Ok but bouncing your pixelated ass up and down in the air is a far cry from slurs. Like, its a horrible comparison. They arent even close.
And yeah, if you arent offended by something who cares?
They're both done with the intention to upset you, that's the clear comparison. The slurs are just a bunch of pixelated letters that only give as much meaning as you want them to, if you want to oversimplify it that much.
I see. I was just curious to your stance on it. Personally, I'd rather the behavior not be around at all. Even if it doesn't affect me, there's someone out there it will get to and make their day worse.

I was high on hype during the PTB and put 5 days in playing Nemesis, it was the most excited I'd been about a chapter since the Freddy chapter, ironically. In live I've played him for a day or two and just feel kinda bored.
Balance opinions aside, wether you think he needs nerfs or buffs, anyone just find the power kind of boring and uninteresting?
There's no real challenge to using the whip, and it doesn't feel really satisfying to hit with from a visual/audio feedback perspective. It gets old kinda quickly. He just feels like -another- "hybrid" killer. Which has been a trend in the last year or two outside of the more unique killers like Twins (who are boring for a whole other list of reasons).
I feel like I'm only enjoying him for the same reason I enjoy Freddy. The power itself isn't very fun to use, the fun comes from me playing as Nemesis. And on the survivor side I'm kinda just finding him annoying, as I play Solo, and while I don't think he's top tier or OP by any means, you'll only win if your teammates know how to hold Shift + W and use vaccines (most don't).
I dunno, maybe its just me but starting from Deathslinger's release it feels like every killer or so has just been a "meh" hybrid or objectively worse version of an existing killer.
Legitimate question: Who are Pyramid Head and Blight worse version or hybrids of?

Yeah but does that mean? "Toxic behaviour" if it doesnt even upset you why complain?
Because it's done, very likely, with the intention to upset you. It being successful or not doesn't really have to matter.
Lets take it this way: If in the endgame chat, someone started slinging some really rough slurs at you then is it okay for them to do that just because you personally aren't offended by it?

Most of them. The scream is always my least favorite part (ironically, I play Doctor) but I always have to slip my headphones off when I go for a hook. Literally screaming right in my ear, mate.

It doesn’t even matter what I personally think.
it just IS griefing. It is defined as such by the creators of the game. You are the wall here not accepting a fact.
Great for you. I just don't care anymore.

nope, BHVR can’t make rules for platform messages or take action on these.
and again, no one said you should let anyone go if you can hook them. But you are deliberately choosing someone because of an LGBTQ+ charm over Someone without the charm under any other circumstances which is the problem here. It’s not you killing a survivor or letting another go. It you targeting someone because of something like this.
the multiple matches are just necessary to confirm that you are in fact breaking the rules. Griefing in one single match is possible, but it’s not reportable as no one has proof. If you however explicitly stated after one single match that you killed a survivor because the charm and let another survivor go without the charm (which is literally what you described) that is considered griefing.
Again, I do it all the time without the char but for different reasons. Multiple people, even ALL the survivors could have the charm. Then I find another reason to make someone the goal.
Yet again, I didn't LET him go, he got away. If I could kill both, I would. But honestly, like I said it's like talking to a brick wall. One that gets power washed every 10 minutes. If you think it's griefing, cool. Great for you. I just don't care.

Remember that some of these could be legitimate crashes. But yes, the quitters are out of control right now. It's annoying

You know what. If you are so certain about this, why don’t you start to write your reasoning why you targeted someone specifically in the end game chat? If you are doing nothing against any rules that should not be a problem right?
If I had an end game chat, sure. However, I play on PlayStation so the best I can do is PS message them that. Will that make you happy?

It can be considered griefing if it is the very same player in multiple matches.
and it is considered griefing if your reason for it I racism, homophobia or something like that.
of course, not provable in your case. But still against the rules.
I'm not going to let a specific player go, just because I killed them last time. I'm playing functionally no different than any other game. They just had the misfortune of being against me again.

Thank you for proving their point.
And like I said, just having a preference on whom to kill isn't griefing if you play normally. If that's not the case, there's a long line of people that need to be banned.

