  • Personally, I just want 1:better way to get them off. If you don't have a flashlight and the pallets are broken, then sucks for you! Maybe like a teamwork thing were someone can crouch up behind them and splatter their heads.

2: Attack cool down. I had to get someone off the hook because the killer would be here soon, the zombie hit me twice and still downed the unhooked person. All in the time it takes for the unhook animation.

  • It's a pvp game. It happens like that sometimes.

Temple is also gone? I swear I played in it, maybe I'm having some brain farts or something right now.

If it is, it was probably just today or yesterday that it happened. I saw clips of Nemesis getting caught between the stairs and doorway of the temple because he too big

False advertising when they released the map with DLC. Please stop defending them...

That's not what false advertising is, I suggest you learn what it means. The map is in game, it was playable and played by people but is currently blocked pending further fixes. There's plenty of things to stomp on the devs for, it was however not false advertising.

  • @mrgrm00 said:

We got a new DLC but not all of the DLC. When will we get the Raccoon City Map and why can't we pick maps instead of get them at random or by using offerings?

The DLC doesn't include the map, so you didn't get cheated out of anything.

The very obvious and glaring reason that you can't pick the map, is because some killers or survivors work FAR better in some maps than others. Offerings are at least limited, one use items that don't even actually guarantee the specific map.

  • @th3 said:

Well if anything I'd like the killers to just not see the names of the players. It really only helps those players who want to preemptively harass other players.

You have no clue how many times my female friends have been sent a message before the match from the killer saying that they'll spare them. It drives me mad.

  • I hate topics like this. Maybe some people are biased and have a double standard, but the general consensus is that ALL toxicity is bad. Stop trying to demonize one side as worse than the other. Being toxic as either role should be shamed, and I 100% don't see anyone that thinks otherwise.

Know what I hear the most? "(Other side) did it to me, so why shouldn't I do it?" Which is a hilariously childish mindset.

  • All-Kill was the chapter with the ineffective pallet stuns and horrible desync, right?

Well honestly, I still give it to Legion's patch for the worst. AKA the update that made me stop playing

  • Saying she takes no skill is false, it's just that her skill floor is fairly low.

I bought the dlc when it came out for haunted grounds and never touched her until two nights ago when I realized she had 15 ghastly gateau from the anniversary.

She can get around the map insanely fast with the right add ons. Survivors kept getting away from me because I don't have Stridor, but I did fairly well for having never used her before. The Clown takes less skill than she does imo

  • My favorite was when I made him vault and dropped it while I used Lithe.

Boy was he angry with me

  • I'm sorry that happened to you. Yes, I've had a few games recently too where it happened over and over.

Basically, what I call tunneling is after the first hook and the killer exclusively just chases me right down until I die on the hook. Doesn't chase anyone else, just looks for me. Pig is actually one of the worst people about this, I find.

Nothing to do but equip DS and hope for an escape or to waste more time.

  • He doesn't need a nerf. If he beats you up, Plague and Pyramid Head probably do too.

Only nerf I'd actually be okay with is to his zombies.

  • I would like more blood points per match or more scoring events. I don't feel like it's a "grind" because it isn't my end goal, but lots of killers play better with ad-ons and I don't get as many blood points if I can't afford to keep replacing them. It's a vicious cycle.

  • Because I remember when WGLF first released. It was a horrible experience and it soured me on the perk. I have to imagine I'm not the only one that still cringes in fear when I see a David running to unhook me.

  • Map: The game.

Chapter: Plague, probably. Can't think of the survivor but that means they don't have useful perks for me. Hopefully it's Jane.

    Perk: BBQ.

    Mechanic: Looping/infinite loops.

The killers always came after me, so it’s a lot of time the killer lost moving around the map. I can’t remember the last time Twins killed me

Same, but for me that's a combination of not playing against very many and being stealthy against Victor. Not my own actual skill and I think a good pair of Twins would turn me into tasty flan

But if the killer goes after you, you waste a lot of time because the killer needs to go to your location, and if she goes after another surv she’s a m1 killer

An M1 killer in what is now a 3v1 situation? I'll take it.

