So three times today survivors have disconnected before the match has even loaded because I brought a mori that they see is secret before the game starts and I de-pip because of it. Is this a bug or is it another one up survivors have on killers?

I think it's stupid. It's not guaranteed to be a mori- unless it's a shroud you've brought it's hidden from you, too. I'm general, I think the depip for a pregame DC is ludicrous. Why are we (those who did not DC) being punished for a choice someone else made? In game we get at least 600 pts.. and it's not a guarantee depip if you play it right.

I feel for you, it's happened to me several times, too. Survivor, Killer, it doesn't matter what you main it's a dumb choice lol

Not that i care that much but i used to get a safety pip when i got Brutal as killer and now i've got 2 -1. Is it a bug or did it change somewere in the patchnotes?

As a surviver it's been nearly impossible. I just came out of a 4 silver run with a depip... *SMH*

Same here man, it always happens. I play on the PS5 and the PS5 version. Everything’s great and I have absolutely no complaints other than what you and I have stated.

It always seems to do me one over tbh. I think I'm clear but then get hooked for something that shouldn't have happened lol if I'm around a corner then I'm afraid your hatchet should hit a wall... This isn't Mario Kart with MK physics 😂

Oh well, latency is be what it is, I guess syncing platforms won't ever be as fine as these slick new graphics.

I feel for you; I really do! I remember my days in the Ranks where Survivors don't really know what they are doing. They hide in corners, squat around the entire map, dig in chests, stop to heal every time they are injured rather than work hurt when that Generator only needs six seconds of love, and so on. All I can do is say, "this shall pass." They will get better, and you won't carry the full load forever. You will advance via emblems and eventually graduate to groups that do at least realize that nobody gets out if the Generators don't get done. This is a blanket statement, of course, and there are idiots at every Rank, but overall things do get better. Just hang in there!

Green/Purple isn't as a whole terrible, but I'm still getting games where there's only two us working against the killer with locker surfers or corner campers.*shrug* Or you get the one that being you the killer. A lot. If you know the maps and are a decent looper you can distract enough for at least a gen or so..

  • I heard locker surfing was the new cool lol

I've noticed this in solo que, too, and in almost every game we're all out by g3. Someone will hide in a locker all game, someone in a corner and the only other player bothering to do gens will run after the first hot to hide and self care. OR someone will start running about for the hatch at while the 3ed suv is on the hook. *SMH* A united survivor front will always survive better- while fixing, unhooking and escaping.

Have you ever got into a game and see this survivor that constantly has that 100-120+ ping? Yea hi that’s me, or to be clear I’m one of these minorities. I’ll try to make it short.. I LOVE this game as well as everyone I know that’ve tried it. The problem is that this ping thing is frustrating , imagine vaulting with the killer AT LEAST 3-5 meters behind you and still get hit or downed? And that’s constant not just a few times. The cause of this is servers for us that play in the Middle East and I guess that part of the world in general are non existent and I understand that since there are more important things at hand .. or it’s hard to do, but can my community at least get a solution to be able to enjoy the game to its full? I’ve never looped a killer like everyone does because I simply couldn’t, each and every time I vault that’s when I’m downed and BTW my internet test gives me 300 m download with 2-5 ping so it’s pretty good I guess. Sorry for all the blabbering I’m frustrated, lemme know what you think. Thanks.

I've noticed the latency is allowing the most bizarre hits as of late... I get hit around corners by hatchets and 4 paces out windows ... Or by lunges that are impossibly long.

I think they focus too much on PC and forget that this game has other platforms to play on, too (hello form a Switch player✌🏻) idk what you're playing on, but *smh* I'm frustrated by it.

I think people like killing Ash because he's rare to see in the game now. Because everyone wants to kill an icon like Ash, so now i think people are avoiding Ash so they don't get attention.

Also, i play as killer on console and its the Survivors who are being A-holes, i'm just trying to enjoy the game.

Speaking of Toxicity, lets look how the Survivors abuse it. I used to play fair to the Survivors until they decided to not do the same. Body blocks, looping, and they taunt me for it...as if they never had bad runs as killer before. They get so full of themselves and think they're un-killable, it's literally the worst thing when playing as Killer. And its not just to Killers they act like that, i can't tell you how many times i've been left for dead or sold out to the killer over nothing, even if i do everything i can to help them. I don't know if its because i play Claudette and everyone is racist or what, but its unfair. Survivors should take victory with dignity and have more respect for the killer players.