You claimed you would under equal circumstances let the one without the charm go and always aim at the one with charm.
And you would do that with the two same people over and over in a row.
(it would be the same if someone switched the roles of the charm here btw)
your intention is to hang them, sure. But we both know you meant that in a way to let them have a worse experience. Otherwise you wouldn’t have used that survivor team and your saltiness over it as the reason for it.
Their experience never comes into my mind, it's about mine and how I want to target certain people. "So maybe don't put words in my mouth?" And it's not letting one go, it's just failing to catch both.
Keep trying to justify yourself. Maybe you can convince yourself that you're right.

I get your point, I do, but again we cannot let that guide how the game is designed, any player, killer or survivor, can completely ruin the game for the others, that is the nature of games you are playing with/against other players.
Survivors can just run around the map throwing every pallet, just because.
They could come to your gen and blow it up, intentionally, the entire time.
They could simply go afk right away, same as the killer.
If people want to ruin games, they can, really easily, but if you want to design the game around that fact you might as well delete it as you cannot actually do anything about that in the first place.
Yes, but there should not be any more ways added in. I think your idea may have some merit but I can't really agree with something that could screw over solos more, you know? And I want to agree, I just think the idea needs a little more work shopping is all

You admitted you did this in spite of those survivors that accused you of homophobia. You are doing this to ruin the experience of the ones wearing the charm, it doesn’t matter if they perceive it as such or not. That’s your intention.
i perfectly remember what you wrote. But I guess you don’t really remember that. And you just can’t admit that you don’t understand the concept of griefing in this game.
No, it's not to ruin their experience it's because I want to hang them. If intention is all that sets it apart, then you're wrong.
If you remembered what I said, then you wouldn't have claimed I let anyone go. You just can't admit that you're wrong, about that or about what griefing is.
Which is a rather unbecoming quality btw.

You are saying it yourself, both are equally vulnerable but you decide to grief someone you already targeted six times before? You are going to avoid one because they don’t wear a charm.
you pretty much described the perfect (theoretical) griefing scenario without using tunneling or camping but you fail to comprehend that.
i also never said you shouldn’t do this because they would feel salty. I just explained to you that it is purposefully griefing from your part. Personally I don’t care if you are doing that. If I was in that scenario with the charm I would even go out of my way that you have to take me over the other survivor.
The choice is going to be arbitrary no matter which you do. It could be because I respect the Adam more, or because I like his hair. You fail to comprehend that it's not griefing to kill someone in a normal game over and over.
Them feeling salty is the only thing that would count as ruining their experience, otherwise it's just being killed as usual when you were found by the killer.
-
Killer is only easier at the beginning when you have clueless survivors. It's potentially the harder of the two roles

7 times in a row (and even more so, every time all the time) even though there is another survivor. That is the problem.
don’t act like I am trying to say you should go out of your way and not kill someone/take the Chance. You are the one with double standards here.
Yes, because I can kill them. Both are in front of me, both are equally vulnerable. I'm not going to avoid one because they may feel salty about it.
There is no double standard for me. Stop using terms you don't know the meaning of.

I never said it counts as griefing if you kill ONE survivor over the other in one match.
you described it yourself. You will do this to a specific player multiple times in a row without any gameplay reasons. THAT is griefing.
and doing it only against survs with the charm is griefing as well. This was confirmed by the official Twitter account after they before that made a tweet that was not clearly worded.
you are the one not understanding the concept of griefing. Even though it was defined like that.
The specific player is in a situation where they would be killed. I, as a killer, take that chance. Just because they have the charm, doesn't mean I should ever NOT take the chance. You continue to fundamentally fail to grasp the concept.

