    The Nightmare:

Barbecue & Chili, Dark Devotion, Distressing, Infectious Fight

BBQ is just for points, while the other three make up a Stupid Build that revolves around terror radius perks on a Killer that regularly negates his own terror radius. Dark Devotion is one of my favorite "for fun"perks and I always get a laugh whenever I get Infectious Fright to trigger.

I once had someone get mad at me to the point of D/Cing in endgame because I used Infectious and Barbecue together. They didn't seem to grasp my point that I was using Infectious on Freddy.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1827102#Comment_1827102

Hang on a second, Dark Devotion's effect persists in a Cage of Atonement? That DOES sound fun.

Stupid question: Does a DD'd Survivor keep the Terror Radius while on a hook, too? I confess that, much as i enjoy the perk, I never thought much about that aspect of it.

Yep. I've really been enjoying Pyramid Head because of it. See, Nemesis selects your obsession, giving you their aura for a few seconds at the loop right? Well, shoot your red beam at them through the wall. That should injure them. Then just dragging your trail around will torment them. Give them a bap and now you're undetectable for 30 seconds. Shoot them off and away they go with your terror radius!

I've ended games by becoming suddenly undetectable and catching the gen jockey or two survivors healing off guard. I even had a Quentin just stand still after I downed the Feng he was healing. I know I jumpscared him irl.

So yes, the tagged survivor in the cage now has your terror radius making people hesitant to save and you become a terror for 30 seconds since the cage is basically instant. Paired with Nemesis it wins me games because nobody expects it. It's a meme but I love it.

  • I'm pretty sure when we first loaded the game there was a pop up that said we have to hate each other as soon as we pick our role.

Brother picks killer and you pick survivor? He's dead to you now. It's just the way it is.

  • This thread. It was made for me.

Survivor: Stake Out/Lithe/Self Care/Soul Guard - Why? Because why not. Who needs synergy?

Trapper - Haunted Grounds/Blood Warden/Discordance/Overcharge - It's a trap. One that you must step in.

Wraith - Nurses Calling/Distressing/Bloodhound (or NOED)/Deerstalker - Ran with "The Beast" Soot and usually a speed up while cloaked add on. Survivors usually dunno how to react.

Hillbilly - Ruin/Distressing/Tinkerer/Devour Hope - It's quiet. TOO quiet...(Chainsaw all game except for when tinkerer procs)

    Nurse - Nurses Calling/Monitor and Abuse/Sloppy Butcher/Thanatophobia - It's safe to heal don't worry. I don't hear her terror radius...

Huntress - Monitor and Abuse/Iron Grasp/Spies from the Shadows/Brutal Strength - How did she get so close? Basement time.

Shape - Nemesis/Furtive Chase/Rancor/Deathbound - It's Obsession roulette time! A lot of survivors like this build and compliment me on it.

    Hag - Nurses Calling/Brutal Strength/Monitor and Abuse/Knockout - I can't hear her...where was that person downed? It's safe to heal right?

    Doc - Brutal Strength/Bamboozle/BBQ/Remember Me - Defenses? What's that?

Leatherface - Knockout/Ruin/Devour Hope/Nurses Calling - Hope you find the right totem! ...and your friend.

Freddy - Devour Hope/Ruin/Nurses Calling/Monitor and Abuse - Because I'm not very nice.

Pig - Monitor and Abuse/Enduring/Devour Hope/Ruin - I like hearing the pallet squeaks, fite me.

    Clown - Monitor and Abuse/Huntress Lullaby/Ruin/BBQ - Skillchecks amirite?

Spirit and Legion are kinda meta so skipping them

Plague - Corrupt Intervention/Ruin/Play with your food/Enduring - Oh you're injured? Don't mind if I catch up really fast.

Demogorgon - Haunted Grounds/Ruin/Rancor/Pop goes the weasel - Kinda standard but I like how it can rout a team quickly.

    Oni is meta

    Deathslinger - Nurses Calling/Thrilling Tremors/Devour Hope/Make your Choice - I just like it. lol.