  • Not only are they bad, they're imbalanced. Waited 8 minutes for a game to try out a new killer, had a red rank, a purple and two rank 18s. Bizarre times

  • Because hard fighting coordinated survivors are a rarity and often make killers DC instead. If DC rates really aren't counted, that would explain a lot.

Normally I'd agree, but just wanting to punish camping in such a manner is simply removing player agency.

Camping removes player agency for the camped individual. The person can still camp, that's their choice. That's their agency. I'm not saying make it impossible, just make it even worse to do.

Ah, if we're talking about Nemmy after a post-contamination speed boost is removed, that's a pretty big buff and I would agree he'd be much better after that. Feels like that's the biggest thing shooting him in the foot right now. I'd definitely agree that 2/3 of the roster would not be better than him if that change went through. I guess I should've just simplified my wall of text to just say that the speed boost is what's holding Nemmy back imo. Removing that would really make him much much better

Doc I feel is a bit underrated. Currently on a 20ish game win streak with him. You can pretty much get full madness with 4 shocks, which happens pretty quickly around a loop. As far as anti-loop goes, dedicated servers kind of make it so that you almost never prevent a vault or pallet drop, but it works out well anyways because then they'll be stuck on one side and you can either go around to get a hit, or at the least, zone them out and pallet break. If they don't drop the pallet, they will eventually go down, it's just a matter of time. It's true that lockers will pretty much hard counter the static blast but it's still wasting time if they're going to hide in lockers, so it's not a net loss overall either way. First static blast of the game is pretty much a more useful version of Lethal Pursuer if you have a rough idea of spawn locations on maps already

True true, I forgot about setup killers. Agreed on pig as well. Does suck when you completely miss the first static blast as doc but that's pretty rare in my experience

Oh I'm not putting down the Doc at all! He's my main killer. It's why I never put much stock in tier lists when I could reliably fight red ranks as the Doctor (I'm actually a fairly bad killer, too) and usually end up with majority kills and even a 4k last I tried. My argument is always that I don't see him as underpowered or overpowered, he's just really annoying.

That being said, he is the sole reason The Game needs to be removed. Agitation + Starstruck + Fixated + Iron Maiden on the game is some BS.

At the same time, staying on a gen and letting the timer drain runs the risk of actually being against a good Killer getting a Hook and circling back, or a Proxying Killer being able to shove Survivors off to force the 2nd stage after getting in hits/a down. And yes, of course, Kindred. However having a perk requirement isn't the best decision, nor would Kindred basekit be a good decision based on the amount of extra information it gives

Give Survivors a method of signaling "Help Me!" or "It's Here!" while on Hook.

Survivor lack of communication is part of the game. I'd personally rather just a punish for camping rather than giving more ways to communicate. But that's just me.

Also, Kindred is invaluable for solo survivor imo. Really glad they buffed it.

  • I've noticed literally no difference other than the fact that I was given a hatch last night. That's it. Same amount of moris, tunneling and camping as always. Solo and swf if that makes a difference.

I'm talking about going for the Unhook in general, not healing afterward. That's more of an argument for taking the time to hide n' heal. I'm referring to the ambiguity right after Hook, where you can't really tell if the Hooked Survivor is signaling "Unhook me", or "Killer's Camping" (or simply doing nothing). And you might as well just juice the Survivors Sacrifice timer while on a Gen until you actually figure it out by another Survivor getting Injured, or the Timer getting really close to stage 2. (Or being close to the Hook in the first place)

Sure, a Patrolling Killer will be able to put pressure on another Survivor/Gen, but if the other two are sitting hard on a Gen until someone is shown as in chase/or being Injured, that's just time loaded into pumping gens instead of only one Survivor on a Gen and the other moving in for the Unhook.

Kindred. But also the fact that the survivors don't want to go for the hook is just an individual decision. They are supposed to be doing gens and taking the risk of the save when they know it's not safe is just not the smartest decision to make. Even then, I don't see how it's a problem. They will eventually have to leave to unhook the Surv if they don't want him to die or go into second phase. Going for the unhook early is far more risky than staying on your gen, because you have time before he hits second phase. Removing two survivors from gens at once is a good thing. You are cutting their effectiveness in half while also furthering your own objective.

