I have no problem with killers who tunnel toxic survivors. Nor do I have a problem if a killer resorts to tunneling, slugging or camping if they're at 2 gens or less. Game goes by way too fast for most killers to get 12 hooks. I only consider it toxic or sweaty when they do it from the start.
Thankfully, most killers are not like what the survivors on this forum like to portray them as. Yes, I have had my fair share of turds, but for the most part, most are playing for fun, or as someone else mentioned, just punishing bad plays.
I actually have more of an issue with sweaty survivors than I do killers. You know, the sexy shirtless David who is chasing the killer hoping to get a flashlight save when they could be on a gen. I also hate people who tunnel gens when their teammates are on hook and let them get to second stage. At that point, I just let the entity take me.
Thank you! Someone who see it as I do, or similar :)

Nah the bleed time is fine imo people just want to use it to be a dick and if you lower the time you leave less time to be saved which puts more pressure on your team
I'm mainly thinking about when you're the last one down here. I get it that it pressures the team but chances are, if you're slugged and they're not hooking you're bait lol

That's a valid frustration 😂 and I'll admit I've brought survivors to hatch then closed it in their face before I hooked them. The only reason I have for that is that the survivor tilted me a bit. Obviously I don't so that now it wastes so much time and there's honestly no point being tilted at this game anymore. Same with bleeding people out. I've been bled out countless times and I'm not even upset I died I just wanna queue again and they drag it out for over a minute. So I completely agree with you
I would be justified IF I t- bagged or was a jerk 😂 , but in my opinion this was a typical run with a well working team. Gens and unhooks with decent chases.
I think the 2 minutes bleed out time is sorts unnecessary. Maybe cut 10 seconds for every survivor that has passed the third sacrificing? You could pick yourself up if you have the perk and wouldn't have to wait for 2 minutes of not...
-
Most of the time (IDK about you) but I have a genuine hard time even locating the hatch. You never know what goes on on the other side of the screen. For me, personally, I'm Hard of Hearing so even though the hatch makes noises I legitimately can't hear them- I need to search visibly for them.
It's 100% fair of Killer finds it first. But please lol don't make me bleed out and then torment me

Tunneling hooks when you're a top tier killer that can zip around the map.
Tunneling hooks, proxy camping, and slugging at 5 gens.
Tunneling hooks, proxy camping, camping, slugging or even just plain old tunneling at 5 gens when someone dc's.
Slugging for the 4k to lure me out even though someone DC'd at the start of the match.
I'm glad someone said slugging at 5 gens or with a DC, or anything with a DC ( it will IMMEDIATELY place the team at a disadvantage)
Also, could I just add, if a survivor is OBVIOUSLY having a technical issue? (IDK about other platforms but on switch maps like Gideon's and Dead Dawn are EXTREMELY dark vs PC or PS- if I run into a wall I'm not braindead, I legitimately CANNOT see)
Although, that being said, if they purposely go out of their way to be big o'jerks (not doing gens and searching you out to tbag or such) then I, personally, don't think it applies.

This is good guidelines. It allows for full gameplay without "kneeling to the survivors" or being a total sweatlord.
I'll add, as a personal rule, if someone is clearly doing dumb unhooks to farm or sandbagging other players, and I come across them unhooking or doing literally anything with another survivor, I'll target them first. I've been the person "that surv" has used for whatever weird thing he's doing, and it ain't fun. I will ignore easier targets if I can punish someone for sabotaging teammates.
Personally, to other survivors, I will say hi , ask for heals, or say thank you by doing "ups and downs". To a killer this could look like "sandbagging" but we have limited interactions so it's the best we have. It's quite common and personally I don't fine it too disrespectful unless they don't return the gesture- then I stop and discontinue the behavior with that player.
Now, not to be confused with, say, t-baging behind the killer whilst you're on the hook, t-baging a survivor while they're on the hook or t-baging a slug or at the gate (you the the drift, add any other ill manners you'd like here).
There's are my thoughts and opinions, but I hope that it clarifies some of the thoughts behind the actions :)