If they were tunneling and camping early in the match, then i get it, but i don't do that, so why do players like me get so much hate?

Doing gens and looping is all we can do, besides die...

I get that there are some damn strong loops, but, chances are if you can't can't a survivor, you can catch the next one at the gen next to them. If the case is going in too long it the loop to strong cut them on, out think them or go to someone else. Looping isn't toxic (unless you throw pallets and tbag, then that is fair game have at it). In a few of the low rank games I've face recently I've had 3/4 gens be done in a single chase because then killer caught me in a strong loop and doesn't break the chase- and that's with no pallets being thrown! You're better off finding someone who's in a more compromised position.

If you have difficulty hearing the game, check the sound settings on your computer. sometimes the game volume is changed to low.

Also, if you don't use earphones, it is highly recommended to use them for better sound.

If you are using earphones, check them with other games or videos.

Happened to me many times that my earphones sound was very low until they no longer worked. I hope this is not the problem you have.

    -

    About perks,

Depends on your play style and how you like to play in general.

Personally I like to arrange my perks especially for late game.

    The perks can be:

Adrenaline, Soul Guard, Spine chill, Left Behind.

    For team focus:

Diversion, Empathy, Borrowed Time, Bond. (You can change one or two perks for speed healing team etc)

To be careful from the killer:

Alert, Spine chill, Premonition, Lucky Break.

To be a little speedy and sneaky:

Dance With Me, Quick & Quiet, Lithe, Sprint Burst.

    -

You can play with perks and eventually you will learn to dodge the killers who make it difficult for you.

The more you play with a particular killer, the more you learn to play against him over time.

Along with that, watch videos or streams of good Dead by daylight players. you will see tricks that you may have missed before.

    -

I hope it helps ^^ have fun playing.

Headphones DO help, but even then I just hear the terror radius. If you match with me and I blow gens- I'm not incapable lol I just missed the sound que.

I sometimes run spine chill, but find it doesn't really help me much- its easier for me to pan camera and watch for movement.

I will fiddle more with my sound, but I don't think counsel is as complex when it comes to adjustments ad PC.

Thanks for the input! I will try some of your builds :)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/159288/survivors-punished-for-bad-killers

but that's how this game pipping is, killer being bad (never hook or just chase 1 survivor until the game done) survivor depip

killer facecamp and the other ignore you all survivor depip

the killer too go(o)d all of you dead with 0-3 gen survivor depip

so lets just say earning pip is not only about how good you're but how good killer and you're is

and i can say tunneling is not unfair its just efficient way to kill survivor faster and make gen progress slower after 1 die

Even in games when I get decent runs as a survivor, it doesn't guarantee a pip. In face, I've have games where I get bronze/ silver and get depiped because someone was tunneled or camped and there was no oppertunity for altruism. Everything has its place but 24/7 gets tiring ...

Still never have been toxic messaged after a game by a killer. I could imagine if you tbag or do other behavior during a game.

Killer can't be toxic. And no, Face camping or tunneling is not toxic.

It can be. Especially when you, the killer, hit me under the hook. It sit in my face. Especially if I didn't flashlight spam you or t-bag you.

Every situation is different. If you don't think it's a pattern and a problem I'd suggest play survivor for a while and see from our perspective what it is we're REALLY fighting against.

Personally, I don't mind one or two. But every other match? Especially if I get hooked 30 seconds in and camped through all phases? Deranked, depiped and make NO points? It's not about getting good. There's nothing you can do if you a) can't jump hook because you have a 4% base chance b) don't have access to antitunnel perks and c) it's a point block. You aren't getting points, I'm not getting points, #########, unless I'm playing like a dick, is the point?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/221372/psa-for-unhooking

The only time it is even slightly acceptable to do this is if the survivor is about to die and you have bt unless it's a bubba

There's always a time and place. If you see a camper, take 2. If you know you're being chased, wait. Chances are someone is coming. Unless death is upon us try not to unhook in a chase.

