Yes, and I hate it. It's add-ons like that which made me hate going against Wraith in the first place.
You want to stealth? Nope, wall hacks. Better just start running when he sees you.
I went against a scratched Mirror Mike just 23 hours ago at Lery's and all I had to do was Lithe into the abyss. I got tipped off because Distortion lost all of its charges almost instantly. I'd way for Spine Chill, look around, then take off laughing while calling him an old man. He only downed me at the end where he commited to the entire chase and I had to keep him away from the doors. But even then I still evaded him long enough for the last two gens to pop.
Wraith? Nah man. He'd just catch up and smack me for being such a tosser.

I can’t speak for everyone, but a simple acknowledgement to the community that play DBD of “Guys we messed up, sorry for the inconvenience caused. Our team are looking into the issues, and we’ll have it sorted ASAP”
Much like the developers of CyberPunk 2077, delays happened, they took ownership of the problem, and publicly apologised numerous times.
But instead…. We get a robotic answer pinned to the forum “We’ll look into it”
if these sorts of issues were few and far between I’m sure the community would be much more chilled about it….. But no, they’re not few and far between….
Every.
Single.
{Bad Word}.
Chapter a new bug emerges….
Which is either completely ignored for weeks on end ( Shadow nerf ) despite the forums being literally flooded with complaints. Or the above example happens.
We know, that you know. Fog Whispers talk about it constantly. And I don’t believe the company as a whole is that ignorant.
it’s really disappointing to see the community being treated like {Bad Word} consistently.
There's an in game message when you first turn it on saying what's broken, that they're working on it and apology bp. There's a message pinned on the forum saying they are aware of and looking into the issues. What the hell else do you want? Your suggested response doesn't tell anyone anything that the above didn't already do.
And yes, most games actually have glitches when a new dlc or patch comes out and need fixes. That's why you have patch number "x.xx" because they have to keep fixing it.
Answer me honestly: Do you code? Do you know how extremely precise yet fickle it is to code? Putting a single semicolon in one wrong space when coding can break something, for example. It's also not as easy as "Nemesis.buff.exe" or "solution.bug.fix" You have to find the bug, reproduce it, find a what's causing it and how to fix it and then, if there's time left, find if it breaks anything else. For buffs, they need a significant amount of feedback, testing and consideration before going through with it and after all of that, have to deal with the console licensing to actually get certified for updates.
So you want them to do all of that, in less than a week (not even considering people have weekends or can get sick or other emergencies etc.) While also maintaining a ######### live journal and reporting in to the forums about how far along they are, what they're working and how long they think it'll take? No. Because if they estimate incorrectly, they're giving people false hope and another reason to get bashed in by people like you who have 0 clue how this works and get messages like "You said you were working on X and it's not here!!!!"
If there is a company out there that does that, I've never seen it and tip every hat I have to hand for them. That sounds like absolute hell to go through just to please an entitled, impatient community.

I actually sacrificed myself once with Bill of all character and the guy managed to get away.
Another one which was kinda hilarious was against a facecamper and the other two survivors were there trying to bait a punch so i simply walk to them and drop a flashbang, im pretty confident i blinded the killer and both of them cause one of them ended up dying after the hook got saved lol.
Trust me, I know how it goes. I try to do stupid crap all the time to save my friends from a hopeless situation. Sometimes it works and it's amazing. Sometimes we both die. But how awesome would it have been if you DID make the save?
-
Both. It's possible to make the save, but far more likely she'll just feast on you both.
Sweet of you to make sure they didn't die alone, though.

I still have moon offerings on my nurse :D Blendettes were insane during that time as maps were also naturally darker.
I still have some on my... Feng or Nea? Because I only used them to get one perk. I actually liked the darker, more atmospheric maps. I hate any daytime maps tbh.
Also, I have a ton of bronze location offerings and my friends will always drag me when I use one. "What is that? That offering looks SO OLD! Why are you SO OLD, Grimm?!" >:(

