  • I'm more chase oriented killer. I prefer having aura reading + gen defense as perks, maybe even some chase perks mixed in there. I never play with 4 of the same type perks.

I don't tunnel or slug unless i have to or survivor gives me reason for it. I prefer killers like spirit, Jason, Ghoul. Dracula, very fast speedy killers with good chase ability. I also like to play Sadako, pig, unknown and nemmy quite a bit. Spirit sadly i had to drop, since the pallet density + sounds being all over the place i haven't been enjoying her at all.

3k for me is a win. I don't slug for 4k unless im doing adept.

I'm not a killer main, just try to play both sides, so im pretty chill and im 100% bribable by being funny.

  • I've noticed i get downvoted no matter what i say.. So im guessing people don't really like me here 😁, but yeah killer defensive or people who can actually see the game from both sides do get more downvotes here than survivor biased people. Also one of the reasons i kinda stopped writing much anything anymore.

Not sure why these votes even need to be here.

  • I'm just surprised and disappointed they added recolours of old skins to premium rift. Those should be in the free one.

Are we running out of ideas for cosmetics or whats happening?

  • I used to get more anxious while playing killer, and i still do sometimes. While queuing for a match i see pink shirted Ace with flashy yeah..my heart does get a bit faster, but ive tried to stop caring that i need to be the host of the game and keep everyone happy.

( This event has aged me 20 years while playing killer though )

Its not the killers job to make everyone happy. I tunnel now if i need to tunnel. I slug now if i need to slug. It doesn't matter how i play this game there will always be salty survivors in this game.
I always try to play "fair", but quite often i have to tunnel/slug due to unhooked person bodyblocking me with their 15 seconds of immunity + DS+ DH.

Same goes while you play survivor. No matter how well you play there will be salty teammates and salty killers.
As a survivor i always try to be on gens, unhook, heal and i love the chase so i dont mind taking the chase, sadly soloQ is what soloQ is so don't expect everyone to play to your standards

Try doing your best as a survivor, and play the best you can as a killer, even if it requires tunneling. Lets forget the rulebook and try to enjoy the game we all paid for.

ngl, I never quit but I did so once with the invisibility. even playing vecna 1 for the orb I was still losing people.

the invisibility reminds me I despise chase music.

I never DC unless my game crashes, but this event and that 1 game in badham..the best map in the game cough.. something just cracked and i got enough. Very disappointing event in many ways. I was looking forward on playing both sides equally and getting cakes.

  • 4. Do your killer tasks and enjoy survivor for the rest of the event. 😁

I'm not gonna lie i played my last killer match in this event in badham and survivors had portals + invisibility. They just kept line of sighting me and disappeared. Refilled their items and kept healing. I'm not proud…i dced…and i havent gone back to killer ever since. Got my tasks done so im good.

We should have seen this coming I guess. I remember they released a video where they were saying they wanted the Halloween event to be the big bloodpoint event of the game (I think it was the Halloween event, I could be wrong though, it was definitely a seasonal event though).

That doesn't make it okay though. I'm very disappointed I spent all those BP they gave us and the return was a tiny amount of cakes. Why do I play this game? I must be crazy because I keep getting coming back despite the same results over and over.

Didnt they make the halloween event offering personal use only kinda thing though. I really don't understand why these big events can't all be shared bloodpoint offerings. You can't even use the offerings outside the events, other than the anniversary cakes.

  • Ive played a lot these almost 2 days now and all total ive gotten 180 cakes. This grinding isnt worth it. I think i've played around 14-15 hours in all total for that amount of cakes :(

Also giving these cakes to anyone whos under P100 isnt worth it.. at least P100 gets 1 cake every bloodweb, but isn't the point of bloodpoints also to level other characters?.

  • I'll just do the quests and stick to survivor for the rest of the event.

  • I think they should have let killers keep the old event powers. Then this would have been fairer.

I played some killer yesterday, but i stopped after survivors were getting insta healed in chase, going invicible, to the point of me losing them, and tanking hits with invulnerable and extra endurance.

I was also blocked from moving with unbreakable pallets which gave them god loops i couldn't deal with.

