So it is only fact if killers say so, and Maurice too.

Completely disregarding it was fun to use as that might contribute to part of the popularity. Games should be fun.

Games should be fun on both sides and trust me killer side was not fun before. Now its ok. I still have multiple matches where i only get 0-1 kills because survivors are good, but at least they dont get free escapes anymore.

Survivor is so much more fun now to play because i have to rely on my skills more than 2 perks that carried the whole match.

get off the forums then if you don't like whining.

I'm sorry did i hit a soft spot?

  • Yeah its getting a little silly that Feng gets an outfit every single time. There are other survivors too. Also it would be nice if you stopped giving sunglasses to every outfit for other survivors...and as a Meg mainer id like some LONG haired cosmetics without sunglasses.

  • Holy crap you people whine about everything...

  • I just dont get it.. this patch didnt break the game this patch made it more fair.

Survivors lost some of their broken tools like endgame free escape DS and unbelievable broken DH. Dead hard by the way is still a very strong tool but more fair and requires some brain to use.

Before this patch i got so burned out from killing i stopped. I couldnt do it anymore.

Why is it that when the game is made more fair to the other side survivors just completely break down. Is it that you can't play without winning most of your matches and bagging at the exit gates?

There is 2 things killing side needs to be looked at and its nurse and blight i agree on those 2 they are very strong. Also camping and tunneling. Well i dont really do eather of them since i like to better myself by playing fair and learning to be a better killer. Camping a hook or tunneling freshly unhooked person doesnt make me a bettter killer.

Sometimes tunneling is needed though. I have plenty of matches where im about to lose 1-2 gens left and i have no one dead. I will start tunneling people at that point to put some pressure back to the survivor side. Camping is fine when the exit gates are powered and killer has someone in the hook and they want to secure that one kill. Not sure why survivors think they are entitled of free escapes.

Right now game is plagued by people who dc and quit on their first down and hook. This isnt the killers fault its the survivors who refuse to play when they go down. I had 3 of these matches yesterday in 2 hours.

Maybe this game was so long completely survivor sided that now that they are trying to balance things out survivor mains are losing their cool completely.

  • I mean if we are losing and i see someone selfcaring in a corner constantly yeah...i'm not going to be very happy about it. Sometimes you need to be injured and do stuff.

Healing against legion is most of the times waste of time yet i see people self caring every 20 seconds .

Self carer can ruin the team sometimes.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

I havent seen rage quit or suicide in a while, are you sure this is not just a hyperbole?

    Like everything on these forums

I saw 3 today. I even asked the survivors why are you giving up on first hook or first down. Well against nurse i got that they just dont want to play against her and she shouldnt exist and yada yada the normal. I told them they will never learn to play better against nurse if they just keep giving up and they started insulting me and calling me a killer protector...

Other dcs were against legion and plague...so pretty much survivors dc when they get killer they dont like or they get downed first and their ego cant take it.

    3 today..and i played 2 hours+

  • People are salty if they win and people are salty if they lose. There is no pleasing them. Ive seen worse insults and ive gotten worse insults. Just kill them with kindness never lower yourself to their levels. Sarcasm and kindness works and they usually quiet down :)

I do still think the game should apply a mini ban to people like this. Some insults and slurs we get here are horrible and some people might be in bad headspace to take them.

  • survivor : aftercare

Killer: stridor ( i play spirit nowdays ok ) :D

  • I love the new DH. Everytime i manage to time it right especially against a really good killer it makes me feel good. Its not just simply press E anymore. Also i love the animation, i wouldnt mind if it stayed :D

  • SoloQ is rough but i think its skill and entitlement issue as well.

I escape matches when people work together and do gens. I die in matches where people give up on first hook or DC on first down. Or i get a survivor thats self caring in a corner for ages or hides half of the matches.

If i get survivors that knows the basics of the game we usually escape or 2 at least escapes. (you know you're not supposed to win every single match)

If we have a good killer then kudos to the killer. He or She deserved the kills playing well!

I get alot of good survivors now. People have adapted to not having endgame crutch perks anymore and dead hard is becoming strong again people are learning to use it. Biggest issue for me is the Dcs and hiding.

  • Maps could use an overhaul but im little afraid of that since new maps that have come out to the game are horrible and massively survivor sided.

