So in a spoiler-free way, what does the demogorgon do? I'm wondering what possible gameplay mechanics it will have. I've never watched the show but I guess I'm going to start now. haha
It can tear through dimensions and smell blood from one dimension in the other, so hopefully this Demogorgon will have it's own map kind of like when the horn blares in Silent Hill and then drag a Survivor into it.
-
Someone said they're having a video or stream on Thursday that will give more information on the chapter, we'll hopefully get a full presentation then like we did when Plague was announced.
-
I'm waiting until we get a good look at the Survivor perks before I get the bundle, don't want to waste my money on crap. I'll probably get Nancy though anyway, she's really cute.
-
Hmm this particular image of Nancy is kind of eh, she looks more accurate in the trailer.

Buffy and The Master
Map: The Hell Mouth
We get to go into the Library while it has a giant hole in the middle, maybe we get to see the actual demon pop out and scream at Survivors every now and then <3

No...
My point is that the perk should tell you before that. If not this serves no purpose in a team scenario.
Also, since the hatch spawn even if you did no gens qhy would I work on gen after everyone's dead ?
Well the scenario this is for is when you're solo, there's 3 maybe 4 people left and your team is #########. You have 1 Gen left and someone is on a hook and you're healing, why hasn't the last Gen popped? All of a sudden you see the Killer and get hooked and see the 4th Survivor is on a Gen, awesome. You get unhooked but...where was that Claud working a Gen? Why hasn't it popped yet? You don't know so you find a Gen that's a t 0 and start working on it. You get to halfway and then your team starts dropping like flies and then in the end you get the hatch because you didn't know where that last Gen was.
If you had this perk, maybe she was at 75% and then it highlighted and you would finish it if she got off. Sure this would also work at 50% but that seems too powerful, Prove Thyself promotes Survivors working together but you need another perk to find where they are. This would be a stronger version of that if it was 50%, that's scary and I would like Tinkerer to go down some if that were the case.

sooo what you are saying is that devs shouldn't patch out an exploit that allows you to use 2 exhaustion perks at once?
We've all heard Devs turn around and say ''it's a feature''.

That's what I'm saying.
Idk if it's just weirdly written but the way I read your perk it doesn't trigger before 75%...
Exactly, so at 75% the Gen is revealed as Red so you know it'll get done soon.
-
Freddy can solve this problem, IF you have the perks.
Thanatophobia, Knockout, Sloppy Butcher, and either Ruin or Devour Use the Jumprope add-ons or the Swing chains.
Slug 1 Survivor at all times and Survivors will split between finding their friend, healing, and the totem. Bonus points for hooking in the Basement with Devour and teleporting away.
-
@TheUnendingNightmare said:
Not bad but I feel you think this would be OP but you should reduce a bit the amount and start at 40%-50%.
As a killer main I wouldn't be mad about a perk like that.
But that's only halfway, what would be the advantage? This would actually get Survivors working Gens together, ''oh that Gen is 50% I should get over there and team up''. If it's at 75% it's almost done and more for finishing the Gen when no one else is, that way you know to get over there in case it got kicked. Your version is like a reverse Discordance which sounds scary lol
-
@screamdreamsx and @TheUnendingNightmare I made a 2nd version of the perk.
-
I'm sure the bundle will have 1 Survivor and the Killer, the other Survivor will probably come too but by them-self. Whenever a Chapter comes they give us the option to buy each one solo if we don't want both, I'm assuming they're doing that with this.
I learned my lesson from the Plague chapter when I bought the bundle, I am not buying the Survivors unless I know their perks are good, I was very dissatisfied with Jane; unless they don't take away the Sprint Burst combo then it wasn't a waste.
-
Guys, please don't nerf him, Survivors just need practice!!!
-
Algophobia---While a Survivor is injured, every 15/20/25 seconds they will Scream and reveal their Location for 4 seconds.
Algophobia is the fear of pain, and since it's 15 seconds and I think it takes Self-Care 16 seconds to heal lol you'll see them just before they heal up. This would be good for Legion and Plague ;) maybe they'll start cleansing now.
-
I love indoor maps, I am so excited.
I wonder if they went ahead of time and made sure they have more than 1 variation of this map because they're back and doing that for all licensed maps so maybe they just went ahead and was like ''yo can we make more than 1 type?'' That would be cool.
-
Possibly 6 Survivor perks in 1 Chapter, maybe we'll get 2 that's actually useful?
I'm excited too <3 I watched season 1 and I need to watch the other 2, I am excited for the map that looks indoors and I hope the ability is dimension hopping for real and not something like blood tracking only or something simple like Spirit. I want real dimension hopping yo.
-
Sadbacon made a thingy about this last month, it could take Survivors into the Upside-down and hook them there, plant larvas in people and when they get smacked they teleport there. It could create up to 3 Gates and anyone could use them.
I really hope we get something like that because you know me, Basement party bitches.
-
It wouldn't be a perk it would be a base power, also Ashley's perk idea is bad ass, that should replace Bloodhound tbh.
-
I love indoor maps, I am so excited, maybe this map will have Gates around it instead of doors and everyone can travel though them? That would be cool.