I'll just stick to survivor in this event…

  • I'm not sure if its just the bulk spending. I just manually gave bloodpoints and i saw 1 cake in 7 levels. Thats not great.

Why are you being stingy about event offerings? This game is super grindy, so why not give us an opportunity to get offerings to help out with that?

I guess you just watched Scott Jund's new video. The difference is those killers are not as stuffed in their basekit as Jason. His teleport power let's him move around the map INVISIBLE at crazy speed and teleport out to a pallet or window vault which are almost always where totems spawn.

It's not the same as Onryo where you can turn off a TV. Or as Demogorgon where you can seal a portal. Or Wraith who has to walk across the entire map and you see his shimmer coming and can hide.

"Not the only one that can defend totems and gens" but the only one that does it with a level of oppressiveness that overpowers the game in a completely unfun way. So many games I play I'm crouching next to a hex ready to break it and I have to wait forever for him to come out of power to do it. Many times he only comes out AS SOON AS I TOUCH the totem. And the game isn't progressing because my teammates are also crouching and waiting until someone else starts chase.

    It HAS to change.

No.. i play the killers and i play survivor. I see which killers can do the same as Jason can and even more. Single Larry? Best camper in the game. You can't get rid of his blobs permanently and all he needs to do is shoot another one if EMPed.

Hag, another good example, but you don't see her too much because she's overally pretty weak in these days DBD.

You don't even need to do totems when you have proper nurse or blight player. You'll be too busy otherwise.

Using Jason as an example who can defend totems and gens is really out there when all the strong fast killers can do the exact same thing, but better. Ranged killers like huntress and trickster aren't the strongest killers but damn can they camp the hooks well. Hag and trapper, weak killers but end up in the basement with them, you'll die in there.

I could go on and on, but its pointless because people in this game are unwilling to learn anything anymore. People just rather come to the forums and demand for nerfs or DC in the game without putting any effort in.

After edit note : Also adding that if the killer keeps defending totems do gens. Its not the killers fault teammates are crouching in corners too scared to do anything. I've personally stopped the crouching and i just keep an eye out at my surroundings. I check where Jason can spawn next to me and prepare for chase. Crouching in corners and being afraid is not going to win you the game. You can use it well in chase though if he goes into his mist.

  • Not the only killer who can defend totems and gens.

I did report them. One of them was extremely proud and toxic about using it. Made me cringe not gonna lie. 🙄

Am I living in some alternate reality where people are deluded? The numbers don't lie. Jason has the highest winrate BY FAR. He is so very overpowered.
Having such a high winrate when the killers are new and learning to play him is insane.

This is because he is new… Survivors havent fully learned to go against him yet. Ive seen so much improvement in this though. Had many matches today where we all escaped or had 3 man or 2 man escapes against Jason.

This happens everytime. Jason is also extremely popular killer atm. Most of my matches in the past 4 days have been against only him so of course his kill rates are going to be over the top. Give it a week or 2 and things will calm down. He's not some SSS tier killer.

None of those things were powercrept. Aura perks are stronger than they've ever been. Her reload is faster and she gets basekit infantry belt. Maps have only been made smaller and weaker. Indoor maps were only made smaller and weaker. How is any of that powercreep?

We can agree to disagree. I doubt old ranged killers are doing well in todays dbd. Trickster is struggling with his/her 4.4 speed, so is deathslinger. As i said huntress is rare killer in my games nowdays as is other "older" ranged killers with no map mobility. There must be a reason for it no?
Survivors have gotten good buffs lately. Hud has been improved quite a bit for the soloQ. Survivors have gotten 15 second endurance. Newer killers have all anticamp of some sort built into their kit. Old perks like DH,DS are still meta and for a reason.

Survivors arent weak and they have gotten buffs, just because soloQ sucks doesnt mean survivor side is bad.

  • @Rogue11 said:

How exactly has Huntress been "powercrept"? Presumably you must mean survivors have been made stronger, but how exactly? Most survivors are still using worse versions of perks that existed when Huntress first released, with weaker versions of the same items, on weaker versions of maps that existed when she was released.