yeah but with that attitude we might as well overhaul the entire game, heck we could give negative points for survivors who enable the killer to close the door.
Currently we have survivors already going for unsafe unhooks just with their BT to farm you for points and we are not getting the option to deny an unhook because...that would also....be toxic?
Idk I think with this game we should focus on survivors being a team, otherwise a lot of the discussion will have to be changed:
"DCing screws over the team.....yeah but we now have the opinion that the team consists of A-holes anyway so who cares"
We have to assume survivors play as a team, wanting to go back into the trial to get everyone else, that is the intended way of playing and where the fun comes from, so with that in mind and the option to give negative points to survivors who enable (intentional or not) for the killer to close an opened gate, I once again maintain that htis would be a great addition to this game.
But you are of course entitled to your opinion, lord knows we all dont agree on pretty much anything with this game.
While sometimes I'd love to kick people off, you said these people have BT. They could just legitimately be trying to save you or hook trade, but you misunderstood it as farming and kicked them off. Now you're both going to be hooked. It's a slippery slope and people can use it to legitimately punish kindness.
I don't think we should give survivors MORE ways to screw each other over. Your idea only enables it and still the person taunting gets an escape and the other people minding their own business get a closed door.

I understood perfectly fine.
you are in any case let the one without the charm live and kill the one with charm if you can kill only one and have the chance for any of the two.
of course you gotta make a fast decision, otherwise both get away.
what you fail to comprehend is that if you make the decision to always make the one with the charm have the ‚worse‘ experience, that is griefing. And you already admitted you would do this because out of spite against others that used the charm to falsely accuse you.
in the end - no one can stop you. You can’t even get reported for it as that theoretical scenario you described can’t play out that way in actual matches. You are fine, I am not calling you a horrible person either. Many people do this because of other certain cosmetics.
it’s just very weird to go out of your way to announce this publicly in the official forum and even try to defend this behavior. And then you are blaming one specific survivor team for it.
No, you didn't understand because you said I let someone survive. Own up to your mistakes.
You seriously think it counts as griefing because I killed one person over another? It's not. You can jump through all the hoops you want to claim it's griefing, it's not going to change the fact that it isn't. I admitted I hold grudges against several types of survivors for several types of things.
What's weird is for you to jump the gun and call it griefing when you can't understand the concept. I've never tried to defend the behavior "so maybe don't put words in my mouth?" I'll say it loud and proud again. Official forums, unofficial forums, bathroom walls and toilet stalls. I don't care.

If they are both down inside the exit are and you close the gate...then both escape...when you close the gate you force them out.
For the second: Yes if she goes out and does not run out instantly but waits to self care or whatever you can close the gate, we can always add a slight minimal delay on when the killer can close the gate after it has been opened by a survivor.
Just to make it clear again, the killer can close the gate WHEN a survivor is present inside the gate area and will by doing so force that survivor out, making them escape, BUT the door is now closed for other survivors left in the trial. (and this ends the silly Teabagging at the exit gate as the killer can just force people to leave as long as they are in the exit area.
OH you mean force them out as in to escape the trial? Not the exit area?
That's a horrible idea. That means someone can taunt and screw their teammates out of an open door. That doesn't punish the taunter, it punishes the people NOT taunting.
And if I want to force an escape right at the gates, I'll go hit them and enjoy my points.

Never said that. Again putting those words into my mouth.
but you are letting others live because of it. Because you want someone else to have a bad experience. And that over multiple matches towards one specific person.
since when is it normal gameplay for Killers to let specific survivors live?
i am saying you should treat survivors with and without charms equally, I never said you should let anyone live or escape. But you are actually doing that on purpose..
No I'm not. You yet again fail spectacularly at reading comprehension. I very specifically said that I would kill both if I could, but in the scenario I can only kill one. I am not letting anyone live.