Alright, let's quickly look at killers weaker than him. Trapper/Legion/Trickster/Pig/Myers/Clown/Ghostface. I think we can all agree Nemmy is better than them, at least

General consensus seems to be that S and A tier killers are leagues above Nemmy too. So let's ignore Nurse/Spirit/Blight/Hag/Oni/PH/Huntress/Twins. That's 8 killers better than him

So what's left is Freddy/Wraith/Bubba/Doctor/Plague/Billy/Slinger/Demo. We could be here for hours talking this, so I'll just make some quick points:

Demo - can shred pallets slightly better, has much better zoning, and has roughly the same range with his shred. Can hit much easier (not a tiny hitbox). Does not require 3 hits to down. Portals are Ok-ish at times

Slinger - I never played him so I can't really comment

Billy - Sad chainsaw boy isn't as good as he used to be. Map mobility is still great though, as is the occasional insta-down

Plague - Infection is 100 times better than contamination, and you only need to get a small bit on them. Downs typically require one hit rather than 3. Ranged ability is objectively leagues better, but time limited

Doctor - Far better tracking, passive slowdown caused by madness tier 3 if used properly, better anti-loop. He's pretty basic, but doesn't require 3 hits to down

Bubba - Pallet shredding monster with an insta-down. Windows can be a problem but both he and Nemmy require you to be close to the survivor to do damage, and Bubba in close range is waaaaay more dangerous than Nemmy

Wraith - Map mobility now is crazy good, and post-uncloak lunge is a pretty solid anti-loop tool. Combine that with the mangled add-on and MYC, Nemmy is nowhere near as lethal and difficult to play around. Wraith can almost always get a first hit for "free"

Freddy - he's whatever but gen teleporting map mobility is still solid and snares are better anti-loop than tentacle

That's 16 killers that Nemmy is worse than, imo. 2/3 of the killer roster. You might be seeing a common trend here - none of these other killers require 3 hits to down.

One other point - honest question, which of these killers has a worse early game than Nemmy? Oni and Myers would be the only ones I can think of, and Oni has plenty to compensate for that later on

Let's break it down: I should start this by saying this is written with the confidence that his speed boost on infection will be done away with.

Demo: Honestly don't know as I rarely play against him and never played as him.

Slinger: Slower movements speed, dropping a pallet early means he CAN take 3 hits to down and also stun himself doing it. No map pressure.

Doctor: Better tracking? Absolutely. However it takes shocks, can't destroy pallets quickly so I'm not seeing how it's a "better anti-loop." He's also very easily deprived of his tracking with either one perk or a locker.

Billy: All he has is mobility and insta down, which is pretty map dependent.

Plague: Probably slightly better but that's only because his infect gives speed boost. I'd rate them the same when that's fixed. If they don't cleanse, she has no ranged unless add-ons and it can take her 3 hits since her non powered puke counts as one and isn't an immediate injury.

    Bubba: Probably, yeah.

Wraith has mobility and thus map pressure, but a meh anti-loop without the right add-ons. You know he's basically just a fast and stealthy M1 killer.

Freddy: Snares are not a better anti-loop, they only affect sleeping targets and require time to set. Someone can still trigger a snare and keep the loop up. He has good slowdown and pressure by teleports though.

His biggest problem is the speed boost on initial infection, because without that he's much better. Then it would be no different from Plague puke or Doc shock.

As for worse early game: Trapper, Ghostface, Haaag? Pig is a mix imo, early game can either go really well or really badly. Deathslinger (slow movement speed) Doctor can be really bad if you stupid your static blast and find no one. But yeah, his early game is basically just the same as Oni.

I'm talking about the time period between when the Killer is running off to the first gen on their Patrol after unhook (information perks) and the first Damage instance, and the time a Survivor without an info tool spends on a gen when they would otherwise, with the same information provided by an info source as you mention, have been moving to the Hook already. Generally speaking between 15-30s. The gen progress taking priority over Survivor state reset. And how this promotes gen focus and the increased effectiveness of gen regression perks.

If a survivor stays injured, they're easier to find and only one shot from a kill. That's the tradeoff. Camping promotes gen focus and is easy to see with a perk like Kindred. That's why you are supposed to put pressure on generators.