I was playing survivor and this happened while I was playing as Elodie.
I didn't do anything to either killer. I dont teabag, or wait at exit gates. They caught me and just camped and attacked after not seeing me the whole game.
To make things worse, I'm running Kindred so my teammates see the killer camping and refuse to help. I had a match last night against a Freddy and I think I was matched with a SWF. Didnt see Freddy all match, got my first hook after 5th gen was done. Then I see the gates open and all 3 of my teammates are in the exit gate teabagging as my first hook becomes my death hook. It wasn't even a good Freddy (no dream snares set and I think he had 1 hit besides me the whole match). Freddy camped and attacked the whole time I was on hook while my teammates did nothing in the exit gates.
In SWF games we make it a big deal to purposely save, heal, and take hits for solo survivors. We all solo survive when we can't play together and know how terrible it is when you're left. Admittedly, sometimes it does backfire BUT more often than not it works in our favor- a healthy survivor is a strong survivor. If you save, I'll save and as cheesy as it sounds we'll survive better that way. We're not all self- preserving. Don't let the bad games get you down, yes there are loads but there are positive people out here, too :)

I recommend Spine Chill and Sprint Burst with the other two being at your discretion. Hope this helps!
-
If you don't like what you're reading there's plenty of other material on here.
Also, just speaking of the game, the last update did some crazy stuff. I know some maps are WAY darker on specific consoles vs others. I know specific killers need nerfed (and that's not necessarily a bad thing thing I know Clown is getting help and that's a good thing.)
I think that take way here was about the torment. Is that a new thing, or something that I've just not noticed before?

I play as Elodie so I can get the first attack. But I literally had Ghostface hitting me 5 times no reason as 2 gens popped. And then I played a huntress who just stared at me launching hatchet after hatchet. Like seriously I learned a lot from this experience
I don't understand it. If the player irritated you that bad then get them out of the game- they have a thing for that called hooks. There is literally no reason to repeatedly hit them, unless they are t-baging for no reason, they hey, use discretion. My recommendation: why not play survivor? I'm sure that your view will change on what survivors are saying on slugging/ camping/ tunneling/ hitting on hook. *SMH*

Honestly, when you don't get games like this back to back it's sorta refreshing. It's a decent way to try out a new tactic of looping or evading that, for lack of a better term, is left costly.
Plus, doesn't you ever get tired of hide, fix, run, repeat? Sometimes is just nice and unexpected when something like this comes along. Personally I enjoy it when the game is hardcore pressured for the first whenever the gated are opened (if we don't die) then yeah, blood point me up! Might as well. Hook me or run with me but either way make it entertaining.

Anything you don't like.
If they are P3 they are probably toxic. if its a default survivor they're probably toxic. Any neon outfit is likely toxic, as is anything from the store and also given away for free.
It's the same that makes them toxic. If they do anything you don't like they are toxic.
Examples include - using a toolbox/flashlight/key/medkit in a way that gives them an advantage. Crouching, pointing, emoting 'come here', spinning, and nodding are all toxic.
If the survivor has .ttv, a Russian username, a DBD pun or sexual innuendo in their name they are toxic also.
If they tap generators, totems with TOTH, 99% exit gates, bodyblock for injured survivors, vault the same window 3x, pallet stun you, blind you, repair a generator near you, unhook near you, open the hatch, use the hatch, wait for the hatch or make you swing against a generator then they are toxic.
Good luck.
Heh that's funny. Unless I'm wrong spinning would indicate bloop point farm...? If wanting more blood points is toxic we might as well quit the game.
I think the moral is it's easy to irritate people these days. If it's not something you'd like done to you, either as a survivor OR a killer THEN DON'T DO IT! It's most likely considered rude.
It's a game. Do try to have some fun and remember- these are real people and not CPU, not everyone on the platform is out there to make your night miserable as possible. There are SOME halfway decent players who play just for fun.

-post hooking attacks for no reason
I definitely learned my good etiquette from switching to survivor but there's no hard rules for killet tbh
They do post hooks attacks. A TON. If it's just once it's because it stops the screaming (some killers are more audio based than others so it helps) but I never understood why they do it more than once.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is tunneling? Focusing on one survivor?
Tunneling is usually hooking and re-hooking one individual (to get them out of the game) with indifference to all others. The killer may hit or down another survivor but will usually ignore them until the "preferred" survivor is out and has been sacrificed on hook 2/3 times.
Camping is usually "sitting" withing direct view of the hook and preventing un-hoomkng sequences. This is sometimes confused with patrolling (though that too can be annoying more generally more accessible).
I hope that this clears things up!