Pyramidhead - Blood Warden/Nemesis/Dark Devotion/Ruin - Tap a tormented obsession and send him far away...with your terror radius. Have fun. Blood Warden has gotten me some really cheeky 4ks too.

Blight - Hex:Retribution/Thrill of the Hunt/Undying/Distressing - Please don't touch my totems noooooo

Twins - Opression/Ruin/Hex: The Third Seal/Cruel Limits - Perks are centered around Charlotte. Park Charlotte in a window heavy area and suddenly big uh-oh for the survivors.

God this game has a lot of killers now don't it? Lol. Weeeee

  • It's about the same EST. At least mori got nerfed right?

It's pretty easy to bait out dead hard, especially when you get comfortable with blink timers. You can swing at the last second from fatigue, or hold your 2nd blink until last second, etc. And in solo queue, it's so easy to just destroy peple regardless. I'll also willingly eat DS or BT if someone farms someone in front of me, because I can instantly down them again. =/ Problem is that it gets boring, especially because the times I play at seem to get such mediocre players. Maybe it would be more fun during full swing sweats times.

Just my opinion obviously but full sweat teams are how you really gain true mastery imo. They'll pull out all the stops and test you intimately. Feels good to beat them after getting stunned 400 times in a row.

  • There's very little that can compare to running honing stone as Trapper and having all four survivors step in a trap at the same time. Its only happened once in like 3 years of playing, but all I could do was be like.

"hm hm hm hm. Truly, I have outplayed you in one hundred thousand ways."

The only killer I fear at skill cap is the Huntress though, so I'm going to go with her. A nurse can never counter Dead Hard. She'll always miss one swipe against top tier players. Huntress hatchets go through the character model and stay in it for that hit.

  • I like Hex: Retribution, Thrill of the Hunt, Franklin's and Undying.

No totems. No items. No generators. Have a rotten holiday random survivor. Bah humbug.

  • I guess ~technically~ you can preserve a hook that would get broken during the sacrifice so you'd still have an extra hook available to you.

Also kind of a tangent if you want to see some vault power run Myers in T3 with max Fire up, Bamboozle and Coup De Grace. Zoom.

I actually let the really good players go in those games because I know how much it sucks to be on that end of the shtick as survivor.

Don't worry. Once you reach rank 17, the matchmaking thinks you're fit to face red ranks.

That's also a way to discourage new killers...

It's the other way too. I just destroyed a Rank 20 Dwight and a rank 17 as a red rank killer.

That Dwight didn't deserve that final judgment. I didn't knooooooooow.

I'm usually being chased and I'm pretty good at it, that's how I know all my teammates are doing nothing. Not only do I know I've bought them enough time, but when I'm finally downed, all three are just standing still doing nada. You're definitely right though - most of the time your groups is NOT doing gens. I just get found first a lot so I'd have to completely change how I play this game. I think my best option is to just die and get out. In these situations if I don't finish the gen, no one does. Most of the time I can't because I'm already injured and my teammates are doing nothing.

Honestly I find a lot of survivor to be RNG because 3/4 of what happens is out of your control in the truest sense. Pipping is up to the individual player, while escaping is a team effort. Be not ashamed of the sacrifice, for sometimes it is your salvation.

  • The best thing to do as a solo is gen jockey because there's no guarantee your group is going to be doing them. It can mean the difference between an escape and a depip. So if I'm on gens and my team just derped out I still have Objective points. I'll go run in and unhook as many as I can for Altruism points, which usually gets me into a chase so I last as long as I can for chaser points.

An easier way to say all that is...when all is lost, do things that getcha points.

  • I've had survivors give up on hook when I teabag them as Ghostface.

  • Nightmare on Elm Street is just too strong of a DLC nowadays. Dang.

  • Survivor queues are impressive and Killer queues are instant. I've been killing survivors all day and they just keep coming.

    I need backup.

Why would you answer question you don't know answer for? Rat liver increases your speed while holding shred

Ah, thank you thank you I feel so bad now lol!

I do a lot of these forum posts off memory and I play all killers on a rotation. It was inevitable I'd mess up an add on at some point or something. Thank you for correcting me guys.