Gen regression or blocking perks are because gens are done really fast. Which is maybe a problem but I'm not sure adding more time to them will be balanced.

  • Because unless the survivor is looping the hook, which they usually don't in my games, then camping is punished.

If you say survivors loop hooks, maybe they do in your game. Then nothing changes. When they don't do that, something does change. It's that simple.

Just loop around small objects. The collision in DBD is pretty obnoxious when it comes to trees, tires, fire barrels, etc. Bubba will often bonk on the hit capsule of the small object and go into a tantrum. If you're in an open area though then you need to just run towards anything that is gonna force him to have to turn.

I feel like a lot of people try to approach dealing with Bubba like they would deal with Hillbilly and often want the same limitations to be put on Bubba. Don't fight him on his terms which is running in a straight line. Force him to follow you into cluttered areas enough and he will have to m1 or walk away. You will get some mad lads and lasses that will still try and saw you in high bonk chance area. In those situations you can only hope that bonk and you make distance.

Also stop trying flashlight blind Bubbas when they tantrum if you're doing that. It's mean and you're risking getting sawed by his flailing.

I admit I'm pretty bad at it, but let me tell you what happened to me yesterday. Hawkins Lab against a Bubba and he found me because of BBQ (didn't know which killer it was at the time.) I not get him off me. First attempt was turning a corner as he started his sweep, he was able to make the turn and catch me still.

Next attempt was running to find a window/vault. When I found one, he was so close behind me the entire time and revving, that he still hit me through the vault.

Final time (and I wish I remembered to record this) I ran from him through SIX pallets. I counted! Stunned him 3 times (but while he was chainsawing so basically no effect) and he never got up off of me. I was never able to break los. He only gave up on me because I vaulted a window and Nea ran into him. I'm not exaggerating the numbers here either.

There is a reason why he is almost never considered a high-tier Killer except by noobs.

An e-sports mindset is the optimization of Objective completion. So, yes, it is. It's not necessarily a bad thing, unless you complain about it in such a way as to be a hypocrite. (regarding Camping/Tunneling/Gen prioritization)

The question here is if you like that (or are at least impartial). If you do, no further arguments from me. If you don't, then we can discuss.

I simply find that the optimal approach for each of these Objectives is quite literally to remove as much gameplay from the other side as possible: As a Survivor, get Gens done as fast as possible or use a Key, and as Killer, try to get a single Survivor out as fast as possible, get a 4-man slug.

And that part of what contributes to that is Survivors by default having little information on if a Safe unhook is possible. Now, I don't think it should be given freely, but at the moment the Hooked Survivor waving their arms to signal the Killer is leaving/there is so informal of an approach that it's generally useless.

Calling it an e-sports mindset is still incorrect. Or just a needless and derogatory term, because it's literally what you're supposed to be doing. It'd be like if we were playing Rocket League and you said I had an e-sports mindset because I tried to get a goal. So I suggest you maybe not rely on that term to brush off relevant rebuttals.

Also, Kindred. Premonition. Even a broken key with an add-on can give that information. The thing is, you as the killer can not tell when they have it. You could be sitting there camping complaining about "e-sports mindsets" when really they could have just gathered the information necessary to deem that you're camping and it's a trap.

You're getting away from my actual problem with your initial response: You think it's hurting a killer that is bad at what a killer should do. Can you not see how nonsensical it is? That's like saying a survivor getting chased is hurting the survivor not great at hiding. Or getting downed is hurting a survivor not great at fleeing. Or skill checks are hurting survivors not great at skill checks. These are all areas you are SUPPOSED to improve at. You can not improve at being camped.

  • @musstang62 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2288585#Comment_2288585

I think that's kind of missing the point though. If you're good at playing killer in general, you can still manage to do ok with garbage killers like legion and trapper

If you're doing well with Nemesis, you'd do much better by picking 2/3 of the killer roster instead. It's not that it's impossible to win with him - it's that he sucks when compared to the bulk of the roster

Okay but how? How are two thirds outright better than him? He has a ranged attacked, automatic, near unstoppable map pressure that can either waste time or pallets and he gets stronger as the game progresses. In the case of comparing to most other killers, better is a subjective opinion instead of objective.

