  • I had a farm game with survivors yesterday when one of their teammates were afk and I could tell if I pushed hard on them they were gonna quit on me lol.

I'm notoriously capricious/whimsical when I'm playing killer. Can I play seriously? Yes. Do I? Not often. We exist in red ranks. We're there.

  • I was bodyblocking for another survivor who was about to go down vs. the Oni.

Instead of swinging his sword at me, the Oni used his power and went into rage mode.

At least the guy I was blocking for didn't go down...

  • I have trouble figuring out what you can throw over and what you can't, especially with the new map reworks. Will I figure it out? Yeah.

Will I figure it out overnight? Eh.

  • Unless he's a 500 IQ god, Blight can't handle loops. Treat him like an M1 killer in loops. When he's trying to catch up, hug debris in the field...unless you're in a corn field. Just stay away from places Blight can bounce around. You'll get hit eventually like with every M1 killer, sure, but that power isn't as strong as it seems.

  • Everything I do is a gosh darn meme build.

I've been using Hex: Retribution /Thrill of the Hunt / and Undying on Blight though. You gotta clean the totems, I might have something that's actually dangerous like Devour Hope. Oh no please leave my totems alone. I'm begging you aaaaaa

  • Remember to run Coup De Grace in your Freddy builds for maximum survivor entertainment.

  • What we really need is a middle game collapse.

Just collapsing all game every game.

Edit: Actually I made this as a meme post but thinking more on it, it would actually be kinda cool if like every 2 minutes the Entity started creaking or something and the map and gameplay conditions were altered in a way.

  • 90% of the time I slug someone and go do something else that survivor is gone forever. I'll never see them again no matter how hard I look.

Not even after they get healed. They're just not visible anymore. Such is life.

  • Survivor side I see rank as a way to tell how likely that teammate is to pull you off the hook, because Altruism is a big part of survivor pipping.

You might even get borrowed time out of it if you're lucky, but the higher rank they are the more likely you're getting pulled off that hook one way or another.

Rank 20 Claudette is working on her Botany Knowledge. She ain't comin'.

  • I'll second Huntress. I'm bad. Like, bad in ranks where you can't be bad.

Spirit gets an honorable mention. I'm bad at hearing where you went.

  • Uh. Play a Mario Kart game and play a round as Bowser. It kind of feels like that.

You can't be stealthy with Oni. His terror radius is kinda quiet but the Oni stomps everywhere. Like STOMP STOMP STOMP. Anyone with good ears always knows where you are. Getting your first hits is just a basic M1 killer.

A lot of people play Oni with Infectious Fright. This is because when you get your power you can charge around for a limited time and demolish people in one hit. I personally find the kanabo really hard to aim, but some people are good at it. I cannot use the kanabo in loops so that might be a personal failing but if you catch a survivor off guard when dashing around it's game over for them. It's just about tying that all together.

Most commonly, someone will say it when they've got no pressure and end up chasing a survivor for two minutes straight, somehow expecting generators not to go off.

A more reasonable definition is when they bring in four toolboxes and only do generators- no totems, no healing, even delaying rescues- literally spending every second that they're not being chased on a generator. (Not very common.)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dpl-UtNqaEo

Body is 1 character too short.

  • Grats! I've been imprisoned in Red Ranks for a long time now. Yes, the same gamer that once casually played so I was always paired with newbies and played with them appropriately.

I just brush off the super sweat games, but even with my meme builds I catch some off guard because it's not what they're used to. You get used to it though. Turns out they die just like everyone else.

  • Here's the deal with Pyramid Head. He's an M1 killer with a short ranged attack. That red trail? You can crouch over it and not be tormented. As long as you don't stand/walk/run through it you can avoid it. If Pyramid already knows where you are then the red trail/torment is useless as long as Pyramid Head doesn't down you.

Yes it can end up disabling a lot of hook related perks, but run perkless for a few games until you realize how silly reliance on perks is. It's a lot easier than it sounds. Rip off the bandage.

As far as the short ranged attack, keep in mind it's short ranged. Some Pyramid Heads will run a perk called "I'm all ears" Which lets them see you after you vault. Assume all Pyramid Heads run it. Run away from the loop and only use pallets when you need to. Do it long enough and your team will finish the gens and you can just walk out.

