  • Is this a repost? I swear I commented on this exact thread.

  • All Killers have counters, sometimes the counters are too strong and Survivors can't see that or care.

Very rarely do I find a Survivor perk that I am actually worried about or love. MoM was too strong and I refused to use it, same thing with D-Strike, I didn't start using that until it got changed and felt more fair.

Adrenaline can be a Killer's worst nightmare but that's a good Survivor perk, it's fair and it's strong. I don't use it because I'd rather have something that helps me all game rather than the ending which I may never get to.

  • I would say Clown because he still has 4 shots and he has normal movement speed.

  • Dead means 0 players yo, lots of people throwing around the word dead like it's just common and means everything.

  • Gothic Susie <3 Give her a nice black ruffled skirt, stocking, combat boots, corset, and an all black mask to represent the void she's feeling inside. Her hair color could be anything really but maybe white to go with the theme or blue, it just has to match the striped stockings.

  • I agree with Ark, his stealthiest mask is the P3 which is a shame since it takes forever to get but fitting since it's free.

But anyway, the red mask is good for some maps and the silver is good for others but since the map is random I would choose the Chrome/silver because a lot of the colors in this game are blue and just dark which blend into that mask; only slightly of course.

  • My god, this is perfect. I haven't seen the show but I really want to now, this dimension ability is my favorite ability in fiction period and the way you made it is perfect for this game. You can literally carry the Survivor from one dimension into the other, that creates MASSIVE PRESSURE! The Flayed thing sounded meh at first but then you brought it home at the end, superb my man, bravo!

I want this, I want this so ######### bad, let me pay to play this :D

  • Since the forums got changed my previous answer makes me look like a Survivor main so here's my Killer list lol

Freddy---Thana, Knockout, Sloppy Butcher, and Devour Hope---Survivors love this build <3

Pig---Ruin, Nurse's, and Sloppy---4th perk can be anything

Ghostface---Corrupt Intervention, Thrilling Tremors, Knockout, and Discordance---Basically if the Survivors aren't complete pieces of ######### and actually work on Gens for the first 2 minutes I can potentially block all of the Gens in the beginning of the match very quickly. From there I use Thrilling and Knock to create pressure and use Discordance for easy Stalk.

  • This would be really cool and actually bring more depth the Collapse. The Collapse is the destruction of the map and when the Survivor should leave, if the Survivors are getting the Gens done then the corn wilting is a sign that the world is slowly...collapsing lol

I am all for this because the maps are cool and loops are the main thing right now but having something small like this would bring a lot of fun. Something I really enjoyed in old James Bond games were the things you could to the map, press a button and the floor opens up or a door closes etc. That's cool and brings more life to the map and not just there for us to run around and loop and hide, the map is alive y'all use it.

  • Beautiful read, really enjoyed it and would love to see all of these things added into the game.

Your totem idea is similar to one I made a while ago but probably better. Mine was have totems change per map lol so on the hospital map the totem could be a wheelchair or a broken TV but having things to search and there might be a totem inside is SO MUCH BETTER <3

Territorial Imperative--how big is the marker and what does it look like? I love Basement builds so this change worried me a little bit but is still an overall improvement, beautiful change. But what does the marker look like, can I hide it in plain sight at the foot of the Basement stairs?

I don't pray but I pray these changes are made, it would help the game health so much, the loops, the windows, the pallets, the perks, everything felt good to read. I want to play this game lol I want to play that game every day because it felt like everyone mattered and understood our problems.

  • I've noticed that a lot with Hag when she teleports, it always seems wonky when she tries to hit and looks like it should be hitting but it just misses, it is very odd and inconsistent.

  • They did recently change the auto-aim, I think it was in the Ghostface release. It is ridiculous, it helps some people but hurts a lot of others, it's very strange. It never works when I need it to but it always work when I don't and screws me over.

  • So my go to sneak build was

Urban Evasion, Premonition, and Stake Out

Now that I'm more experienced I would use Urban Evasion, Stake Out, Sprint Burst, and Iron Will.