When in doubt, team it up. Also, WE SNEAKING. Sneaky survivors are good survivors-they work for more than the hag. PH is also combatted, too. Torment placed around the hook can't snag you if you sneak. This also will let you find traps in tall grass. Sprinting has a time and every situation is different, but these things are hard learned and I think worth passing of. I hope it helps anyone who needs the extra hand :)

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

I had a Feng yesterday who was running around my hook, got exposed by a Michael, and immediately unhooked me without BT before going down by my hook.

I could not understand for the life of me why she did that. It was like she the expose sound was her queue to unhook?

    🤦🏽

I've seen a lot of streamers doing this. Irritating, and yet the hooked survivor get the pen... And the depip/ rank I'm sure huh?

  • I didn't play killer, but I can relate. I've had nothing but silver/ bronze or silver/ gold runs and I can't seem to pip up! You pretty much have to have a killer willing to max you out, get an under skilled match and outthink/ loop or farm to rank up. If you get match at your actual skill set you're getting depiped or deranked.. I've only got 3 pips and 1 rank since the reset and it's not for lack of trying. *Smh* whatever they did when they released the last patch, they messed with something that was not perfect, but way better than this. You have to get iridescent and gold to get up. If not say goodbye to your hard work.

There's no more "get good" bs in it either. You can have a great run and pop 5 gens before the killer does any work but nada because you didn't get points. They reworked something that was actually decent for us. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Good job, Devs. You've seen the chaos will you change it back now?

  • @smileybones said:

If you get unhooked in front of me, I'm going to yell out "BT CHECK!" and hit you. That's assuming I can't get the trade and don't already know whether or not they have BT.

The problem with but is that you need to play Bill to 35/40 or have it from the shrine. It's not that accessable- and IF you do have it it doesn't guarantee it's coming up in the web

That's not to say that fair hits don't happen. Like, say, healing under the hook or trying to sabo it. Sometimes is fun to see how fast these things can go before you get us

You do you, it not like there isn't gonna be another match right after if I go out lol sometimes a change of pace isn't terrible

you have no proof they were working together and that is NOT proof "THE SURVIVOR AND KILLER WATCHED THE HOOK TOGETHER" there are a great many times things go wrong.. if you think you have a case take it to the devs with your proof, they will make the decision. you're preaching to the choir here. But my comments stand and are valid no matter what you say, why? because you still know not what is going on. I bet you didn't report it, I'd bet you didn't create a ticket with evidence to back your claim up. and the only one that can get in trouble for it is the survivor, not the killer.

Calm down. This wasn't to grind in anyone. This was a half joking post. Wasn't that serious. Was I upset that the player unhooked in that manner?. Did I think they could have been working together ? Sure. It looked and felt like it when it was happening to me. Would you have felt the same if it happened to you?

Devs need videos and I play for fun. I'm not going to whip out recording bs every time a game grinds my gears. It's not worth and I don't have the patience nor the equipment. If you don't have video you don't have a case. And let's be real, who on anything but pc will record something?

*Shrug* I'm not bothered by it. I was simply thinking. As I said, this post was more of a "ha ha teach survivors" post that we sometimes see- an etiquette post so to speak.

    Have a good day!

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

I think most survivors will try to unhook safely. But if a hooked survivor is approaching the struggle phase, sometimes you just have to rush the hook. That's why borrowed time is a good perk for solo survivors.

Whole heatedly agreed. Its an amazing perk to run.

  • @TicTac said:

You are full health and you know the killer has no noed. You know he needs to hit you twice. There is no risk involved for you. Maybe the killer doesnt let you unhook, thats ok. But i doesnt hurt to look for an oppurtunity.

Whats the reason that this people leave immediately?

Sometimes, strategically, it's better to have two for a save. One to distract and one to unhook. Personally, I try if I'm at full health and only leave if I have to. I will attempt the save even if it means I might not make it back.

  • @darktrix said:

    1) I'd rather be unhooked in the killer's face than left to go to struggle phase on my first hook.

    2) I'd be happy if people didn't lead chases toward the hook...lead them away.

    3) If I do go to struggle phase cause you took your sweet time UE'ing around me, don't all of a sudden feel like there's an emergency and unhook me in the killer's face.

