Yes, the ample tactical counterplay of... Holding M1 and W. Throwing pallets that didn't matter and vaulting windows that didn't matter. And going down without having anything you could do.
I mean, hey, if you enjoyed Old Legion more power to you. I personally think he almost killed the game.
what was old legion i wasn't here for that

If you read here, you will believe killers are weak and survivors are OP. However, your opinion is fully accurate that killers are extremely overpowered. Even with thousands of hours, you can play 10 matches as survivor and every match is completely hopeless. Play killer and win every single match. Something needs to be done. The devs need to stop camping and tunneling with NOED and balance their game so it is fair. Look at their stats and stop ignoring them.
@sonyasiren your new to these forums. i look like im new but im not. anyways just as a heads-up sluzzy is a know troll.

Ok. First my choice is the ring and second thank you for making this now I can use to decide my next poll.

This is a weird question for me. i've always imagined myself as a killer if i were to get sucked into this game.

i mean, it gets very unmotivating to continue without the assurance that gameplay will become more fair. also i can form an opinion on killers after 30 rounds :/ i just pointed it out cause i was hoping for tips on improvement and i did get lots of help so i definitely don’t regret making this post
One thing you need to keep in mind is matchmaking isn't the best so you could easily be placed way above or way below your skill level.

Doesn't help that a lot of people can't really agree on the definitions of what things like 'Tunnelling' and 'Camping' actually are
They've become vague umbrella-terms
Yeah. Tunneling to me is like going after the same person that just got off the hook while ignoring everything else that is/might be going on. Face-camping is well I don't think i need to explain that one do I.
-
And in chases you can escape

Since the devs seem to love campers and tunnlers because they are kissing their asses by not punishing this at all, what could they do in a world, where they would want to change something?
I thought of slower dying on the hook and floor, when the killer is beneath the hook for too long.
I know, they are saying that this is a tactic and the remaining survs could do gens instead, but what is about the surv who will depip and won´t make any points, just because a random person in the internet decided to be a complete dick.head?
This is simply not fair. Also they should do something against flashlight clicking and teabagging by stopping the animation and not letting the survivor using his flashlight / crouching for like 20 seconds after he spammed it. This would cause them to not doing it so much anymore.
I assume, that we had plenty threads like this before, but this is the big minus of the game, it should stop toxic people to project their anger on other people.
I'm just going to say what I've always said. Make more killer perks that discourage these activities that way people don't run them have free will to do what they want and people who do run them will not camp or tunnel unless absolutely necessary. Anyways not all people do it be toxic. They do it because its the best strategy.

So I was having a HORRIBLE game, I could not for the love of god get any skills checks, I messed up on practically every single one. My teammates were good but not great and we were going against a pretty good huntress. After the first two people die we still have 4 gens left and I was just ready for the game to end, so I did a quick vault to get the killer attention and pointed to a hook so I could just leave already and hope that the Claudette that was left could find the hatch. The killer came and I pointed to the hook but she wouldn't hook me, so I go back to miserably doing gens and failing every single skill check. The huntress comes over throws a hatch at a totem for me to cleanse and goes back looking for Claudette. The Claudette was hiding because I think she figured that the huntress was leaving me be. Finally she gets caught and dies, the huntress closes the hatch and let's me escape. Im sure she only left me out of pity for how sucky I was but never the less a good experience.
There are multiple good sports dbd players. You've just never heard of em because people on the forums tend not to make any discussions about things that make them feel good. most forum posts are feedback, complaints, critiscisms etc.

Oh I know there are more nice killers, met them myself too.
They aren't rank bound tbh, they are in all ranks.
Some ranks there are more than others, mostly because in red ranks you'd get more punished for being nice than say in green ranks.
I guess I should re-word it. Good sports are more prominent in lower ranks.

perks are not balance, and why would a perk deter you when you can just not use it
I'm not saying this will solve it I'm saying that's the best suggestion I've seen.
-
@Yords said:
It isn't
that actually depends. there are 4 types of swfs. Try-hard death squads, competent swfs, incompetent swfs, and not on comms swfs. incompetent ones and ones on comms are esentially similar to solo q.

