Because when we do use Unbreakable the forums complain that Survivors only use the same 4 meta perks (and the only other viable one is honestly Plot Twist), and when we don't use the same 4 meta perks this happens with alarming consistency.

Any perk combination is fair game. I wouldn’t listen to the people who complain about your perks.

Oh wait, and knives in the back while bleeding out 😂

  • Yes actually. I love all things horror so they’re great signposts.

Btw, all this talk of Pinhead… please.. I don’t want him taking one of us to see “such sights”. Next thing I know one of you will be a Survivor in the game.

it’s really good! Graphics and also performance-wise it’s super smooth! Still need to get used to the (much bigger) size of the console but hopefully it won’t take too long by the time cross-progression comes around!

I hope there are no Tricksters who get in the way 😂 smh. Shaking their head actually! 😂

  • The Plague: One of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

    • Bloodhound
    • Corrupt Intervention
    • Infectious Fright
    • Dark Devotion

I like to use the perks that Plague comes with.

This setup is good for causing chaos and terror.

Corrupt helps in the early game to get in some infections which set the wheels of this nightmare into motion.

When I find my obsession I quickly infect them then damage them. The non-believer then runs off into the level while carrying the message of terror with them. During the panic I go undetectable to spread the real message of the end-times.

Infectious Fright is the cherry on top. The cries of the unfaithful really do make the heart leap. At this point I am in full demon mode filled with a bloodlust that only the blood of the unfaithful can satisfy.

Bloodhound ties it all together. A ferocious craze for blood so strong that it induces a single-minded murderous thrill.

There’s a cycle of never-ending sickness, the screams of the fearful, the whirling chaos of panic, trails and trails of blood everywhere… No Survivor escapes unscathed… Fear, panic, chaos, confusion, terror and fright…

    Yeahhhhh, no.

Those rules are not up to date. As we know, reporting for DC'ing isn't something you should be doing. If it isn't mentioning in the list literally on this website, it's not a bannable offense, no matter how much you want it to be.

So stop sending false reports lol

This is beyond Dc’ing which is handled automatically. It’s that people openly admit to breaking the Unsportsmanlike conduct rule, and since it “can’t” be enforced it creates a loophole to ruin other player’s games.

Pulsar, I like you. But you have a way with words in that it feels like you are trying to convince me that purposefully losing the game against SM is somehow not purposefully losing the game under the Unsportsmanlike rule.

Giving up against a Killer you don’t like is Unsportsmanlike conduct, full-stop. It may be protesting conduct but it’s still against the rules.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3748768#Comment_3748768

    It is not, actually.

Once again, here are the rules.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/139-game-rules

You can very clearly see that giving up on hook is not bannable.

Unless a Dev/CM has clarified and you have that source, stop spreading information that is false.

    IMG_7610.png

Giving up just because it’s SM is breaking the rules and players must be held accountable for that.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3748692#Comment_3748692

It is not against the rules, so do not report them. All you will be doing is further muddying the waters and creating more work for BHVR to do when it comes to tackling real reports.

This is no different than reporting for tunneling or camping or teabagging.

If you need a refresher on the DBD Game Rules they can be found here:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/139-game-rules

“Report this player for purposefully losing the game”

It’s a form of ragequitting which is indeed reportable.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3748596#Comment_3748596

Killing yourself on hook has never been bannable.

Things can change, of course. DC'ing wasn't bannable when I first played either.

Ultimately, there is no way to enforce this kind of thing. If you stop people from suiciding on hook, they'll stop playing optimally. You certainly can't ban people for being bad, or looking like they're bad.

Yeah it’s a huge problem that players can hide unsportsmanlike conduct behind being “bad” at the game.

At the end of the day we know that people are hook suiciding against SM. It’s unsportsmanlike and unfair for the Killer and Survivor players who want to play as and against her. Regardless of why they do it, it’s still wrong. They’re still ruining games for people who want to innocently enjoy the game on its own merits.

Every person who engages in any kind of sabotage when SM is in play should be reported.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3748508#Comment_3748508

Perhaps instead of blaming people from moving on from an unpleasant experience, we should instead attempt to discover why the experience is so unpleasant to so many people.

Well, here’s the thing… we do both; enforce the rules while gathering data.