Pretty good standards.. I like these lol 👍🏻

  • @Freki said:

Save and get yelled at.... don't save and get yelled at.... can't not be yelled at... "why didn't you unhook me????!!!!" "he was camping you!" "still should have pulled me!" "Why did you unhook me?" "I didn't see him right there" "You still unhooked me unsafely!"

get it from both sides TYVM! I will do what I think is best, but this is not working with the killer if they "FARM" you, and unless you have more evidence than just an unsafe unhook nothing will happen with a report.... working with the killer is generally leading the killer to other survivors, repeatedly opening a locker with a survivor in it etc... just an unsafe unhook is not working with the killer

Did you not read what I said? The survivor and killer watched the hook together? Survivor pulled me, killer hooked me through all phases.

You do you. I'm just saying, if you KNOW it's a bad idea and either you or I will be downed right after, don't do it. My opinion, you're free to yours.

I do agree that unhooking in front of the killer is a stupid move, unless they have zero choice in the matter, eg: They're about to hit 2nd stage/die. But you can't class a survivor unhooking then being redowned as working with the killer. And of course a killer is going to just rehook the person they redowned. Why wouldn't they? A survivor just unhooked in their face, and without BT they just pretty much handed over free pressure to the killer.

In this particular case it was pretty clear. They would take turns watching me. I do agree, take what you can get. But each case is different.

  • @Farya said:

Well, I am like a Newbie to this game. Played it for a few days in 2018 and now playing it again for six weeks. But still bad at loops and chasing and so on.. but that's not the point.

Just an explain for why I don't know the answer yet to a simple question - is it allowed to "farm" bp as a whole group?

By that I mean: not playing seriously but just hit the Survivors, they heal, a little chase, some pallet stuns. Killer does no harm and so on. You know what I mean, I guess.

If all players are random or the Killer faces a group of friends and they would somehow tell each other ingame (by hitting objects and stuff) that they just want to farm or do challenges - is that banable?

As far as I know, if you spin and the other player reponds in kind or you make it VERY OBVIOUS that's what you're up to I personally don't see an issue with it. In fact, after the tunneling and camping I find it refreshing.

What I usually see it true gameplay for two sacrificed survivors and then if the remaining two "earned" it through hard work- good team skills, loops, ect. (Each killer has different standards) then they let them finish gens with pressuring them off and small chases, then major farming at EGC.

  • @Liqhtninq said:

I like having a reason to jump on other killers and survivors other than my main ones and just the 1 daily isn't enough in my opinion. Something like 5 per day would be better or even just a constant flow. I can't really see any downsides to this as it rewards people to keep playing, switch stuff up and reduces the grind I've seen mentioned a lot.

Anyone else want this or have any other ideas?

Maybe tailor it to your personal game style: if you play killer main give killer daily and survivor for survivor? I'm sick of having to pass days worth of challenges because I don't main killer...

Welcome to one of the problems with DbD's design.

Slugging is one of the core mechanics for killers. It's not something only some killers are capable, it's something all killers are capable of, which means the game is balanced around killers being able to utilize this mechanic. Survivors being able to pick themselves up off the ground is such a strong mechanic that they either have to use up a perk slot just to do it once, or they have to be in the broken state all game to do it multiple times (not to mention Soul Guard which is dependent on the killer running a hex).

Doing anything to change slugging would require changing a larger part of the game to balance it out.

If you're wondering why I said this is a problem with DbD's design, here it is: a killer winning the match isn't fun for survivors. A killer can slug, which leaves survivors on the ground unable to participate in the match. A killer can hook, which again has the survivor unable to participate in a match (and spamming a button in second state is just absolutely suck). And a killer can kill, which removes the survivor from participating in the match and throws them back into the queue, which for many people is a 10-30 minute wait.

Yeah, being slugged sucks, but it's an important tool for killers to create pressure when gens are popping.

I don't think slugging at 1 or 2 gens are necessarily a bad thing lol. This DOES create the pressure needed, LOL hell I'd even go as far as to say it gives you the adrenaline rush that I'm so fond of with this game... But when the killer stars this at, say, 4 or 5 gens and they get you back to back, then you're sorta SOL. Though, I must admit most of the 4 survivors slugging I see happens at the lower ranks or right before the resets.