It isn't that much effort to know everything. I don't even use half the perks in this game but when I see them used I can name what perk they are using. It's just about paying attention to the descriptions.
That requires you to see them all in action and remember them. For example: I didn't even know The Twins perks existed until last week, because I've only gone against two. I've fought maybe 4 Demos, I can't tell you jack ######### about what all his add-ons do. Same for Trickster, Blight, Nemesis probably some others.
Because it's not that serious. Sure, I'll get surprised every few games and someone like you will go rant on the forums, but... So what?
-
Mate, I've been playing for about 4-5 years now and I don't know what every single perk, add-on and offering do. I just don't really care enough to keep up with it.
That being said, Nurse's is way old. Everyone knows Nurse's and BBQ.
-
You really expect me to believe you spent $60 a month? A month? Within a year, that's over 72k auric cells.
Wait, hold up. What new rank, pip and BP system? Do you mean the Emblems? So you spent $60 a month on the game before even the Spirit was out?.... Three years ago?!
You should absolutely quit. That's as unhealthy as it is impressive.
-

I apologize, I'm probably being more negative than warranted. I'm annoyed at the game right now because my friend got it on the Switch and it is awful. I can't see anything because it's too dark, I'm all thumbs with the joycons, and it's not uncommon for the game to crash at the very end of a match. This means I'm earning 10k on average not taking into account all the points lost from crashing. But I'm trying to help him level up a killer a bit so we can grind points for survivor, and once we return home we can play survivor together. Then we can have fun.
We will finally have a game we can play together in the same house and that thought makes me soooooo happy. But the way the game runs on Switch and how it's worsening the grind with its performance issues... the performance issues mean matches are rarely fun and the crazy grind means it doesn't feel like my suffering is reaping much for rewards. BUT it will hopefully hopefully be worth it when we play together.
On a related note, Switch cross-progression with PC can't come soon enough.
Tldr: Playing on the Switch has me wrankled and the bad performance is making the grind worse which only wrankles me more, but I'm sticking with it because friendship.
I'm sorry if I come off as contrary or argumentative, I absolutely get where you're coming from and it can feel like a grind. I atm can't play as Leon because the blond bastard refuses to get anything to tier 3, it's just all green like a German intersection. Most of the time I play, it's with friends on survivor and I prioritize their escape which usually nets me a small amount of points.
I don't think the system is poor, I think we don't get enough points per match. Even in my example, I noticed I said it takes a BPS to make me excited. Maybe it won't feel so grindy to everyone if we maybe got double the amount of points we do now? Just double. Outright. The rng perks wouldn't feel so bad if you fly through each level

That is interesting. I've been writing down every killer I face, how many kills they get, and their rank, along with some notes since last week's update. That being said I've had about 150-200 matches this past week and I have seen exactly zero Twins. None. Demi and Pig are also missing from my tallies.
I haven't played as many games, but I've also yet to see a Demi or the Twins in the past couple weeks

These days I only run two perks on any and all killers. I don't need or want the others, but I'm forced to buy them and all the other useless junk in the Bloodweb. And that's the hell of it, I'm spending a HUGE amount of Bloodpoints and all I want is one thing. Matches don't feel rewarding when I can only open a few more nodes on the Bloodweb after each one. The game's reward system is Bloodpoints but it's very stingy with them and getting what you want can take a very unreasonable amount of time and Bloodpoints because it's completely RNG-based.
When someone has a goal they're trying to reach, it's human nature that the goal overshadows the journey. If this game had any sympathy for its players it would keep that in mind when doling out rewards. Pure RNG or a punishingly expensive grind, not both. Let players feel like they're actually making progress.
Wait. So you only want two perks and you don't feel rewarded by blood points which is the only reward? Then, not to be rude, but what do you play for? Once you get the perks you want, what then if the only reward for finishing a match is more bloodpoints. But you won't really need them aside from add-ons for killer, but even then you'll still be spending large amounts on things you don't want because not every add-on is useful.
The journey is the entire point, don't call it human nature to say it's overshadowed. I don't read the last page of a book because I only care about the ending and I don't play a game dreading through it because I only want to see the end, I do it because I have a fun time with it. You may not feel rewarded, but I do. When I come out of a BPS lobby with tons of blood points, I feel excited about the levels I'm going to gain from it.