  • It all depends. Sometimes survivors just keep popping up for me. I'm not going to let them wander off and do their objective just because I hooked them a little bit ago. Survivors in a team of 4 can end the game in under five minutes. Not all games will be like that, but games run together. You never know how tough the survivors are until you're cutting them in half.

Just remember. Your objective is to survive. At all costs. You can do that, right?

  • It feels like every four survivors I cut down, four more pop up in their place.

How many of them are you!?

    Thanks for the answers guys!

By shot I guess you mean M1 or a hatchet, yeah I do tend to down people quite often, I just had this idea after one game I lost when I got flashlight blocked about 2-3 times trying to hook someone, I believe Infectious would totally counter that as I'd be able to down, scare off, or at least be aware of the incoming flashlight and angle (e.g. look at a wall when picking up)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1809766#Comment_1809766

So I do have BBQ and Bitter Murmur on right now, I was considering swapping Bitter out for IF but obviously keeping BBQ. Yeah I don't have Whispers yet on the Huntress, but that would definitely be a consideration for the slot when I get it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1809769#Comment_1809769

+1, yeah I do like Whispers, use it on most other killers, it would take the bitter murmur spot I think if I had it on Huntress

You could toss on Lightborn. I just don't like Bitter Murmur because you're planning for failure instead of success. Survivors aren't always going to finish every gen every game.

  • Switching Bitter Murmur for infectious could be doable. As long as you can get a shot off on whoever you see. (Depends on your personal skill).

  • You're not gonna get banned. Don't cuss people out and don't use third party programs and you're fine.

Play as dirty as you want, there are no repercussions.

  • Pyramid Head's the strongest out of the three. I like using meme perks on him like Dark Devotion/Nemesis. Just drag your sword during loops and M1 people.

Clown and Oni are fun, but Clowns getting a rework and Oni is kinda hard to get used to when he's charging.

  • I do think it would be cool if they went a step further and sorted perks by hexes. Like a little drop down menu that said 'generator defense' and 'chase' and 'utility' etc. I've been running Hex: Retribution on my Blight with Undying and hoo boy howdy only 2 groups have seen it coming today.

  • Just make a big empty map with a giant tree in the middle and call it "Shelter Woods".

Actually take Shelter woods and get rid of the jungle gyms etc on the sides of the map, and instead make it one long trailer park hallway like Midwich.

Oh and have a basement level with lots of breakable walls. No hooks should spawn down there though.

  • Beep boop. Bot has escaped through the exit gate.

    Commence rapid crouch.exe

Beep boop. Bot has completed [Killer pallet stun] objective.

    Commence rapid flashlight click.

    Beep boop. Nothing happened.

    Commence rapid crouch.exe anyway.

  • Back in the day we used to ride those things for miles.

    冗談だけですよ. え、ノマルです。

    2.

  • I drop Victor down in some tall grass or in a corner and start patrolling with Charlotte, and if anyone runs by Victor they light up with the killer instinct and I go back with Charlotte to hit them.

This lets me have eyes in two places at once. I don't really use Victor for more than a scout though. I find running around with him/downing people with Victor obnoxious because I have to walk over there with Charlotte anyway.

  • The only benefit I really see is that you don't have a hook break on you when the survivor is sacrificed. At least you won't depip/safety pip under this current system if you use moris so that's okay-ish.

  • You are already vaulted.

  • The grind is really bad if you're trying to make all choices available to you at all times, but if you have a main killer or survivor or build you want to use, just focus on those teachables and that character and it's much easier.

Besides if later you decide you want to Prestige you have to start from scratch on that character...which isn't as bad if you use up all the add ons/items on that character first.

  • Zarina's middle eastern ain't she?

Edit: I saw you mentioned Zarina in your post. I wouldn't mind hooking someone purely of Indian origin though. Make it happen BHVR.

  • I tunnel survivors sometimes because they just keep jumping in front of my weapon. Really. No other reason.

  • I like Rancor with Nemesis. It usually means if the gens all pop I'm probably in chase with someone and they're about to become a martyr.

I always liked Devour Hope over Mori offerings because survivors played more cautiously when there was a mori offering. They didn't really start actively looking for Devour Hope until someone got downed and the exposed notification popped up. Both choices have an element of surprise to them, but getting a 4 kill Devour Hope set is one of the best feelings this game has to offer.

  • I never used Mori offerings because at high ranks it'd doom you to either safety or depipping.

    Well, it's their funeral.