Eyrie of crows...what can i say..theres nothing to say big map, too big even. Horrible main house and for trapper and hag this map is hell on earth. For stealth killers ..welp good luck. Slow killers...goodluck

Garden of...joy. Again another survivor sided map with steel bushes with horrible hit boxes some massively good loops and godtier main house.

yeah maps need a rework but im little worried about rework making them even worse.

Haddofield. Yes its stunning map, but the houses are horrible to deal with for a killer and the windows are so weirdly made you can never get a hit when someone jumps through them. Only saving grace about this map is the large open area at the middle, but it comes with some good pallet loops.

  • I had these survivors as well. I killed 2 and the remaining 2 did nothing.. well ok they booned. They booned 2-3 times for funsies and after that they were hiding for 30+ minutes. I refused to DC and take penalty so i tried finding them...couldnt

No gens were done at that point. After 30 minutes or so one of the appeared infront of me i downed him he crawled towards a tree and this wild meg appeared..i downed her...just out of spite i put Ace into the cage and watched Meg bleed out.

You keep me hostage for 30+ minutes waiting for me to DC and type EZ in the endgame chat i sure as hell will watch you bleed out for 4 minutes.

I have video evidence of this so we shall see if these 2 get a ban.

Oh and i asked them afterwards was it fun trying to get me to dc so you could win and in their words..they were RPing in the small hut in mothers dwelling playing house. I went past that hut multiple times didnt see them there.

  • I mean the rift has been up for a while now. I play about 25+ hours per week sometimes more so :D I have my tomes done too ...waiting for new page.

  • Finished week ago or so

    Nurse objectively has no counterplay.

    Distance? She doesn't care.

    Pallets? She doesn't care.

    Windows? She doesn't care.

Different floor (i.e. Midwich, The Game)? She doesn't care.

All you can do is TRY to break line of sight and hope she misses but breaking line of sight isn't possible on any map so there you have it. No mechanical counterplay no matter how you put it.

How often do you get a comp Nurse against you who doesnt make any mistakes? Ive had maybe one and she had 7000 hours in the game. Most killers make mistakes. Nurse has counterplay its walls and edges of the map.

People who dc and give up without trying is a big issue in soloQ and thats not the killers or behaviours fault.

Does nurse need to be nerfed yes.

  • @Murgleïs said:

I don’t see anything wrong. She is buying addons and offering with BP and you guys DC. She has to get her money back somehow.

You are so entitled you think you deserve a free win because survivors DC. Blame your teamates not the nurse.

Its funny how survivors blame the killers when soloQ is horrible but most if not all of the time its by their own doing. DCing and hiding and not doing the objectives which are gens.

Yah nurse is a strong killer. Dcing against her wont make it better or change that fact. play the game learn to counter her, do gens

I guess you are somewhat right: the patch brought a big shift in the MMR brackets of a lot of players; survivors who got hard carried before and still got easy escapes went down in MMR quite a bit, while a lot of killers got a surge of power ... before raising in MMR to face really competent survivors and am hitting a wall again.

This is basically what I am preaching for what feels forever: the game plays out radically different at Low/Mid and High MMR. While everyone assumes that they are high MMR, I am pretty sure that I regularly get up there, just because of my different experience from other players.

At lower-ish MMR killers were always the overpowering and undefeatable menace that we think off when we talk about a slasher film: they walk around and kill survivors, who got no counterplay, know not how to loop, how to hide, hide to evade and who might even be scared of the sounds the gen is making (literally jumping at shadows). Here the last patch was quite devestating and some casual players might feel like this is just a slaughter simulator.

At higher-ish MMR as short as 2 days after the patch dropped things basically went back to normal and after 3 days survivors were back to slamming gens like mad and looping like young gods. Games didn't feel miserable any more and more fair, mostly due to the erradication of DH, but also the general 10%, but honestly, at high MMR you just don't 3-4k every game, you face way to stiff competition for that, and if you want to do well a couple of games in a row you essentially have to play full sweat 110%. For me, thats just not worth the effort, but others apparently welcome the challenge.

That being said, here is the core of the problem: the low and high skill end of the game play out drastically different, yet BHVR applied the same blanket buffs and debuffs to all players. Maybe some survivor tactics and perks are a bit overtuned in high MMR gameplay, but they definitely aren't in mid-low. And some stuff that might feel a bit underpowered might be literally OP in the hand of skilled players.

What would be much healthier as all this talk about "nerf this" or "make this basekit" might be actual MMR bracket modifiers. This is a tough sale, though, as we all don't know our MMR numbers, but I think it would be much healthier to apply a few different number tweaks to different perks, or even the base killer abilities, at different MMR brackets instead of giving them to everyone and then realize that one end of the spectrum is happy with the change and even don't feel it that much anymore, while the other and is living in literally MMR hell.