Basically you can sneak around close to the Killer and get tokens for Stake Out giving you Great Skill checks which counters Ruin. If you get caught by the Killer you can sprint away, if you get hurt you obviously can't be heard and can sneak away easier when you break line of sight.

  • So a while back before Freddy got changed I had a KYF match with a new player and my buddies. I was playing Freddy and used the Black Box, next I saw they all put on Murky Reagent for Offerings. So when the Obsession started in it was the new guy and he started in the Dream World XD he was like ''IT'S SO THICK!'' Everyone was saying it's normal it's just the mist offerings, and then he's like ''THERE HE IS RUN!!'' And everyone is awake so they're like ''calm down man stop shouting. Where is he I don't see him!'' Then I just massacre the new guy with everyone wondering ######### is going on, it was glorious <3

Anyway, it might get thicker if you use Murky with Freddy, least that's what they said lol

  • I hate getting the Red Forest as Ghostface, some farm maps I can salvage but realistically meh.

I still think they need to revert their tweak to his Detection range. Someone from 32m away can break him out and people are saying the add-ons for decreasing that range either don't work or aren't strong enough. If they decreased his Detection range to 24m then those add-ons could have some strength and help Ghostface out on wide open maps.

I believe like i said having all totems lit and having a counter of totems on screen will give random enough incentive to find even one totem and since they are all lit it will create sound and make them easier to find. I know for me if i saw only 1 or 2 more totems left will make me want to help and gain all those BP from lit totems which oc is another incentive

Oh my bad, I didn't see that part. So all the totems are lit and there is a counter, ok now if that counter only applied on the Obsession then that would be cool, that way if they are solo then they can still do it themselves but have an advantage.

  • This is technically a type of NOED except it is Obsession based, instead of cleansing all totems to get rid of an insta down you're cleansing totems to save someone's life.

Now the problem with this is that not every match has SWF, what if the Obsession is a solo, he doesn't know where all the totems are and he knows he'll die if they aren't all destroyed. Without that team work he's as good as dead unless he knows where all the totem spawns are.

EDIT---I think the idea is cool though, kind of like Rancor

  • Would anyone be interested if this was the new Killer? He sounds super strong, I was planning on making a Killer just like this and I would use him for Basement builds.

  • I don't use flashlights as I need to practice with them and I don't like to be an #########.

I don't use the Brand New Part because it takes he fun out of the game and makes the match go by faster. It is incredibly boring when the Gens just go like that, I get sad when people bring in the BNP. But I won't deny that it is useful.

I have never used an insta heal because I don't have many of them, atm I am stocking up on them.

My only gripe about Survivor Ultras is that they are boring and though made with good intentions I refuse to use them because I feel they are bad for the game.

  • I understand why you don't want the timer, it can be exploited by people who are choosing to do that. I am not saying your idea is bad, I think by hooking someone else and turning off someone else's perk is a good idea, that's really cool and I like that. I just wanted to point out that this perk idea will create some really nasty power plays no one wants to come back. The Devs never imagined that we would use a moonwalk tactic with Legion or not Cleanse against Plague and everyone needs to know that some situations however unlikely can definitely happen a lot because it can. I myself don't like this particular idea and hope it is not chosen despite it being a really cool one.

When D-Strike was set to be nerfed my suggestion was change the perk to something else and give us the normal D-Strike as an item. An item can be countered by Franklin's and that's all Killers needed, a way to get around an incredibly powerful Survivor ability that in my opinion was never fair.

  • I think you mean will Vigil, ever get a rework. His other perks Wake Up and Pharmacy are pretty cool tbh, I love Wake Up and with the Collapse it has more use now than it ever did. Whenever I use Wake Up with my friends I always say ''turn your face to the sun, child'' or ''I AM A BEACON OF LIGHT!!!''