Pulsar, I hope you aren’t suggesting that it’s okay to break the rules for things you personally dislike.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3748459#Comment_3748459

"Simply ban 90% of the playerbase for an issue with the Devs design."

I'm sure that will go well.

Until the devs “fix” SM then yes. I see that breaking the rules of the game and committing reportable offenses is a type of protest but it’s still against the rules and can be reported.

Until then the people who love to play SM and play against her are caught up in yet another Survivor-Bhvr child-parent fight. It’s old.

  • Just because some Survivors irrationally hate her doesn’t mean she should be ruined for the rest of us that love to play against her.

Every player who refuses to play against her should be reported so that their account can suffer a suspension and ultimately a ban if they want to keep ruining games for people.

We should not reward bad behavior.

  • Hate? A lot of that going around lately…

I love this event. In no way shape or form do I have any hate for it.

Which is a nonsense argument, because it is still easily possible, players keep their dailies done so they can get those points, they don't get the BP for tome quest to take them then... It prevents nothing, it just makes it more complicated and there is basically no good reason to keep such a cap... All it does is force players to use them on anything if they don't want points to go to waste…

I can see what you are saying yes. I’m not defending the current system by the way, just explaining how it works.

I am so sick of the slugging for the 4k strat, what is so hard for the devs to give the option to either unalive myself or give base kit unbreakable to the last 2 survivors. I literally throw myself at the killer so he can get me out of the game cuz 2v1 scenarios are unwinnable anyway and he still slugs me and I need to be stuck another 4 minutes in a lost game cuz a 3k win is never enough for some people. Just get rid of it for the love of God more the 50% of games have the following scenario: Killer tunnels first guy out then tunnels the second one and then slugs the third while the forth guy hides in a locker cuz he wants hatch and if your unlucky enough to be the third guy enjoy laying on the floor for 4 minutes until your timer runs out. Give me a break I've been playing this game for 4 years and it's the same thing over and over again. 3k is a win take and go next your mmr still goes up no matter what a win is still a win, at this point the killer wastes his own time cuz if the forth guy is elusive enough he can still escape after the bleed out. Stop wasting our time please.

    1000000%

When it’s last two the best thing to do is throw yourself at a window and get one last good chase that you will eventually lose.

  • @jamally093 said:

So why tunnel at the very start of a match like one gen is repaired and suddenly the killer just chooses to tunnel. If it's because the killer is not having a good time aka really bad matches there is something in the game to let all that anger out...custom games just make a custom lobby add some bots and boom let that rage out there since bots won't be toxic(I think) plus you choose their perks so most times just have them be perkless.

It could be for thematic reasons. The person playing Killer could be trying to make the Killer scary in a certain way so playing the “relentless stalker” and tunneling is how they do it.

interesting. Do you think they would start to balance things more so based off of comp mode though?

Honestly? Yes probably, which ultimately I do not want. But if Bhvr does decide to do a comp modifier this is how I would want it done.

  • @RedPoncho12 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/418477/comp-mode-ideas

yeah probably no perks, items, addons, and probably only specific killers could be used (not sure about that part but perhaps), and less RNG based map generation for tiles to level out the playing field to some degree. I’m not sure though

I’d actually want to throw all of it into a comp mode and see what rises to the top.

  • Here’s my take. Current 60/40 doesn’t feel like it is primarily because of stats and numbers behind perks and Killer powers. It feels like the 60/40 is being enforced by the mmr system.

I know that escapes and kills ultimately determine if your rating goes up or down. But I truly think it’s not the only number that determines who you get matched with. I think that chase time, gen time etc also factor in. It’s why I think each team is usually 1-2-1. 1 expert- 2 intermediates- 1 novice.

I bet Bhvr could make the KR 50/50 by adjusting the strength of Survivor teams to make it 3 intermediates and an expert.

This is what I would like to see in a comp mode, the true value of all the numbers played out by the best of the best that the mmr puts together. No more handicapped teams. No more experts playing with intermediates and novices but instead with other experts, full blown seal team 6 opponents.

It would take courage to see the mechanics and numbers displayed so nakedly but I think it’s something the community wants.