    Edit: spell check

I hate to break it you megamind but no, T bagging is not mind gaming. Is that really the logic of toxic players? Is that the purpose of screaming the N word into the mic in every FPS? To throw people off their game 😂

I always thought it was to mask insecurities in the real world by being an ######### in a world you can control.

I thought is was I diversion lol a bit of "look at me" haha

I mean they very clearly flat out don't care about the cess pool the community has become so why not enable them to at least have taunts that aren't so immersion breaking? The fluid animation has now made t bagging look worse because what the ######### are actually doing, its so stupid! Now that they're actively supporting toxicity just let survivors give the finger

Omg if you could give the finger to a camper while on the hook that would be epic lol

  • Personally, I will bounce for other players to say thank you for a heal or say hello when I first start a match. I'm not inherently being rude- I'm mearly utilizing the tools given to me to talk and stop if they don't return the gesture. *Shrug* not everyone here is out to be a jerk and I don't set out to be one myself. I will even prefer the hook to these matches vs escape, especially of the killer made honest attempts.

  • On Switch the maps are super dark (especially Gideon's and Red Forest) this results in some... Unsavory endings.

I do notice hang ups in Cold Wind. I was unhooked the other night and I couldn't move, almost as if I was body blocked. I had to change direction and go another way. I didn't give it much thought at the time but now I'm not so sure...

Also, killers have been glitching though pallet drops. I've had that happen to me several times today. Anyone else for this one?

  • @Stealth said:

Each killer has their own set of perks/add-ons but survivors just need to invest into their main since they are basically skins. Once you Ha e the teachable you want, no need to change survivors anymore. Plus it's a 4v1

4v1 is fine, but when's the last survivor game you've played? Have you actually gone up against some of the tactics that the lower ranks use? Perks or no, it sucks to work hard for so little pay off (especially vs a locker surfer who only hid and got boosted by finding the hatch), not to mention the "good survivor perks" aren't necessarily always accessible to everyone.

I can't tell to how many times the killer will camp in your face and then patrol once you're in second stage, only to instantly rebook you once you get off. If you've have the unfortunate luck to get caught early you're lucky to walk way with 4000 pts. Personality my lowest ever was against a a killer who did this not 45 seconds into a game. I walked out with just over 3000 pts. I never had a chance to do anything at all. Good player or no it happens and things like this are rough lol

It is what it. Killer is more expensive, which sucks btw, I don't disagree. I think there's just more in it that that.

  • We need a bigger buffer for camping and direct tunneling off hooks. Yes, I admit that sometimes, occasionally, there is a necessity of that there is no other way around it BUT when you play 15 games and 9 of those games are tunneled off hook directly or camping until second phase then insta-rehook happens it gets to be too much. The simple "they don't get as many points" doesn't cut it! There needs to be like, a three second hit buff or something because it's honestly one of the biggest turnoffs of the game.

That, and other survivors using you as bait. Very unsavory. If you can't out run I will unhook, we survive better as a team (duh). There's no need to body block me against the killer, drop a pallet on me (a nother survivor!) Or pin me up somewhere where I CLEARLY can't get out of when the killer is coming out way. That can't be address necessarily but it should be noted that it's a jerk move lol

  • @trick said:

not unbalanced at all. Killers bloodweb requires more spending , and more expensive specific add ons in some cases. u dont even need perks to win a survivor match as already pointed out so why u need 100k bp every match for pressing m1? xD if u play an all rounded game and win u get like 20-30k. AND once AGAIN another reason why selfcare is a good perk for survival points , in most of my matchs even if i die i have rank up and half of that catergory

You must be playing a different game, then. I can get good chases and work my ass off but still get depiped *rolls eyes* some things in this game are just broken lol. Killer is more expensive, yes. But it's more pointed to the fact that I'm killed because of hook camping or survivor tunneling and I get less than 6,000 pts a match. THAT'S where the frustration comes from.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Blame the emblem system that lets survivors pip doing almost nothing. In fact, survivors get rewarded for making bad plays in the emblem system.

Automatically farmed your teammate off the hook just because you have BT? That's a pip for you!

Led the killer to your teammates doing gens on purpose just to not be chased anymore? That's a pip for you!

Spent the entire match urban evading, never taking agro and escaped through the hatch at 5 gens? That's a pip for you!