Huntress is still slow, has to go to a locker to get more hatchets, If you don't have aura reading are you really a huntress, but having aura reading means losing gens. Maps are still pretty large and inside maps sucks for huntress. So yeah her map coverage is pretty bad as is every ranged killers that doesn't have somekind of mobility.

Most huntress games are chill, if you know how to loop one. They are great campers though. She just isnt as good as she used to be and i wouldn't mind if she got buffs.

  • Can we stop comparing Jason to huntress, or trickster or deathslinger.

All of those 3 have been powercrept so hard that they are pretty useless in most maps and against good survivors. So no. Lets not make Jason to be same level as huntress or trickster when both of those killers are in serious needs of buffs.

If i understood correct too Jasons projectile speed is actually slower than huntresses making it easier to dodge.

Thank god. Now the days can start getting a bit shorter.

Noo i love the sunny days and nights. I hate the cold and darkness.

Happy midsummer to all the nordics, and to everyone who celebrates it!

  • I gave all my killers levels equally. Done P100 anyone since theres really no reason for it so, i just level everyone equally now.

  • He's okay. I enjoy playing him, but missing a spear can sometimes feel quite bad. His cooldown between spear and M1 can also feel pretty terrible. His anticamp slowdown is cruel though and might need to be looked at. especially in 2 story maps. You get anticamp even if you are below/top of the hook. In end game it shouldnt even happen anymore.

He's strong but not Op. Fun to play. I enjoy playing characters with speed.

  • Probably Singularity and Knight.

They just have this way of playing. Knight sends minions to hooks and proxy camps and returns when someone saves, eather tunnels or take the easy free hit to the savior and downs them fast.

Single Larry. Puts blobs near hooks and kinda does the same that knight does just way more effective.

Honorable mention goes to Skullmerchant. I know how she is now is kinda poopoo, but i think i'm just forever traumatized from those forever matches that i used to have against her. Everytime i see skull merchant i just get moody. I can't like her, i'm sorry.

  • Its a good thing i went to sleep. It started 4 am for me so wasnt worth it. I was really hoping for Pennywise but this is looking more like slendie or Jason…or who knows maybe its none of those and its an original killer.

Slenderman im not that interested in, if its Jason im happy we finally have one of the most known slashers in the game. Was just reaaaally hoping for Penny boy.

  • How often do you actually see Krasue? Ive seen 2 in the last 3 months i think.

    Theres nothing to nerf.

  • They need to update the whole game. Hairs on many characters look really bad. The new Sable hair in this bloodmoon outfit is half bald and the bun looks like a clip on.

This game needs a massive graphical update.

  • I've been running it with a friend and i can tell you 2 people using it is ridiculous. Its badly designed perk. Killer hooking someone shouldnt give anyone a free mini brand new part.

  • I tried playing him for few matches and he is rough to play. I personally am not a fan of 4.4 killers overally, and i think its something behaviour should drop all together.

His map is gorgerous, but rough on multiple killers. Most 4.4 killers will struggle on this map, like they struggle on all the bigger maps. This is why i prefer playing 4.6 killers or killers with mobility.

His blades.. when i played him i felt like i was constantly out of knives. Reloading meant i lost the chase and being slow 4.4 catching up sometimes sucked.

The arcade type noises everytime you get a rank up gets to my nerves honestly. Game already has so much noises i don't need extra in my ears. Those sounds could be more quieter.

I havent lost to a single trickster yet, and ive gone against quite a few. With all the pallets and line of sights maps have now looping a slow killer with limited knives isn't that hard.

I wanted to like trickster, i've always loved how he looks and his playstyle, and now with Mina i wanted to buy her and actually play her, but i cant. It's not worth putting what..16-17 euros on a character i know will drive me insane.

"edit" Adding that the laceration decay is also little bit too fast. All you need to do is get good line of sight and it will decay in no time. This also makes me feel like im running out of blades faster. Maybe make that a little bit longer.

  • This topic alone shows me a lot about survivor mentality in this game.