Vigil is meant to be a guardian perk, Vigil means to stand watch over others and I do think the effects themselves are barely usable tbh. Mangled is most often applied with Sloppy Butcher so Vigil can't do anything about it, Blindness is usually applied with a RBT or a Hex Totem and Vigil can't effect those since all of those are permanent. The only effect it can reliably help against is Exhaustion since no Killer perk can apply that, only add-ons and Survivor perks, so for all intents and purposes this perk helps with Exhaustion only and does not meet the requirements of its name or its intended usage and should be changed.

  • Oof, the forums are going to going to get crowded in General Discussions with the amount of Discussions that's about to spawn.

  • @Chaddad2169 Your opinion is very close minded to not see what I'm saying. A good team against Ghostface can cripple his actual stealth ability as in constantly watch him and break him out. That's bad design that the Devs did not think of, it's bad design to give the players a hand in turning off the Killer's power. It is bad design to give the Power role a huge weakness to the number role turning them into the Power role with the flip of a switch because that Killer suddenly has no ability to help them in that match anymore.

I'm not complaining that I'm bad at the game, I know I need practice, I'm complaining about the design which you failed to understand. Everyone knows this, why don't you?

  • If Peanits said it will boost the player base it's gotta be licensed, I can't see someone with that kind of confidence say that about a new original idea.

Also, welcome to the forums, I'm HatCreature I play on the PS4 and I play Survivor when I don't have time to play Killer. You want any tips on Freddy or Pig hit me up :) If you're a Survivor main you will very rarely ever see me in the Survivor forums, no thank you. Hope you have a good time Cornpoopers

  • She's really fun, she's one of the few Killers I've gotten a P3 with. I love scaring people and just popping right up on Survivors and making them explode the Gen or slice them. Phasing feels really smooth and relaxing as well, that's probably my favorite thing about her.

  • totem.jpg

Hybrid Panda found this totem, it's tucked inside this crevice of boxes at the bottom of a water tower <3 Ironworks of Misery

  • If they get rid of Shrine of Secrets we won't get our weekly DBD News from the Shrine Master, Hybrid Panda :(

  • If you guys need someone to help out in your KYF to find totems let me know, I'm usually free.

  • I love that you're playing Tapp for this, ''Detective Tapp on the case with my partner Evan. We're here to find bad totem spots, you know the kind, right next to Gen and a chest, eye candy baby''.

    Good work, exciting thread :)

  • @Aztreonam78 I have noticed that, tbh I rarely get to play on the last 3 maps that were added into the game. I still haven't played Temple of Purgation as Killer but get it loads as Survivor.

  • I think this could be a positive change for everyone involved, this says ''hey guys I'm going to murder you absolutely but you're still going to get a lot of points from this so it'll be a lose/win situation for everyone no matter what happens''. That's a positive feeling right there, like going to the dentist and getting two teeth pulled out but having the dentist pay YOU.

Also this is just a cool twist on the Bloody Party Streamers in general, normal ones give everyone points but Moris not only give you points but also kill you, a deadly twist <3 I might actually run Ebony Moris if they did this.

  • @Thaznar I've brought that up too multiple times, the only reason Survivors are able to Gen rush is because the Killers are not strong enough to cause pressure on everyone. But it also has to do with the Objective itself being too easy.

  • @Thaznar I would enjoy that personally, it feels more fun to do it that way tbh, more engaging.

Scenario---Dwight picks up a box of nuts, gears, and a socket wrench and is sprinting towards the Gen at the back of the Groaning Storehouse and as he turns a corner he gets caught in a bear trap. He can hear The Trapper on his way and knows he's going to go down even if he gets out of the trap so when he does manage to free himself he drops the box of parts and keeps running letting Jake know where he left it. Jake comes up behind both of them and takes them to the Gen just as Claudette and Meg arrive with the other parts and they finally begin to work on a Generator.

Now that's what a SWF group could look like with this, now in this scenario as of right now it would actually be catching Dwight just as the first Gen gets done, that's a huge time difference.