Not sure what you mean by the first scenario, yes if 2 are slugged and crawl for the door and 1 player is in the exit door area, you would be able to walk up and close the door forcing the one in the area out and keeping the two who were crawling stuck infront of a closed door.
That is exactly why that is so interesting, that 1 player should have ran back into the level (taking a risk) to help the other two escape OR they should leave immidiatly preventing the killer from being able to lock the door.
on the second scenario, if a Nea is opening the door infront of you, and she runs into the exit area and does not leave, then yes, you can close the door and gain an advantage (unless the others are opening the other door in the meantime), the Nea can also choose to instandly run out, therebye taking away your ability to lock the door BUT now she is atleast out of the match so you can use that, the Nea can also choose to take a hit but run back into the match killing off the boring safety of the exit gate area.
I honestly think this would make the game a lot more tactical and interesting for everyone involved.
No, they're both down INSIDE the exit area. They were injured, opened the gate in front of me and got downed trying to run through. Since PH is ranged, I could just shut the gate and stop either from leaving. Your solution is: One of you stay behind and get killed so the other can leave? That's unfair.
For the second, you said close the gate like the hatch, which is instant. That means I can just wait at the switch for her to go run for the exit and immediately shunt her back out.
That isn't tactical, that's just unfair.

But you have said you do this to people wearing the charm because some of them are so entitled. How is that not aiming to ruin their experience?
you are doing it 7 times in a row after all.. it’s not a one match situation in your description. It is targeting.
And I do it to Claudettes because some of them are jerks. And Lauries. Or the ones with crass or childish usernames. Killing them as a killer without tunneling, camping or slugging is just PLAYING THE KILLER. In the situation, they are in my crosshairs and on death hook. You're saying I shouldn't kill them because I did last time? That's entitlement.

@Mooks said:

Yep, congrats, you just described a perfect griefing situation as far as I understood it. But it’s always a case by case situation. And it is very circumstantial in that theoretical situation so depending on what happened to the other survs etc it might not be considered griefing. But just with the info you have given it is..
(again, don’t worry -even though you never said you worried- it’s very unlikely for you to get reported for this with proof)
Then you need to look up what counts as griefing in the terms of the game. Hell, I'll report myself if this counts because I simply don't care. I shouldn't ever be forced to instead take Adam because someone feels targeted. Dbd clearly states that it's targeting specific people to ruin their gameplay experience. That ain't it.

aiming specifically specific players over multiple matches can still be griefing. I don’t know why you are always bringing up camping and tunneling. That’s not entirely what griefing is. And I didn’t accuse you, I tried to inform you that this kind of behavior may be considered griefing.
and you are aiming at completely innocent bystanders because there were some bad survs that maybe even just false flagged in this case. Have you considered they played you and they are themselves homophobic and just want to stirr up the community?
Also: don’t go up to high, the air is thin there :)
The example is this: Let's say you have the charm and your group of friends are playing with you. You and Adam are on death hook, both injured, both racing toward the open gate and I can only kill one. I choose you. This same scenario happens 7 times in a row, I always choose you. This is the type of thing I do when I aim for someone, and it doesn't count as griefing. It's just making a choice. If I can get both, I sure will. But if I can only choose one, it's just going to be my choice. Even if it's over a large amount of games, you can't expect the killer to just not choose you over someone else when the opportunity is there because you may feel targeted.
All survivors I aim at are technically innocent bystanders. Somebody may just like to play Claudette and not blend, but she's still hard for me to see. This particular Laurie didn't do anything to me, but I've got PTSD from being stabbed by them so much back in the day that I want to see her hang. Etc. When I'm a killer, I'm gonna try to kill you. You won't know my reason and it won't matter because it's no different than you getting killed by the other guy. No innocents harmed.
You didn't say "may be considered griefing" your first response was claiming I went out of my way to grief people. Go back and check it, you seem to have forgotten.
And the thin air is more than worth it for the view.

that’s not really ambiguously worded, sorry
also, take your own advice, you were the one calling me entitled etc instead of trying to get this sorted out civilized.
and sorry to disappoint you, but there are no tears, I was merely informing you that your implied behavior was breaking rules.
(also you seem to be pretty salty because of what those bad bad survs did to you after that match - yep I can go down to your level as well)
I do aim for them. I said aim for, not tunnel. Not camp. If two survivors are in the street; One that I'm aiming for due to whatever reason and one that I'm not, I will go for the former. You made a wild assumption and can't understand that.
Civil? So wrongfully accusing me of griefing and saying I'm no better than the complaining survs is civil in your book? And I bet a horse is a small animal in that book.
Yes, I am quite salty about what they said. That's why I hold a grudge. But don't worry, it's impossible for you to go down to my level when I'm far higher than you could ever be.

