  • That sounds awful yeah, this is the equivalent of getting hooked first and then DC or DC if Huntress has an Iridescent Head.

What Rank are you right now? DCing is not right and players need to take the loss with diginity but if you're low ranks you got people scared and if you're high ranks you either have Killers who have no confidence in themselves or dignity which is worse. Either way it's stupid, if this was me I would keep going to get at least 1 kill, I play for fun and to torture and the Gens going by fast doesn't get in my way unless I overestimate the SWF team.

  • I have a 4k tv and play ps4 it just makes the picture clearer but doesn't help with distance.

That Strategy falls apart when Survivors are destroying portals.

We'll see, if they're destroying portals they're not doing Gens. If they are anywhere near the Basement when there are 3 Gens the game ends there.

Also it would be better if it was you (the killer) that the radius takes affect from making it always usefull since you might be chasing someone else.

Yeah that's right, what if instead of vaults being blocked around the Gen, all vaults within YOUR radius are blocked when a Gen goes off?

  • Cruel Confinement on paper sounds good but I feel in practice it will be very situational.

Usage Right Now---Tinkerer will let you know where your target is and hopefully you can make enough distance into that area to take full advantage IF there are any vaults. If there are no vaults at that Gen it doesn't work and if you can't get into the area deep enough and fast enough then you can't capitalize on it. If you're not around when a Gen goes off then you get no use from it and that is a wasted perk slot.

My Improvements Before PTB---This idea is taken from Bitter Murmur, after the final Gen is completed ALL Vault locations/windows are blocked for 45 seconds.

My improvement is the same thing Bitter Murmur has, it has it's uses with each Gen giving an effect but when the final Gen is done it gives a more powerful effect you can capitalize on no matter what. Right now this perk before the PTB only has a use if you're in the area making it situational and therefore high risk of being useless on large and medium maps. The improvement makes it more useful at the end of the game rather than beginning.

The way I view it is that its less like wraiths burst of speed after appearing, and more like an 8m Nurse blink that can't go through objects and ends with an attack + the fatigue-ish stun. This will make timing it essential, and while it won't be very useful as an initiating attack or in most loops, it will excel in open ground and as a downing strike. The larger attack cone will make it harder to dodge, but not impossible, and it due to its stun it'll have a large risk/reward feel. The devs have mentioned that its difficult to use, and I predict that in the PTB people will ask for the slowdown during the charge up to be either reduced or removed to make it more viable in most situations. However, I'm also betting there will be add-on's for the Demogorgon that either reduce the charge/stun time or increase movement speed while charging it and they will be some of the more favored add-on's by killer players. We'll just have to see how it works in the PTB, and what adjustments or changes the devs will have to make for the live release. The Demogorgon has the potential for decent map pressure, which already puts him above the average m1 killer, but that pounce attack will either make or break it when it comes to viability in mid-high ranks.

Fingers X'd that it'll be high rank viable... I'm getting tired of facing the same 3 killers at rank 5+ all the time, and it would be great for the games competitive ranks to have more killer diversity.

I forgot about the Nurse, I never play her or watch any videos with her. I was thinking it would be more for getting the down than the first hit, kind of like Clown throwing the bottle after they get hit so he can catch up.

If the portals and the lunge are done right I have a feeling it will be a viable Killer, the portals alone are getting me excited, so much potential with the Killer Instinct from them and the Oblivious effect. The strategies with those things are many, I think Demo will be most powerful in small areas near the end of the match when the Survivors have fewer places to go to do Gens.

  • The Debvs have said it is not something they are looking into right now with no other explanation or reasoning or even if it will be considered later so it might never happen :(

This sucks for people who want to transfer over and need to start all over again and go bankrupt and begin the awful grind that the Bloodweb changes do not help with as those start at 40 after the teachables are unlocked.

  • @xnes_galax said:

Tbh it can be really useful in all these instance when the survivor is going straight to a pallet. Yes, he can easly avoid you, but if you judge the distance well you can just block the pallet or window.

Also, im not sure if you know that, but the "pounce" is not his lunge, but a secondary ability like pig's abush (just to clarify, i am not comparing the abilities, i am saying that both of them are secondary powers).