They're not confused, and I think you missed their entire point. They're talking about how grindy this game is, and how unrealistic it is. I have around 2.2k hours in-game and I only have about 3 Prestige 3 killers with all the perks outta like the 20 other killers we have. I have a bit more survivors prestige 3 with all the perks. Besides that though, imagine how the newer players would react when playing this game for the first time right now, seeing 15+ survivors, and 15+ killers. That's absolutely insane, and to top it all off, not only are there I think 93 survivors perks, you have to get all of them to tier 3, and 90% of those are absolutely useless, same thing for the killer's perks. It's just absolutely insane and having 60+ perks for both sides along with perk tiers doesn't help one bit, especially when most of the perks don't even make a difference when they are tier 3'd.
I don't think they're confused, I said I am confused.
You have 3 P3 killers: You reset your entire progress THREE times on each killers to reach that point and still made it there again.
If a new player wants to start and get ALL of the perks and teachables for every single survivor and killer, then yes that will be quite the grind. A self imposed grind. Like you said, 90% of the perks are useless so why would you put yourself through the extra of unlocking those teachables? There are only 13 non teachable perks on each side. If you're choosing to challenge yourself by grinding out every single one of them for every single character, that's one thing. But it's not something a new or even MOST players try to do

My friend just got the game on Switch. We don't want every single thing. We want one perk on one killer. First we had top level up a killer we hate to unlock the teachable. Now we are trying to get that perk on our killer. It is taking forever. We don't have anything to help with the grind, and Bloodweb after Bloodweb only has perks we don't want even though there's only one unlocked teachable.
This game's grind and RNG-dependent progression system would each be bad on their own, but combined they are absolutely miserable.
Iirc there are only 13 perks in the game that aren't killer specific. It would take you an absolute max of 39 levels before the perk is guaranteed to show up which isn't counting when multiple perks show up at once (someone check my math there)
It sounds like you just don't want to play the game without that specific perk, and trust me I understand. I was like that with Premonition. But at what point does it stop being a "grind" for you and not just playing the game?
Granted, you want one perk to complete your build, and again, I FEEL that. But within those 39 levels, you're also getting and leveling up the other 3 perks in your build.

If it was 8 M1 normal hits, then sure. But these are hits that you would not be getting as another killer. If I'm playing Trapper, I can't hit people over pallets or through windows at a distance. I still have to close that gap, or succeed in a mindgame, or whatever. Nemesis can hit survivors quickly and pretty simply if you've got the aim at any vault. The bonus hit thing, I think, is meant to be the "counterplay" to that. Give survivors 8 chances to ignore Nemesis's strongest ability to buy time.
Granted I think that's pissssss poor game design. It's not fun from either side. For Nemesis, it feels bad to get a hit and not feel rewarded (although you do get your tier up), and for the survivor it sucks that the main counterplay is just an arbitrary are you or are you not infected, which is a resource that can run out (or more likely be wasted by bad teammates who just vaccinate immediately every time). Definitely think this killer needed more time in the oven, but lol, which killer doesn't at this point?
I can understand why my original statement sounded insane tho :( my b. Hope I explained a bit better.
I get you, but that means he has to stay as an M1 killer and has no traps to chomp people.
Trapper can't, you're right. Nurse, Plague, Huntress, Deathslinger and Pyramid Head can and do the exact same thing but you get injured. Trickster can't because he's a bum.
Trying to loop or vault without staying out of their extended range gets you a paddling. He's most comparable to Pyramid Head because any hit Nemesis gets, PH could likely get too but with damage.
100% agree that he needs more time in the oven though. Chuck Trickster in there with him!

DBD is the only game I know that punishes your grinding and purchasing DLC with more grinding. It's honestly ridiculous.
And with this chapter, all I've wanted is to get Bond on Jill but it hasn't been showing up so I had to grind out nearly 6 full pages of purple perks to get it to appear. I had to spend like 2 million blood points on Nemesis to get BBQ tier 1 to appear. This is insane. I'm really not sure how many more chapter releases I can put up with this.
Quite literally every MMO in the world gives you more grind to do when you buy a DLC.
-
@FeminineSlime said:
He's just kind of another No Loops For You killer, which are usually pretty boring to play against because the counterplay is running away ASAP. At least with Huntress, if you can predict her throw and juke it, she's still a slow killer overall so she can't just be on you right away. Nemesis is standard speed and any jukes you try to do just give him the time he needs to catch up to you. And zombies are frustrating because they are RNG. (I don't mind if he herds me towards one during chase, I think that's more fun honestly. But when they're just arbitrarily There it's just annoying and random.) Maybe he'll be more fun to play against eventually but right now he just feels cheap at loops which is like.. u know... the main fun part of survivor...
The "three hits to down" argument is a little weak to me. At -most-, you have to land eight total hits extra, and then that never matters again. (Once for each survivor by default, and then once for each potential vaccine. Can be less if survivors don't care, or if zombies get hits.) If vaccines were infinite and respawned as plague fountains do, then yeah, that would be really annoying. And that's only for M2. Can always use the m2 zoning to land a punch. All that said, I feel like the vaccine mechanic is half-baked AF and feels tacked on.
8 total hits extra is INSANE. No other killer has to hit you potentially 8 more times than normal. I honestly can't understand how you find that a weak argument.