Wall hacks are very common and, above all, risk-free hacks that are used in Dead by daylight. They are very difficult to prove and as part of the community now knows, bans are only issued if it can be clearly proven through evidence (screens or videos), as there is no automatic cheat protection.

So why does the Distortion perk help here? Let me explain:

Without distortion: "OK, the killer found me straight away again. Maybe he had perk XYZ. Well, whatever, move on to the next one."

    With distortion:
"OK, the killer found me straight away again even though I have distortion and, like before, still had tokens left. That's strange, I'll wait in the lobby and check the killer's perks at the end of the match."

And now comes the discussion about game knowledge and game sense again. I've been playing the game since 2018 and have gained a lot of experience since then. What I can say is that there are players with very good game knowledge and who also track survivors well. But if there is no 50/50 loss and the players are constantly being found, then something is wrong.

The topic of cheating is avoided as much as possible, be it by the community or by the studio itself. The fact is that there is still no server validation and automatic cheat protection, which makes it very easy if you don't make it too obvious.

The current distortion is a useful tool to better identify suspicious behavior.

Back in 2018, when I started the game, cheating wasn't such a big problem and the cheaters we had made it very obvious. Today, however, you rarely find people who obviously cheat. However, subtle cheating is more common than most people think.

A sad fact but unfortunately most people don't care anyway.

Wow thanks for the education. I really love learning. I hear you about discussing cheating. I’ve tried mentioning cheating too and people usually are reluctant to believe anyone who thinks cheating is happening.

I was just curious if ppl's offerings might change how you play against them. Even if it's not necessarily farming points if they use event offerings but... do you find yourself going harder on someone if they use a map/hatch offering vs if they use a BP offering?

If I see anyone bringing an offering that applies to everyone then I'll usually play your typical 8 hook Killer.

On the other hand. You don't know your MMR and will never know it because it remains hidden. That's why there are external organizers and websites.

Maybe a comp mode could let you see your mmr. You can challenge someone and your mmr increases or decreases after the duel.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/418477/comp-mode-ideas

One comp mode would need to be 1v1 with limitations on killers perks and maps.

I guess a real 1v4 comp mode would need a bunch of perk, addon, map and item limitations. Also be dependant on the killer.

    I didn’t even think about 1v1. That’d be interesting.

Lately, its either survivors who loop on autopilot and fall for 90% of the mindgames, giving me an easy 4k or a 3k in which i leave the last one go (if they play music or drop the item).

Or master loopers than can run me for 3 gens and a half before i manage to land the first hit and they all leave with me getting only 1-3 hooks.

There seems to be no in-between. Its a bit weird. It didnt happened before the masquerade, and i had normal games the 2 games i played outside the event, but if i play the masquerade, its usually a stomp from either side.

Am i the only one? Why does this happens?

And to clarify, im not complaining, i easily win 5 games for every game i lose, its just that it baffles me that its hardly ever close, either i snowball very hard from the very beginning, or the survivors absolutely maul me.

And it feels odd. Like something is wrong or amiss.

There could be many reasons. It could just be the nature of the game, it could be weird MMR stuff, it could even be bots. I have seen unmarked bots in the trials that have perfect looping skills. I don’t think they belong to Bhvr but you never know.

They didn't flame me in endgame chat we were all on console so they invited me to a party and yelled at me in that, I won't be joining random parties anymore.

My point still stands. They were out of line completely due to their entitlement that you play to their advantage over your own objective. That’s how bad the gaslighting has gotten. They know and definitely don’t care.

  • @Nick said:

Why would you care about rules made up by your opponents anyways. If you give in to that it might come to a point where they make such ridiculous rules there's no way you can win without breaking one.

It’s already at that point. Killer players are apparantly the anti-christ reincaranated. Funny how everything is the Killer’s fault when Survivors make bad plays right in front of you.

So it’s the Killer’s fault a Survivor played bad… but also the Killer’s fault if the Killer played “bad”? And Killer players are the entitled ones? You win as Killer but still suck, lose and still suck. Survivors aren’t the bully/psycho role? Hm…

I know both roles complain about the other but from my experience Killer players are overwhelmingly more considerate to Survivors than the other way around.