@Trwth said:
Honestly, I feel like I can safely say the game has never been more balanced. For the past few weeks, I never felt frustrated by any flawed mechanics or that any of my losses were unfair. Sure, there's still a few hitches here and there (Spirit, Keys, etc.) but otherwise things are pretty alright.
well I mean without proper matchmaking you can't accurately gauge what is balanced. In general i think its balanced but you can't be sure as long as rank 2's are going against rank 20's.

Yeah believe it or not, there are some nice killers around.
If 1 or more dc I always give the last survivor the hatch.
Sometimes it makes me depip or draw, but i don't mind that.
Tbh was also pretty surprised she dc'd just as I gave her the hatch, but yeah some people can't handle defeat and/or kindness.
After the matched I asked them why they dc'd, but as no surprise there was only silence.
There are nice killers. In fact around green ranks I've noticed many players are good sports.
-
My preposition is to make more killer perks that discourage these activities. I've said this multiple times.

With all the new buffs for killers the camping and tunneling has gotten to a ridiculous level. I've basically dropped the game due to getting annoyed with terrible teammates and killers entitlement. As a killer they just think they should get 4k just cause when the most op perks require very little skill on the killers part (NOED and devour hope immediately jump to mind) and complain the second the survivors get literally anything to make their lives easier. The game is supposed to be in favor of the killer but now it's just gotten to where the devs don't seem to want the survivors to make it and side with killer mains. It's sad
I disagree with almost all of that.
-
THIS IS THE SECOND NECRO TODAY. On the same topic as the first.
-
The main problem is you can't accurately balance anything when matchmaking is broken.

I feel so bad for the actual low rank killers I've been facing. Can definitely tell what would normally be a low rank killer v one that got the reset bug and should be high rank. I feel like such a bully with the ones that are committing to chases they shouldn't or can't even hook a person all match. I keep giving them kill at end because I can't imagine these matches are feeling nice to them.
I played one match where a rank 20 trapper went against 2 rank 2's me as a rank 12 and a purple rank.
-
@Yords said:
I played last night and can confirm, there are actually good sports around the lower ranks. They actually COMPLIMENTED me like wth man. It is pretty uncommon for them to actually praise me for slaughtering them, usually I get death threats and the classic "Get a fricking life you absolute trash killer main".
There were only two matches where the survivors were salty, at their teammates. One guy was just going AFK randomly but then would move once I started to chase her. The other game, the survivors were just incompetent and did not go for a save and let one person die while the other person went to struggle.
I try to be a good sport gg wp message to anyone I go against that's on the ps4.

@Beaburd said:
Need a proper matchmaking system before anything else is considered balance wise.
I just finished, as a rank 1 solo queue survivor, a game with a rank 20, rank 16, and rank 8 vs a rank 6.
Everyone died before I even got hooked once, despite me trying to take agro for them. I had 3x the points of everyone despite us all dying.
You can't make that job harder until the teams are balanced, and you can't do that without proper matchmaking.
This is true. You can't accurately balance something until people are playing with people of their skill level.
-
I like going against her. I switch my playstyle to be much more steath based.
-
@Yords said:
That could easily be abused to the advantage of survivors. If they could just give each other hook states they would likely end up making it so that you 12 hook everyone or hook them all equally. It also still doesn't solve tunneling because the killer would just hook that survivor again and again, sure they might still end up escaping if they are lucky, but it would still be very boring.
I think the you have to twelve hook them or hook them equally is what he was going for.
-
Idk. I just feel like that best for addressing someone

The entire purpose of the flashlight is to blind the killer for a save isn't it?
Yes because there's no real purpose for it other than that. Imagine if there was actually a map that was dark enough you had to use a flashlight.

I mean...tunneling and camping already HAS a counter......D strike. Yet every killer complains about it even when survivors do use it the intended way....But I don't think people are ready for that type of discussion yet.
People still complaining about DS? The most recent complaint about it I had seen was sluzzy complaining about it being nerfed.

@NekoTorvic said:
Survivor gameplay should be generally harder, but killer gameplay should not be made easier in any way.
We already have killers who can wreck teams if they're player is skilled enough, because they provide the players with the tools they need to express their skill. Make most killers like that.
Agreed. Each side should be equally challenging.
-
@Clueless said:
(For reference currently each hook stages last 60 seconds)
What about making the base time to die on hook faster say ~40 seconds but when the Killer is near it ramps up to say ~80 seconds.
While the Killer is a chase the hook speed ramps back down to 40 seconds at the same pace as it ramped up.
This is dual purpose, if the Killer camps they are punished and it rewards the Killers for playing aggressive with a better than default timer.
With a short base time if the Killer leaves, it pressures the Survivors more to get off gens and go save the person instead of "I'll finish this gen then save them".
Thoughts?
This is an interesting way of looking at that.