This is a random question, I don't have demo, so is rat liver actually good? I always see demos running it lol

It gives you an extra portal and survivors control your power. If they don't cleanse your portals you can't place anymore. Rat Liver gives you a lot more map control. (If used properly.)

  • I hard disagree.

My Myers runs Rancor/Nemesis/Furtive Chase/Deathbound. I get compliments.

My Pyramid Head runs Nemesis/Dark Devotion/Ruin/Blood Warden. They seem to like it.

My Blight runs Hex: Retribution/Thrill of the Hunt/Undying/Discordance. They really want to cleanse those totems...you know?

My Trapper is meta but...I normally play him to destroy, not to play. (I play around anyway but don't tell anyone.)

It's all in the execution. Of course, and people will be executed whether they like the builds or not.

  • I'd just enjoy the novelty. It's something fresh from the usual match you have to go through.

If you want to survive, keep in mind Myers always knows what you're doing. There is -zero- point in hiding. If all four of you hop on gens and he pressures one person, 3 gens should pop by the time his slow butt gets across the map. Then just repeat it a second time to escape.

The longer you're cautiously putting around, the more time Myers has to take advantage of that.

  • Rank 1 Huntress. You don't even have to face her directly. You just hear a noise from across the map.

'HUA!' Suddenly a survivor is injured.

'HUA!' Two seconds later the survivor is down.

    Okay. That's unfortunate I guess.

You don't hear anything at all, except the noise of a hatchet flying through the air as it connects with you while you're on a generator.

There's a sinking feeling in your stomach. More dangerous than the Nurse. It's a Rank 1 Huntress.

There's five gens to go, but all you can do is stare at the exit gates. You now hear the hum.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsrclNKmy8o

  • I got the latter after I shattered a green rank lobby right after reset (I'm a red rank killer). I was sort of on autopilot and I assumed they were going to be sweaty and I consistently had 2 people hooked at a time that round.

I think the reality of survivor vs. killer hasn't set in for them and you know when you're a new killer you want to be nice and play by the survivor's rulebook. (Says the guy who is very, very capricious I know lol).

They volunteered to be a killer's dog toy and are shocked when they get torn up by an experienced doggo. Why did the doggo bite me I don't understand. Right friends? Yes yes.

The only correct thing to do is press on them harder until they understand they need to escape the trial. Not derp around because they have friends in the game with them.

  • Killers are good folk. Every time I'm down they pick me up, though they do leave me hanging a lot...I guess they could be more thoughtful in that regard.

  • Borrowed Time used to be one use per trial but it protected both the rescuer and the hooked person. (ie if a hillbilly chain sawed the rescuer the rescuer would only go into proto-mending) Now that it's gone trading at the hook is more common. Unless my team is going down -that- quick I don't really rescue more than once or twice per trial usually. Kinda hard to imagine BT with a cooldown.

  • I just use Victor as a scout by putting him in high traffic areas and letting killer instinct tell me when survivors are in that area. However I think I'm the only one that plays the twins like that. A lot of people seem to enjoy running around with Victor and downing multiple people before going back to Charlotte while I primarily play her.

If you get right up on a survivor with Victor you'll always hit your pounce with him.

I like Deathbound since it lets you know where survivors are. STBFL is so-so, but as soon as I say that someone will sing its praises.

I've always found pallet perks like that setup iffy because with them, instead of getting discouraged and dropping a chase, you'll continue to chew up pallets and chase that same survivor. If that survivor is taking you on a map tour early into the game that can really compromise your chances of winning. It may work for you though so don't take that as gospel. I'd consider any gen defense perk because well. You're red rank. you know why.

  • I've always thought Distortion tickets should have let your survivor mimic wraith bell noises and cloak for 30 seconds. The killer can still track you by listening for your survivor screaming like they're injured.

  • accidents.jpg

Body is 1 character too short.

  • Yeah but you can create white O R B S. Orbs man. Orbs. Up to five of them.

  • First have her use this.

You may know me from Metro/Narejj streams, or because of my youtube channel. Jk, nobody knows me I'm a French LoL and DbD player, currently studying IT and I like to make useless stuff like this.