Yesterday was my first day playing DBD on PC. I've played for about two weeks on XBOX. The one difference I have noticed thus far: End game chat.
I was called all sorts of fun things at the end of one of my games last night. Camper and hacker being some of the nicer terms.
Here's why, sorry for the length:
I see Claudette from the get go. I am able to get her onto a hook. I start walking away because a gen pops in the distance, but I hear her trying to get off the hook behind me. So I turn and watch her until Daddy Long Legs start to show up due to failed attempts (almost struggle but not quite yet). I was there for maybe 3 seconds. I wasn't trying to camp by any means. I just figured if she's going to have the audacity to try to jump off right then, then I'm justified in observing her. So I go to check a nearby generator. I have the crows, one of them alerted me that a player was in that general area. Naturally she is rescued seconds later. I am able to find her very easily and I hook her again. I start looking in nearby lockers for her rescuer. She gets rescued again while I'm checking lockers. I'm able to down her and start carrying her to a hook. Two survivors block the hook and she wiggles free. I down one of them, and hook him. Then I look around for the other two players in that area. The fourth player unhooks him and they're able to escape through the gate. They burned through those generators. It was maybe a five-six minute game total.
End game chat comes up and they call me a camper for staying in that area. They also express their opinion of me in a very vulgar light. Even though I was actively looking for other survivors I knew were nearby. Then they said I had to be a hacker if I knew they were nearby. 🙄 Perks and eyeballs don't count I guess.
Anyway, should I have simply run off in the beginning instead of waiting the 3 seconds to see if she was going to get off the hook when she was actively attempting to do so right in front of me? As a new player, hindsight tells me I should have focused on the gens more so during that specific match. I legitimately thought they were using her as a distraction due to how easy it was to capture her.
Please productively criticize and give tips. I'm not trying to make the game any more "unpleasant" than it needs to be for other players. I would love to be a well mannered killer. 🤣
Most of the time, we (survivors) have back to back runs. If you've never played survivor, let me tell you it flat out SUCKS to get into a game and go down less than 30 seconds in, then go right back on. I get it, that's the game and all, but game after game it gets to be A LOT. It's frustrating to play 4-5-6 games in a row where you're camped and tunneled.
This doesn't excuse the awful bs in end chat- people are jerks who don't have manners. Don't let them get under your skin, sticks and stones and all that. They're just salty.
Keep your chin up, if you're cool then MORE THAN LIKELY you will run into cool survivors, too. I know I have personally blocked flashlight beams for a killer when he was dope about letting us go, and I will double back and let the killer chase and hook me at EGC if we rushed gens.

So I play the game normally. I chase and hook all the survivors twice while patrolling gens. So I had the problem of I would kill them all every time and it made me feel bad. This led me to make a two hook rule. I will only ever hook survivors twice. Once the last gen is done I slug then all and set them by the gate then open it. Do survivors appreciate this or is it rude?
To be super clear I make the game as fun as possible. I give them super intense chases and pressure gens and make it hard so it’s not a boring game. I play to entertain the survivors tho not to kill them so once we have all had a good time Together I just let them all go.
Personally, I would SO appreciate this! It would be such a nice change to the usual "I guess I'll die then". Please, as long as you're ok with it, keep it up! I think it's incredibly kind!
-
I just think it's mildly annoying that some people work hook and camp from the start ( before a single gen is done). In solo games it's hard enough to survive, you have to prove yourself before anyone will even help you. It's even harder if you get camped- you'd better bet no one's coming for you. I can't even tell you how many times I've depiped because of an early loss like this! Say what you will about perks- some people just don't have them, they're not always accessable. If your survivor is working their bum off and they have no aid, then they're most likely a solo. Give them some love before you hook them- it gives you both more blood points anyways.
Also, this isn't one sided. Is gens are flying I will purposely make noise for the killer and lead a chase- they deserve points too. They might as well make out with few hits and a free hook, even if I don't end up leaving alive. At least they don't walk away completely frustrated by the teabagging, flashlight whipping jerk at the gate. It's a game ment for fun, everyone should have a decent match now and then.

Weirdly enough, I've hade SEVERAL camping killers who will hook in the basement and camp either at the top of the stairs or the bottom, right from the gate. Survivor 1 goes down and 2 gets taken out trying to save the 1st...
Not to mention some hard core tunneling for 1 specific player, only to let the other 3 get away. They would only be hit when they would go to assist. This game is broken and tbh, I'm not sure how much "fixing" will actually help the game at this point.