We still need to see how it will actually works on the PTB

The dude, Janek, probably spelled his name wrong :( did say ''pounce'' but it is not a pounce as that is a long distance grab while a lunge is a straight forward leap and since the power hits and not grab I think ''lunge'' is more appropriate.

being survivor is more and more difficult with every new change they do. They give killers perks/addons/habilities to kill survs easily or avoid survs to do gens. They give survs perks to do anything but their objective: do gens and open doors

I have 0 problem with most of the Killers, I'm on PS4 so Nurse isn't a problem, I'm not afraid or intimidated by any Killer so if we finally get a Killer that scares me and makes the game actually hard I'm happy. Being a Survivor is a lot easier than being Killer, unless you just get ######### luck and camped, tunneled and can't find totems, no one saves you, I die more times by ######### team mates than good Killers.

  • A lot of you guys don't seem to understand that every game with the Demo is a 3 Gen strat game.

Lets say 3 portals are his max--he places 1 hole at each Gen at the end and when someone is nearby he can see them with Killer Instinct. All he needs to do is go to a Gen close by and teleport, smack it and chase you down. If he doesn't get the down he leaves and waits until another hole is triggered, as long he stays near a gen he has the 3 Gen strat no matter how far the Gens are spread apart. If he has Surveillance and Killer Instinct doesn't trigger you're still screwed.

If he has a cooldown this limits Demo's power greatly but there should be add-ons and even with add-ons every game will be a 3 Gen game.

  • I love number 1---it gives the traps more lethality but balances it out with more time and because it has more time this can be used during the End game because it is longer than 2 minutes.

I don't understand number 3---I think the wording is confusing me, no boxes but there are keys for the trapped person to find but how do they get those keys out of other people? The details are there but they are confusing.

I am too, although i am slightly disappointed in how simple the power is...

Me too <3 I am still sad we didn't get the Upside-down, that ability is my all time fav ability in all of fiction besides necromancy. Crossing one dimension to catch them and trap them in another, just epic.

  • PTB possibly next Tuesday and they get 2 weeks of taking in feedback from testing and applying changes and tweaks based on that feedback. It's a long wait but depending on how things go it can be a good thing, usually in about 2 days they have all the feedback they need as we are relentless in complaining so most of that time is tweaking. Who knows, maybe if everything is perfect and the complaints are tiny we can get the full release early; never know.

  • Everyone is so excited for the perks while I am over here seeing the massive potential in Demo's power lol if the conditions are right and those conditions are small I am betting it will be upper mid tier. I am ecstatic and very excited to take full advantage of The Demogorgon.

  • Well we haven't had the PTB yet so we don't even know what kind of noises it makes so maybe it does but we don't know yet. Maybe during the super lunge it roars which would bad ass. I'm thinking that while you're teleporting you hear some faint noises or something we have like the Spirit.

Also as a side note they can't actually make lights flicker because the lights already flicker when a Gen is not completed. This would be cool though for flashlights if they just randomly started clicking and flickering on and off ;)

  • *OG Freddy laughs in exile

  • I was really hoping the change would benefit new players but it doesn't, it benefits players who already have their P3 or got to 50 and don't want to Prestige, basically this change only helps players who are already deep into the grind.

I don't like this change because if I want to switch to the PC I still have to grind every character to 40 for their teachables before stopping and settling on the Killers I want to play but at that point I have already spent a ridiculous amount of time AND MONEY on a boring ass grind that I did not enjoy because I'd rather play Freddy than Trapper or Clown over Hag etc.

New players do not benefit from this but veterans do

  • Thinking out of the box, lets say a new horror icon was getting a movie and that studio wanted to generate LOTS of hype. They could get in contact with BHVR and make a deal, they could have a licensed chapter of their Killer and Survivor plus a map and that would be advertising, one BIG advertisement for that movie in a game. They could release the chapter before the movie to increase ticket sales when the movie comes out and this is a win/win for BHVR because if it releases before the movie then they're safe. If the movie flops then so what they already made their score in cash from all the suckers who thought it was going to be good and if the movie is good then everyone who didn't buy the chapter will buy it then.

BHVR can start focusing on current gen Killers and licenses, target small or big budget films and offer them this advertisement and if they're small then they won't be paying a whole lot because the film makers can't demand a ridiculous amount because they don't have the credibility. A lot of plays can be done properly after the chapter, a lot of money from the right places, cash cow.