  • Survivors being control of the Killer's power is not a good idea, hopefully these past two Killers have made that clear. Plague rarely gets her 2nd ability unless she forces it and Ghostface is crippled by good teams, it's bad design.

  • @Thaznar So what if there was a new thing called Praise The Entity, after the Gens are done every Survivor has to find a pedastal carrying a large bell and smack it a few times to call upon the Entity to let it know they're ready to leave and open the Exits. .

Each Survivor has their own Bell like every Survivor has their own Freddy clock. So when the Gen is done Survivors need to ring their bell before they can leave, even if the Exit is open they still need to ring that bell to Praise The Entity. Or maybe the Bell can be a Lantern and instead of lighting it they can take it, something along those lines.

  • @Thaznar I loved the aesthetic of Hallowed Blight but the Lunar solved that event's problem with the lantern. Before Killers had special hooks and that event made Lanterns which was the best idea, the problem was that it wasn't fair. The Killer didn't have enough time to find the Lantern and break it because Survivors could insta save and deny the Killer enough time to get to it before it turned back to normal. If they brought something like this back I would be really happy but it had better be improved upon or it will be a failure again.

  • Arec's answer was perfect but I would like to add that we can always have Pinhead esq Killer, someone who is a lot like that character but definitely not him.

He'd have to be wearing bondage attire and have hooks as a power, have everything that really makes this character a sinister cold torturous idol but still not be Pinhead. Hillbilly is basically their version of Leatherface as in he is a deformed hillbilly with a chainsaw. I'm positive that the Hillbilly we have would be Leatherface had they been able to get those rights at launch and the Leatherface we have now would not exist. I could be wrong of course but it's hard not to think that.

  • Both yours and the other idea by Space is really good.

In my old post about totems I had an option called Curse The Defiler that gave that Survivor the Exposed status effect, and then they made Haunted Grounds soon after lol

Inflicting the Survivor with a slight Curse for breaking a totem makes sense, I have always said that a Killer would never leave their source of power unprotected and not have a consequence for it being destroyed. So cursing the Survivor with a temp debuff or bringing the totem back after a few minutes is a grand idea.

in terms of counter play: read the perk description again, especially the last point. there are literally 3 counterplays to this perk running around the map, waiting for you to hook them.

now, lets go through your scenario:

the first thing that came einto my mind was "that is very unlikely to happen", since you not only have to lose your first target, but also have been playing for over a minute without a new hook and then happen to find the one guy that just has been on the hook.

but lets assume that has happened: you can always just slug them and go for someone else or take the DS like a pro and redown them. hitting the DS still deactivates the perk (sory if that hasnt been clear, ill edit the main post). honestly, i'd say ignore that dude / slug them and search someone else. it isnt too hard to do so, especially with tracking perks (BBQ would basically counter the perk now by showing you a new target to go for). because technically speaking you kinda tunneled there: you hooked the same guy twice without hooking someone else.

the perks idea is to punish you for going for the person that has just been hooked, so i dont really see the problem there. its working just fine.

That is tunneling in the stretchiest form of stretchyness, I would literally chase someone else, lose them, randomly somehow unintentionally find the last dude I hooked and down them well after 60 seconds, not a true tunnel or even unfair in the slightest, just unlucky for both parties. And this happens to me more than i'd like with losing someone, not proud of it.

This also does not address the end game scenario with 2 Survivors who unhooked the 3rd and the Exit is open. Right now you can slug that unhooked person because you expect them to have D-Strike. Now with your idea it forces you to hit them and then hit someone else and down them, now with your change both of those Survivors would run to the open Exit after getting hit and leave because they KNOW that if they stay then their friend is doomed. Now that person who got unhooked gets away 100% because you have no counter to their extremely powerful perk in the end game. If you pick them up, they get away, if you slug them, they get away very slowly and taunt you the whole time. Right now I could slug them and try to down the other person, if they get away I at least can hope that the slugged person doesn't reach the Exit in time, I have hope and that's fair.

Arrow and NMCKE suggested a timer that doesn't go down in chase, I like that but the timer will have to be smaller and you should still be able to slug to counter it.