I don't run DS, but i don't also complain if i get hard tunneled. I take the risk of being tunneled with my perks and i accept it if it happens. I used to run DS and DH together and i prolonged the tunneling by quite a bit, but nowdays i prefer going with my healing builds and aura reading builds to help out the team as much as possible.

DS does help if you can loop. If you can't loop then nothing is going to help you. Using Off the record, DS or deadhard will always prolong the tunneling. giving your team chance to do gens. Given they do any gens since in soloQ people are more interested in hiding or breaking bones.

If you don't run perks to help you against tunneling i don't think you should be whining about it. Accept the fact that some killers will hard tunnel you out and move along then. Don't come asking for nerfs in the forum afterwards.

Ive helped and taught my friends who just started playing this game and ive seen them improve their looping, map and perk knowledge, since they are willing to learn. Both of them run some sort of antitunnel since their looping isnt great, and it does help out quite a bit.

  • @WalterBlack said:

Probably the removal of the gamemode, given the complete destruction of 1v4 while it's active.

Agreed. Or at least make it appear less than it is now. Mode isnt fun anymore, if anything its getting stale. Maybe add it once a year only.

I'd rather see chaos and lights out return more often.

  • Put legion back.

    Give us both Vecnas.

Remove button activated sprint burst. Do not put crystals back into the game that remove hook stages. Maybe make new class for killers as well.

  • I can play all of the classes, but i kinda stay away from scout. The broken pallets annoy me so much, and honest i feel like that class is just kinda useless compared to others.

I usually go for medic or escapist.

  • 2v8 is already so easy for survivors. If survivors do gens killers in most cases lose. You got legion out of the game already, now you want Oni?

I can't even play 2v8 due to it being so boring for survivors now. To me it feels like killer bullying simulator.

    This is getting silly.

  • I've seen Henry maybe 8-9 times total since he came out. I got him 2 days ago and he got maybe 2 hooks in that game if i remember correct. I can't blame people not playing him. Good survivors will dodge his attacks and bad survivors…well do what bad survivors do. I'll keep playing him even if i lose. Somehow im still enjoying him, even though he's super frustrating when missing few attacks.

After that i got 4 blights 1 nurse and i think few ghouls and legion. 😫

  • No. His attacks are pretty simple to dodge, they give you warning before it happens. I barely see Henry. I think all together ive versed him 6 times so far. I play him more than i see him as a survivor.

His clock is easy to counter, doesnt take that long and can be done by 1 survivor. Take that away from him and he becomes useless.

if you miss 2 of your vine attacks, survivor usually gets so much distance on you. you have to slowly catch up as 4.4 killer. His undergate attack slows him down for multiple seconds giving survivor plenty of distance. Don't run straight lines, have walls between if possible and you should do fine. If you run straight and camp pallets yeah you are going to go down.

  • Are we going to have a survey asking killers how they feel about survivor perks, items, maps etc etc as well? Kinda weird you give us this 1 sided survey only.

    Fair is fair no?

  • She's not gonna look as good in the game as she looks in the art, that's all im going to say.

If you won't learn the game quickly then we can throw out this notion. Which is the one I had issue with.

This game is starting to cater more and more to unexperienced and new survivors which shouldnt be the case

Because at that point those players are neither new or unexperienced.

Meanwhile someone new can pick up Ghoul and beat players better and more experienced than them, that is being catered to. I think most of the complaints we see from killers has much more to do with how far you can get with many of them without really learning how the game works and by going for easy tunnel outs while playing only the stronger killers. They don't hit the wall as immediately as survivors do.

For the record I started playing almost two years ago and have racked up a silly amount of hours in that time and done all of the things you suggest already and yes I have played both sides. Nor did I complain in my own post. Killer is much more forgiving for me, even now and even if I find playing that side more stressful. The mode you describe is 2v8 but many are opposed to it being a full time thing. I think it makes an excellent learning space for both sides.

My main point on Krasue is that if she hadn't been buffed going from the PTB to the live version she might have been changed in different and possibly less impactful ways or hopefully at least in ways that didn't drop her usage to nothing. The buffs she received were an overreaction caused by people calling her weak, not survivor complaints.