I get depiped WAY more than piped- it's a constant fight to stay. If I get tunneled and out with only touching one gen I better kiss a pip good-bye. It has nothing to do with being a good player player don't come after me my loops are just fine thanks. The whole system is broken. I can fight tooth an claw but one fist hook that's camped or tunneled straight off it and rehooked not 10 seconds later? Nah, nah nah nah nah. All for nothing kiss that s*** good-bye ✌🏻

It has nothing to do with "incentives" to play killer or the fact that there's more survivor players. People saying that here haven't got a clue, to be honest. It's balanced because of the job killer requires vs survivors.

Killers get significantly more because their job requires them to do significantly more. Killers are a team of one that have to worry about 4 separate survivors. Survivors are a team of 4 that each do only a PORTION of their objective. You all share the bloodpoint pool as survivors. Killer gets their whole pool of bloodpoints to themselves. Don't believe me? Find a way to do all the gens solo, destroy all the totems, max out your altruism, and max out your bold, as well as escape in a match. You'll get about the same as a killer who 4k's with 12 hooks.

TL;DR - Play killer if you want more bloodpoints.

Under zero circumstances is there any "imbalance".

I was just asking out of genuine curiosity. When a camping killer gets almost twice the points I do then I think that it's truly a wonder.

If they actually worked and did what they're role in the game is then it'd totally legit and I respect it.

I really wish we could be shown when we're given props, especially since there's no cross console chat or even a general "good game" button to send. I props teammates and my killers loans but they never see it

I would agree, but attempts to punish those strats have proven to be futile.

It's etl just sad, this used to be a favorite, now I'm met with nothing but frustration. Play as you see fit and all but my word why bother getting me out in 45 seconds! I deserve some points too. I've worked hard to stand where I am lol

    @HeckaYeah

What I am saying is that the game doesn't know what "CAMPING" means, in order to implement downsides.

I'll give you an easier example. Imagine you hook the one person and the other 3 survivors come flocking at the hook... all while the killer just standing at hook. How are you suppose to implement a debuff to that killer who is simply there because he was forced there? It doesn't make any sense.

On the same page though, I do agree that flat out (intentional) camping should be at least looked at and give survivors MORE options aside from being forced to bring perks. Because then it isn't like a straight up punishment but it will also discourage it since now the killer would have to deal with another survivor built-in buff.

Just to be clear, I am actually in agreement on the fact that many killers feel like they wanna camp, simply because they can. The rest of the team being able to pop 2-3 gens in the amount of time it takes to die through a hook stage is NOT playing the game, and most certainly isn't fun for the person being a victim of this boring mechanic.

I don't think I have ever in the almost 5k hours I have in this game ever met a person that was like "Yeah I had an extremely amazing experience playing this game. My team got out while I just chilled there on the hook".

If they're camping that hard then it will take more than one survivor for a rescure- one to distract and one to unhook. Three are in danger but sometimes it's the only option. I never said it was a good one lol

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

Because in the right circumstances they can become essential strategies. I say this as someone who despises Slugging because it ican become borderline abusive.

I'll give you an example: Say you hook a survivor, leave hook and start chasing another survivor. The survivor being chased decides they want to go in the direction of the hook and go down suspiciously close to hook... meanwhile another survivor rushes to save (to prevent a 2nd stage). At this point the killer can use their recklessness against them and leave someone on the ground, meanwhile they never meant to "camp".

The problem is that there are WAY too many scenarios and outcomes to what accounts as "camping". Like, a killer could simply camp if they want to OR the situation presented itself where camping was "warranted".

I do agree that survivors should have more options outside of Perks in order to counter what is already considered a built-in action/mechanic. Because it isn't ok to me when a killer excessively uses these actions without ANY downside from the game itself. Like, slugging for example... if the killer has slugged for a tremendous amount of time, survivors should get a small buff on their recovery rate... etc. It doesn't even have to be anything huge, but at least it sort of feels more balanced in those situations.

Your example, to me at least, wouldn't necessarily be camping, but instead a form of patrolling. Personally, camping is sitting to prevent unhooking and/ or to witness the sacrifice stage and may or may not include hitting. The first time prevents screams and I actually appreciate when the killer does it, but after that it becomes obnoxious.

