did actually nerf gen speeds, they would have to nerf or change perks that effect gen speed.

Yes and no - in a sense, they made the challenges difficult and limited how much progress you could gain in a single match to reduce the grind when it comes to Rift progress. Theoretically, the more time people spend in games trying to complete the challenges, the less time they need to spend grinding XP for Rift Fragments if they still want to progress after finishing all the challenges, and so the less wearisome the grind to complete the Rift feels overall.
But my issue with it comes down to RNG based on survivor's rifts. I've had games where the team just didn't really want to do gens and wanted to play very immersed. As for killers, it comes down to if you're able to zone survivor's well enough. For example sacrificing 4 survivor's in the basement. Maybe I should try and do this with a T3 myers build.
-
I would've loved to be able to select multiple ones at once. But then it probably wouldn't be much of a grind so it's probably why they didn't do it that way

It is how it is.
Reports like these don't need to be followed up, mainly because the DCing system takes care of it.
I just can't stand when people DC. I want to have a fun game of back and forth...not people just DC'ing right off the bat or later in the game. Accidental ones like your computer crashing or w/e is one thing
-
To me, it depends on the add ons I'm using with Plague. With vile or infected emetic paired with incensed ointment, I'll use BBQ, monitor and abuse, pop and ruin. With iridescent Seal and devotee's amulet, I run Monitor, BBQ, Thano, Blood echo or infectious fright. Add ons can also be changed from devotee's amulet to worship tablet.

Thanks for the insight. I've only been playing a couple of months. I don't know how to do video recording. Do you have to start recording at the beginning of matches? I play on a console.
If you're concerned about that, I'd probably start recording during matches. But if I recall correctly don't the new consoles have where you can just record games after they're over? Or something like that. I play on PC but I feel the need to start recording games cause I've definitely seen some questionable things.

It's still cataloged in the old one.
DCing once with a video will not punish the offender... if they DC in massive quantities than BHVRs old system would've caught him and punished him accordingly.
This is why the support team told you that, because it's already handled by the old system (aka cataloged) and if they continued to do so in many matches than they would be punished. Recording them DCing once won't ban them or temp ban them, that's not how it works.
I really dislike that though. But in the end it's their choice how they want to do it.
-
@FireHazard said:

It depends on the offense, DCing is already catalogs by BHVRs DCing system AND their new DC penalty system.
So for things like that it isn't really necessary to follow up with a support ticket. While other reports like game breaking bugs being abused, exploiting, and cheating would help a lot with an in-game report and follow up with the support team.
No this was before they added the new DC penalty system.

I'd use STBFL usually on killers like ghost face, maybe oni. Killers that have a one shot potential is generally better. However, freddy is also a great killer to use STBFL. Best of luck though, I'm sure the combo can still work. Have you combo'd dying light with thano?

Pffft. Us plague lovers gotta stick together. Although, I'm trying to figure out what kind of build you're trying to go with using STBFL and mad grit. I tried that combo once as a meme build and was accused of hacking because I just kept swinging a survivor around (was also using agitation) and every time someone got hit in front of them, it paused the wiggle timer then I'd just down that person who tried body blocking. Such a meme build but fun
-
I'm fairly sure it does. I don't see why it wouldn't. If you land the shot then it still has the reduced cool down before you can swing again

I actually play both sides.
Even though im only green ranks in killer right now, I play both sides. and yes even some survivor mains have a hard time doing some of them.
Not everyone is a god with flashlights, so maybe just think about that. Im not saying that killers aren't harder im just saying that it could be argued by other people who may think that survivors are hard as well.
No one is in the wrong for stating how they feel so please stop making it seem that way.
Yes I know what I said, that its a choice and not a must..But its also a must that the killer should put perks on that is going to help him get said challenges done. Its not the survivors fault, the rifts fault. At that point in time that is solely the killers fault for not using the perks that are give to him. If he would have used said perks it would have gotten it but he chose not to. And it ending in a "Im not giving it to you, I don't care" "Im not gonna hook you I dont care" battle because of ONE, ONE rift challenge that the killer could have ended the game. started a new one and possibly gotten it then.
I have said I dont know how many times, Im not faulting the killer or the survivor. and I said this AFTER i had posted that because other people have opened my eyes, because yes I was being in the favor of the survivor. BUT the killer had a choice and so did the survivor.
All I am saying is that, there comes a point in the game where you just need to say ######### it and hook them and move on. But this whole, You were dead anyway just give it to him, Big brain killer main #########..Its gotta stop. Thats why the sides bicker and fight so freaking much.
I'll be honest, before the rifts all I ever did was play killer. That being said, I noticed how each side basically use the same perks almost on repeat, which I feel makes the game stale. After that killers that have higher mobility that I play like Freddy, I don't use ruin on.
And trust me, I'm definitely no god at flashlights. But I feel like tome 3 was waaay harder than 4. But killers are going to really want to try hard on basement kills, which honestly doesn't help because then they feel a need to be toxic trying to get it, and survivors will do whatever they can to NOT be basement hooked. If I can't get someone in the basement or all 4 in it, then I'll try my luck next game. I don't even think killers should be insidious camping the hooks either...because someone on the other team is going to DC and then it becomes a 5+ minute argument. Sorry, I don't want to argue with someone on who was wrong or right (it's why I wouldn't be insidious camping.) But not everyone is that good on killer to be able to get basement hook kills. IF you want those, do basement builds where you know when someone is going for the save, you teleport over there while having a perk like make your choice. Down the healthy survivor, redown the other one and either wait out the DS time or just eat it.
And I KNOW both sides will complain about it. Killer will possibly complain about DS and the survivor's will be mad because they're semi camping basement. (not full blown but enough to make it where they don't want to go down there) And some players will just kill themselves on basement hooks (which then makes winning for the survivor's more difficult) only for the killer to either say 1: Oh they're just bad you guys should've played better. Or 2: Survivor's will get pissy about it as well.