I would also appy more restrictions, ie forbid certain perks on certain killers or restrict certain combinations. We could also talk about lowering the percentage the more players are running a certain perk or giving you less value out of individual slowdown perks the more of them you equip in your loadout.

This is very true. On low MMR prove thyself isnt as much of a problem as it is on high MMR at in my opinion. Low MMR people dont even know what prove thyself does and they hide half of the match instead of sitting on gens, but high MMR they know how to squeeze all the power out of that perk while good looper is keeping the killer busy. This is a problem in my games.

I play huntress mostly and as she is strong she is also weak. her map pressure is weak due to slowness and if im running after a survivor i have to make a choice..do i continue running after this survivor or do i go back to gens which will lose me the possible down. While im chasing this person usually i end up losing a gen unless the survivor screws up. If i have discordance i usually notice survivors use this situation and hop on a gen together with prove thyself ( if they have it ) and that gen will finish quite quickly. Even with discordance you can't always leave your chase to go shoo the survivors off the gen they are grouping on since you do have to get hooks and downs as well. Need to also meantion that if i see im against a god looper i usually end up leaving them and looking for a weaker link but leaving a survivor and finding another takes some time too + downing them which again gives more time for survivors to prove thyself a gen.

I think they need to fix the MMR system and what i find the biggest problem in this game is the maps. Some maps...well in my opinion most of the maps are very survivor based with good loops and houses which are horrible to deal with.

On high MMR and with good survivors you don't even notice that they added extra 10 seconds into the gens. Behaviour is also adding more gen speed perks which kinda nullifies the nerf they even gave to them.

  • It wasnt even too long ago that this skin was on a rift.. Could have at least recolored it.

    Useless code for me

  • P18 Meg And P11 huntress. My issue is that i like to put bloodpoints on every characters so i dont think ill ever focus on just one. A lot of my survivors and killers are P10 at least

Wow, then they wasted several perk slots. Should’ve been an easier trial for you. Doesn’t mean they should’ve insulted you though.

Dunno guess i messed up but gens were flying left and right, also they were actually good survivors.

Not saying i didnt mess up sure i did but corn map + huntress+ 4 Prove thyselfs + 4 boons + good survivors...means trouble in my book

  • Had a team with 4 prove thyselfs today.. safe to say i had no chance. Also they had 4 boon of broken heals, and they were insulting me at the endgame.. fun times

  • I run aftercare in every match and people who are under aftercare that sees my aura keeps running the killer to me... Yeah thats not an accident anymore at that point.

Then again nothing surprises me anymore with survivors

  • Yush im rare i belong to 5%!!

  • Sorry...i had a nurse daily but i didnt use that build, and i left the last one get the hatch.

  • I like it as both survivor and as killer. I like that i feel more rewarded when i actually manage to do a nice play with DH now and not just mindlessly press E and win. As a killer i like that my chases arent prolonged another 20-30 seconds just with 1 perk, unless i screw up and that is my own fault.

  • Vampire type of killer, both male and female. Not Dracula since it kinda ties the character to his lore and outfits and stuff but original vampire so they can make it both male and female and make outfits as they please.

Jason would be nice addition too if we think of licensed killers.

  • PC- Steam- Europe. Been saying that for the past 30 minutes now. Cant log in.

  • Im having it as well. Can't log into the game

I can tell to to take your posts with a grain of salt as soon as you use the term "entitled survivors". No bias there!

I played 3 matches last night (as I posted in this thread) and every Killer camped and tunneled at 4-5 gens. The D/Cing in my matches is usually a reaction to being hooked, and having the Killer camp and tunnel them down immediately. It's out of exasperation.

Are there survivors that D/C for stupid reasons? Like being downed first? Sure, I've seen that too. Everyone has. But in the vast majority of Solo Q games, people D/C because the Killer is playing like a scumbag and people are sick and tired of it. It's a symptom of an underlying problem.

I call people who dc and leave 3 other teammates to hang entitled cause it is pretty damn selfish to just leave and dc because something doesnt please you in the match.