I think they might want to keep real life tragedies out.
But I've really been hoping for a killer that uses spiders. Or bees. Queen Bee killer.
-
Maybe I've just been going against piss poor Nemesis players, but if I get hit by the tentacle it's basically a free escape. That's if, because I dodge or pallet block a lot if I can. I've honestly been caught by more straight up face punches than tentacle strikes.
I don't get how you thing he's any different than other ranged killers. Huntress and Deathslinger with aim, or even PH with a good sense of timing would do the same to you in every situation. Except with them, you don't get a speed boost.

And also the fact that there are 10 new characters released every year aka 30 new perks, makes the grind harder and harder for newer players or people that dont have 10+ hours a week to dedicate to dbd.
New players don't have every single character and new set of perks. The grind will only be hard if they are a completionist like you and want every single perk regardless of whether they'll use it or not.
And at that point, it's a self imposed grind. I play sparingly and still have every perk I want to use on a P3 Felix You may as well complain about cosmetics being a grind to get at that point.
-
I personally think both are pretty poor. I hate the Trickster from the ground up, but there's no denying he has pretty good perks.
The Twins, on the other hand, have very meh perks but have a more interesting power.
Either way, it's scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Doctor Doctor! I have pretty poor eyesight, and am very secretly sadistic as all hell so he fit me like a very statically charged glove.

I main about 6 survivors and try and mix around the killers i play.
I dont have more then half the Tier 3 perks unlocked for any of them. Its crazy to have that many hours and still having to grind so hard is dumb.
If i main’d 4 or 5 killers maybe id have the perk list completed but i like the variety.
Okay, I'm confused here. You're upset because you don't have all the perks for every one of the considerable amount of characters you use in the two years you've played? When new perks and characters are still coming out that you're leveling and you've prestiged at least one 3 times AKA reset them all and all they had?
Aaand you're somehow upset that this means you don't have everything?
-
This doesn't really look like the actor. The Quentin in game we have doesn't either, unless his face was swollen and shriveled at the same time
-
Making the game worse for people that just want to play with your friends is almost a guarantee that they'll just look for another game instead. I know I would.
-
Bubba: His sweep is too long, can go around corners and he loses basically no speed revving or using it. It's also such a mind game now that when other survivors hear it, they have a panic attack and yorokobe into a locker instead of doing gens.
Wraith: I just suck against him. He's fast, his add-on can have a wall hack so trying to stealth is a mug's game, and unless you have sprint burst then that first hit is guaranteed.
Spirit: Just like Wraith, a good one guarantees the first hit. On a gen? Reappear and smack. Cleansing totem? Show up and slap. Trying to mindgame? She's a ghost, she INVENTED mind games.
Nemesis: Zombies are clingier than my ex and you have no way to get rid of them sometimes and they have no attack recovery. Also for some reason, my team does the Bubba thing and panic.
Pig: Why tunnel someone that already has a trap? What's the point of using it then? Gens are popping off like pogs and their timer isn't going down because you're chasing them straight off the hook. It's not a good idea, Amanda
-
I find in every game, the higher but not highest rank seems to be the most toxic. So maybe purple ranks? The reason is because they're high enough to be a decent rank to inflate their ego, but not skilled enough to move past it and are stuck there getting frustrated and blaming everyone else that they can't move up.