Even if they weren't overpowered, and only like a 2% increase or something, some players would still demand people play certain survivors and there would be more toxicity. And then there would be a "meta" and it would just make some Survivors "worse" choices that some players will not play with.
Unfortunately, that's true. But it also comes down to if someone picks a certain killer that they don't want to "play against" they'll DC. I had this happen while I was playing ghost face (I think it was maybe my 3-4th actual game of playing him) and someone was streaming. He and his buddy DC'd because "we don't want to play against another ghost face." (After each game as killer if someone is streaming I rewatch it just to see their perspective and reactions.) I looked back and they didn't play against a ghost face the entire time he was streaming.

Thats honestly what I thought a lot of people would do. LOL
But Ive just seen people throwing on Ins. and camping the basement. lol
See, I've been farming with people on the rifts. I had one person complain to me saying "why would you wait so long in a lobby just to do that?" Because I think some people get really stressed about it and I rather them not have to feel like they need to rush it. Plus we're not getting double BPs for another few weeks. And I know when that happens killer ques are going to be really long and most of them are just going to be try hards. If it's double BPs I'm going to just do normal games and not try and get a quick 4k. (usually I like to farm with people on them cause it's a win win. It's not like survivor's have a good BP perk like BBQ and Chili. Best they have is we're going to live forever)
-
The only killer I can see having more issues in it than pig would be Plague. Plus, she gets a good fair bit of points just by putting the trap on a survivor's head.

that might be a problem since megs a athlete idk what theyd give her they cant make her run faster then other survivors nor make her recover from exhaustion faster theyd be overpowered.
Nah, don't make her run faster. Maybe let her wiggle be a bit more effective. Like I said, just an idea and I did say not to make things too over powered for them.
-
You know, I already know how I'm going to complete this challenge. Step 1: Bring Bloody Party streamers. Step 2: Farm with the survivors, let you know you love and cherish each and every one of them. Step 3: Take them into the basement, no they haven't been bad survivors, but it's time for you to take what is owed to you. Step 4: BBQ and chili time.
-
Survivor's typically have somewhat of an advantage when it comes to hiding. But I think most people play them for certain reasons. 1: Cosmetics they can actually see. 2: Playing with friends and 3: they want to make the killer look hard for them or try and bully.
If I'm being perfectly honest, I'd love to see if survivor's had their own passive abilities. Nothing over-powered. But say Claudette is able to heal the others at a more efficient rate. You know, things that work with the style of perks they have. Because I'll be honest, I'm kind of tired of hoping survivor's I go against are decent enough to out mind game me or aren't complete push overs

I actually did do a video evidence one and was told "Whilst we appreciate your support for the game and your desire to make the game a more enjoyable experience, we must make you aware that disconnecting does not need to be reported. We use our backend analytics to flag and ban players who are constantly disconnecting/leaving the game" so I'm not really sure if you need to send video evidence of then disconnecting through a ticket or not. Regardless I feel if someone sends video evidence that should be enough to put a ban on them. Even if it's just temporary.
-
Honestly, the ranking system needs some tweaks. However since there's not a whole lot of players on each individual platform it's not their main concern. Which is understandable. I believe that when they eventually do--do cross platforms, it'll be more accurate. However...pip systems never seem to do very well imo. Maybe do a board that shows how well people do in each category, or do separate killer ranks for each individual one.

Do you actually think that it's as easy as that? Even Blizzard gets bugs when they do events. So I'm guessing by your attitude, you don't have a lick of knowledge about coding. Maybe don't be an insulting arse?

Oh, I see I was the only one who voted for this. Yikes. Honestly, it's not as simple as saying "we already have these so let's put it in." I'm not sure why people would even vote for adding it due to the fact it's normally the same thing over and over. Plus, how many people would actually be doing the festive hooks and that? We're probably going to get that kind of event next month anyways and it'll still be Winter.