  • @rvzrvzrvz said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3122343#Comment_3122343

No even games with no DC are unfun if killer is half decent and know what he's doing, killer was already stronger than solo Q in previous patch so maybe stop lying it's not a DC problem, what happens if you nerf the weakest role in the game ? It gets even weaker and close to unplayable

They wouldnt have buffed the killers if there wasnt an actual issue with the kill rates so yeah im sure the biggest problem still lies on the survivors themselfs and not leaning against very strong perks like DH and endgame DS.

Dcs and insta rage quits are the biggest issue for me not the fact that killers are playing well. I still see survivors that can loop even good killers very well while others do gens and dont hide in corners. Usually these matches end 3-4 survivors getting out of the matches.

Also the fact that you say going against a good killer is not fun just tells me all i need to know... I love going against good killers that dont lean on tunneling and camping anyone but kill survivors with their actual skill. I dont mind losing at all to them and i always give them props at the endgame chat

  • Sadly SoloQ is bad because of survivors and not because of killers.

If people stopped being entitled Dcers and first hook im going to get out of heres types the games would be much better. Also if people would stop hiding and did gens while someone is running the killer the games would be better but it is what it is...

Sure there are those camping and tunneling killers too but mostly im putting the blame on entitled survivors that leave teammates just because they got downed or they dont like something.

  • DH is still a good perk. I learned to use it right and its still strong and usable perk just requires little bit more knowledge to use than just pressing E and getting away with it.

I don't really understand why people cant see why DS and off the record dont activate in end game. You know DS gave a lot of people abusable endgame escapes and they were bodyblocking and using that skill so killers had 0 chance of getting anyone at the endgame. This is the reason DS should never work at endgame ever again and same goes for Off the record. Sure give the 5 second stun back but never again the endgame abusableness.

Survivors can still play very well and effectively if they try but a lot of you instead of even trying DC on first hit or what killer it is or you guys hide in the corners not doing anything which automatically means the game is lost to those who actually try.

Survivors playing immersed has always been a (frustrating..) thing—this patch didn’t create the play style. BHVR is trying to encourage a more hide and seek approach to killer counterplay by shortening chases.

Problem with that playstyle is that the gens wont do themselfs. I dont play immersed unless i have to and that means on death hook, and even then i try to do my best to help others and do gens.

I have so many matches where me and maybe my BF do gens and 2 others just run around the map or hide at corners and those matches are automatically hatch matches, and what makes it worse its usually one of the hiders that get away or the killer lets them out because they did SO MUCH in that match :D

  • @drsoontm said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3121257#Comment_3121257

I've noticed more survivors using DH properly, particularly against Nurse. For the ones skilled enough, it's even better since DH isn't ubiquitous anymore it's not automatically baited.

The rage-quitters and AFKers aren't as common as they used to be for me. I had only one yesterday, who instantly stopped moving when he saw the Blight and was handled appropriately.

    Edit: blame the autocorrect ;)

Ive sadly had alot of dcs :( today alone i think i had 3 Dcs and 1-2 killed themselfs on first hooks. Its getting quite annoying honestly.

Then i had survivors in lobbies with names like if its this and that killer i DC... i just skipped those lobbies instant :D

I would genuinely be surprised if it was the case. With all the DH-boosted survivors getting re-adjusted, it must have been a blood-bath.

Although games with DCs aren't used in the statistics so ... I guess it's possible.

    Oh, gods ...

Took me a while to re-adjust to the new DH but honest this new DH is good too, and whats best it requires timing and actually little bit skill nowdays than just pressing E. Ive had matches as a killer that i still get 0 or 1 kills since survivors are doing gens very fast and in many of my matches i see at least 2 prove thyselfs.

Good survivors have learned how to use Dh again and im coming across that perk more and more and its being used right which prolongs the chases.

Biggest issue right now in survivor side is the DCs and people hiding and not doing anything, and thats not the killers fault.

    Edit: cant write

  • Had a Nea urban evase and hide behind every box and wall possible in the Game map for the whole game. Did nothing useful. How i know this is because i use aftercare and i had it active on her whole match. It was the worst urban evase spine chill selfcare gamer ive ever seen..

Today i had a Claudette who had no mither and some other perks and left behind.. she did 1 gen on that fight rest of the fight she hid. Didnt save anyone from hooks, didnt help other gens, didnt take protection shots nothing. So when i finally went on my last hook and 1 other was dying on his second hook i saw her hididng at the circus (clown map) and she was just pointing at me doing no movements to come save me..Luckily the demo found her and killer her after realising what she was doing and i dont even care he was hitting on her hook while she died.

    This is why soloQ sucks..