I do agree, however, that sometimes slugging may be necessary, like when gens are being completed too fast- this creates pressure. What I don't agree with is some of the BS that comes with it- slugging 4 at once and leaving them, slugging Survivor Number 2 and dropping them under the hook of Survivor Number 1 and guarding them both...

Yes a lot of players will crawl to a no hook zone if all 4 are slugged, but at that point do you really blame them, especially when there hasn't been a single gen done? Or even just one? And not a survivor amongst them had a perk to allow a dying state rescue at that. The way I see it, it may be a tad butt sore on both sides...

  • @Pulsar said:

Facecamping almost guarantees a Survivor win.

Slugging everyone guarantees a Killer de-pip.

You could bring Unbreakable, which let's you get up off the ground.

You do realize that not everyone has access to this perk, right? While a very solid solution and an AMAZING perk to run, it is not necessarily the answer. Not every survivor had the ability to obtain it and even if they do that is no guarantee that it will come about in the blood web.

I agree, you make very real and valid points- these strategies ARE penalized, but multiple, back to back games of "hit me while I'm hooked" or "leave me and do gens" is completely obnoxious, depips the survivor (personal experience) leave the very real taste of "the people in this game suck" in the mouth. I don't think that they're penalized hard enough for the poor play. Then when the erroneously climb to high ranks they cannot fathom why they are being handed their loss on a silver platter when they play against the SWF groups who literally eat these killers for an appetizer.

Personally (it's my opinion, take it for what it's worth) I think it's a weak way to play and they do it for the ease of blood pointage. The other end of the key board? Who cares, I got my points so what if they depiped and actually obtained their rank through hard work and decent gameplay? Sadly, though, there is no true way to track what is going on so unfortunately untill survivors can climb out of the 20-10 range you'll be faced with these almost constantly. After that it seems to *sort of* improve.

It's my.own experience, just as valid as anyone elses and not intended to make anyone feel down or out of sorts. Hope this helps :)

  • People will always have something negative to say- the community is full or people whose secondary pleasure (either they will beat you down in game or after, take your pick) is to be nasty in chat. Pay the no mind- they like to forget that it's a game and games are ment to be "fun" lol

If it helps, I usually run Urban in ALL of my builds (if I can). I enjoy being able to sneak past crows, move quickly without running and not feeling like I'm a turtle when it comes to moving about the map.

Not everyone is awful, don't let a few take the enjoyment out of things.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Well that's exactly how I have fun as survivor. I just talk with friends while we all play and chill. If it's a Deathslinger or Pyramid Head or something we don't really care anymore because we're talking about other stuff while we play. There's 0 point concentrating on a chase against these killers because they either don't give a ######### about what you do in the first place (Deathslinger, pyramid Head, Spirit, Nurse), or you're just running them normally but pre-dropping pallets and getting hit from 100 miles away anyway (Freddy. Seriously they need to do something about his awful hitboxes in relation to his actual model. It's the one thing I really hate about him, the rest I don't mind all that much)

I feel the same way, when I play with friends (unless we're being baited/ slugged/ tunneled) we usually bs about our week, talk about what's going on in our worlds and will sometimes even act as sports announcers for the game ( this adds a lever of humor- we quite often hear "There goes 'Stache Dwight!" "I found Claudette! How did she manage to get to [a strange location not normally accessable ]?") We mostly just take it easy, even if we don't survive the point is were spending time together. The only killer that really stressed us out are Charlotte and Victor or Freddy (but only because we've faced a few back to back who've played a tad dirty).

I play solo survivor and have fun. It’s the only way I play survivor. I’ve never played SWF. I play all my online games solo. GTA, red dead, ESO etc. I feel more of a sense of achievement knowing I’m doing it on my own. Even though solo survivor is team based also. If I get matched up with survivors who aren’t doing well... I just try my best and then move on.

I’m a killer main, devotion 6 and play red rank both sides. I used to only play killer but the last few months my roll has been survivor. Having great fun with it.

I don’t understand how people think it’s unfun unless they are just use to steam rolling killers with the balanced SWF.

Even with a SWF group, it a) doesn't mean we're tryhard and b) will survive more

Lol in game that I play with buddies I died just as often. We focus on enjoying the game more that making others miserable. Also, I've had plenty of games where the killer has used tactics suck as baiting and slugging to advantage to quickly end a game. If I'm playing with friends were playing for the company, not to terrorize the community. Usually we go out of the way to unhook, distract and heal.