Im a survivor main but used to play a lot more killer than I do now. At one point I was a rank 6 killer.
Anyways, I didn't touch killer for like 3 months and then noticed rank resets had dropped me all the way back to 20.
Was a little surprised by that. How is that fair for these survivors? I am absolutely demolishing them every game. I'm talking like a full 4k by the time they finish one gen. If anyone survives, its cuz they found hatch before I did.
It's not fun for them, it's zero challenge for me. No one benefits.
I think it's an issue cuz I know players throw games to derank and do this on purpose.
In short, you should only be able to derank one or two tiers from your highest rank. New players have enough hurdles without worrying about former red & purple ranks stomping their heads into the ground at brown ranks.
This explains a lot- there have been several matches lately where the killer just didn't play like a rank 20 typically would...

all of those situations you said are always survivors fault. the only situations that arent are a godly slugging nurse wich is out of your control, potentially Oni slugging if he got his power but this one is tricky, he is stupidly powerfull and slugish with his power mode, and not many more than those.
Well, I do agree that those two as well are powerfull, but they aren't typically the killers who I've been seeing this behavior from if I'm being honest.
If you're the first one down, even if you gave a decent chase, there isn't anything you can do. There are runs where you're just caught off guard. I've literally almost stepped on a Ghostface before. Crazy stuff happens. I was just looking to see if anyone else thought the same way about slugging as I did.
And it was helpful. I don't play killer often, but those who do have given me some pretty dope build ideas. So, thanks for the input.

I try not to be excessive about it but I don't tunnel or camp and sometimes you gotta slug. Sometimes I'm an idiot and I forget where I left you but a lot of the time slugged survivors will try to hide somewhere weird to bleed out, and then complain about being left to bleed out. So don't do that.
Nah, don't feel bad about that. It's understandable if survivors put you in a pinch or present you with the opportunity for two hooks. Normally if the team's got their head on they can work around it. It was more of an irritation on the ones who knock you all down and eat popcorn while you crawl for the duration of the bleed out. Heck, I'd say fair is fair if we rushed 3 or 4 gens and really tied your hands, but down before 1 or 2...

You're complaining about a nearly broken mechanic (slugging) because you lost one person?
You find that annoying when the survivors are forced to bring perks for your built-in mechanic?
Perhaps you haven't been slugged enough as a survivor to understand, slugging does not need a buff, it needs a debuff.
I am a survivor main... And I feel as those I have been slugged enough, thank you. On the day of positing I had 3 back to back where the killer slugged and watched the bleed out, not to mention the randoms I had sprinkled in about the day. I am annoyed that we have to bring in perks- or, more specifically, that some of the better perks to combat the issue aren't always accessable to everyone. But, that's an easier fix.
I wasn't suggesting that anything extraordinary happens with slugging. I was only looking for a polite discussion on other ideas on how it can be altered for a more pleasurable gaming experience on both sides of the hatchet. Killers don't get mad because survivors crawl and hide, and survivors aren't deadlocked in a match for two minutes that we aren't going to win without a very specific build (are you enjoying the puns?). Thank you for your insight.

if the killer gets that many slugs, sorry to tell you that is survivors fault, that should never happen as long as survivors are playing at least decently.
Sometimes it just out of players control- like with Myers or Ghostface. They're there before you know. Or Letherface- he can down and leave two at once if the timing is right.
Sometimes survivors just play crap games. And sometimes killers get lucky. But, its it really necessary for all 4 to be down in the first 3 minutes of the game before a single gen is done? That's what I'm asking here. I'm not trying to step on toes. This is merely food for thought.

"broken"? explain youself, and also why do you think killers need to do it?
i will for you, killers dont have time to make 12 chases, winning them, hook them and apply pressure at the same time at the other side of the map, after all survivors can complete their objective WAY FASTER than killers can theirs. so they slug, they try to get 2 hooked survivors and get rid of one the faster the better. slugging exists because DS exists, but you have another "broken" perk wich counters it entirelly unbrekable, or even better, the new meta is running undying/ruin pick up yourself as many times AS YOU WANT with sould guard.
It would be one thing if survivors we're winning every other game, but from where I'm standing I'm lucky to NOT be slugged or tunneled to death 9/10 games I play.
I'm not saying it isn't a valid strategy. It 100% is. I'm just saying that sometimes it is a bit excessive, that's all.