New horror tv series? BHVR gets the exclusive, see a sneak peak of the show's characters because you can play them. ''There's quotes on these perks, when do they say that in the show, does my character die? Will the identity of the killer be revealed with the DLC?'' All of this is what the customer is thinking before the show comes out and while they play the DLC, advertisements.

  • The Demogorgon would all be fresh from the artists, one possible cosmetic would be a stretch, they could add in the burned Demogorgon from season 1 in the last episode when it catches on fire in the trap. Another stretch would be bullet holes because it got shot to hell in season 1 too. These would be battle damage cosmetics and nothing fancy but they still sound cool and I would def run the burned one.

  • Pretty sure they thought you were attractive but now they're rethinking that.

You have a 6th sense when it comes to engineering

You see the Auras of Generators that are 85/80/75% completed for 4 seconds.

VERSION 2---When a Generator reaches 75% repaired it is revealed in Red, when a Survivor stops working on that Gen it will turn Yellow for 3/4/5 seconds, 5 being Tier 3.

I wasn't sure about the tiers for this perk, maybe you would want it when it was just about done so you'd know when AdrenaWin was about to proc but I felt this perk would be more useful for Solo players who have 1 Gen left and no one is working on any. This way when a Gen is highlighted at 75% you know that Gen is almost done and if it doesn't go off because everyone is going down you know where that Gen is and you'll go for that one instead of a random that's at 0.

If you think the tiers should be opposite I'll change it but sometimes in these situations it won't get to 85% and you'll get no use from this perk at Tier 3. Yes this is the Survivor version of Tinkerer.

I just realized I had recently made a perk that we're getting soon lol Better Together is basically this but probably better.

  • I love all the new perks, the Survivor ones are very positive and good for new players. We have anti camping, anti tunnel, two different healing perks, delicious.

I'll be running Inner Strength or Second Wind because I don't like relying on others but also know that healing wastes time and these perks solve that problem.

WGLF, BT, either 2nd Wind or IS, and Dead Hard will probably be my newest fav build.

Fixated, Sprint Burst, Diversion, and Iron Will might be a good sneak build we'll be seeing. Walk everywhere and then when chased sprint away and then break off the chase and throw a pebble to make him think you went in a direction, if you're injured they can't hear you.

  • Nice, I got the same thing happen to me when I made a thread about totems. I was saying one way to help totems is to make Survivors get Exposed when they break a Hex totem, then we got Haunted Grounds with Spirit.

  • I'll laugh lol those moments are hilarious.

  • So Inner Strength, start of the match break a totem, work on a Gen and get hit but escape. You hide in a locker for 8 seconds and BAM, healed up and it took half the time your Med-kit or SC did.

Second Wind, why waste time on healing when you can be doing Gens? While you work on the Gen you get healed.

These perks are all about not wasting time doing stupid ######### and getting the Gens done. These are anti anti-heal perks, Sloppy Butcher? Who the ######### cares, Thana? Who the ######### cares, Coulro? ######### that I'm getting in a locker for 8 seconds.

I think you get the Killer Instinct if you are charging your lunge & someone is near a portal?

That's what it seemed like, to me.

Yeah his sentence looked like it was going in several directions, he did say hold the power button to connect to the Upside-down but didn't say if it was the lunge or portal. Then he said anyone near the portal activates Killer Instinct, I think we'll need to test it for confirmation on that one. He starts talking about that at 18:09

  • @Locker_Monster said:

Hell. Put a portal hidden behind a wall, near an obvious portal guarding a Haunted totem/Gen/Hook.

They work on the obvious 'guard portal' and you pop in with the more hidden portal and sneak up on them, everyone expecting you to use the portal they are dismantling (if you can use it while they are removing it) or assuming you are running over & that they have more time.

Exactly! These portals have a strength that Hag doesn't, it can put portals anywhere(hopefully) and can manually teleport to them without them needing to be triggered or have a time limit like Hag does.

Also, when a Survivor is near a portal you get Killer Instinct and can see people near your portals. At least that's what they said in the video, I don't know if you need to stand on the portal to get that or not, hopefully it just happens when someone walks by.