  • Ha. Ha. Ha. Foolish survivors. You think you've won? You think now that just because my offering will allow me to mori you after the entity has been summoned you will somehow live longer? Avoid your penultimate fate?

    I will devour your hope.

  • I wanna see Ace in a Japanese cat suit with the giant yellow coin on his head. He has other cosmetics from the east. It'd fit. Nice white kitty cat with a big shiny gold coin. He'll hide really well in it.

  • High level Hags do that to you on purpose. If you're on PC hold your right mouse button down while you're dealing with Hag to switch your view back really quick.

The entrance has been made just wide enough for a survivor to run past and then they are in a building loop.

Aren't we not supposed to camp?

Not camping is a survivor rule, not a game rule. However as an experienced killer I can tell you by doing that you lose a lot of map pressure and that can ultimately lose you the game. All it takes is one survivor running Kindred or Borrowed Time and you've wasted all of your time sitting there.

Should you camp? Eh, there are times it's a way to win the game, but usually there's better things to do with your time.

  • The very first killer you get access to is the Trapper, who can set traps and completely shut down any rescue attempts for survivors in the area, so long as he stays nearby. Same with Hag, it can very easily turn incredibly nasty.

Though it's frowned upon in the survivor community (and nowadays hurts your pip chances) the basement was set up so it would be very hard to rescue someone without another person going down. There's even a perk devoted to the basement hooks called Monstrous Shrine but nobody uses it (and I think it has been bugged for a long time anyway).

I use the basement when I can, but the real benefit is making survivors hesitant to save. You can be off on the other side of the map doing something else but I promise you those survivors are going to be on edge the entire time they're down there.

It's because people are way too PC these days and self absorbed to the point that they find ridiculous things to get offended over , they probably only want it so samination can give it a voice and a parody more than they actually want it in the game , watch and see when they implement it people will cry it's not a good representation or they don't like how they look

I've lost friends with great potential that got lost in these sorts of politics.

It hurts, but reducing oneself to a label when you can be greater isn't something I can accept for those I care about. I only hope that one day they will see I was right.

  • Here's my thing about it. You can say your x y z but unless you're actually doing it, it's all lip service.

Like as a straight man, I can appreciate a body builder. They look great. They do a good job. I can say man that dude is hot. Doesn't mean anything. I can say it's my identity, but it's not. A person is more than their sexuality.

You can partake in gay acts. You can let people know that hey. I do those things, but you are not defined by it. If you're trans then you probably want to be treated like the gender you're transitioning to. You'd take on that genders characteristics and there wouldn't be a second guess. You can't say I'm transitioning to a straight man and date men. A straight man wouldn't date a straight man. You know?

Now translate that to the game. A lot of men get penetrated (on hooks) in this game. You're probably not going to treat the survivor any different due to their sexuality because stereotypes. They're just going to be a normal survivor. Unless you put a paragraph in the lore or something.

    I don't get it.

Well, I'm not sorry, you're not sorry.

But in all seriousness, be like me: pick a killer, bring the secret shroud offerings, slug survivors and if possible make a pile, then pick one so he can help others and let them all go.

While you all test survivors' dexterity and endurance, I test their willpower....those who don't DC in fear of a Mori get rewards. My killer doesn't rank up, but in return I teach new survivors not to DC.

    You.

    I like you.

  • My two cents is it's kind of hard to be bi in the fog. You're not with anyone. You're on stand bi. Unless it's like a paragraph in their lore but that just makes them a normal character. (Though thinking about it that might be good for more strict countries. Just edit the snippet.)

Trans people are supposed to be the gender they're transitioning to, so like. It's a normal person unless you give them a paragraph in the lore. I don't get it but whatever floats your boats.

  • Hey are you guys closed? I just need to pick up a few things please don't close yet.

    Five minutes I swear.

  • I tunneled tonight with Pyramid Head because I was in a bad mood.

    I'm not sorry.

  • I've thought for a long time if a survivor is idle and suffering a status affliction they should have an animation that plays for the duration of the effect, but it shouldn't interrupt normal gameplay.

  • I like Coup De Grace. The only issue I see is that if you're using it, you're not using a "meta" perk that could give you more of an edge. As someone that occasionally misses lunges I could see it definitely making a difference.

  • I love the no perk achievement.

I like the others in the thread just walk in with a med kit and that's all I really need.

  • You either escape as a survivor or live long enough to become the killer.