If Survivors play super optimal, 3 gens are getting popped in 80 seconds and there isn't much you can really do about it.
You can only push off one survivor at a time. Which leaves 3 uncontested, and if you decide to break a chase to go and defend gens again, you still are leaving 3 people uncontested.
Doing gens and being chased is what this game is. We (the survivor) shouldn't be punished for playing. In a good run, I've seen when a gen is finished, killer downs. The second is finished and that survivor is downed. At that point ( if we are scatter brained) two are hooked and two are maybe doing gens (or I've seen PLENTY of locker hiding). Plenty of wham- bam- thank- you- ma'am's to go around. And I've seen when it's downs and no hooks (which is what this originally was referring to). I know that chasing and hooking gets dry. This wasn't to dig or get under anyone's skin. This was simply to look at ways that could continue the game without perks that some may not have access to.

Plus, to put it lightly, PC players aren't exactly known for being nice in the end game chat.

I'll just get straight to the point:
Playing Red Ranks is frustrating because the most prevalent and active strategy used by killers to secure easy victories in this game is Tunneling. You tunnel one guy to death; there is one guy less, and his team is now slower at everything they need to do.
The greatest issues with tunneling are the following things:
Tunnelling is a Good strategy because it removes a opponent from the game early.
Tunnelling is not de-incentivized in any form, shape or way. Making it a good go-to for weaker killers (and killer players)
The person who gets unhooked is always the most vulnerable guy in the survivor team not simply because they were the one who got caught but also because they are Bleeding everywhere, Loudly moaning and go down from a single attack.
There is no good reason for a killer to try and spread his hooks across the survivor team as that simply weakens his ability to slow the game down.
Tunneling is a more difficult problem than Camping: Because in camping the guy sitting on the hook can effectively always waste the killer's time unlike a person being tunneled who is dependent on the map rng, his teammates, his own perks, his teammates perks and the killers ability to cut a chase to a halt.
The second biggest problem with tunneling is simply the fact that Tunneling does not get a easy counter to stop people at higher ranks from utilizing this strategy the way that Camping does.
High-ranked players don't Camp and neither should they Tunnel
Tunnelling is a strategy that becomes more and more powerful on Killers who are good at keeping track and denying a survivors escape (Doctor) and killers who are extremely good at ending a chase or catching up to the survivor (Nurse, Deathslinger, Oni and many others)
Tunnelling is something that should not be getting fixed by having Perks compensate for the lack of gameplay incentives that would discourage tunnelling. (In other words, lets try to find ways to make tunneling not the most optimal strategy without gutting a killers map pressure)
Potential solutions in a bottle:
Make every hook function the way that Pyramid Head's warp cage worksBUTmake it so that when you hook a survivor they warp to one of the three furthest hooks from the killer. If this were implemented in the current state of the game then it would just end up denying killers map pressure that they need. Additionally it might be too much of a hard change to the gameplay so maybe some softer mechanics should be put in place to ease against tunneling.
Incentivize a killer to hook many people to slowdown game progression: Add a de-buff to the individual survivor that slows their ability to repair generators according to how many times they have been hooked something akin to 10/15% and up per hook.
OR
something that debuffs the entire survivor crew for every fresh hook on a fresh survivor. This Debuff could even be something more powerful since it would only last for the duration of that person being hooked or until a health state shift happens? (No idea on what this debuff would be, hence the question mark)
Punish tunneling by coldly taking away Emblem ranks according to how much tunneling is happening (This would actually truly put a stop to high ranked players wanting to tunnel)
Now there may be other more clever ideas to fix the tunneling but the point I am getting at is that I should not want to stop playing this game at High-Ranks because I don't ever get to play the damn game because someone is playing like a homing missile running up my butt-crack the entire time.
Make playing this game enjoyable. End the Tunneling already. (and do keep up the discussion. brainstorming ideas actually gets results)
Tunneling may be a solid way to win, but it makes the game intolerable to everyone. It's one thing when ONE or TWO people do it, but when you play MULTIPLE matches, back to back where you effectively play less than 5 minutes each game: it takes all the worth from the game. Want to know how to keep a toxic player base alive and thriving? You're looking at part of the issue. It's on both sides, and I don't think the toxicity on either side is handled nearly a fraction as well as it should.

Show Survivors each others name in pre-game lobby, but hide them from The Killer for public matches. (This absolutely should be added)
I'd still keep the in-game pause screen names simply because you need at least some way to differentiate name/characters (For Obsession checking). Or remove it and add a player-model tell to see who your Obsession is when you see more than one Survivor at the start.
Until very recently, I never even knew that this was a function, and infact hardly use it (controversial, I know). I fully intend to start using it more (and do now that I've posted the original post).