@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294455#Comment_2294455
Okay. I think you misunderstood me. So again:
i was talking about the course of multiple matches. Griefing is pretty much defined by targeting a specific player over multiple matches, just tunneling/camping someone -with or without charm- in one match is not breaking rules of course. Never said anything against that.
but if you happen to aim at one person in multiple matches and that can be considered griefing, doesn’t matter if they are wearing the charm or not.
otherwise it was also confirmed by the devs that it is considered griefing if you are specifically targeting people that wear the charm - which is what you implied in your first message here. Of course that is not easily to be proven so you don’t have to worry. And maybe you didn’t even mean it like that, but just judging by your one message, it is pretty much what you were saying, so maybe self reflect on your wording there..
Or maybe try asking more questions before making judgements and assumptions on a person you don't know from an ambiguously worded message? That's what I'd do, but then again, I don't expect much at this point.
Also, I was never worried about anything but your tears staining my good apron. Like I said at the very start: What I'm doing isn't griefing. You're just as bad as the other survs.
-
@BioX said:
I already said this a million times:
The killer should be able to close the exit doors (using the same handle as the survivors) in one go (like closing the hatch) IF a survivor is present in the exitgate area, forcing them out and having hte door now once again closed.
This poses a risk for those that stay there and heal in the safety of the exit door, and poses a risk for those who are not there while others are, it would make for much more interesting and tactical gameplay.
So if I'm PH and Punishment two survivors as they make it into the exit gate, I can just walk out and close it again so neither can finish crawling to safety?
Or if a healthy Nea opens a door in front of me, I can just stay behind and close it again? Because she'll technically be in the exit area.
I don't think that's a good idea.
-
@Superyoshiegg said:
No. Stop complaining and either force them out or ignore them.
There's no penalty to hitting the last survivor on the hook over and over, so why should there be a penalty for this?
Isn't the last surv on the hook basically sacrificed instantly? I don't think I'd be able to get more than one or two hits before he's gone anyway

How do you know? Was it a self heal or someone else healing you? I'd like more details on this. As it stands, it's like this perk's only purpose is for consequence free Freddy wake ups

You were saying you were aiming for people that are wearing the charm because of how those 4 survs behaved. That has nothing to do with in-game mechanics such as keys or playing stealthy so maybe don’t twist my words.
And no I never said you should let people with charms live or let go. Again putting words in my mouth.
you could try and don’t even play differently if someone wears or doesn’t wear the charm. Instead of aiming directly at those that wear it. But I guess it’s entitlement to expect to not get targeted specifically because of the charm..
Yes, I also said I aim for someone every match but don't specifically tunnel or camp them. So maybe try comprehending my words better? It doesn't have to do with in game mechanics, and griefing doesn't specifically state "oh it's okay if it's an in game mechanical reason." So don't call it griefing if you can't understand what that means.
You were saying I am targeting them and I gave a specific example which is not targeting. So you seem so lost that you should try seeing if that virtue signaling can lead you back to reality.
It's entitlement to think that I can't choose to go after whomever I want for whatever reason I want. If I was tunneling and camping someone with a charm, you'd have a point instead of a handful of salt.
-
Could be because DC penalty is disabled and they want to rank down? Dunno if that's how it works, though

You are saying you are targeting people that wear a specific charm. That is -over the course of multiple games- griefing and therefore against the rules. If you happen to target the same survivor kn multiple matches because of this behavior they can report you for that (but they would of course need proof for that which is very unlikely)
even if it wasn’t against the rules it is still showing what kind of human you are. And again, you are not better than those making false accusations of homophobia.
The entitlement here is hilarious. Am I supposed to let Adam go and go after Tapp because he feels targeted? Oh wait, should people that bring in a key report anyone that tunnels them since they are targeted for it? I already said I prefer to go after Claudette because she's hardest to see, so apparently I've been griefing all along.
I'm the kind of human that can't stand stupidity. I don't care about who I am or am not better than.