Yeah throwing the saw would have a short range and a low arc since the chainsaw is heavy, but the hit box would be huge and that's to compensate for the short range.
-
Buff Iron Maiden, screw everybody it needs a buff I don't care about your opinions on a ######### perk that benefits 2 Killers when everyone should be able to use it effectively.
Make it show Auras and increase the Exposed timer, the 15 seconds is ######### and cannot be capitalized on. The Location thing is cool and makes sense because they got ''injured'' but it isn't good enough to be a strong perk and don't say not all perks need to be strong well perks shouldn't be made to be weak on everyone but 2 Killers.
Or change the perk completely, I hate when we get perks named to be something and then not have the appropriate effect. ######### when you step into an Iron Maiden you get stabbed with Spikes yo, make it Break a Survivor for 15 seconds and then they can heal themselves, keep the Location and that's fine too. At least this way you have a perk named after something dangerous and actually have an effect that's dangerous.
-
It sounds too powerful, those pallets are the ONLY thing Survivors have to defend themselves against him and if they cen't stop him mid chase then nothing can and it becomes a losing battle.
I made another post a while ago that didn't enough traction for some reason but I was thinking Billy or maybe Leather should get an add-on for their Ultra that lets them...throw the saw.
They could charge up a twirl and then throw the saw forward, if they miss they'll have to pick it up, if they get a hit then it comes back auto when you pick them up.
-
1---You did not say what the Blackout effect was below lol
2---If the Honing Stone takes away the Great skill check then Survivors know it's the Honing Stone and they will go down if they get out so they just won't do the Skill Checks and wait to get saved. Unless you took out the instadown aspect, not sure why you' do that though.
This is really cool, I would love to see this as it makes Trapper more powerful but of course not too powerful as that's not possible with this type of Killer.
He has more traps and every 30 seconds he gets a new one in his bag so he doesn't have to waste a massive amount of time to go and get a trap across the map. This means he can place more traps down more frequently.
The Skill check thing is cool with the traps, Survivors have to work to get themselves out instead of it being a percentage chance which helps and hinders both parties. Realistically you are looking for the strength to pry open the jaws of the trap and pull out your foot, you're not just tugging at it repeatedly until you manage it; that hurts.
-
As I don't have as much time to play Killer as I would like I would love this, someone mentioned a Practice Mode and Peanits, maybe it was him, said he'd mention it to the team as it was cool.
I can't practice as Killer because of my job so I can't get better and playing in a practice or offline mode would at least allow me to play Killer even if the bots are ######### lol

Nope, which is why those things generally hurt your emblem score. The game counts each hit as ending a chase. In a normal scenario, a chase where you hit the survivor twice to down them is winning 2 chases. If you instadown them however, you only won 1 chase. Different killers abilities definitely hinder the chaser emblem, this is an example of which.
This is also the reason why Legion gets an Iridescent Chaser because he gets so many hits.
Plague gets the worst Chaser, if Survivors actually cleansed more often then maybe not but since no one cleanses her chases are really short with 1 hit.