TBH, while I do think they should add it in, I'm hesitant because of how much more impactful stream-sniping a Killer is than a Survivor (I should know, sometimes when I'm SWF'ed up and someone dies early and they see the Killer is a streamer in the after-match info, they may or may not pop on to see what they're doing). While you can certainly say that "they shouldn't put their handle in their name", part of spreading your 'brand' is by making it visible in-game. Which technically making it visible during a match could also accomplish?
I dunno.
Yes, I suppose that is very true, too. Now that the streamers are mentioned, I do want to say that this was purely for speculation. I don't believe in stream- sniping, but it's not something that I can stop someone from doing. As I've stated before, a lot of survivors have pretty awesome names and I'm sure I'm missing more than a few by just bypassing the ending screen with everyone's info (which I tend to do a lot). With this in mind, I will give more care to stop and look at the killer, too!

I've used the blocking feature plenty of times but only against people that are toxic, if I get my ass handed to me then oh well onto next game but I get everyone wouldn't be like that.
Also I did just tell you a gameplay reason why it should show you in the lobby the name, so killer can match survivor up to their name, especially if you run into a SWF or just a group of randoms who all equip the same outfit. Which I don't know about you but it happens to me a lot, and most of the time I just assume they're having fun matching and having some room to goof around.
And if you have a killer that recognizes your gamertag and wants to bring a Mori specifically for you, then you must have done something to make them feel that way about you. And like I said, just block them at that point, every toxic player I've met on a game I block, and I've never had an issue with that blocked player again.
When I load in matchmaking, if there is more than one survivor playing the same character, I call it "_____ party", so, for example, if we're all Dwight, it's a Dwight Party.

I have to say it...Why do they insult me after a game? I know what it feels like to lose but they exaggerate so much for a game, just because I win and I have a killer power and the survivors don't? A few moments ago I played a game where I knocked down, I hung up, I haven't raced, I haven't tunneled with a trapper and they still get upset because I win, They began to say things to me and you could tell that it was a premade, I also had a game where I lost and they made me t-bags, flashlights, they pointed at me and commented nonsense in the chat, but that did not affect me so much, if I make a comparison with a minecraft game like sky wars, many say gg and not They get upset but in dead by daylight gentlemen, it is where hatred, mockery and desperation to win abound... This publication is not like a complaint but like a kind of criticism, besides I have 580 hours of gameplay and I have learned a lot to play this game, with the basic mechanics etc. but never in my life have I seen so many complaints and comments for a simple game
They're probably just irritated that they got out
Or they're toxic and are abusing the abilities the game gives us. Trapper, in general, isn't fun to play against in my personal experience so I'm willing to bet that they're taking out anger against a not so "fair" trapper from a previous hang against you. It's kind of similar to what I see when I play Bill- I get tunneled and camped because they ASSUME I'm running specific perks even if I've not t-bagged or been a jerk. When you get a good match where it's "even" in skills and people are playing to have fun it's a great game. If they play to be a dick, then that's when you get the comments and the other bs. Keep you chin up and don't let them get to you, not everyone's and ass.

Man, I wish I could grab people when they're unhooking. All I ever do is pat them on the shoulder and stare at the hook while they run away. :(
Keep trying! The animation for it is pretty awesome! It was probably one of my favorite things that have happened in this game so far. It's gems like this (for me, at least) that make this game worth the playing still with all the other junk still going in in it.

It isn't a glitch. It is normal game play. I pride myself on getting at least 1+ grabs every game. It is a timing thing. To work the Killer must be very close. Learn to keep your head on a swivel so you see him/her coming and move and you will just get hit rather than grabbed. You can also act like you are going to unhook, interrupt so they start their animation and then move which causes them to fail and buys you a brief few seconds.
Thank you for the insight! This is very helpful!

The timing for grabs is really strict on unhooks and most people fake it so the killer just gets a hit instead of a grab.
That's why most killers don't bother trying anymore and just lunge to get the hit faster
That one encounter, out of the months I've been playing, was the only one I had seen it- I thought it was something new! I've only ever seen it as explained earlier- as a swing after an unhook. I'm glad to see that there's new strategy to uncover, even if they aren't necessarily "new" to the game.

You can also grab people who are waking up via a clock. Kinda obscure and not useful at all but I found this out when I had to play Freddy for a daily.
I've never had an encounter with Freddy where this has happened! Now it makes me think I'm missing out on something...