  • Run Surveillance, once they know you have Surveillance they will destroy your portal first, giving you a notification lol and then you can go over there and attack them or kick Gen again and place another portal.

Put the portal near the Exit switch, no choice but to destroy it, if you have Blood Warden and they don't destroy it they're going to have a bad time.

Put the portal next to the hook, it doesn't matter if they destroy it or not.

Put your portal next to Haunted Grounds, would love to see what Survivors will do in this situation if they see a portal next to a Hex totem. Will they assume it's Haunted, will they just ignore it, or will they screw themselves over by either destroying the portal or destroying the totem?

As the Demogorgon we'll have many ways to force Survivors to destroy our portals.

  • There was a long thread about awesome changes to the game and this was one of them so YES, this should be a thing. @Peanits Has the team seen this yet?

  • @LaughingFox said:

@HatCreature Yeah, I agree with TAG. It says in the update and the live stream that the survivors are affected by Oblivious when interacting with the portals, I seriously doubt that is the same as Undetected, because Oblivious only affects one survivor at a time, so it would take all four survivors being Oblivious to get Undetected, it wouldn't make sense for one survivor being Oblivious to the killer for him to no longer have a terror radius or red stain for all survivors.

I hope you and TAG are right, Typevader too because that sounds awesome.

  • So they have the Upside-down represented as a soundless gray void, they could have used that for the upside-down but sadly they did not want to create the ULTIMATE dimensional Killer possible because maybe they were afraid.

I think they were afraid of baby players who didn't want a seperate map like they had with the OG Freddy, these people ruined this aspect of the Demogorgon. This not a witch hunt, this is basically them not wanting to scare people into another Freddy which is sad, truly. So because of that we will never get something like this probably.

This ability would be MASSIVE, hooking someone in another dimension yo, get there by a gate that doesn't close. They could have done Gens in either map, up the pressure that they had to go back to the Entity's realm to leave through the Exit. But this probably won't ever happen because a large chunk of the community is scared of another Freddy, which is sad, truly.

But other than that I am happy with what we got, the portals have some abilities by themselves which is cool, no TR while working on them etc. Placing them near Gens, in the Basement, near hooks, NEAR THE EXIT!!! Put that portal right in front of the Exit switch <3

The Designer notes specifies regarding Undetectable: "When the new chapter releases, players will have an opportunity to experience this status effect for the first time with the new Killer."

I am sad that the two perks does not happen until level 40 but then again those BW levels are larger than the lower ones so that makes sense.

Also thanks for posting that, I didn't know they wrote that thread :)

2 auto-heal perks, 1 of which completely trumps the killer in combination with ds. Yeah, balanced.

You need to be in the locker for 8 seconds to get the heal, if you have DS and you jump into a locker it's either because you're being chased or being smart. If you're being chased then the Killer knows you have DS and will either take it or leave you there. I take the DS because it's the right thing to do, in this situation you as the Survivor will not get the heal because you weren't in there for 8 seconds.

If the Killer leaves you there then you get the heal and he's already gone looking for another Survivor, you're healed and have DS for a certain time and if he finds you again that time might be up and if it's not then well #########. Either way he still downs someone and it's not OP because it forces the Killer to either let you get the DS or let you get the heal, DS is better to take in this case.

The totem healing one is the Devs solution for cry babies complaining about NOED, just do totems and get healed. Just do totems and activate Haunted Grounds, just do totems and get slowed by Thrill of The Hunt or revealed by it. This perk is strong against totem builds but it's just one heal, if all 4 Survivors run this perk then they're slowing themselves down looking for totems instead of doing Gens, that is map pressure that the Survivors give themselves.

  • No no, it can't crawl on all fours.

Survivors become Oblivious and can't hear your TR when they work on your Portal and try to destroy it. So here is where they talk about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjoZSP8_Ce4

just skip to 18 minutes and they'll talk about the portals and then at 19 they talk about Oblivious.

  • His super lunge will be good around those long straight loops with the pallet in the middle on corn maps, that un-mind gameable loop where you have to break the pallet. You can charge it up near the edge of the loop and then let go as they make their way to the pallet in the middle. He might be one of the few Killers who can use this pallet against Survivors.

