Yes big time. I love everything about this game. Even the Bloodweb itself is creepy.
But yes, there needs to be a better way of spending Bloodpoints. It really does take too long. I love buying the most expensive addons and offerings. I’d love for there to be a way to at least tweak the auto-buy options. Maybe even a BP shop or something. That’d be pretty fun actually.

The sad thing is, I just recently came off of a break that was due to a slugging epidemic. I've definitely taken breaks when needed. I love the game, genuinely, which is why I always come back. I just happened to notice a sharp increase in tunneling during the event that really bothered me.
It's possible that making an account here has exacerbated the problem, since now I'm seeing a lot of posts with "I tunnel the weak link because it's a legit strategy lol", and "It's not my problem if you're not having fun!" attitudes. It's a sad way to behave, and sad to see.I'm older (43), female, and love horror games, and I always avoided online gaming when I was younger for just this reason. The toxic attitude of TRYING to ruin someone else's experience is frustrating. Maybe I'm too sensitive, but when I play, I want it to be as much fun for everyone as possible. Is it even fun to play a match in 8-10 minutes due to tunneling? Is it actually fun for people to slug to bleed-out for a 4k to ensure without a doubt nobody gets that hatch? I can't imagine having that level of main character syndrome.
I’m a Killer main. I play 60/40 Killer but sometimes 50/50. On one hand I agree with you about trying to give Survivors a good game. My secret? Survivors are my weakness. I honestly just want to give them as good of a time as possible. I see myself less as the Killer and more of a Dungeon Master. Survivors want to bring back a 50% KR? Okay, if that’s what they want, they’re my weakness. I love Survivors too much. I like the KR at 60% for theming reasons but again, Survivors are my weakness.
On the other hand… This game only works if it is scary in the sense that you actually can be eliminated quickly. It’s a really tough rope to walk because the Killer has to be threatening enough without being too imposing. So as much as I hear about tunneling, unless the devs change the game even tunneling has its place in a high stakes elimination game. I’ve said it before in another thread but I think it’s so cool that a Killer like Nemesis can have a vendetta against a RE character and only goes for them during the match.
It’s a tough situation because Killers were in a bad spot prior to 6.1 and Killer has to be fun to play right? In a horror game like this the Killer is often times the main attraction. But on the flip side Survivors have to have fun too. It’s tough finding a place where people playing both roles can be satisfied.

Autodidact for me. It’s soo funny when I’m healing someone and my first stack triggers. I wonder what the other player is feeling when they see a huge chunk of their healing regress with no noise notification 😂 It literally makes me laugh every time lol

I’m not sure if invitations passively obtained count… It might but I’m not sure. It might just be the ones that you can grab are the ones that count.

They are much harder to follow this patch I feel. Also for some reason chases just don't start either. I was chasing someone for like 20 seconds and it didn't proc until I hit them, even though I was literally in hugging distance for awhile.
Maybe UE5 changed some fundamentals under the hood. I noticed that even bloodpools glitch out sometimes where they stop, or don’t spawn for a couple of instances. Idk maybe it’s a luck mechanic.
I also noticed that after UE5 Survivors are able to “whip” their character movement much more aggressively now. You know how you move the camera to 180 the Survivor faster? It feels like that effect has become stronger after UE5.

A few ultra boring survivor matches with the usual "Idk how to win if I don't tunnel/slug/proxy camp at five gens, this is the only strategy I know!" nonsense but most matches have felt fun. Even though I'm dying a lot more than I'm escaping lol, the majority of my trials are at least exciting and I've fortunately had mostly good teammates who have been fun to work with. And it did take me an embarrassing amount of time to fully appreciate what the invitations can do and stop wasting a perk slot on Lucky Break lol. But I love the random Tryks effects, I love the invitation effects, I love the decor. It's just a fun way to mix it up.
Overall I've been having more fun as a killer and it's been easier for me to get points. Remote hooks and pallet breaks have been so awesome. I've been aiming to get everyone hooked at least once or twice before I sacrifice anyone so that we can all max out our points (so joke's on you, people who suicide on first hook lol). But tbf, I've only played my main (Spirit) so far so I'll see if I still feel the same about loving killer side when I try to mix up who I play as later and do some trials with killers I'm less confident with.
The most BP I've gotten in one match thus far has been 221,000. I'm hoping to get at least one of my survivor mains and at least one of my killer mains to level 100 this event and am about to have all all characters to at least level 3, which has been my grinding goal for like a year.

It’s never okay to harass another person. Especially over a video game. You’re clearly being a kind and considerate player. They are probably mad because it was them who were actually smurfing and your playstyle made them work harder for what they want.
I would try to forget about them. You’re bringing a fun mindset to the event, don’t let them take it from you.

how are you supposed to balance a game when you have two completely different games inside each other. No matter the bad the good will out weight it for future balance alone.
Not to mention they could just had a dodging limit of 3 per hour. Honestly that should be in game already as killers dodge Swf constantly which only extend que times and widen MMR searches which punish weaker killers by giving them a 4 man who are way above them in skill level

All good Perks which are totally fine on their own, but become too much when used with 3 or 4 of them. Add to this things like Mangled Add Ons and you have even more Slowdown.
And as long as BHVR cannot prevent Killers from stacking Slowdown, the only way to combat this is to nerf the Slowdown-Perks, which makes them less useful on their own, but also lowers their strength when stacked. But ideally there is a range of good Slowdown-Perks, which just cannot be stacked with each other.
Good points, but I don’t like the idea of only being able to use a certain number of perks.
I do however agree with the idea of nerfing them all instead of creating perk type slots.

Okay, I’m going to write this as best as I can without kicking the beehive (despite my playful addiction of riling up Survivor mains).
The best answer is to first find a play style that you enjoy. This includes Killer, perks, addons, and offerings. Find a set up that is really fun to use regardless of how Survivors play.
Then, let MMR take care of the rest. The first chunk of games you get will be lopsided against you, but if you stick with it the MMR will eventually start giving you opponents where your play style is valid.
You’ll still get a a well coordinated team from time to time but overall your unique fun perk experiments will eventually become valid to use.

I like this idea very much. However I do agree with the idea that it’s there because it is an important game event. I’m not sure I would want to change it without trying it out first.

Great write up! I have zero problems with SM. Love her as part of the greater Killer roster. Also, games against her (imo) actually feel “Most Dangerous ‘Gamey’”. Running from loop to loop against her feels thrilling and exciting. I personally cannot complain about her.
Especially when she locks the whole map down with drones, it feels like an infiltration horror movie.

For me it was playing as my favorite horror villains.For survivor it was the heart pumping feeling i use to get. The more hours u go the less fearful u become of the killer and the nostalgia of playing certain killers go away. Mind gaming and looping is what i find most enjoyable now. I know a very generic answer but no other game really fulfill that itch.