If you have Urban gamers in your lobies, your mmr is not high. I don't remember when i saw this perk last time honestly.

Ive seen urban evasion self care package on players with 2000+ hours so i wouldnt say only new players use it.

Mostly my issue in SoloQ is the fact that people use spine chill and run away from gens when it activates and only comes back 2 minutes later when killer has gone by oh and the ragequitters...those are a BIG issue right now.

Yea except this one is different. 12k players on steam left last month. How many do you think this month will leave? You can bet that new and casual survivor players (which make up most of the player base) will not stick around to lose to bad killers every game.

Resident evil chapter will be coming and that gives more new and probably returning playerbase. No game stays steady all the time people come and go, people try out other games and takes breaks, return later. Its NORMAL.

Game isnt dying just because survivors got nerfed.

Ok as long as you know that this update will kill the game considering most of the games killers play are soloq casual players. Sure they can play something else. Have fun playing against nothing but SWF I suppose.

I think every update so far has killed the game if we believe the words of some people in the community...still going strong.

Dead by Daylight should have been dead 10+ times already if every update kills the game and every change that some people dont like.

  • People get mad about everything nowdays.. Hooked on you is funny. Its cringy as hell but funny. If its not your thing dont play it.

Game didnt ruin dead by daylight for me its just funny game to play on the side.

Also i dont see any sex appeal on the game. The killers arent that goodlooking.. well some might say spirit is but for me i just found them horrible looking.

No what I want is for generator times to go back to normal, because who on earth wants to sit and watch a progress bar creep up for a minute and a half?? But since I can't get that and the game has changed, I want my money back. I think this is utterly ridiculous and for the life of me I can't understand how on the one hand people can think increased generator time is not big deal and on the other hand blame people for being fed up with the game, like myself.

I can't understand the ATTITUDE of people thinking its all about winning and losing when its about making a game that's supposed to be enjoyable for people! it's not enjoyable for people to lose, but it's a downright kick in the face and being spat on to be told you have to do even more of the most boring, tedious and gruelling part of this game (generator repair).

You say game has to be enjoyable for people but you do know that this game has 2 sides? survivors and killers... yes killers are people too they deserve to have their game enjoyable too.

This patch was killer sided and for a good reason. They had to make changes since the game was too survivor sided and heres the news flash.. killers werent having FUN.

This being said i still think the biggest issue is the map sizes and safe loops but this is what they did now who knows what happens in the future.

  • Self care sure thats fine but i dont want to see the old broken DH ever again. Also DS give the 5 seconds back but i do want it to stop working at endgame since people did abuse it to get free escapes. No free escape perks should work at endgame anymore.

  • @Carnivorone said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3118346#Comment_3118346

Then why don't you give up every single perk that has an effect that lasts less than 10 seconds, seemings as its so useless. Oh wait, most perks have effects which last for 2–4 seconds. 10 seconds is obviously not a trivial amount of time in this game, and you're blind if you think that it is. Especially multiplied by 5 and then add some for regression and for the superfluos generators on the map.

Not to mention generators are clearly the most boring, tedious and gruelling part of the game. If anything should have been changed it should NOT have been an increase to generator time

Take a break then. If you are having that hard time having fun in this game find something else to play. I'm still having fun as a survivor and im having fun learning new perks and not relying on E and endgame DS escapes. I even play perkless sometimes and shocking i have escaped :D

  • I keep saying that soloQ wouldnt be as bad if people learned to stop hiding or dcing constantly.

Most of my matches i see people urban evasion and spine chilling behind something and not being on the gens. Then other half is people raging and quitting after first down leaving other teammates to struggle.

  • @Carnivorone said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3118340#Comment_3118340

Again, I don't care about PERKS! The generator time is now too long! The most boring, gruelling and tedious part of the game has been EXTENDED!

10 seconds ...its whooping 10 seconds... get yourself a deja vu or something to speed up the gens and stop making excuses.

If you are that unhappy about 10 seconds play something else or try playing killer for few months..you'll notice that 10 seconds doesnt really do much with survivors that actually know how to play this game.

  • Game has finally become more balanced since survivors cannot abuse 2 perks that completely broke endgame in this game...these 2 being DS and DH...

DCING and leaving your teammates to struggle just because you arent having fun is 100% your fault, not anyone elses. Play the game to the end, give your teammates a chance of winning or at least collecting some bloodpoints and stop babyraging at the hooks when you can't win every single one of your games.

1 … 13 14 15 16 17 … 27