Hmm. Sure ghoul is a strong killer and relatively easy to play, but i wouldnt say new ghoul can easily win especially if they go against survivors with more game knowledge.

The problem in this game is bad tutorial for new players which is why i would love there to be gamemode for new players to play together to a certain amount of hours, and obviously the hidden pest which is MMR. Behaviour did say they would look into fixing the matchmaking so hopefully that will solve some of the issues with new players going against veterans.

2v8 is good place for new survivors to learn i'd say. Killers kinda get rolled in that mode if you have no idea what you are doing unless your opponents are as new as you are. This is why i don't personally enjoy 2v8 anymore. Lack of proper matchmaking is making it uncomfy. I escaped most of my matches with relative ease, or i died watching people not save anyone from cages and no gens were being done.

Thing im trying to say is this game has given survivors a lot lately. Survivors have tools to fight against camping and tunneling more than they had years before. Survivors have gen perks to make gens fly and with the pallet changes most maps have pretty good loops to use against the killers. Still what i see everyday is people giving up on their first hook because they got found first. People not liking the killer they go against and giving up, people literally running to the killers face after being unhooked just to get value out of DS and dying 10 seconds after.

There are strong killers, but giving me a ghoul as an example everytime is not gonna work since i actually like going against them. Looping one after you figure them out isn't as bad as looping good nurse or blight. Even hillbilly to me is more dangerous than ghoul.

  • @FerrousFacade said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4052592#Comment_4052592

You have 5000 hours, claiming you are not out of touch with the new survivor experience just proves how out of touch you are.

I have learned all of this and am well aware that I can still improve but claims that its easy being a new survivor are just flat out wrong. We are literally talking about being new and learning. Ya they need to learn the counterplay for 42 different killers, all while learning where gens typically spawn, map layouts, tile layouts, how to run those tiles, general practice with survivor movement. And they need to do all of this while losing over and over and over again. Killer at that level is much more forgiving. You are completely and totally out of touch.

DId i once meantion its easy to learn all that? No i didnt. You won't learn this game in a day or even 2. You need to put hours in. Do you think i escaped every single match when i was new? Do you think i wasnt hiding in corners and running into walls when i was new?

I am ALL for behaviour giving new players a gamemode that puts them with other new players and killers. This way they arent put against 5000 hour killers and killers arent put against 5000 hour survivors. It would be awesome if there was a mode where lets say under 100 hour players could play together and learn. Sadly this isnt the case, so MMR might screw you over badly in this game.

This game takes time to learn, im still learning new stuff.

  • @FerrousFacade said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4052148#Comment_4052148

You are completely out of touch with the new survivor experience if you think the game is catering to them. Killers can easily play a few hundred hours and 4k players much more experienced than them with the stronger killers in the game. That's catering to new killers not new survivors. Its basically impossible to get new players into the game by having them play survivor.

Remember that Krasue was buffed ptb to live, maybe if that hadn't happened she wouldn't have ended up in her current state. The fault lies with those calling her weak on the PTB.

I play survivor everyday, but i actually try to learn counterplay to every killer and i don't complain everytime i get tunneled or slugged, which btw doesn't happen in every game like survivors tend to say.

So no im not out of touch. I have almost 5000 hours in this game, most of it on survivor. I also play Solo Q or with another friend, which means we still have 2 soloQ teammembers. What i notice is the biggest issue is the OTHER teammembers.

Instead of complaining about every single little thing, people should try to learn counterplays, maybe watch streamers with thousands and thousands of hours how they play and loop tiles. This game isn't casual anymore. Maybe behaviour needs to give casual people their own gamemode.

You can downvote me all you want, but maybe its time to accept the fact that the biggest issue in this game might just be the other survivors. Game screws you by putting you with survivors that might be hiding in corners, blessing totems, breaking bones and doing everything else than gens. Looping lasts for 10 seconds and then they DC.

About Krasue i said she did have issues. She was oppressive, but she didnt have to be gutted. Right now she feels awful to play. I don't think i've seen one in weeks if im honest.

    • edited the Krasue part in. forgot about it.
  • Can we please killswitch grim embrace or secret project? Killers have been actively using this bug in my games.