  • @ArrowTheGreat11 I've had that too, that happens more often than not, I would be ok with a timer when not getting chased but it would have be shorter than 60 seconds, that's way too long for this type of change. I still feel that slugging should be a valid counter though, there are many situations in the end game where slugging to prevent DS is the only option to win the match and right now D-Strike is most powerful in the end game.

  • This has no counter play, old D-Strike had an unofficial and sloppy counter that Killers had to come up with which was never reliable. Current D-Strike has counterplay and can be worked around by slugging or not going after them again.

Your version punishes the Killer for not tunneling, so if I hook you then come back to the hook as you get rescued and but chase the other guy that's not tunneling. So lets say I chase them but lose them, no idea where they went and I'm at a loss. I walk around and hear a Gen being worked on, see you fully healed and it's been well over a minute and chase you down and BAM D-Strike. That is clearly not a tunnel yet I got punished for chasing you and not someone else, that's not fair that I just happened to find you and get punished for not avoiding you.

  • Hallowed Blight and Lunar New Year had some interesting 2nd Objectives, the sacks in Blight brought out everyone's greed and led to some bad games, especially since Killers still needed certain hooks for their points. Lunar New Year tried the Lanterns which looked like a good idea but it still needed some work since it had a huge problem with being fair to both sides.

If they keep experimenting with things like this I'm confident they'll find a suitable alternate Objective for Survivors and maybe Killers. It can't just be for points though, it NEEDS to effect the match itself or else it will end up like the events and ruin the match for everyone.

  • I made a fan perk about this that no one cared about. Don't remember what it was called, something like Dragon's Loot or something.

Anyway, my perk gave the Killer the ability to corrupt a chest and if anyone touched the chest it would explode and injure the Survivor, I think. After that the Killer can loot the chest and get an add-on of various rarities, I think, been a while since I thought about that perk that went unnoticed so I probably got the perk wrong.

  • @Mookywolf That's so cute lol ''come on guys, there's a KILLER on the loose, let's do Gens!''

  • I bring in Blood Warden, Bitter Murmur, and Insidious and play as Leatherface or Clown

I stay in the Basement the entire match without moving, I don't chase, nothing. I watch everyone with their Auras and IF someone comes into the Basement I just rev up my saw and mow then down. Sometimes I'll get some trying to save but most of the time no one comes into the Basement.

As Clown I actually protect the chest inside the Basement, I let people come down but if they try to loot that chest they get slashed. This one I don't do as much because it is difficult to try and draw this out. If I stand in front of the chest and just not do anything then nothing happens. If I stand near the chest I can shake my head saying ''NO, MY BOX!'' Then slash them once, if they try again I down them. But this is all very situational, this one is more psychology based and dependent on reactions from the group as a whole, then it turns into sociology if all of them get involved which is ideal but won't always happen. I've really only had this happen perfectly once so I don't usually do this with Clown.

Even though Clown is harder to do this with without his Pinky add-on I still feel he is the best in the Basement aesthetically, the whole scene of a drunk Clown just throwing bottles at people in a Basement is hilarious. Maybe instead of slashing them at the chest, I should throw my bottles, might work better.

  • My buddy had a dude who ranted and raved at him about Clown gameplay. The dude criticized my friend for ''using his bottles too much'' he literally judged him for using his ABILITY in a CHASE. Then he was saying that he plays Clown and he doesn't use his bottles that much because he doesn't have to, not necessary. It was hilarious to hear the whole thing down lol

Imagine yelling at someone for using Spirit's Phasing too much XD

  • I see him all the time, I myself choose not to play him though because even though I love Bruce Campbell and his character, because his perk was nerfed he doesn't feel capable of being the hero he should be.

  • Get it on the PC don't make the same mistake I did :(

I really wish I had waited to play this on the PC rather than jumping onto the PS4, I have everything bought and almost unlocked and I can't spend that amount of money on the PC version, too expensive and way too many hours.