Yea but they still could do the same for the other perks. Everyone who already had them get to keep them.
Only new players would need to unlock them but it would still reduce the grind since its still atleast 3 perks less per character.
But I LIKE some of those. I LIKE Sloppy Butcher and Bitter Murmer. I see NOED and Iron Grasp a surprising amount. I used to love unrelenting.
I want new perks that fit new killers. The perks imo haven't been the problem, it's the powers. The past three or four have been so boring to me that I don't want to play them.

- I didn't leave my team for dead they played like idiots and gave the demo 3 easy kills. I wasn't going to hand him number 4.
- the hatch was on the other side of the map from me so it was 50/50 if I found it.
- the killer only found me because I was opening a gate, my only other option. If NOED wasn't there I would have had it open and with a lucky dodge might have made it out.
I'm not upset at the killer for killing me. I'm simply voicing an opinion about a perk. If a killer runs it, that's their choice. I don't have to like it.
I can't help but notice a pattern here. Since I play both sides I see it all the time. A survivor complains about a perk or killer behavior it's
"Well you screwed up"
"Should have done this"
"shouldn't have done that"
"you left your team for dead"
A killer complains about underhanded survivor behavior or a perk they have
"It's a tactic to win"
"just run this perk"
"don't do this then"
"you're just trash"
This community has such a bad double standard. I'm used to it by now but I still don't like it. what's wrong with us?
Playing like a complete ass and taking advantage of everything you can do stop the killer Makes you a good survivor. If a killer does the same thing and completely wipes a team of survivors? well they're just trash, the worst killer ever and too OP.
I know I've said those things in the past myself but after playing as both killer and survivor for a while I know how counter productive it is.
He found and hit you. Unless the gate was outright open, I'm pretty sure you were going down man.

Why do you consider the artificial world to be your existence? Does life fail to trigger these happy tunes of your existence? Is life emotionally starving? Why are there not enough things that can help to feel something truly satisfying?
Do you call these questions stupid since the answer is obvious? Is it really that simple? Or the simplicity of such feelings is a way to avoid the realization of something deeper? Are you feared to look into that deepness?
Okay but: Why do you ask stupid questions?

They should've get a cop out just because they bring in an instant win item under certain conditions.
It's not an instant win if it's under certain conditions. You can clearly see when they bring a key into the match and plan for it.
You let yourself get cocky because they 3 genned and you were winning. You could've slugged the 4th guy until you found the key bearer if you didn't have Franklin's.

Fun? What's fun? Isn't life supposed to be fun by itself? Why do you find fun somewhere there? Is it the lack of emotions that you try to get artificially? Aren't we supposed to be satisfied with our existence?
Fun is a delightful time. I am alive, Dbd is here in my house to play, therefore it is a part of my life. Emotions aren't artificial. If the game is in my existence and I am enjoying it, then I am satisfied with my existence.
Back to my question: Why do you ask stupid questions?

Okay, but here's the problem: I WANT new perks. People are less likely to buy a killer if they just use recycled perks.
Not to mention the uproar that'll be caused if you ask someone to pay for a perk they already had before it was taken away.

What? I thought the penalty was off.

Because I have fun playing the game. Why do YOU ask stupid questions?

Right, blame console players. This never happened before crossplay.
Sigh.

@CoalTower max one kill? Where is the logic here? If you catch one survivor, around 2 gens should be done. the decent team will not rescue the hooked survivor but rather do generators. Then, the exits are powered. You can catch someone with noed and facecamp. This gives 2 kills. Where are your counter arguments for this? This means at least 2 kills.
@Pulsar the goal of the game is not to pip. It is to kill (if you are a killer). It is even written in the name of the role "killer", not "pipper". Emblem system is just a bunch of garbage the devs threw together.
There are four survivors. Against a competent team with a competent looper, 3 gens will be done instead of two, and the last 2 will pop before the hook timer runs out.
They can either: Find and cleanse your NOED totem, if the extra one didn't do bones in the first place
Rescue the survivor while you go chase another
And sometimes both.

DH would be fine if it couldn't be used to make up distance, and had a net neutral speed increase.
Basically after using DH and completing your forward 'dodge', you get slowed for just long enough to account for the increased distance. It can still be timed to evade a hit, but if you use it out in the open, or to gain distance on a loop you messed up, the killer can still catch up a couple seconds later instead of giving you another 20 second lead.
It would become kinda useless then. If you're still moving at the same speed, the only time you really bought was the amount of time for their basic attack cooldown