  • It's more along the lines that Ghostface just isn't very good. I always called him a poor man's Myers

  • Spirit is never fun, especially if you don't have Spine Chill. But honestly, mine is Wraith. I HATE Wraith and it's not that he's OP or anything, I just suck royally against him.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2288570#Comment_2288570

Yeah, see. there's that e-sports mindset Survivors are complaining about.

Listen, Tunneling and Camping are just as viable and necessary as sitting and spinning on a gen. You do not get to complain about only one.

I'm glad that it's a choice for Survivors/Killers. But it's clearly not an interesting one for either side.

It's apples and oranges. You're supposed to do gens, it's what the survivor goal is. Multiple gens. Killer goal is to hook and kill the survivors. Multiple survivors.

Unless the killer IS camping, then you aren't just "sitting and spinning" on a gen. The killer should be checking them, chasing you off of it and defending them so you don't have a chance to get out. This isn't an "e-sports" mindset, it's the literal objective of the game.

  • I think he's a bit too powerful. I'd maybe slow him down during the chainsaw charging or reduce his ability to turn while doing it. In maps without a lot of vaults, he's basically impossible to get off of your rear.

  • Remove the speed boost on his non damaging tentacle strike and give survivors another way to deal with zombies. Like being able to splatter them if you sneak up from behind.

Conditioning Survivors to always sit on a Gen when they could be moving to heal a Survivor and offsetting time into more interactive aspects of the game.

You said it hurts killers that don't camp if they aren't that great of doing the one thing they're supposed to do. Mate, if a killer isn't great at being a killer, the thing that's hurting them is that they aren't great at being a killer.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2288485#Comment_2288485

Right, but why gather any information in the first place?

Genrush is optimal. Waiting for some other Surv to get hit before moving to Hook is optimal. You mention that waving is no longer very clear, which is correct. So basically: Sitting on a Gen until the Killer comes to you, or someone else gets Injured is the optimal strategy as Solo.

Which is basically hurting Killers that don't camp if they're not that great at getting into a chase/finding a Survivor, and is the optimal strategy against Killers that do camp.

This, to me, seems a bit problematic.

Hurting a killer that's not great at doing what the killer is literally supposed to be doing?

  • Okay, then Calm Spirit shouldn't affect the Doctor. And BBQ should work through lockers. Oh! And Pyramid should be able to apply his torment to you while you're downed!

timer goes back to normal = killer knows for a fact someone is around and camps while looking for them.

survivors already loop around the hook, which is worse for the hooked.

Killer would only know that if he was already camping or if he could tell the timer was moving slower. Him going to find another survivor will at the very least stop the face camp. Literally nothing would change in that scenario.

  • Alright, that's too much. This is what finally made me make an account. The type of replies here, their bias and outright refusal to listen.

Hi, and welcome to Dbd btw, Lucky. I'd like to say I play Killer and Survivor both pretty regularly and have reached the top as both. When you've got friends and you're talking to each other, or become a really highly skilled Surv, you realize it's actually survivor sided. That's because "looping" is a thing and while I don't do it because I find it boring, horrible design and just unfun on both sides, some loops are literally impossible to be caught at unless you make a mistake.

Dunno how to quote multiple people properly yet, but are some of you freaking serious? Camping is absolutely a problem, especially if you're caught quickly. I assume you turned on the game to play, not sit staring at the killer on the hook. I agree it's selfish to off yourself or DC, but I honestly can't blame people because there is NOTHING fun about it.

To the people saying the hook idea has been tried already: Where exactly was the abuse wherein the timer returns to normal when a survivor is ALSO in the vicinity? This stops the abuse and gives the killer more incentive not to camp.

Sometimes, you can take being camped as a moment of pride, sure. But when it's 30 seconds into the game and you get surprised by a Tinkerer Bubba and face camped, that's not fun. Getting yanked off in front of the killer to immediately go down again, is not fun. This is a new player, this is the target audience developers are supposed to be appealing to. Telling them to just "git gud" or deal with it when it's blatantly NOT FUN is not how a game should operate.