Then once she's comfortable with skill checks and is trained to listen to the chime, it'll help her get muscle memory. When I do skill checks I usually only half look at the skill check circle to get a general idea of where the 'good' area is. (This is why Doc is a newbie killer with those warping skill checks.)

Then when she's comfortable doing that. Play DbD muted for a while. Get rid of your reliance on sound so Huntress Lullaby doesn't get you.

Then when you're comfortable with that. Just play the game blindfolded. You don't need to see to play this game.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfd7E-f7Wuw

Once you play the game enough you can just boot it up and play while you're asleep. It's not that hard I promise.

Wouldn't surprise me if they put the frosty eyes up for sale after their codes expire, but I imagine that would make a lot of people extremely mad.

Honestly they should toss everything in there eventually. Charms, exclusives, legacy look alikes, or at least do something like the charity case in the days before the store. A lot of cosmetics are just rotting away never to be seen again and someone, somewhere, at some point will want to wear Ohm's wraith skin.

  • They want you to go into the store, see something cool and buy it.

  • If I'm trying to win I run Self Care/Botany Knowledge/Desperate Measures/Soul Guard, usually with a medkit.

I heal during chases, and if I pull someone off the hook I get increased healing speed on them. If you're running meta I cannot be slugged.

Dwight is too powerful and cannot be stopped.

  • Hopefully that frustration doesn't Boil Over. I know it takes a bit of Tenacity not to Flip-Flop, but it's a Power Struggle between you and the killer.

  • No and it has always been nice to have Steam go down mid-match and then at the score screen you get disconnected and it was like that match never happened.

  • Ash tops my list when I'm playing killer. Everyone else goes down like they're supposed to but if its a survivor that really take a lot of time to take down, it's probably someone playing Ash. Don't get me wrong. Some Ash players go down really easy...but if it's taking a minute...it's probably an Ash player.

  • Everyone's complaining about hexes always being active and here I am running soul guard.

  • It used to be, assuming you single pipped every match, you'd have to play for 40 hours to go from Rank 16 or so to rank 1. Of course, you'd only have to get like 10k points to pip until the killer cube happened. I distinctly remember whining about it myself because it took so long.

    Legendary survivor.png

Note the lack of cosmetics/charms lol. A week later I was back in brown ranks. Now I can't escape red ranks even if I want to. Sure more people are in red ranks but...they're in a shark tank. They'll either get better or get eaten.

  • Make it the reverse of Desperate Measures. The stronger your team is, the more motivated you become and heal faster.

  • Ambiance and Midwich style jumpscares (like the corpse that flops out of one of the lockers)

The thing is the killers themselves are scary, but eventually they become just like the special infected in Left 4 Dead 2. You call out what they are and you keep them from applying too much pressure to your group. You'll eventually numb yourself to their effects.

Finish a generator and watch debris fall from the walls or an unearthly wail come out louder than the generator completion ding. If it doesn't scare you, it'll put you on edge.

  • Why do you think some of us are so lax on the rift? As long as it isn't a charm we'll all get the toys eventually.

Sounds like Maze Runner. Could be interesting as it would take ages for people to memorize everything so both sides would equally struggle to win I guess.

That Agony setup would work I think

  • I had rainbow ranks/green rank SWFs tonight. The problem? I'm a red rank killer set up to deal with red rank teams. These poor saps did not know what hit them.

  • I want something surreal. Like walking on flesh/entity legs, and when a survivor is sacrificed instead of going into the sky they get pulled into the wall and consumed with blood sprays. Indoor map with glimpses of outer space in the skybox.

  • I'm all ears/nemesis/enduring can be lethal on Pyramid Head.

It gives you a lot of insight into a survivor's actions during loops and you can capitalize on it.

  • Run up to the hook, unhook the survivor and then take a hit from the killer. If you get hit on the approach abandon the save and let another survivor do it. Trading loses games.

  • Uh there's one in Hawkin's Lab iirc. You know that big area where there's a glass viewing room and there's always a gen up top or in the corner with two drop down areas on the first floor? In there to the right there's a garage looking door that only Nurse can blink through.

Get up kinda next to it and fully charge your blink and you should get in.