🤔Interesting

Last night I was playing a game as a survivor and I popped 2 generators with this one other male surv. Right before he started both generators he stood aside the generator and a yellowish/orange circular glow that went was visable into the sky appeared next to the generator. I been playing dbd for 4 months now and never came across this? I'm not sure which surv character he was playing, but has anyone ever came across this?
It was a map marker.

Rework the gens, replacing m1 holding with part fetching that fuel potential interactions and help solve the mobility problem by making the survivors come to the killer.
I'm not trying to be snarky but how would that discourage camping.

@Tizzle said:
Pause the hook timer the same way emblems get a penalty if the Killer remains around the hook for a certain amount of time.
Please, don't be the idiot that brings up how it didn't work because Survivors abused it.
When this was tested before it was WITHOUT the stipulation of the timer not pausing when a Survivor was in a certain radius of the hook.
yeah but that's why that doesn't work. You have those I-love-you squads that swarm the hook.

Difficulty for either side varies. If it’s Clown with no add ons against four DS Unbreakable Soul Guards, then killer is hard and survivor is easy. If it’s MDR-Amulet Spirit against four random solo que teammates, then killer is easy and survivor is hard.

I'm not in entire agreement with this post however I do agree with the fact survivors should work together more.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/249605/how-would-you-solve-camping-and-tunneling
I mean changing the game so that killers can't effectively camp is something that's easy enough to do, I think even the people I've argued with about the issue would concede that it could easily be done but the sticking point is that way to many killers rely on it so they don't want it changed.
I even started asking if they would give up camping if it meant other things they disliked would be fixed(keys was a big issue for killers so I started their) but I think the general view held by killer mains is that nothing would be worth loosing the ability to camp.
I could be wrong though. if there are killer mains who do have something they would like to have changed in the game that they would be willing to loose camping to get, feel free to correct me.
I am a killer main who purposely avoids camping and tunneling even when its the best move.

Thats a really dumb advice. If you would quit every game where you dont love every aspect you could quit gaming.
Is it not allowed to want to improve a game you like without getting such a response?
You should better visit the threads where firstposter are whining with an entire paragraph about this game and spread your wisdom there. Only a honest advice.

No. Screw these stupid 'MaKe ThE kIlLeR lOsE bLoOdPoInTs!' ideas. It's petty BS.
How about we make Survivors lose BP if they work on gens too fast? Hit too many skillchecks and you lose BP!
What's that? Survivors doing gens is doing their objective? SO IS THE KILLER TRYING TO <re-bloody-dacted> KILL YOU!
Survivors need to stop asking for petty trash just because they can't take a loss.
Ok take a deep breath. Just tone it down a little bit.
-
@Seraphor said:
It's not something you can 'solve'. Only thing you can do is make other strategies more appealing.
That means more perks like Devour Hope and BBQ.
Devour makes you deadlier. BBQ gives you info and BP. What we need is a slowdown perk.
Something like:
When hooking a survivor, all Generators not being repaired automatically regress at 100/150/200% of normal regression rate for the next 60 seconds. All generator regression is paused when you are within 32 meters of a hooked survivor.So a limited form of Ruin, that is only active after you leave a hook. It could pair well with something like Thrilling Tremors that gets survivors off the gens to start with, or shows you which ones to pressure after you've hooked. That would effectively prevent camping, as it's basically Ruin but made obvious that the way you make it work requires you to not camp.
As for anti-tunnel:
When a survivor is rescued from the hook, they are cursed for the next 45/60/75 seconds. When repairing a generator, any good skill checks result in 5% regression and any great skill checks result in 1% regression. Only one survivor can be cursed at any time.This would mean that you want your recently unhooked survivors working on gens instead of the other survivors. You leave the unhooked alone, so you can pressure the others off gens, and the cursed survivor will be less effective at repairing.
That's what I've been saying.