Well to answer the question, it's easier to make a perk fix than to go about major core changes in the game. Also if they did make those core changes we wouldn't have certain cool perks we can choose to use. It's a bit of a catch 22 but I do feel they shouldn't rely on perks to fix major problems in the game, it gets unhealthy in the long run.

Head on and SB are very overrated. They're ok but realistically head on is not so useful nor is SB but this is like unlimited DS right here i was gonna say its fine and should stay but imagine now if DS is also in the mix i just thought of that while typing this. this should be patched. I Now believe head on is an exhaustion perk because of this synergy. Cant wait to see PoS ulyssus abuse this
A lot of people don't know why HO has Exhaustion but you're right, if it didn't have the Exhaust you could spam it. Also you can use HO and DS together right now without SB, if you get tunneled off the hook and make your way into a locker, if you can actually use HO and then SB out of there then that's a save. The Killer can catch up to you and then BAM smack you down and you can use your DS and get away again well that's incredibly ######### for the Killer but also a good play. But if you can effectively get caught twice after getting off the hook those crutch perks won't save you for much longer since you go down easy and rely on perks to save you.
This is also taking into account you not using SB on your way to the locker after getting unhooked with the Killer on your ass.
-
@Venoxxie said:
I mean, there's no reason for it to be an exhaustion perk (unless Behaviour sees it as you're using all your energy to stun the killer).
You don't want the devs to fix it.. and who knows if they'll even see this... But posting it on the forums brings it to their attention and they don't want people abusing perks like this, I'm sure.
The Devs already know

Can you imagine a Demogorgon without any teleport power running at 115% speed after the survivors around the looping spots?
Yes, and it looks sexy.
-
Well Behavior is known to make mobile games so if it's not DBD it will be a mobile Stranger Things game. Or maybe we'll get skins, I think it would be absolutely terrifying if we got a Demogorgon skin on Spirit, can imagine the Demogorgon with it's maws wide open as it appears directly behind you and rips you off the Gen?
-
This just occurred to me, recently we've been seeing a LOT of licensed cosmetics, Ash was the first who came with 2 separate outfits then Pig and Tapp got 2 outfits each, then Ghostface got a bunch.
Following this trend, if it is Stranger Things we would expect a whole bunch of cosmetics for the characters BUT if it is the Demogorgon...######### are we going to get as a cosmetic?

32m by default. To put that into perspective, it's about two shacks away. Although you'll also need to see at least 20% of his body, so if he's carefully leaning around a corner, you may not be able to reveal him.
So how much does it decrease to when we use the add-on to decrease that range? 32m seems a bit much, that's a distance you aren't being chased from and vastly switches the power role to the Survivors when it comes to Ghostface. I really think the radius should be 24m, that way if you can break him he is actually a threat to you instead of just being some guy in a bush very far away.
-
I think it's a bug...I HOPE it's a bug.
-
What Rank are you? This doesn't matter as much, sometimes we just have bad days and only get ######### Killers who can't accept an honest outplay. I respect Survivors who get away and weren't ######### about it but not everyone does.