  • @Brutha said:

So I was playing against a swf and right after I hooked someone I kicked a gen then heard someone run in for the unhook so I went back and hit them when they unhooked and chased them for awhile before leaving the chase and doing something else. After the match I was hit with "Baby killer camp fail using Op Freddy". For one "Op Freddy" like what- Second what they called "camping" was me being close enough to get the unhook hit, maybe it was a camp? I really don't know if I was actually considered camping or not.

Play however you want. Camping isn’t against the rules and sometimes the only information you have left is the hook.
You’ll never appease your opponents so don’t even try bending backward for them.

I mean look at you. They have you coming over to the forums all nice and polite hoping for validation that you were being considerate of them. And without hesitation or thought they flame you in game chat. That’s an abusive relationship.

I guarantee you, Survivors generally lose no sleep over Killer fun the way some Killers lose sleep over Survivor fun.

Problem with soloQ is selfish teammates and hiders. I use kindred, aftercare, we'll make it and windows in soloQ to help out teammates, but it also shows me the ugly side quite often. Teammates that hide and won't do gens.

Many times i die to save my teammates but quite often im left to my first hook to die or people won't even bother trying in end game.

Matchmaking seems little broken too im not gonna lie. I have 3700 hours in this game but im matched with survivors less than 400 hours. Killer on the other hand is someone with 9000 hours and those 400 hour survivors wont last more than 20 seconds. This should not happen.

I have 3700 hours in this game but im matched with survivors less than 400 hours. Killer on the other hand is someone with 9000 hours and those 400 hour survivors wont last more than 20 seconds. This should not happen.

There is a chance that the matchmaker does this to keep things balanced. For every team that has Survivors who can barely last 10-20 sec in chase, the team probably has one really good looper who can run the Killer for multiple minutes. So in the matchmakers eyes the skills offset each other thus making the game “equal”.

I’m not saying you should feel good about this or accept it or anything like that. Just that I think it is an intended feature of the mmr to keep good Survivors separated from each other. If the matchmaker created teams of players of equal skill level the KR would probably plummet since it’s no longer people forming their own 4 man swf but now the matchmaker forming as many powerful teams as possible.

It would be an interesting experiment to see the matchmaker for a modifier pit the best of the best against each other and with each other.

  • I see everyone is stuck on this idea that matchmaking is “broken” because experienced Survivors are partnered with inexperienced Survivors.

What if it’s not broken but working as intended? The better you get at Survivor the harder your games get, including weights on your own team that you have to carry. Adding inexperienced players to a match with an experienced player is a good way of keeping a 40% escape rate.

The escape rate would be much higher if all Survivors were the same skill level. If each Survivor can run the Killer around a minute with each hook state then the Killer has no chance. So to keep things fair experienced players are handicapped and inexperienced players receive a small boost.

Now I understand that this is exactly the frustration in solo que but again, I wouldn’t say mmr is broken. I just think that it is accomplishing its goal in ways that people don’t like, but not that it is broken.

You get teammates that aren’t as good as you.. You get a Killer who you believe is less skilled than you.. And despite believing that you are the best player on the server you are the one who always loses while everyone else benefits from the situation in some way. I understand the frustration. Games are very difficult for people who are good, just not difficult in a way that they believe is fair.

That's fair. I was testing with vecnas perk so I was afraid of a stun and I wanted a lopro hit lol.

Edit:and I kinda am a chainsaw only billy at heart unless I have to hammer.

That hook hit at 4:49 was sick

  • I’m barely at the 1:40 mark but already just force the pallet drop. Don’t give up so much time trying to avoid it. It does break up the match flow but just try to learn to take it. If it’s too distracting/flow-breaking then try conditioning yourself by getting hit with pallets using Enduring.

Edit: I also like to get almost point-blank close to the Survivor before starting the chainsaw.

With the Nea, she was already injured so unless you are intentionally practicing the chainsaw I would just use the hammer instead.

    I only use the chainsaw:

    • On healthy Survivors
    • If I am trying to scare them into going a different way
    • Movement

Edit 2: Okay, I finished the video. You did very well. I can tell that you started adapting to the way they were playing and once you warmed up it ended up being non stop pressure on the Survivor team.

My main recommendation is to just eat the pallets. There’s no getting around it sometimes with good Survivors. It’s best not to give up any free time. Even if greeding on thrown pallets is addicting sometimes.