Because 4 survs made false accusations you are going out of your way to grief others that happen to wear a charm?
maybe you are not homophobic. But that is still against game rules and you are not better than those 4 survs when you let yourself get dragged down to that level.
It's not against game rules, nor is it grief or going out of my way. If there are two survivors in front of me: Say one Adam Francis with the charm and one Tapp without, I will go for the Adam. I didn't say I tunnel, I didn't say I slug. Choosing a priority target is something I do every game, so chill out.
-
This is the absolute worst on the swamp maps. But the one on umm Midwich? Where the doors are just a straight line through the courtyard and a 3 second trip for the killer? Ridiculous.
-
What rank are you? Tbh sometimes I do it at times like this where tensions are high and people are trying their best to spite others on both sides. Help you get your challenges done or just freaking relax from all the Spirit tunneling and Wraith camping.
-
I was called homophobic because I went after someone and they happened to have the charm. In actuality, I went after them because they were a Claudette and hard to see, but I still got jumped on by the survs for it. So now I DO aim for people with it because of the sense of entitlement it apparently gives some.
-
I'd use Breakout if I had it, but I kept Sprint Burst so I could dash to the closest hook to the downed person. I don't care much about spiting the killer or even my own life, I just wanted to save my friends. So at one point I even used For the People so I could instant heal if the killer didn't smack me first, which wasn't very often.
-
You had no gens done, the hatch was closed and you got found. One hit or two, it was gonna end the same way.
But yeah, it powers the gates. Gates powered = NOED activates. Shouldn't matter if it was the hatch.
-
You're honestly better off without it. The amount of people saying anything wholesome or "thank you" or something funny like "This is why you only had one good movie!" And "Quentin and Nea in one lobby is scarier than any one killer alone" Is in the minority. It's mostly just insults to you or each other, complaining and saying X or Y is OP, or calling you a hacker because they sprinted into a locker and you found them.

I'd get rid of the useless hook offerings first. Why did the moon offerings have to go? I quite liked those

Thats certainly a di#$ move, id probably laugh though
It's not really about whether or not it upsets you, it's more about whether it's toxic behavior or not.

An indoor map is a bit harder to deal with. In my experience Bubba bonks more when he has to turn in a full circle around something. If he's already on your back approaching a vault I don't think there is much to be done other than try and fake the window
I never thought to fake the window, but then again it's pretty impossible with Hawkins. The ladders to those vaults are so slim and the windows upstairs are in small rooms. I'm sure there's ways to stop him there, but I couldn't find any.

The only thing a killer can do that i see as legit toxic is slugging all 4 survivors and letting them bleed out on purpose.
Survivors just the messages i get.
Other than that its all whatever
So a Ghostface downing the last surv, picking them up and carrying them to the hatch, closing it in front of them and T-bagging them until the match is over isn't toxic to you?
-
I had a Clown that was using wall and speed hacks recently so he'd just zoom from surv to surv downing, hooking, then waiting for an unhook to waddle back.
The only reason I can think is just to troll other players.
-
I don't tunnel unless the survivor is particularly toxic or asking for it and ironically, I never "win" when I do it. I get 4k or 3k and a hatch escape most times I play Doctor and I have no need for tunneling. Everybody in the match is catching a Carter Spark.

I agree completely.
Toxic swf groups definitely exist. I hate going against them, too. However most of the swfs I find will just be stupidly altruistic when you're about to hook or kill their friend. It's both heartwarming and easier to deal with than finding the other 3 blendettes who couldn't care less.
Keys are still like moris imo. They can only be used at the end of a match, and it can actually help people whose team was garbage. Last I successfully used one was on Lery's where I did two gens, escaped the killer twice and we still somehow only had 3 gens done and 2 people dead. I played as hard as I could but can't compensate for 3 other braindead bozos.
Solo can be dreadful though. I now only go into solo using stealth builds because of the amount of times I've been left on the hook, or wasted killer time only to have 0 gens pop. Bright side is that now most of my solo games aren't so bad