We can also use the portals as traps since they take away your TR, just place them near Gens and start walking over there if they work on it. Place it near the hook and do the same, I'm putting it in the Basement ;)

  • HEADS UP---All Demogorgon players should use MYC during the PTB as Babysitter shows you exactly where your next target is going ;)

Gen Protector can replace Monitor with Corrupt Intervention on stealth Killers, this way you force Survivors to work on Gens closer to you and block the Gens not being worked on early. I'm assuming Surge doesn't explode Gens being worked on so when you go to the Gen not being blocked by Thrilling you can use Surge when you take that person down.

Freddy---Tinkerer, Surge, Cruel Confinement, Devour Hope using Dream Pallets---you can finish that Gen but you'll be ######### and be forced to use a dream pallet while Exposed <3

Freddy--Iron Grasp, Agitation, Surge, and STBFL---basically if the Gen is above the Basement it will never get finished.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/644918#Comment_644918

Just once. It would be silly if it could go off multiple times, you could basically keep someone on the hook forever.

This would be the ultimate Survivor troll if they could keep activating it lol

''Just get me off the hook, why am I still alive'' and the Killer is thinking the same thing ''he's been on that hook a while, why hasn't anyone saved him...why isn't he dead yet''?

  • Well I was wrong about the Demo JUST having a teleport ability so I'm happy.

I like that if someone is working on your portal they can't hear you coming so that gives you a stealth aspect, you can place portals down near gens and use them as traps, lure people to work on them so they're vulnerable ;)

The lunge might help with safe pallets, like the ones on the corn maps, the really long straight loops, charge your lunge at the end of the loop and let go as they are going for the pallet in the middle. You know the loop, the one where you HAVE to break the pallet, this could work there.

Also, my sweet children <3 WE HAVE ANOTHER BASEMENT KILLER!!! Beware, bitches, beware.

  • This is such a healthy perk for the game, finally scrubs don't have to complain about NOED. Also good for Haunted Grounds and Iron Maiden, we can also use this with Thrill of The Hunt to make it take longer, not very long but they're still wasting time.

So it either makes Dead Hard more viable or Makes Sprint Burst activate after the killers 1st hit.

Scenario: pig sneaks up gets a hit. I get my burst from the hit. 3s exhaustion wears off SB activates. If I wasn't exhausted prior to being hit while working on the generator is that correct @Peanits ?

That sounds on the mark from the description but in reality this is no different than a normal chase as you still have 2 bursts of speed, 1 from SB and 1 from getting hit before SB so in a way nothing changes except the order in when it happens.

  • @Peanits said:

If you're not exhausted, you'll still get the three seconds of exhaustion. It can be handy on stealth killers when you're facing people with Sprint Burst. With other exhaustion perks, they'll still need to stop sprinting for at least three seconds before they can use their perk in that chase as well.

Hmm, so you get Exhausted and to get rid of Exhaustion you need to walk for 3 seconds. If you're a stealth Killer this would work as you can get close and get that first hit and in a chase you wouldn't have as much time to stop moving for 3 seconds to get your ability back. Very interesting, yeah this sounds weaker than what I was thinking but it is also fair and still useable against Dead Hard, Lithe, and Balanced.

  • My goodness, I am very impressed with these perks, these are very healthy perks <3

All the perks are helping both sides in areas they really need help with, we got anti-tunnel, anti-camping, anti-Gens, anti-vaulting, healing etc. I am so excited <3 I felt really good seeing those perks, this chapter might be the best chapter perk wise as all of them are healthy and non-toxic.

I can't wait to dive on in and best of all, since the Survivor perks are beginner friendly the new players will be having a good time and not feel as bad when pitted against newer Killers who don't know how to play the game.

  • @Fab said:

I do believe the perk causes the exhausted status effect even if you're not exhausted. Then it persists after you leave the generator for 3 seconds.

In the video it was not described as that but I do hope this is the case, it sounds like a really good perk in the beginning of the game tbh.

Yeah it is but that's why I mentioned bringing back the sacks from the Hallowed Blight event to bring plant feeling without having the vines.

  • When I saw this image it never occurred to me that it could be a 3rd person view from the Killer itself, hot damn. I assumed it was more of just a camera screen shot to get a good look at it for everyone.

1 … 15 16 17 18 19 … 52