Furthermore to your comments, that sometimes can be my issue with “equip blah blah perk to counter blah blah”, that most perks are based around the remote event that you MIGHT encounter a particular behaviour.
Which only enforces that a lot of M1 killers don’t have what they need at base (or even with brown, yellow add-ons) to handle some high level play because you can find yourself perkless (for all intents and purposes) because the killer can find themselves NOT encountering the behaviour their particular loadout was meant to address, and is instead encountering behaviour they aren’t equipped to deal with in their loadout.
Whereas perkless survivor doesn’t have as large a disparity between capability and incapability, rather falling down to the individual survivors skill.
Exactly, that's what I was trying to get at but kind flew past it.
Everyone was complaining about body blockers so they gave us Mad Grit and that's the case with Overcharge and Gen tappers but those don't solve the underlining problem. They're selling us solutions through perks instead of fixing the actual problem. Granted that is the easier way to do it but actually makes more problems, you sacrifice perk slots for problems you may not encounter and then get screwed by other issues your build wasn't prepared for.
For example, Tru3Talent was using an all Exhaustion build with every perk using Exhaustion but went against a Doctor using the Exhaustion add-on for T3 Madness. Tru3 was basically screwed over but because he was a Survivor who doesn't actually need perks to play the game he got out. Killers can't get away with that #########.

It was me. I blew up the internet. Apparently according to a mate I run into it made it into a big debate on reddit and and Australian DBD group. I haven’t bothered to verify any of that though. I just want the tap gone.
Whenever SpaceCoconut on YT talks about a thread that exploded, I always think about that one.

Watch in amusement as survivors torment themselves over who rescues the obsession.
OMG 🤣 The ultimate gamble! That's brilliant, I didn't even realize because I forgot the Obsession get switched.
-
Very situational, some others have good answers here so i'll add in with this little tid bit.
If you're using Spirit Fury & Enduring be very careful not to get trapped into the mindset that you'll catch that person because you have that combo. You can still get looped, you can still lose him, you will still lose all pressure if you keep chasing that person for a very long time just because you know that if they drop a pallet on you you'll get a hit. You might never get that hit.
Be aware of your surroundings, even when you're chasing 1 Survivor try to get clues of what everyone else is doing but don't let it distract you either.
-
Forgot to say I would love a perk that increased Gen Regression speed, that would be very helpful.
-
I remember there was a HUUUGGEEE thread about this a little bit ago and thought this was a re-post.
Yes, I agree, they need to add just 1 second to stop regression, 1 second of an animation.
But do know that Gen tapping was officially given a counter with Overcharge so there is that. The true power of Overcharge comes in when you get Gen tappers but you don't always get them. Just like you don't always get body blockers and waste a perk slot on Mad Grit or don't always get people going into lockers when you get Iron Maiden because the perk is #########.
I don't think they'll address this but I still think they should, Overcharge will still be relevant but will probably not be as strong since Survivors will have to focus during that 1 second. I might be wrong though, never know until they try y'all.
-
That would be cool and help out with the grind a lot. Whenever I feel like Prestiging a Killer I want to know if their Prestige is even worth getting so I watch a video on someone getting all 3 first. I wouldn't have to do that I could cherry pick and see what each one looks like first. Then I can get the one I want the most first and then work on the others, or never.
When I Prestige a Survivor I only do it once because the shirt is all I need, when I Prestige my Killers I go all the way to 3 which hurts really bad.

Hmm..hard to say..Seems good, so long as you still get the 'Injured' stats for other Perks (Like This Is Not Happening), even before you get hit..
Good point, I did not think of that. It should be ok though, now No Mithers can't be healed so even if you don't get downed but just take the first hit you still can't be healed so to you you're already a No Mither but to the Killer they won't know until you get back up from being downed or get off the hook etc. So you can use those perks like everyone else at the beginning, kind of a slight nerf in that aspect but I have always seen No Mither as Hard Mode in this game so it doesn't seem that bad.
-
It's a cool idea but eating the pallet can be a strategy, sometimes you can get the god pallet down early if you swing through it and force the pallet down.
-
I know the idea of hiding the No Mither status until the first hit but what if...
You didn't become Broken until the first DOWN? So at the start of the match you can 2 hits and then you go down but from then on you're Broken revealing you're a No Mither.