  • @Zaytex said:

I don't understand how you have fun in this role, with exception to SWF, when red ranks consist of the same four to five killers (Spirit, Freddy, Nurse, Deathslinger, PH) which promote a unfair game play with little to no counter for the survivors, whilst your teammates are borderline useless and offer no altruism for you whilst the killer tunnels, camps, slugs for the Gods and brings ruin/undying on top of it almost every game which becomes oppressive in solo queue.

How? I can't stomach this role outside of a 4-man SWF.

That's just it- you work your tail off only to end up sacrificed in the end. In a gaming period of 4 hours, I'm lucky to encounter a killer MAYBE 4 times who won't use slugging and baiting/ tunneling/ camping to quickly out survivors. Even worse, in a string of ill luck, if you have the misfortune to be tunneled and (I hope this doesn't happen to you) you're downed and hooked because of weak looping/ starting next to the killer and no one comes to get you/can get you then you get depiped. I'm those 4 hours (don't say anything, I'm a decent player when not tunneled and camped out of the game) I'm lucky to escape MAYBE a grand total of 5 or 6 games, and that's being pretty generous.

I just try to do what will give me points and what will progress the team's success rate-if I see camping I will cause a distraction for an unhook, if no one else is unhooking, I will stop my gen and unhook and heal. I will go for totems. If Survivor Number 2 is on hook 2, but I'm untouched, I will take a hit to let them escape whether I'm running a SWF game or a solo game. If I know we're gonna lose, then I'm going to try my best to get everyone else as much points/survive time as I can. Killers: my recommendation is to run some solid Survivor time. Wanna know why "survivors whine"? You'll find out soon enough.

Is it only me, or do you all find yourselves getting this map, along with Wreckershaven a stupid amount of times? No offerings for either one, just I have had my last 12 out of 15 matches be Coldwind farm. I can't remember the last time i was at the graveyard or even the hospital. Hell, I don't even see ormond that much, it's just constantly Cornfields or Car Junk

I also get Springwood a ton, in fact one night I played it pretty much 3/4 if the games I played. Now I know it super well... Good for me I guess lol

I do have these three makes the absolute most, and while it's nice to know where everything is, it's sorta ... Boring

Both sides are equality toxic. Just the other day I had a billy telling me to kill myself because I told him he was being an idiot for assuming we were in swf just because he lost. (we were not, all solo).

People tend to underestimate how well survivors can survive if they actually, you know, work together.

Besides, just assuming a well- oiled group is SWF is poor practice (in my opinion) because I've have plenty of games where we have chose to "sacrifice" someone on hook for the sake of the game and completing the last gen- especially if the killer is camping or tunneling hard.

Everyone knows that usually the ones that u expect this kind of harassment is from survivors, but today, for the first time, I saw a killer doing it.

The player was an huntress and after looping her for a far amount of time, all the remaining gens popped and I looped her until both gates were 99%, she brought me to the basement and camped me, which I find completely fair because it was in the endgame. Surprisingly, the 3 randoms I was playing with rushed in and saved me, we all escaped but one guy that got sacrificed in my place during the rescue.

I proceeded to thank the team in endgame chat and say ggs to everyone only to find out that they were console, and see the huntress wishing that we, and our families would all die from cancer and covid and that she would dance on our bodies. I told her that was a bannable offense (it is right?) but she just kept going.

I reported her in game for harassment and explained there what happened, do I need to report it anywhere else? Do I need to use the customer support somehow? Submit a ticket? This is my first time reporting someone and I want to do it correctly.

So, have u ever gotten any kind of death wishes/threats like this? If so, what have u done? How do u feel about it? I find it kinda rare the see so much toxicity in endgame chat, so this was actually surprising.

Try to keep your chin up, not everyone is a Major Jerkface. Many people on the game are toxic and DO tend to forget that the other end of the screen are real people (and many more don't care, sadly). You will also find that many go out then way to be kind and stick their necks out. Keep an eye, they're out there! Don't let one dull knife hack the rest :) is it a game after all, try to have some fun if you can. I hope this helps