Maybe they wouldnt have needed to remove her infection on hook if killers didn't throw a collective tantrum at the mere thought of an anti-tunnel system being implemented. Ghoul still the easiest killer to play and get insanely easy wins for almost a year now. Catering to survivors btw.

If you thought the anti tunneling system was good, we have nothing to talk about. As a survivor main mostly, even i hated the thought of it. Let's just agree to disagree :)

  • This is sadly the case with every killer nowdays. See what happened with Krasue. I'm not saying she didnt have issues when she was released but now she's clunky and i personally don't enjoy playing her at all. Her mushrooms are useless too, the whole infection part feels useless now.

This game is starting to cater more and more to unexperienced and new survivors which shouldnt be the case. People with thousands of hours in this game like me actually do enjoy the matches when theres some danger and real close endgame matches are my personal favorite where you have to fight to survive and try to help your teammates.

This is the reason i don't enjoy 2v8 anymore. It's too easy as a survivor and i get bored if i escape 80% of my matches.

  • @Ghost77 said:

It's similar to a ghoul, low skill, very effective, and the survivors hate it; the prototype that loves behavior.

I enjoy going against Henry. Not sure why survivors would hate him. He's not OP his moves are very easy to dodge. Obviously you can't outrun a killer all match but isn't that the case with every killer.

When i play him i get easy matches and i get hard matches. Survivors that drop pallets like i'm M1 killer and run straight lines make it easy for me. Survivors that look behind them and have game knowledge have made me lose multiple matches.

I rather go against Henry anyday than skull merchant, knight or single Larry.

  • Agreed. I've been playing him a lot since yesterday and ive had good and bad matches.

Had few survivors yell at me in the endgame that they are reporting me because i played this killer. These survivors ran straight lines and dropped pallets while i just used my power underneath them. When they noticed i was somewhat of antiloop killer they gave up and stood still. Sigh..

I think this killer is pretty balanced. You can dodge the attacks pretty easily if you just pay attention.

His hitbox hit you through the wall because he hit you when you werent behind the wall its just the difference in players screen like sith ghostface reveal where when you get sound cue that survivor is looking at you he already started like second ago and you will get revealed no matter what if he is still looking at you and foesnt look away, the ghoul has like 2,5 meters hitbox so if there is just some part of your character that hatchet would hit than ghoul hits you too and those hits where you are almost behind the wall are just hit validation where you ran off behind the wall but he hit you with leap a second ago and your charscter just moved so I dont zhink this will be fixed because dome things like crouch tech cant be fixed without making normal gameplay way worse (in terms of crouch tech).

This! People tend to forget or not care about the fact that the hit through the wall might have actually happened while the survivor was not behind the wall.

I've had this happen multiple times. I see the hit clearly happen way before the survivor is behind a wall or rock or any obstacle, but when i pull closer the survivor is behind something making the hit look janky.

For some reason i've noticed this happen more with console folks. Its the same thing after i down someone and they teleport 2 meters forward, happens a lot with console players.

  • I voted for her because she would be the only survivor out of the 4 i'd play. The others didnt look as appealing and i don't really care what people think of that its just how i voted.

I rarely play male characters and i fear the older lady wouldnt look good in DBD. Let's be honest the game needs a heavy graphic update and characters never look as good as their art form.

What i don't understand is that people are attacking people who vote for the survivor or the killer form that they would play. Isnt it better for the game to get characters that actually sell than have another texas chain massacre that couldn't keep their doors open. Let people vote what they like and would play, stop judging, blaming and attacking people because she's " a pretty white woman".

  • I usually take part of topics i feel passionate about, but lately i haven't really been writing much.

After the downvotes came to play i feel like good replys gets downvoted due to biased people and maybe just people that don't like you. These forums are filled with people that only play 1 side or heavily lean on one side, and they cannot see problems from the other side due to this, but they give out bad takes. If you comment on these posts you usually get heavily downvoted by the other biased people that share the 1 sided view of the game.

I read posts almost daily though. 😊

  • She feels clunky to play. I played her after the pallet update and yeah wasn't good. She also misses her hits more now which doesn't help her clunkyness.
